Daredevil TV Series "Into The Ring" Review

 

Ladies and gentlemen depending on where your seeing this review you'll know that i've mainly been covering DC Comics related media for the last week or so and well I grew tied of doing that and so I thought that i'd look at some Marvel stuff. As luck would have it it's been three almost four weeks since I last took a look at something from the Netflix corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and so here is my review of the show that started of that mini universe of Netflix shows (which are technically connected to the Marvel Cinematic Universe) Daredevil with my review of the show's debut episode called "Into The Ring" enjoy the review.

The plot of the episode is new defense lawyers Matt Murdock and Foggy Nelson land there first client in murder suspect Karen Page and it's up to the duo to prove that she's innocent and it's up to Matt Murdock's alter ego Daredevil to keep her safe. I will admit that the plot of the episode to me wasn't that engaging just because to me there wasn't alot of story actually happening and so plot points felt forced but I would understand if someone did like the plot of this episode tho i'm just not one of the fans of the plot of this episode.

Starring in the episode is Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock / Daredevil , Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page and Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson. Also starring in the episode is Toby Leonard Moore as James Wesley , Bob Gunton as Leland Owlsley , Peter McRobbie as Father Paul Lantom , Daryl Edwards as Detective Carl Hoffman , Chris Tardio as Detective Christian Blake , John Patrick Hayden as Jack Murdock and Skylar Gaertner as Young Matt Murdock.

The acting in this episode at least in my opinion was really freaking with all of the actors even those who don't have big roles in this episode truly do deliver solid performances. What helps the acting in this episode is the fact that the script is so good and the script gives the actors alot to work with in terms of there characters and the characters personality as such all the actors have to do really is just say the lines as they are written and nothing more.

I have to say that while the idea of having a good person be arrested for a crime they didn't commit and thus they need the help of our hero or heroes is an over played and over done here the idea really does work. What makes this played out idea is the fact that you feel the pain that Karen is going through and so you want to see her let go free of all chargers which she is here and it also makes her meeting the other two main characters feel more organic instead of having her meet them for no reason she's now meeting them because she actually really does need there help.

There was something in this episode that I found to be unintentionally funny and it's the fact that after the prolog at the start of the episode which details how Matt Murdock become blind the child actor playing a young Matt Murdock seems to add several e's everytime he says see. Just seeing that scene play out which yes I did rewind because it was that funny I have to wonder does the actor always pronounce see with several e's everytime he says it or was it that way in the script I honestly need to know the answer to this question.

Sadly we are now getting into the negatives for the episode but not for long tho because there is still alot of good stuff in to be found in the episode. One of those negatives is the fact that even Karen says you can't trust any one to Daredevil he still for some reason takes the one thing that could clear her name to the press which in turn would bring alot more pain to all of the characters this to me is a dumb move on the part of Daredevil since he's not only putting his life on the line he's putting several lives on the ling honestly the smart thing to do would be to let the villain of the episode think that they've won and then when they are sure that there's no more corruption in the police force then get Karen out of prison since her character really isn't that important to this first season at least from what I can remember it would have made alot of sense to have her be jail for this first season and then have her released at the end of the first season where she could then join with Matt and Foggy and help them out with clients where ever she can.

This episode is fifty two minuets and fifty seconds long which I feel is a tad bit long for this show since the episode doesn't really have alot of story to cover that time frame. If anything this episode should have been at least forty minuets if not a little less then like maybe thirty five minuets but I get it this is Netflix alot of there shows seem to closer to an hour then forty five minuets but when the episode doesn't have alot of story then the time for the episode needs to adjusted.

Like I said before this show and all of the other Marvel Netflix shows are technically set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. AS such whenever you watched a new episode of any of the Netflix Marvel shows you were technically watching the latest installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and I know that these shows are set in the Marvel Cinematic because all of them reference the final battle in New York from 2012's The Avengers AKA Avengers Assemble. I do have to wonder tho why the film makers behind either Avengers: Infinity War or Avengers: Endgame didn't include characters like Daredevil , Jessica Jones , Iron Fist Or Luke Cage because they very easily could have done just by showing them getting snapped away at the end of Avengers: Infinity War or by showing them taking part in the final battle in Avengers: Endgame either one would have worked.

Now then boys and girls since this is an action show that does mean that we have to talk about the action that's in this episode. Which was honestly really freaking well done in my opinion you could just tell that the stunt guys were going all in because there is no way in hell that the makers of the show could have made the set safe enough for the stunts that they do in this episode and the action itself was so freaking good I honestly recommend watching this episode just for the action alone it's that good in my opinion.

Overall this was a really freaking good episode and is honestly a really good representation of what the show is like when it's at it's best in my opinion. That being said however I personally did have issues with the episode all of which i've talked about in this review but I can still see why this became a fan favorite and lasted three seasons because just based of this episode I can say that this is a decent series and with that said this episode gets an 8 out of 10 from me.

The New Addams Family "Halloween With The Addams Family" Review

 

October is every horror fans favourite time of yeah and well in order to celebrate this wonderful time of yeah I thought i'd look at a bad remake featuring a spooky family. There have been so many adaptations of The Addams Family over the years some good some not so good but one the adaptation that people seem to forget about 1998 TV sitcom version and well since it's nearly halloween I thought i'd bring you my review of The New Addams Family debut episode called "Halloween With The Addams Family" enjoy the review everyone.

The plot of the episode is Wednesday and Pugsley go trick or treating while the rest of The Addams Family minus Thing for some reason invite some new friends into there mansion with those new friends turning out to be robbers. The plot of the episode is honestly the least of the episodes problems since there are many more things that are wrong with the episode and it doesn't help that there basically is no story being told in this episode hell what I just described to you could be more of a summery of the episodes events rather then the actual plot of the episode.

Starring in the episode is Glenn Taranto as Gomez Addams , Ellie Harvie as Morticia Addams  and Betty Phillips as Grandmama. Also starring in the episode Michael Roberds as Uncle Fester , Nicole Fugere as Wednesday , Brody Smith as Pugsley , John DeSantis as Lurch , Robert Moloney as Ed , Rob de Leeuw as Bully , David Fredericks as A Police Officer , Suzanne Palmer as A Cop , Martin Novotny as The Grim Reaper and Jerry Van Dyke as The Burglar.

Oh boy where do I begin with the acting in this episode to say that it's bad would almost be an insult to things that are bad. Since yeah the acting in this episode is so freaking bad every actor in this (apart from the actress playing Wednesday) is just so over the top that it becomes annoying all of the adults actors are just hamming it up and not in a way that's fun it's done in a way that makes you want to turn the episode off.

When I said that this episode was a remake I wasn't kidding because they remade the 1977 sixties Addams Family TV series reunion movie Halloween With The New Addams Family. While this episode from what I can gather does change up some things like the title dropping the word New from this episodes title and the subplot of Pugsley and Wednesday going trick or treating this episode is pretty much the exact same story as the Halloween With The New Addams Family hell i'm surprised that this episode didn't introduce Gomez's brother Poncho since he was a character in the Halloween With The New Addams Family as well.

Oddly enough this whole series is mostly made up of remakes from classic episodes from the sixties Addams Family TV show. Which makes me wonder why was this show even made since there's nothing new or creative about the show whatsoever it was purely made just to cash in on The Addams Family IP which by the late nineties when this show was coming out was dwindling anyway so being creative and new would have actually helped the show but I guess that's to much to ask from this show tho.

In all honesty out of the actual Addams Family the one character I actually liked or even found enjoyable to watch was Wednesday. Simply because her character is actually written pretty close to how she was written in the previous films both theatrical and direct to video which made the character fun to watch  because everyone else even to some extent Pugsley are written so badly that they might as well be different characters entirely.

 

For some dumb reason this episode seems to thing that the Addams Family are dumb as hell which couldn't be further from the truth. Yes the family can be a bit dim at times but it's was more of them not knowing about how other people do things and not them not knowing when there being freaking robbed which makes the family look dumb as hell because this is something that the family would be able to pick up on right away.

I wouldn't blame any one if they forgot about this show since it only lasted one season which for some reason lasted sixty five episodes. How this show managed to get that many episodes is truly beyond me since it's such a bad show no one would have blamed the network which in this case was the Fox Family Channel if they cancelled this show after only a handful episodes just because it doesn't take a genius to see that this was a bad show.

Now then since this is a comedy that does mean that we have to talk about the jokes that are in the episode. Which I feel is one of the episodes more stronger suits which isn't a high bar to reach and isn't really a good thing since alot of the jokes in this episode aren't that funny but I will admit that I laughed at the idea of Pugsley and Wednesday going trick or treating as siskel and ebert and spoofing them but even then the joke doesn't really work since as far as I can tell they both gave positive reviews to both the theatrically released Addams Family movies.

Overall this episode was really freaking and not in a so good it's bad kind of way it's just flat out bad and flat out wrong on so many levels. Yes there si some enjoyment to be had with this episode and i'm assuming this series but if this episode is anything to go by then im glad that the show isn't that remember as for what score I give this episode it gets a 2 out of 10 from me , as for where I got these images they where gathered from the official The Addams Family fandom wiki page or Goggle Images and for once I cannot recommend any website because the quality of images is about the same on either one so choose which ever one you want.

 

Izombie TV Series "Pilot" Review

 

Comic book fans you've seen me review a ton of comic book shows that feature superheroes and hell you've seen me take a look at a few that don't feature superheroes. This is one of those shows and it's also a show that i've not really seen for a really long time and since I don't just want to cover comic book shows that feature superheroes I thought that this would be a good show to cover and so here is my review of the first episode of Izombie called "Pilot" enjoy the review everyone because I know that I will.

The story for this episode is a girl is found dead and it's up to Detective Clive Babineaux and morgue worked / newly turned zombie Olivia Moore to find who did it and why. The plot in my opinion is honestly really well told since it does a good job of telling the story of how Olivia Moore became a zombie in the first lace as well as telling the aforementioned plot both of which are really interesting and engaging in my opinion.

Starring in the episode is Rose McIver as Olivia Moore , Malcolm Goodwin as Clive Babineaux and Rahul Kohli as Dr. Ravi Chakrabarti. Also starring in the episode is Robert Buckley as Major Lilywhite , Aly Michalka as Peyton Charles , Molly Hagan as Eva Moore , Ty Olssen as Detective Pratt , Nick Purcha as Evan Moore , Daran Norris as Johnny Frost , Hiro Kanagawa as Lieutenant Suzuki , Alexandra Voicu as Tatiana , Elysia Rotaru as Tess and Jenna Berman as Monica.

In all honesty the acting in this episode was alot better then what I remember it being and I know that I say that or something like it alot but i honestly feel that it's true here since i've only seen this episode and this show once which was when it was first being broadcast. It would have been very easy for the actors in this show to go over the top with there acting since the premise of the show is kind of stupid but no they all went the serious route with there acting and it pays off because for me that makes the comedy and the more dramatic moments work better.

For those of you who don't know this TV show and thus this episode is based on the comic book also called Izombie which was published by DC Comics under there Vertigo banner. The book was written by Chris Roberson with artwork by Michael Allred , Jay Stephens , Jason Bone and James Rugg the book was published between 2010 and 2012 with the series lasting twenty eight issues which means the makers of this show didn't really have alot to work from when adapting the book for TV screens as such I have to assume that the TV show isn't that much like the book but i could be wrong.

While I cannot say if the book is any good since i've not read a single issue of it and nor do I plan to for that matter. I do hope that it is somewhat like the show just because the show was really fun to watch and would get really creative in some episodes and so I would love for that creativeness to be present in the book as well as the sense of fun that there is in the show as well but at the same time I hope that the comic book is nothing like the show just because I feel it would give the show more of a chance to stand on it's two feet.

In most zombie media the infection that causes you to become a zombie is caused when a zombie bites you. Here tho it seems to happen when a zombie scratches you which while it does work given the TV budget and the fact that this show aired on The CW nothing beats a traditional zombie bite there's just something about being bitten by a zombie that makes it feel more personal and at the same time more tragic.

Compare that to getting scratched and it just looses something because getting a scratch isn't personal hell it could be something that happens by accident and thus the idea of someone getting turned into a zombie looses that something that made the idea creepy and scary to begin with. Hell if you want to do something that's more TV friendly and yet still scary then why not have the zombie virus infect people at random this way your constantly on edge over who could turn next and that way should a cast member decide to leave the show you already have a way that they could leave the show.

This episode does introduce something that is honestly kind of cool and that's the fact that when a zombie is enraged he or she get's super strength. I honestly feel that this is actually a pretty cool idea and it's one that given the right property could work in other zombie related media and ity does create some drama for future episodes and future seasons of this show since now your left wondering when our main zombie girl Liv (Rose McIver) will fly of the handal again and if she does would she actually kill someone since she nearly does that in this episode.

One of the biggest issues for me is the episodes running time since the episode is forty two minuet and forty two second long. Which I feel is kind of long for this show since there are huge portions of the episode where nothing is happening to advance either the characters or the plot and as such the episode can at times feel very boring if anything this show should have had episodes that are at least twenty two to thirty minuets long but that's just what I think.

Now then boys and girls since this is a drama that does mean that I have to talk about the shows more dramatic moments. Which is honestly where this episode shines the brightest in my opinion since the show doesn't really hammer the drama down your throat at all it has only a handful of drama filled scenes with the rest of the episode being dedicated to the episode's main story as a well as setting up the main cast which is honestly more important then having a load of drama in every scene or at least that's what I think anyways.

Overall this was a really good and fun episode in my opinion and it's a really good example of how good this show could be. That being said as i've listed in this review the episode does have alot of problems and it's because of those problems that I cannot give this episode a perfect ten out of ten however I can see why this show caught on the way it did because this is a really good episode as such this episode gets a 7 out of 10 from me.

Batman: Death In The Family Short film Review

 

Batman fans i've reviewed quite alot of films and TV shows that feature the caped crusader over the years and i'll no doubt be reviewing more in the future however the one thing that those Batman films have in common is that they are all feature length films. Well there's a technically new Batman film out that's just over thirty minuets long and well since we have a tradition of reviewing each new DC direct to DVD animated when it comes out I present to you my review of "Batman: Death In The Family" enjoy the review everyone.

This is honestly the first DC project animated or live action TV show or film where I actually cannot tell you what the story of the film actually is. That's because while this film does indeed feature a framing story of Bruce talking to someone in a cafe the film mainly features clips from Batman: Under The Red Hood which makes it very hard for me to tell what the plot of this shorty film even is and thus it makes me wonder why the hell this short film was even made in the first place.

Almost every actor that's starring in this film is reprising their roles from Batman: Under The Red Hood as such it would be pointless for me for to split this section up. As such starring in the film is Bruce Greenwood as Bruce Wayne / Batman , Vincent Martella as Jason Todd / Robin and John DiMaggio as The Joker. Since this is an interactive movie and so depending on which choices you make you'll also hear Gary Cole as Commissioner James Gordon and Two-Face and Zehra Fazal as Talia al Ghul and in the newly animated scenes we have the great Nolan North as Clark Kent.

As for what I thought about the acting in the film it was honestly alot better then what I was expecting it to be. The acting in the newly animated footage is really good with both Bruce Greenwood and Nolan North giving solid performances as these iconic characters and the same could be said for the archive footage with the actors in that footage being really good as well and John DiMaggio in my opinion nails it as The Joker.

Now I did contemplate not talking about the animation for this short film since the film mainly uses archive footage and so i really didn't see any point in talking about the animation but I thought that I could just talk about the animation in the newly animated scenes instead. Which I believe features animation by Studio Mir but I could be wrong about that and the animation in those newly animated segments is honestly pretty solid and it blends in really well with the archive footage and so there's no disconnect which for me is a huge plus.

It's hard for me to say where this film takes place in terms of Under The Red Hood since the film features clips from all over the film and the main framing scenes are set after the events of Under The Red Hood. So you could argue that this is a mini sequel to Batman: Under The Red Hood which I guess makes sense but then you have to take into account the fact that the main bulk of the story takes place during the events of Batman: Under The Red Hood.

Not really helping matters is the fact that this film was promoted as a prequel to Batman: Under The Red Hood. Which doesn't really work because the whole idea behind this interactive film is that you get control of the fate of Jason Todd if anything this short film should have been a mini sequel to Batman: Under The Hood and not feature of clips from Batman: Under The Red Hood but instead feature an original storyline with those characters.

This is I believe the first interactive project DC has done be it animated or live action or movie or TV show. Now then since I used "other methods" to watch this film I cannot say if the interactive element is any good nor can I say what's added to the film due to that element but I can say an interactive DC direct to DVD animated movie is an interesting idea and it's one that could work but only if it's given to an actually good film since yeah this short film isn't that good or in my opinion this shirt film isn't that good anyways.

This is so far the longest short film that DC has put out with the film's running time being thirty one minuets long which makes it six minuets longer then Superman/Shazam!: The Return of Black Adam. I honestly don't see why this film had to be thirty one minuets long at all if anything they could have done this film in about twenty to twenty five minuets since there not really telling a new story there just hitting bullet points from the plot of another film.

Just like with the action I did contemplate not talking about the action in this film for the exact same reason because all of the action if seen in clips from Batman: Under The Red Hood but i'm going to do it anyway just because it would feel odd me reviewing a superhero movie and not talking about the action in the film. Which I honestly feel is really good and is where the archive animation really does come to life with lot of fluid movements and each punch really looking like it hurts which for me is always a good thing.

Overall this short film is not only pointless since it adds nothing to Batman: Under The Red Hood but it's also a bad film. Yes there are some good things that are in the film as i've listed in this very review but having a few good things doesn't make the whole film good and if i'm being honest outside of either Warner Bros or DC trying to see if an interactive movie could work with DC's group of character I don't see why this short film had to be made as such I give Batman: Death In The Family a 4 out of 10 please note that just because I gave this short film a bad score doesn't mean I feel the same way about Batman: Under The Red Hood it's just how I feel about this short and this short film only and who knows maybe when I do review Batman: Under The Red Hood I might like it but only time will tell and if you want to watch this film it comes out on DVD and blu-ray on October 13th 2020 which means it's out next Tuesday.

Teen Titans Go! "Truth, Justice and What?" Review

 

Animation fans even tho i've covered alot of superhero movies and TV shows one of the shows that i've never covered is Teen Titans Go!. Well I thought that it was about time that that comes to an end and with six seasons with i'm guessing nearly three hundred episodes there was a lot of episodes to choose from some good and some bad and well I chose what I think to be a pretty good episode and so join me as I review the Teen Titans Go! episode called "Truth, Justice and What?" and so enjoy the review everyone.

The plot to this episode is that after Robin puts and lifts a pizza ban after the titans go wild eating to much pizza after a successful fight they find that all of the pizza in the world has been stolen and so it's it's to the titans to get the world's supply of pizza back. Yes this plot is honestly pretty silly but given the show that it's attached to what else do you expect and to be fair the story was rather simple and was very easy to follow or at least I think it was anyways.

Starring in the episode is Scott Menville as Robin and Donatello , Khary Payton as Cyborg and Hynden Walch as Starfire. Also starring in the episode is Tara Strong as Raven and Greg Cipes as Beast Boy and Michelangelo , yeah i'mm not going to lie it's weird as hell seeing other comic book characters appear in this show and trust me I will get more into this later on in the review just due to how weird and bizarre as well as out of nowhere the appearance by the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles truly is in my opinion.

As for what I thought about the acting in the episode given how talented the voice cast for this show it should come as no surprise to learn that I actually liked the acting in this episode. Like I said the voice cast for this show is super talented and that's something that even people who don't like the show have to admit and so to hear them go from serious to goofy and back to serious like they do in this episode is for me a truly fun thing to see and it's something is very hard to do even more so if what was just said was really funny since then you have to hold the laughter in.

For once not only can I not find out who did the animation for this episode but I cannot find who did the animation for the actual show. Which is a shame because while the show does rather rightfully get alot of hate for it's animation this is one of the better animated episodes in my opinion since the animation is very smooth and fluid at times and from what I could tell there were no animation errors which for this show is always a plus if you ask me that is.

Yeah this episode is technically a crossover episode since even tho they are not mentioned by name and they look alot different it features characters that are so obviously meant to be the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. These knockoffs are so obviously meant to be the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles i'm actually shocked that Warner Bros who are the makers of Teen Titans Go! actually got away with including them in this episode since all they did was change up there design a little bit and not mention there names so Paramount / Viacom could if they wanted sue Warner Bros since it's infringing on there property.

Not enough was really changed about these knockoff characters to really get away with using them since the characteristics are still the same. Hell they even use the same weapons as the actual Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles so for all intense purposes they are the same characters and thus not characters that are owned by either Warner Bros or DC which means that Viacom should they so choose of course sue either company for using there characters without there freaking permission.

I will admit that the way they brought these two groups together to me felt a little forced since they don't explain how the two groups fully know each other even tho they do have a scene very early on in the episode with Robin talking to one of the turtles. They also don't explain how Robin knows where the turtles live , what there password to there secret lair or how the rest of the titans don't know of the turtles these are all things that really needed explaining but due to the episodes only being around ten to fifteen minuets long they don't do explain any of it because they have to hit all of these plot points at a fast pace.

This sadly means that characters cannot be fully developed or the story cannot be developed fully either which is a shame because the story for this episode could have been really good if it was fully developed. It also means that we don't get to see the turtles steal all of the world's pizza which I thought was a really funny idea and is something that could have been a great idea if it was in a slightly longer episode.

Now then since this show is more of a comedy then it is an action show that does mean that I have to talk about the jokes that are in this episode. I honestly feel that the jokes in this episode were fairly funny i'm not going to say that they got a huge laugh out of me because i'd be lieing but for a kids show or a show aimed at kids the jokes in this episode were fairly funny hell even the idea that the titans use a kind of Popeye type of method in the final fight with the turtles is honestly pretty funny and at the same time pretty bada*s.

Overall while I cannot say that this is a great episode I can say that for this show this is a pretty solid episode in my opinion. That doesn't mean that it's perfect because it's honestly not and hell i've listed some of the things that I found wrong with the episode in this very review and i'm sure many of you will tell me many more things that are wrong with this episode as such the episode gets a 5 out of 10 from me.

Girl Meets World "Girl Meets World" Review

 

Disney fans it's been around two months since I last talked about a Disney Channel show and well there's one show that's been on my mind recently due to how good it was. As such I had to talk about this show just to get it out of my system and I have to say that I had a blast going back and watching this debut episode again just because it's such a well written episode anyways here is my review of the Girl Meets World debut episode also called "Girl Meets World" for some odd reason anyways enjoy the review.

The plot of the episode is Riley Matthews wants to be like her best friend but in the process she looses sight of who she is and so it's up to her parents to remind her and to help her make the world hers. Honestly the summery I gave might not be the best way to describe the episode but it was the best summery that I could give since the story is perhaps the weakest element of the episode not that it's a bad story because it's not but it was also pretty thinly drawn I thought (which did for me at) least make it hard to work what the story even was.

Starring in the episode is Rowan Blanchard as Riley Matthews , Ben Savage as Cory Matthews and Sabrina Carpenter as Maya Hart. Also starring in the episode is Peyton Meyer as Lucas Friar , August Maturo as Auggie Matthews , Corey Fogelmanis as Farkle Minkus , Danielle Fishel as Topanga Matthews , William Daniels as George Feeny , Jackée Harry as Evelyn Rand and Kurt Collins as Dweezil.

In a rather shocking move the acting was honestly really good and I say it was shocking simply because you never expect the acting in  live action Disney Channel comedy TV show to be good or even passable.However that isn't the case with this episode with the acting actually being really good which is something that I forgot was the case and so it was really refreshing for me to see good acting in this show as it's something that is very rarely seen in a live action Disney Channel comedy TV show or at least I think it's a rare thing to see anyways.

Unlike the Disney Star Wars sequel trilogy which treated it's legacy characters really freaking badly this show and this episode takes the opposite approach and actually writes the legacy characters really well. This to me is such a good thing because it gives new fans a chance to connect with those characters hopefully in the same way that the older fans did and because these legacy characters are being so well written.

Staying with the writing for this episode the whole episode is honestly really well written in my opinion. This is I think the third time i've seen this episode and I still get hooked by how well written the episode is to me everything about this script minus the weak story is so good I honestly think that this is one of the best comedies to come out of the Disney Channel in a long time because it's so well written and it treats it's characters and the issues that there going through as if there real and not something that's been exaggerated like in most live action Disney Channel comedy TV shows or at least I think so anyways.

Now I can't remember where he said this but writer and co-creator Michael Jacobs said that they chose to litter the show with cameos but rather build on the relationship between Riley Matthews (Rowan Blanchard) and her best friend Maya Hart (Sabrina Carpenter) which if you ask me is such a good move. Since with that relationship the show starts to fall apart and so you have to make that relationship strong in order for the stories to be more believable and for the characters and there development to seem more real and naturel.

This show does something which I wouldn't have done this early in the shows run and that's have something that could threaten the girls friendship or have one them not be friends with the other. Simply because it means nothing this early on in the shows run since we know that there going to become friends again in just a few minuets as such all tension and drama is lost as such I feel that something like that should have been saved for any of the seasons finale or the show's final episode since then it would mean more since we've had the time to get to know the characters and have hopefully have started to care for and about them.

To me this show shouldn't have been cancelled by Disney at all since it's a very good example of what  good Disney Channel comedy TV show could be like when it's well written. Now that this show was cancelled there are no good live action Disney Channel TV comedy shows on there all just the same happy go lucky type of show which for every once in a while is fine but when every show is that kind of show it starts to get boring.

Now then boys and girls since this is a comedy this means that we have to talk about the jokes that are in the episode. I have to say that honestly the jokes were the best thing about the episode just because alot of the jokes honestly had me laughing and laughing hard that's how good the jokes were in this episode and for me to say that is a very rare thing in deed and so you know that it's true and it means something when I say it here.

Overall this is how you do a good live action Disney Channel TV comedy series because not only is the episode really funny which is the most important thing. It's characters both new and old are also really well written and well acted and in terms of the newer cast also well cast , however that doesn't make this a perfect episode infact i've talked about some the episodes faults in this very review as such this episode gets an 8.5 out of 10 from me.

South Park "The Pandemic Special" Review

 

In times of crisis there are so few people that you can count on to keep us entertained and well one of those people if the team behind South Park. I full on admit when this pandemic really started I knew that at somepoint the team behind South Park would be taking a shot at it and well I was freaking right and I have to say that this is the episode that we need right now and so here is my review of "The Pandemic Special" enjoy the review everyone.

The plot behind the special is that the town of South Park is getting used to a new normal whatever form it takes but not all people espically Eric Cartman are happy about it even more so when it means going to back to school. I will admit the plot of the episode is perhaps it's weakest aspect since it's pretty thinly drawn which is a shame because South Park doing an episode about the current pandemic the story just writes itself but the story just isn't that good in my opinion.

Now here I would normally list who is in the episode however since the cast for this episode and this show is pretty well known i'm honestly just not going to. I will say tho that all of the people that you expect to be in this episode and by that I mean the series regular cast are indeed in this episode and they are all playing there regular characters which is honestly to be expected but since I can't find a complete cast list and like I said the cast for this show is pretty well known anyway I thought that it was something worth saying anyways.

For once I cannot think of single bad performer for this show because all of the actors in the episode do such a good job playing there characters. To me what helps the actors in this episode is that there taking on something that's happening right now and so they can draw from there own experiences and any issues that they might have experienced during these difficult and let's face weird and bizarre times and so that makes the acting to me feel more real if that makes any kind of sense.

Doing the animation for this special episode is I assume South Park Studios since that's the only company I can find related to the animation but I could be wrong. I have to say that the animation in this special was a lot better then what I thought it would be I honestly feel that the animation in this special is something that would be right at home in a South Park movie because it's that good and is a huge upgrade from what we get in the show in my opinion.

Part of what makes me feel like this animation would suit being in a new South Park movie is the opening shot of Cartman's house. It's huge 3D CGI shot and you see the camera slowly move towards the house and in through the window to Cartman's bedroom this is honestly something that you wouldn't see in an average episode of the show and while I can see why since the average episode is produced on a schedule of six to seven days the fact that such a shot is included here to me shows what the team can do if they really wanted to.

Now while the main focus of the episode is indeed the pandemic and how that effects different people in different ways. The episode also very briefly touches on another social issue which i'm not going to say what it is just because I don't want any arguments to break out but when the scene that starts it came on I knew that it was going to cause quite a stir and while i haven't looked to see if i'm right I feel that the way the makers of this special chose to handle it works well for this special and I ask that if you do know what scene i'm on about I ask that you do not come at or anyone else who doesn't agree with you and your opinion we're here to have fun and talk about South Park and nothing else.

This episode makes fun of alot of people from every corner that the current pandemic has been looked at. Which yeah I feel is a good thing because sometimes we do need to laugh at ourselves and the situation that we are currently in which is honestly the thing that we need the most right now because if we can't learn to laugh at our selves and those around is in this current climate then who can we have a laugh at.

Just going back to what I was talking about before with the episode taking shots at everyone one of I think key groups people that this episode takes shots at is the people who same you for not wearing a mask. This was honestly a brave move on the part of the people who make the show because they risk upsetting a possibly huge part of there audience but at the same time it wouldn't be South Park if they didn't go out and offend people and the fact that they do it in a way that not only works within the story but is also pretty funny when you think about is for me at least a plus for this special and is something that I hope people laugh at in the future or are currently laughing at right now.

On to a much more lighter note this episode is the show / franchises first hour long special with the special clocking in at around forty seven and a half minuets. While I do feel that for the time being this kind of format would work for the show I do feel that this story would have been better told in weekly episodes hell they could have made an entire season's worth of episodes just based around the pandemic alone as well as how it effects different characters in different ways but having it be this long special does also mean that we get one of the best scenes in the special in my opinion.

To me one of if not the best scene in the entire special comes right after that amazing looking 3D CGI shot. Since they give Eric Cartman a song and it's just as ridiculous and over the top as you not only think it would be but as you'd want it to be the song is called "Social Distancing" and it's just an a amazing song that honestly had me laughing and is honestly a good way to start the special proper since lie I said we all need a good laugh and it makes sense for this character to be happy about not being able to talk to people and not having to go to school.

Now then since this is a comedy that does mean that I have to talk about the jokes that are in this special. I honestly feel that this episode is one of the best episodes that South Park has produced in a long while because it is just so freaking funny I cannot count the amount of times that I laughed not only hard but out loud during this special which for me is a very rare thing to happen and so the fact that it happened here tells you how good I thought the jokes were in this special.

Overall this was a really good and a really funny episode in my opinion and it's also one that like i've said several times now that we need right now. Yes this episode isn't perfect but for a show that's been going on for this long and has been very consistent with it's episode quality I think we can forgive them for putting out an episode that's not that good as such this episode gets a near perfect score of an 8.5 out of 10 from me.
