Wednesday Season 2 Part 2 SPOILER FILLED Review

To say that Wednesday has been a huge hit for Netflix would be like saying that The Lion King 1994 was a great movie. As this show has proven that there is still life to be found in the The Addams Family brand with this shoe being so successful that a third season of the show was announced not long before this second season started airing and well part two of season 2 has just dropped and you all knew that I had to check out these remaining four episodes out the first chance that I got and so then join me as I give you my SPOILER FILLED review of the batch of the episodes that has something in it that was spoiled in the trailer for this batch of the episodes with the in question being called simply just "Wednesday" enjoy.

The plot of these episodes is with Enid's upcoming death coming closer and closer Wednesday must find a way to prevent it from happening once and for all. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in these very episodes well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in these very episodes was in all honesty not that bad with the plot of these episodes being at best pretty decent but in saying that tho the plot to the first four episodes was more better as it while it did lean in heavily on the friendship between Enid and Wednesday it also had a genuinely compelling story to tell where as here with this batch of episodes it was missing having a really compelling story that makes it worth sitting through these four episodes with it feeling as if the makers of the show only had enough plot for about five episodes and somehow had to find a way to stretch that plot out to eight episodes as there are alot of things in this batch of episodes that could have been left out and nothing that's actually important to the plot of these episodes would have been missed as alot of what we get in these four episodes being nothing more then filler episodes as they add nothing to the overall plot of the season which was a really good plot it's just that it could have used a bit more focus in these final four episodes however tho in saying that the plot for these four episodes was one that was still really good as it does still work as a plot it's just that the plot to the previous four episodes was the more stronger of the two plots with the plot of these episodes also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in these episodes is one of this shows executive producers Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams and Steve Buscemi as Barry Dort. Also starring in these episodes is Emma Myers as Enid Sinclair , Hunter Doohan as Tyler Galpin , Joy Sunday as Bianca Barclay , Moosa Mostafa as Eugene Ottinger , Georgie Farmer as Ajax Petropolus , Isaac Ordonez as Pugsley Addams , Owen Painter as Slurp , Billie Piper as Isadora Capri , Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo as Ritchie Santiago , Victor Dorobantu as Thing , Noah Taylor as Bruno Yuson , Evie Templeton as Agnes DeMille , Luis Guzmán as Gomez Addams , Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams , Joonas Suotamo as Lurch , Christopher Lloyd as Professor Orloff , Heather Matarazzo as Judi Stonehearst , Fred Armisen as Uncle Fester , Anthony Michael Hall as Ron Kruger , Frances O'Connor as Francoise Galpin , Lady Gaga as Rosaline Rotwood , Gracy Goldman as Gabrielle Barclay and Dame Joanna Lumley as Grandmama.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in these very episodes well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally tought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in these very episodes was in all honesty really good. Which is something that's not really all that surprising as as every single episode of this show has had some really good acting in it and therefor it does make sense that all of the acting in these four episodes be just as good as alot of the actors that are in these four episodes are either A reprising their roles from other episodes of the show or B just some really good actors in there own right either way it does mean that we are always going to be getting some really good acting in this show from all involved with the best actor in these batch episodes both a tie between Jenna Ortega and Emma Myers for no other reason then what they do in episode six of this season as without giving anything away about that episode both of those actors do something that would have been really hard for even the best actors to pull off and yet they somehow manage to it and do it well with there acting together in these episodes being really good as you get to see the struggle that each of them goes through in these batch of episodes and it is something that really does shine through in the actors performances with the acting that's in these vert episodes really being helped by the fact that the scripts for these episodes are so good that all this shows actors have to do is just say the lines as they are a written and a good performance will come out of them naturally.

Doing the CGI for these episodes is Alter Ego , CoSA VFX , Folks VFX , Herne Hill Media , Incessant Rain Studios , Monsters Aliens Robots Zombies , PowerHouse VFX , Rocket Science VFX , Rodeo FX , Scanline VFX , Take 5 VFX , VFX Legion and WeFX. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in these very episodes well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in these episodes was in all honesty really good as while the effects of The Hyde creature still don't look that good as the creature does have a very cartoonish looking design to him here in these episodes he mostly kept in the dark which is something that does help out alot even more o when you take into account that creature's design is more laughable then it is scary and given the fact that this season put alot more focus on horror it does make sense that The Hyde would be featured alot more in shadows and darkness with alot of the other effects in these episodes being really good as all they are are simply background replacements and set extensions alot of which you won't really notice unless your actually looking for it with the show in general putting alot of focus on doing effects for real instead of in an computer which is something that's to be applauded as practical effects will always trump CGI effects any day of the week as CGI effects even when there done really well will always date really quickly where as when practical effects are done just as well can be timeless and the fact that the makers of this show are only using CGI when it's needed and not when they want to does say that they have a passion for doing things practically.

SPOILERS START HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There was one thing that really should have been kept hidden in the trailer for these episodes and that's the fact that we get the return of Gwendoline Christie as Larissa Weems. With her now being Wednesday's new spirit guide which is something that would have been a really cool reveal were it not in quite literally the opening shot of the trailer for these episodes and even then it could have been argued that it was in there because they might be faking us out and maybe it's someone else that's her new spirit but nope they don't do any of that which now means that people who did see the trailer for Part 2 would have gotten a huge plot twist spoiled for them as yes people would have been watching the trailer just due to the fact that this show does have quite the fanbase they even could have hid who it was by filming new footage with another actor just to be in the trailer so why they chose to reveal what admittedly isn't that big of a spoiler in the trailer is so weird but thankfully they didn't spoil the fact that we get a pretty cool cameo from Casper Van Dien where he plays someone who helped to con Bianca's mom years earlier and is back working with Principal Barry to con Grandmama out of her money only for him to get turned into ash when Dort turns on him because he wanted a fair share of the money with these episodes having plenty of scenes in them that thankfully didn't get spoiled by the trailer for these episodes but it still weird that the makers of this show would openly choose to spoil something that's a small twist in the plot in the trailers for these episodes but then not do anything new or even interesting with that twist.

If you all saw the last Wednesday review I did you'd know that I had a theory about who a certain character was and well I was wrong. As the person that I thought that Wednesday saved at the end of episode four would turn out to be Ophelia Frump it turns out that the person that she rescued was Francoise Galpin who is Tyler's mom which is a bit of weak reveal even more so when the show does nothing with it as she openly says to Morticia that Wednesday is her angel for rescuing her when she gave up all hope on ever seeing her son again and yet she spends the vast majority of these remaining four episodes trying to kill her all because her recent discovered brother Isaac Night who prior to getting his own name back was Pugsley's pet zombie Slurp wants her dead which does make it seem like the makers of this show really had no idea what to do with her character as there is alot of flip flopping around when it comes to her character as one episode she openly wants to kill of the entire Addams Family even tho Wednesday saved her life just a few episodes prior and then the next she's not willing to hurt anyone with her being more then happy to help out her brother and son from the sidelines while they risk their lives to get her to this machine that will remove her own Hyde like powers from her and thus save her life in the process and while we do get a glimpse of Ophelia at the end of episode eight it's literally just a cameo to set up the fact that she might be appearing in the next season of the show when it would have made more sense for her to be the one that got rescued by Wednesday in this season given the fact that they kept on mentioning her all the time and while showing us Tyler's mom was a solid plot twist the writing for the character really did let her down even down to the fact that she and her brother act really creepy when there around each other as well which is something that does put you off of both characters.

Speaking of the villain in these four episodes Isaac Night is actually alot more better of a villain then what Judi was earlier on in the season. As Isaac does at the very least act like a threatening villain who really does believe that he's doing the right thing by trying to kill of first Gomez and then Pugsley and finally the entire family with his end goal even being one that is quite noble as the only thing that he wants to do is to make his sister better and prevent her from dying and that's really it which is a noble goal it's only how he goes about it that makes him evil with him even showing that he does somewhat care for Tyler as in the final episode at his sister request he does use his powers put Tyler on the table that he was going to put his sister on and starts to use the machine of him to strip Tyler of his yde like powers as his mom does now just how deadly that these powers could be when they don't have a master to control and while Wednesday does eventually rescue Pugsley it is something that does course Tyler's mom to use her Hyde powers and thus Wednesday has to free Tyler and so that he can now use his powers to engage his mother in a chase something which does end up with her dying with Isaac even holding his own secret as well as it's revealed that his body is the one that Thing once came from which was a really unique twist as it does give a character that gets very little backstory now getting some lore added to him with it even playing into the episodes third act as it's Thing not Wednesday that defeats Isaac which was something that does make alot of sense as Things whole thing this season has been all about trying to work out wear he belongs an therefor him working with the family that truly loves him instead of the person that was quite literally using him to strangle Wednesday is something that does work well for his character.

Now then these episodes has / had an exact grand total running time of no longer then one hour and nine minuets. Which to be fair to these episodes is pretty much the exact grand total running tome for alot of the episode of the show as all of this shows episodes re usually around about the the hour mark with all of these episodes really having the right amount of the plot there to cover there respective episodes the issue is tho that there really should have been at least one more episode this season as the show goes from a plot driven episode in episode five to a filler episode episode to then suddenly having to wrap up all of the seasons storylines in episodes seven and eight which just isn't enough time to do all of that and when you add in the fact that the season starts of another plot with Enid being revealed as a possible Alpha wolf which means that if she transforms just once more under a full moon then she could remain that way forever something which she is forced to do when Isaac puts Wednesday is his own grave and both Agnes and Enid have to dig her out before it's to late only for it to only be possible for them to have Wednesday if Enid does transform and use her claws to dig her with this plot line feeling like nothing more then set up for season three as it adds nothing to the overall plot of this season with even the shows characters not really getting much development this season with the closest character to get much development being Pugsley and that's really it as the makers of the show seemed to be more focused on letting us know that this is a more horror focused season then in actually giving it's characters some well earned character development but I really will admit that these very episodes really do have some really good pacing to them tho.

So now then as this is a comedy that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in these very episodes and well hen in all honesty i in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in these very episodes was in all honesty not that bad. With there being alot of painfully moments in these batch of episodes alot of which do work really well as they feel true to the characters ad true to the world that this show takes place in with Wednesday having alot of funny one liners alot of which are really funny with Wednesday herself getting the episodes best joke as in episode six both she and Enid have a Freaky Friday moment where they both end up in each others body and when Wednesday as Enid does something that the actual Enid doesn't like as it effects her personal life Enid as Wednesday gets back at her by having her dress in all of these bight and colorful clothes and by going around acting happy and hugging everyone that she meets all the while getting remembered that Wednesday really is allergic to color as she starts itching all over herself all of which is being filmed by some of the students which is just such a funny joke and it makes what is basically a pointless filler episode seem all the more worthwhile as you get see both Emma Myers and Jenna Ortega switch bodies and try to act as the others characters whilst still being there own character with that scene being the funniest scene in all four of these episodes this is despite the fact that all four of these episodes have some really funny moments in them as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

SPOILERS END HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Overall out of the two halves part one was definitely the stronger of the two halves as there was a more interesting plot going on in those episodes where as here whilst there is a more weaker plot the pay off to the plots in part one and the set up for season three was really good in it's own in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in these very episodes in this very review and that does mean that these episodes really do earn themselves a grand old score of exactly a 7.5 out of 10 and the season as whole earns itself a grand old score of exactly an 8.5 out of 10 from me.

Now the as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys an girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from the official The Addams Family fandom wiki page and Google Images. With my personally preferred website to use to get the images from these very episodes that I used in this very review being the really great the official The Addams Family fandom wiki page really simply just due to the fact that really alot of if not really all of the images that are all really from these very episodes with alot of them being better quality then what you'd really think of and all of the images are really of course up and really on the official The Addams Family fandom wiki page are also really all fairly high in quality and as well as them all being really fairly freaking high in definition.

Wednesday: If These Woes Could Talk SPOILER FILLED Review

It really is safe to say that Wednesday is one of the best shows on Netflix right now with the show even being confirmed for a third season before it's second season had even started airing. Speaking of the second season we are now just a week away before the release date of the final four episodes of this season as such it was only about right that I review the mid season finale for the show and so then join me as I give you my SPOILER FILLED review of the episode that might have a more obscure cameo from a member of the Addams Family in it with the episode in question being called simply just "If These Woes Could Talk" enjoy.

The plot of this episode is Fester and other members of the Addams Family find themselves helping out Wednesday in he investigation but something happens that will shake Wednesday to her very core. Now then interms of that I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty really good with this episodes plot being the kind of plot that you could see working as a plot to an Addams Family movie as the plot of this episode is that big and is that epic but at the same time tho it is a plot that does work well enough for a mid season finale as well as while it does solve one mystery it doesn't resolve the other mystery either which is great as that then gives us more reasons to watch the second half of season 2 with this episodes plot also being an oddly fun episode as well with the only real downside plot wise being the fact that it feels more like the plot of a Fester spin-off show then it does an episode of this show as this episode is a little bit more weird and out there with it's plot where as with the typical Wednesday plot it's usually alot more mysterious with things being drip fed to us the audience and while having a plot that's kind of out there does work for this character as all of the members of the Addams Family are very out there characters it also feels like that it's going against the style of plots from the rest of this show as well with the plot of this episode also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this episode is this shows executive producer Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams and Steve Buscemi as Principal Barry Dort. Also starring in this episode is Emma Myers as Enid Sinclair , Hunter Doohan as Tyler Galpin , Joy Sunday as Bianca Barclay , Moosa Mostafa as Eugene Ottinger , Georgie Farmer as Ajax Petropolus , Isaac Ordonez as Pugsley Addams , Owen Painter as Slurp , Billie Piper as Isadora Capri , Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo as Sheriff Ritchie Santiago , Victor Dorobantu as Thing , Noah Taylor as Bruno Yuson , Evie Templeton as Agnes DeMille , Thandiwe Newton as Dr. Rachael Fairburn , Christopher Lloyd as Professor Orloff , Joonas Suotamo as Lurch , Heather Matarazzo as Judi , Frances O'Connor as Francoise Galpin , Christina Ricci as Marilyn Thornhill , Fred Armisen as Uncle Fester and Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty really good. With all of this episodes actors turning in some really good performances which is something that really does make alot of sense as alot of this episodes actors are reprising their roles from the previous season and therefor do have a better grip on how best to portray there respective characters but even those that joined the show in this season are still really good with alot of them being more then capable of holding their own acting wise when it comes to acting against the more established series stars and while it would be very tempting to say that Jenna Ortega is the best actor in this episode the fact is that that's not even close to being true as that honor goes to Fred Armisen who does make for a really good Uncle Fester with him more then capturing the characters more eccentric nature whilst also showing us that much like his niece he to does use people alot of the time and while Fred won't ever be able to top what Christopher Lloyd did with the characters in the nineties movies he does take the character and make him his own in this episode which is something that does make the character feel fresh and new all over again with the acting that's in this episode really being helped by the fact that the scrips for this episode is just so good that all this episodes actors have to do is just say the lines as they are written and a good performance will come out of them naturally which is something that really does help to raise the overall quality of the acting that's in this very episode.

Doing the CGI for this episode is Alter Ego , CoSA VFX , Folks VFX , Herne Hill Media , Incessant Rain Studios , Monsters Aliens Robots Zombies , PowerHouse VFX , Rocket Science VFX , Rodeo FX , Scanline VFX , Take 5 VFX , VFX Legion and WeFX. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad as this episodes CGI was for a streaming TV show really impressive but at the same time tho The Hyde creature whilst it does look better in this episode still looks a little bit like a cartoon with the only reason that it looks so good in this episode being due to the fact that the camera doesn't really focus on it much and when it does the episode quickly cuts away from it which does help things but at the same time tho the creature still looks pretty bad and if this is something that's not going to be fixed then the makers of this show will have to consider not using The Hyde as a character as the fans of this show have been saying since season 1 that it doesn't look that good and whilst it does look a little bit better this season it's still a bad looking creature with the rest of the episodes CGI mainly being background replacements and set enhancements all of which do look pretty good as those are the only reason as to why CGI should even be used in the first place as all your doing is changing things that couldn't be done on the day as there shouldn't be bad CGI doubles of characters as all those do is age the effects more quickly.

SPOILERS START HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

While there is one major name that I didn't mention in this review that of course being the fact that we have Dame Joanna Lumley as Grandmama she really doesn't do all that much in this episode and so it really wasn't worth mentioning her. However the character that does get to do quite alot in this episode is Uncle Fester so much so that at times this does feel like a test episode of a possible Uncle Fester spinoff show as while the episode does still tie into the main plot of this season and feature alot of the main actors there's alot more focus given to Uncle Fester then what there was last season where he only appeared in a guest role in one episode where as here he takes centre stage with Wednesday enlisting his help in finding out just who or what Lois is and what she or it has to do with Willow Hill Hospital which he does by willingly getting himself committed there which in all fairness to the episode does seem like something that he would do as is the fact that to him a mental hospital is more like a holiday which only serves to make all of his scenes in the hospital all the more fun to watch but at the same time tho we come to a show called Wednesday expecting to see her be the main character of the episode and yet here she felt more like the side character which again in all fairness to the episode might have been because of the fact that they might have been filming other episodes of the show and so it just worked out easier to have only be in a few key scenes in this episode but again they could have had play a more active role in the plot of episode instead of just sitting around alot of the time until the third act of the episode.

At the start of the review I mentioned that this episode might possibly feature a cameo from an obscure member of the Addams Family as if you recall when Fester and Wednesday are looking at the Lois inmates where there at Willow Hill. There's one character that doesn't get name checked in the episode and it's also the only one that Wednesday willingly helps at the end of the episode as well as I do very strongly believe that that character is Ophelia Addams as it does seem weird that they would shout out the names of alot of the other inmates but not her and given the fact that the character was said to be at that hospital it does sort of make sense that that unnamed character would be her with the episode even ending on a cliffhanger with Tyler in fully on Hyde mode throwing Wednesday out of a top floor window in the hospital and leaving her severely injured and while we know that she won't die as the show had already been renewed for a third season it was still weird that the trailer for part 2 of season 2 would straight up reveal that not only does she survive this incident but also that Larissa Weems is her new spirit guide something which would have been more of a surprise if we didn't know it was coming as then you could have the shock value of seeing Gwendoline Christie again in the show and we could also be left wondering if and how Wednesday did survive the fall at the end of this episode but now none of that is possible because of the fact that the first seconds of the trailer tells us not only is Wednesday alive and well but also just who her new spirit guide is in the first place as all that does is ruin what could have been some really cool surprises when the makers of this show wouldn't have had to have done that much promote season 2 part 2 as alot of people would have been watching it in the first place due to how popular that this show is in the first place.

Whilst this show has always had horror elements to it even dating back to it's first ever episode the show especially in the first season always found that perfect mixture between horror and comedy. This is something that was kind of lost in this half of season 2 with there being more of a focus on the horror aspect of the show then the comedy aspect of it with the worst example of this being in this episode where we get to see several characters including Marilyn Thornhill who quite literally gets stabbed in the back by The Hyde with other characters getting their brains eaten by Slurp and while it does make sense for them to have a heavier focus on horror in this episode in particular due to the fact it is the mid season finale and they do need to give us a hook for the rest of the season by focusing more on the one aspect not enough on the other it makes the comedy aspect of the episode seem alot more weaker in comparison when even the makers of this show have proven in season one that they can balance the two of them out really well by having these really dark jokes happen either just before or just after someone is killed off and yet here they got rid of all of that just to focus more on the horror aspect of the show and while yes there is still some jokes in this episode it kind of felt like that they were taking a backseat when compared to the shows horror elements and while yes The Addams Family has always been a horror brand they all knew when to tell a joke and when to be creepy and cooky as well with even the recent animated movies still having that fine balance between horror and comedy as you have to have that fine balance in order to be a horror comedy.

Now then this episode has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour and nineteen seconds. Which to be fair to this episode that is a perfectly solid running time for this episode with this episode having the right amount of plot there to really cover that amount of running time and while this episode doesn't really use it's running time by fully developing it's plot or it's characters it could be argued that both the plot of this episode and it's characters get developed in the previous episodes of the show which would be a fair argument as they do get alot of development in the other episodes and therefor they don't really need developing in this episode as there's nothing that the makers of this episode could have done without repeating themselves and with this episode being the mid-season finale they don't really need to develop any of it's plot or characters but what they could have done is give more screen time to characters that we're going to get to know about in part 2 like Grandmama for example who only appears in a few scenes before not being mentioned again in the episode and Barry Dort who again only gets a few scenes all of which just hit home the point that he's got something to do with the seasons big mystery and that's really it it still would have been nice if we got more scenes with either character as that could then make us the audience think either there evil or there good guys but because of the fact that the episode doesn't do that we get to find out very little about Grandmama and nothing new about Barry Dort is revealed in the episode but i really will admit that this episode really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is a comedy that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in is very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad. As while the episode doesn't have that great of a focus on it's comedy we still get alot of really decent jokes in this episode with Fester getting alot of this episodes jokes which is something that does make alot of sense as the character does allow for there to be alot of weird jokes due to his own eccentric personality but at the same time tho it would have worked more in the episodes favor if the episode did have a fifty fifty balance between its horror aspect and its comedy aspect with even Wednesday getting a few decent one liners in tis episode but they don't top anything that Fester says or does in this episode as he does have alot of really funny jokes in this episode with the best joke in the whole episode being when Fester zaps Agnes DeMille just because of the fact that he can hear her lurking but then what really sells the joke is the fact that he then gives her advice on how to lurk in silence something which she happily takes on board which is a really solid joke and one that feels true to both characters and while the hotel bathroom scene with Fester is also really funny just due to how well done that that joke is it's also one that you know is an act because of the fact that he's openly trying to get himself committed where as the one with Agnes is one that you don't really see coming and therefor it catches you of guard due to how good of a joke that it is in the first place in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

SPOILERS END HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Overall if the ending of this episode is anything to go by then we are in for hell of ride next week when part 2 of this current season drops as this episode despite it feeling more like an episode for a Fester spinoff show then a Wednesday show is still a really good episode in it's own right in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very episode in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very episode really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 7.5 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from the official The Addams Family fandom wiki page and Google Images. With my personally preferred website to use to get the images from this very episode that I used in this very review being the really great the official The Addams Family fandom wiki page really simply just due to the fact that really alot of if not really all of the images that are all really from this very episode with alot of them being better quality then what you'd really think of and all of the images are really of course up and really on the official The Addams Family fandom wiki page are also really all fairly high in quality and as well as them all being really fairly freaking high in definition.

Wednesday Series Two Part One SPOILER FILLED Review

After quite literally years of waiting the little show that took both Netflix and the world by storm a few years ago is now back with it's long awaited second season. As I was such a huge fan of the first season of the show and love The Addams Family to death you all just knew that I had to check out these first four episodes of the show and so then join me as I give you my SPOILER FILLED review of the first of half of the second season of the show that aired on the right day of the week with the show in question being called simply just "Wednesday" enjoy.

The plot for these first four episodes is when Wednesday returns to Nevermore Academy she finds herself very popular and now has to deal with with a stalker all the main while trying to solve another murder case one which is linked to the school itself. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / to us in these very episodes well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in these very episodes was in all honesty not that bad as the plot it self was something that was handled really well for the most part as for alot of these first four episodes it does feel like that there's alot more plots going on which does make the seasons main plot far feel unfocused as the shows is juggling several different plots two more of which do feature members of The Addams Family with so far one of them not really being that well received with that being the plot that Pugsley has in these episodes which to be fair isn't the best of plots but at the same time it was never going to be as it was always going to be the more lighthearted comic relief subplot for the season and that's really it but in saying that it does eat up screen time that could have been taken up with making the seasons plot of Wednesday trying to solve this murder feel alot more stronger then what it actually is but that is something that could get fixed when the shows drops it's final four episodes for this season in a months time with the plot of these episodes really being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in these episodes is one of this shows executive producers Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams and Steve Buscemi as Barry Dort. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in these very episodes well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in these very episodes was in all honey really good. Which is something that's to be expected from this show as alot of this shows actors are a bunch of really good actors in their own with even pretty much the entire first season having some really good acting in it and therefor it would make alot of sense for this season to so far carry on that trend only now the acting does seem to be alot more better as the actors that are returning from the first season will of course be alot more comfortable with there characters and would of course know there characters a little bit more better and what kind of performance would best suit there respective characters as well with even the shows new actors like for example Steve Buscemi and Dame Joanna Lumley not only holding their own when it comes to acting with some of the actors from the previous season but also turning some really good performances in their own right with of course the best actor in these first four episodes being Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams as she is just such a joy to watch not only in these first four episodes but in the show as a whole with it being very crystal clear that she's having a blast playing this character and that is something that you can see in all the frames that she's in in these first four episodes with the acting that's in these very episodes really being helped by the fact that all of the scripts for these very episodes are just so good that all these episodes actors have to do is just say the lines as they are written and a good performance will come out of them naturally which is something that really does help to raise the overall quality of the acting that's in these first four episodes.

Doing he CGI for these episodes is Alter Ego , CoSA VFX , Folks VFX , Herne Hill Media , Incessant Rain Studios , Monsters Aliens Robots Zombies , PowerHouse VFX , Rocket Science VFX , Scanline VFX , Take 5 VFX , VFX Legion and WeFX. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in these very episodes well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in these very episodes was in all honesty not that bad as there are some pretty good CGI effects to be found in these first four episodes but at the same time tho you can still tell that this show has a TV effects budget as there are some effects like on the ravens for example that do look a little bit two fake almost as if they were added in at the last possible minuet but in saying that tho a character like Thing who at times is a fully CGI effect does look really good with there beings tons of character added to him that helps to make him more of a fully formed character and without giving anything away the one effect that alot of people could all agree upon was really bad in the first season returns in this season and it's aged well with it looking even more like a cartoon character then what it was in the previous season with it making you wonder why the makers of this show didn't take the time that they already had due to the three year gap between seasons to improve upon that effect and make it look like that it was actually there on the day instead of choosing to make it look like something that looks like that it would be more at home a kids cartoon halloween special.

SPOILERS START HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One of the biggest issues that the first season faced was not having alot of the other members of The Addams Family in it for longer periods of time. This is something that is thankfully fixed in episode one of these episodes as Morticia takes up post at the school at the behest of the schools new Principal with her being in charge of getting funds for the school with Gomez staying because he doesn't want to leave her side and even Pugsley stays around this season enrolling as a new student with both Morticia and Gomez even having Lurch with them as well this right there is a huge step up from what they did in the previous season where they only had the main family members show up for an episode or two and that's really it and yet now that there here we the audience get to the chance to see alot more of the family dynamic with the only two family members to get a real plot together this season being Morticia and Wednesday as they are trying to learn to come together as one and not to be fighting all of the time however there not the only members of the family that show up in these episodes as we also get Uncle Fester and Grandmama showing up in the shows fourth episode with it being reveled throughout these first four episodes that both Morticia and Grandmama shared a very similar relationship to what she and Wednesday currently have all due to the fact that Grandmama possibly had Moritica's sister Ophelia Addams sent to the same hospital that Wednesday is currently investigating and heck it could even be argues that family is a key theme this season as even Bianca Barclay has somewhat of a subplot involving her mother in these first four episodes as well and while none of the plots do get resolved by the end of episode four it is something that does make wonder just how they can resolve these plots in ways that not only feel true to the characters and the show but also be satisfactory to those who are watching the show as well.

With this season of the show being split up into two parts that does mean that episode four has to end on a cliffhanger and well the cliffhanger is a good one. As it ends with the possibility of Wednesday being dead after being thrown out the top floor of the hospital window by Tyler Galpin in his Hyde form this is after another character from the previous season in this case a returning Christina Ricci as Marilyn Thornhill / Laurel Gates who does try to convince him that she's still on his side but he this time just doesn't believe and uses his claws to kill her with the first four episodes making some great use of the hospital set in all of the episodes in which is appears with it even taking centre stage in the shows fourth episode but at the same time these four episodes do lean alot more on the horror aspect of the show then it does the comedy aspect of it so much so that you might be forgiven for forgetting that this is a horror comedy and therefor things should be more balanced like they were in the first season which yes did have it's fair share of horror moments in it as well but it also knew when to stop being a straight up horror show and be a comedy where as with these first four episodes it does feel like there skewing a little bit two much into being a straight up horror show when that's something that The Addams Family should never be as they should always be the kind of horror comedy that you could perhaps show to little kids and while this show has always been mature in it's story telling and presentation it still does feel weird when they openly show a character bleeding due to being stabbed which would work if this was a straight up horror show but given that these four episodes did go out their way to show off more horror then they did comedy it is something that makes you wonder if the rest of this season and even the upcoming third season will lean more into the horror aspect of the show which if so then you might as well just drop the comedy aspect all together as it won't a horror comedy at that point as it would be a straight up horror show.

If you loved Enid last season then odds are your not going to like these first four episodes all that much as she and Wednesday don't spend alot of time together which is something that they do have an in story reason for. As when Wednesday has a really intense psychic vision on the first day of school she sees Enid grave with Enid herself straight up telling her that she killed her and that's all Wednesdays fault with being what kicks of the storyline for this season as Wednesday has to try and figure how Enid's upcoming death is connected to all of these murders which have been going on and are connected to the school in some way however in doing so she doesn't spend alot of time with Enid which is due to her wanting to project her but at the same time all this does is drive the two of them closer as Enid starts to feel left out when Wednesday starts hanging out with a new character called Agnes DeMille who is a superfan of Wednesdays and has the power of invisibility which is something that makes you wonder if Wednesdays vision is more of a self fulfilling prophecy like by trying to avoid causing any harm to Enid she ends up causing the very thing that she didn't want to happen as it's clear as day that they both think of the world of each with Enid even saying that Wednesday is the tunnel to her light with both characters even needing the other as Wednesday needs Enid to keep her grounded and to stop her from getting in her own way and Enid needs to Wednesday as to show her that it's OK to bend the rules and have some fun a little bit of the time as well but in saying that tho if the makers of this show were to have Enid be killed off at the end of the season it would provide an interesting thing for when we get to the third season of Wednesday.

Now then each of episode of this batch of episodes has / had an exact grand total running tome of exactly no longer then one hour and two minuets. With all four of these episodes being around about one hour each which is something that's perfect for these episodes as it's perfectly inline with the first season as alot of those episodes had a very similar running time as well with these first four episodes even having the right amount of plot there to really cover there respective running times but in saying that tho these four episodes really doesn't use there running times all that wisely as the man plot for this season thus far isn't that well developed but that is something that could be fixed by the time that the season has finished airing tho but you always want to lead with your best foot forward and so far these episodes aren't doing a good job of developing the main plot as all of the seasons other plots are all fighting for screen time when it would have made more sense to cut down on the number of plots and not give every single a character this season a storyline even more so if it cuts into the running time that could have been sent in developing the main plot of this season with this slightly effecting the shows characters as while the returning characters do of course come of slightly better in this regards due to the first season it's the shows newer characters that do somewhat suffer from a lack of development as while Principal Barry Dort doesn't really get that much development in these four episodes that's more due to the fact that he's being used as a red herring as the show does put alot of focus on him being the big bad for this season with really the only character that does suffer from a lack of development being Agnes DeMille who goes from being this creepy stalker character to being someone who is just obsessed with Wednesday and willing to help her out with there being no rhyme or reason for the sudden character change but I really will admit that these episodes really does have some really good pacing in them tho.

So now then as this is a comedy that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in these first four episodes and well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very first four episodes was in all honesty not that bad. As while there aren't that many laugh out moments like there was in the first season that's more due to thew fact that the makers of this show are putting more of an effort on into the shows horror aspect then it is in creating some actually funny jokes but to be fair to these first fur episodes they do still keep all of Wednesdays killer one liners all of which are really funny jokes and do feel perfectly in line with her character with the best joke in the whole entire first half of the season being when Fester is in the hotel before getting himself committed to the mental hospital when the police burst in on him he's there in the bath just singing along to self and he just turns to the where the policemen are and he just smiles which yes granted is a really stupid joke but at the same time tho it's something that does feel completely in line with this character as is the fact that in episode one Pugsley uses his new lightening powers to take out a stop sign which in turn causes a huge accident all of which the Addams's fail to notice behind them with those two jokes proving that the makers of this show do still know how to tell a good joke that's in the spirit of The Addams Family which dies make you wonder they chose to focus more on horror when alot of the jokes that there telling in these first four episodes whilst they aren't as good as the ones in the first season they all still work really well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

SPOILERS END HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Overall while these first four episodes could have been alot more better it's still great to be back in these world with these characters and the fact that the show has already been confirmed for a third season does say that the show does have legs with these first batch of episodes more then proving that fact in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all o the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in these very episodes that are in this very review and as such that really does mean that these very episodes really does earn themselves a grand old score of exactly a 7.5 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally sued in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from the official The Addams Family fandom wiki page and Google Images.

Wednesday: Chapter I: Wednesday's Child Is Full Of Woe Review

In exactly one week from today the show that made The Addams Family more well known to the Tiktok crowd comes back. With there not only being a second series of the show but also a recently CONFIRMED third series as well it's safe to say that this show isn't going anywhere for a good long while and as such I thought that i'd go back and review the episode that started it all and so then join me as I review the episode that sees Wednesday basically join Hogwarts with the episode in question being called simply just "Chapter I: Wednesday's Child Is Full Of Woe" enjoy.

The plot of this episode is when she is expelled from high school Wednesday is sent to the same school where her parents fell in love. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that he actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad. As even tho it was hard to summarize just what the plot of this episode is that's more due to the streaming nature of this show and not due to the quality of the plot itself as here in this first episode all we get is what is the set up for this first series and that's it and well to bee fair in a streaming show that's really all you need as people can always just watch the next episode right away if the set up is good enough like it was here as while we do get alot of the series overall plot in this episode which was sprinkled all throughout the episode it didn't over power the main plot of this episode which was Wednesday just getting adjusted to this new school and meeting all of these new characters as instead the series overall plot and the episodes plot worked hand in hand together and while yes granted the episodes plot could have been alot more stronger as if anything the plot that was summarized could have been the basic premise of the episode as it's not that strong of plot and not really focused on that much but again it doesn't need to be as we have all of the other episodes right there to watch and while first impressions are everything this episode does leave a good enough first impressions that you can somewhat forgive it for not having the most strongest of plots with the plot of this episode also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this episode is Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams and Gwendoline Christie as Principal Larissa Weems. Also starring in this episode is Emma Myers as Enid Sinclair , Riki Lindhome as Dr. Valerie Kinbott , Victor Dorobantu as Thing , Jamie McShane as Sheriff Donovan Galpin , Hunter Doohan as Tyler Galpin , Percy Hynes White as Xavier Thorpe , Joy Sunday as Bianca Barclay , Georgie Farmer as Ajax Petropolus , Naomi J. Ogawa as Yoko Tanaka , Christina Ricci as Marilyn Thornhill , Luis Guzmán as Gomez Addams , Isaac Ordonez as Pugsley Addams , Iman Marson as Lucas Walker , Max Pemberton as Dalton , George Valentin Burcea as Lurch , James Clay as Ethan Hanson , Caroline Lawrie as Martha , Johnna Dias-Watson as Divina , Oliver Watson as Kent , Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo as Deputy Ritchie Santiago , Calum Ross as Rowan Laslow , Cezar Grumăzescu as Coach Vlad , Simon Furness as A Farmer , Islam Bouakkaz as Carter , Morgan Beale as Jonah , Karina Varadi as Young Wednesday Addams , Daniel Himschoot as The Hyde Monster and Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / resented to us in this very episode was in all honesty really good. With alot of this episodes actors turning in some really good performances in this episode and really starting to make there characters really feel there own which is something that must have been hard to do for the episodes legacy characters as each member of The Addams Family have been played by several different people over the decades and yet the actors in this episode still found a way to make them feel like making the characters their own and while yes some actors don't get as much screen time as others as quite literally every single member of The Addams Family except for both Thing and of course Wednesday get around five maybe ten minuets of screen time total and then get written out of the episode which does mean that we the audience really can't get that solid of a handle on their performances but from little of them that we see the actors playing them do do a solid job of portraying these iconic characters with of course the best actor in this whole entire episode being Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams as she just steals every single scene that she's in and is quite clearly just having a blast playing this character with enough actors that's having a blast in this episode being Emma Myers as Enid Sinclair as while she doesn't quite match what Jenna is doing with Wednesday Emma does make Enid seem like a very fun character and someone who is perfect to be friends with Wednesday with both actors really bringing their best work out of each other with the acting that's in this very episode really being helped by the fact that this episodes script is just so good that all this episodes actors have to do is just say the lines as hey are written and a good performances will come out of them naturally which is something that really does help to raise the overall quality of the acting that's in this very episode.

Doing the CGI for this episode is the legends and the greats that are currently over at Agog Special Effects and Rocket Science VFX. Now then interms of what u personally thought / felt about the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual CGU that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad with the episode having alot of really decent looking effects shots in it however that the same time tho the episode does also contain alot of really goofy looking effects as while things like well Thing himself do look good with the same thing also being true for alot of the sky alterations that are in the episode what doesn't look all that good is The Hyde Monster as it does look a little two much like a cartoon character to be taken seriously in a live action setting this is despite the fact that the design for the character does look good and suitably creepy it just needed better quality effects to make it look actually scary and while the piranha fish that Wednesday uses at the start of the episode do look good in some shots in others that do look pretty bad but given that there only in that one scene and aren't seen every again it's forgivable the effects team didn't give them alot of attention as the episode does have alot of other effects that need there attention and therefor it's understandable that they would turn out to OK at best but at the same time tho when the next big effects heavy creature that we see is The Hyde Monster with him looking like a cartoon character it really does make you wonder why the effects team didn't put more time and money into making him look good as they quite clearly had the resources to do so but at the same time it very easily could have been a budget issues as they'd have to stretch out this shows effects budget across several other episodes.

Enid in this episode was a nice addition to the episode as she's everything that Wednesday just isn't which is what makes her a fun character. As there two characters that deep down do need each other as Wednesday wants friends and Enid just needs someone anyone outside of her family to care for her and while that doesn't mean that there infact couple as there not a couple it is something that does make them good friends even if they don't know it with the one thing that makes Enid a really annoying character it's the fact that she's a character that is so obviously meant to be the character that todays Tiktok loving generation can get behind as she talks and acts exactly like them and when you add in the fact that the episode doesn't really give her any character flaws it is something that could potentially make her a badly written character with really the only thing about her character that does seem interesting in this episode is we are told that she's a wolf that can't wolf out and while this is something that does obviously set up her character arc for this season with it even ending exactly how you think it would do it is something that could make her an interesting character as now we the audience have a character outside of Wednesday that we want to see achieve their goal no matter how small the goal is interms of the bigger picture with the only thing that could have been changed about her character from this episode being the fact that she's basically just there for the Tiktok crowd and therefor does feel out of place when she's in a scene with quite literally any member of The Addams Family as while even tho The Addams Family have always thought that being normal was to them weird it would therefor seem out of character for someone like Wednesday to talk to let alone befriend someone who in our eyes is normal when Wednesday would infact be more interested in someone who is in to the things that she's in to.

One of the thins that the episode gets wrong is the fact that it treats Wednesday as being the bad guy at the start of the episode. As while yes granted setting loose two bags full of piranha on the school swim team is a bad thing she only did that because of the act that they picked on her brother so all she was doing was standing up for Pugsley something that is in her character to do as The Addams Family is a very close knit family and so of course she would stand up for him she even says as much in the scene where she sets the piranha loose and yet for some odd Morticia and Gomez still kind of treat her like she was in the wrong for doing something that kept her brother safe from further harm and while OK granted The Addams Family never directly hurt anyone and would never directly cause harm to anyone they would still sick for of their own and they would still defend one of their own as well and while Wednesday could have found another way to get her revenge for her brother to do literally anything else would feel out of character as after all she outright caused a riot at the camp in Addams Family Values just because of the fact that she , her brother and all of the over people that the camp owners and some of the campers deemed to be weird and out of place and yet she still did it because that's in her character and yet her parents didn't punish her for that they applauded her for it and yet here while she's doing the exact same thing by defending her brother they punish her for it which makes no sense and it seems like an excuse for the makers of the shoe to get her into this school when they didn't need one as they could have started the episode with her being driven there and that's it.

For some odd reason the maker of this episode chose to have the school Nevermore Academy look pretty much how The Addams Family Mansion looked in the 1991 film. So much so that it would be forgivable if people thought that this show took place in the house as from the outside they do look the exact same and while that's not a bad thing as the house did look pretty good in that movie all it does is remind you that you could have been watching the 1991 movie and it makes you wonder if what your seeing was actually the families house or not from that movie but just reused as the school for this show and speaking of the school the idea of having a school for all of these supernatural people is a good idea as it does make sense that all of these types of characters would eventually need a school like this it just reminds of you Hogwarts as the school in the Harry Potter films and the school in this show fill the exact purpose and even have a main outside area that does look kind of similar with the only difference being in this school people have all sort of magical powers and aren't just either witches or wizards and that's it with even the school itself having alot of character to it that does make it look like a charming place almost as if it's a character in it's own right with the very idea of tieing this newly created to the Addams legacy in this case in being where Morticia and Gomez not only met but also feel madly in love with each other was a good idea as it's a good way to tie into the legacy of these characters and while the design of the school does look like the house from the 1991 movie it does also feel like something that Charles Addams himself would design as it does have this dark and almost gothic look to it that makes it perfect for the world of The Addams Family.

Now then this episode has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly fifty nine minuets and twenty seconds. Which is pretty much the exact grad total running time for all of this show as alot of this shows episodes also had a very similar running time to it as well with it being helped by the fact that this episode really does have the right amount of plot there to really cover that amount of running time as even tho this episode really doesn't use it's running time all that wisely it's also an episode that does really need to be that long due to how much plot for the season as a whole that it needs to set up including why Wednesday is even at this school in the first place and while this does come at the expense of giving the episode an actually strong plot as for a whole it does seem like Wednesday is just doing things purely for the sake of doing them and not because of the fact that it's to forward what little plot that this episode has going for it in the first place with same thing even being true for the episodes characters as well as while Wednesday Morticia and Gomez come across as being decently well done with of Wednesday being the better of the three characters none of this episodes new characters get alot of screen time to get across what there personality is alot of the time thus making them come across as being very one dimensional this is something that is only an issue because of the fact that the episode introduces so many characters all of whom will play a part in the first season of the show and yet doesn't bother in this episode to give us a reason as to why we should like them or even what there personality is in the first place with the only exception to that being of course Enid and that's really it but I really will admit that this episode really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is a comedy that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well the in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty really good. With Wednesday and even Morticia having alot of really funny one liners in this episode episode all of which are really funny and while alot of them are basically just "the thing that the normal people like is weird to us" kind of jokes they are done so well in this episode with the episode even having alot of laugh out loud moments in it and while granted not alot of this episodes jokes are that memorable that doesn't stop them from being good with one of the episodes best jokes being when Wednesday is just hurling insults at Morticia and while she does take it on the chin Wednesday says something about not having a heart to which Morticia simply says "finally a kind word for your mother" which is such a good joke as it feels like something that the two of them would say and while Wednesday herself does get alot of dark jokes all of which are aimed at Enid the best one has to be when the statue is falling down towards her and all she's doing is thinking about how happy she'd be if she died which is a joke that her character would say and because of that alot of her jokes do oddly enough work as they all feel like something that she'd say with this episode having alot of jokes just like those two in it with nearly all of them working really well as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall while we only have to wait a week to find out if the first half of the shows second season will be any good what can be said for sure is that not only this first season of the show but also this first episode set the bar really high as this is a really good first episode that really does sets the tone for the rest of this first season as it's just that good of an episode in my freaking opinions anyways / at lest. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very episode in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very episode really does ern itself a grand old score of exactly a 7.5 out of 10 from me.
