Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas TV Special Review

Muppet fans we are now very fastly approaching Christmas day and as such I thought that it was only right that I review something that is to do with the The Muppets. However with Kermit The Frog and the gang only having starring in three four christmas specials that kind of made it difficult to pick one to review however I chose something that not alot people talk about and so here is my review of the very much not talked about christmas special with the christmas special in question being called simply just "Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas" enjoy.

The plot of this special is Emmet and his mother work hard doing odd jobs barely earning enough money to get by and so when a talent show in there local town gets put on both Emmet and his mother enter hoping to ern money to by a present for the other. Now then in terms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot of this actual special well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot of this actual special was really freaking cute and adorable and was the right kind of story that one would expect to see or even want to see in a christmas special in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this special is Jerry Nelson as Emmet Otter , Doc Bullfrog , Melissa Rabbit , Stanley Weasel and Yancey Woodchuck. Also starring in this special is Frank Oz as Chuck Stoat , Marilyn Sokol as Alice Otter , this specials director and producer Jim Henson as Harvey Beaver , Howard Snake and Mayor Harrison Fox , Richard Hunt as Charlie Muskrat , Fred Lizard and George Rabbit , Dave Goelz as "Pop-Eyed" Catfish , Wendell Porcupine and Will Possum and Eren Ozker as Gretchen Fox , Hetty Muskrat , Mrs. Mink and Old Lady Possum.

Now then as for what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very special well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very special was really freaking. Which considering whom is starring / appearing in this very special isn't that much of a surprise to me at all since there are some really freaking good actors and actresses that are appearing in / starring in this very freaking special in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

So now then Kermit The Frog actually filmed scenes for this special which were shown when this special was first aired in 1977. However tho when Disney bough the The Muppets branding the makers or even the copyrights holders for this special pretty much had next to no choice but to cut out all of the scenes and all of the narration that was all done by Kermit The Frog however tho all of Kermit The Frog's scenes but not his narrations were all inserted back into the special for the specials 2018 blu-ray release it's just a shame that it took people fourteen freaking years to come together and give us something that is basically new content featuring the original voice of Kermit The Frog Jim Henson himself in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

So now then this special is actually based on the 1971 book of the same name with the book itself being written by Russell Hoban and illustrated by his wife Lillian Hoban and as far as the I can tell this special is pretty much a faithful adaptation of the book. However this is something that I cannot say for sure tho as of until now i've never even heard of the book let alone read it but either way it does seem pretty cool that the makers of this special would hold this book is such high regards that they would willingly and knowingly produce what I think to be a pretty freaking faithful adaption of the book in question in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Now then the best word that I can use to describe this special is sweet because everything that's about this special is either sweet or cute. Which is in all honesty the pretty freaking thing that you want a christmas special to be and it really does help that this special is genuinely pretty freaking heartbreaking with both Emmet and his mother having to choose to give up the one thing that the other loves the most in this world in order to buy them something that well and truly does infact mean the world to them and would make them well and truly freaking happy in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

So now then even tho this special is really freaking cute it lacks the dark and almost cynical nature that one would typically associate with the The Muppets brand. Which is a shame because alot of the good jokes comes from seeing just how dark and cynical that the The Muppets could get and when you have a Muppets that's lacking all of that it means that this special lacks something that's special and unique in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Now then this special has /  had a grand total running time of exactly forty nine minuets and eight seconds long. Which is the perfect amount of running time for this special since this special really doesn't have enough there in terms of either plot or story to cover anything that's even close to being one hour long or even a freaking feature length freaking running time in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

So now then since according to IMDB anyways this special is a comedy special and well that means that I have to actually talk about the actual jokes that actually featured / presented to us in this special and well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual jokes that are actually featured / presented to us in this special were really freaking bad. However tho while in most Muppets special this would be a bad thing in this special however it's a good thing since the main focus of this special isn't the comedy it's the heart of the two main characters in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this special was a really cute and was also a really freaking sweet special which is in all honesty the type of type of thing that you'd want to watch around this time of year in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now i've talked about all of the good as well as all of the bad things that are in this very special in this very review and as such that means that this very special erns itself a grand old score of exactly an 8.5 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then ladies and gentlemen and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from the official The Muppets fandom wiki page and Google Images. With my personally preferred website to use to get images this film being the official The Muppets fandom wiki page this is because all of the images that I got and that currently up and featured and on the official The Muppets fandom wiki page are all fairly high in quality and as well as being fairly high in definition.
