My Top 5 Best And Top 5 Worst Films Of The 2023

It's that time of year again as we have a yearly tradition where I tell you what my top 5 best films of the year are and what my top 5 worst films of the year are. This year it was a tougher call then usual to decide what films get what slot on what list as while the number one film for the worst films of the year list was pretty much locked down since February of this year all of the other films were in constant flux with it being even harder to find films to go on the worst films of the year list as alot of the films that were released this year nine times out of then just weren't that good and as per usual the usual rules do apply here in that each film has to have been released in the year 2023 and I have to see them so then enjoy.

Worst

5) Wish

Disney have pretty much exclusively released bad movies this year barring Guardians Of The Galaxy Volume 3. However this film really does take the cake as this was the film that made to celebrate the companies one hundredth year of operations and on top of that this was an animated film which is Disney's bread and butter which means that on paper this film should have very easily have knocked it out of the park and yet it just doesn't due to a very underwhelming villain whose turn to being a villain comes out of nowhere , a hero who is pretty badly written , forgettable songs and ugly looking animation this is a film that Walt Disney himself would have been most likely have been very ashamed of as it's a film that goes against his own personal ethos of creating films that are for the whole family something which modern day Disney has seemingly forgotten about.

This film does have some good points to it tho hence why it's so low down on this list like the fact that the films plot isn't that bad. With the film also boasting an all star voice cast that while alot of them are miscast in their respective roles are at the very least trying to make this films script work for them do turn in some rather solid performances with the true standout being Alan Tudyk as the goat Valentino who despite being fairly annoying at times does also manage to get in some fairly solid laughs and while the films songs are on the weaker side of things there's no denying the fact that the visuals the accompany them are well and truly stunning and there's also no denying the fact that the general idea behind the film is a really good idea but all it needed to make it a great idea was a really good script to back up which is very sadly what this films well and truly lacking in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

4) Zoey 102

The film reboot that nobody wanted from a TV show that alot of us would rather forget was even a thing. There's so much wrong with this film it's hard to find a place to start for starters alot of the original series cast is missing from the original show is missing granted some of them would have other commitments but some of them mainly Alexa Nikolas who bullied on the original show by not only the ADULT producers but also by series star and this films producer and main star Jamie Lynn Spears wasn't even asked to come back for this sequel and as a result of this this film really does feel like that it's just Jamie Lynn Spears getting her gang back together without bothering to find out if this is something that should have been done and when you add in the fact that the films plot isn't the best plot around as it just feels like the plot of American Wedding only with the Zoey 101 cast with this film also failing to recapture the magic of the original series but given what went on behind the scenes of that show that might be for the best.

As with Wish there is a reason why this film is so low down on this list and that's mainly due to the fact that the film does have some semi decent jokes in there and while the film does fail to recapture the magic and spirit of the original show it was interesting seeing where these characters are now. Tog vie the film some more credit alot of the cast are quite clearly trying their best to make the best of the films bad script but the films bad direction really doesn't help things out either as it comes across as if the films director Nancy Hower either can't get her head around the script or at best doesn't know how to direct her actors and as a result of that the cast just feel lost as they have no idea what kind of performance to give and while the film does get credit for having one or two funny moments in the film having one or two good jokes in a see of bad jokes just goes to show you that this film really isn't that good of a comedy.

                                                  3) All Of The DCEU Except For Blue Beetle

With all of the really comic book movies that were released in this past year alone it would have been super easy just to fill up with this part of the post with nothing more then comic book movies however in order to give alot more films those slots all of the comic books films barring Blue Beetle that were released as part of the DCEU have been included into this one post. As both The Flash and Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom were just bad films that aren't really that much fun to watch with both of them having a really dodgy plotline and both of them not really giving their respective main characters a satisfying ending with both films not really helping the fact that they both have very controversial stars in both Ezra Miller and Amber Heard in main roles and with Warner Bros Pictures cancelling films left and right this year it's a wonder why these two films weren't canned as they both would have saved Warner Bros Pictures quite alot of money.

Even right now it's hard to find anything that's good about both films as there were both just that bad of a film. With the only thing that comes to mind is that both films had some decent action and a few decent jokes in them but that's really it and that is also apart of the problem as both films are just forgettable films with both The Flash and Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania having what can only be best described as laughably bad CGI it's a wonder why both The Flash and Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom even got released as they both went through several rounds of re-shoots while it's not uncommon for a comic book film to undergo one or two rounds of re-shoots both films were went through at the very least anywhere between four to seven rounds of re-shoots which right there should have been a huge red flag for anyone who really is a fan of either of these truly iconic comic book characters.

2)All Of The MCU Films Barring One

Just like with the previous entry in this post the MCU released a lot of bad films this year with the overall majority of them being bad. With both The Marvels and Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania being a very good example of how not to make a comic book film as they lack anything that you'd both expect and want from a good comic book movie with both films having very laughable CGI effects heck Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania became infamous for it's bad looking CGI and both films having really bad plots with the plots of both films being at best wafer thin and at worst just down right not there and while The Marvels does get a lot of credit for being better then Captain Marvel it's still a really bad film with Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania being the worst film in a trilogy that's filled to the brim with some very mediocre comic book films.

Again just like with both The Flash and Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom outside of some decent action scenes , a few decent jokes and in the case of The Marvels a few decent acting performances. There's nothing all that redeemable about either film as Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania turned what should have been a really cool villain and a really easy villain to make look cool in MODOK and instead turned him into a laughing stock while Cassie gets turned from being this sweet and innocent likable character into someone who wasn't all that likable as she berates her superhero father who saved the universe for not doing enough and that's the vast majority of the dialog from her in that movie with The Marvels suffering from a different problem and that being the fact that the mainstream audiences didn't know who two thirds of the main characters were as they most likely wouldn't have watched either Wandavision or Mrs. Marvel and the main stream audience didn't like the first Captain Marvel film and so they really didn't like the Captain Marvel character either.

1) Winnie The Pooh Blood And Honey

This film was always going to top this half of the post as I think it'll top or be near the top of alot of other people's worst films list as well. However while this film is indeed the worst film to have come out in 2023 it's one of those films where you have to see it in order to full believe that it exists and is a thing as after all a horror themed Winnie The Pooh movie does sound like something that someone would make up just for a laugh between friends and yet here are and while the film doesn't really take full advantage of it's characters nor it's setting it doesn't stop it from being a movie that's so bad that it's almost good again nor does it really stop it from being a fun movie as while yes there is no question that this film is a really bad film but that doesn't mean that it's not a fun film as there's something just oddly fun about seeing Winnie The Pooh and Piglet going around and killing random people for really no reason whatsoever.

What does go along way to making this film as bad as it is isn't the fact that they literally just used a pre-made Winnie The Pooh mask for the killer. It's the fact that the movie just ends with there being no real resolution to the films plot which is a great way to set up the films sequel but it's not something that helps this film as that is something that should have been the main focus and not on trying to possibly set up a sequel and while the film does get some credit for getting internet backing due to how strange and weird and bizarre the entire set up of the film is which did result in the filmmakers getting a much more bigger budget they sadly didn't use any of that now infamy in fixing issues with the films script and the films characters both of which are things that should have been fixed since the makers of the film had the extra time to see what needed to be fixed but then actively chose not to fix any of those issues which is something that they really should have done.

Best

5) M3GAN

It's not really possible to give his film enough credit as this is the film that on paper should have failed and yet somehow managed to become a hit film. As this film was cut down from an R rating to the much safer PG-13 which would normally be the kiss of death for any self restive horror film and yet for this film it's something that oddly works to it's advantage as it allows the film to be more fun and to have those moments of pure campyness something which might not have been possible if the film had been able to retain it's original rating and it's also due to a certain dance that the film was oddly able to find an audience on TikTok of all places which no doubt helped out with the films box office results and weather or not that kind if fame carries on towards the sequel which we are getting is something that really does remain to be seen.

The best way to describe this film is it's basically Child's Play for this younger generation but not in a way that makes the film look bad. Rather in a way that makes the film look good as the film does gave the slow build that the first Child's Play film had just like it tries to build up suspense by having us the audience wonder if it's the kid that's actually killing of all of these people or if it's M3GAN herself doing and while the first Child's Play film did pull of the suspense thing a little bit more better then M3GAN does they both have equally good slow builds which lead to a suitably over the top the final act with both films also having some really good and solid performances all throughout and both films having a memorable killer doll type of character with this films killer doll character hopefully carrying on for decades more to come.

4) Scream VI

After the massive success of Scream 2022 this sequel was very quickly rushed into development much like Scream 2 was back in 1997. However unlike Scream 2 this film wasn't able to succor the serviuces of franchise star Neve Campbell which does make this film standout as it's the only film in the series so far not to feature the franchsies main character of Sidney Prescott and it's also for now the last film to feature both Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega as Melissa was fired from  Scream 7 and Jenna couldn't make the flm due to the filming of the second season of Wednesday which is a shame as both of these wonderful actress will be missed in the upcoming sequel as and when that sequel does get released but interms of final films this one isn't a bad one for them to bow out on as it takes Ghostface to a place that he's never really been before now New York City.

With this change in location really giving us the opportunity to have some really freaky and scary scenes and that's exactly what we get. With this film being filled to the brim with alot of really creepy scenes that just wouldn't have been possible if the film had stayed in Woodsboro with this change in location also giving us the chance to see the characters try to move on from Woodsboro as well and also giving us something that we really haven't seen in a Scream opening kill before and that's the unmasking of a Ghostface which was something that was well and truly shocking and even more so when that Ghostface is then killed of by the films actual Ghostface as that now means that they could be more then one main group of Ghostfaces in any film and at any one time as well which means that our heroes have to always be on the look out as a Ghostface could be coming to get them at any moment and they just won't even know it.

3) Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3

This one film is by far the best Marvel Cinematic Universe to have come out in the past year and it's not because of who's making it either. It's because of the fact that everything about the film is alot better then both The Marvels and Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania combined as this film has actually good writing and characters that you actually like and want to see succeed and it gives an ending that is both utterly heartbreaking and completely satisfying as well something which both The Marvels and Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania failed to it with this film also taking the time to develop Rocket something which the previous two films hadn't really done and yet by doing so they also managed t make cry over a raccoon as that's just how good the writing in this film is yes this film isn't as good as the first two films were but it didn't need to be all it had to was give us a solid conclusion for these characters and it gave us that and so much more in the process.

To pretend that this film is the worst Marvel movie to come out this year is just ridiculous but to pretend that it's there best film to come out there is equally bad. As this film isn't there best film to come out this year but it's there best Marvel Cinematic Universe to come out this year despite alot of the faults that this film does have like for example spiting up the team for the vast majority of the film is a major mistake as half of the fun of these films is seeing these characters together and seeing just how they bounce of off each other so wonderfully as is getting Gamora back with the team really quickly as it would have made the film alot more interesting to have her not be with the team for the vast majority if the film and then that way you can have Peter learn to come to terms with the fact that this new Gamora might not like him and have him get to terms over the loss of Gamora herself and the film really could have brought back the whole Mantis is actually Peter's sister plot reveal from the The Guardians Of The Galaxy Holiday Special as well as that is something that could have made for an interesting plot to follow.

2) Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse

On paper both this film and the next film shouldn't have been as big of a film that they both were and yet both films managed to blow people with just how good that they both were. With this film having some truly fantastic animation , acting and plot all of which combined beautifully to to match with what the first film did so well and while it's bit of a cliche to say that the first film is so good it's truly worth saying as that this film was so good and yet this film managed to match what they did that first film effortlessly and while this film does fall into alot of the pitfalls that alot of first parts of a two part film falls into with this film basically one long trailer for the second film that doesn't stop this film from being the best Marvel film released this year with this film also having alot of really fun and funny moments in it as well.

Thus does now also mean that the third film is pretty much set up to fail as nothing less then perfect will do for this third film. That doesn't mean that it's not doable as the first film was seen by many as the perfect Spider-Man film and yet then comes along this film that matches this film in every way possible whilst also moving the plot of the films forward and also moving the characters and there respective characters arcs forward as well with this film also having some really solid action scenes in it all of which take full advantage of the fact that it's not only a comic book film but it's an animated comic book film as well which means that the film does get really creative with it's visuals during those action sequences something which would never have been if this film was made in live action as alot of modern day comic book films are afraid to be just that a comic book film as there all trying to be super serious piece of art when sometimes all you need to be is a super fun filled film with some super fun filled action sequence in it.

1) Godzilla Minus One

The number choice for the best film of the year was a tough choice as it was between this film and Across The Spider-Verse. With this film only just beating out Across The Spider-Verse as it's the second best Japanese Godzilla film ever made behind the 1954 original Gojira with this film actually doing what none of the other Japanese Godzilla films have done before it and that's make alot of money at the American box office with all of this due to the fact that it's just that damned good of a film with it being filled to the brim with good writing and good acting both of which are now sadly a rare thing to see in alot of big budgeted American blockbusters and yet this one film that cost half of that the typical MCU film costs to make has both of those things and then some and because of that people actually went several times to the cinema to go and see it.

This just proves that if you give people good writing and good acting then they will go and see your film. With this film also doing the unthinkable and that's actually making you care about the human characters whilst not taking any screen time away from Godzilla himself something which the 2014 American live action Godzilla film failed to do and because of this approach to this film it means that when Godzilla does start destroying things not only is it all really glorious to see it means that we also care about the human characters ad want to see them get out of those kinds of situations alive with this being helped by the fact that not only is the films action fantastic to see but so is the films CGI with the CGI in this film being the best CGI that's been in any Godzilla film both American or Japanese for that matter in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Now then a for where I personally got all f the images that I personally use in this very post well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all f the images that I personally used in this very post from the official Zoey 101 fandom wiki page , the official DC Extended Universe fandom wiki page , the official Disney fandom wiki page , the official M3GAN fandom wiki page , the official Scream fandom wiki page , the official Marvel Database fandom wiki page , Wikizilla , IMP Awards . Com and Google Images. With my personally preferred website to use to get the images for this very post being IMP Awards . Com simply just due to the fact that really alot of the images that are on IMP Awards . Com are all really fairly high in quality and as well as being fairly freaking high in definition.

Snow White With The Red Hair TV Series "Encounter... Changing The Color Of Fate" Review

With their being a ton of anime produced every single anime season it's understandable that people would forget about one or two of them. With the show that i'm about to review for you all today being one of the shows that alot of people seem to have forgotten about as it's a show that isn't really talked about all that much anymore at least not as much as it was when this show first airing in 2015 and so then join me as I review the episode of the show that is a better version of Snow White then the upcoming live action Disney remake with the episode in question being called simply just "Encounter... Changing The Color Of Fate" enjoy.

The plot of this episode is when a young herbalist is ordered by a snooty and arrogant prince to be his mistress she runs away from her home country and quickly befriends a group of people who might change her life for the better. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad as the plot of the show was rather fun and silly which is something that's to be expected from the first episode of an anime like this one with the plot itself being almost really like a fairy tale in nature as well as being really rather entertaining and was also really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this episode is Fairy Tail star Brina Palencia as Shirayuki and anime voice acting legend Todd Haberkorn as Raji Shenazard. Also starring in this episode is Dragon Ball Z star Robert McCollum as Sakaki , Attack On Titan star Josh Grelle as Zen Wisteria Clarines , Ian Sinclair as Mitsuhide Roen , Fairy Tail star Jamie Marchi as Kiki Seiran , Cole Brown as Yoshi and Wendy Powell as Kino.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad with the episodes cast doing their best to turn in a really good performance. It's a just a shame that the script for this episode just isn't that as that good as it doesn't really give the cast a whole lot to work with interms of what their respective characters personalities are even meant and as a result of that the acting in this episodes does suffer as the cast can't give the type of performance that we know that they can give as the episodes just really won't allow them to do so as it is just that bad of a script that really does let the actors down really quite a bit as the script is just that generic with there not really being anything new added to the script that would be able to help the actors in any given way shape or form in the slightest.

Doing the animation for this episode and the series as a whole is the legends and the greats that are currently over at BONES. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty really good with the episodes animation being alot better then what it really had any right to be as this kind of show really doesn't require great or even passable animation and yet this episode has some really stunning in it which really shouldn't be all that surprise as alot of Japanese anime has alot of really good animation in them with this show not really being all that different with the backgrounds in this episode being really stunning to look at and the characters having some really nice and fluid looking movements to them.

As a romance this episode does a fairly solid job of setting up the main romance of the show with both characters being rather perfect for each other. However what lets the romance is the fact that both characters really don't know each other before deciding that there meant for each other and while yes there is a case for love at first sight that's not something that always works all the well in works of fiction with this being one of those examples as both characters barely talk about their feelings towards each other with both characters just rushing through any conversation that they have as the episode has to move along to the next plot point when it should have been just as focused if not more focused on setting up this romance properly as it's this romance that will ultimately carry the show on moving forward where the plot of the episode won't really be remembered at all past this very first episode of the show.

One of the things that I really didn't like about this episode is the fact that this episode doesn't really take full advantage of it's fantasy setting. As there's nothing in this episode that just screams fantasy with the episode just looking like that it could take place in medevil times and not some far of fantasy world with the episode not really doing all that much to make this episodes setting look like a fantasy and while that might be the point as it's essentially a fairy tale told in anime form the makers of the show still should have some effort to make the setting of this show look like an actual fantasy setting and not look like something that would be right at home in a low rent Disney film which is ultimately what we end up with this very episode and it's something that really does let the episode as all it does is remind you of the lost potential of this show's setting instead of giving us a new setting that looks different and unique we instead get a setting that looks like every other fantasy setting out there with really nothing new added to it in the slightest at all.

This episode does somewhat include a love triangle except it's not something that really works all that well. As the other person in this love triangle isn't really given any ice qualities about him with him only having a crush on Shirayuki and nothing more then that which is a shame because a love triangle is something that could have set this show apart from all of the other romance shows out there and it would have given Shirayuki a chance to see that there's more to this other character then what she's been told but yet as the makers of the show didn't go that route what we're left is a character that just like all of the other characters in this episode feel rather undercooked which means that anything cool that the show could have done with it's characters in this episode would just feel out of place as the episode doesn't really take the time to fully develop it's main characters which is understandable as this is only the first episode but if you start the characters of on rocky ground then it doesn't really matter what you do with them next because the foundations will always be rocky at best.

Now then this episode has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly twenty four minuets and thirteen seconds. Which is pretty much the bogstanderd running time for any TV anime to have and to this episodes credit not only does it make the most that it can do with that running time but it does also have more then enough there interms of plot to cover that large of running time with the only real issue being that this episode is far to short as you very easily could have had this debut episode be around forty five minuets which in turn would allow for the story to be more fully developed and it would also allow for the episodes to start to be more fully developed but yet as it is the story comes of good but the characters come of a being rather undercooked but I will admit that this very really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is comedy that means that I have to actually talk about the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad. With this episode some rather cute and funny moments in it the only real issue being tho is that episode puts more focus on the romance side of things when as it's a romantic comedy the focus should be fifty fifty and not leaning harder on either one and as such this episode does feel alot more like the first episode to a straight up romance show then it does the first episode of a romantic comedy but what comedy we do get in this episode was both cute and really funny to see in this episode in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this wasn't a bad first episode as it does show alot potential the issue being tho is that the episode doesn't take steps to reach potential and be as good as it really could be in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very episode in this very review and as such that means that this very episode really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 6 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from the official Akagami No Shirayukihime fandom wiki page and Google Images. With my personally preferred website to use to get the images from this very episode that I used in this very review being the official Akagami No Shirayukihime fandom wiki page simply just due to the fact that really alot of the images that are on the official Akagami No Shirayukihime fandom wiki page are all really fairly high in quality and as well as being fairly freaking high in definition.

AEW Dynamite December 27th 2023 Review

The wrestling world is one that's long been controlled by the WWE well almost five years ago a new upstart company started airing a weekly TV series. With that series and that company very quickly becoming the number two wrestling promotion for a lot of people and well as they've just aired there final episode of the year it was only about right that I take a look at one of the episodes to see if the show is still good and so then join me as I review an episode of the show is dubbed New Years Smash with the episode in question being and episode of "AEW Dynamite" enjoy.

There really wasn't much of a plot on this episode with the main focus being who would be competing in the Continental Classic finals. Now then interms f what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual lot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad as there really wasn't much in the way of plot of this episode which was to be expected as not alot of wrestling shows have alot of plot running through them but at them same time this show could have done with bit more plot driven scenes just to give more of the AEW roster something to do but what little plot we do get was really entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

The set for this show was really good with being one giant LED screen for a background and about three smaller screens at the top and bottom. Which does give the set for this show a rather unique look at the same time it does leave the set for this show with alot of dead space with there being nothing at either side of the set which really isn't a bad thing as this is something that they have to take down and rebuild every single so and as such expecting a highly elaborate set each and every week just wouldn't be feasible as it would be something that would cost AEW quite alot of money each and every week but at the same time it wouldn't hurt if they had some theme running through the set as it would only add to the show and add to the shows production value something which the current set for this show really doesn't do.

LED screens are a good way to add production value and add to the atmosphere of the show which is something that this shown really doesn't do at all. As this episode could have done with the LED screens being used in a way that enhanced whatever the bookers for the show wanted us to feel instead of just going on gut instinct with this being really being an issue in the Bryan Danielson Vs Eddie Kingston match as that match is meant to be nothing more then a brawl and yet the LED screens make it look like it's just a normal match when that really isn't the case as it's the semi-final in a tournament something which really isn't effected in the LED screens and while they don't really need to use them all that much they are there to make the show better which means that they should have been used to make the atmosphere in that match all the more better then it already is.

As is to be expected as this show is the final show before a PPV this episode is filled to the brim with some last minuet build. Which is to be expected as they do have a show to promote but at the same time it's something that could have been done in a better way as how it's done here just makes it feel like that there stopping the show in order to promote the next show which only makes the show feel like a chore to sit through and it makes the PPV's storylines feel more important then getting through an episode of the show when both of them should have been as equally important as without the show you'd have no PPV to promote in the first place but on the flip side of the is the fact that you have to expect a lot of last build for PPV's the issue is tho is that that usually means that the PPV in question is most likely a terrible show that's treated as an after thought.

We got some returns during this show the most notable of which being Sammy Guevara who returned after becoming a new father. His return was in all honesty really well done as it's something that wasn't built up it was just something that happened on the night with it also being something that tied into his past relationship with Christ Jericho which was a really sweet thing to see as the two of them have been close friends since Dynamite started and as such having them appear in this segment really does make a lot of sense as he would of course want to back up his friend when he needed him the most and while the segment does go on a bit to long which will have a knock on effect for making the main event really short there's no denying that the segment archived it's goal of welcoming Sammy Guevara back in a way that makes sense.

One of the things that I loathed about this episode is the fact that it has quite alot of segments that go on for a quite long time. With both the Sammy Guevara , Christ Jericho and The Challis Family segment running long as does the match with Skye Blue and Kris Statlander which has a segment after the match which does go on for a while when paired with the match both of which really don't need to go as long as they do as both segments could have archived their goals in a shorter amount of time and with the time saved from both segments they could have added to the main event in order to make that match the best that it could have been but yet for some reason they decided to give both of these segments that don't add anything to the actual episode itself a longer then needed running time instead of giving it to a segment that's dealing with the biggest AEW storyline thus far.

The devil storyline was really well handled in this episode and was in all honesty a true highlight of the episode. As it now adds a wrinkle to the main event of World's End as well as raising the stakes for that match as well but at the same time if the main event of this show had a longer running time then it could have made the big reveal at the end all of the more impactful and it would have built up MJF as someone who is a credible threat to this Devil character and yet by having this segment run at just under two minuets has the opposite effect as while we already know that MJF is a threat to any member of the AEW roster what we don't know is if he can take this Devil character and that's something could have been set up better if the main even of this show had some much more time dedicated to it instead of being really just under two minuets in length.

Now then this episode has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour and fifty three minuets and forty eights seconds. Which was a fairly solid running time for this episode to have as the matches that this show does have do run for a good amount of time for the most part but given that this show has so much to fit and so little time in which to it it would have been to this episodes benefit if the episode ran a little bit longer just so that the episode could have been as good as could have been and yet because of this running time it does mean that segments that should have been longer as now the episode has extend segments that add nothing to this episode but will add something to the upcoming PPV with this not really being helped by the fact that this episode has two matches in a row that run for well over twenty minuets each but I will admit this episode really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So ow then as this is a wrestling show that means that I gave to actually talk about the actual wrestling that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual wrestling that's actually featured / presented to us  in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad. With all four matches in this episode being really good for the most part as the main event really isn't allowed to be as good as it really should have been given who is taking part in it but all of the three previous matches were all really really good with the best match in the episode easily being the three way match between Jon Moxley , Swerve Strickland and Jay White as that match was not really fun to see but was also really entertaining to watch as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this wasn't a bad episode of the show and was a solid episode to end 2023 on for AEW Dynamite but at the same time it's an episode that could have been so much better as well tho in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very episode in this very review and as such that means that this very episode earns it self a grand old score of exactly a 6.5 out of 10 from me.

Now the as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from the official Pro Wrestling fandom wiki page and Google Images. With my personally preferred website to use to get the images from these very special that I used in this very review being the official Pro Wrestling fandom wiki page simply just due to the fact that alot of the images that are on the official Pro Wrestling fandom wiki page are all really fairly high in quality and as well as being fairly freaking high in definition.

Doctor Who: The Underwater Menace Review

For a long time we had no idea if these Doctor Who animations would continue in anyway shape or form. As such it came as a complete surprise when the BBC dropped the teaser trailer announcing that we would be getting new missing storyline fully animated and well as we really have quite a bit of a tradition of reviewing these new animations as when it's possible to do so you all just know that I had to review this classic episode the very first chance that I got and so then join me as I review the episode that really is the most OK Patrick Troughton Doctor Who story released thus far with the episode in question being called simply just "The Underwater Menace" enjoy.

The plot of this episode is The Doctor , Jamie , Polly and Ben find themselves in Atlantis and have to stop a mad scientist who wants to raise Atlantis in a way that could mean the end of all life on earth itself. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty just OK which is a shame as the episode had alot of potential to be really one of the greatest Doctor Who plots out there and yet really every aspect of the episodes plot just really feels either rather undercooked or just really underwhelming at best with the plot of the episode being not that really entertaining and not that really engaging either in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this episode is Patrick Troughton as The Doctor , Anneke Wills as Polly and Michael Craze as Ben Jackson. Also starring in this episode is Frazer Hines as Jamie McCrimmon , Joseph Furst as Zaroff , Colin Jeavons as Damon , Noel Johnson as King Thous , Tom Watson as Ramo , Peter Stephens as Lolem , Gerald Taylor as Damon's Assistant , Catherine Howe as Ara , P.G. Stephens as Sean , Paul Anil as Jacko , Roma Woodnutt as Nola , Graham Ashley as The Overseer and Tony Handy as Zaroff's Guard.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was on all honesty not that that bad. With alot of the episodes cast doing the best that they can do with the material that's been given to them the issue is tho is that the episodes script given the cast nothing to work interms of what their respective characters personalities are even meant to be and as such the cast can't really turn in a good performance as the episodes really just won't allow the cast to do so as the episodes script is just that bad.

Try is I might I cannot find out which animation company did the animation for this episode anywhere online. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us un this very episode was in all honesty not that bad. However that's also the issue as the animation in this episode isn't that good either as there episodes that have better animation with the animation in this episode really feeling very cheap which of course isn't the fault of the animation team as the BBC don't give the animations teams alot of time and alot of money to make these animations look that good and while this animation really does have some nice looking visuals the animation itself really isn't as good as it perhaps could or maybe really even should have been.

Sadly as with alot of the early Doctor Who episodes there are some episodes missing from this story with this episodes missing episodes one and for. With this episode being one of the very few Patrick Troughton stories to have quite alot of it's story still existing with this being a case where making the whole thing animated does make alot of sense as it would have been jarring going from photograph reconstruction to fully animated episodes and back again and while it would be nice if the remaining two episodes were found as it it's always nice to have fully completed Doctor Who episodes there sadly due to the fact that this episode isn't that much of a fan favorite that's not something that I can see happening anytime soon which is a shame but it's also rather understandable as there are alot of episodes that are sadly still missing.

This episode is full to the brim with wasted potential as the episodes writer Geoffrey Orme being deemed a safe bet for a good writer by the production team. However with this script he just doesn't turn in a good story as the story lacked any stakes with there being no reason whatsoever for The Doctor and his companions to remain in Atlantis as they could left at any time during the stories first episode this is made even worse when you take into account that this was his only script for the show which means that he had no chance to take what huge learned from this script and apply it to the next script and then there the episodes director Julia Smith who is directing her last episode for the show and who here just feels lost like she doesn't understand the material and isn't really trying to turn in a good episode.

Rather shockingly there are quite a few dark moments in this episodes with there being an implied stabbing which results in us seeing blood. On top of that we also see a character getting shot in the chest which again results in us seeing blood all of which are thinks that were rather unexpected as they were things you don't usually expect to see in Doctor Who in general let alone classic Doctor Who and so it came as a complete shock to see them here in this episode and while it was shocking to see them in this episode it also felt out of place this stories main villain really doesn't seem like the type of character that would stab or shoot anyone as he instead feels like the the of character who would hire people to do those things for him as he's a showman with a bit of an ego which means that he really wouldn't let anyone stop him from completing his work and if that really means letting other people stab and shoot his enemies for him then so be it.

Now then while I cannot for the absolutely life of me remember whatever this episodes grand total running time even was I do know for a fact that this episode has / had an exact grand total running time of roughly one hour and thirty seven minuets. Which isn't a bad running time for this episode to have but at the same time tho the story does start to drag quite a bit during episode two with alot of episode two not really being that important to the actual plot of the episode as a whole which is a shame as the story did have the potential to be a really good Doctor Who with this not really helped by the fact that the episode doesn't really have alot of plot to cover that large of running time which means that this episode really should have been around two episodes long but on the flip side of that if this episode was longer it would allow for things to move at a more natural pace and it would allow for the story and characters to be more fully developed but I will admit that for the most the episode does have some fairly good pacing to it.

So  ow then as this is an action show that means that I have to actually talk about the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in his very episode was in all honesty not that bad. As the episodes only fight scene was really done considering that classic Doctor Who very rarely if ever did fight scenes and yet for the time that they had to put together a small fight scene what we did get worked really well for the episode and was a really solid small and short fight scene in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall while it is great to see that these Doctor Who animations are continuing this one really wasn't that strong of an episode which is a shame because what little good things in this episode really do make the episode worth watching in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very episode in this very review and as such that means that this very episode earns itself a grand old score of exactly a 5.5 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from the official Doctor Who fandom wiki page , Amazon . Co . Uk and Google Images. With my personally preferred website to use to get the images from these very episode that I used in this very review being Google Images simply just due to the fact that alot of the images that are on Google Images are all really fairly high in quality and as well as them all being really fairly freaking high in definition.

Worzel Gummidge "Aunt Sally's Affair" Review

It's not unusual for alot of TV shows to have pilot episodes infact alot of shows do have them however what is most unusual is for that pilot to be based of a pre-existing property be it a book or a TV show. Well in this case it's both as after conquering the world of live action television everybody's favorite walking and talking scarecrow Worzel Gummidge almost had an animated series which was to feature both Jon Pertwee as Worzel Gummidge and Una Stubbs as Aunt Sally however the pilot never led to series due to the death of it's main star and after years of being lost the pilot episode of this show was found a few years ago and has now just been made available as a bonus feature on a Worzel Gummidge so then join me as I review the episode that is technically one om the last times that Jon Pertwee played the role of Worzel Gummidge with the episode in question being called simply just "Aunt Sally's Affair" enjoy.

The plot of this episode is Worzel gets jealous when he finds out that his beloved Aunt Sally is engaged to a store front dummy and sets out to make sure that she marries him. Now then interms of what I personally thought/ felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad as while this episodes isn't as good as some of the shows best episodes there is quite clearly alot of thought and effort put into it with the episodes plot being just as simple and delightfully silly and simple as you'd expect from a episode of Worzel Gummidge with the plot of the episode also being really rather entertaining and really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this episode is Jon Pertwee as Worzel Gummidge and Shop Owner and Una Stubbs as Aunt Sally and A Waitress. It's understandable that they didn't bring in alot more actors from the original series in this episode because they wanted to save money but at the same time there's only so long that you can have a scene with just Jon and Una in it before you start to notice that it's just them doing the voices for alot of the episodes cast of characters and while the two of them do still have some really great chemistry together even all of those years after Worzel Gummidge Down Under had ended it would have made more sense to have more characters be featured as to give potential buyers a better example of just how the show would work with more speaking characters in it instead of just giving us something that we know already works thanks to both the original series and thanks to Worzel Gummidge Down Under.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad. With both Jon and Una really killing it and giving us some good performances which is really nothing new as they always gave us some really good performances in alot of the episodes of the show however what lets the acting down quite alot is the episodes script which is just very bland and boring and predictable with it lacking any of the heart and humor that writers Keith Waterhouse and Willis Hall had in all of their scripts for the original series with the script also not really giving the actors really all that much to work with interms of what it is that their respective characters personality is even meant to be.

Try as I might I cannot find out who did the animation for this episode anywhere online as no animation company is listed either in the episodes end and opening credits nor in the various articles about the episode being rediscovered. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in al honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty alot better then what it really had any right to be. As nobody would have blamed them for not having that good animation in this episode as this is episode is just a pilot episode and yet the animation in this episode was really solid with the only real issue being the character designs as Worzel himself looks really off putting and ugly where as Aunt Sally looks great which might be the point as Worzel is meant to look really ugly but at the same time the character still needs to look visually appealing in order to get young kids to watch the show or even this episode in the first place.

For some reason even tho this episode was found in 2019 it wasn't included on the recent restored edition of Worzel Gummidge. With the episode instead popping up as a bonus feature on the recently released restored edition for Worzel Gummidge Down Under which really doesn't make that much sense as this episode has just as much in line with the original series then it does with Worzel Gummidge Down Under with this episode taking place in England as such given that the original series took place in and was made in England it would have made alot more sense for the episode to be featured on that box set then it does this new one but there might have been an issue with the restoration that made it impossible to be included on the original series box set which if that really is the case then fair enough but if not it does really make you wonder why it wasn't included on the original series box set.

This episode was alot more kid friendly then what both the original series and Down Under was which was a bit weird to see. As while both series were made for kids they also had very scary episodes and dealt with some very scary themes and yet here it felt like they were just treating as a TV show for kids and were thus to afraid to include anything that might scare kids with Aunt Sally being the best example of this as while she does act child like in the show as does Worzel Gummidge himself for that matter here it felt like that they just upped that aspect of both of the characters whilst downplaying alot of the other aspects of both of the characters and as a result of that we get the characters acting really childish but not in a way that's funny or charming with it instead being in a way that's just childish and silly something which the original show would never have done.

While this version of the show never made it air that doesn't mean that the pilot was unsuccessful as they did manage to convince a network to pick up the show. On the basis that those involved with making the show secure the funds to actually make it but sadly the show could never come to be thanks due to the death of franchise star Jon Pertwee with the even sadder news being that the show had secured quite alot of the funding needed to complete production on the show before he passed away with this show being the last thing that he worked which is sad as not only was it Jon's idea to do the show in the first place but he also put it quite alot of his own money to help to get the show but he was also a huge champion for Worzel Gummidge even spearheading getting the original show made all the way back in the late nineteen seventies.

Now then I cannot for the absolutely life of me remember whatever thus episodes grad total running time even was but I d know for a fact that this episode has / had an exact grand total running time of roughly sixteen minuets. However as the feature in question also plays a two and half minuet interview prior to the episode playing it's more like fourteen minuets and thirty seconds which either way is a rather solid running time for this episode as it doesn't really have alot their interms of plot to really cover anything longer then that with the episode really just focusing on the characters of Worzel and Aunt Sally and given that the show really doesn't really need to set up there characters thanks to both the original series and Worzel Gummidge Down Under the episode itself really doesn't really need alot of time to tell it's story but I will admit that the episode really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is a comedy that means that I have to actually talk about the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was really good for the most part. As while we do get some really good jokes in this episode there just not on the same level as the jokes that we would get in the original series as those jokes were timeless where the jokes in this episode whilst still funny felt like a joke that you'd only see in the nineties with the episode really having alot of focus on slapstick comedy for some reason which whilst funny doesn't really work all that well for Worzel Gummidge at all in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this was a rather fun episode and it was great to see some lost Worzel Gummidge material of a show that sadly will never get to be but at the same time this show doesn't really represent the character at his best in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very episode in this very review and as such that means that this very episode earns itself a grand old score of exactly a 6 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that In personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from Amazon . Co . Uk and Google Images. With my personally preferred website to use to get the images from these very episode that I used in this very review being Google Images really simply just due to the fact that really alot of the images that are on Google Images are all really fairly high in quality and as well as them all really being really fairly freaking high in definition.
