The Super Mario Bros Super Show "The Bird! The Bird!" / "Neatness Counts" TV Series Review

Mario fans we are now just a few short days away from the release of The Super Mario Bros. Movie and as such I thought that'd produce a tie in review. I will admit that this one was perhaps the easiest choice to make when choosing what would make a great tie in review as they both have the distinction of being Mario's first animated media produced exclusively for America and so then join me as I review the first episode of the show that has both Mario and Luigi rapping with the episodes in question being called simply just "The Bird! The Bird!" / "Neatness Counts" enjoy.

The plot of this episode is Mario , Luigi and Princess each have to rescue Toad who has been stolen by a giant bird and Mario and Luigi get obsessed with neatness which they show to actress Nicole Eggert who is just trying to get to a party. Now then interms of what I personally thought / flt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode wasn't that bad altho out of the two plots i'd say that the plot for The Bird The Bird was the stronger plot just because the plot of Neatness Counts just wasn't that interesting in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this episode is wrestling legend Captain Lou Albano as Mario and The Jeffersons Danny Wells as Luigi. Also starring in this episode is The Addams Family star and american Dennis The Menace star Jeannie Elias as Princess Toadstool / Princess Peach , Cheepy and Giant Birdo , The Magic School Bus star John Stocker as Toad and Flurry and Heavy Metal and The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3 star Harvey Atkin as King Koopa.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode wasn't that bad. The issue is this episodes script gives none of the actors nothing to work with because it's just a flat bad script that is trying so hard to be funny that it forgets to give it's characters any kind of personality trait whatsoever and that really does effect the overall quality of the acting in this episode.

Doing the animation for not only this episode but the show as a whole is the legends and the greats that are currently over at Sei Young Animation Company. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad altho there were alot of animation errors all of which really do bring down the overall quality of the animation that we got in this very episode.

For some strange reason this show also includes live action segments with both Mario and Luigi where they meet various celebrities. These live action segments don't add anything to the plot of the cartoon besides from the fact that the characters are played by the same characters in both the live action and the cartoon segments of the show and heck the live action segments just come of as being rather cheesy which is a shame because a live action Mario sitcom could work but here it's like the writers just couldn't be bothered as those segments where some of the worst written segments in this whole entire episode.

For so,e strange reason the makers of this show made Luigi the cowardly member of the group which just didn't it right with me at all. As he always came across as being just as brave as Mario in the games and please bare in mind that I haven't played the games all that much and I barely played them as a kid but the few times I did play them Luigi was always running head first into the level at least from what I can remember and so to see him basically acting like a less funny version of Shaggy from Scooby-Doo just didn't sit right with me.

I get wanting to include nods and winks to the original source material but when almost every single sound effect is a sound effect from the game. It starts to get annoying after a while this is made even more annoying when you realise that the characters spend alot of time jumping in this episode and the sound effects just aren't limited to the animated portion of the episode either as they show up in the live action segments as well which is a shame because they would seem right at home in the really over the top and cheesy as all heck live action segments of this very show.

Now then this episode has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly twenty one minuets and fifty one seconds. Which is pretty much the perfect running time for this episode to last as neither of this episodes plots has alot there in terms of story to cover a longer running time and to this shows credit the time really does fly by with no scene lasting longer then what it really needs to which means that this shows does have some really good pacing to it with the plots of this episode moving at a nice and quick pace.

So now then since this show is basically a comedy show that means that I have to talk about the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode and well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty rather weak. With very few of this episodes jokes actually landing with the episode for some strange trying make the phrase "Paster Power" funny which it just isn't and the jokes in the live action segment aren't that much better either but at least there you can laugh at how bad the live action segments actually are in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall I cannot wait for The Super Mario Bros. Movie to come out because it has to be better then this show which to it's credit was the first animated and live action piece of Mario media made exclusively for America but a bad episode is still a bad episode in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very episode in this very review and as such that means that this very episode earns itself a grand old score of exactly a 5 put of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from the official Mario fandom wiki page , Mario Wikipedia and Google Images. With my personally preferred website that I personally preferred to use to get the images that I personally used in this very review being the wonderful the official Mario fandom wiki page since all of the images that are currently up and and featured / presented to us on the official Mario fandom wiki page are all fairly high in quality and as well as being really fairly freaking high in definition.
