My Brief Thoughts On Marvel's Spider-Man

Spider-Man has to be the character that's had the most animated adaptations and now here we are with his latest series Marvel's Spider-Man and these are my brief thoughts on the show so far.

From what i can gather the plot of the show will have Spider-Man trying to stop some evil villain while trying to stop a villain every week. I don't think it's a bad idea to have a villain of the week since the comics have been doing it for years now but i hope they do something different with the formula.

Now i know alot of people will disagree with me on this but i thought Drake Bell did a great job on Ultimate Spider-Man and i have to say the actor they got playing him in this series Robbie Daymond is jot doing that great of job but since we are only two episodes in i can't say if he's a better Spider-Man or not. 

The animation in the show looks like a complete downgrade from the other Marvel shows currently on the air it's not bad but it's nothing to write home about there is some nice movements from the characters and the animation in the action scenes is truly something to behold but there's something a bit of when it comes to the story driven scenes.

Overall so far this is an OK show but i hope that it gets better and i won't be giving this a ranking since this is only my brief thoughts on the series so far.

My Top Two Worst And Top Five Best Cartoons That Came Out Within A Few Years

It's not un-common for cartoon fans to name the best and worst cartoon shows or shows that they like but what makes mine kinda stand out is i'm only covering shows that came out within the last few years and i have to have seen at least the first episode so here we go.

Kong: King of the Apes

Now i admit i was slightly looking forward to this show however all of that excitement went away by the time the first episode reached the 45 minuet mark it was just plain boring in this hour and a half pilot the show changes location twice and ages up the characters at least three times and it doesn't give you a clear idea of what the plot of the show is needles to say i'm not excited for season 2.

The Tom And Jerry Show

Now i'm a Tom And Jerry fan so i thought i'd check out this show since i'd never heard of it and my god was i disappointed not only was the slapstick lacking but so was the animation and those are two things that Tom and Jerry are known for so when you don't have either of those then what you have is Tom and Jerry in name only.

Danger & Eggs

I put this show on this list just due to how funny and creative the show is the show has a wicked sense of humor with all the jokes almost all hitting and the animation is about what you'd expect from a web series and i want to see more from these characters.

Avengers Assemble

Not only do i love cartoons but i also love comic books so anything that combines the two i'm guaranteed to watch at least the first episode but when you mix in great action with great wit then i'll keep on coming back and that's what this show does for me.

Guardians Of The Galaxy

For the reasons why i like this show see the above entry because my thoughts are exactly the same for this show except this time we have the look and designs from the 2014 live action Guardians movie which i love and will always state is the best MCU film ever.

OK KO! Lets Be Heroes

This is the show that right now is keeping cartoon network alive in my opinion it has great storytelling mixed in with great characters , great action and some generally funny moments anytime that KO makes a cute babyish face is pure gold in my book but there's one more show that just topped it.

The Loud House

If OK Ko is saving cartoon network then Nickelodeon is being saved by The Loud House this show has generally great heartwarming stories it might not also have the best jokes but when the jokes land they really land well.

Ducktales: Woo-oo! Review

Animation fans it is finally here after months of waiting the Ducktales reboot has aired it's first two episodes i hope your body is ready because i'm going to jump in and review Ducktales: Woo-oo!.

The basic plot of the pilot special is Huey , Dewey and Louie get dropped of by there Uncle Donald who has asked Scrooge to babysit while he goes on a job interview and the gang get into trouble. I can't really go into two much detail because so much of the plot could be considered a spoiler but story wise this is just two episodes put together and it really shows and there's a great twist when you find out who Donald is interviewing for.

We now have David Tennant as Scrooge McDuck , Danny Pudi as Huey , Ben Schwartz as Dewey , Bobby Moynihan as Louie , Kate Micucci as Webby Vanderquack , Beck Bennett as Launchpad McQuack , Toks Olagundoye as Mrs. Beakley and regular Donald Duck VA Tony Anselmo. I have to say the acting in this film was mostly spot on i loved Kate as the new and improved Webby and the actors behind the nephews were really good but some reason whenever David Tennant was on screen all i heard was David Tennant i didn't here Scrooge but i'm sure that's because out of all of the cast he's the most well known and i couldn't really hear what Donald was saying most of the time.

Bravo Disney for bringing out another show with great animation the animation wasn't great all of the time but it was great 99% of the time and for me that's a win. There's a lot of great movements in there especially during the scenes where Scrooge is pretty much showing of but then there's that 1% where the animation just looks a little off.

Not only does this pilot special have some great action /adventure scenes but it also has a lot of great jokes which sadly had most of them spoiled in the trailer so i won't go into detail about what the jokes are because you'll all already know what they are but let's just say there's two jokes that wasn't in the trailer that i thought was really funny.

This is just the pilot episode so it also has the job of setting up the rest of the series but from what i can gather just of this special the series will most likely have the gang going to a different part of the world almost every week but what really got me interested was based of the final scene it looks like there going to set up hopefully a season long mystery which could be really interesting.

The new theme song is sung by American Idol contestant Felicia Barton and while it will never top the original theme it's still a really good song that has a catchy beat and is very easy to sing along to (which i did when the song first hit the web) honestly there's not much i can say about the song that hasn't already been said.

Overall Ducktales is back and i'm ready for more this was a great special did a good job of setting up the series and since it's a pilot there will be no rating but i will say go and watch this episode right now.

Thomas & Friends: Journey Beyond Sodor

Hello there animation fans and hello there Thomas & Friends fans i'm being honest i did this review because i don't see people talking about this brand and i thought well let's show the latest movie some love so here is my review of Thomas & Friends: Journey Beyond Sodor.

The basic plot of the movie is Thomas finds himself going as the title suggests beyond sodor and he has to find his way home. For a kids film let alone a Thomas film the plot is pretty good it has a few twists and turns in there that kids will like and it's engaging enough for older fans.

Now i watched the american version of the film so in this dub we have Joseph May , Hugh Bonneville , Colin McFarlane , Sophie Colquhoun , Christopher Ragland , Lucy Montgomery and Darren Boyd. I can't really say if the cast did a good job or not because as mentioned it's a movie for little kids and it's a Thomas movie but for what it is the cast were ok nothing special just ok.

I liked the CGI in the movie but as i watched the show when it was first on in the UK i prefer the old model version of the series but that's just me the movie had a lot of pretty backgrounds you can tell that a lot of money was spent on this movie just due to how nice everything looked.

Overall if you have little kids or know someone who has little kids then i'd say show them this movie it's the perfect thing for them and if your an older Thomas fan then chances are your planning on watching this movie i'm not going to rate this movie just because it's a film for little kids.

COMIX: Beyond the Comic Book Pages Review

Hello there comic book fans there's a lot of films about comic book characters out there and there's a ton of comic book movies out there but you know what there isn't a film about comic book's and the people who work on them and with that in mind here is my review of Comix: Beyond The Comic Book Pages.

Now this is a documentary so it doesn't have a story it's just a bunch of interviews but the interviews are at times really interesting and they don't just interview people who work in the industry they interview people who are fans of comic books as well i do have one of the issues i have with this film is the fact that the pacing is at times dreadful.

The film has a lot of people being interviewed and they include the likes of Stan Lee , Mark Waid , Todd Mcfarlane , Doug Jones and  Marc Silvestri to name but a few. There's a lot more people in the film and i think that each of them offers a unique insight into the world of comic books and really it's hard to say who had the best insight since everyone who's in this film is a legend in there own right.

Now i've mentioned the bad pacing the bogs the film down that really isn't helped by the fact that each interview in the different segments of the film doesn't really last long so in each segment you could see the same person two or three times.

I have to give this film credit for not just talking about Marvel and DC which they could have done but as well as talking about the big two we get chats with people from Image , Dark Horse and Top Cow it was nice to see the film shine the light on these little known companies as it would create more awareness for them.

With a title like Beyond The Comic Book Pages i have to say they really meant it not only do they look at the writers and artists but they look at what an inker does and they look at what a colorist does as well and they also take a look at cosplayers and what they feel like when they cosplay as a certain character and the time of abuse they get which was interesting.

Overall if your a comic book fan this is the film for you each of the people interviewed had lots of interesting points to make but for me this film is a 7 out of 10

Lego DC Super Hero Girls: Brain Drain Review

Hello there comic fans , animation fans and film fans the Dc Superhero Girls brand has been going since 2015 and was launched with a animated web series and has spawned two animated films and has an upcoming TV series which is due to air in 2018 so let's take a look at the brands third movie and there first Lego movie Lego DC Super Hero Girls: Brain Drain.

The plot of this movie is someone is brainwashing the superheroes and it's up to Batgirl , Wonder Woman and Supergirl to find out who it is and what they want and stop them. I give this movie for coming up with a decent story that did actually keep me engaged however i have to mention that since the film is an hour and fifteen minuets long there's a lot of rushed moments and messages which i thought hurt the film.

The cast from the web series all reprise there roles in the movie and those are Anais Fairweather as Supergirl , Grey Griffin as Wonder Woman , Ashlyn Selich as Batgirl , Romi Dames as Lena Luthor and Mona Marshall as Eclipso. I actually enjoyed the cast in the movie altho i do have a few things to say it sounded like Anais's voice was getting tired during the movie and she started to sound alot like Cree Summer and the other thing was almost whenever Grey Griffin was talking i only heard Daphne from Scooby-Doo and i will say that more cast are listed but almost none of them get a speaking role and yes Tara Strong is great in this movie as Harley.

In terms of animation i have to say that the filmmakers did an ok job and by that i mean there's a few scenes or shots that looked a bit dodgy to me but the quality overall was really good i got the impression that Warner Bros and The Lego Group were growing more confident with there movies and for me that's a great thing and they also give Harley alot of great facial expressions which were hilarious.

I have to say that this film had a lot of great funny moments i laughed out loud a few times especially early on in the movie where there's a great fourth wall joke which i won't spoil because it's really funny but tho sadly the film also has a habit of putting in jokes during serious moments which took me out of the film and sadly there's also a burp joke which are never funny at all.

It's not often that i get to talk about the action scene's in these direct to DVD Lego movies but the action in this movie i thought was really well done and was also creative as we get to see two of the three main girls use there superpowers which is something that more comic book movies could do with adding.

Now i couldn't find out who did the music for this film which was fine by me since the score for this film was pretty bland but i have to give the filmmakers credit for opening the movie with the Superhero Girls theme song which is actually pretty catchy and it sums up the brand nicely and they use it at the end as well altho they play the full version at the end.

Overall this is for fans of the web series and for little girls who want or already are into the brand there's alot of jokes that only girls will get as well so with all of this in mind i give this movie a 6 out of 10

Fairy Tail : Another One Bits The Dust

Hello there anime fans it's the day that Fairy Tail fans have dreaded and depending on who you ask a few anime fans have dreaded as well as Fairy Tail 545 aka The Final issue is out and so with that another long running series comes to an end but this post isn't about that it's about celebrating Fairy Tail.

Just to give you a sense of how long this series has been going it started out August 2nd 2006 that's eleven years worth of adventures , laughs and character development and for a long time this was one of the few big anime names and like the series that came before it it to has ended but it's also left us with a lot of happy memory's and for me at least Fairy Tail was always about making people happy.

I know this series has a lot of haters for the fact that the power of friendship always seems to win the day but to me that's not a bad thing as having friends can give you the confidence you need to do anything and yes that includes taking down a whole army plus if you had the choice to either face your enemy on your own but he/she has all of there friends or to face them with your friends which option would you choose.

To give you just a small idea of how successful the manga alone was as of February this year the manga had sold over 60 million copies i won't pretend to know if that's more then Naruto , One Piece or Dragon Ball Super but shifting 60 million copies of anything and yet this piece of work that could have easily have been written of has done it if you like the manga or not you have to respect that.

Now i have a special connection to the Fairy Tail anime since that was what got me into the manga but with that said i can see why people don't like it and the same goes for the manga but with that said i still find the anime and manga enjoyable yes they don't have deep plots and in the case of the anime there's a lot of filler episodes but here's the thing it's a perfect adaptation of the manga and there's a only a few times you can truly say that the anime adapted the manga perfectly the anime was such a success that it's spawned two feature films.

Sticking with the anime for a bit i don't know how many DVD's it's sold but if the manga has sold 60 million copies then i can assume that the anime has shifted around the same amount and that's included the first film not just the series itself and yes i'm including both subbed and dubbed versions of both in there as well. 

I give the anime some credit because it helped start the idea of having a long running anime on the air and yes i know about Pokemon but since they change the theme of that show every few years i'm not counting it as a long running series. As a i said before the anime is a perfect adaptation of the manga but since the series was a long running anime that meant we got a lot of filler episodes which weren't needed in my opinion but i'd rather have the filler episodes then have them end the show every few months plus the animation in the show was amazing but there was some dodgy looking animation in the 2014 series.

I think that the thing that Fairy Tail was tug at our heart strings the drama game with this series in both the manga and the anime was strong and i'm thankful for it because when i watch a show or read a book i want to be taken on a roller coaster and that includes going through all the good times and the bad times with the characters to me that makes them more human however what i and i think many disliked was the fact that anyone who died during an arc came back to life and to me that robbed there death scene of all the emotion that it had.

What i discovered while watching this series is that most of the females are actually strong characters they take no BS from the male characters and in terms of Erza are often the ones leading the charge instead of letting the men do all the fighting which could have happened i'm not gonna lie and say the characters in FT are perfect because there not in fact some of the long running jokes where thin quick for me at least but at least they weren't stereotypes.

Overall yes i will be sad that the manga has ended but at the same time there's still the second movie and another series to watch both of which will be bitter sweet but it's better then nothing at all.
