The Big Bang Theory is a show that never seems to stop producing spin off shows as first we had Young Sheldon which spawned it's own spin off show Georgie And Mandy's First Marriage. With there now being another show to add to that lust with the only difference being that this is both a sequel and also non canon show to the world of The Big Bang Theory and so then join me as I give you my SPOILLER FILLED first impressions of the show lets you know that the main character is going to fail with the show in question being called simply just "Stuart Fails To Save The Universe" enjoy.
The plot of this episode is comic book story owner Stuart and his friend Burt are tasked by an alternative version of Stuart to save the universe and fix a devise that Howard , Leonard and Sheldon made. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad. The plot of this episode is all about kind of setting up the plot for the show and to this end the episodes plot does indeed work but the episodes plot does do something that was kind of unexpected and in some ways both does and doesn't work for the episode. This is something that does work for the episode as it gives us the audience a mystery to solve by just throwing us in at the deep end with the plot and it's characters which granted is something that could be fun but it doesn't work for the episode in that no context is given in how we ended up in this state in the first place which is something that could have worked for the plot is some small ways with the episodes plot being about as strong as you'd expect from a science fiction comedy but it is hard to deny the fact that the plot for this opening episode could have been alot more better and while going the more simplistic approach with the plot is something that does make sense given the quite literally universal nature of the shows plot it would have made just as much sense if they went with a more complex opening plot as well with the plot of this episode also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.
Starring in this episode is Kevin Sussman as Stuart Bloom , Brian Posehn as Bert Kibbler and John Ross Bowie as Barry Kripke. Also starring in this episode is Another Happy Day star Lauren Lapkus as Denise , Penn Jillette as Penn , Teller as Teller , Ryan Cartwright as Kyle , Josh Brener as Trevor , Rich Ting as Soldier 1 , Tommy Walker as Gary , Anthony Alabi as Soldier 2 and Atticus Batacan as A Floss Vendor.
Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty really good. The fact that this episode does have some really good acting especially from the main lead actors is something that does make alot of sense as they are all reprising their roles from The Big Bang Theory and alot of them had been on that show from the very beginning and therefor they would know how best to perform there characters as they would have had years to perfect there performances as those characters. With the best actor in the episode being Kevin Sussman as Stuart Bloom which might be a cliche thing to say as he has been playing the character since season 1 of The Big Bang Theory but he is really good in this episode with making the character a little less annoying due to the fact that he is now the main character and not just a side character and yet at the same time he still does do little things that remind you that this is still the same loveable loser that we all fell in love with on The Big Bang Theory, heck he also manages to make Stuart seem more like his season 1 self where he is the kind of cool character only now its done with a hint of how the show would end up treating him yet it all still works for this show with Kevin making Stuart alot more likable in the process which is something hat really does shine though in this performance in this episode. With the acting that's in this episode really being helped by the fact that this episodes script is just so good that all this episodes actors have to do is just say the lines as they are written and a good performance will end up coming out of them naturally which is something that really does help to raise the overall quality of the acting that's in this very episode.
Sadly there is no listed company as to who did the CGI for this episode to be found really anywhere online. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual CGI that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty really good. The fact that this episode has CGI in it all is quite shocking in it's own right as sitcoms don't typically use CGI alot as they mostly just use to extend the episodes sets and thats really it and yet here due to that universe this particular episode takes place in there is alot of CGI to be found. While the episode doesn't rally use CGI all that much as it really only uses it to extend some of the sets , create some monsters and some rifts in the fabric of reality but that's really it with the making alot more use of practical effects with those effects blending in with the CGI effects really nicely and heck I watched this episode twice today and the one thing that stuck to me on the second viewing was the fact that you do see the lighting of the rift in the comic book store which isn't a big deal but it is something that does make that effect feel all more real as it would have been super easy for the makers of this show to not have the lighting of the rift show up on Burt's face as much as they do as we the audience would still know that it's there but the fact that they went that extra mile to have that lighting in there does show us that however did do the effects for this episode did have a good understanding of how to make effects blend in with the practical sets really well and it is something that does pay off in this episode.

The reason why this post is a spoiler filled one is the fact that we get very shocking cameo in this episode as we get to see Kunal Nayyar back as a disheveled Raj Koothrappali. With it being revealed in this episode that this universes version of him not only got married but also that his wife was killed off on there funny honeymoon by a giant moth which is something that is both befitting his character but also oddly tragic in it's own way as it does say that no matter what universe that we are in that Raj will always end up alone and yet here his fate is made all the more tragic when we see that the evil version of Barry kills him for helping to try and set the universe right in the first place and well to be frank Kunal steps right back into character almost as if he'd just finished playing the character a year or two ago. Yet with him being the first of the main character from the original show to show up in this way it does make you wonder who else might pop up as no other major characters have been announced to be guest starring in this show and yet given the fact that they kill of a possible version of Raj it does say that any of the main characters can now be killed of which means that the franchises favorite character Sheldon can die and yet it both wouldn't and would be canon to the show as this episode never really tells us if this is the main timeline from the original show or if the version that meets Stuart and Bert and tell them how to set things if he's the Stuart from the original show and this is something that does now mean that the show can have alt more fun with it's legacy characters, with it also meaning that technically characters from the other spin offs might be able to appear in this show and not have it effect the time line of the franchise as a whole.
The fact that it's never really revealed what or even who it is that broke the device that Leonard , Howard and Sheldon made in the first place does help to give this show some kind of mystery. Whilst it is kind of obvious as to who it might be as the alternative Stuart does tell himself that he was in the room with them when they first tested it is pretty obvious that he did it granted it might not have been on purpose but it is quite clearly him that did it which is something that could make sense as we do of course don't know how the rest of the show goes but it is something that would be interesting to see played out out in the rest of the show due to the fact that there is an unlimited amount of potential as to how good and funny that this mystery could be if it's handled right. As if it's not then it could be something that comes across as being predictable with the thing that's key to making it right being for the episodes to drop in little clues either by the characters are in actual scenes that hint at what destroyed the device as that is something that is a clear plot point it would make sense and while the synopsis for the show belatedly say that it's Stuart that broke the device n the first place this is something that does feel like a red herring as you wouldn't put something like that in the main plot for the show and then make a mystery over who did it in the first episode of the show, with an interesting thing about this episode in the fact that we do get to see more of the University where the guys worked in the main show granted we don't get to see any of the main sets from that show which does feel like a waste of that set the fact that we do get to see more of it does make it feel more real and lived as in the main show the only main set from the University was the cafeteria and yet here we get to see several rooms and corridors.
Whilst this sow is meant to be more of a comedy then anything else we do get to see a good dose of action in this episode with Raj , Burt and Stuart all taking part in an action scene to help rescue a captured Denise. This was actually fun to see as we got to see Burt out the fact that he teaches geology to good use by showing the others how to essentially turn rocks into hand grenades which does lead t a really fun action scene where the take out several of Emperor Kripke's men in fun and at times funny ways all the while a really good rock song is playing n the background with us even getting a good dose of explosions as they slowly but surely make there way to her and yet it never feels out of lace with the episodes comedy. ,As while that is going on we do see that this version of Denise can handle herself as she tricks Barry into letting her go with her beating the heck out him and heck this episode and this show even have a few things that the other shows didn't have that being blood and swearing as due to the those shows airing on CBS and this show airing on HBO Max this show is able to get away with alot of more therefor we do have scenes where Stuart gets covered in blood from all of the guards and we get scenes with the characters sweating both of which do feel like small things but due to the fact that this episode takes place in a world that is overrun with zombies and giant moths it does oddly make sense for the characters to start swearing and t be fair to the episode they don't do it all that often rather they just do it at the start of the episode which makes sense as tat is where it would be all the more impactful for this episode rather then having them swear every few scenes like they do in most HBO shows, with even the blood being used in more impactful ways as they only show the blood when they have to and they never do it because they want to which is something that the makers of this episode very easily could have done if they really wanted to.
Now then this episode has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly twenty five minuets and six seconds. Which is something that does feel right for this episode to have as this episode even tho it doesn't have to set up the characters it still does gave to set up the plot and to a lesser extent the world that this episode takes place in with the fact that this show is going to have shorter and not longer running times does show us that the makers of this show do care more about having the plot fit the running time and not pad the episode with unneeded scenes something which it could be argued is done here with the Penn & Teller cameo but given that there scene is a throwaway scene that happens near the start of the episode it's not that bad with the episode having more then enough there interms of plot to really cover that amount of running time in the first place. Yet even so this episode really doesn't use its running time all that wisely as the episode doesn't fully take the time to fully develop it's plot which is something that is fair enough as you could argue that the the rest of the show will do that but just interms of the episodes plot it is a pretty weak plot that could have used some kind of plot development with the makers of the episode being more focused on telling us why Denise and Stuart are now no longer a thing then they are in giving us a well thought out and developed plot. The same thing could also be said for the episodes character development as due to all of these characters starting out lives on another show it could be argued that they don't need character development on this show as they would have gotten it on The Big Bang Theory but it still would have been nice to give some of characters some kind of development with the only one that really gets characters development being Burt as he find out that there prison was his old geology classroom and that's it with the makers of the episode being more focused on giving us cameos that it is in giving us some character development but I really will admit that this episode really does have some really good pacing to it tho.
So now the as this is a comedy that really does mean that I gave to actually talk about the actual comedy thats actually featured / presented to us in this vey episode well then in all honest I in all honesty personally tought / felt that the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty really good. With the episode doing a good enough job of mixing action with comedy so much so that you could call this show and action comedy and it wouldn't feel out of place with the episode knowing full well to firmly remain a comedy as it does intercut the action to have a comedic moment and yet none of those moment undercut the tension of the scene as the rest of the episode is so much fun in the first place that we do end up laughing with the character regardless of if there's been a joke told or not. With the best joke in the whole entire episode being the during the sequence where Raj , Burt and Stuart are trying to recue Denise as the episode cuts to her beating up Emperor Barry having tricked him into her letting her go with her banging his head on the table just yelling that's he 's a stupid man over and over again which is just pure gold with it being something that does work for her character as we do know thanks to The Big Bang Theory that she can get over the top at times with this feeling very much like the next step up from that with the joke itself being one that does catch you off guard as your not really expect there to be a joke there and yet when the episode tells it it does make you laugh with the rest of the episodes jokes being just as good as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall if you haven't done yet please do go and check out episode on of this show as it is so good and all right fair enough it's not as good as Young Sheldon is but it is still a really good start to this admittedly weird show that is quite frankly working due to how weird it is in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of te good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very episode in this very post and as this is only my first impressions of the show there is not going to be ranking however if i'm still watching the show when the final episode airs then I will do a review of the show as a whole.
