Sailor Moon Live Action TV Series "I Am Sailor Moon!" Review

I've reviewed plenty of bad movies and episodes of TV shows in my time but none of them have made me laugh as hard as the episode that i'm about to review for you all today. As yes this episode is just that bad and is just that cheep looking that it makes the 1993 Saban produced Sailor Moon pilot episode look good by comparison and so then join me as I review the first episode of the TV show that really does need to be seen to be believed with the episode in question being called simply just "I Am Sailor Moon!" enjoy.

The plot of this episode is when her best friends mother is attacked by a monster Usagi Tsukino must find the courage to transform into superhero Sailor Moon and save the day once and for all. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty really bad with this episodes plot just being heartless and soulless and entertaining but not in a good way at all in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this episode is Kamen Rider star Miyuu Sawai as Usagi Tsukino / Sailor Moon and Ayaka Komatsu as Minako Aino / Sailor V. Also starring in this episode is Jouji Shibue as Mamoru Chiba / Tuxedo Mask , Aya Sugimoto as Queen Beryl , Keiko Han as The Voice Of Luna , Chieko Ochi as Naru Osaka , Naoki Takeshi as Shingo Tsukino , Tomoko Otakara as Haruna Sakurada , Noriko Watanabe as Mayumi Osaka , Kaori Moriwaka as Ikuko Tsukino and Jun Masuo as Jadeite.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty alot better then it really had any right to be. As all of this episodes cast are quite clearly trying to turn in a good performance but the issue is tho is that this episodes script just doesn't give the cast anything to work with interms of what their respective characters personalities even are and so they can't really turn in that good of a performance as this episodes just simply won't allow for it.

Doing the CGI for this episode is Motor/lieZ , Nippon Effect Center , Nippon Eizo Creative and Tokusatsu Kenkyujo. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty really bad even for a mid 2000's TV show this episodes CGI is just really bad with Luna herself really looking a character in a Playstation 2 videogame cut scene at best.

This episode does of course try to start the romance between Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask which wasn't really that badly done in this episode. Granted they don't really spend alot of time in this episode heck they only have two scenes together in the whole entire episode but what little screen time that they do have together does does do a fairly solid job of setting up their romance together and while I would have liked it if they did send more time together in this episode by doing so they wouldn't really have alot if any time left to set up Sailor Moon herself as a character as the episode would have to set up the romance and the plot of the episode.

The one word that I can use to describe not only this episode but the show as a whole is cheap because the whole episode just looks very cheap looking. Say what you will about the Saban pilot episode for their version of Sailor Moon bu you can see where all of the money went in that episode here on the other hand from the cheap looking sets to the cheap looking costumes and to the cheap looking CGI it's hard to tell where alot of the money went as the whole thing just looks like a cheesy soap opera that just so happens to have a superhero as it's main character and it doesn't look like an actual superhero show in the slightest.

For those of you that don't know this show aired from October 4th 2003 and it lasted all the way until September 25th 2004. With the show airing on Chubu-Nippon Broadcasting the show itself had forty nine episodes along with four direct to DVD episodes , three direct to DVD specials with the fourth direct to DVD special from what I can tell being a concert film and so to say that this show lasted a long time would be a huge understatement as they got alt of this show and that's fair enough as Sailor Moon was and still is a very popular brand in Japan but at the same time I have to wonder why they were pushing this show to the moon when they still the hugely popular and successful anime just sitting their doing nothing.

Now then this episode has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly twenty four minuets and twenty two seconds. Which is the perfect running time for this episode to have as this episode really doesn't have alot their interms of either plot or story to cover a large amount of running time but while this episode does have a really solid running time I would have liked it if this episode was slightly longer just so they can just flesh out some of the characters a bit more but granted this was only the first episode and you can't really expect the characters to be fully three dimensional after just one episode and I will admit that this episode does have some rather solid pacing to it.

So now then since this is an action show that means that I have to actually talk about the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really bad. With this episode making quite clear when there using a stunt double and not to mention this episodes action also looks really cheap and is very horribly edited together with them using so many cuts that it's hard to work out what's actually going on and top of that the episodes action just looks amateurish in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this was a really bad first episode and when the foundations of the show are bad it doesn't matter how good the rest of the show is because the show is just going collapse in on itself in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all the good and as well as all of the bad things that are this very episode in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very episode really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 3.5 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from the official Sailor Moon fandom wiki page and Google Images. With my personally preferred website that I personally preferred to use to get the images that I personally used in this very review being the really wonderful Google Images as since all of the images that are currently up and featured / presented to us up and on the really great and wonderful on Google Images are all really fairly high in quality and as well as being all really fairly freaking high in definition.
