Blood-C "O Ye Winds Of Heaven" Review

There are alot of anime out there that alot of people talk about but sadly for all of those popular anime there are several more that despite being really good shows just aren't talked about as much as they really should be. With the episode that i'm going to be talking about today being one such a case as this anime is even talked about by even the most ardent of anime fans let alone the mainstream audience that shows like Attack On Titan on Pokemon have broken through to and so then join me as I review the review the first episode that is more fun then what it really had any right to be with the episode in question being called simply just ""O Ye Winds Of Heaven" enjoy.

The plot of this episode is young shrine maiden Saya Kisaragi is tasked with protecting her small village town from monsters but something bigger and more threatening lurks within the village. Now then interms of what Impersonally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad as it does a good job of setting up the threat of the episode but at the same time it's also not that good either as the plot of this episode is also on really rather weak as well with it being incredibly difficult to work what the actual plot of this episode is even meant to be at the best of times but this episode really does have some really good pacing it it as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this episode is Alexis Tipton as Saya Kisaragi , Lindsay Seidel as Nene and Nono Motoe and Robert McCollum as Fumito Nanahara. Also starring in this episode is Bill Jenkins as Tadayoshi Kisaragi Lydia Mackay as Kanako Tsutsutori , Todd Haberkorn as Dog Martha Harms as Yuka Amino , Chris Burnett as Itsuki Tomofusa , Scott Freeman as Shinichiro Tokizane and Fairy Tail star Tia Ballard as Hitomi.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad. Which really isn't all that surprising given that alot of this episodes cast is made up a bunch of really good voice actors all of whom know how to turn in a good performance and all of whom do turn in a really rather solid performance in this episode but at the same time tho the acting in this episode isn't as good as it really should have been which is understandable as the cast are still trying to find there characters with the script for this episode not really helping the acting out at all as the script for this episode is just so bad as it gives none of the episodes cast much to work with interms of what it is that there respective characters personality is even meant to he in the first place which really does hurt the overall quality of the acting in this episode.

Doing the animation for this episode is the legends and the greats that are currently over at Production I.G. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad which is to be expected from an early 2010's TV series anime but at the same time given that this is Production I.G the animation in this episode should have been alot better as while the animation in this episode isn't bad by any stretch of the imagination but with this animation studio you expect great animation in every single project that they do just because of there name alone and yet to see one of their projects that doesn't have that good of an animation does feel like it's a bit of a let down.

This episode is a good example of how to a strong female character as Saya Kisaragi is a strong female character. As she's a character that has alot of flaws like the fact that she's bit of a goof ball and is very clumsy both of which are things that get her into trouble and while they don't get her into that much trouble they are still things that she has to overcome with her character not being presented as someone who is perfect at everything like alot of modern Hollywood versions of "strong female characters" are as Saya is an interesting character who has to learn and to grow from the mistakes that she not only makes in this episode but also in future episodes of this show as well as when things do get worse alot of our her faults like her overly trusting nature do come into play and knowing how the rest of the show goes that is also a massive flaw as she just believes everything that she's told and is willing to trust anyone just because they seem like a good person.

While there are alot of good things to be found in this episode there are some issues to be found in this episode. Like the fact that not alot of the episodes get alot of screen time and thus can't start to form much of a personality which does make sense given that this is a TV series but given that this is short TV series it is something that should have been fixed and the other major issue is the fact that the show and films main villain also isn't set up either with alot of the episode being dedicated to Saya Kisaragi just going about her day to day life which does make sense as she is the main hero of the show but at the same time given that the show is only twelve episodes long there really should have been some of the episodes running time really being dedicated to setting up the villain and setting up the mystery of who the villain is both of which would go along way into making the villain alot more memorable character.

To be fair to this show alot of this shows side characters are just memorable if not more memorable then the main characters. As just from this episode alone we get to see alot of really funny and sometimes even borderline cute moments all of which feature the shows side characters and it shows us that the show isn't afraid to be funny as that is something that would make us the audience truly care for the characters and make us want to see more of them as they do seem like a bunch of really likable characters with the best example of this being Nene and Nono as they really do get alot of the episodes best and most funniest lines and while we don't get much of a personality from either of them in this episode that does make sense given that there not the main character what screen time we do get from them is surfed in making us like them as characters.

Now then while I cannot for the absolutely life of me remember whatever this episodes running time even was I do know that for a fact that this episode has / had an exact grand total running time of roughly twenty four minuets. Which is pretty much the bogstanderd running time for alot of TV anime series to have to have and while this episode doesn't really take full advantage of this running time as there are alot of stuff that's not included that would have helped the episode like the fact that we don't get to see Saya training to ultimately kill the monster nor do we see her taking the time to catch her breath after the fight which would show us that this was a tough fight for her this episode does have more then enough plot to really cover that amount of running time and while the episode would have been better if the episode had a longer running time as it would have allowed more of the side characters some time to shine and fix some of the episodes issues it also would have stretched this episodes plot even thinner then what it already is but I will admit that this episode really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is an action show that means that I have to actually talk about the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad. As we do get to see some really good action in this episode with the episodes action doing a good job of showing us just how good of a fighter that Saya Kisaragi is instead of just telling us that she's a shockingly really good fighter and not telling us all of that which is a good form of storytelling and while we do really get only the one action scene in this episode it's a solid action given that the creature that she's fighting is really made of stone thus can't really do all that much in the first place it is still a really rather solid action scene in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this was a really solid episode to a really solid anime with this episode does a good job of not only being a fun watch but also giving us a really likable main character that we want to really see alot more of in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as as all of the bad things that are in this very episode in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very episode really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 6.5 out of 10 from me.

Sonny With A Chance "Sketchy Beginnings" Review

Disney Channel used to produce alot of shows in the past and while the network is kind of gone now thanks to Disney+ alot of there shows are on there for us all to watch and hopefully enjoy. With this also hopefully bringing in newer viewers that those shows didn't get the first time out and given that alot of those shows now have big names starring in them it will also get alot of the older fans to remember about those stars as well with this one being the long list of forgotten shows that also happen to have a now big name star starring in it and so then join me as I review the episode that tries and fails to do sketch comedy but just can;t with the episode in question being called simply just "Sketchy Beginnings" enjoy.

The plot of this episode is when new girl Sonny Munroe gets a job on her favorite sketch comedy she discovers that the show has a queen bee who she must content with on her first show. Now then  interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad but at the same time tho the plot of this wasn't all that good either with the plot of the episode being a very predictable plot line where the solution is also something that can seen a mile away which does make the plot of this seem like a very formulaic plot and not something that's all that new , creative and different but I really will admit that the plot of this really very entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. 

Starring in this episode Camp Rock franchise star Demi Lovato as Sonny Munroe and Tiffany Thornton as Tawni Hart. Also starring in this episode is Rise Of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles star Brandon Mychal Smith as Nico Harris , Doug Brochu as Grady Mitchell , Jake And The Never Land Pirates Allisyn Ashley Arm as Zora Lancaster , Nancy McKeon as Connie Munroe and Michael Kostroff as Marshall Pike.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad. However at the same time tho the acting in this episode is just the stereotypical Disney Channel type of acting and nothing all the more then that this is of course of no fault of the episodes cast as there really being told to act a certain but there should have been alot more effort to make the acting in this debut episode alot better as this is first chance that people are really getting to see this show and yet the acting in this episode really just isn't that good with the acting in this episode not really being helped by the fact that the episodes script is just so bad as it doesn't give alot of the episodes cast much to work with interms of what it is that there respective characters personalities even are in the first place as this episode script is just that average at best.

To give this episode some credit it does get across what all of the characters are like just in this first episode alone. However the characters remain the exact same all throughout the show which granted isn't a fault with this episode but it is something that started with this episode as both Sonny and Tawni don't grow as characters by the end of this episode infact Sonny ends up winning this is despite her knowing that she hurt Tawni and made her feel insecure and it's the same thing all throughout the show as the characters never learn anything and never grow as characters but at the same time tho not all shows need to have deep character development as sometimes just being a dumb show is more then enough and that's exactly what this show is and that's something that works well for this show and it's something that this show excels in being as it knows fully what it is and isn't afraid to be a dumb kids show.

Not only did this episode gets alot of the characters down perfectly in this episode but it also got down alot of the characters dynamics down as well. With the all of the character dynamics that you see later on in the show being set up and started in this episode and while the character dynamics in Disney Channel shows don'y usually change just due to the stand alone format that Disney Channel shows had at the time it still would have been nice to see those dynamics grow and change over the course of the series as that would show that the characters are evolving and are going from workmates to friends instead of just keeping them in this one place where this one character has to act this way around this one person every single episode which is something that could have gotten old very quickly in this series.

This show really doesn't get the whole TV show format down at all let alone a sketch comedy TV show as according to this show each sketch comedy is broadcast live which if you know any show you'd know that that isn't the case. With this being an issue as one of this shows executive producers Brian Robbins created All That which is perhaps the most successful kids sketch comedy TV show of all time and yet this one episode gets it all wrong as the shows would have been filmed weeks or months in advance and not done the day of as was strongly implied in this episode with this show slightly getting right how they choose what sketches go into the final episode but at the same time these sketch comedy don't have the cast come up with idea during the week of rehearsals as they have a writers room coming up with ideas all of the time and while yes it is understandable that this episode cut that out to make it easier for the kid audience as it's Hollywood basically telling us how a show is made it's also not how a show is actually made at the same time. 

For some reason this episode ditches an actually funny sketch with the Bumbling Bee sketch with the awful One Bad Bee sketch.Which isn't even funny as all it is just the characters barring Tawni doing a bad rap song that isn't even funny where as the Bumbling Bee sketch was not only funny it also could have been used to resolve the plot line between Sonny and Tawni as Tawni cold have realized that while yes she was insecure for alot of the episode but Sonny's sketch was actually funny and Sonny could have realized how Tawni was feeling and the two could have worked together to create something that is not only funny which is the point of a sketch comedy show but it also could have made Tawni feel alot better about herself whereas the One Bad Bee which hints at Tawni several times in a negative light just does none of that and is there just so that the episode can have a really bad rap song in it's opening episode and really nothing all the more then that.

Now then this episode has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly twenty two minuets and fifty seven seconds. Which is the perfect running time for this episode to have and is pretty much the bogstanderd running time for this show to have as well as this opening first really doesn't have a whole lot there interms plot as the plot is paper thin at best but at the same time tho if this episode was longer it could have been used to fully develop all of it's main characters which would have only worked well enough in the episodes favor as it would have allowed for us the audience to form a connection with the characters but on the flip side of that is the fact that this episodes plot is wafer thin and that by making the episode longer it would be stretching an already thin plot even thinner but I will admit that this episode really does gave some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is a comedy that means that I have to actually talk about the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad. As the actors do get away with having some really facial expressions which do make alot of the episodes really lame jokes seem funny as what's funny isn't what's being said it's rather how the characters are reacting to it which is what makes the joke funny but on the flip side of that is the fact that alot of this episodes just aren't this funny and while yes this shows target audience might find this funny if your really not apart of this shows target audience then there's not really a whole lot that's really all that funny to be found in this very episode in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall it's not hard to see why this show has largely been forgotten about as aside from the fact that Demi Lovato is starring in this show there's nothing that's all that memorable about this episode in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very episode in this very review and as such that means that this very episode really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 5.5 out of 10 from me.

My First Impressions Of The Shōgun 2024 TV Series

History is something that has always made for fascinating television as alot of historical events are epic enough to be made into a TV show. However this show dares to ask the question of what if they adapted one book whilst really at the exact same time also ripping of Game Of Thrones and well what we got does add up to a really very mixed bag of affairs and so then join me as I give you my first impressions of the show that rips of Game Of Thrones with the show in question being called simply just "Shōgun" enjoy.

The plot of this episode is when a sailor is taken prisoner and one his crew are killed he must find away to survive and gain power all for himself. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in al honesty not that bad but at the same time the plot of this episode wasn't all that good either with the plot of this episode being really weak at best as it was hard to work out what the actual plot of the episode was and while the episode does indeed do a good job of setting up the plot of the show it doesn't do a good job of telling a decent plot for the episode which is something that should have been just as a much a focus as setting up the plot for the show but the plot of this episode was really entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty really good. With all of the episodes cast turning in some really good performances and heck the acting in this episode is so good that it's hard to say who turned in the best performance as everybody in this episode is just so good with there not being a standout performer because the whole cast is the standout performer which is something that on paper shouldn't be the case with this episode as this episodes cast is made up of mostly unknown or very little known actors and as such to expect a good performance out of them would be a mistake and yet that's exactly what we get in this episode with the acting in this episode really being helped by the fact that the episodes script is just so good that all the episodes cast have to do is just say the lines as they are written and a good performance will come out of them naturally.

Doing the CGI for this episode is the legends and the greats that are currently over at Important Looking Pirates and Lindala Schminken FX. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad as it was used in a way that CGI should be used and that's to extend what's already there on set but at the same time tho the episodes CGI wasn't really all that good either as it did look really cheap looking with it being really painfully obvious when they were using CGI as opposed to whenever they were really doing something practically which is something that really does make the CGI in this episode look alot more worse then what it really should have been like.

For those of you who don't know this show is an adaptation of the 1975 novel of the same name and was written by author James Clavell. With this being only the second time that the book has been adapted into a TV show with the only previous adaptation being the 1980 nine hour TV show mini-series of the exact name and while it's hard to say if this show is more faithful of the books given that the previous TV show adaptation had the books original involved it does make the original TV show more faithful as the author would of course want his work to be translated as faithfully as possible but at the same time that's hard to say for sure as the original miniseries in nine hours long and I have no interest in either reading the original book nor watching the original show but just based of this one episode alone it does seem like this show will be just as faithful to the original source material as the original miniseries was.

This episode feels like a Game Of Thrones ripoff as there are alot of things that were in that show that also reappear in this show. With both shows having political intrigue , a pointless s*x scene and lots of blood and guts with both shows also having some really gruesome death scenes as well the only difference being is that Game Of Thrones had alot more likable characters all introduced and set up in there first episode where as in this episode it was hard to tell who the good guy was even meant to be as alot of the characters are made to be really unlikable in places but then they would go and do something that would make you question if they are likable people or not which yes does make them more complex but at the same time it also makes it harder to get a read on them as a character which does have the add on effect of making it harder for us the audience to form a connection with any of these characters as there both really likable and really unlikable as well. 

In a rather bold move FX and Hulu released the first two episodes of this show which judging by the reviews is going to pay off for them. However given that the first episode has alot of scenes that make it feel boring it is also something that could have backfired for them as this is something that not alot of people would have heard of and as a result of that they really wouldn't watch to episodes of something if there not all that familiar with it but on the flip of side of that is the fact that it does show that they had alot of faith in the show that they wanted to get more viewers watching your show if your airing more then one episode a week and while yes airing one episode a week does really have it's advantages as it does allow you to build up hype for the next episode it also has it's downsides as it means that people might just watch this first episode and really not watch episode two for whatever reason but in this case it is something that is quite clearly working really well enough for this show as well and really to this shows advantage as well.

Now then this episode has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour and ten minuets and eighteen seconds. Which is alot longer then what this episode really needed to be as this episode really doesn't have alot of plot to cover that large amount of running time as the episodes plot is weak at best and as a result this episode really didn't need to be that long as alot of the episode is spent with the characters just going about there day to day lives with nothing all that interesting happening for the most part and there's only so long that you can see that happening before it gets which does happen in this episode but it doesn't happen quickly as the episode does have some exciting moments in it just not enough to really justify it's nearly feature length film running time but I will admit that this film really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is a drama that means that I have to actually talk about the actual drama that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual drama that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad. As alot of the drama does feel very character driven the issue with that is the fact this is only the first episode and as such it's hard to really get a handle on who these characters are personality wise which means that for all we the audience really know these characters could be acting out of character in those moments but when we do get a really good bit of drama it is worth watching as it does create a really good scene in the episode that is also nine times out of ten really one of the best bits in the episode as whole as it's just that good from both a writing , acting and directing point of view in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this wasn't a bad first episode but at the same time it also gives you no reason to watch episode two and while there might be some people who really like this show this isn't a show can really hold alot of people's interesting for there nearly hour long running time for each episode in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very episode in this post and as this is only my first impressions I won't give this show a rating as any show can have a good or bad first episode but if this review does well enough then I might be tempted into checking out episode two which would then be a review.

K.C. Undercover "Pilot" Review

Disney Channel back in the day was filled to the brim with top notch programming be it either animated or live action. However there were also alot of shows and movies that have sadly been forgotten about for whatever reason and it's one of those shows that i'm going to be talking about and so then join me as I review the episode of a show that alot of people have really forgotten about with the episode in question being called simply just "Pilot" enjoy.

The plot of this episode is when she finds out that her parents are actually spies sixteen year old K.C. Cooper is recruited to help them on a mission that could have dire consequences for mobile phones everywhere. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in a; honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad as it was a good enough plot for a Disney Channel TV show but at the exact same time this episodes plot wasn't all that good as it was a really rather thinly drawn out plot that really does take quite awhile for it to really get going but when it does get going it is a solid plot for the most part with this episodes plot being really rather entertaining and as well as being really engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Also starring in this episode is Kamil McFadden as Ernie Cooper , Tammy Townsend as Kira Cooper , Kadeem Hardison as Craig Cooper , Tony Cavalero as Agent Wally , Ashley Fink as Reena , Chris Brewster as The Target , Ashlee Füss as Juli , Trevor Jackson as Lincoln , Jack DePew as Ryan and Larry Udy as The Janitor.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad for the most part. As it is the type of acting that you'd expect to see in a Disney Channel show but at the same time it's also quite clearly not that good especially when you compare it to what the cast have been in recently and there for you know that they really can act and yet that makes all the more sad when in this episode you see them not being able to make this episodes script work for them with the acting in this episode not really being helped by the fact that the episodes isn't really that good with this episodes script not really giving the cast a whole lot to work with interms of what it is that there respective characters personalities are even meant to be in the first place.

To be frank it was hard to tell how they shot alot of this episode while the episode does use a mixture of in studio and on location filming the episode also does some really cool camera moves in what looks like a scene that shot in studio. With the example of this being the warehouse  scene where the camera moves up from the ground to the first floor which is something that wouldn't have been possible to do in studio as you'd have to fit in the set and the audience which would make a camera move like that next to impossible to do and yet at the same time tho the scene looks like that it was shot in a studio all of which make it hard to tell how this scene was filmed as it was just such a cool scene in the finished episode that also would have been a pain to film in a studio even without the audience being there on the day of filming it.

Just to be frank both Kira Cooper and Craig Cooper are not good parents as they very frequently forget about there son. With them also being willing to put there teenage daughter into a dangerous situation and then they make her feel bad when she says that she doesn't want that pressure all of which adds up to them being pretty bad parents and that's just the tip of the iceberg as there's more evidence just in this one episode alone with these two being bad parents and while they might improve over the course of these series you only have once chance to make a good first impression and when that first impression isn't a good one that's all they'll be remembered for being and that's not to mention that them forgetting about there son several times in this episode including his own birthday is played for laughs and while yes this is a sitcom and as result there's always going to be that small amount of fantasy in there given that this is a Disney it would have worked better if they were presented as actual good parents instead of bad parents.

It is easy to see why this show has largely been forgotten as there's nothing all that special about this episode. With the episode being a very forgettable episode as outside of the cool looking camera moves and the fight scenes this episode just feels like a lame attempt to do an actually good Disney Channel Original Series as it lacks alot of the things that all f there good shows had a heck even the central subplot between the two friends is a carbon copy of that of the central plotline from the first episode of Hannah Montana except instead of doing that plot line in the first episode this shows takes a few episodes to tell that exact same story with the exact same story and while yes other Disney Channel shows have done the liar revealed story before here it just felt like a lazy rip off of the first episode of Hannah Montana.

To give this episode some credit it does try to do something new by having alot of focus on the action scenes in this episode. With the episodes action scenes being really well done for the budget that they had to pull them and for the fact that this is a live action Disney Channel Original Series and those don't typically have good action scenes in them and yet the action scenes in this episode were really well done with us getting some really creative fight scenes and fight scene locations all while being done in the typical Disney Channel way but at the same time tho the episode makes it painfully obvious when there using a stunt double as they would cut to either a wide shot or to an over the should shot so you can't see the actors faces that clearly all of which make it painfully obvious that there using a stunt double and that it's not the actual actors themselves but the fight scenes in the episode were really creative tho.

Now then this episode has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly twenty nine minuets and thirty eight seconds. Which is a really rather solid running time for this episode as the episode has alot of plot there to cover that amount of running time but the issue is tho is that alot of the episodes characters aren't that fully developed which is understandable as this is a TV series and as such it doesn't make sense to fully develop the characters in the first episode especially when you have the rest of the episodes to do that but at the same time it would have been nice to have some sort of development for alot of this episodes as alot of them just have nothing to do in this episode and are there just to tell one bad joke and then leave the scene which does make it harder for them to get across what there personality is even meant to be and for us the audience to form a connection with them but I will admit that this episode really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is a comedy that means that I have to actually talk about the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad. As it was the type of comedy that does work well enough for the Disney Channel but on the flip side of that is the fact that this episodes comedy isn't all that good either as the jokes in this episode are jokes that you can see coming a mile away and as a result of that while they are still somewhat funny jokes they aren't as funny as they really could have or even should have been and while this episode does have some decent jokes in it they are very few and far between with the episode having alot more bad or even lame jokes in it then it does good jokes in it in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. 

Overall it's not that hard to see why this show or this episode has been forgotten about by alot of people but at the same time it really is still Zendaya doing what she did best back when this show was first being released it's just that this episode isn't as good as it really should have been or even could have been for that matter in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very episode really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 6 out of 10 from me.

Doctor Who: The Rings Of Akhaten Review

Doctor Who is home to many speeches alot of which are done by The Doctor him / herself and alot of which are really good. However there is one speech that alot of fans think of as being one of the best of the best with that very speech being in the very episode that i'm about to review for you all today with this one also being an episode that i've been trying to review for sometime now but for one reason or another I just couldn't do that at that exact point in time and so then join me as I review the episode that has a very well known Doctor Who speech in it with the episode in question being called simply just "The Rings Of Akhaten" enjoy.

The plot of the episode is when The Doctor takes Clara on her very first trip into outer space they visit planet were a religious festival to help to keep a huge creator that orbits the planet asleep and have to defeat it when it finally wakes up. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us n this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad as it was a very serviceable plot but at the same time tho the plot to this episode wasn't all that good either with the plot being at best very thin and at worst just not that interesting or not to the high standard of this episodes writer other show Luther but I will admit that this episodes plot is also really rather entertaining and as well as being also really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this episode House Of The Dragon star Matt Smith as The Doctor and Victoria and Captain America: The First Avenger star Jenna-Louise Coleman as Clara Oswald. Also starring in this episode is Utopia and Locke & Key star Emilia Jones as Merry Gejelh , Michael Dixon as Dave Oswald , Nicola Sian as Ellie Oswald , Chris Anderson as The Chorister , Aidan Cook as The Mummy and Karl Greenwood as Dor'een.

Now then interms if what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty really good. Which for this show is really nothing that's all that new as this show especially the Matt Smith era of the show has always had some really good acting in them with this episode not being an exception to this rule with Matt Smith being the true standout performer in this episode as he does deliver a truly wonderful performance as The Doctor with the acting in this episode really being helped by the fact that the episodes script is just so good that all the episodes cast have to do is just say the lines as they are written and a good performance will come out of them naturally.

Doing the CGI for this episode is the legends and the greats that are currently over at The Mill and Real SFX. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty for the most part really good altho there was some painfully bad green screen which just looks awful as it stands out a mile when compared to all of this episodes really good looking CGI which even when this episode aired looked good and they still look good to this very day but the green screening looked good back when this first episode aired but it now looks bad and that is something that really does bring down the overall quality of the CGI in this episode.

It's in this episode that we get to see Clara's backstory with her origin being both beautiful and also tragic as well at the exact same time. As it doesn't appear to be that she was close to her father and yet she was incredibly close with her mother with her mother pretty much being her hero and yet we also see how she already met The Doctor prior to the events of The Bells Of St. John which does go to show you just how obsessed that The Doctor is becoming over trying to really figure out how she can die in both the future and the past and yet still be alive and well in the present even going as far as to lie to her when he says that he will treat her as her own person which is something that The Doctor has never done before with this even playing out in the episodes opening flashback which was a really nice touch as it also sets up something that really pays of later on in the episode as well as telling this really beautiful love story with these really likable characters that you really do want to see alot more off in the future episodes of this show.

As was stated at the start of this review this episode is home to quite possibly the greatest in modern Doctor Who history. Not only due to what's said but also because of the fact that it allows The Doctor to stop being the childlike kid that we see all throughout the episode but also all throughout Matt Smith's tenure of the show as well as it's this very speech that allows him to unearth generations worth of pain and agony that he's built up and it allows to him to in a way recover from all the loss that he's suffered be it from loosing Susan by forcing her to stay with the one that she loves or by loosing a companion due to death like Amy and Rory or even Adric for example all of which are things that he's never really let go of and yet it's during this speech where he willingly really gives us up alot of the memories that he's got that he then becomes really free of those burdens and can then start to heel from all of that pain and all of that loss with the speech itself also being really beautiful and is really epic in every single sense and meaning of the word.

There are a few downsides to this episode tho the first of which is the episodes main villain Akhaten himself who is just a bland villain who isn't really fully developed and isn't that scary or even that memorable to begin with. The second issue is the fact that the episode just feels like it's a Christmas special as apart from advancing the storyline involving Clara and that's really it as a result there's no reason as to hwy this episode aired as a regular episode when everything about this episode including it's wafer thin plotline just scream Doctor Who Christmas Special and while this episode does get credit for setting up the plotline of the TARDIS not really liking Clara it's something that doesn't make sense when you take into account that The Doctor and Clara had to use in the TARDIS to get to this planet in the first place as if it really didn't like Clara in the first place then it wouldn't have taken off from Earth at the start of the episode when Clara was inside the TARDIS with The Doctor.

Noe then while I cannot for the absolutely life of me remember whatever this episodes grand total running time even was I do know that for a fact that this episode has / had an exact grand total running time of roughly forty three minuets. Which really does feel like a lot shorter of a running time then what this episode really does deserve as this episode whilst it doesn't have alot of plot there to cover that large amount of running time in this first place the episode still could have done with having a longer running time as then the episode could flesh out both the episodes main villain to make him a more memorable villain and the episode also could have done with fleshing out the character out Merry Gejelh as the character as she is in the current cut f the episode is just a cardboard cut out of a stereotypical kid character only she's lacking anything that makes her alot more three dimensional but I will admit this episode really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is an action show that means that I have to actually talk about the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty fairly decent. However at the same time there really isn't alot of action of this episode when there really should have been just by having members of the people who are there to force Merry to sing her song and yet while we do get a decent action scene in the episode it's not as good as it really could have been as it's really just The Doctor pointing his Sonic Screwdriver which is fine for a few seconds but when that's the whole action scene then there's something wrong with the scene in question in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall it's very easy to see why this episode got a mixed response from the die hard Doctor Who fanbase as the episode does have some good things but at the same time tho the episode doesn't really take alot of the episodes running time in order to really fully develop either it's characters or it's ideas either in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very episode in this very review and as such that means that this very episode really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 6.5 out of 10 from me.

My SPOILER FILLED First Impressions Of The Avatar: The Last Airbender 2024 TV Series

Hot of the heels of there hugely successful One Piece live action adaptation Netflix has now just released another live action adaptation of a beloved animated show from the mid 2000's. However where as One Piece had the help of it's original creator to help to guide the makers of that show this one really doesn't have that as such it had the potential to be a hot mess and well you all just knew that I had to check out at the very least the first episode of this show the first chance that I got and so then join me as I give you my SPOILER FILLED first impressions of the show that has the chance to be better then it's own movie adaptation with the show in question being called simply just "Avatar: The Last Airbender" enjoy.

The plot of this episode is one hundred years after the Avatar disappeared two siblings find a boy who may or may not by the Avatar. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I inn all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad as the plot of this episode was really well done and while there are issues with the plot those issues aren't something that can be brought up here due to them being spoilers however the plot of this episode is also alot more faithful to the show then that of the live action movie The Last Airbender with this episodes plot also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this episode is Gordon Cormier as Aang , Kiawentiio as Katara , Ian Ousley as Sokka and Dallas Liu as Prince Zuko. Also starring in this film is Paul Sun-Hyung Lee as Uncle Iroh , Lim Kay Siu as Gyatso , Casey Camp-Horinek as Gran Gran , Hiro Kanagawa as Fire Lord Sozin , Yvonne Chapman as Kyoshi , Ruy Iskandar as Lieutenant Jee , Matthew Yang King as The Voice Of Appa , Leo Chiang as Monk Thet , Jeff Yung as Monk Tsutop , Jayden Zhang as Myat , Dorian Giordano as Aydo and Silver Kim as Pasang.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad. However that's also the issue as the acting in this episode isn't all that good either granted it's alot better then the acting in the The Last Airbender live action movie but that's not really saying all that much as the acting in this episode is still really bad with alot of the episodes cast just turning in some fairly wooden performances with the episode in this episode not really being helped by the fact that the episodes cast isn't really all that good either as it gives none of the episodes cast nothing to work with interms of what it is that there characters personalities are even meant to be in the first place and the episodes director Michael Goi really quite clearly doesn't really know how to direct his cast and get a good performance out of his cast.

Doing the CGI for not only this but also the rest of the show as a whole is the legends and the greats that are currently over at Double Negative. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual GI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally though / felt that the actual CGI that's actually feature d/ presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad with the episode having better CGI then what was really needed or even expected and yet at the same time the CGI in this episode just looked like it had no weight to it with the CGI characters moving like there weightless and not like they would normally move like however on the flip side of that is the fact that this episodes is at times so good that it felt like that it belonged in a movie and not in a Netflix streaming series as the effects in this episode were just that good.

The plot of this first episode of the show was quite literally the plot of the first two episodes of the animated show. Only it now includes things from the third episode of the animated show which just don't work as the episode is trying to do so much instead of just focusing on being a good episode with the episode stripping Aang of the emotional growth that the animated show gave him in just it's first few episodes as instead f not showing us the attack on the air temple in the original show we find out about that attack when Aang does and that makes it all the more heartbreaking as he spends a good chunk of the episode believing that alot of the people that he loved and cared about are still alive which makes it all the more haunting and heartbreaking when he finds out that there no long alive and yet this episode robs us of a scene like that by outright showing us the attack on the southern air temple just because it wants to have to an extended action sequence.

To give this episode credit it is somewhat better then the live action movie adaptation in that it doesn't skip over plot points with lazy narration or try to fit several episodes into one storyline but at the same time tho it does commit one of the biggest sins that the movie version committed. That being the fact that the original shows creators Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko are not involved having left the show due to "creative differences" with the duo being replaced by the showrunner of Sleepy Hollow and the producer of Nikita Albert Kim which is a huge red flag when you realise that both of those shows got low ratings for there respective networks and it just goes to show you that the only two two people who should work on this show on a creative level is Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko as nobody else would know that world and those characters better then those two as they created the original show and that world and those characters.

Unlike alot of other live action adaptations of animated shows there are is a sense that those involved do have a passion for the original show. With even the characters costumes looking as closely as they could get to the original animated show and alot of the characters do act alot like there animated series counterparts as well the issue is tho is that this franchise works best as an animated as the makers of the show can they go as over the top as they need to and aren't bound by the laws of physics which is something that does let this episode down quite alot as it can't be as cool or as fun as the original animated series first two episodes were and even taking the new approach of just focusing on the larger narrative instead of including smaller scale filler and really character driven episodes doesn't make the show that much fun to watch as alot of the really great character moments come from those smaller scale episodes that aren't adding to the main plot of the show but they are adding to the relationships between the three main leads which just does just go to show you that even if the makers of this new show really have a passion for the original show they still need to know how to make a good show in the first place and really judging by show creators Albert Kim's IMDB page that doesn't seem like something that he really knows how to do.

Now then this episode has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour and three minuets and fifty one seconds. Which is a solid running time for this episode but at the same time given that it's just a retelling of the shows first two episodes with nothing really all that new added to it there's no reason as to why this episode should have been forty four to forty five minuets long with the only two things that might be new scenes that don't add anything to the plot of the episode being the episodes pre-titles scene which even then didn't need to be as long as it was and was really there just to have a couple of action scenes as even tho they set up the threat of the Fire Nation in the pre-titles scene the shows intro also does that which makes it's inclusion in the pre-title scene really even more pointless then what it already is but I really will admit that this episode really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now the as this is an action show that means that I have to actually talk about the actual actin that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty really good. With the episodes action being alot better then the action that we got in the movie adaptation with the Earth Benders actually being treated as an actual threat to the Fire Nation and not being treated like a joke like they were in the movie and heck the episodes best action scene despite being in a pointless pre-titles scene is actually in the pre-titles scene as it shows you just how cool and how strong the Earth benders really are and why they are a threat to the Fire Nation which makes for a really cool looking action sequence in this episode in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall while this shows first episode is alot better the The Last Airbender live action movie it's still not that good of a show and while it could indeed get better as the show goes on if the foundations are bad then it doesn't matter how good the rest of the show will be because it was built on shaky foundations in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very episode in this very post and as this is only my first impressions I won't give this show a rating as any show can have a good or bad first episode but if this post does well then I will look into covering more episodes of this show as a review tho.
