The Mandalorian "Chapter 9: The Marshal" Review

Star wars fans when I made my first post on The Mandalorian TV show nearly two months ago I had no intention of reviewing any other episodes. However season 2 has just started and well I know what alot of people are going to be talking about for the next few months and well I like getting alot attention (that's a joke by the way) and so here is my review of the season two premier of The Mandalorian with the episode being called "Chapter 9: The Marshal" enjoy the review everyone.

The plot of this episode is everyone's new favourite Mandalorian finds himself on a very familiar planet and has to help a someone get rid of giant something to protect a town of people. I'm being as vague as I can here just because alot of what happens in the episode is so freaking cool that you just have to see the episode for yourselves and as for what I thought about the plot of the episode it was fairly decent it was nothing spectacular but it did it's job of keeping me entertained really well and that for me is always a good thing.

Starring in this episode is Pedro Pascal as The Mandalorian , Timothy Olyphant as Cobb Vanth and Amy Sedaris as Peli Motto. Also starring in the episode is John Leguizamo as Gor Koresh , Isaac C. Singleton as Twi'lek Doorman , David Choe as Ringside Spectator , Miguel A. Lopez as Tusken Raider #1 , Xavier Jimenez as Tusken Raider #2 , Leilani Shui as Jawa , W. Earl Brown as Weequay Proprietor , Dietrich Gray as Mos Pelgo Villager , Karisma Gideon as Jo and Dylan Curtis as Mos Pelgo Boy.

This show from the few episodes of the show that i've seen has a very high bar when it comes to the acting in any given episode and i'm glad to say that that streak continues with this episode. Since the acting from all of the cast members including the extras is so freaking good all of the actors in this episode really do a good job with this episode and to me it helps that the script and the writing is so freaking good and so all the actors have to do is just say the lines as there written and a good performance will come naturally.

After doing a lot of looking around Google Images I finally found the picture I wanted to represent the CGI in this episode because yeah the CGI in this episode is so freaking good it's unreal. Which shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone since Industrial Light & Magic , Image Engine Design and Base FX all did the CGI work for this episode and the rest of the show and yeah the CGI in this episode is so freaking good these are the kind of effects that you'd expect to see in a theatrically released movie and not a TV show that's how good the effects are in this episode in my opinion.

I'm just going to come right out and say it there are alot of cool as hell moments in this episode and I loved each and every one of them. Sadly tho I cannot say what those moments are because they are spoilers and so your just going to have to trust me when I say that there are alot of cool moments in this episode and to me what makes those cool moments work is the fact that we've gotten to know The Mandalorian character and so when those moments do happen they feel in character for that character and not something the show makers did for the freaking hell of it.

Now I do have some bad things to say about this episode the first of which is a very underwhelming reveal of a certain character. Again i'm trying to be vague here just because there might be some people who like myself didn't know that this character would be in this episode hence why I didn't credit the actor earlier on in the review. The reveal that they gave this character to me was underwhelming and it just felt like a huge let down even more when you take into account that this character us a fan favourite character.

This episode has a running time of fifty four minuets long which I do feel was a bit on the long side just because not alot happens story. As such the episode can get a little bit boring at times which for a show this could should never be the case however given that this show has it's main two characters (Baby Yoda and The Mandalorian) meeting a new set of characters every single week there will of course be episodes that do feel a bit boring in places.

To me this episode felt like it was a western with The Mandalorian character taking on the role of a stranger who has just wondered into town and ends up helping save the town from a bully or in this case an intergalactic monster. That to me is one of this shows strongest suits because it can take on any genre it wants and yet it would still be a good show because it has the writing and everything else to back it up and plus this means that no two episodes are the same episode two is different from episode one and episode three is different from episode four because they all take on different kind of genre's of film and TV.

Now then boys and girls since this is an action show that does mean that we have to talk about the action that's in this episode. Which i'm not going to lie is where alot of the episodes coolest moments come with the entire third act just being one cool as hell action scene and it's because of that fact that I cannot name what my favourite action scene because well all of them are and hell i'd recommend this episode just for the action alone since all of the action scenes in this episode are plain and simply cool as all hell in my opinion.

Overall this was a very welcome return episode for this show and if this episode is anything to go by then season two is going to be getting better and better with each episode. That being said there are a few bad things in the episode at least from what I found there are at least to me those bad things didn't always take away from the episode as such this episode gets a 9 out of 10 from me and let me know in the comments below if you want to see me cover more episodes from either the second or even the first season of The Mandalorian TV show.

All of the images that I used in this review were gathered from either Google Images or the official The Mandalorian fandom wiki page. Since I got the overall majority of images that I used in this review from the official The Mandalorian fandom wiki page I have no choice but to recommend that you guys use the official The Mandalorian fandom wiki page if you want high quality images from either this show or this episode.
