Worzel Gummidge "The Crowman" Review

I don't really think that I need to tell you just how much that I love this show because I think that by now it should be pretty obvious.Heck I love this show much that I actively look forward to watching and then reviewing an episode of this show because of the of act that this show is just a pure joy to watch and it never fails to make me smile and so the join me as I review that really doesn't live up to it's name with the episode in question being called simply just "The Crowman" enjoy.

The plot of this episode is Mrs. Bloomsbury-Barton asks The Crowman to make her a decorative Scarecrow Worzel then asks his creator to make him a handsome head. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad with this episodes plot being pretty thin but also being really entertaining as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this episode is of course Doctor Who star Jon Pertwee as Worzel Gummidge , Jeremy Austin as John Peters and Charlotte Coleman as Sue Peters. Also starring in this episode is Geoffrey Bayldon as The Crowman , Mike Berry as Mr. Peters , Megs Jenkins as Mrs. Braithwaite , Carry On franchise star Joan Sims as Mrs. Bloomsbury-Barton and Last Of The Summer Wine star Sarah Thomas as Enid The Maid.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty really good. Which is really nothing new for this show as the acting in every single of this episode is just that good with every single cast member turning in some truly great performances all of which is helped by this episodes script which while not as good as the script for the other episodes is still a really good script.

For an episode that's titles The Crowman The Crowman himself actually doesn't appear all that much in the episode. Which is a shame because when he does appear in the episode we do get some truly wonderful scenes and heck the idea of him of building a scarecrow from scratch is a really good idea and it's one that could have been the focus of the episode but as it is he feels alot more like a side character when if anything this is an episode when he really should have been the main character in the episode.

This is also the episode where The Crowman finds out that Worzel has been walking and talking infront John and Sue. This was something that I often wondered about as i've seen clips on Youtube from what are later episodes and he knows that John and Sue are friends of Worzel's and so it was nice to see which episode he found out that bit of information from my only real issue is since we know that The Crowman has ways of finding out things from i'm guessing his birds then he would already know what Worzel has been up to.

I really did like that we got to see more of a father and son dynamic between Worzel and The Crowman which is something that suits those characters perfectly. As it does oddly make sense for them to have that kind of a relationship as The Crowman did make Worzel and so in a roundabout way he is the father of Worzel and to see that play out in this episode as was seeing him strongly erge Worzel not have a handsome head as he knows that that won;t fix anything but still allows him to have one so that he can learn from his mistake.

Speaking of the handsome head this episodes lesson is one that we could all do with relearning as the lesson is if you want to be treated fairly and kindly by others then you yourself have to be kind to them. However while this is a great message and one that's more relevant now thanks to websites such as Twitter it's one that gets lost in the third act as when Worzel does go around acting nice to people around the village he gets viciously and violently beheaded and dismembered and so it kind of sends a mixed message on what the actual lesson of the episode is and yes I know that Worzel was horrible to the person that attacked him at the start of the episode but it doesn't change the fact that going of off what The Crowman said then Worzel shouldn't have been attacked as that made the evil and scary female scarecrow seem ugly on the inside.

Now then I cannot for the absolutely life of me remember whatever this episodes running time was I do know that for a fact hat this episode has / had an exact grand total running time of roughly twenty four minuets. Which I felt was a bit short for this episode as there was more then enough story there to cover something that's more closer to thirty minuets as all you'd have to do is just expand on the story and add in more scenes with The Crowman and that's it but I will admit that this episode does have some really good pacing to it.

So now then since this is a comedy that I have to actually talk about the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad as there was some decent jokes in this episode. The issue is tho that there was alot more bad jokes in this episode then there was good jokes which is a shame because when this episode tells a good joke you really do know it in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this episode was one that's full of wasted potential as it had the potential to be one of the best of this first series and yet for one reason or another it just couldn't live up to that potential in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very episode in this very review and as such that means that this very episode earns itself a grand old score of exactly a 7.5 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from Amazon . Co . Uk , Wikipedia and Google Images. With my personally preferred website that I personally preferred to use to get the images that I personally used in this very review being the wonderful Google Images since all of the images that are currently up and and featured / presented to us on Google Images are all fairly high in quality and as well as being really fairly freaking high in definition.
