Justice League: Crisis On Two Earths Review

DC fans it's been around two weeks since I last talked about any of the animated films or live action films that the company has released and yes I know that I covered Return To The Batcave but that wasn't released by DC so yeah. So I thought that i'd tackle a film that i've not seen in years and even then the copy that I own only has one working disc since it's region 1 and I don't live in a region area luckily the disc that works is the one with the film and so here is my review of "Justice League: Crisis On Two Earths" enjoy.

The plot of the film is the Justice League goes to a parallel earth at the insistence of that earth's Lex Luthor to help him defeat the evil Crime Syndicate who are evil versions of the Justice League. In all honesty the plot to this film so simple which is perhaps it's biggest flaw as well as it's greatest strength because there's no depth to the story whatsoever but at the same time due it being simple the story can be very entertaining to see play out.

Starring in the film is William Baldwin as Bruce Wayne / Batman and Mark Harmon as Clark Kent / Superman. Also starring in the film is Chris Noth as Lex Luthor , Gina Torres as Superwoman , James Woods as Owlman , Brian Bloom as Ultraman , Jonathan Adams as J'onn J'onzz / Martian Manhunter , Josh Keaton as Wally West / The Flash and Aquaman , Vanessa Marshall as Princess Diana / Wonder Woman.

As for what i thought about the acting in the film it honestly wasn't that bad but the issue for me comes with the casting. Since alot of these actors just don't really match the characters there playing take for example William Baldwin who i'm sure is a good actor but he's not Batman he's to soft spoken to really give Batman the darkness that that character demands as for Gina Torres she's miscast because all you hear while watching the movie Zoe from Firefly and the same goes for James Woods all you here is the actor and not the character.

Doing the animation got the film is Moi Animation Studio who are most known for there work on Avatar: The Last Airbender. As for what I thought about the animation in this film it's honestly really freaking good which shouldn't come as a surprise since alot of the animated direct to DVD DC Comics films feature good animation but honestly the animation featured in this film looks like it could be in a theatrically released movie and one that went straight to DVD.

This film was originally meant to be set in the DAU (DC Animated Universe) with the film serving as a bridge between Justice League and Justice League: Unlimited. For whatever reason they chose not to make for a few years and then the line of straight to DVD DC films was proving to be a hit they found the script for this film and rewrote and reworked it into the film that we see today so technically you could say that this is a Justice League / Justice League: Unlimited movie but that's if you freaking wanted to tho.

I have to say that I liked the idea behind the Crime Syndicate having an evil version of the Justice League to me is such a cool and creative idea simply because it allows you to do things with those characters that you couldn't do with there regular counterparts. Think about it you can't have Superman threaten to kill someone but you can have Ultraman he's evil counterpart do so and that to me makes them a cool idea heck I don't know why they haven't made there way into live action yet since they very well could have made good villains in the 2017 live action Justice League movie.

Also being a god idea is that the world that the Crime Syndicate live on is in fear of them and what they can do. That right there gives are heroes a good reason to go and save this world since it's on the brink of destruction due to the Crime Syndicate and what there planning as such it makes sense the Lex would go and search out the Justice League to help since who else better to defeat these villains then people who have the same powers and gifts that the Crime Syndicate have.

This film is an hour and fifteen minuets which honestly isn't long enough for this kind of story because there are so many characters and subplots in this film and due to the short running time the film doesn't have the time to cover them all. As such I feel that this film should have been around an hour and thirty maybe an hour and forty minuets just to really let the plot breathe and give the plot the time that it needs but because of that short running time the film has to hit all of these plot beats fast and not all of them work because of the short running time.

One of those plot lines is the romance between J'onn J'onzz and Rose Wilson which barely gets brought up. Which is a shame because if that plot line was given the proper time to fully develop then it could have been something really sweet and touching but because it's stuck in a film that has a short running time it doesn't have as much impact as it could have had and it doesn't leave much of an impact on either the viewer or either character at least from what we see anyways in the film anyways.

Now then boys and girls since this an action film that does mean that we have to talk about the action that's in the film itself. Which I feel the most entertaining part of the film since to me it's always fun seeing the whole Justice League or in this case it's core six members (J'onn J'onzz , The Flash , Green Lantern , Superman , Batman and Wonder Woman) fighting as a team and showing what they bring to the team , it was also during this watch of the film that I realised that this film is alot like Mad Max: Fury Road in that like that movie this one is basically one long action sequence with only a few breaks inbetween and thats something that I never noticed before now.

Overall this was a rather enjoyable film and it did keep me entertained all throughout the film but at the same time it also left me wanting more but not in a good way. I wanted more from the story , I wanted more from the characters I just wanted more because the potential was there for a great movie but due to the short running time that was never going to happen and so even tho is a good movie it gets a 7 out of 10 from me.

I have to say that alot of the images aren't as HD as I thought that they would be if anything I was expecting them to be more HD then what they are but at the same time this film did come out over ten years ago (it came out on February 23rd 2010) and so I can't really fault them for not having that many HD images and so I will say use them if you want to.

My First Impressions Of The Cursed TV Series

Ladies and gents while the rest of the entertainment industry has been shut down Netflix has been everyone's sole way of entertainment and well they are back with yet another new show. This time based around the legend of King Arthur and while the first teaser for the show didn't do anything for me it was the official trailer that made me mark the release date in my calendar and so here are my first impressions of "Cursed" enjoy.

The plot of the episode is a teenager with a mysterious gift is has something tragic happen to her and so sets out to find the wizard Merlin and give him a very familiar sword. Now I know that I made this episode seem boring and dull but that's because I want to you to check out the episode for yourselves , since I do believe that the episode is worth watching just for the story because it's that good and it does a good job of setting up the rest of the show.

Starring in this episode and thus the rest of the series are Katherine Langford as Nimue and Devon Terrell as Arthur. Also starring in this episode and the series is Gustaf Skarsgård as Merlin , Lily Newmark as Pym , Sebastian Armesto as King Uther , Catherine Walker as Lenore and Billy Jenkins as Squirrel. Since there is no complete cast list for this episode I have to assume that some of the people i've credited appear in this episode but I cannot say for sure.

In terms of what I thought about the acting in the episode it was honestly alot better then what I expected it to be. In that I was straight up expecting the acting in this series to be really freaking and so to see the first episode have actual good acting for me at least is a good thing and it helps that some of the cast members in this episode have some great chemistry with each other which makes me want to see more scenes with them together.

Now then in a strange twist the source material for this show was the 2019 book also called Cursed with both the book and this show being developed at the exact same time. This actually makes the series the quickest adaptation of any book which for me adapting this book so soon is a bold thing because it's not a proven hit and so there was no guarentee that the show would be a hit either and it means that there would need to be a sequel book published within the next few years in order to make sure that the book stays ahead of the show but it does help that the creators behind the book comic book legend Frank Miller and writer Tom Wheeler are also working on this show as both executive producers and show runner (Tom Wheeler) respectively.

Like alot of you i've not only never heard of the book but have also never read the book in fact the only thing I know about the book is that it features drawings by Frank Miller and that's it. As such I cannot say for sure if this episode is true representation of the early chapters of the book and neither can I cay which is better as such I can only judge this episode as it's own thing which while it does have it's flaws which I will be getting into it can be really entertaining to watch which is a good thing.

One of the things that I didn't like about the episode is the fact that it's nearly an hour long with the running time being around fifty five minuets. Which in my opinion is bit long for this episode since it doesn't have alot of story to fit that running time as such we do get alot of scenes with the main character that go nowhere and don't play a part in the overall plot of the episode as such I feel that this episode could have been around forty to forty five minuets in length and you'd loose nothing of importance.

This episode was also alot more violent then what I thought it was going to be which i'm not going to lie I loved that. Simply because if the types of things that we see happen in this episode happened in real life they would be violent and I really do hope that alot of the violent as hell stuff that we see in this episode has a lasting effect on either the series or the main characters just because it would make the show alot more interesting to watch in my opinion.

Let's take a second to talk about the main character of not only this episode but also the show as a whole that being Nimue as played by the stunning Katherine Langford. I actually like the character in this episode to me she's someone who is angry at the world because she wants to be "normal" or what she perceives to be normal and since her whole village knows that she's not that makes her want to last out and anyone over anything which honestly makes her fun to watch and it gives her alot of character which is something alot of YA novels don't do and yes this is based of a YA novel.

I'm not going to say who Nimue becomes in terms of the legend of King Arthur but they do kind of give it away in the opening minuets of this episode. Which is something that I didn't like simply because it now means that you know that something tragic will happen to this character and what there fate is and so I feel if they didn't tell us who this character becomes then it would make the stakes alt more higher in my opinion.

In my opinion this episode is alot better then the premier episode of Warrior Nun simply due to the fact that this episode didn't put me to sleep. On top of the fact that it has good acting and good writing both of which the Warrior Nun premier episode didn't have and as such I would very easily recommend this show over Warrior Nun to anyone because here you'll at least be entertained and you'd get to see characters that you actually like and want to see more of.

Overall this was a very good episode that did alot of the things that all good debut episodes should do in my opinion. That being setting up the characters journey for the rest of the show as well as the story of the show , that being said there are some bad things in this episode some of which i've covered in this review but i'm sure that if you guys see the episode you'll see somethings that I missed and as such this episode gets a solid 7.5 out of 10 from me.

Sword Art Online Episodes 1-3 Review

Anime fans depending on where your reading this review you'll know that i've been on bit of an anime kick as of late and well I thought that i'd continue this trend. So I thought that i'd pick an anime whose storyline is a little bit easier to pick up on and where apart from the first twp episodes at least the stories are pretty much self contained and so here is my review of the first three episodes of "Sword Art Online" enjoy.

The plot of the first two episodes is Kirito finds himself stuck inside the new game Sword Art Online with thousands if not possibly millions of players and with the only way out being to beat the game and if you die in the game you die in real life. The plot of the third episode however has Kirito dealing with being in a guild and what means in this game. In all honesty I kind of prefer the plot for the first two episodes since it gives you a closer idea of the ideas and themes behind this first arc but with that being said the story in episode is also really nice and the fact that it's a more personal story to me seems about right since we just came of two episodes of setting up Kirito and not really seeing the true threat behind this world.

Starring in these episodes are Bryce Papenbrook as Kirigaya Kazuto (Kirito) and Cassandra Lee Morris as Kirigaya Suguha and Hosaka Tomo aka Argo . Also starring in the episodes are Kirk Thornton (Klein) , Cherami Leigh as Yuuki Asuna (Asuna) , Sean Chiplock as Diavel , Patrick Seitz as Andrew Gilbert Mills (Agil) , Derek Stephen Prince as Kibaou , Lucien Dodge as Keita , Xanthe Huynh as Sachi , Tyler Shamy as Tetsuo , Bobby Thong as Sasamaru and Erik Kimerer as Ducker.

In all honesty the acting in these episodes in my opinion was just OK at best which given how bad this show can get and does get with the second half of it's first season OK is the best that we could ever hope for. That's not to say that the acting is bad because it honestly isn't but the actors aren't really given much to work with in terms of the script and character and so they can only do so much with the stuff that there given.

As you can no doubt work out from the above picture the animation not only for these episodes but also the whole series was done by A-1 Pictures who most notably did work on Fairy Tail. I have to say that while the animation isn't that good in the dialog scenes or the scenes where the characters are just standing still when it comes to the action tho the animation is freaking stunning to look at with each strike and blow leaping of the screen.

Again for those that don't know this show originally started of a series of light novels (don't ask me what a light novel is I don't know) and has since been adapted into several manga as well as an anime series and anime film with a live action American TV series in development. I'm going to be honest I don't think i've read any of the light novels or the manga but I could be wrong tho and as far as I know the manga is still being published to this very day.

When this series first came out it was getting alot of hate from alot of anime fans and quite frankly i don't see why. Since these three episodes have alot of heart and the first arc due to concept has alot of stakes as such in every fight scene no matter how outnumbered our heroes are your always scared that they could die and that's something that you don't get from a lot of anime and I have no idea why that's the case since it's a great way to have dramatic moments but I was cheering this show on from episode 1 and even through the dreadful second arc I was still saying that it's a good show and so i'm not pleased to see that alot of peoples opinion's on the show have changed.

Episode three is in my opinion one of the best episode in this first arc simply because it really hits home how dangerous this world can be. All throughout the first two episodes we are told how dangerous this game is and are barely shown in but in episode three we see an entire guild who are all friends in real life get killed with the group's only female member telling Kirito that there death was not his fault and thanking him for helping them and for being a good friend.

That to me is such a heartbreaking thing to see because we're not seeing a game character talking to another game character we're seeing one human being telling another human being that it's OK and that there death wasn't there fault. That's why episode 3 is so heartbreaking to me and I have to wonder why more anime don't have more scenes like this since it's a really effective way to get people crying since hopefully they'll care for the characters.

Now then this is of course an action series and so that does mean that we have to talk about the action itself. Which I feel is so freaking good because like I said the animation in those sequences is so good every strike and slash leaps of the screen and that to me makes the action more exciting because that's when your going to see alot of the best animation in this series but that's just my opinion tho you guys might think that the animation in the action scenes is pretty freaking bad.

Overall these are a good set of episodes with there biggest issue at least in my opinion is that they don't give us a reason to care for or about Kirito. Which is a shame because the show gets to it's action sequences they can be quite entertaining to see and are in my opinion very well animated but either way i'm glad that I checked these episodes out since they gave me a chance to revisit Sword Art Online as such these episodes get a combined score of 7.5 out of 10.

Chip 'N' Dale: Rescue Rangers "Piratsy Under The Seas" Review

So the boys and girls it's been a fairly long time since I talked about anything that came from the Disney brand and while yes I have talked about Marvel movies i've not talked about something that Disney themselves have created in exactly a month. I thought that it was time to end that dry spell and look back at something that the company had put out and while it would have been very easy for me to do a Disney animated movie I never like to do things the easy way and so I chose what was technically this shows debut episode and so join me as I review the very first episode of "Chip 'N' Dale: Rescue Rangers" called "Piratsy Under The Seas" enjoy.

The plot of the episode is the rescue rangers find themselves of a Trash Barge after Dale gets himself taken by a rubbish collector and his friends try to save him but while on the barge both he and Chip find themselves kidnapped by rat pirates and so the duo along with the rest of the rescue rangers have to find a way of the pirates underwater ship. In terms of what I thought of the story isn't that bad it's the kind of story that one would expect from this show and to the episodes credit it gets straight to the point with the story which is something that you hardly ever see in either cartoons or in live action or at least I think so anyways.

Starring in this episode are Corey Burton as Dale , Zipper and 'Avery and Peter Cullen as Monterey Jack and Young Ned. Also starring in the episode is voice acting legend Jim Cummings as Jolly Roger and voice acting legend Tress MacNeille as Chip and Gadget. I honestly had no idea how many voice acting legends were in this episode nearly everyone who is in this episode is considered a legendary voice actor and so to think they all appeared in this episode is truly mind blowing to me since I love them all.

In terms of what I thought about the acting in the episode it was honestly really freaking good all of the actors deliver truly great performances. The only issue that I personally have with the acting is that the voices for both Chip and Dale can get quite annoying since all they did was alter the pitch of the voices and because of that it's hard to tell which is which because they both sound the same and so I think that they should have come up with different voices for each of the characters and found a way to make there voices less annoying but that's just me.

Now even tho the show was indeed produced by Walt Disney Television Animation now simply Disney Television Animation the actual animation for the show and I assume the whole series was handled by TMS Entertainment then going under the name of TMS Entertainment Inc. For me the animation was at best OK it's not bad by any means but for something that has the Disney name on it you expect better animation even from a TV show and I just wasn't getting it.

If you recall at the start of the review I referred to this episode as the first episode and that is both the truth and a lie because the second episode of the series "Catteries Not Included" first aired as a sneak preview of the series. However when the episode was re shown after the official premiere it became the second episode but I personally refer to this episode as the first episode as it was the first episode to air when the show officially premiered.

This show aired as part of the famous programming block The Disney Afternoon which would air every weekday afternoon. This show actually didn't start out as part of The Disney Afternoon it actually started out on Disney Channel but because enough episodes were produced to get the show into syndication it was sold with Ducktales into syndication and added to The Disney Afternoon to support new show Adventures Of the Gummi Bears so while this isn't a Disney Afternoon original it's one of the three shows that helped that block standout since both Chip and Dale were Disney characters before this show was even made and so you all know this episode and show came out in 1989 with the series lasting until 1990.

As you can no doubt tell by the poster The Disney Afternoon was a two hour programming block made up of almost entirely new cartoons with a few classic shorts thrown in to get it up to two hours. Honestly reading the shows that premiered as part of or were added to this block reads like a what's what of a nineties Disney fans childhood since we have shows like the original Ducktales , Talespin , Adventures Of The Gummi Bears , Goof Troop , Hercules and many more it's no wonder this block was not only a huge success but is also fondly remembered since it had alot of really good and memorable shows on it.

Now one thing I never really noticed until I was watching this episode is the fact that that dressed Chip up to look like Indiana Jones and they made dale look like the main character from Magnum PI the original not the remake. Which honestly kind of suits there personalises for this show and thus this episode since Dale is more of a goof ball while Chip is the kind of character who would go looking for adventure.

Something that I really didn't like about this episode is the fact that the over three rescue rangers those being Monterey Jack , Gadget and Zipper don't really have a alot to do in this episode. There whole purpose in this episode is to rescue Chip and Dale and that's it which really isn't that much since they get close to archiving that within fifteen minuets and so I would halve liked it if these characters perhaps had a subplot going on or something that could tie into the main plot of the episode instead of just having them try to rescue Chip and Dale.

One of the things that I liked about the episode was how they portrayed the pirates and I thought that they were done in a creative way. Since there not really portrayed as the bad guys but neither are they the good guys they were kind of in the middle in that they'd do bad things in one scene but in the next scene they'd act like good guys which to me made them more entertaining tow watch which is always a plus in my opinion.

Overall in terms of first episodes this one wasn't that bad since it gave me a good sense of what the show was about and how the other episodes would play out. That being said tho this episode isn't that good since there are some jokes in the episode that don't really work that well but overall the episode is really good in my opinion as such this episode gets a 7 out of 10 from me and if you guys want to see me cover more episodes from Disney Afternoon shows then please let me know.

She-Ra: Princess of Power "Duel At Devlan" Review

Animation fans there are alot of reboots out there and not all of them are any good but one of the ones that somehow managed to make the old fans angry and yet pull in new fans was She-Ra And The Princesses Of Power. Now sadly i'm not going to be taking a look at an episode from that show because that wouldn't be that fun for me so instead I chose an episode from the original show because i've never seen this show and so join me as I review what is technically the first episode of the show "Duel At Devlan" enjoy classic and current animation fans.

The plot of the episode is a small town is being threatened by helpers of the evil Hordak and so She-Ra has to help them out. To say that the episode is pretty might on story would be a huge understatement since it's pretty bare bones but from what I can gather alot of animated shows from the eighties were the same so I can't really knock this show for doing what other shows were also doing but it is still an issue and it's one that bugged me a little bit as well since there was no reason given as to why I should care about the characters or want to see them succeed. 

Starring in the episode are Melendy Britt as She-Ra/Princess Adora and Kristala's Mother and George DiCenzo as Bow , Dylamug and Darius. Also starring in the episode is Linda Gary as Glimmer and Madame Razz and producer Lou Scheimer being credited as Erik Gunden for some unknown reason is here staring as Swift Wind/Spirit , Dylamug , Sprag , Sprocker , Broom , Devlan Villagers and Horde Troopers.

Now this is something that I wasn't quite sure how to handle because alot of the guest characters don't get alot of screen and alot of the main characters barely get any dialog and so i'll do my best to judge the acting for this episode. I honestly feel that the acting in the episode decent it was honestly hard to judge the acting in this episode for the reason that I stated before but based of what I saw the acting was decent at best.

Now I cannot find who did the animation for this show or this episode but I do know that Filmation did animation and produced this show so i'm going to assume that they did the animation for the episode as well as the show. Speaking of the animation for an eighties animated TV show it was OK I can't say that it was good because it really wasn't but given that this show was made to sell toys there's alot more effort in the animation then what was needed.

The animation also looks really cheap which I get was what Filmation was known for doing but they didn't have to make it so obvious. How you know that the animation was done on the cheap is that there are times where you cannot see a characters move moving or the fact that they have She-Ra flying on her horse so that they don't have to animate backgrounds there's all of these little things that tell you that the animation was done cheaply and it's stuff that really isn't needed in my opinion.

Now I know that i'm going to get some flack for saying this but after just one episode of this show I can tell that it's more fun to watch then She-Ra And The Princesses of Power was. Simply because this show knows that it's campy as all hell and has fun with it where as the reboot is more concerned with trying to be a serious piece of art that it forgets to be fun and i'm someone who enjoyed the first season of the reboot but couldn't get into the other seasons.

I will admit there are somethings that the reboot does better then this episode did lack the fact the reboot put alot of focus on the story which this episode didn't do. That for me is a good thing because it means that I have a chance to care about the characters and to get invested in there adventures and while I was invested in this episode I wasn't concerned about the characters because I had to reason to be which is always a bad thing.

Now I personally refer to this episode as the first episode of the show because there was a pilot movie released called He-Man And She_Ra The Secret Of The Sword which was the first five episodes of She-Ra: Princess Of Power edited into a feature film. Even tho this film has the first five episodes of the show in it for many people this was just a film and nothing more with "Duel At Devlan" being the official first episode.

There was one character which really annoyed the hell out of me and he / she / it is only screen for around a minuet and it's the character of Loo-Kee. That character is only there to tell the audience what the moral of the episode was and nothing more but the character has this really annoying voice and it is so freaking obnoxious and is honestly just a pointless character since he adds nothing to the episode or the show as a whole.

Now even tho there is some action in this episode given that it's a kids show the action isn't a big part of the episode. Which yeah actually makes sense since like I said it's a kids show but with that being said there is some action and it's exactly as OK as you think it would be , I can't really be to hard on this show since it's a show made for kids and for a kids show the action I felt was pretty good and was entertaining to see.

Overall this was a really solid episode it was really fun to watch and it's an episode that I can see myself going back to and re-watching. This episode isn't perfect by any means but from what I can gather the issues that I had with this episode also extend to the show but there's a chance that I could be wrong with that , I can also say that this episode is more fun to watch then the reboot is as such the episode gets a 6.5 out of 10 from me.

Superman: Unbound Review

DC Comics fans it's been little around a month since I last talked about anything animated from DC Comics and while I was content to leave it a little longer. What I didn't want to do was for you all to think that I forgot that the company makes animated straight to DVD movies and as luck would have it I happen to own a few of them on DVD and so it was just a case of me picking one out and I picked one that I not only haven't seen in a while but also never reviewed and so here is my review of 2013 film "Superman: Unbound" enjoy.

The plot of this film is an alien robot crash lands on Earth and after a brief battle with Superman the man of steel finds out it is in fact a scout robot and what follows it is something much more dangerous. Yeah I had no idea how to summarise the plot of this movie and so I did the best that I could , I did find the story to be rather well told and that is honestly the best thing that I can say about the story because it's also rather simple as well which isn't really something I personally want from an R rated DC animated movie.

Starring in the film is Matt Bomer as Kal-El / Clark Kent / Superman , Stana Katic as Lois Lane and John Noble as Brainiac. Also starring in the film is Molly Quinn as Kara Zor-El / Supergirl , Diedrich Bader as Steve Lombard , Alexander Gould as Jimmy Olsen , Frances Conroy as Martha Kent , Stephen Root as Zor-El , Jason Beghe as Terrorist Leader , Sirena Irwin as Alura , Wade Williams as Perry White and Melissa Disney as Thara Ak-Var.

As for what I about the acting in the film I honestly thought that it was that bad but that's also the issue since it's not that good either. Nobody really makes the character their own or makes an effort to do so these performances will just be one of thousands of versions of these characters with nothing done to help the actors make their performance standout but like all of these films all of the characters are indeed really well cast.

The animation for the film was provided by Moi Animation Studio who apart from working on Avatar: The Last Airbender have also worked on several DC animated properties for both TV and film. In my opinion the animation in this film was actually one of the better things about the film since it's that good you can tell that the people who worked on the animation have alot of passion for what they do since they are always trying to push themselves further and further and that kind of passion really does show in this film.

Now I do believe that this is the second straight to DVD animated DC movie to feature Supergirl not counting all of the DC Super Hero Girls movies of course. AS such I do want to talk about her character since I honestly liked how they did her in this movie they portray her as typical teenager in that she's angry at the world and wants to rebel against everything and everyone the only difference here is she has superpowers and she actually has a pretty traumatic past that not only ties into but has an effect on the main plot of the film.

Now what many of you might not know is that this film is based on the comic book storyline Superman: Brainiac which was published in Action Comics in 2008 lasting from issues 866 to 870. Now I know nothing about the storyline in question as such I have no idea if this is a good representation of the book or not but I can say that after watching this film I do want to check out the storyline just because it seems like a good storyline.

This film is just over an hour and fifteen minuets long which while that is the average length for one of these movies doesn't do this film any kind of justice. If this film had been at least an hour and a half long I feel that things would have moved at a more natural way instead things feel rushed which is sadly how things feel here and that shouldn't be the case the case the story should dictate how long the film is and not the other way around.

What I wasn't expecting from this film was for the character of Supergirl as played by Molly Quinn to have a traumatic past. Her past in this film, is that Kandor her home planet was trapped by Brainiac with Supergirl's parents on it as such she harbors a sense of survivors guilt and is fearful that Brainiac will come and attack her new home I honestly wasn't expecting her past to be this shocking and to have it effect her character in the present day actually makes alot of sense to me and i'm shocked that other adaptations of the character haven't taken the same approach with her.

It's not only Kara who has a plot arc either because Clark and Lois actually have a plot arc as well as Clark has to get over his fears of letting the world know that Clark Kent is dating Lois Lane. The Clark and Lois plot line I actually didn't like that much because Clark's fears are pretty genuine and the the fact that Lois just blows them of is if there not that important just makes her seem like a b**ch which should never be the case yes there should be some give and take between the two but here Clark is fearful of loosing her and so she should back off the subject a little bit.

Now let us take a second to talk about the villain of the film who as you can see is Brainiac and as stated before was played by John Noble. I really didn't like the character in this film because they striped away his smarts just so they could make him more evil but what these guys don't realise is you can be as smart as this character is and still be evil you don't have to be one or the other you can be both smart and evil and on top of that he doesn't have an end goal here he's just evil for the sake of being evil which is never a good thing.

Now then boys and girls since this is an action film that does mean that we have to talk about the action that's in the film itself. Which yeah I thought really entertaining that doesn't mean that it was good because yeah it's not but I was entertained by the action that I saw which for an action film is still a really good thing and it helps that during the opening action scene they do these really cool camera moves that you can only do in animation.

Overall this is a pretty decent film i'm not going to say that it's the best animated Superman film out there because it's not it. It is however very entertaining especially the scene where Lois straight up gives the bad guy the double middle finger which still makes me laugh to this very day , but at the same time the film is riddled with problems as such it doesn't even come close to earning it's 100% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes but it does however get 6.5 out of 10 from me this comic book fan.

Warrior Nun : Psalms 46:5 Review

Comic book fans there have been so many comic book shows and movies released in the past ten or so years so it was only a matter of time before Netflix got in on the action and they got in hard because they have two comic book adaptations coming out in the space of a week. I'll be the first to admit that I no nothing about the original source material that this show is based of and so i'm only judging this as an episode of a TV show and not as an adaptation and so here is my review of the Warrior Nun pilot episode "Psalms 46:5" enjoy.

The plot of the episode is a young girl called Ava wakes up in a morgue with a strange embedded in her back and that's really all the story I got out of the episode. Yeah for a pilot episode is very lacking in actual story instead just having random things happen for no reason which oddly makes the episode pretty boring to watch and the very thin story only serves to make that point even more in my humble opinion.

Starring in this episode and thus the rest of the series are Alba Baptista as Ava and Tristán Ulloa as Father Vincent. Also starring in both this episode and the show are Kristina Tonteri-Young as Sister Beatrice , Lorena Andrea as Sister Lilith , Toya Turner as Shotgun Mary , Thekla Reuten as Jillian Salvius , Sylvia De Fanti as Mother Superion , Emilio Sakraya as J.C. , Olivia Delcán as Sister Camila , Joaquim De Almeida as Cardinal Duretti , May Simón Lifschitz as Chanel , Dimitri Abold as Randall and Charlotte Vega as Zori.

Now i'll admit that not all of the actors listed appear in this episode but because I have a bad memory and because the official fandom page for the show as well as the Wikipedia page for the show are useless i'm listing every actor who's in the show. The acting for me rather understandably felt a little bland which I do understand why since this is the first episode of a TV show and so of course the acting isn't going to be that good and so here's hoping that it gets better as the show goes on.

This show is adapted from Warrior Nun Areala a 1994 comic book written by Ben Dunn and published by Antarctic Press. I have no idea what was adapted from the book and what wasn't since until a few weeks ago I hadn't heard of the book but I do find it interesting that a very unknown comic book is getting a TV adaptation from Netflix when it would have been much easier for them to go with something a little more well known.

Just based of this first episode I see nothing that makes this show perfect for Netflix you could have aired this on HBO and you would loose nothing. To me if your airing a show on Netflix then you better have something that pushes the boundaries otherwise what's the point and here there is none of that it looks just like a show you'd find on any network and the things that they show are the things that you'd find on any network.

Now there is something that I did like about the episode and that was it's use of what I assume to be practical effects. I say assume because they look really good and given how good TV CGI can be it could be CGI but if they do use practical effects in this episode then they look really good and it wasn't something that I was expecting to see as such I was pleasantly surprised when I good practical effect showed up very early in the episode.

This show does what alot of bad pilot episode do and that's not start up storylines for the rest of the show. Which I have to say is honestly putting me of watching the rest of the show because why should I watch something if there's no story to it I honestly have to reason to go and watch episode 2 because there's nothing plot wise that makes me want to watch the rest of the show which for a pilot episode is always a bad thing.

What I didn't like was the episode's pacing which yeah I really freaking bad honestly even tho this episode is fifty minuets long it feels so much longer then that and that's because scenes just drag on and on. As well as having scenes that go nowhere and add up to nothing I honestly don't see why this episode had to be fifty minuets long when there's only enough story for at least twenty two to thirty minuets.

Since this is an action show that does mean that we have to talk about the action that's in this very episode. I honestly didn't mind the action in this episode at all if anything it showed how much potential that the series had since the action is actually pretty fun and creative it's just a shame that the rest of the episode is a chore to get through since those fun action scenes are very few and far between with the rest of the episode being spent with the characters just doing random stuff.

Overall in terms of first episodes this is most likely one of the worst ones that i've seen in a long freaking time. For all of the reasons that i've listed and then some but with that being said there are times when this episode does show potential it's just a shame that you have to sit through long scenes where nothing happens as such this episode gets a 5 out of 10 from me and I was forced to use images from other episodes just because the fandom page for this show is pretty freaking bad.
