Doctor Who: Space Babies AND The Devil's Chord SPOILER FILLED Review

After three long years and seven specials Doctor Who is finally back with a brand new full length series. To say that the hype for these first two episodes has been big would be a huge understatement as there has been alot of hype surrounding the release of these first two episodes so much so that you couldn't really escape it as it really was everywhere and so then join me as I give you my SPOILER FILLED review of the episodes that see the launch of the latest Doctor Who series with the episodes in question being called simply just "Space Babies" and The Devil's Chord" enjoy.

The plot of Space Babies is when The Doctor and Ruby find themselves on a space station crewed by babies they have to find out what the thing is that's haunting the babies and in The Devil's Chord The Doctor and Ruby find themselves at Abbey Road in 1963 where they have to defeat someone who wants to rid the world of music forever. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plots that are actually featured / presented to us in these very episodes well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plots that are actually featured / presented to us in these very episodes was in all honesty not that bad with The Devil's Chord having the much more stronger plot which would have been better served as the actual first episode of the episode whilst the plot of Space Babies is a plot that's better served for that of a Christmas special and not the main series itself with both plots being really rather entertaining and as well as being really engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Also starring in these episodes is Sami Amber as The Voice Of Eric , Lonnee Archibong as The Voice Of Adjani , Shola Olaitan-Ajiboye as The Voice Of Poppy , Param Patel as The Voice Of Marcel , Robert Strange as The Bogeyman , Cadence Williams as The Voice Of Sandra , George Caple as Paul McCartney , Philip Davies as George Harrison , James Hoyles as Ringo Starr , Simon Jason-Smith as Vinnie , Jeremy Limb as Timothy Drake , Chris Mason as John Lennon , Kit Rakusen as Henry , Shirley Ballas as Herself , this shows composer Murray Gold as Himself , Johannes Radebe as Himself , Chicken Run: Dawn Of The Nugget star Josie Sedgwick-Davies as Cilla Black and Jinkx Monsoon as Maestro.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in these very episodes well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in these very episodes was in all honesty not that bad. However that's also the problem as the acting in both of these episodes isn't all that good either with the voice cast in episode one not really turning in that good of a performance with there performances coming across as being wooden but at the same time the acting from the live action cast in both of the episodes is really good for the most part as Jinkx Monsoon does have a habit of shouting alot of her lines when it would have better suited if her lines weren't shouted at all what really really foes help the acting in these episodes is the fact that the scripts for both of these episodes is just so good that all the actors in both of these episodes have to do is just say the lines as they are written and a good performance will come out of them naturally which is something that really does help to raise the overall quality of the acting that's in these episodes.

For once it's impossible to say who did the CGI for both of these episodes as there's no effects company listed anywhere online. Now then 8nterms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual CGI thats actually featured / presented to us in these very episodes well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in these very episodes was in all honesty not that bad with both of these episodes having some really good CGI but at the same time there are some effects in both episodes that don't look as good as the rest of them with the babies CGI mouths in Space Babies just looking weird and kind of off putting and alot of the effects that the villain in The Devil's Chord uses just looking either A) unfinished or B) to cartoony to be taken seriously in a live action show all of which makes you wonder where all of the Disney money in these two episodes went to as alot of the time you can't really see the money either on screen or really in the CGI for both of these episodes.

One of the things that got alot of hate from the second that it was announced was the fact that Disney+ and thus America are technically getting this show at a much more better time. With the British getting the show at midnight on BBC IPlayer which means that if you love Doctor Who and you live in the UK it means that you somehow have to avoid spoilers all day long which shouldn't be a thing as Doctor Who is a UK institution and has been since the nineteen eighties and yet for some unknown it's the Americans that are getting favored over the people that helped to make the show as big as it is in the first place with this being made all the more odd that when you take into account that when they tried doing a same day release for The Day Of The Doctor they gave the UK audience the better time whilst the Americans got the special in the afternoon which begs the question why the same thing couldn't be done here with this feeling more like something that was forced upon show as current showrunner was caught on Instagram liking comments from people who really don't like the fact that the Americans are being favored over the British audiences.

The villain of episode two The Maestro really does feel like she or they are trying to be hard to be funny and scary. With it being revealed that they are actually related to The Toymaker which really doesn't make sense as that character doesn't seem like the kind of character to have kids as he seems like the type of character who really does care more about himself to settle down and start a family which makes this what does seem like a good idea seem like one that was done to justify why The Maestro is acting how there acting instead of having them act crazy and insane just because of the fact that there crazy and insane which is all the reason that you'd really need you don't need to know why The Master is crazy you just know that he's crazy and that's all you need for that character to work and it's the same thing for this character but with that being said tho this character does seem like a fun character who could really develop into a great villain for this new era of the show and the fact that they openly give you a reason as to how that character could return during the episodes musical shows that the makers of the show know full well that there expecting her to become a series regular villain should she be brought back. 

While both episodes have there more goofy moments with the Devil's Chord even having a musical number near the end of the episode and Space babies having talking babies. It's Space Babies that seems the more goofier of the two which isn't as bad thing as it does make the episode more fun but at the same time tho it's also something that doesn't work as it gets in the way of telling a good story which in that episodes fairness it really could have bee and it's those more overtly goofy moments that go along way to make that episode feel alot more like a Christmas special as talking babies are the types of things that you'd expect to see in a Doctor Who christmas special and not something that you'd expect or even want to see in the show proper and while the musical number in The Devil's Chord is a goofy moment here it actually serves a purpose to the story unlike the musical sequence in The Church On Ruby Road as here it goes to hint at how the villain could be coming back and while both episodes are incredibly goofy both episodes are also really fun to watch as well.

Now then while I cannot for the absolutely life of me remember what ever the grand total running time was for both of this episode I do know for a fact that episode one has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly forty six minuets and twenty four second an episode two has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly forty nine minuets and forty eight seconds. With episode two having the better running time as it has more then enough there interms of plot to really cover that large amount of running time where with episode one where it does have alot of plot to really cover that large amount of running time it also has alot of scenes that feel alot like filler scenes that are there just to pad out the episode when the episode itself doesn't need padding out take for a example the bit with The Doctor and Ruby being in the dinosaur period where Ruby steps onto a butterfly and becomes an alien really thanks to the butterfly effect whilst it is a fun scene it's also one that doesn't really play a part in the episodes plot but I will admit that both episodes really do have some some really good pacing to both of them tho.

So now then as this is an action show that means that I have to actually talk about the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in these very episodes well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us un these very episodes was in all honesty not that bad. However that's also the problem as the action in both of these episodes wasn't all that good either with episode one having the better action out of the two episodes just because that's when the episode feels alot more fun but in a good way where as the action in episode whilst impressive doesn't really take fully advantage of what it is that The Maestro can do and thus it feels alot less creative and alot less fun to watch as well but when we get some good action in that episode it really does grab your attention and really is some creative action but episode one will always have the better action out of the two just due to how fun it is but what could have made it better was if they actually had the babies play apart in the episodes just to really go all the way with that episodes goofiness and it would have the action in that episode all the more fun to watch as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall while Space Babies is the more fun of the two episodes it's The Devil's Chord that is the overall better of the two episodes as that episode feels like it should have been the series premiere where as Space Babies feels alot more like a Doctor Who christmas special due to how goofy that it is in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in both of these episodes in this very review and as result that means that Space babies earns itself a grand old score of exactly a 6.5 out of 10 where as The Devil's Chord earns itself a grad old score of exactly a 7 out of 10 with both of these episodes earning a grand old score of exactly a 7 out of 10 from me.

Worzel Gummidge "Choir Practice" Review

Worzel Gummidge is a show that really did capture lightening in a bottle with alot of the people who were involved with making the show believing that the show hit it's stride in it's third series. With the episode that i'm going to be reviewing for you all today being not only one of the more filled episodes of the show but also one of the series most underrated episodes as well and so then join me as I review the episode that sees Worzel Gummidge and Aunt Sally join the Church choir with the episode in question being called simply just "Choir Practice" enjoy.

The plot of the episode is when he's placed in the church's graveyard to scare of some birds Worzel finds out about the Church choir at the same time Aunt Sally joins the church choir just for the free food. Now then inters of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad as it gives us everything that we've come to love film this show at this point in time with the plot of episode being as wonderfully done as alot of the series more better episodes and while this episodes plot isn't as good as it really could have been it's alot better then the plots that we would be getting in Worzel Gummidge Down Under's second series with the plot of this episode also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this episode is Doctor Who star Jon Pertwee as Worzel Gummidge and Jeremy Austin as John Peters. Also starring in this episode is  Charlotte Coleman as Sue Peters , Norman Bird as Mr. Braithwaite , Jonathan Cecil as The Vicar , Mike Berry as Mr. Peters , Thorley Walters as Colonel Bloodstock , Megs Jenkins as Mrs. Braithwaite , Una Stubbs as Aunt Sally , Michael Ripper as Mr. Shepherd.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally tought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty really good. Which is really nothing new for this show as alot of the shows episodes including the ones that aren't so good have always had some really good acting in them and alot of that does come down to the fact the actors in this show are a bunch of really good actors who have a really good director who in turn really does know how to get a good performance out of all of his cast members with really even alot of the side characters in this episode giving us some really good performance in this episode as well as the main characters all of which is something that really does raise the overall quality of the acting that's in this very episode what really helps the acting in this episode is the fact that the script for this episode is just so good that all this episodes have to do is just say the lines as they are written and a good performance will come of them naturally which is something that really does help to raise the overall quality of the acting that's in this episode.

In what was a shocking move for this episode Aunt Sally is basically that of a side character in this episode. With her character not even showing up until about halfway through the story maybe a little bit less then halfway but even when she does show up she basically acts like a ide character which is the best position for this character to have as she really is a truly awful person and forcing her into a main character role like what happens from the fourth series onwards just doesn't work as there are only so many ways that you can show her acting cruel to over people who truly do love Worzel Gummidge before it starts to get old and it starts to loose any and all impact that something like that should have and yet by having her in a much more smaller role akin to that of a recurring character then she can still be a horrible and it doesn't get old and boring and even here when she does act horrible towards Worzel at the end of the episode it still has some impact to it and alot of that s due to the fact that she wasn't in this third series all that much.

On the episodes DVD commentary it was revelled that this episode is actually Jeremy Austin's favorite episode of the show. With it not being that hard to see why it's so good as it does give you all of things that all of the best Worzel Gummidge episodes have from the greatly written characters to the funny set ups and then some it's all there in this episode and while yes this episode could have been alot better then what it was like for example the episode could have done with spending a bit less time at the Church as that setting really added nothing to the episode it still doesn't change the fact that the episode introduced a new location that could have been a great location to use on a more regular basis and it would have been really good if we got to see The Crowman in this episode as seeing him joining in with the Church Choir could have lended itself to some more humours moments and yet for some unknown reason the character isn't featured in the episode at all when this is the type of episode where that type of character would have worked out wonderfully in.

To give this episode alot of credit the idea of having this episode set in the Church is a solid idea as it does lend itself really well to the more gothic settings that this show does sometimes have. With this setting also playing up it's more spooky which while being very kid friendly is the type of things that does work well enough for a character like Worzel Gummidge that the episode itself does kind of get away with it as Worzel himself is basically one big kid but at the same time the Church itself isn't really explored all that well and as a result of that is the fact that the Church itself does feel rather small when it's opposite that's more then likely true and as a result of that is the fact that the setting itself does feel wasted as it serves no real purpose outside of giving the choir a place to rehearse when the village hall also could have filled that function rather well and while the episode would have to explain why the vicar is having them rehearse at the village hall and not at the church that's something that really could have been done with a single line of dialog. 

The episode does drop some plot lines like the fact that we see that Worzel is scared of ghosts something which doesn't really get a pay off in the episode. Nor do we really get any resolution to the fact that Worzel himself is trying to leave the church graveyard because he believes that he doesn't belong there as he's a field scarecrow with this being something that could have been resolved if they had The Crowman in the episode to help to explain it to Worzel why he's being put to work there for the time being and as a result of that is the fact that it would have made the episode feel alot more focused and alot more better then what it already is and yet even tho the makers of this show are usually very good with tieing up lingering plot lines they for some strange reason chose not to do so with this episode which makes this episode feel like it's incomplete or that there are some scenes that would tie up those plotlines and while the episode does give a solid reason for Worzel joining the choir no reason is given as to why Aunt Sally is joining the choir outside of the fact that she wants people to see her in her new white dress and that's really it.

Now then while I cannot for the absolutely life of me remember whatever this episodes grand total running time even was I do know that for a fact that this episode has / had an exact grad total running time of exactly twenty six minuets. Which is pretty much the bogstandard running time for this show to have and to this episodes credit it really does have more then enough there interms of plot to really cover that amount of running time as every single scene in this episode is all about advancing the episodes plot and just making sure the episode itself is just nothing then pure fun something which might have been lost if this episode was a little bit longer as it would be stretching the episodes plot even thinner then what it already is and the episode would need to be filled with an awful lot filler scenes in order to really pad out the episodes running time which combined would make the episode alot less fun to watch but I will admit that this episode really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is comedy that means that I have to actually talk about the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty i in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty really good. With this episode having alot of painfully funny moments in it even the fact that having Mr. Peter being unable to sing is funny because his actor Mike Berry was an actual singer who had a few UK top 10 hit songs under his belt before transitioning to becoming an actor with the best joke in the whole entire being when Worzel starts his first rehearsal he gets into argument with Aunt Sally which they do by singing what it is that there going to do to each other which is really nothing more then pure comedic gold and is a very smart joke to include in this episode as it goes to show you that this shows writer Keith Waterhouse and Willis Hall really do know how to tell a really good joke in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall it's not hard to see why this episode is beloved by one of the episodes actors as it is a really good episode that is a good example of just good this show really could be when it's at it's best but at the same time tho this episode really isn't as good as it really could have been tho in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very episode in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very episode really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly an 8 out of 10 from me.

Mystery Science Theater 3000 "The Mask" Review

Mystery Science Theater has introduced alot of people to alot of really bad movies alot of which would have been lost to the sands of time and forgotten about forever. The film that's covered in the episode that i'm about to review for you all today is no except as when this episode was first coming out the film that features in it was largely forgotten about with alot of people not really even knowing that this film was even thing in the first place and while this episode didn't really fix that it has somewhat slowed it down and so then join me as I review the episode that is the shows first ever halloween special with the episode in question being called simply just "The Mask" enjoy.

The plot of this episode is Jonah and the bots celebrate halloween and have to try and survive the latest bad movie to be thrown at them from Kinga and max. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot thats actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty good but at the same time this episodes plot was also on the thin side of things which s a common thing for this show as more often then not unless it's a really important episode then the shows host segments don't really ave much in the ways of a plot and even in this most recent season there was very little there interms of plot in it's episode with this episode being a prime example of that as it's basically a special holiday themed episode and nothing really all the more then that with the plot of this episode also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Also starring in this episode is Baron Vaughn as The Voice Of Tom Servo , Felicia Day as Kinga Forrester , this episodes co-writer Patton Oswalt as Max , this episodes co-writer Rebecca Hanson as The Voice Of GPC and Mrs. Kelly , Yvonne Freese as The Skull , the shows creator Joel Hodgson as Ardy , Ivan Askwith as Bonesy and Sharyl Volpe as The Voice Of Magic Voice.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acing that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad. With all of the episodes doing the est that they can do with what little that they've been given to work with as there's not really much there interms of plot for the cast to sink there teeth into and turn in that good of a performance and while the voice actors in this episode are indeed the true standouts of this episode it's the acting of the live action cast that do somewhat let the quality of the acting down a little bit just due to the fact that not alot of them have that much to do and those that do have alot just turn in average performances with the acting in this episode not really being helped by the fact that the script for this episode isn't really all that good as the script for this episode doesn't really give the cast a whole lot of two work with interms of what it is that there respective characters personalities are even meant to be in the first place which is something that really does bring down the overall quality of the acting that's in this episode.

As was stated at the start of this review this is the shows first ever Halloween special in the shows history. With the episode really embracing the halloween holiday with Jonah and the bots even going trick or treating complete with costumes which was a nice little touch as was the fact that the villains headquarters is filled to the brim with spider webs which they do explain away in the show in a way that does make sense but at the same time it does go along way to showing us that the makers of this episode are quite clearly having fun with this episode and celebrating the fact that it's halloween and given the amount of bad horror movies out there it makes you wonder why this show hasn't tackled any of them before now as the show really could have fun with alot of the cheesy movies from the seventies and alot of the Full Moon Features films and heck they even could have taken on some of the films from Troma Entertainment as well as all of the films from both of those studios are perfect films for this show to take on.

The film that's the main focus of this episode is of course the 1961 Canadian surrealist horror film The Mask. With the film pretty much being shown in it's entirety with there not being edited down and as a result of that we the audience get to see just how strange and weird that this film is and while the team behind this episode do make the obvious jokes of making references to the Jim Carrey film of the same name they don't really mention just how stranger and weird that this film is which is something that they really could have done as they could have gotten alot of jokes just from how strange and weird that this film was and while they do point out the fact that they don't need anyone to tell us when the film is in 3D as yes this film was a 3D film it's not something that was needed as scenes like that would most likely appear in alot of films as alot of people wouldn't know what 3D is when it comes to feature length films but what they could have done is called out just how weird and strange that this film gets as the films gets weird quickly and it only gets weirder.

In a rather odd move is that there are technically two different versions of this episode available with one being in 3D for the scenes in the film are in 3D and one that's just in standard 2D. This was a rather odd move as it basically means having to film to different versions of the scenes in the theater and editing two different versions of the episodes which would take alot of work to do and it's rather odd that the makers of this episode would do that as there's nothing really new that they could joke about in the 3D version that's in the 2D version but at the same time given that the makers of this episode now aren't bound to whatever it is that whatever network or streamer that there airing on wants them to do and as a result of that is the fact that they can now do alot of the things that they couldn't do in both seasons eleven and twelve of the show and in this case that means producing essentially two different cuts of the same episode and releasing them both at the exact same time on there very own streaming service The Gizmoplex. 

To get back to all of the good things in this episode all of this episodes host segments are some really fun parts of the episode. With the cast quite clearly having a blast in all f those segments and just going with and embracing the pure madness of this film with them even showing what trick or treating might be like for Jonah and the bots in this episode which does lead to the most fun and possibly even funniest part of the non theater segments of this episode with even Max getting in on the costume fun which does go to show you that even tho he's a villain on the show he's still like all of us a big kid at heart but on the flip side of the of is the fact that alot of the host segments in this episode don't really go into that much detail on the Halloween holiday with alot of them just basically covering the same stuff that you'd expect a kid to know about Halloween which does in someways make sense as Jonah most likely doesn't know all that much about Halloween but it still would have been nice to see them explain some of the other halloween traditions and not just the most popular one.

Now then this episode has / had an exact grand total running time of one hour and thirty four minuets and fifty four seconds. Which is the bogstandard running time for this show to have and to this episodes while it doesn't alot of plot there to really cover that large amount of running time it does make the best use of that running time by giving us alot of the shows signature host segments alot of which are all really fairly entertaining and by giving us alot of host segments alot of the characters alot of really funny scenes alot of which would have most likely have been pushed to the side to make room for the plot which in away does make sense as well but this is a comedy and there for the focus should be more fifty fifty and thankfully that's not really an issue for this episode tho this is despite the fact that the episode had more then enough running time there to justify pushing the seasons plot of the now three hosts planning to make an escape but I will admit that this episode really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is a comedy that means that I have to actually talk about the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty really good. With the episode having alot of really funny moments alot of which do come from the episodes host segments as we get to see the characters just having fun like at the start of the episode we see Jonah , Crow , Tom and GPC telling each other scary stories but because they could have to end the story at any second there only telling each other the end of the story which is really a funny joke as is the fact that nobody really gets that Jonah's costume is that of actor Tom Atkins which is funny but it's also something that gets old really quickly but alot of the shows best jokes do really come from the jokes that Jonah and the bots make about the movie in the theater in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this was a really decent episode of the show as it does give what is basically a forgotten horror film the chance to become a cult classic and it is fun seeing the Mystery Science Theater 3000 characters celebrate halloween in the only way that they know how and that is something that really does make this episode really fun to watch in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all f the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very episode in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very episode really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 7 out of 10 from me.

Star Wars: Tales Of The Empire TV Series SPOILER FREE TV Series Review

Today is a good day as this review is actually being written on Star Wars Day aka May 4th and as a way to celebrate this day Disney+ have dropped all six episodes of there new Star Wars animated series. With this series literally being a sequel series to Star Wars: Tales Of The Jedi with this show giving us alot more focus on a side of the force that doesn't really get alot of focus in terms of Star Wars media and so then join me as I give you my SPOILER FREE review of the TV series that gives us a look at a different side of the force with the TV series in in question being called simply just "Star Wars: Tales Of The Empire" enjoy.

This show doesn't really have a plot at least not in the obvious sense as while there is no story being told. What the show does do to tell a story is pretty much split the series right down the middle with the first half of the series focusing on someone falling to the dark side but becoming consumed by it where as the second half of the series sees someone fall to the dark side but get saved from being consumed by it which is an interesting story to tell as it's one that really hasn't been told all that much in Star Wars media let alone an interesting way to tell it as the two half formular does allow the story to be told at a more organic pace and the story itself is one that's really interesting and is really rewarding if you've seen alot of Star Wars media but at the same time if your only exposure to Star Wars is really the movies then your going to be lost alot of the time with the plot of this season being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this show is Matthew Wood as General Grievous Lydia Look as Matron and Cathy Ang as Morgan Elsbeth. Also starring in this show is  Daisy Lightfoot as Nali , Diana Lee Inosanto as Selena , Lars Mikkelsen as Admiral Thrawn , Xander Berkeley as Gilad Pellaeon , Tom Konkle as Moff Isdain and Villager 1 , Diana Lee Inosanto as Morgan Elsbeth , Warwick Davis as Rukh , Katee Sackhoff as Bo-Katan Kryze , Shelby Young as Nadura , Wing T. Chao as Wing , Zeno Robinson as Ahmar , Meredith Salenger as Barriss Offee , Dee Bradley Baker as A Clone Trooper , Nicolas Cantu as Dante , Rya Kihlstedt as Lyn Rakish , Keith Ferguson as Governor , Ry Chase as The Jedi , Jordyn Curet as Young Girl , Steve Blum as Attendant 1, New Republic Guard and Reggi , Anna Graves as Attendant 2 , Keston John as Father , Suzie McGrath as Mother and Witch 1 and Jason Isaacs as The Grand Inquisitor.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very show well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very show was in all honesty not that bad. However that's sadly also the problem as alot of the acting in this show isn't that good as while the acting in some episodes is OK the acting in alot more of the episodes is just bad with the actors turning in what can only be described as wooden at best as while the actors that you do expect a good performance from like for example Jason Isaacs really do deliver performance wise it's the actors from the likes of Rya Kihlstedt is at best wooden and that is something that really does bring down the overall quality of the acting in this show with the acting that's in this show not really being helped by the fact that the scripts for this show just aren't that good as they give none of the cast absolutely nothing to work with interms of what it is that there respective characters personalities are even meant to he in the first place with that also being what really brings down the overall quality of the acting that's in this show.

Doing the animation for this show is the legends and the greats that are currently over at Lucasfilm Animation. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very show well then n all honesty i in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very show was in all honesty really good with the animation in this show being on par with the animation in alot of the other Star Wars 3D animated shows in terms of quality which really isn't all that surprising given who is working on this show as Lucasfilm Animation have always produced some really good animation and this show is no different as the animation in this show is so close to being movie quality as it's just that good and it goes to show you that if you give somebody some decent amount of money then they'll produce some really high quality animation with this show being a prime and a really good example of that.

To this shows credit it does try to do something new by showing us what life is like for people who choose to become a sith. However the show doesn't go all the way with that idea as the show only has six episodes and is an anthology series and as a result the show can't really delve into what it truly means to be a sith lord this is despite the fact that the first three episodes of the show are all named after what leads to someone becoming a sith and as a result this good idea gets wasted and lost as it can't really be fully developed and instead comes across as being window dressing when it really should have been the main focus of the series as it really is the most interesting part of the show and yet because of the fact that the show wastes that idea it just can't be as fully realised as it really should have been this is despite the fact that the previous series Tales Of The Jedi went into great detail showing us what it truly means to be a jedi and yet this series despite sharing the exact same creative team really doesn't do that for the dark side of the force.

This show does come across as being the weaker of the two shows just because of the fact that alot of the stories in this batch of episodes and alot of the characters in this batch of episodes aren't as strong nor as memorable as those in the first batch of episodes. This is of course no fault of the makers of this show as the previous show mainly used characters that were created in other shows and movies and just had them appear in there in there show where in this show there mostly using original characters and as a result of that they don't have the time to make them as memorable as the characters that showed up in Tales Of The Jedi and while the makers of the show could really help with the weaker characters what they could have done is given them stronger plots as alot of the plots in this show just aren't as good as the plots from the previous show with the plots of this show coming across as being very weak at best which is fine if the show was being for very little kids but it's not it's being made with a more mature audience in mind and as a result of that change in target audience the makers of the show should have given this batch of episodes some more stronger plots.

To give Disney and Lucasfilm some credit releasing this show on May the 4th was the best thing that they could have done. As alot of people are going to be talking about and thinking and watching Star Wars and giving them new content to watch on a day when there going to be thinking about Star Wars does make alot of sense as does releasing this show on the weekend but at the same time this does also work against the show as well as not alot of people are going to want to watch something new from Star Wars when they could be watching something that they know that there going to love from a franchise that they already love and while releasing this show on a weekend does make sense as it means that people can have the entire weekend to binge watch the entire show that again also works against the show as well as there's going to be so much content released about Star Wars that this show is going to get lost in the shuffle at best and at worst due to the shows lackluster marketing people just won't know that this show is even a thing in the first place.

Now then this show really has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour and thirty minuets. With each episode not really being longer then fifteen minuets which is something that both works for an against this show it works for this show as it means that all of the episodes plots have to be laser focused and every scene of every episode has to be about pushing the plot forward but at the same time it works against the show because it means that at times the plot does feel rushed because it has to get to the next plot point when it would have been better if the plot took it's time and arrived there at a more natural pace and alot of the time the characters cant' be as fully developed either because of that shorter running time and while having a shorter running time would work for this show as the first season already proved that doesn't mean that it works well enough for this season of the show either but I will admit that this show does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this an action show that really does mean that I have to actually talk a bout the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very show well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very show was in all honesty not that bad. As the show does have some really good action in alot of it's episodes but again due to the episodes having this really short running time alot of the action does feel rushed and more often then not comes out of nowhere and as a result of that is the fact that while we do yes get some really moments in this show various action scenes we the audience we the audience just don't really care about them as the show hasn't given us a reason to care about this shows characters this is despite the fact that the action that we got in this show was really good and was filled to the brim with some really cool moments in all of this shows various action scenes in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall while the Tales series is a really good series this particular series is by far the weaker of the two seasons with Tales Of The Jedi being the better of the two series this is despite the fact that this series is a really good series in it's own right and has some really good animation in it in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very show in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very show really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 6.5 out of 10 from me.

Doctor Who: The Reign Of Terror Review

Doctor Who has had many important episodes over it's sixty year run with some coming as recent as just this past year. However the episode itself whilst not important in any meaningful way does include alot of firsts for the series with of those firsts really being that this is the shows first ever series finale and so then join me as I review the episode that saw the first ever series of Doctor Who go out on a really high note and with a bang with the episode in question being called simply just "The Reign Of Terror" enjoy.

The plot of this episode is that when The Doctor , Ian , Barbera and Susan land in France during the French Revolution they must find away to save themselves before they are killed. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot thats actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty really good with the plot of the episode being really high up there interms of Doctor Who plots as that's really just how good the plot of this episode really was as the plot of this episode does a good job of keeping you guessing about what's going to happens next and as a result it does make the plot come across as being a really well written plot which given who is writing this episode really isn't all that surprising at all with the plot of this episode of episode also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Also starring in this episode is Carole Ann Ford as Susan Foreman , Keith Anderson as Robespierre , Jack Cunningham as The Jailer , Jeffry Wickham as Webster , Neville Smith as D'Argenson , Laidlaw Dalling as Rouvray , Peter Walker as The Small Boy , James Cairncross as Lemaitre , Roy Herrick as Jean , Donald Morley as Jules Renan , Tony Wall as Napoléon Bonaparte , Caroline Hunt as Danielle , Edward Brayshaw as Léon Colbert  , Santa Claus: The Movie star John Barrard as The Shopkeeper and John Law as Paul Barras.

Now the  interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / resented to us in this very episode was in all honesty really good. Which is really nothing new for this show as the show in this early batch of episodes always had some really good acting in ti with this episode of course being no exception to this rule as all of the actors in this episode really do turn in some really wonderful performances with the same thing also being true for the episodes cast who more then hold there own when it comes to acting against the series main cast with the acting in this episode really being helped by the fact that the script for this episode is just so good that all this episodes cast have to do is just say the lies as they are written and a good performance will come out of them naturally which is something that really does help the overall quality of the acting that's in this episode.

Doing the animation for this episode is the legends and the greats that are currently over at Theta Sigma. Now the interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual animation that's actually featured / resented to us in this very episode was in all honesty really good. However despite the episode episode having some really good high quality animation in the stories two missing episodes the animation in this episode is also really filled to the brim with alot of cuts which is something that does get annoying really quickly and alot of the characters are given this plastic look which really just makes them look rather odd and really weird this despite the fact that the movements on the characters were really good and really fluid as well with there being alot of detail in each and every single frame of animation and as a result while the quality of the animation in this episode is indeed really high there are alot of things in this episodes animation that also make it come across as also being really off putting as well.

This episode actually features a ton of firsts for the show like the first time that a child actor speaks on the show and the first script to be written by Dennis Spooner. However most importantly is the fact that this episode actually features the first time that the Doctor Who production team actually did some on location filming and while the location filming doesn't feature any of the main cast as it's Brian Proudfoot stood in for William Hartnell during those scenes and while those scenes are incredibly short it does add alot of production value to the show as nothing will ever beat filming on location and while the locations chosen filming aren't really all that impressive at all the very fact that they went on location in the first place is truly something to behold as it does cost alot of money to film on location and the very fact that the BBC approved location filming for a show that hadn't even finished it's first series yet really does show you just how much faith that they had in the show at the time.

One of the major issues that this episode does have is the fact that the film footage episode three really wasn't looked after. As the film footage with Ian is pretty much close to being unwatchable as there are alot of grain in that film footage plus many other things which is of course no fault of the BBC as the episode was lost for many years but they should have gone to some length to trying to repair the episode as a whole when uploading them to BBCIPlayer or when it came to the 2013 DVD as that footage is key to that part of the story and alot of the time that footage is borderline unwatchable and it's something that you can't really miss because if you did then you'd be left wondering how Ian escaped from the French prison in the first place but with that issue aside there are other issues to be found in this episode like the fact that alot of the guest characters do come across as being rather one dimensional characters and aren't as interesting as they really should have been given the fact that this episode is a historical episode that's based on a real event. 

To say that this episode goes to to some dark places is a huge understatement as not only does one of the episodes cliffhangers have Barbera and Susan get taken away to be be-headed by guillotine. There's also a cliffhanger where The Doctor almost dies in a fire and The Doctor himself just straight up knocks a guy out with this more darker version of the show being truly shocking to see especially if your used to things being a lot more lighter in tone and heck even the main characters do find themselves "loosing" quite alot of the time and it's not until the final two episodes where things start to turn around for our characters and while having a more darker Doctor Who story does indeed work for this story it's something that would also get old and depressing really quickly if it was something that happened all the time and even then it only works for this story given the fact that ti's taking during the French Revolution which was a notoriously dark time in France's history and as a result having a much more darker story in this time period is a really fitting thing to have in this episodes plot.

Now then while I cannot for the absolutely life of me remember what this episodes grand total running time even was I do know that this episode has / had a rough grand total running time of roughly two hours and thirty thirty minuets. With this episode being six episodes long with episodes four and five being fully animated episodes with this episode count being the perfect amount of episodes for this story to have as the story doesn't have alot of there interms of plot to really cover anything really longer then that and if the story was given a short episode count yes it would really have alot more of a focused plot but it would also mean missing out some really good character stuff as well and it would also mean that the story as a whole would also really run the risk of being butchered as well which would go a really long way to make this episode a really bad episode where as as it is this is a really good episodes thanks to it's running time but I will admit that this episode really does gave some really good pacing to it tho. 

So now then as this is  a action show that means that I have to actually talk about the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action thats actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad. As sixties Doctor Who really wasn't known for having good action in it and while that is also true for this episode as well the action that we do get in this episode was really good as added to the story and was also really exciting to see as we got to see the characters do whatever it takes just to get out of whatever situation that there in and while we don't get to see anything to over the top which does make sense given that Doctor Who was made on a really small budget and as such couldn't really do all that much action wise what they do get to do action wise do also work really well in the context of the episode and was also really exciting to see as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall it's not hard to see why alot of people really do like this episode as the episode really does have alot of really good things going for it however sadly it's things like the cuts in the animation that bring down the episodes quality down by quite alot along with alot of other things also mentioned in this review as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then  i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very episode in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very episode really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly an 8 out of 10 from me.
