Letting You Guys Know Some Of The Animated Films That I Love

Boys and girls you've seen me rate alot of things from bad to worst over the past couple of weeks and mostly that's because there so easy to do. For this one I couldn't really use that title and so I had to ditch the concept so instead of rating some of my favourite animated films from worst to best i'm instead going to go a little bit more personal and tell you guys what some of my favourite animated films are and like my previous animation related post i'm going to be including anime in this post.

Anime

Ghost In The Shell

There's very little actually wrong with this film and that's because it does so much right it's a true classic in every sense of the word. Without this film we wouldn't have gotten The Matrix movies for better or for worse , what honestly sells me on this film tho is how well done the mystery aspect of the story is it's so rare for me to find a genuinely good mystery and that's what this film has in my opinion.

A Silent Voice

Now depending on where your seeing this post you'll know that i've just done a review of this movie and will thus already know what I think about it. To cut a long story short I think that this movie is easily better then Your Name and it deserves alot more attention from not only anime fans but fans of animation , to me this film is far more upsetting because of the fact that anyone who's been bullied would know what the main female lead Shōko is going through and will find the film more relatable.

Cartoons

Toy Story 1,2 and 3

Now then for obvious reasons I can't include the fourth one in this so i'm only counting the first three films. In my opinion these first three movies are the perfect trilogy they tell one complete story and they have fantastic animation which only gets better with each passing film. On top of what I just said the third and second films also have great emotional moments which work because we've gotten to know the characters and because of the fact that the films are so well written , so to say that the fourth one has a lot of live up to would be a huge understatement.

Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit

I can't believe that more people don't talk about this film since it has alot of things that make a great animated feature , it's has a great storyline , it has great characters , great animation and great jokes this film has everything that an animation fan would love. The only reason why i can see people not talking about it as much is due to the fact that it's British and films from Britain don't get talked about as much.

Early Man

Sticking with Aardman for there newest film which is also the latest film from animation legend Nick Park Early Man is a football comedy set in the stone age. Yes Americans I said football because that's it's name now that i've just insulted an entire country I best explain why I love this film I love it because of the fact it has all of the things we've come to expect from an Aardman film plus it's set in my hometown of Manchester ,  on top of all that tho it's a weird film that on paper shouldn't work but it some how does and I love it for that.

Moana

Now one of the reasons why I love this film I won't go into because it can also be said for the next film i'm going to talk about and I would thus be repeating myself. Another reason for me loving it is the fact that the animation is truly beautiful to look at , each frame is truly stunning and it's not often that I get to say that about any film. This film also made me cry alot and any film that made me do that is in my opinion a great film.

The Lion King 1994

Now i've had to label this film just to make it more clear that i'm talking about the original movie because I don't want people to think that i've somehow got my hands on a copy of the remake. This film was such a huge part of my childhood it's a movie that I loved as a kid and I still love it to this very day , heck I love this movie so much that I not only saw the musical but I bought the soundtrack and I saw it when it re-released in 3D. Like Moana this film has jaw dropping animation and it's shocking that animation this good came from the Disney B team and again like Moana this film made me cry and I cannot remember what I was going to say when I wrote the Moana segment for this post so yeah i'm ending it here.

Some Anime Films That I Love

Ladies and gents we anime fans talk alot about our favorite shows but for some reason when it comes to movies we never mention them well now I thought i'd do something a tad bit different and tell you some of my personal favorite anime films.

Maquia: When the Promised Flower Blooms

Out of all the films featured here this is the most recent film to come out and I have to say that it is simply stunning and it's a film where I can see my self going to get the DVD. That's how I know that a film is good so believe all the hype behind this film because it truly is worth it in my eyes.

In This Corner Of The World

Like a lot of the films featured in this post this is a film that has made me cry but to me this film is so much more then that. It's a film about heartbreak and finding the strength to survive at a time where that was impossible heck this film is so good i've not only seen the subbed version of the film but i've also seen the dubbed version of the film and I own it on DVD.

The Garden Of Words

Guys i'm going to let you know right now your going to be seeing alot of Makoto Shinkai's films on this list because the guy is mad talented. For now tho let's talk about what I think is his worst film which is saying something because the film is still really good there's really no more praise I can give this film but if your a fan of the director then you should check this out.

Mary And The Witch's Flower

The first film for any studio is always a hard thing because your film is not guaranteed to make any money. I think tho that Studio Ponoc's first film is truly something to behold I think that Hiromasa Yonebayashi and his team are truly talented and I believe that at some point ponoc could be on the same level as Studio Ghibli or Madhouse.

Your Name

Yup this film again lets face it guys the second you saw the name of this post you knew that at some point this film was going to making an appearance. Now I don't praise it to the high heavens like everyone else does and that's because by the time I got round to watching it the film had been hyped to hell. So no matter how good the film was it was always going to fail because the film was so hyped up in my mind it was this perfect film and yet when I saw it and found out it wasn't that it was shocking to me but it is still a great film.

5 Centimeters per Second

This for me is the best film that Makoto Shinkai has made it has everything that made Your Name the great film that it is and then some. I first saw this film a few years ago and it made me cry like crazy and I still choke up everytime I watch it that's how good it is there really is nothing more I can say about the film because it;s that good.

A Silent Voice

This film came out around the same time as Your Name and sadly it got really overshadowed by that film and that to me is a damn shame because this film is so worth watching. This is the only film in this post where i've read some of the manga before hand and the manga had me in tears I had no idea that manga could do that to a person. The film also had the exact same effect on me and it was in the exact same spot.

Ghost In The Shell

I cannot go on enough about how good this film is it truly is one of the best anime ever made in my opinion. Heck this film is so good that hollywood made a terrible live action version and that's how you know that a film is good. This film is so freaking iconic that to me you cannot call your self a die hard anime fan unless you've seen this film you don't have to have liked it you just have to have seen it.

How I Think The Animated Feature List For The OSCARS Should Have Looked

I've considered making this post for the best part of the a few days now but i was honestly far to angry to do it when the nominations were released on Thursday so i've waited until my anger has gone down and here is how I feel the Animated Feature list should have looked please note if your seeing this on Cartoon Amino there will be anime films and if your seeing this on Anime Amino there's western animated films.

Coco

I think we can all agree that this film deserves to be nominated heck some might even say it deserves to win and out the actual nominations this one is most likely to win but either way this is the best film they could have gone with.

Before I continue i want you all to know that since I havn't seen either Loving Vincent or The Breadwinner or Mary And the Witches Flower i won't be making comments on any of those films so for the sake of this article you can fill them in below.

The Lego Batman Movie

This was one of the biggest casualties of this years nominations and like many of you I cannot think of a reason as to why this film wasn't nominated I know that the academy looks down on superhero films but then again this isn't just a superhero film it's a film about family and the importance of family so this was right up there street.

A Silent Voice

I'm a huge anime fan and I loved this film not because it's anime but because of the story it told but i guess the academy doesn't want stories that make you think or that have great animation and voice acting and this is one of three films that actually had me crying the other two were Coco and the next film i'm going to mention.

In This Corner Of The World

This is the other film that made me cry and it's a damn shame that both this film and A Silent Voice got snubbed for films that aren't OSCAR worthy. This film has great characters , a heartwarming yet tragic story and some great voice acting in all honesty there was nothing at all stopping The Academy from nominating this film at all.

Five Anime I Like But Don't Get Much Attention From The Community

Here is my second anime themed post and since alot of anime come and go i don't expect people to remember these shows are movies but for some reason or another they don't get talked about by the anime community so here we go.

 A Silent Voice

This movie came out the same time as Your Name did in America and i think that's why people don't talk about this film that much because a whole lot of them went to go and see Your Name which is a shame because while Your Name is a good film i think this film is better and i wish more anime fans would talk about it.

Blood-C

This anime came out in 2011 and i can kinda see why people aren't talking about it that much since like i said before a lot of anime come and go but if people are still talking Cowboy Bebop then why can't they still talk about Blood-C but it seems not alot of people forgot about since it did get a live action film prequel called Asura Girl: Blood-C Another Story and a stage play called Blood-C: The Last Mind.

Hellsing Ultimate

This OVA series finished in 2014 so why people aren't still talking about it is beyond me it should still be fresh enough in people's minds but for some reason it doesn't get much attention but when it does it gets the praise it deserves.

Highschool Of The Dead

Again i get why people don't talk about this show that much since it did come out a long time ago but the most recent memory i can think of of people talking about it was when it broke that the series creator had died and thus couldn't finish the story so maybe they don't want to talk about because of that or because of the fact it's an unfinished story.

Anything From The Love Live! Franchise

Yeah this is a strange one because for some reason alot of anime don't like to talk about the Love Live! anime and for the life of me i can't work out why if they don't like it then that's fine but you'd think they would be a few people out there in the community who like this franchise i know i like it and i'm excited for the Love Live! Sunshine!! movie.

A Thought I Had While Watching A Silent Voice

You know I was watching A Silent Voice on Blu-Ray today and a thought popped into my head and that thought was "this would make a good live action hollywood movie" but after I had that simple thought I started thinking of the over two Blu-Rays I had lying there and i thought to my self "which one would make the best live action movie" so here I am and I'm going to list reasons why I think each one would make a good live action hollywood movie.

In This Corner Of The World

In all honesty out of all three films this one would be the hardest one to adapt not because it's based on an anime or anything like that but because it's so rooted in Japanese culture whoever was to end up writing and directing the film would have the challenge of having to set the film in the same time period and the same country as the original film but I do believe that with the right team behind it that it can be done but it would absolutely need to handled with care.

This film would most likely not get remade since it's not gotten as much media attention like Your Name did and like I said before it's so rooted in Japanese culture so you can't just change the names to american names and change the setting to insert american city here so I really have no clue how this could be done but if it's done the right way and with the right people then this could be a good film.

A Silent Voice

Out of all three movies this one would actually be the cheapest movie to make you could very easily make this movie for $5 - 10 million and you wouldn't loose a thing because it's all there all ready they story is all ready perfect as are the characters all the director would have to do is point the camera at the actors and yell action. This is also a universal story so it could very easily be adapted for American audiences and you won't even need to simplify things for them either since pretty much any one could understand the story.

Like I said before this one most likely won't even get considered for a live action remake because of the lack of media attention but that doesn't mean it won't one day happen I mean look at Ghost In The Shell when that movie came out it wasn't given a huge amount of media attention and it got a live action movie. The other downside is since there's not alot of action the average movie goer might be get bored and that might force the studio to add in some kind of action scene in a film that really doesn't need any.

Your Name

This one's difficult to write about since it's already getting a live action movie from hollywood but it could be done since the story is a universal story because at it's heart it's about two people falling in love with each other and how that love can literally over come time and space. Just based on what I just said it sounds like it would difficult to adapt and yeah it will be I'm not gonna lie but it's not impossible either and with J.J. Abrams producing it I have a feeling the right people will come on board.

Here tho the downside comes not from the original film but rather from fans of the original film since this film was getting alot of attention and it has a lot fans it means you can't really change much of the story which in turn could stifle creativity so I would have to ask any fans of the film and this includes myself just to roll with whatever stuff comes out about the new movie.

Where I Would Rate Three Great 2017 Anime Films

Hello there anime fans this has most likely been the best year for anime films with films like A Silent Voice and In This Corner Of The World proving that really anyone can enjoy anime and if you want to be technical you can also include Your Name in that list as well since it had it's American debut in 2017 and i thought i'd tell you which out of those three films i liked the most and yes i checked all of these films had an American release date of 2017.

3) Your Name

This might surprise alot of you anime fans that a film everyone else loves is at the bottom of this list well that's because by the time i got round to watching the movie it was so over hyped it's a good film yes but i don't think it's as good as everyone says it is.

2) A Silent Voice

Ever since a friend told me about this movie i was so intrigued by it and it did not let me down at all heck when i first heard about the movie i went online and read the first few issues of the manga and i cried and i give the makers of the film credit for taking on a difficult subject matter and in a way this film has pushed boundaries since the lead actress in the english language version is death.

 1) In This Corner Of The World

In This Corner Of The World is so beautiful and it's very moving honestly there's nothing in this film that i don't love heck i even love the strange art work which for some reason reminds of 2006's The Girl Who Leapt Through Time and it my eyes that's not bad thing and i love the fact this film really isn't afraid to punch you in the gut.

Guys in truth i love all of these films so putting this in any kind of order was always going to be hard but that goes to show how good these films and if you havn't already i recommend you buy them all on either DVD or Blu-Ray heck the films are so good i asked for and got all three for Christmas.
