The New Scooby-Doo Movies Review

Scooby fans I really didn't think i'd be making this review today (because I planned to make it this weekend) but here we are the scooby franchise has spawned alot of TV shows and when I say alot I really mean it heck there even working on a new show altho i'm not sure what there calling it but here is my review of the franchises second incarnation The New Scooby-Doo Movies.

Honestly when it comes to the plot it's the exact same as Where Are You so if you've seen any episode of Scooby-Doo then you pretty much no the plot to this series. There's a case to be made for "if it ain't broke don't fix it" but with this series you can see a pattern coming out heck you can even argue that you start to see a pattern in Where Are You but it's something that does work so I can't be two harsh on them for sticking to what works.

Starring as The Mystery Inc crew are the late Don Messick as Scooby-Doo , the late Casey Kasem as Shaggy Rogers , Nicole Jaffe as Velma Dinkley , the late Heather North as Daphne Blake and the legend that is Frank Welker as Fred Jones. Yeah it really is sad that more then half of the main cast for this particular series is sadly no longer with us but that said some of the line delivery's in this show aren't that good there's a lot of awkward pauses between sentences.

This was the last time that Velma was played by Nicole as she chose to retire from acting and she later started up for own hollywood agency but she did return to play Velma in the films Scooby-Doo! and the Legend of the Vampire and Scooby-Doo! and the Monster of Mexico for me she is the best Velma but I do respect her choice to stop playing the character.

This show was animated by Hanna-Barbera so you'd think that being animated by such a prestigious studio as well as being directed by the famous pair would mean that there would be no animation errors but sadly that's a huge mega ultra no because there's a lot of animation errors in this series characters disappear and reappear , Velma's glasses get colored white for some reason and batman's signal gets an unwanted color change.

My personal favorite error tho occurs in the very first episode "Ghastly Ghost Town" the gang and the Three Stooges notice that Velma is missing but who should walk right by WITH them as they go looking for her but Velma herself that one scene had me yelling "she's right there you don't need to look for her" how a huge error like that made it past everyone I don't know but it doesn't end there as a few scenes later we then cut to Velma going missing.

One thing that this show I guess is famous for is it's guest stars this whole series was built around the fact that there would be a new guest star in every episode and I have to say that while some of them do feel natural it is conceivable that the gang would into Batman & Robin but how in the heck would you run into the Harlem Globetrotters not once but twice and how in the heck would you run into The Addams Family.

Now what really did shock me was the fact that alot of these celebrities were voiced by themselves those include Don Adams , Sonny & Cher , Tim Conway and the late Jonathan Winters and if your a Star Wars fan Luke Skywalker appears in an episode but of course alot of the guest characters died some time prior so they did get alot of impersonators and I have to say they did a good job since alot of them do sound like there real life counterparts altho for some reason they recast Batman & Robin which makes no sense to me since the Batman and Robin in this show reference a character made for the 60's show so why not just bring in Adam West and Burt Ward.

I have to admit tho when I was a kid the Robot Gunslinger from the first episode used to scare the heck out of me and yet when I see him now all I can think of is The Man In Black from HBO'S Westworld and I have no idea why that is maybe it's because like The Man In Black he's dressed in a black coat and hat maybe.

This franchise is most well known for it's mysteries and I have to say that the mysteries in this series are very mixed for me some are pretty easy to solve but then you get a few that are really freaking hard to solve and I don't mean hard for a little kid to solve I mean hard for an adult to solve there's no middle ground with this show when it comes to the mysteries it's one way or the other.

This show ran from September 9th 1972 to October 27th 1973 and the reason why this has the word movies attached to it is because unlike the previous series each episode of this series is forty five minuets in length  and that's both a good and bad it's good because it means we get more chances to work out who did it but it's bad because it drags out the pacing at times and I honestly think any Scooby show should be no more then twenty two minuets total.

One of the things that this show has going for it is it's theme song it's catchy as hell heck on more then one accusation I found my self singing along to it that's how good it is and for a show that can get pretty creepy it's a very upbeat song and the visuals make the show more epic then it really is.

Sadly tho there will not a complete series release of this series any time soon because of the fact that there conflicts with some of the guest stars it's sad really because this show is really good and it does deserve a complete series release but we shouldn't really hold our breaths but we can hope that it will happen one day.

Overall this isn't the worst series in the franchise but it's also not the franchise at it's best this was made at a time when Scooby-Doo was really popular and it shows because of the fact it feels like the team aren't putting in there best efforts so with all that in mind this series gets a 6 out of 10 from me.

My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic Review

Hello there pony fans i've reviewed alot of stuff to do with this franchise from the various Equestria Girls specials to the big screen movie but the one thing that i've never reviewed is the series so here is my review of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic.

The premise of this series is Twilight Sparkle is sent to the village of Ponyville from Princess Celestia to learn all about friendship. This show is for the most part episodic but there are episodes that reference events from past episodes and in the case of the season 5 finale takes place during an event described in a previous episode so in that sense there's no real story which does work for this show but I also wish that there was a story to speak of.

Starring as the mane characters are Tara Strong as Twilight Sparkle , Tabitha St. Germain as Rarity , Ashleigh Ball as Applejack and Rainbow Dash , Andrea Libman as Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie and Cathy Weseluck as Spike. As you can see I didn't name every single actor who's on the show well that was done to save my own sanity so I boiled it down to just the main cast of characters.

The acting in the show i'll admit doesn't start of well but that's to be expected since the cast are only just starting to find there respective characters but it does get better over the course of the series and now I cannot picture these characters being voiced by any other actor each of these actors has made these characters their own.

The animation for the series is handled by Hasbro Studios and to be pretty honest there are times where the animation almost looks like it could in a movie but then again there are a few times where you can tell that this movie was made cheaply and it makes me wish that they would put more money into the animation but when it's good it's great.

I'm trying to be fair in this review since I am a fan of the show and have been since season 6 but tho even as a fan I can say that the show does have it's fair share of problems and so I hope that you respect me for pointing out those problems but the show is still very freaking enjoyable.

Even tho the show is made for little girls the show has a huge amount of male fans who call themselves Bronies and honestly i'm glad that the show has gone against normality since the show is all about friendship and inclusion but tho there still seems to be a stigma attached to being a male and liking this show and I don't understand why since anything that teaches about friendship should be encouraged heck the Brony fanbase is so strong that there are two films made about them the first called Bronies: The Extremely Unexpected Adult Fans of My Little Pony and the second called A Brony Tale both of which I recommend.

You guys might not realise it yet but the show will have been on for eight years this October for any show eight years is a very respectful run and the fact that even when we are in season 8 they are still coming up with fresh ideas really does astound me I would have run out of ideas after one season so how these writers keep on coming up with more is truly amazing.

Throughout those eight years the show has had three main executive producers for seasons 1 through 2 it was  Lauren Faust who pretty much set the standerd for the rest of the series for season 3 it was Jayson Thiessen and he also did the job for season 4 alongside the shows head writer Meghan McCarthy and I have to say that while I thought the transition would be jarring it actually wasn't and it felt rather smooth.

What I noticed while watching this series was that for the premiers and finale's the episodes mostly featured on Twilight even tho her friends do help out in those episodes Twilight always felt more like the main character in those episodes and I have no idea why why couldn't the main character in say the season 2 two part opener be Fluttershy all you would have to do is switch Twilight out with her and the story would still work.

I actually cannot believe i've not spoken about the character designs yet I honestly think that the designs do work for this show but I have a feeling that they were designed more for the guys who make the toys just because each character is so uniquely designed and these designs cannot be easy to animate but there sure as hell great to turn into a toy.

Make no mistake about it the whole purpose of this show is to sell toys and that's it the fact that it's become a hit show that didn't come from Hasbro that was from Lauren but there were times while watching the show that I went "Now at a store near you" and I mostly did that whenever they made a major change to the series.

This is a kids show which means there are lessons to be learnt but before I get to those I have to say that having a character learn the same lesson over and over again isn't good in fact it makes the character seem rather stubborn like there not willing to change even tho they've just seen how much better it would be I think you can work out which character i'm talking about i'm not going to mention her by name but just see the above picture you'll know who I mean.

The show does a good job of teaching it's lessons none of them feel forced altho I can see people getting annoyed by the fact that the power of friendship saves everything but the lessons that this show teaches are lessons that kids need to learn and there lessons that we as adults could do with remembering especially given how the world is today.

The music and sings for this show are done by the crazy talented by Daniel Ingram this dude needs to do more shows and movies in the future because he is so freaking talented alot of the songs in this show are really good but alot of them are forgettable and that's not something you want in your show but they can't all be good but for me the shows best song is Your In My Head Like A Catchy Song which is you havn't heard go and look it up on youtube.

Overall if your not a fan of My Little Pony I do recommend you at least check out the season 1 premier that's the episode that got me interested in this franchise and i've not looked back heck the show is so popular right now that's spawned various TV specials and a hit feature film but the show does have it's fair share of problems which I have to take into account so it gets a 7.5 out of 10 from me.

Fate/stay night: Heaven's Feel I. presage flower Review

Well then Anime fans or fans of the Fate series it is finally here the new Fate/Stay Night movie is finally mother freaking here and i'm going to tell you my thoughts on the movie weather you like it or not (please like it) so here is my review of Fate/stay night: Heaven's Feel I. presage flower.

I hate to start reviews of on a negative note but I really couldn't work out what the heck the story was for this film the film's IMDB page does have a synopsis but that's not the point i shouldn't have to look on IMDB to see what the story is meant to be it should all be there in the film I get that this is the first part of a trilogy and therefor pretty much the first act of a story but even so a film needs to tell a story.

There is a kinda mystery going on in this film I say kinda because it's brought up once or twice and that's really it and the mystery it self isn't that well done not because it's super easy but because this film doesn't do what a good mystery should it doesn't give you clues at all so you can't work out who's behind this mystery which in this case is people are suddenly falling ill.

Starring in the film are Noriaki Sugiyama as Emiya , Noriko Shitaya as Sakura , Kana Ueda as Rin and Ayako Kawasumi as Saber. Honestly the acting in this film is pretty freaking solid and to me that's because all of the actors that i've mentioned have played these characters in numerous projects so they know the characters inside out and thus can deliver a performance that's catered to those characters.

AS with alot of Fate series this movie is animated by the gods that are Ufotable and if you've seen the TV version of Unlimited Blade Works then you know what i'm going to say next the animation in the film is freaking incredible which is to be expected since this studio always puts in alot of effort when it comes to the animation heck the nickname for Blade Works was Unlimited Budget Works so it's a wonder that the animation in this film was top freaking notch.

As you might have guessed by who I listed in the credits I was watching the subbed version and for alot of the time all I could think of was "wow the dub for this is going to amazing" and I have no idea why I was thinking that but it's true the dub for this does look like it's going to amazing it has alot of great voice actors in it.

Now this whole trilogy is based on the light novel series of the same name by Task Ohna and Type-Moon and I do have to say that after seeing the movie I hope that the light novel actually has a plot so i might check it out just to see what the heck the story and something that I forgot to mention was the fact that the pacing in the film was bad there are times when this film feels really slow.

Going back to the animation for a second the film does have alot of great looking backgrounds ok there not as good as the ones seen in something like Your Name but there better then things you'd see in an anime series and the film does make great use of CGI as well.

Fate / Stay Night has always had great looking fights scenes heck one of the few saving graces if the 2006 Unlimited Blade Works was the fight / action scenes and that is true for this film as well all of the fight scenes in this movie looked really freaking and the animation really did a good job of making the action scenes more fast paced and entertaining.

Now I do have something to admit here I downloaded this movie on Wednesday with the intention of watching it on Thursday but as I was about to hit play another and frankly better movie came online and no it's not the awesomeness that is Love Live! Sunshine!! movie it was Wes Anderson's Isle Of Dogs but tho I have now seen Heaven's Feel (duh) bottom line I will never put of watching a Fate Stay Night movie again.

Overall this movie is way better then the Unlimited Blade Works movie but at the same time I was kinda let down by it so i'm giving this movie a solid 6.5 out of 10.

Some Animated Shows I Want To Review

Cartoon fans you know me I write alot of of reviews some are for movies and some are for TV shows and while I do talk about a lot of shows that I love there's always more shows from my childhood and even present day so here are some shows that I hope to review at some point in the near future.

The Dukes

Back in 2005 maybe 2004 I became a fan of a show called The Dukes Of Hazzard and I would watch it any chance I got heck i've even seen both remake movies and both reunion movies but i've never seen this animated spin-off all the way through.

Looney Tunes

Little known fact I was pretty much all set to do this about a month ago but my laptop was running out of space and without realizing it when I deleted alot of the videos I had on there I also deleted all of the Looney Tunes videos I had downloaded in preparation for the review but I do intend on getting back to it at some point.

Adventure Time

This is a review that i'm going to do whenever the final four episodes drop online so I'm not going to go into why I want to do it right here because honestly it would be pretty pointless.

Most Scooby-Doo! Shows

Guys the only thing that's stopping me from doing this review is the fact that there's so many Scooby Doo shows out there and i'm only one man and the only thing that's stopping me from reviewing all of the shows is the fact I don't want to be in a situation like I was in when doing all three Avatar seasons so I would have to really think about which show I want to tackle and go from their.

My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic

Again this is a series i'm going to tackle but it will be once season 8 has finished airing not directly after but in the months after it is what I mean and i'm doing not only because i'm a fan but because more shows aimed at little kids should be talked about.

James Bond Jr.

I promised this sometime last year on the James Bond amino and it still is on my list of things to review it's just that other shows have leapt ahead of it but I will get to it at some point because not alot of James Bond fans don't know about this show.

Tiny Toon Adventures

This is a show that I will frequently go back and re-watch whenever i'm bored and it's a show that in my mind should be talked about since it's still really funny and there's alot more adult jokes in the show then you remember.and incase your wondering why shows like Steven Universe or Star vs The Forces Of Evil are on here look at the name of the post.

Littlest Pet Shop: A World of Our Own Review

Hello their cartoon fans this is a series I was thinking of reviewing for the past few weeks and everytime I always had a reason not to do it well now i'm finally sitting down to talk about it so here is my review of Littlest Pet Shop: A World of Our Own.

I wouldn't blame you if you didn't know about this series heck until it started showing up online I had no idea about it I can't find a trailer promoting the show but there is alot of news articles about the show but that's really it but it still doesn't change the fact that this show was poorly advertised.

The premise of the show is once a pet makes their owners truly happy they earn access to a town called Pawtucket and the series mainly follows Roxie, Jade, Trip, Quincy, Edie, and Bev who have adventures around the town. Yeah as you can guess this town is really episodic so you can watch the latest episode and know who everyone is and while the premise does make the series sound interesting the fact is it's really not and the rules of this world make no sense what so ever.

Starring in this series are Diana Kaarina , Ingrid Nilson , Travis Turner ,  Kyle Rideout ,  Lili Beaudoin and Rhona Rees. The actors in this show do the best job they can but they are let down by the scripts there given to perform I feel like if the actors had  better scripts then the performances would have been better.

Like I said the performances in the show aren't that bad indeed for a show aimed at little kids they are passable at best but I also go the feeling that the cast were just doing this show just to get a check and not because they were interested in the brand or the show and oh the show has a cat and dog living together which means I have to use this.

Heck it's funnier then most of the jokes in this show but before I talk about the jokes in this show I have to say that there are so few shows that I will call cartoons for various different reasons but in my eyes this show is a straight cartoon and it's as sickly sweet as you can get you'll have to call your dentist before watching a single episode of this show that's how sweet it is.

This show was animated by Irish studio Boulder Media who will be teaming with Hasbro again on the upcoming Transformers: Cyberverse and i have to say that the animation in this show is way better then it has any right to be when you think of Littlest Pet Shop you don't think of something that has good animation and while the animation in this show isn't good by any stretch of the imagination it's far better then what's seen in other terrible kids shows.

What makes this show stand out in my opinion for the wrong reason is the fact that each episode is only eleven minuets long and here that's a bad thing because it means we get rushed resolutions that come out of nowhere and as much as it pains me to say this because this show is pretty bad it would have been better served if each episode was twenty two minuets long since that way things could flow more naturally.

Like I very briefly mentioned before this show is made by Hasbro which pretty much means the sole purpose of this show is to sell toys and it really does show I could picture the toys that would come from this show just from watching a few episodes i'm not saying it's bad that a show is made to sell toys heck that was the sole purpose of the original Ninja Turtles series but don't be so upfront about it and at least try to be clever.

Unlike My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic which quite quickly found a male fanbase I really can't see guys getting into this show heck all you have to do is look at the above picture and you can tell what type of show this is and who it's main audience is.

I'm not even going to mention the web series called Littlest Pet Shop and Late Night Bev because after sitting through an hour's worth of episodes I have no plan on continuing this trash it is aimed at little kids and there's nothing harmful in the show but I have to be honest and say this show is pure trash if you have little kids or nieces or nephews show them something better then it'll be worth it in the long run.

Overall I don't even think I need to say it because i've already said how bad this show is it does have one or two moments that did get a smile out of me but that's it and you need more then that to make even a passable show this show scores a 2 out of 10 from me.

Ballmastrz: 9009 Review

Guys it's finally time five weeks ago I posted my initial thoughts of the series but now Ballmastrz: 9009 has aired it's final two episodes I now present to you my full review of the series so let's get it on.

The plot of the series is washed up player Gaz Digzy is forced to join the lowest ranked team of a sport called "The Game" and if she can get the team to win one game she can join any team she wants. It might not sound like it based of the set up but the series is fairly episodic I say fairly because there are some episodes that drive the story forward but they are few and far between and for me the plot is wonderfully absurd.

Starring in this crazy show is Orange Is the New Black and American Pie star Natasha Lyonne as Gaz Digzy , one of the stars of Adventure Time Jessica DiCicco as both Ace Ambling and the anime inspired Duleena "Dee Dee" Duneeda , Dana Snyder as Baby Ball , Eric Bauza as Flip Champion , Dave Willis as Leto Otel and the shows creator / writer and director Christy Karacas as Crayzar and Aboo Buvu.

The acting in this show is better then what I thought it would be just given the fact that it's an adult comedy from the maker of Superjail but I did enjoy the performances from all of the cast and I had no idea that was Flame Princess playing the young male character Ace she was so believable in that role that I actually thought they had cast a guy in that role.

Handling the animation for the series is Titmouse who animated the opening for Avatar: the Last Airbender and the cancelled Son Of Zorn and I have to say that the animation in this show is fairly decent I say that because there are times where the style the show is going for does become a little distracting.

I have seen other people refer to the show as ugly and I don't think it's ugly looking at all personally I think that's part of the show's visual style but to flip it I can see why they would say it looks ugly it's just in my opinion it's not ugly to look at.

Back when I did my initial thoughts on the series I said that the show looked to be anime inspired and as the show went on I can definitely say that there is alot of anime inspired characters in this show heck one of the teams in this show has characters that are dressed up like Sailor Moon characters and the character of Dee Dee looks like an anime character and that's not to mention all of the anime looking fight scenes which here are when two teams are playing each other in "The Game".

To say this show is crazy would be an understatement half the time I found my self wondering what the heck is going on and the other half enjoying what I was seeing because of how crazy it is and I love the show for being so crazy but at the same time I do wish they would have slowed it down so I could work out what was going on.

For some unknown reason Adult Swim now likes to show two episodes of a show per week and it's something that I don't understand why they do it surely it would be better in the long run to let a show air it's episodes once a week then to air two episodes a week and get the series over and done with as soon as possible and it only seems to be the shows that are fifteen minuets long as well I dare them to do the same thing with something like Rick And Morty and see how well it works out for them then.

Overall this is an entertaining if not flawed show and it's one that I hope does get picked up for a second season and I hope it doesn't take as long as Superjail to make because I want to see more from this world and these characters this show scores a 7.5 out of 10 from me.

Final Space Review

Cartoon fans it is finally here after weeks of an amazing series Final Space has released it's season 1 finale and as I promised all those weeks ago here is my review of Final Space.

The plot of this series is Gary and his cute and also deadly but mostly cute sidekick Mooncake embark on an adventure to find out what final space is and along the way they will pick up new friends. It's really hard for me to describe this series because i've only just watched the finale but when I said all those weeks ago that I had a feeling a story was coming together I was freaking right and it really was well told.

Starring in the series is series creator Olan Rogers as Gary , Mooncake and Tribore , Fred Armisen as KVN (pfft KVN) , Spongebob as HUE , Scrooge Mcduck as Lord Commander , Tika Sumpter as Quinn Airgone and Nightfall , Steven Yeun as Little Cato and Coty Galloway as Avocato. Damn the cast for this show do an amazing job I freaking loved every single freaking performance and even tho I knew David Tennant was in the series I was amazed at how well he hid his voice he doesn't use his normal voice at all and it suits the character really well.

I will say that if you have any tears left after watching Infinity War this show has got you covered especially the last episode for a few early episodes you think it's going to be all happy and jolly and then there's a turning point in the series where something happens to one of the main characters and from that point on wards it takes a more serious approach.

The animation was done by Jam Filled Ottawa and ShadowMachine judging by what else Jam Filled have worked on (it's mostly Thomas & Friends) I think they did the CGI opening with Shadowmachine doing the episodes I know alot of people hate the CGI in the opening I think it's not that bad yes it could be better but tho there are shows and movies with worse CGI.

As for the animation in the actual episodes it was freaking fantastic and beautiful to look at you can see alot of detail in almost every scene and later episodes the animation helps sell the emotion of the scene and that's a very freaking rare thing for me to say.

Now what some people might not know is that creator Olan Rogers is actually a Youtuber and Final Space was one of the videos he made for his channel but it was called Gary Speed so this means Final Space is the first actually good TV series made by a Youtuber and it does prove that people who make Youtube videos can indeed make good TV shows.

Everything that happens in the first season comes full circle by the time we get to episode ten and all of those flash forwards that we see at the start of every episode we find out what caused them and I don't know if it will anyone else but it made me feel sad.

Many people have compared the shows humor to that of Futurama I would like to compare it's action to that of Star Wars (original trilogy not the prequels) because damn is the action in this show freaking impressive and instead of the story being stopped just to have an action sequence the action scenes in this show help advance the story and that's not something that you see that often in most shows.

The only thing that's stopping this from being a perfect series for me is how this first season ends which i'm not going to spoil but it's something that I hate in all series finale's and it really is a huge sin if they havn't been picked up for a second season

Humor wise this show is very freaking funny and for me one of the funniest characters on the show is KVN (pfft KVN) he is so freaking insane and everything he says and does does indeed get a laugh out of me but he's not the only funny character tho at one point or another all of the characters have made me laugh.

Overall this is a freaking fantastic series and if TBS havn't done already then they should pick this up and they would already have a story because Olan Rogers has said that's he's mapped out at least five seasons of the show and so this show gets a 9.5 out of 10 from me.
