Worzel Gummidge "The Return Of Dafthead" Review

Worzel Gummidge fans as alot of you would have worked out thanks to these reviews his series isn't afraid to get scary when it wants to. Well there is one character that pretty much everybody agrees is the scariest one of theme all and heck all you have to do is just see one picture of him to see why he's considered to be really scary and so then join me as I review the episode that might just be the scariest episode of Worzel Gummidge ever made with the episode in question being called simply just "The Return Of Dafthead" enjoy.

The plot of this episode is when an old enemy of Worzel's returns and takes over his post as scarecrow of Ten Acre Field it's up to Worzel to get rid of this scarecrow before it's far to late. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty rather simple and that's the best thing that I can say about this episodes plot because this show doesn't need epic plots to drive it's story and episodes forward all it needs is simple plots and that's what the plot of this episode really well and truly is in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this episode is Doctor Who star Jon Pertwee as Worzel Gummidge , Jeremy Austin as John Peters and Geoffrey Bayldon as The Crowman. Also starring in this episode is Norman Bird as Mr. Braithwaite , Charlotte Coleman as Sue Peters , Monty Python And The Meaning of Life and The Crimson Permanent Assurance star Myrtle Devenish as Mrs. Liversage , Megs Jenkins as Mrs. Braithwaite and Frank Marlborough as Dafthead.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty really good. With all of this episodes cast members tuning in some good performances which for this show is nothing really all that new as every single episode of this show really does have some really good performances within it.

As I stated at the very start of the review this episode perhaps the most creepiest and scariest characters in the shows entire history Dafthead. For those of you that don't know Dafthead was created by Worzel , Jon and Sue when Worzel was almost put on a bonfire and when Dafthead came to life and found out what he made for he ran away and he was scary as all heck if you want proof of that all you have to do is look at any picture of him because everything about him is of putting which was kind of the point since he was made by the kids and Worzel but that doesn't make him any less terrifying.

I'm just going to be real with you all hear this episode is one of if not the scariest episode of this whole entire show. As not only do we have Dafthead returning and being creepy with all of his fast turns and everything else but we also have both Dafthead and Worzel dueling it out in a very gothic looking piece of scenery complete with fog but we also have Worzel openly and proudly trying to kill of his demented creation and Worzel looses his head all of which makes me wonder how this episode ever made it past all of the censors and TV parents groups because there's alot of stuff that would give kids nightmares just in this very episode alone.

It's not often that we get to see The Crowman show affection towards Worzel with the two at best being close friends. However in this episode the two act more like father and son which was something that I liked since The Crowman is for all intense and purposes Worzel's father since he did build him and to see The Crowman openly wish Worzel luck whilst it is a small way to show affection it does go to show that despite all of the times that The Crowman would threaten to throw Worzel on a bonfire he really does care about him.

One of the things that I didn't like about this episode is the fact that the whole Worzel and Dafthead trying to one up each other routine goes on a tad bit to long for my personal liking. As you don't really need to see them one upping each other all the time you just need to see it once maybe twice very early one in the episode and that's it since that would be more then enough to set up their rivalry for the episode where as here the episode shows them one upping each in almost every other scene and after a while seeing them one up each other all the time does start to get a little bit boring and a little bit grating as well.

Now then while I cannot for the absolutely life of me remember whatever this episodes grand total running time even was I do know that for a fact that this episode has / had an exact grand total running time of roughly twenty six minuets. Which was a great time for this episode to last as plot wise there isn't alot there to last anything longer then that running time but even so the episode does back in alot of plot within that short amount of time and it really does help that the episode does have some really good pacing to it as well.

So now then since this is a comedy that means that I have to talk about the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty really good. With this episode having a lot of genuine laugh out loud moments within it and alot of this films biggest laughs come from seeing Worzel getting frustrated at being outsmarted by Dafthead time and time again which is only funny due to how Jon Pertwee acts in those scenes in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this episode is a truly scary episode but it's also an episode that's well written which is something that could also be said for the rest of this show as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this episode in this very review and as such that means that this very episode earns itself a grand old score of exactly an 8 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from Wikipedia , Amazon . Co . Uk and Google Images. With my personally preferred website that I personally preferred to use to get the images that I personally used in this very review being the wonderful Google Images since all of the images that are currently up and and featured / presented to us on Google Images are all fairly high in quality and as well as being really fairly freaking high in definition.
