Batman: The Doom That Came To Gotham Film Review

It really hasn't been a good few months for Warner Bros Animation with Velma tanking on HBO Max and a direct to DVD animated Scooby-Doo movie leaking in it's entirety online. Well sadly it looks like another movie has leaked online once again in it's entirety since this movie wasn't due out until March 28th of this year and so then join me as I give you my review of the film that is an adaptation of a Mike Mignola comic book mini series with the film in question being called simply just "Batman: The Doom That Came To Gotham" enjoy.

The plot of this film is Bruce Wayne returns of Gotham after twenty years away at sea and when he does he discovers that Gotham is in great danger. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good with this films plot being very engaging and at times being really very entertaining as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is David Giuntoli as Bruce Wayne / Batman , Tati Gabrielle as Kai Li Cain and Christopher Gorham as Oliver Queen / Green Arrow. Also starring in this film is voice acting legend John DiMaggio as James Gordon , Patrick Fabian as Harvey Dent / Two-Face , Brian George as Alfred , Jason Marsden as Dick Grayson and a Young Bruce Wayne , Karan Brar as Sanjay “Jay” Tawde , David Dastmalchian as Grendon , Navid Negahban as Ra’s al Ghul , Emily O'Brien as Talia al Ghul and Martha Wayne , Tim Russ as Lucius Fox , Matthew Waterson as Jason Blood / Etrigan , Jeffrey Combs as Kirk Langstrom , William Salyers as Oswald Cobblepot / The Penguin and Professor Manfurd , Gideon Adlon as Barbara Gordon / Oracle and Plant Creature / Mysterious Woman and Darin De Paul as Thomas Wayne.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad. Since we do get alot of really good performances in this film however there are some actors and actresses in this film that just don't even bother to turn in a good performance in this film and that really does bring down the overall quality of acting that we get in this film which is a shame since the acing is for the most part really good.

Doing the animation for this film is the legends and the greats that are currently over at The Answer Studio. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad. Since you can quite clearly tell that alot of care and attention went into this films animation but at the same time tho this films animation did also look pretty cheap looking and was rather uninspired.

This film is of course adapted from the comic book of the exact same name which was co-written by Hellboy co-creator Mike Mignola and Richard Pace. With the comic book being published from November 2000 to January 2001 and lasting only three issues and while I personally haven't read or even heard of the comic book I can tell right from the cover of the comic book that this film is being pretty faithful to the designs at least when it comes to Batman but weather or not it;s faithful interms of the story or characters I cannot say.

This films does give us alot of backstory for a few of Batman's classic villains some of which aren't really needed. Since we didn't really need to see who the villain was at the start of the film since it adds nothing to the overall plot of the film and was something that could have been left on the cutting room floor but at the same time tho all of the villain origin stories that we got in this film are really cool and it;s always great to see these characters that all know and love in a different century which is always  going to be a really fun and cool and unique idea no matter what media it's in.

I'm not going to lie this film felt like it was a huge rip off of Batman Begins since everything regarding the films plot was also done in Batman Begins right now to Bruce Wayne leaving Gotham City for a number of years. All this did was remind me that I could have been watching a much more better film granted they most likely lifted this films plot right from the book but when the plot of  one movie is almost the exact same plot of another and better Batman movie then maybe you should look into making some changes in order to make your films plot standout alot more.

Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour ad twenty six minuets and twenty seconds. Which for a film like this one is such a short running time since it means that the film has to rush along to it's plot point and as such it can't fully develop it's mystery or it's characters with it's mystery element being so thin that it might as well as not even be there and it's characters being so one dimensional that they come of as being cardboard cut outs and not fully formed characters both of which could have been solved if this film had a much longer running time and this is also true for this films pacing which really does make this film feel alot more longer then what it actually is.

So now then since this is an action film that means that I have to actually talk about the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad. With this films action being one of the more entertaining parts of the film since that was when the film got fairly creative with it's visuals which helped to make the films action a visual treat for the eyes to see in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this film had all of the potential to be a great Batman direct to DVD animated film but it just falls under it;s weight which is a shame because when this film is good it;s great but sadly this film is pretty bad for all of the reasons that i've listed an then some in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then  i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that means that this very film earns itself a grand old score of exactly a 6 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images tat I personally use in this very review from the official DC Database fandom wiki page , the official Batman fandom wiki page and Google Images. With my personally preferred website that I personally preferred to use to get the images that I personally used in this very review being the wonderful Google Images since all of the images that are currently up and and featured / presented to us on Google Images are all fairly high in quality and as well as being really fairly freaking high in definition.
