Ranking All Of The Doctors That i've Seen From Worst To Best

Doctor Who fans since i've grown quite attached to talking to you recently I thought i'd put together a little post i've been thinking about doing. As the title would suggest im going to rank my favourite Doctors from worst to best however I am going to lay down some ground rules first I have to have seen them either in a few episodes or in a movie and second they can only appear on this list if there run with the character is complete so that means no thirteenth doctor and i'm only counting Doctors canon to the show so there's no Peter Cushing Doctor.

Seventh Doctor (Sylvester Mccoy)

I;m not going to lie i've not really seen enough of this version of the character to really dive into his character. However since he does appear in the TV movie I can kind of say that I don't really like this version again just based of the movie he seems like he doesn't fit in with Doctor Who but rather some other show and i'm not sure why that's the case he's acted brilliantly all of them are but I wish that this version just acted more like The Doctor.

Ninth Doctor (Christopher Eccleston)

This version of The doctor is only here because I feel that Chris left just as he was getting really interesting. Which to me does hurt the character because now we are left with the question of what might have been they start him of on this great character arc of learning to cope with the death of his people and even tho they do finish it with the Eleventh Doctor it still would have been cool to see it play out with Christopher Eccleston's Doctor.

Eighth Doctor (Paul Mcgann)

As with the Ninth Doctor we didn't really get alot of time to really know this character well at least in terms of TV time anyways. Since this doctor did have a life in audio , comic book and book form however i've not seen , read or heard all of those and so I can only judge him of the TV movie and the short clip and based of those alone he does seem like he would have made a cool Doctor if he was given a full series to really prove himself.

Fifth Doctor (Peter Davison)

I've only seen two adventures with this Doctor in my life and I have to say that based of those adventures alone he does seem like a really fun version of the character. To me he's like a victorian gentlemen in that he likes all things British and is a fan of Cricket but that's just my opinion I don't know what this character is like when ti comes to the more goofy parts of the show but when he's serious I really buy that this doctor can be a threat.

Tenth Doctor (David Tennant)

I can see alot of you sharpening your pitchforks right now but I do have a reason for him not being my favourite. Which is I personally found him to be far to dramatic which is fine since Doctor Who is a drama however it's also a show that has alot of comedy and while his doctor is indeed pretty good at the comedy but at the same time it could be weird seeing him do a dramatic scene and then go and do a joke in the very next scene but that said when it comes to great speeches and making us believe in this world that is when this doctor shines for me.

Eleventh Doctor (Matt Smith)

To me Matt Smith is a better version of The Doctor then David Tennent because his version of the doctor is more alien. Which to me is a great thing because the doctor is alien so it would make sense that the actor would play him as such. Now I won't lie this version of The Doctor can get tiresome since he can be more comedic when he really should be dramatic but I still have fun seeing his episodes.

Twelfth Doctor (Peter Capaldi)

This is the most recent New Who Doctor and I have to admit that unlike alot of fans when Peter was first announced I was excited because Peter is such a good actor and I wasn't disappointed about. Since Peter is honestly a great actor but I will admit that his doctor is more let down by the scripts but that's it and when it comes to giving huge powerful speeches he really does knock it out of the park hell his speech on war is so spine tingling I watch it all the time.

Fourth Doctor (Tom Baker)

Now I have seen at least one adventure with this Doctor so I can include him on this post and I have to say that based of what i've seen he does seem to be a rather strange version of the doctor. Saying that he's a strange version of the character is perhaps the best thing that I can say about him because honestly it suits his take on the character really well because this version of the character is indeed strange in the best kind of way.

First Doctor (William Hartnell)

Now I couldn't do this list and not talk about the first doctor somehow it would just feel wrong and given that there are two more Doctors yet to name he's not my favourite Doctor. Don't get wrong I do indeed like him since he does feel like a grandfatherly figure which is what the makers of the show were going for but it doesn't really work when it comes to the shows more comedic scenes but given that he was the first doctor we can kind of forgive him for not being perfect.

Second Doctor (Patrick Troughton)

Now the only adventures i've seen from this doctor are mostly the animated classic reconstructions so I do have a fair idea of what his doctor is like. This doctor had a lot of live up to since no one in 1966 had even heard of regeneration and in my opinion they did a good job of handling this change since this version of the character is alot more goofy and yet when he needs to he can quite stern and smart.

Third Doctor (Jon Pertwee)

I will always say that the third doctor is my all time favourite Doctor not only is he played by an actor who is in my opinion perfect for the role. Jon Pertwee was an actor known for his more comedic roles and while he did do more dramatic roles he wasn't really known for them and so to see him act well in the role is a truly great thing to see and what makes his doctor stand out from the early doctors is that he's more willing to get into fights even if it is as a last resort.
