Teen Titans Go! Review

Well I bet you never saw this coming and i'm going to let you know right now there will be somethings in this review that you will disagree with so here is my review of teen Titans Go! so lets get it started.

The basic premise of the show is what do the Teen Titans (Robin , Raven, Starfire, Beast Boy and Cyborg)  do on there day of and I have to say that while the set up makes it sound funny it does come with a lot of problems and I think alot of them are due to the fact the show only has eleven minuets to tell a story and I don't think it needs saying but the show is episodic so you can watch the latest episode and still get a feeling of who the characters are.

Reprising their roles as the titans are Scott Menville , Hynden Walch , Khary Payton , Tara Strong and Greg Cipes. In all honesty the acting for me was very mixed especially early on in the series but as the series went on the acting did get better and that's not really a surprise since alot of these actors are legends and they played these roles in the original series.

One of the major issues I have with the series is the fact that alot of the stories just end a story is meant to have a beginning , a middle and an end here they have a beginning and an middle but no end and that really does hurt the show in my opinion I wouldn't mind in alot of the episodes were two parters but there not so there's no excuse for not ending a story.

For the purpose of this review I did watch the so called "Hater" episodes and I have to say that while I do see where the fans of the original series are coming from because alot of what they say does come across as mean spirited alot of the time it's also a harmless meta joke which sometimes I did find myself smiling at .

Now alot of people think that the show is made by Cartoon Network it's not it's made by Warner Bros animation and animation wise it's not that good i've seen TV adverts with better animation and for some reason they give the characters these really thick lines that to me is just distracting to look.

However on the flip side of the argument the simplistic designs I think really do work with the shows animation style they somehow make the characters look heroic and at the same time look goody and almost childlike.

This is where i'm most likely to get the most hate but I think the fans who grew up with the original series need to understand that this show isn't meant for them it's meant for little kids and to them this is a great show hence why it keeps on getting picked up and has over 200 episodes now again to flip that the makers of the show have to understand that if your making a show called Teen Titans and it features the same cast as the original show then there will be alot of hate.

Now again I might get some hate here but I found the show to be at times rather funny granted it didn't get a big laugh out of me nor was alot of the jokes funny but for me it was either Starfire or Raven that got the most laughs for some reason seeing Starfire angry is really funny to me and u'm not sure why and I love Raven's dry sense of humor.

I can't not review and not talk about the fact that it's on all the time which to me is both great scheduling and bad scheduling at the same time it's great because if you have a hit show it means you can get alot more viewers to your channel and thus more money can be made when it comes to advertising but it's bad because it also means alot of pretentiously great shows fall by the side because of the fact alot of the schedule is taken up by this one show.

Now the show does kinda include the theme song to the 2003 series and I say kinda because it's a remix of that theme and honestly I think it's one of the best things in this series it's fun and upbeat and to the point plus it does have a nice beat to it as well.

Overall while this is no doubt a bad show it does have some good qualities to it and those cannot be ignored and while I do still think the movie looks terrible I will still check it out just to see where they take these characters so the show gets a fair 5 out of 10.

Our Cartoon President Review

Cartoon fans there are alot of shows out there that divide people and while I can see why people would hate the show i'm about to review I honestly really enjoy it so here is my review of Our Cartoon President let's get it on.

The premise of the show is that the White House opens it's doors for an 'all access' look at a typical day in Donald Trump's world examining quintessentially Trumpian details of the presidency and his most important relationships. It's a world in which no one is safe from close family and confidants to key political figures of both parties and members of the media.Yes this show has no real story to tell and is episodic but I think for this show it really does work since not every show needs a story sometimes all you need is the set up and you can watch it the rest play out.

Starring in this show we have Jeff Bergman as Donald Trump , Cody Lindquist as Melania Trump , Emily Lynne as Ivanka Trump, Eric Trump, Karen Pence, and Nancy Pelosi and Gabriel Gundacker as Donald Trump Jr., Stephen Miller, and Brian Kilmeade.  The acting is kinda what you'd expect from unknown actors and i'll admit it's not the best and I do wish they had got Alec Bladwin to play the president but Jeff Bergman is the only good actor in the show and he does a fairly solid job playing the part.

Now this show does feature politics there's really no getting around it when you make a show about the current American president you have to throw in some politics but there not always at the forefront of every story infact in the most recent episode there wasn't any politics involved but when the show does dive in to them it's mostly for comedic effect.

While doing research for this review I found that two companies worked on this show and I have no idea which one did the animation those companies are Licht Media Solutions and Spartina Productions but either way the animation in this show for me goes between decent to downright ugly which is a shame because this was made using flash animation and for some reason the show likes to use the same CGI shots for multiple episodes and sometimes the lip movements are off by a few seconds.

I've said a lot of bad things about this show but I do have to mention one of the few highlights and that's the president himself he is an entertaining character in this show there are also a few other funny characters such as his son Eric who's most likely the best character on the show and Ted Cruz who never fails to get a smile out of me but that said the rest of the characters are really just there and are very forgettable.

When I last talked about this show I said that they don't demonize the president and I do still stick by that because they of the fact that they present him as this lovable idiot and I think that's the right approach if you want to make a show that can appeal to pretty much everyone and while they havn't really succeeded in doing that it was a good idea.

I do see why people do hate this show and most of it is for the reasons i've already listed but for me this show is junk food basically yeah your not going to get much out of it but while your eating your loving every minuet and if you personally don't like the show that's fine that's just how I see it.

Oh boy how do I describe the humor in this show for one thing it's very hit and miss alot of the time a joke won't land but there are a few times where I found myself smiling and most of those times it was because of something Eric said or something Ted Cruz did and I think that the makers of this show should have made it a satire like That's My Bush was a satire of that president but they chose not to do that and so the comedy falls victim because of it.

Overall i'm not sure if I should recommend this show or not but i will say that if this review got you interested in watching the show then i'm sure you can find somewhere that has all the episodes heck Showtime who airs the show like it so much they've ordered an additional seven episodes which will air this summer and bring the series total number of episodes up from 10 to 17 so this show gets a 5 out of 10 from me.

Ballmastrz: 9009 First Impressions

Hello Superjail fans a new show is here upon us and to be frank i've been looking forward to ever since I saw the first trailer back in March I think it was and I have to say if you thought the trailer for this show was insane you've seen nothing yet so here are my first impressions of Ballmastrz: 9009.

The basic premise of the show is Gaz Digzy a washed-up superstar and notorious party gal who after a spiral of destructive antics is demoted to The Leptons, the worst team in The Game. Her only way back to the top is to somehow lead these pathetic misfits and “ultimate losers” to victory. What this summery doesn't tell you is the fact it takes place in a post apocalyptic future where all wars have pretty much been banned and the only way to solve conflict is in these games which are just called The Game and I do really like this set up even if it's a cliche of pretty much any sports movie where a superstar joins a lower ranked team.

Starring in not only these first two episodes but also the show are Natasha Lyonne as Gaz Digzy , Dana Snyder as Babyball , Dave Willis , Flame Princess , Eric Bauza and the show's creator Christy Karacas. What's interesting is that on Wikipedia the only two actors listed with there characters are Natasha and Dana so it's really anyone's guess who's playing the other characters but I will say that based of these first two episodes the acting is pretty good altho I will say that Natasha is pretty much playing the role she always plays so it's not much of a stretch for her.

This is a very Mad Max inspired world which if your a fan of those movies then you'll be over the moon but tho for me I couldn't help but wonder how max would handle this situation and that did kind of distract me from the episodes a bit that's nothing against the show tho that's more to do with me personally.

The animation for the show is being done by Titmouse who of course did the animation for Superjail and the recently scrapped Deadpool series (they did leak a scene from that show and it looked awesome) and I have to wonder if they were told to make it look like the anime Kill La Kill just because the animation style in this show looks like it could have come from that anime and for me that's not a bad thing.

if you thought Superjail was insane which it was then you've seen nothing yet this show is straight up balls to the wall insane and I loved every minuet of it altho I will say that if you suffer from epilepsy then you might want to cover your eyes for a few scenes.

I guess this is a new thing Adult Swim are doing but every week until the finale the show will air two episodes a week and i'm honestly not to sure how I feel about this since while it does mean we get more awesome madness it also means it will be on for half as long and it's something that i don't get why Adult Swim are doing it.

Overall this looks to be a really interesting show i'm going to check out the rest of the series just due to how insane it all is and if I do make it to the end then there will be a review of the show and there will not be a rating since the show has only just started.

A Game Of Thrones Comics Review

Since Game Of Thrones is due to air it's final season next year (yes you can expect a review of the finale btw) I thought i'd take a look at something that perhaps not alot of people know about and that's the Game Of Thrones comic book series starting with the adaptation of the first book A Game Of Thrones.

Even tho this is an adaptation of the first book's story it's a shockingly faithful adaptation and for those who havn't read the first book or seen the show the plot of that first book and this adaptation is several noble houses fight a civil war over who should be king while an exiled princess tries to find her place in the world and the kingdom is threatened by some rising supernatural threat in the north. Boom. I know that doesn't even scratch the surface but that's the best summery I could find and I do have to say that while I do praise the comic for sticking close to the books storyline I personally would have preferred it if they also added in some scenes.

The art for the book was done by Tommy Patterson who's mostly worked on the Grimm Fairy Tales comic book series and I have to say that I really enjoyed his artwork on this series he really did a good job of making this fantasy tale fit in with the comic book medium but tho I do have to say there are some scenes near the end of the series were Daenerys looks like an anime character which does go against the visual look this book is going for.

The biggest issue I have with this series is that it's only twenty four issues long and that's not enough for a story and world this rich and epic and because of how short the series is alot of key scenes from the book aren't in this series we don't get to see Robert and Ned's banter just after Robert arrives at Winterfell and alot of the stuff with Viserys while present is cut down and that's to name but a few of the scenes that didn't make the cut.

All of the characters from the show are present and correct but tho we now sadly cannot skip the boring chapters which means for the first time in a long time I had to read Jon Snow's scenes and I have to say I was impressed with this book handled him since he is one of the franchises most popular characters I thought they would have made him look like this goody goody good guy who can do know wrong but no they actually present him as a real person who does make mistakes.

What really shocked me was this book took three years to fully publish and I have no idea why that was the story was already there in book form and so where the characters so all they had to do pretty much was just put this series out there but perhaps they were taking there time because of how successful the show was and thus wanted to make sure they got it just right.

The show is famous not only for having great writing , acting and visual effects but for also being very bloody / violent among other things and I have to say apart from one scene with Tyrion that was for some reason cut from this series this book is very freaking violent when you get to the horse heart scene you see some of the veins in the heart.

In all honesty when we got to a certain famous scenes with Ned I really thought they would go all out with the gore but they really subtle with how they did it literally my only issue with that scene is the fact it's in issue 21 and the fact they spoil it on the freaking cover. If I was writing this series I would have had that scene take place in either issue twenty two or twenty three just because there's not much story after we get to that point and I wouldn't have had that scene be on the cover for that issue that's just bad marketing right there.

The book is famous for having pages upon pages of descriptions and characters thoughts well since this is a comic book we don't need to hear how things look as for the inner thoughts of characters they are actually present in the book as little boxes and I thought it was cool that the makers of this book would include that little detail since they didn't really have to that at all.

Overall this was a pretty good series like I said before I wish that it was longer since that would served the story better and as you can tell by the picture they are also adapting A Clash Of Kings which as of this writing is only nine issues in so I give A Game Of Thrones a solid 9 out of 10.

The Boss Baby: Back In Business Review

Well then here we are with another Dreamworks movie turned into a Netflix TV show and I think it's about time that they learned that not every movie deserves it's own series so here is my review of The Boss Baby: Back In Business.

The plot of this show is as simple as it gets The Boss Baby and Tim have to juggle life at babycorp and being a family but there's also a small story about a character called Bootsy Calico who loves cats and wants to get rid of babies. Yeah the story for the show is pretty much the same as the first movie the problem is the first movie did the story better there was no creativity at all when it comes to the story the story goes where you think it will.

The series doesn't star Alec Baldwin but stars someone who doesn't sound like him in JP Karliak heck they even replaced the kid actor with Pierce Gagnon and both actors don't sound like their original actors. Now it's understandable that they couldn't get back Lisa Kudrow and Jimmy Kimmel but they could have at least got some actors who sounded like them instead we have Hope Levy and David W. Collins.

The only actor they did bring back was Eric Bell Jr. as The Triplets and that's it literally every character who's in the movie has a different actor in the series and the only actors i'd say are decent is the voice actor behind The Boss Baby and the new voice actress for Staci and that's really it everyone else puts in little to know effort.

As you'll know the animation was handled by Dreamworks Animation and while I expected there to be a downgrade in animation quality but at least in the movie the animation looked finished here it just doesn't everything just looks unfinished from the character designs to the way the characters move to me it feels like the makers of the show where given a deadline first and were then told to make the show when it should've been the other way round.

The show does also use some 2D flash animation which honestly doesn't look that bad especially when you compare it to the CGI it's just a shame that the whole show wasn't done using this technique if Trolls: the Beat Goes On! can pull it of then why not this series?.

Now I know what you're thinking " This is a kids show it's not meant to for you so don't be hard on it" well it's for that exact reason that i'm being hard on it because in a world where kids have shows like Adventure Time , Steven Universe and Star Vs. The Forces Of The Evil all of which have proven that kids shows can be smart and challenge you this show right here takes all of there hard work and goes "Nope we just want to show you babies doing things and put in little to no effort" say what you will about the Trolls netflix show but at least there's some kind of effort here there's nothing at all.

Now I know i've said alot of bad things about this show but I did find it funny at times and alot of the jokes came from who i consider to be the best character in the show Staci I could honestly watch a whole series based on her if I were to describe her it would be picture Harley Quinn but as a baby that for me would be the most accurate description.

The theme song for the show a terrible rap song who ever thought to have a rap song open each episode should be fired because that is a terrible idea and the person who thought that the rap song they went with was OK should also be fired because it's freaking terrible it's an insult to the ears I cannot wait for that song to be over because of how bad it is.

Overall this is worse then the trailer for the show at least with The Beat Goes On! I was surprised by how good it was this makes the trailer look fantastic avoid this show at all costs don't even show it to kids it gets a 1 out of 10 from me and that's me being fair.

Ducktales 2017 Review

Disney fans the time has finally come after not talking about the show since it's premier episode I have decided that now is the perfect time to get a review about it done so here is my review of the Ducktales reboot woo-oo!

What makes this show standout from it's 1980's counterpart is the fact that it actually has a story going on and the story is what happened to the boys mother and I think it's great that this show is finally tackling that subject as it bothered alot of people when the original show came out so it's only wise that this show would tackle that story and so far it's being really well told it's going to last the whole of the first series so as of now we can only guess but I cannot wait to find out the answer.

Returning as Donald Duck is Tony Anselmo who for this series is joined by David Tennant as Scrooge McDuck , Danny Pudi as Huey Duck , Ben Schwartz as Dewey Duck , Bobby Moynihan as Louie Duck , Velma as Webby Vanderquack , Beck Bennett as Launchpad McQuack and Toks Olagundoye as Mrs. Beakley. Now I have to say that while the cast for the original series is made up of legends the new cast more then live up to the legacy left behind and you can tell that all of the cast are really having fun playing there characters.

Like the original show this show has a different adventure every episode and while some of the adventures are indeed fun there are times where I wish they would go back and visit the mystery about the mother storyline since that to me is more interesting but that's a very minor issue.

The animation for the show was done by Disney Television Animation (for those who don't know they mostly do the animation for Disney's TV output and they also did work on Clerks: The Animated Series) and I have to say that the animation in this series is freaking fantastic you can tell from the get go that alot of love and care has gone into making this show and I think that's because they had a lot of fans of the original series working on this one and so they want the show to be as good as it can be.

Thank the lord for Webby if your like me and you watched the original show then you'll know that Webby in that show was annoying as hell and pretty much served no purpose and had the personality of a rock but in this show she is such a great character and she has tons of personality for me she is the best character on the show gone is the Webby of old and in her place is new and more awesome Webby and long may she reign.

There's something I have to talk about and it's about Disney XD we went for months without any news or any new episodes in fact the only way I could watch new episodes was through online streaming and that's not something I would recommend doing if you want to see the show succeed but tho due to the fact that Disney wouldn't tell us anything about new episodes (heck even now we don't have a set return date) people who run streaming sites are going to getting alot of views because of the fact that they have new episodes of the show.

I consider this to be a comic book series since it's based of the Uncle Scrooge series by Carl Barks who also created the character and the show does indeed reflect his designs especially with the Scrooge character gone his blue over coat and it's replaced with a red one which is what he wore in those books.

I do have to say that apart from fixing Webby the show also gave the boys individual personalities as well Huey is very organised and loves to follow rules , Dewey is adventuress and Louie only wants to make money and have fun.

The humor in the show is at times really good i've lost count at how many times i've laughed at the jokes in this series but then there times where the joke just isn't funny which granted for this show is very rare but it does happen and when it does it sticks out like a sore thumb.

Overall out of all the reboots that are out there this one is easily the best one and i'm glad that it's getting a second season I just wish Disney would release more episodes so we can get our Ducktales fix this show gets a 9 out of 10 from me.

Top Cat Review

Cartoon fans Hanna-Barbera have produced alot of shows over the years but one show that nobody really talks about is the show that i'm going to talk about today so here we go with me review of Top Cat.

Now this is actually one of the shortest HB produced shows with only a single season of thirty episodes being made to put that into prospective the original Wacky Races technically had thirty four episodes while Scooby-Doo has had many many shows so when I say this is the shortest show they produced you can take that to the bank.

In America the show was indeed called Top Cat but when the show began airing in the UK the title was changed to Boss Cat the reasoning behind this was because there was a cat food company called Top Cat but tho even tho they changed the title they didn't count on the fact that the shows theme song says the word Top Cat quite alot and they didn't remove the name from the opening and closing credits so it became known as Top Cat anyway.

For those who either didn't know or straight up forgot the show was started airing on September 27th 1961 and finished on April 18th 1962 and was aired on ABC. The basic set up for the show was that Top cat and his gang would try various get rich quick schemes only to be cought by officer Dibble and I have to say that this set up does indeed work as it makes the plot of each episode feel fresh and different from the one that came before it.

The cast for this show consisted of Arnold Stang as Top Cat , Maurice Gosfield as Benny the Ball , Allen Jenkins as Officer Dibble , Marvin Kaplan as Choo-Choo , Leo De Lyon as Brain and Spook and original Mr. Slate actor John Stephenson as Fancy-Fancy. As with all previous HB shows the voices were impressions of famous celebrities of the time but for the life of me I cannot remember who they were impersonating but I can say that the acting really wasn't that bad all of the actors did a good job and they all put in a funny performance.

What I found out while watching the show was that even tho the show is set in New York there's only one character that speaks with a New York accent and it's Choo Choo (the above image FYI) and I can't figure out why that's the case since all of these characters are meant to be from New York wouldn't it there for make sense for them all to have an accent?.

What i thought was even more shocking was the fact that every episode was written by someone called Kin Platt I was shocked because it takes along time to produce a single episode of an animated show so having one writer write the whole thing start to finish was even in those days kind of unheard off.

The show was not only produced by Hanna-Barbera but the pair also directed all of the episodes heck no wonder they stopped at thirty episodes both the writer and the producers / directors most of been worn out. I will however say that the animation is pretty much the standerd HB affair with repeating backgrounds and in some episodes extremely limited animation but what kind of annoyed me was whenever they would show an overhead view of the city everything would be still even the people (if there were any) would just be still I know HB did things on the cheap but I didn't realise they were that cheap.

Here's something that might possible ruin alot of childhoods but Top Cat switches from being a con-man to a member of the mafia and to a confidence trickster really think about it for a second he cons the rest of the gang into giving him there money , he tricks people by saying that they are the best at what ever they do and there are episodes where he has to act like a mafia boss and most of the time he gets away with all of it Top Cat is the world's best criminal.

I couldn't do a review of this show and not mention the theme song to me the theme to Top Cat is one of the best themes in cartoon history it's catchy as heck , you can very easily sing along to it and it tells you straight up about the main character it does everything a good theme song should do and it does it all in forty seconds heck it's so good they reply it at the end of each episode.

Overall I highly recommend you check out this gem from the past it has some good jokes and some not so good jokes and the Spook character really hasn't aged that well but it's still wroth watching and it's way better then the last two Top Cat movies the show gets an 7 out of 10 from me.
