Elena And The Secret Of Avalor Review

Disney fans i'm back with a review i may have hinted at in an earlier post and honestly it's really decent movie so here is my review of Elena And The Secret Of Avalor.

The plot of this Sofia/Elena crossover prequel is Sofia has to find away to free a trapped princess and overthrow an evil queen. The plot of this movie does move i think at a fast pace and it could have benefited from having an extra thirty minuets but since the film clocks in at an hour and three minuets it means that certain plot points get rushed but the story as a whole is really good if somewhat predictable.

Since this is a crossover movie that features a ton of cast members i'm only going to name the three main stars and they are Ariel Winter as Princess Sofia , Aimee Carrero as Princess Elena and the great and legendary Jane Fonda as The Villain. I wasn't kidding when i said Elena had some great guest stars but the cast in this movie/special do a great job voicing there characters and that really doesn't shock me since both this and both TV shows were in development so both the main leads and the various supporting cast had the time to get to know there characters and we all know Jane Fonda will be great in this.

Like Elena and Sofia this show is done in CGI but unlike those shows where the animation was really top notch the animation in this film to me felt like a down grade i can't explain why i got that feeling but for a movie that's not a good thing maybe it's due to the fact they were also making two TV shows at the same time.

The major issue i have with this movie/special is the fact that it's a prequel to a TV show that was still airing now from what i can gather this film was meant to debut before the series which to me makes sense but for some unknown reason the film got pushed back until November 2016 so then why did they premier the first episode of Elena on July 22nd 2016 why not push the start of the series until December of November since then the no one will know how the film ends but they didn't do that so now we know how the film ends before it even starts.

The score and songs where done by both shows composer John Kavanaugh and i have to say that the songs in this film for me was better then the score it self all three songs those being "The Great Unknown" , "The Spirit of Avalor" and "My Time" were really catchy and they all had great beats to them and more importantly they didn't sound like over produced pop songs they worked great for this film and i loved them.

Overall i'd say if your interested in watching Elena Of Avalor i'd say check out this movie first since it acts as a pilot to the series for me tho this film gets a 6.5 out of 10.
