The Mandalorian "Chapter 22: Guns For Hire" Review

With Star Wars Celebration Europe currently going on it only seems right that I talk about something Star Wars and well with the The Mandalorian TV show currently nearing the end of it's third season. It only seems right that I talk about the shows most recent episode as that episode has been making alot of waves on Twitter since the episode came and out and as the episode has been out for a few days I won't be marking it as being either spoiler filled or spoiler free as lot of people have had more enough time to go and see the episode and so then join me I review the episode that has alot of cameos in it with the episode in question being called simply just "Chapter 22: Guns For Hire" enjoy.

The plot of this episode is The Mandalorian , Grogu and Bo-Katan Kryze go to a planet in order to get Bo-Katan's fleet of ships back. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad but the issue is that it wasn't all that good either as it feels like the plot to an episode that should be more towards the start of the season and not really one that's towards the end of the season in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this episode is Pedro Pascal as The Mandalorian , Katee Sackhoff as Bo-Katan Kryze and Simon Kassianides as Axe Woves. Also starring in this episode is former WWE Superstar and current IWGP Women's Champion Mercedes Varnado as Koska Reeves , Jack Black as Bombardier , Lizzo as The Duchess , Christopher Lloyd as Helgait , Christine Adams as Quarren Captain , Harry Holland as Mon Calamari Nobleman and Matthew Wood as B-1 Series Droid Foreman.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad. Which really isn't new for this show since even in this shows bad episodes the acting has always been top notch it's just a shame that this episodes script really isn't that good and so the episodes cast can;t turn in great performances because of the fact that the script just won't allow for it.

Doing the CGI for this episode is the legends and the greats that are currently over at Image Engine Design. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / flt that the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty really good with this episodes CGI more then keeping up with this shows already high standard of CGI effects.

This episode ha gotten a lot of hate for having some very distracting cameos and after finally seeing the episode in question I have t agree. As the people that are making these cameos are so well known to the mainstream audience and as such your not seeing the character your just seeing whoever is making the cameo and that really is something that takes you out of the episode because instead of seeing the character of the Bombardier your seeing Jack Black who is a very fine actor as is Christopher Lloyd but even they can't pull of these cameo rules.

This is such a really weird placed episode since it's a more lighthearted episode and hose are usually better placed earlier on in a shows season. However here it's placed third to the end which is usually when a season starts to wrap up that seasons arcs and so having an episode that's more lighthearted and isn't really attached to anything that's going on in this season barring the first and final scene it makes me wonder why this episode was placed here as it would have been better served if it was an earlier episode in this shows third season.

This episode really doesn't do all that good of a job of building up the mercenaries that both The Mandalorian and Bo-Katan Kryze are looking for as credible threats. As they only have one scene at the start of the episode where we see them in action and even then it's a short scene and so there's not really alot of time for us the audience to take in just how ruthless these characters are because there not on screen for that long and then they don't appear again until the very end of episode which makes including them in this episode a complete waste of time.

Now then this episode has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly forty four minuets and fourteen seconds. Which is the perfect running time for this episode to last as when you really get down to it there really isn't alot their interms of plot and story to cover anything longer then that but at the same time tho if you cut out the Lizzo and Jack Black cameos you very easily could have used to time to showing as to why these mercenaries are a threat which in turn would have made the episode alot better and i will admit that this episode does have some really good pacing to it.

So now then since this is an action show that means that I have to actually talk about the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad. However that's also the issue as this episodes action wasn't all that good either as while we did get to see some cool moments alot of it just felt dull and boring in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this episode quite clearly isn't the best episode of this show but at the same tie I don't think that it marks the start of this show declining in quality either as any show can and indeed do have some bad episodes in them and this episode is just one of them and nothing more then that in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very episode in this very review and as such that means that this very episode earns itself a grand old score of exactly a 6.5 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from the official Star Wars fandom wiki page and Google Images. With my personally preferred website to use to get the images from these very episodes that I used in this very review being the official Star Wars fandom wiki page simply just due to the fact that alot of the images that are featured / up and on the official Star Wars fandom wiki page are all fairly high in quality and as well as being fairly freaking high in definition.
