Worzel Gummidge "Worzel And Saucy Nancy" Review

I think that it's quite obvious by now that I really love watching the classic episodes of Worzel Gummidge. As such I thought that i'd review an episode of the show that i've been thinking about reviewing for some time simply because it's a lighthearted episode that is just nothing more then pure fun to watch and so then join me as I review the episode that introduces us to another classic character played by a comedy great with the episode in question being called simply just "Worzel And Saucy Nancy" enjoy.

The plot of this episode is Worzel sneaks on a coach to go on an old age pensioners trip to the sea side where he bumps into a ships figure head and an old flame. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty really nice with this episodes plot being a really fun and nonsense plot which I thought was good and really well told and really fun as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this episode is Doctor Who star Jon Pertwee as Worzel Gummidge , Una Stubbs as Aunt Sally and Dame Barbara Windsor as Saucy Nancy. Also starring in this episode is Jeremy Austin as John Peters , Charlotte Coleman as Sue Peters , Mike Berry as Mr. Peters , Myrtle Devenish as 1st Pensioner , Roy Evans as Whelk-stall Owner , Megs Jenkins as Mrs. Braithwaite , Billy John as A Shepherd , Bartlett Mullins as 2nd Pensioner , Jeremy Pearce as Young man , John Sharp as Fairground man and an uncredited Geoffrey Bayldon as The Voice Of The Whelk-stall Owner.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to u in this very episode was in all honesty really good. Which for this series is nothing as every episode that i've seen thus fat has had some really good acting within it and when you get a bunch of really talented actors and actresses you always end up with a bunch of really good performances which is what we got in this episode.

This is the film that introduced Carry On star Dame Barbara Windsor to the world of Worzel Gummidge. I have to admit that her role as Saucy Nancy isn't that far remove from quite literally any of the characters that she would go on to play in the Carry On films since just like her Carry On characters Saucy Nancy has a bit of a cheeky side altho it's rather toned down to fit a kids audience and so it isn't that much of a stretch for her play basically the same character that's she's been playing in the Carry On films at this point in time.

As I always do when i'm preparing to do a review of a Worzel Gummidge I watched this episode twice once without the audio commentary and once with the audio commentary just so that I could find out some background information on the episode in question. With what I found out this time around being how they managed to make Saucy Nancy move since the character doesn't have any legs and so what the team did was basically have Barbara Windsor on a board with wheels attached to it and have a member of the crew literally hide in the back of her dress and out his arms around her waist and just push her it's a simple trick but it's one that works rather well since for years it did have me wondering how they managed to make this character move around in the first place.

When I review an episode of Worzel Gummidge i'm always using the new DVD set just because it has a new transfer and fully restored images. Which is normally great since the pictures don't usually drop down in quality however in this episode for some reason near the end of the episode the image does take a slightly noticeable dip in quality which was something that I found to distracting and it makes me wonder why they didn't correct that section of the episode since it remains like that for the rest of the episode since even tho it's a very minor issue it is one that took me out of the episode and reminded me that I was just watching a TV show and nothing more then that.

This is the episode were they started to use the characters of Jon ad Sue less since as they where played by child actors they by law could only work a certain amount f dates per year.Which means that outside of three scenes in this episode they actually couldn't take part in the filming of this episode which is a shame because it makes me wonder what these two kids would have done with Worzel at the sea side and while there absence is indeed felt in this episode they really realistically couldn't have done all that much and having them in the episode would have made the episode a little less fun since they would have been busy trying to get Worzel , Aunt Sally and Saucy Nancy out of trouble which would have made the episode a little bit less fun and funny as well.

Now then whilst I cannot for the absolutely life of me remember whatever this episodes grand total running time even was I do know that for a fact that this episode has / had an exact grand total running time of roughly twenty five minuets. Which is pretty much roughly the bog standard running time for a Worzel Gummidge episode to last ad while this episode has more then enough plot to cover that running time I do wish that this episode was slightly longer as that would have opened us up to having more jokes and seeing these rather wonderful characters interact with each other which is always funny no matter what the episode is.

So now then since this is a comedy that means that I have to actually talk about the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty really good. With this episode having alot of really funny jokes in it and not all of this episodes jokes are for kids either with this episodes best joke being a rather hidden adult joke which I really loved as it was such a funny joke that was rather subtle and rather well written as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this was a really funny episode that plays to the strengths of Jon Pertwee , Una Stubbs and Dame Barbara Windsor since it's comedy is so out there that it really will make alot of you laugh out loud in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very episode in this very review and as such that means that this very episode earns itself a grand old score of exactly an 8.5 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from IMP Awards . Com , Wikipedia , Amazon . Co . Uk and Google Images. With my personally preferred website that I personally preferred to use to get the images that I personally used in this very review being the wonderful Google Images since all of the images that are currently up and and featured / presented to us on Google Images are all fairly high in quality and as well as being really fairly freaking high in definition.
