Superman: The Mad Scientist A Short Film Review

When we think of comic book cartoon we usually think of ones that are on TV. Well there was a time when cartoons would debut exclusively in cinemas with one of those being the Superman cartoons and so then join me as I review the cartoon that helped to inspire another iconic DC animated TV show with the cartoon in question being called simply just "The Mad Scientist" enjoy.

The plot of this film is when a mad scientist writes a note proclaiming that will attack Metropolis its up to Superman to stop him and rescue Lois Lane. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad as even tho it was a rather simple plot that's all it really needed to as the best aspect of these cartoons is there simple set ups as that's where they thrive the best with this films plot also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is Bud Collyer as Clark Kent / Superman , Joan Alexander as Lois Lane and Jackson Beck as Perry White. Also starring in this film is Jack Mercer as The Mad Scientist and Grant Richards as The Narrator. Cartoons from around this time more often then not only had one or two actors per-cartoon as such it is quite surprising to see a cartoon that actually has quite a few actors in it.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. With all of this films main actors turning in some really good performances which is something that really ďoes make sense as Bud Collyer also played Superman on the radio and as such he really would know how best the character with the rest of the films actors more then holding there own when it comes to acting against him with the acting that's in this very film really being helped by the fact that this films script is just so good that all this films actors really have to do is just say the lines as they are written and a good performance really will come out of them naturally which is something that really does help to raise the overall quality of the acting that's in this very film.

Doing the animation for this film is the true legends and the really greats that are currently over at Fleischer Studios. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good which is something that's not all that surprising given the fact that Fleischer Studios more likely then not produced some very high quality animation with the animation that's in this film not being any exception to that rule as it looks like the kind of animation that Disney was pitting into his feature length films as that's just how good this films animation really is.

As was mentioned at the very start of this review this cartoon and this whole series of cartoons helped to inspire another classic DC animated TV show. That being Batman: The Animated Series as the makers of that show looked to this series for inspiration when it comes to storytelling as not only this cartoon but the rest of these shorts have a very dark and gritty look to them with this cartoon also being very noir in its storytelling and plot as such when it came to making Batman: The Animated Series the makers of that show gave it a very dark and gritty look and made like a crime noir thriller much in the line of this cartoon.

If there's anything that this episode does wrong it's in the fact that the titular Mad Scientist really isn't given much in the way of personality. As a result of that is the fact that he comes across as being quite the dull and boring character when it would have made more sense for him to be quite a scary and intimidating villain heck he's not even given a reason for being evil and as a result of that is the fact that he just comes across as being evil for the sake of being evil and while this film really wouldn't have had the time needed in order to fully develop his character it is something that would have made the cartoon even better as a hero is only as good as the villain that there facing there for if The Mad Scientist is a weak villain then it makes Superman out to be a weak hero as well.

Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly ten minutes and thirty six seconds. With this being the perfect running time for this film to have as this film has the right amount of plot there to really cover that amount running with this film even taking the time to tell Superman's origin story as well as tell the main plot of the film and while yes this film really would have benefitted from having a longer running time as that would then allow for the films plot to become more fleshed out and the central villain of the film to be more developed as well it is something that would have been impossible to do as animated films had only just become full length feature films and nobody was doing superhero films at all but I really will admit that this film really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is an action film that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad. As for the time that this film was made in they really do have alot of action in it with best and only action scene in the whole entire film being the fight between Superman and The Mad Scientist as its there that we get to see the weapon that the scientist wants to use on Metropolis really get the better of the man of steel and seeing Superman rise to the occasion to take this villain is truly something that really does need to seen to be believed in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall if the new Superman film is as good as this short film from the forties is then alot of people really will be happy as this short film is just that good in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very film really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly an 8.5 out of 10 from me.

Doctor Who: The War Games In Colour A Short SPOILER FILLED Review

While alot of people very rightfully so await the release of the latest Doctor Who episode. You'd be forgiven for forgetting the fact that we are technically getting two Doctor Who episodes airing this week with the one that I'm going to be reviewing for you all today being the latest black and white episode to get colourised and so then join me as I give you my SPOILER FILLED review of the episode that is a very important episode of the show with the episode in question being called simply just "The War Games In Colour" enjoy.

The plot of this episode is The Doctor , Jaime and Zoe find themselves stuck in the middle of a war where there's something far more sinister going something that will have dire consequences for The Doctor. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not bad but given the episodes new format being moved from ten half an hour episodes to one ninety minuet episode the plot does at times feel all over the place with it also lacking focus as well with the plot of this episode also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty really good. With all of this episodes actors be they the shows regular actors or the episodes gues actors everybody in this episode really does bring there A game in this episode with a special shout out going to Patrick Troughton who really phenomenal in this episode and is quite easily th3 best actor in this episode with the acting that's in this very episode really was being helped by the fact that this episodes script is just so good that all this episodes actors really have to do is just say the lines as they are written and a good performance really will come out of them naturally which is something that really does help to raise the overall quality of the acting that's in this very episode.

One of the things that the original cut of the episode was it's scope. Which is something that is very sadly lost in this cut of the episode for while the original cut of the episode had the time that it really needed in order to set up locations and make each zone in these deadly games feel real and lived in here due to the much shorter running the episode really cannot afford to do that and because of that the episode does that extra something that makes the original cut of the episode work so well and when all of the locations no matter how small they are really go along way to making the episode work just aren't given the time that they need to feel real and lived then the whole episode comes across as missing that extra something that was in the original cut of the episode.

There was two major selling points when the BBC was announcing this episode to be colourised the first was the fact that this episode was being shown in colour for the first time. However its the second thing that got people more excited and that's the fact that we finally get to see Patrick Troughton regenerate into Jon Pertwee with the effect it self not looking all that bad but at the same time it is something that does come across as being really underwhelming as alot of looks computer animated but at the same time tho it is cool to finally get to see what Patrick Troughtons regeneration might have looked like and the fact that we even get a Jon Pertwee small scene at the end being the icing on the cake.

To give this episode at least some credit the colours do look alot better in this episode then they did in The Daleks In Colour. With all of the characters having some really muted and almost realistic colours to them when in The Daleks In Colour it seemed like who ever was doing the colourisation for the episode just went with typical bright colours here it felt like that the team behind the colourisation went with a more realistic approach with it no doubt being helped that thanks to the Doctor Who animated range we know what the colour scheme is for both The Doctor and Jaime and yet with Zoe they gave these really warm colours that works with her character.

Now then this episode has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour and twenty nine minuets and fifty eight seconds. Which really isn't a good running time for this episode as this story was originally ten episodes which from what I can gather as I haven't seen the original cut of the episode myself allowed the story to move at a much more natural pace where as here because of the fact that the story has been cut down to one hour and ninety minuets things don't flow as well as they could have and while The Daleks In Colour didn't have this problem because of the fact that even in the original story there were parts that could have been cut out and not have the actual plot be effected here tho it felt like that by trying to squeeze this story into a one hour and ninety minuet running time it felt like that the makers behind this cut of the episode were doing more harm to the story then good but I really will admit that this episode really doesn't have all that good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is an action show that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty really good. With this episodes action being aloy better then what you'd expect from the show during this time frame with being as clear as day the the makers of the episode wanted this final black and white to go out with bang and as a result of that is the fact that they just went all out with this episodes action and it really is something that shows through in the final cut of the episode in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall its safe to say that out of the two colourisations that we've been given thus far that The Daleks In Colour is the better one this is despite this one having colours that are more true to the show and the characters and the less a out Mark Ayres intrusive music and distracting new effects the better in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very episode in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very episode really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 6.5 out of 10 from me.

Good Luck Charlie: It's Christmas! A Short Film Review

There are some films that only feel right when you watch them at a certain time of the year. With the film that i'm going to be reviewing for you all today being just such a film so much so that it's taken me years to finally get around to reviewing it and come hell or high water I really was going to review this film this year and so then join me as I review the film that sees the entire Duncan family go on their biggest adventure yet with the film in question being called simply just "Good Luck Charlie: It's Christmas!" enjoy.

The plot of this film is when Teddy gets the chance to earn an extra plain ticket to go on spring break her mother Amy must travel across the country to make sure that they make it to their families house in Florida on Christmas Day. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad as it is a plot that feels very in line with the show but at the same time tho this really isn't a strong enough plot for entire movie as it very easily could have been the plot of a two part episode of the show itself with the plot also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is Bridgit Mendler as Teddy Duncan , Leigh-Allyn Baker as Amy Duncan and Bradley Steven Perry as Gabe Duncan. Bell as Lenny , David Wells as Stan , Pamela Dunlap as Sue , Joey Nader as Daryl , Abbie Cobb as Jordan and Raven Goodwin as Ivy.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad. Which is something that's to be expected from a Disney Channel Original Movie as those don't typically have that good acting in them with the TV shows actors being the best actors in this film which is something that does make sense as they had been playing for a few years at this point in time and it's the films newer actors that sadly do let this films acting down by quite a bit with the acting that's in this very film not really being helped by the fact that this films script is just so bad as it gives none of this films actors really absolutely nothing to work with interms of what it is that there respective characters personalities are even meant to be in the first place which is something that really does help to lower the overall quality of the acting that's in this very film.

What this film really shouldn't have done is made this a story about Amy and Teddy. As the show was never just about them infact they very rarely had any plots together if anything this film should have been an ensemble piece with the rest of the TV series main cast instead of splitting up the cast in order to have a less interesting and quite frankly dull and boring subplot this is something that would have worked in an episode of the show but for the movie what you want to see is your favourite main characters being together and while the idea of making this a mother and daughter road trip movie does sound interesting this film just doesn't pull that idea off despite us getting some heartwarming and at times quite funny scenes out of it.

As is to be expected this film wasn't made by the same team that made the show with the shows creators Phil Baker and Drew Vaupen being credited as the creators of the show and getting an executive producer credit. With both this films director Arlene Sanford and this films writer Geoff Rodkey having never worked on the show before and it really does show as the characters very rarely if ever act like how they would in the show nor do they sound like how they would in the show compare this to Wizards Of Waverly Place: The Movie where the showrunner from the show had to actually step in to fix that films script here it feels like that whoever was the showrunner for Good Luck Charlie either couldn't be bothered to fix the films script or was just to busy to fix this films script.

To this films credit it is one of the very movies that's based off of a Disney Channel Original Series that is actually canon to the show. As this movie is the one that sets up that Amy is expecting yet another child something that wouldn't be payed off until a later episode of the show which is a good idea as it does make the movie feel like its actually apart of the TV series canon whereas the Wizards Of Waverly Place movie was very quickly made non canon to the show despite the movie having a better version of the wizard ccompetition here tho due to the nature of the show there was no reason to make the movie non canon and so the events of this movie did technically actually happen with movie being something that people who want to watch the Good Luck Charlie story now have to watch.

Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour and twenty minutes and ten seconds. Which is pretty much the bogstandard running time that you'd expect from a film like this one with this film not really having alot there interms of plot to really cover that amount of running time with the subplot with the male members of the Duncan family feeling like filler for the vast majority of this films running time which makes it odd when the film then decides to tie in both this plot and main plot together by the end of the film if anything the film should have made more of an effort into making the subplot feel like its worth watch since as things stand it feels like the film is padding out its running when if it just had a much more stronger plot line or a shorter running time then it really wouldn't need padding out at all but I really will admit that this film really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is a comedy that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad. With the film having some really funny moments in it at times be it Amy turning her and Teddy's arguments into a literal song and dance routine or Gabe just torturing PJ after PJ got a really bad sun burn there are alot of really funny jokes in this film with it being those moments and more where the characters actually feel like themselves and the movie actually feels like a good representation of the show within those moments as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall its very easy to see why alot of people don't talk about this movie as it is a really forgettable film but at the same time tho it's also a really harmless and funny and at times fun filled film with some really likable characters in it as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Wallace & Gromit: The Wrong Trousers A Short Film Review

Depending on where you are in the world right now we are either a week away or about two weeks away before the worlds most famous cheese loving inventor and his dog make there grand return. With there being quite a few Wallace And Gromit short films it was for a long time quite hard to pick which one would be the tie in review for Vengeance Most Fowl but then it was announced who the villain of that film is to be and so then join me as I review the film that intruced Wallace and Gromit to there most fearsome feathered foe with the film in question being called simple just "Wallace & Gromit: The Wrong Trousers" enjoy.

The plot of this film is when there running low on Wallace lets out a room only for the person renting it to have his own goals in mind. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad as this films plot really was just vast imaginative and as crazy and really insane as you'd want it to be the issue is tho is that this film really doesn't go all the way with its central plot and even drops a subplot involving Gromit leaving Wallace because of the fact that he was starting to feel really unwelcome with the plot of this film also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Given that this film was made when they only had one or two voice actors per film starring in this film is Peter Sallis as Wallace. Having not even a handful of speaking characters per short film is a good way to save on money as it means having less characters to animate and it means having less actors to cast in the film and to this films credit it really doesn't need that many characters in it in order to make the film work as all it needs is Wallace and that's really it as the film would run the risk of being bogged down by having to many characters and while having alot of characters is something that works really well for The Curse If The Were-Rabbit as that's a feature length film given that this is only a short film it's a case of less equals more.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good which given that Peter Sallis was a really good actor in his own right is really not all that surprising as he always turned in a really good performance in everything that he was in with the same thing also being true for this film as he is the only actor in this film and as a result of that is the fact that this film really does rest on his performance something that he is more then capable of living up to with the acting that's in this very film also being really helped by the fact that this films script is just so good that all this films actors really have to do is just say the lines as they are written and a good performance really will come out of them naturally which is something that really does help to raise the overall quality of the acting that's in this very film.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good and was more then up to the already really high standard that Aardman Animations already have with it being even more impressive when you take into account that this film was quite literally made in a shed as Aardman Animations didn't have any offices at this point in time and yet they still somehow managed to produce a film that has some truly wonderful animation in it.

If you can watch this film on the earliest physical release that you can. As the version of the film that's up on BBC Iplayer is the one where they've changed all of the songs that are playing all throughout the film which isn't a knock on the film itself but given that all of the songs that were used in the original cut of the film were all royalty free songs it really doesn't make sense for Aardman to change them even more so when you take into account that one of the songs that was changed is also a key plot point as its a song that Feathers uses to taunt Gromit and then gets Wallace singing it to himself there really should have been some effort to at least get that song back in the film where it really does belong.

If there's one thing that this film is really well known for then it's it's toy train chase scene. Which is just as wonderful as you'd want to be with Feathers being chased down by our heroes on the toy train that runs all throughout there house with the scene itself being so good that even impressed the then heads at PIXAR when they were making the first ever Toy Story film and it's not hard to see why as the chase scene in this film not only has alot great comedic moments with Wallace being forced to keep his arms and legs close to him when they go underneath the table or the fact that when Wallace tries to grab Feathers he accidentally ends up grabbing the train itself with the chase scene also just being a really fun filled way to end the film as well.

Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly twenty eight minuets and forty four seconds. Which is pretty much the bogstandard running time for these Wallace And Gromit shorts to have and to this films credit it really does have the right amount there interms of plot to really cover that amount of running time but at the same time tho it would have been nice if the film was just a few minutes longer as that would allow for the makers of the film to not only develop it's plot and jokes a bit more but it would also allow for the makers to develop Feathers McGraw as villain as well but it could also be argued that not knowing all that much about hischaracter is kind if the point of his character but I really will admit that this film really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is a comedy film that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. With the film having alot of really cute moments and while most Americans won't get why the sight gags in this film are funny those of us who live in England and grew up in the nineties will find them to be hilarious and while some of the jokes don't land all that well those that do land really well and are more intense then not some of the best jokes in the while entire film as there just that good and there justcall that funny as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this film is one that is just as good now as it was back in the nineties and while Feathers McGraw isn't as fully developed as he really could have been he still comes across as being a really fearsome foe for the workds most famous cheese loving inventor and his dog in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Doctor Who: The Evil Of The Daleks Review

When it comes to Doctor Who foes they really don't get anymore well known then the Daleks. With the characters having been in the show since its second ever serial all the way back in 1963 with the characters being a staple of not only the show but also pop culture as such there alot of really good stories featuring the villains and so then join me as I review the episode that not only added a new companion but also a new head Dalek as well with the episode in question being called simply just "The Evil Of The Daleks" enjoy.

The plot of this episode is when the TARDIS is taken in 1966 The Doctor and Jaime have to find away of getting it back which includes having to help the Daleks with there latest scheme for taking over the world. Now then interms of I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty really good and while the above synopsis doesn't come close to doing the episode justice it doesn't change the fact that this episodes plot is one of the best plots that the Daleks have ever been apart of with the plot of this episode also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty really good which is really nothing new for this show as this show even at this point in its life span always had some really good acting in it and that's something that's also true for this episode as well as all of this episodes actors really do turn in some really good performances with the acting that's in this very episode really being helped by the fact that this episodes script is just so good that all this episodes actors really have to do is just say the lines as they are written and a good performance really will come out of them naturally which is something that really does help to raise the overall quality of the acting that's in this very episode.

For once I actually can't tell you who did the animation for this episode as there is no animation company listed anywhere online. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty really good with this episode being one of the more better animated for the more recent Doctor Who animations with this episode blending 2D flash animation with 3D CGI animation with the episode mainly using 3D CGI animation to bring crowds of Daleks to life and to give some really stunning shots that wouldn't have been possible to do in 2D.

As was mentioned at the start of this review this episode does see two aspects to the show get introduced those being new companion Victoria Waterfield and The Empeor Dalek. With The Emperor Dalek being a large Dalek who is plugged into several walls and who has a large and booming voice who commands The Daleks and is a good edition to the show as it adds more lore not only to rhe show as a whole but to The Daĺek race as well as they now have someone who is just as threatening as they are and while this new edition to the show is one that's really good what isn't is The Doctors new companion Victoria Waterfield as she really doesn't get much of a chance to show why she should be chosen to travel with Jaime and The Doctor which is of course of no fault of her actress Deborah Watling and as such it really does come out of nowhere when at the end of the episode The Doctor announces to Jaime that she'll be joining them in the TARDIS.

This episode does technically have two villains with the second one being the far weaker Theodore Maxtible. As he really doesn't become a villain untill the final three episodes of this seven part episode by which point he's pointless to make as a villain as the story is wrapping up by that point with his main motivation for willingly helping the Daleks with there goal is just because he wants to know a secret and that's really it compare that with the Daleks own end hook which is to forcibly give humans what they call The Dakek Factor to turn them into Dakeks then his plan comes across as being the weaker of the two with the episode not really needing a secondary villain as The Daleks themselves are strong enough to hold an entire episode by themselves.

Now then whilst I cannot for the absolutely life of me remember whatever this episodes grand total running time even was I do know that for a fact that this episode has / had an exact grand total running time of roughly two hours and fifty seven minuets. With this episode being a whopping seven episodes in length and it really did need all of those episodes in order to fully tell it's story as either cutting an episode or adding an episode would do some damage to either the story itself or the pacing of the episode with the episode having just the right amount there interms of plot to really cover that very large amount of running time and while the episode doesn't take as full advantage of it's episode count or running tome as it really could have done but I really will admit that this episode really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is an action show that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty really good. With the episode having a big Dalek civil war between the pure Daleks and those that have been given the human factor by The Doctor and it was just so cool seeing these two sides going as well but we oddly get more action scenes in this episode as we both which aren't that good as they are just Jaime ever getting into a badly down sword fight or taking part in a badly done fight both of which would have been passable if they were the only action scene in the episode but given that we get that awesome Dalek Vs Dalek fight it's rhat one that's the best action scene in the whole entire episode in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this episode is quite easily one of if not the best Dalek story from early Doctor Who with this episode being not really a must watch but one that alot of people who don't like the show will enjoy just as much as those that do in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this episode in this very review and as such that means that this very episode really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly an 8.5 out of 10 from me.

Spider-Man: The Animated Series "Kraven The Hunter" A ShortReview

It's been quite a while since I last spoke about anything from the classic Spider-Man: The Animated Series. Well with Kraven The Hunter just about to be released this seemed like the perfect chance to kill two birds with one stone and so then join me as I review the episode that sees Spider-Mn come face to face with Kraven for the first time with the episode in question being called simply just "Kraven The Hunter" enjoy.

The plot of this episode is Spidey has to protect a professor who is being harassed by her exboyfriend who is more animal then man. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad as it eas the kind of plot that you'd find in this show and to be fair this episode does the most with what very little plot that there is to begin with but that's also the issue as this episodes plot isn't all that strong of a plot to begin with with the plot of this episode also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Also starring in this episode is Linda Gary as May Parker , Sara Ballantine as Mary Jane Watson , Jennifer Hale as Felicia Hardy , Rodney Saulsberry as Joseph Robertson , Gregg Berger as Sergei Kravinoff / Kraven The Hunter and Susan Beaubian as Mariah Crawford.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad. With the actors from this show that you expect a really good performance from giving us exactly that but that's also the issue as this episodes could have been so much more better then what we got as all you have to is look at Batman: The Animated Series more specifically the episode "Heart Of Ice" which on paper could have been a really bad but due to how good that shows cast was they turned in great performances but here this episodes actors just seem lost on what to do acting wise with the acting that's in this very episode also being helped by the fact that this episodes script is just so good that all this episodes actors really have to do is just say the lines as they are written and a good performance really will come out of them naturally which is something that really does help to raise the overall quality of the acting that's in this very episode.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt about the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad as it did look really good but at the same tome tho it was also lacking that extra special something to make it standout and feel different from all of the other animated superhero shows that were bring made and airing at the time but to this episodes credit when we do see some really solid looking animation it is something really does stand out because of how good that it was.

This was the first episode of the show to feature the character of Kraven The Hunter. With this episode giving us a good look at his backstory with him being a big game hunter who was forced into becoming a tour guide when hunting animals became illegal where he then fell in love with Mariah but only became the way that he is when after he was attacked Mariah was forced to give him an experimental drug which cure and heals all injuries but over time slowly turns you more animalistic which is a really good backstory for the character as it perfectly explains how the character became the way that he is in a way that feels real but givin that this is a comic book show then the makers of the show really should have leaned into aspect of the show and just had alot of fun not only with the character himself but also his backstory.

For some reason even tho the show is named after him Spider-Man himself barely has an impact on the plot of the episode. As Mariah was already working on a cure to give Kraven in the first place and when he's tasked with tracking her down by Kraven Mariah herself just goes straight to Kraven and heck it could even be argued that having Spider-Man in the story makes the story worse as its due to him that Robbie finds himself being kidnapped by Kraven all of which makes it feel like that Spider-Man was forced into this plot when not having him in the story wouldn't affect the actual plot of the episode with Spider-Man feeling more like a side character in an episode of his own show.

Now then this episode has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly nineteen minuets and forty nine seconds. Which is a solid running time for this episode to have but at the same given that alot of shows from around this same period usually had twenty two minuets it is still odd to see an episode have less then twenty minuets with this having the add on effect of making things like Kraven and Mariah falling in love feel rushed when it's something that would have been better told if the episode took its time in telling there romance like instead of having Kraven's backstory told in one go have it be told over the course of the episode as that would then make us the audience really care for there romance and have it play into whatever Peter is going through thus actually giving us a reason for Spidey actually being in this episode but I really will admit that this episode really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is an action show that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad. As the episode really dies have some really good action scenes like having Kraven and Spidey fight each other on the side of a building which is a good idea and even there final fight is good in parts but the issue is tho us that the action on the whole despite having a few bright spots can also at times be really dull to look at as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least 

Overall while this wasn't the best episode of this show its also not the worst one either as there is a clear love for the characters and that world really seen all throughout this episode in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this episode in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very episode really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 7 out of 10 from me.

Dream Productions TV Series A Short SPOILER FILLED Review

PIXAR until very recently very rarely if ever ventured into the world of television and yet that's exactly what they've just done. As the company have released all four episodes of there latest TV show with the show being a spin off of the really highly popular Inside Out franchise and so then join me as I give you my SPOILER FILLED review of the show that makes dreams a reality with rhe show in question being calledcsimply just "Dream Productions" enjoy.

The plot of this show is dream director Paula Persimmon finds herself without a hit a dream and has to come up with one before Riley attends a school dance. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very show well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very show was in all honesty not that bad as it was the kind of plot that could only work in a TV show format and to this shows credit the plot does manage to keep the spirit of the films alive and well whilst also doing there own unique thing as well with the plot of this show also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this show is Paula Pell as Paula Persimmon , Richard Ayoade as Xeni and Amy Poehler as Joy. Also starring in this show is Kensington Tallman as Riley Andersen , Liza Lapira as Disgust , Tony Hale as Fear , Lewis Black as Anger , Phyllis Smith as Sadness , Maya Rudolph as Jean Dewberry and Ally Maki as Janelle.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very show well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very show was in all honesty not that bad with the returning actors turning in some really good performances which does make sense as they've been playing there respective characters for years at this point in time but where the acting does take a slight dip in quality is from the newer actors who just can't hold a candle acting wise when it comes to acting with the franchises more established characters and actors with the acting that's in this very show being helped by the fact that the script for this show is just so good that all this shows actors have to do is just say the lines as they are written and a good performance really will come out of them naturally which is something that really does help to raise the overall quality of the acting that's in this very show.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very show well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very show was in all honesty really good and is up to the already really high standard that you come to exoext from anything that PIXAR touches with what makes this shows animation  even more impressive is the fact that not only does it have a fully 2D character in the show but that this show was also being animated at the exact same time as Inside Out 2 was also being made as well.

Even tho this show was being made at the exact same time as Inside Out 2. This show actually takes place in between the events of Inside Out and Inside Out 2 which is a smart move as there is a big time skip in between the films where these more smaller scale stories could take place and not have it effect the plots of either film and yet by setting the show when it does it does also allow for us the audience to see the characters as they were before all of the new emotions came in with this show mainly using characters like Joy for example to hand off the story telling to these new characters which is a great way to use the older characters as even they do keep in coming back in all throughout the shows four episodes it never impacts the story that's currently being told.

One of the few things that I really hated about the show is the fact that it uses a mockunentary style format alot of the time. Which is just something that doesn't work for this show as all it does is make you wonder who is filming it since Dream Productions is meant to be the only film studio inside Riley's mind and yet the characters frequently break the fourth wall by talking directly to a camera which is something that works well enough for shows like The Office and Modern Family for example but here it really doesn't work and if anything a more traditional format would have worked better something which does creep its way into the show which makes the whole mockumentary setup come across as feeling all the more pointless.

Now then this show has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour and twenty two minuets. With no episode lasting longer then twenty three minuets which is a great running time for each episode of this show to last as none of the episodes have deep and thought proviking plots that require a longer running time with the show making the most out of it's running as it does take the time to fully establish Dream Productions as an interesting setting that's filled to the brim with some good characters the issue however comes from the fact that due to this show only being four episodes long that none of this shows can be fully developed characters and as a result of that is the fact that this shows characters do come across as being really forgettable at best but I really will admit that this show really does have some really bad pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is a comedy show that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very show well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very show was in all honesty not that bad. As the show does have some really funny moments but at the same time tho there are jokes in this show that should land and that should get a laugh out of people but just don't as the show just doesn't take the time that it really needs to set up all of it's jokes properly but when the show does tell a good joke it can be a really good joke in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.
