Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash: The Nightmare Warriors Review

Comic fans crossovers are nothing new they've been happening for years now and so I thought i'd review a crossover series that not that many people know about it's the sequel to the both the film Freddy Vs Jason and the comic book Freddy Vs Jason Vs Ash Freddy Vs Jason Vs Ash: the Nightmare Warriors.

The plot of the book is Freddy who has been trapped inside the necronomicon since the end of the last crossover finds away to get in touch with Jason and together they plan to take over the world. For a horror crossover book this plot is pretty epic like more epic then it has any right to be but the story is well paced with my only issue is it does get a bit dull at times.

Character wise aside from the titular characters of Freddy , Jason and Ash we pretty much have a who's who of side characters from both A Nightmare On Elm Street and Friday The 13th appearing in this book and i'm not going to mention them all because of spoilers but some of them are Maggie Burroughs (Nightmare) , Stephanie Kimble (Friday) , Alice Johnson and Jacob Johnson (Nightmare) and Tina Shepard (Friday).

I'll admit that the twist in this book really doesn't make any kind of sense and if your a fan of A Nightmare On Elm Street you'll hopefully know what the twist is but it really did have me scratching my head and asking why? and i've tried to come up with an answer and I just can't it just doesn't make any kind of sense at all.

The series has artwork by Jason Craig who along with writers Jeff Katz and James Kuhoric returned to work on this sequel and I have to say art wise the series is pretty hit and miss for the most part the artwork does look pretty good but then you'd get an odd drawing of Ash or a weird looking drawing of Freddy.

Writing wise however the series does fair a little better but not much to be honest alot of what's said will sometimes be out of character anyone who's seen a Freddy movie will know that he swears alot but here he doesn't even in situations where he normally would.

I'm glad that they brought back Alice because she was the best part of Elm Street Parts 4 and 5 and damn did they make her look stunning I was really taken aback by how good looking they made her and then I just wanted to see more scenes with her.

I'm so a shamed to admit this but there was a great little nod to a classic horror film all throughout this series and I never noticed it until I was nearly done and when I did I went "Damn why didn't I notice it before" but tho they also mention the town Haddonfield but i'm sure nothing ever happened there nope nothing at all.

Both this series and it's predecessor are six issues long and for me that's just the right amount of issues because anything longer then that and your going to run into trouble when it comes to the story but with six solid issues it means you get through the story at the right pace.

Overall this is a fairly solid series and I do recommend you read it but before you do watch Freddy Vs Jason and read Freddy vs Jason Vs Ash since this series does spoil what happens at the end of that book and incase your wondering the kills are just ok this book gets a 6.5 out of 10 from me and yes it was published by DC but it was under Wildstorm.

Sword Art Online: Alternative Gun Gale Online Anime Review

Sword Art Online fans have had a good few years with not only the movie coming out and being really good but also two different anime series were announced with Sword Art Online: Alicization coming out this fall but that's not the series i'm going to be talking about i'm going to be talking about the spin off series Sword Art Online: Alternative Gun Gale Online.

So then the plot of this series is Karen Kohiruimaki who is around six feet tall plays Gun Gale Online with her avatar being 5 feet tall and she and a partner enter the bullet of bullets tournament. I will admit that the plot of this series is really lacking but this review is being made after the first four episodes so there's a chance it could get better but as of right now it really is paper thin.

Starring as the main characters are Tomori Kusunoki as Karen Kohiruimaki and Llenn (her avatar name) , Kazuyuki Okitsu ( Andre from Prison School) as M and Yōko Hikasa (who can also be heard as Jivunya Lorezzo in Dances With Dragons) as Pitohui.

Honestly the cast do a fairly solid job all of the characters sound really good and their performances really are top notch but if there was one thing i'd criticize the acting for it's the fact that Llenn has the typical small cute girl anime voice and to me it's eye rolling it's not a knock about the series but it's something I wanted to bring up.

Now usually an SAO series will cover two to three arc's per season so to me it's refreshing that this series only going to cover one light novel and not try to fit in as many as they can regardless if it makes sense or not yes i'm looking at you SAO season 1.

Usually SAO is animated by A-1 Pictures but they are bust animating the third season of not only this show but also Fairy Tail and so in steps studio 3hz who have seen mild success with shows like Flip Flappers and Dimension W.

For me the animation in this series is pretty good SAO will never be known for having outstanding animation but I feel that the animation is probably the best seen in the SAO series i'm not saying it's better then the movie because of the fact the movie would have a bigger budget but for a TV series the animation is really good.

I do like the fact that this series is really taking it's time in building up it's characters but tho the series has around twelve episodes so that could come back to bite them but tho even the main series doesn't take it's time and while that's fine for that show it's nice to see things done at a slower more natural pace.

I think it's safe to say that Llenn is a pure badass and I love the fact that she really doesn't know how much of a badass she can be and she really is a good character and one that I personally can see being better then Kirito and and Asuna in terms of fan popularity.

The main series is known for putting it's best animation in it's fight scenes and sadly the animation in the fight scenes isn't that good which is a shame because this series is pretty much built on having good looking action scenes the ones in this series while not being that bad there clearly not the best the series has to offer but tho i'd still take these actions scenes then the whole ALO arc.

What shocked me when watching this series was the fact that the opening song called ryuusei is sung by SAO veteran Eir Aoi and I have to say she can still get me excited and pumped up because that is one hell of a song and it's one of the few anime songs I make sure to never ever skip that's how good it is.

Overall this is a really good series and if your a die hard fan of SAO then i'd say watch it and I would even kinda say the same thing if your not a fan just because it's not the main show and should be treated differently I give this show a solid 7 out of 10.

Muppet Babies 2018 Review

Hello there Muppet fans for a few years now The Muppets havn't really been in a TV series there was a more adult version of the characters that aired a few years ago but despite me liking the show it was cancelled and now they are back with a new animated show which has the same name of another Muppet show you might have heard of so here is my review of the reboot of Muppet Babies.

The series follows the playroom adventures of Miss Piggy , Animal , Gonzo , Kermit and new character Summer. As you can guess this show is episodic in nature and I think for this show it does work it's a show about the muppets as babies so with that set up you don't really need a story you can just go wild with it.

Now shockingly this series doesn't star current Kermit voice actor Matt Vogel but instead he's voiced by Matt Danner who also serves as the show's supervising director and he's joined by Melanie Harrison as Piggy ,  Dee Bradley Baker as Animal ,  Eric Bauza as Fozzy , Ben Diskin as Gonzo , Jessica DiCicco as Summer and Jenny Slate as Miss Nanny.

Acting wise the cast could use some improvement the cast that you expect to give good performances do deliver but when your playing iconic characters such as Kermit and Miss Piggy then you have to deliver and Matt and Mel just don't and while the voice for Piggy does kinda match the original her voice the voice Kermit isn't even close to how he sounds.

Now despite Disney owning The Muppets they didn't actually do the animation for this show the animation was done by Odd Bot Animation and from what I can gather this is their first time working on a TV series and it shows because the animation in this show is OK at best there are times where the characters hair does look pretty good but then they will cut to Piggy's hair and it just looks plastic as heck.

Unlike other Muppet shows since they were bought by Disney this show airs on Disney Junior and thus made for that target audience and with that in mind I will say that there's nothing harmful init for little kids and they do teach some valuable life lessons but tho you get a sense that it's not the muppets at their best or like they could have tought this lesson in another way.

The episodes do have pretty bad pacing which for me is an issue because each episode is made up of two separate stories but each story seems to drag around the middle part for some reason and I know that they can't really address this issue just yet but if they get a season two then it is something they will have to look into because if i'm feeling bored imagine how the little kids would be feeling at that point.

I couldn't do a review of this show and not mention the new character Summer for me she's a female version of Kermit except she likes art and I say that she's female version of Kermit because all of the personality treats adult Kermit has Summer has but with that said she can be a pretty fun character and I do want to see her feature in movies and other TV shows but in my eyes should be better suited in Sesame Street.

Now this is a muppet show so with that in mind you'd think the show would have tons of laugh out loud moments so it saddens me to say that it doesn't don't get me wrong if a little kid is watching this they'll think it's funny as heck but the jokes just aren't that funny and for some reason in one episode they use a scene from Raiders Of The Lost Ark and I know that because I love the Indiana Jones films.

Now for some unknown reason they chose to make the funniest and most savage muppets Statler and Waldorf completely tame and kid friendly which is so out of character for these two these characters need to savage as heck that's when they out their best and not telling lame jokes to please five year olds they could have been the disgruntled muppet fan base when they heard this show was going to happen but nope oh and you don't want to know what they did to Rizzo.

The show's theme is sung by Renée Elise Goldsberry and since I havn't seen the original Muppet Babies I have no clue if they use the original theme or not but I can tell you that this theme song is pretty good it really does suit the show shockingly well and it has a nice catchy beat to it it's just a shame the songs in the show aren't really that good.

Overall I can see little kids enjoying this show but it's not The Muppets at their best it's close tho but for these guys close isn't good enough I give Muppet Babies 2018 a 5 out of 10.

Comic Girls Anime Review

So then anime fans when I said I would talk to you all again soon I freaking meant it because I have a few reviews due out this week and they are both of series and that in the case of this series just finished airing it's fourth episode the fourth episode for the next series review won't air until Saturday so here is my review of Comic Girls.

The plot of this series is it follows the day to day life of four up and coming manga artists who all live and go to school together. This show is really episodic apart from character development there's no overarching plot line to speak what so ever and I like that because not every anime needs to have an overarching story it is ok to have something that's episodic in nature.

Starring in the show we have Hikaru Akao as Kaoruko Moeta , Kaede Hondo as Koyume Koizuka , Rie Takahashi (Mash Kyrielight from Fate Grand Order anime) as Tsubasa Katsuki and Saori Ōnishi (Hisako Arato from Food Wars) as Ruki Irokawa. For me the casting is pretty freaking solid all round the only actor i'd say needs improving is Hikaru but that's not really surprising since she's fairly new to the voice acting game.

Now with anime you never really know how long a series will last and altho you will get a hint sometimes be it either from the name of the show or the genre that's still not a guarantee case in point Shirobako a slice of life series which had twenty four episodes which is why i'm glad that this series is only going to be twelve episodes long as I think this would help the series and it's story out in the long run.

The animation for the series is done by Nexus a studio who have mostly done in between work but have also produced shows such as Wakaba Girl and Chivalry of a Failed Knight so if you liked those shows then there's a huge chance you'll like the animation in this series for me the animation is just ok it does sometimes have great animation but alot of the times things just look a little off.

Now as i've mentioned the characters in this show are all manga artists and they don't all draw the same type of manga either the main character Kaoruko draws 4-koma while Koyume draws Shōjo but it doesn't stop there as Tsubasa draws Shōnen and Ruki draws teens love manga which is pretty much ecchi.

I must say that i'm glad that this series is really covering a wide range of manga genres since it would have been very easy for them to stick to one genre of manga and have the series focus on that genre but here they go into a little detail about each one and to me it adds to the characters.

Now i'll admit that i'm not an artist so I got confused as heck when they went into detail about art supplies they could have at least tried to explain it in a way that was easy to follow and understand but tho at the same time that also wouldn't have made sense in the context of that world since these characters are artists so they would know all of this stuff.

Now then what I found out while doing some research for this review is that as well as acting in the show the leads also sing the show's opening and closing songs it then saddens me to say that both songs are just bland there the typical songs you would here in a slice of life comedy and they don't really add anything to the overall production they are just there for the sake of it.

For me the humor is where this show is at it's best because this show is funny as heck it will take alot for me to laugh but this show gets me laughing in every single episode yes sometimes the jokes are predictable like with the girl who draws ecchi you know what most of the jokes are going to be when her roommates see a scene from her book but at the same time it's still funny to see play out.

Overall this is a fairly solid show and if you want to watch it you can catch it out now on Crunchyroll which I hope you do by the way because you'll be missing out and yes the picture above is a clue to me next anime series review I give Comic Girls a solid 7.5 out of 10.

Weird Anime Cliches

Anime is something that alot of people love and it's something that's getting alot of media attention (mostly due to bad live action movies ) but it's also something that has a lot of cliches and since there not going away any time soon I thought let's bring them up and shine a big shiny light on them.

The Main Character Always Sits On The Same Side Of The Class

Yeah I have no idea why this is a thing but for some reason main characters like to sit next to a window in the class room I wish I could say that this adds something to their characters but the fact is 9 times out of 10 all it does is tell us that their dreamers and that's it.

Main Characters Will Mostly Have Colored Hair

Unlike the last one I have an idea as to why this is a cliche but it's still strange to think that only main characters have colored hair and it's done to make them stand out from the rest of the characters so I do get why they do it but even still one cannot deney it's still a weird cliche.

American Characters Find Themselves In Japan

The last time I saw this was in Batman Ninja but for some reason whenever Japan creates something be it a film or TV series featuring a well known American character that character and maybe one or two others find themselves in Japan and I cannot understand why they do it to me that makes no sense at all.

Gravity Defying Boobs

This is something that mostly appears in any ecchi series but for some reason all of the girls seem to have gravity defying boobs I mean look at most of the female characters in HighSchool Of The Dead for instance there is no way all of the girls aren't in extreme back pain every single freaking day that's not the only show tho that uses this cliche but is it perhaps one of the most well known.

The Beach Episode

I wasn't going to mention this cliche since it's so well known but the more I thought about the more I thought "yeah let's include it" and again this is mostly found in ecchi shows but for some reason they like to have an episode where the main characters go to the beach and the only reason for this that I can think of is so they can have alot of fan service and not have it effect the main story the only problem is it's an obvious excuse for a filler episode.

Filler , Filler And More Filler

Now I assume that it's common knowledge as to why we have filler episodes of popular (it's so they don't catch up with the manga fyi) but even so alot of them are really bizarre and their always a mixed bag in terms of quality.

Errors In Animation

Honestly can we all just agree that animation errors are now an anime cliche because they happen all the time and all of the time they are funny as heck to see the most weird one tho that I can think of is in episode of Fairy Tail 2014 where there's this pretty good scene happening but for some reason the camera holds on Erza with her finger on her lips.

Now I know there are alot more cliches but if I talked about every single of them I wouldn't ever get to publish this post and if you like filler episodes then good for you and the same goes if you like beach episodes so then anime fans we'll talk again soon.

The 100 Season 5 "Eden" Review

Fans of The 100 rejoice for season 5 is here and for the first time ever i'm posting a review on it and i'm going to stick with the schedule i'm doing for The Walking Dead reviews so that's premier , mid-season finale , mid-season premier and season finale then now we've got that out of the way here is my review of the season 5 premier Eden.

The basic set up of this episode is it's six years since the season 4 finale earth is all but a wasteland and there are new threats to deal with. That's honestly the best way I could describe this episode since most of it is just catching up with the characters but I will say that the episode is pretty interesting.

Starring in the episode are Eliza Taylor , Marie Avgeropoulos , Bob Morley , Lindsey Morgan and Lola Flanery. I have to to say that this episode really is a tour da force for Eliza who really does a fantastic job she and Lola have great chemistry together and I cannot wait to see what else they got up to in the coming weeks and months.

There is a time skip as I mentioned before but a huge chunk on this episode episode actually takes place several weeks after the season 4 finale and for a large portion of the episode we just follow Clarke and that to me was when the episode was the most interesting because we got to see this headstrong character at her lowest moment and see how she would cope with that situation.

For this series there's shockingly not that much action with like I said a large portion of the episode spent catching up with the characters but when there is an action sequence for me it was very raw and grounded in reality but tho the action sequence didn't really last long in fact it was only a few minuets which when you take into account that the episode is forty five minuets long really doesn't take up that much time.

I have no idea who does the CGI for this show but bra and vo because the opening shot is freaking fantastic to look at it's not movie quality by any means but it's better then most of the CGI you'd see on television these days and for me that's better then nothing at all.

Overall this was a decent return for the series and it kinda serves as soft reboot for the show as well which honestly i'm ok with but I can see die hard fans getting angry with that but for me this episode gets a 7.5 out of 10 from me.

Craig Of The Creek Review

Hello their Cartoon Network fans this has been a review long in the making and it's also a review i've been waiting to do since it's a really good show so here is my review of the new Cartoon Network show Craig Of The Creek.

The show is episodic so the premise of the show is basically Craig and his friends get into adventures at a creek. For some reason when I watched the pilot episode it reminded me alot of Disney's Recess and honestly the same is true for this series and that's not a bad thing at all in fact it's part of the show's charm.

The show stars Phillip Solomon as Craig , H. Michael Croner as J.P. and Noël Wells as Kelsey but is really interesting is that for the pilot and the first three episodes Kelsey was voiced by Georgie Kidder and there's no given reason as to why they switched her out. The acting in the show is pretty decent and I like that they got an actual kid to play the main character and Phil does a good job voicing Craig.

In all honesty there's nothing really bad I can say about the show apart from the fact that it's way to short this series really should have been a full twenty two minuets since that would allow the stories more time to breathe instead of moving at breakneck speeds but honestly that's my only major complaint.

This show was made in house by Cartoon Network and was thus animated by Cartoon Network Studios and i've seen the list of shows they've made and damn that's a lot of good shows back to the animation tho this is show is really well animated I know that comes across as me being surprised but i'm really not since this is the same studio that animated Steven Universe and Adventure Time.

Now I know alot of people are going to say that the characters look like Steven Universe characters but to me that kinda makes sense since the creators of this show  Matt Burnett and Ben Levin did write episodes of SU so it makes sense that that show would influence how some of  the characters look in this show.

For some reason I remember alot of people talking about the pilot of this show which for some unknown reason is not uploaded on the official Cartoon Network Youtube page but i'm glad that I watched the pilot the first chance I had because if not I feel like I would have missed out because the way the pilot played out it was just screaming to be picked up for a full series and it's very rare that you see a pilot like that.

For me the best character in the whole show period is Kelsey I just love the fact that she's really over dramatic and she's basically into Game Of Thrones which is my show (#TeamDany4Life) and for me she is not only the groups strategist but she's also the crazy one of the group and that only makes me love her even more.

The show for me is really freaking funny like really funny and while you do get jokes in their for little kids i'm sure that there are some jokes in their that are for adults but there's a chance that I might be wrong and the jokes are so well written which is something i can also for pretty much all of the characters and I say pretty much because J.P. is just the typical dumb kid character.

Overall I highly recommend you check out this show trust me you will not disappointed just set aside a few hours and binge watch a a dozen or so episodes you'll love it for me this show gets an 8.5 out of 10.

Spy Kids: Mission Critical Review

Oh Netflix while your live action shows are really good your animated out put is mixed at best for every Voltron there's a Big Mouth and they are at it again this time turning a franchise that is no longer relevant into a TV series so here is my review of Spy Kids: Mission Critical.

How do I describe the plot to this show it follows brother and sister duo Juni and Carmen Cortez who now attend Spy kids Academy and form a team to stop S.W.A.M.P.. I've been trying to work out where this show fits in the continuity of the films and the best I could come up with is that it takes place after the first film but just before the second but even with that the story is still predictable because you know who's going to come out on top because of the fact it's a kids action show.

Starring Not Alexa Vega (Ashley Bornancin) , Not Daryl Sabara (Carter Hastings) , Caitlyn Bairstow as Glitch , Nicholas Coombe as Ace , Nesta Cooper as Scorpion , Not Antonio Banderas (Christian Lanz) , Not Alan Cumming (also Christian Lanz) and Not Carla Gugino (Mira Sorvino). Do you notice a problem with the casting alot of the actors didn't reprise their roles which for the main kid characters does make sense but they couldn't be bothered to bring back any of the adult actors they don't even feature Uncle Machete.

I do have to say that the acting for the most part isn't that bad Ashley and Carter do a good job with their actors the problem is if you grew up with the movies then all you'll hear is the original actor saying these lines and that makes me wonder why didn't they just get the original actors back and make the series a sequel to the films.

Ok Netflix we both know that you don't like to promote your animated shows as much but when you release a trailer just one week before the show premiers then there's something clearly up because that's good at all and i've only been able to find a single trailer and that's really it just imagine how much hyper there would be if they treated their animated shows like they do their live action stuff the hype would be of the charts.

Yes you can see the series right now on Netflix not like they would have let you know about it i'm sorry to keep on going about this but only releasing one trailer and literally nothing else is pretty bad from a marketing stand point and it's something the company needs to stop doing.

The animation was done by Rainmaker Studios who are known for doing the animation for the Barbie films and *sigh* the upcoming Barbie Netflix show and I have to say that even tho i thought the animation would be bad it's not as bad as I thought it would be don't get me wrong it's pretty bad but it's also pretty decent at the same time you can tell that alot of care and effort went into the animation and for me that's a huge plus.

I have to just come out and say it the characters to me look like pure nightmare fuel I didn't know this show was coming out and the first thing I saw for the show was a picture on Kimcartoon and it really did make me wonder if I should watch it because the characters looked hideous and this might just be me but the characters eyes look a little two big.

I really am thankful that this show is only ten episodes long not because it's a bad show but because like I said before you know where the story is heading so your just sat there watching all of the story beats play out and that does make it feel kinda boring to sit through.

I will say that in terms of it being a kids show there's nothing harmful in their the show does have a lot of life lessons thrown in but don't go into it expecting it to be like the movies because it's not it's worse then the movies but little kids might enjoy the show.

This is a show based on an action franchise and with that in mind the action scenes are actually pretty good granted their aren't as good as they could have been but for a kids show they are pretty decent and well put together my only gripe is they are spy's and they do very little spy work in the series they just go in all guns blazing and they come out alive some how.

Overall in terms of a kids show this is pretty decent but I feel it would have worked more if this was a sequel to the films rather then taking place in between films since if it was a sequel then the story could have been unpredictable but since it's not we know who's going to come out on top and with that mind the show gets a 5 out of 10.
