My Little Pony: Equestria Girls – Magical Movie Night Review

Hello pony fans this a good year to be a pony fan we have the new series currently airing and My Little Pony: The Movie arriving in a months time so to tide us over we kinda have a new Equestria Girls movie called My Little Pony: Equestria Girls – Magical Movie Night.

Now i said this is kinda a new movie because it's just the three episode of the Equestria Girls miniseries but it was released on DVD as a movie for some unknown reason but since it's just three episodes i'm not going to make a comment on the overall story since there isn't any but i will say i liked some segments more then others.

The cast for the series returns to play there respective characters and there all really good in this "movie" so i can't really fault them because they've played these characters since 2010 so they know there characters really well but apart from the returning cast debuting in this spin-off franchise is Kelly Sheridan as Starlight Glimmer and even tho she only appears in the third story she's pretty good.

I have to say that the animation in this "movie" wasn't that bad it was consistent with the show which for me was to be expected since that meant there was a lot of nice fluid movement with the characters and the backgrounds looked nice altho some of the characters have really thick lines which does get distracting. Some of the characters also have really nice designs as well with my personal favorite being Starlight Glimmer.

Now since this is a 2010 MLP product you'd think they'd be a song in each of the segments well that's not true since only the first segment features a song and it's the kind of the fluff that little girls would indeed like but i personally didn't like the song at all.

Overall the specials were pretty good but they didn't need to be released as a movie tho that to me was perhaps my biggest peeve about this "movie" and i won't be giving this a ranking but i will say if your looking for something to tide you over until the big screen movie comes out then this is fine.
