Kamen Rider × Super Sentai: Chou Super Hero Taisen Review

Hello Kamen Rider fans and Super Sentai fans today is a very special review because this is the first time i'm reviewing anything from both franchises so here we go with Kamen Rider × Super Sentai: Chou Super Hero Taisen.

The plot of the film is the gaming world is attacking the real world so it's up Kamen Rider Ex-Aid and bunch of Super Sentai characters to out a stop to it. The movie has dreadful pacing and is at times just flat out boring it's a cool story to tell but it gets bogged down by awful pacing and for a movie that has both Kamen Rider and Super Sentai in the title it focuses more on the Kamen Rider characters which is great if you love that franchise but if you love Super Sentai more then your in trouble.

Now the cast list for this film is freaking huge so i'm not going to name everyone but in the movie we have Hiroki Iijima , Ruka Matsuda , Haruka Tateishi and Takumi Kizu. The acting in this film is what you'd expect from something that gets made into Power Rangers so if you have low expectations then you'll be happy i honestly don't know what more i can say about the acting because anybody who watches these shows will know what to expect from the actors.

I admit to being disappointed that my favorite Sentai Doubutsu Sentai Zyuohger only had one actor appear in live action with the rest being in voice over that didn't sit well with me at all why couldn't they have had all of the Sentai actors at some point appear in live action it would have made the movie feel more special.

I have to mention the action scenes they were really freaking awesome both the Kamen Rider teams and the Super Sentai teams use there weapons alot which i liked because it mean the action scenes didn't boil down to who can hit who the hardest and it helps that there was a lot of cool camera movements as well.

Overall if your a fan of both or even just one of these franchises then i say you check this one out but either way you should be ready for a long and at time dull film so with that in mind this film gets a 5 out of 10 from me.

Star Trek: Discovery Pilot Review

Hello there any Star Trek fans it's been well over ten years since Star Trek was last on TV and now it is back with a show that pretty much everyone hated when they first saw the trailer so here is my review of the first two episodes of Star Trek: Discovery.

The plot for the first two episodes is the crew of the USS Shenzhou find a klingon ship and get attacked by them. In all honesty that's the best i could come up with while trying to summarize the story of these first two episodes and i think that story wise these two episodes were really good they did a good job of setting up the main characters.

These first two episodes star Sonequa Martin-Green , Doug Jones and Michelle Yeoh. While the series does have a large cast the rest of the characters won't be introduced until the next episode but in terms of these first two episodes i loved Sonequa as the protagonist altho i find it ironic that she's gone from being chased by Zombies to now being chased by Klingons she cannot catch a break. I have to give a shout out to Michelle Yeoh who kills in in these two episodes she's playing a yoda type of role in this series and i think it works.

This episode was shockingly gory i never thought i'd see gore in a Star Trek product and here it is almost front and center and the blood does look really good so i have to give them props for making blood that doesn't look fake.

I want to know how much of a budget this show has because damn did those CGI effects look good the effects in these two episodes alone are almost on par with Game Of Thrones or The Flash that's how good they were i honestly thought a few times that these two episodes could have been released into cinemas and no one would know the difference due to how good the effects were.

I have to give composer Jeff Russo credit for creating a truly wonderful opening theme it's a theme that in my view captures the hope filled nature of Gene Roddenberry's original series and it gives you hope that this series will contain alot of hope within it.

Overall go and watch these two episodes because they are truly worth it and if that means paying for CBS All Access then so be it and since this a pilot there will not be a rating but i will go and say watch The Orville since it's a great Star trek type of series.
