101 Dalmatian Street Review

Disney fans this is a big week for the company with there latest live action remake being released but let us not forget about there animation division. Since for a few weeks now in the UK there has been a new series airing and it's due to make it's way across all Disney Channels during this year and well I thought that instead of waiting until we got to around episode ten or eleven i'd review it now and so here is my review of 101 Dalmatian Street.

The premise of this show is a bunch of puppies with the help of there older brother and sister have adventures around Camden town. As you might have guessed by how summarised the show it's very episodic so you don't really need to watch all the way from episode one you can just watch from whatever episode you want and you'll get the general concept behind the show and I honestly think that having this show be episodic really does work in it's favour.

Starring in the show is Josh Brener as Dylan , Michaela Dietz as Dolly , Rhashan Stone as Doug , Ella Kenion as Delilah , Nefeli Karakosta as Dizzy , Florrie Wilkinson as Dee Dee , Bert Davis as Diesel , Lauren Donzis as Destiny and Déjà Vu , Abigail Zoe Lewis as Dallas , Jack Binstead as Delgado , Maxwell Apple as D.J. , Akiya Henry as Da Vinci and Margot Powell as Dorothy. In my opinion the acting from the main cast is passable at best and that's honestly what I was expecting since this franchise isn't as big as it used to be and all of the actors are honestly trying there best.

For a kids show this show has quite the impressive guest cast list with the likes of Paloma Faith , Miriam Margolyes , Stephen Mangan and Rufus Jones all supplying voices for the show. I honestly want to know how this show got an impressive guest cast list because you hear of 101 Dalmatians and you don't think of a great cast list and yet somehow this show has it and it's honestly great to hear these actors in this show.

For once the animation for this show isn't done by any Disney company but is instead done by Passion Pictures with Disney pretty much licensing out the property to them. I thought that the animation for the show wasn't that bad it's the kind of animation that you'd expect to see in a British animated kids show but at the same time I wished that it could have been better because this does have the Disney name on it and with that you expect a certain level of quality when it comes to the animation.

Now I don't expect any one who's in America to have even heard of this show since it's not started airing there and I don't think it's even being promoted there yet. It will be airing over there on the Disney Channel by the end of the year and that to me is kind of an odd thing because it's already started airing over here in the UK and other European countries and I don't get why that's the case at all.

This is something that I can't help but all of the images so far have been from the first episode and that's because there the only images that Google has for the series. That honestly does mean that there might not be images from as many episodes in this review but i'll do my best to make it work. What I don't really like about the series is that none of the characters from the original film appear which to me is a bad thing because there the characters that people will know of when they think of this franchise.

As I said before this show is set years after the events of the film but even so nothing that happend in the film is even mentioned in this show. That is something that is both a good thing and a bad thing since there will be alot of kids who didn't grow up with the original film but it's a bad thing because this is meant to be set in the same world and so you'd think that someone would have mentioned what happens in the first film even if it's just done in passing but nope.

This show is a comedy and that means that we have to talk about the jokes that are in the show and in all honesty since this is a show aimed for little kids the jokes do work for the most part. Most of the jokes are things that little kids would find funny but in this show it works because the characters are so charming that I can honestly look past it but that being said I would have preferred it if there was some jokes for the family and not just for little kids.

Overall im not going to say that this is a show that you need to watch but it's a good time waster of a show. There's nothing harmful for little kids so you could show it to any little kid and they'll enjoy but that said there are some issues with the show and so it gets a 5.5 out of 10 from me.
