Victoria "The King Over The Water" Review

Hello there Victoria fans i do apologize for not giving you a review last week only for these past few weeks i've not been feeling to good but i will not leave you hanging this week so here is my review of Victoria Series 2 Episode 7 "The King Over The Water".

The plot of this weeks episode finds the Queen and the Prince up in Scotland. That's really all there is in terms of plot for this weeks episode since if i mention anything it would give away what happens to them and since there is very little plot i won't mention what i thought of the story.

Of course we have Jenna and Tom in this episode and once again they kill it since most of there scenes in this weeks episode is just with the two of them you get to see how they are as husband and wife and guest starring in this episode is Denis Lawson aka Wedge from the Star Wars movies and he's pretty good in this episode but for me the other guest star is something i'll get into later.

Now i mentioned another guest star well for me it's Scotland itself it's so beautiful and filmed so well to me it gets treated like another character on the show and this time i know for a fact they filmed up in Scotland so it was nice to see them go up the the north i only wonder if they went to the Scottish highlands or not.

This episode does something that i don't think has been done in British drama before since it's so good i cannot post the picture of it nor can i mention who it involves since it would be a give away but i will say that if those characters got caught by the police they could have been in deep trouble and i'm glad that laws like that don't exist today.

Now it's not that often that i comment on the music for this show because it's always been top notch stuff but in this episode the music was beyond the usual music heard in this series and i loved it and i loved the fact that they used Scottish instruments and the tracks that had singing in them were beautiful to listen to.

Overall this was a fantastic episode with it's only issue being the weak plot for me this episode is a 9 out of 10.

The Gifted Pilot Review

Well then  Marvel fans it's been a few days since Inhumans started and now Fox is showing us what they can do with the Marvel name so here is my review of the pilot episode of The Gifted.

The plot for the episode is The Strucker family find out there kids are mutants and go on the run. That's really it in terms of plot since it's a pilot episode i wasn't expecting the whole story to be present in this episode but for me the set up worked in this episode and it helped set it apart from a certain Marvel show which has also just started.

The pilot stars Stephen Moyer , Amy Acker , Sean Teale , Natalie Alyn Lind , Percy Hynes White , Jamie Chung , Blair Redford , Emma Dumont and Toks Olagundoye aka the new Mrs. Beakley. Right of the bat i can say that the acting in this pilot is so much better then in that other Marvel show which just started and i think that's down to two things number one is the director for this episode is Bryan Singer a feature film director so he'll know how to get the best from the actors and the other being the script from Matt Nix. I will have to say that out of all the actors in this pilot the two actors i enjoyed the most was Percy and Natalie and it's not because Natalie looks like Chloe Grace Moretz i really believed them as brother and sister.

I have to say then even tho is has the Marvel name and is set in the world of the X-Men films this isn't a superhero show at least not in the way a typical superhero show would be this is more of a family drama and to be frank i liked that aspect of it alot it's refreshing not to have an action sequence every few minuets.

Unlike THAT other Marvel show the effects in this show are really good there not feature film worthy by any means but for a TV show on a mainstream network like Fox they were really good the effects on Blink's power for example is full of vibrant colors that really pop and i hope that this level of quality stays with the series.

Overall i'd say that this is a show that's worth checking out and it's easily better then Inhumans and i have no clue why people aren't talking about this show and like the rest of my pilot reviews there will not a rating since it's the start of the story but there might be another review near the end of the first series.

Marvel's Inhumans Pilot Review

Well then comic book fans another comic book TV show has graced our screens and if you've read the tile of this post then you know what show it is so here is my review of Marvel's Inhumans pilot episode.

The plot for this series is Maximus pulls of a military coup and the Royal Family escapes to earth. What really bugged me about this pilot is despite it being and hour and half long it takes a good thirty minuets Maximus's plan gets put into action that's not a good thing in my eyes but the overall pacing i thought was good.

The show stars Anson Mount , Serinda Swan , Ken Leung , Eme Ikwuakor , The adorable Isabelle Cornish , Ellen Woglom and Ramsey Bolton. the acting in this pilot is pretty bad in places some actors are better then others but i don't blame the actors i blame Scott Buck the show runner and writer for this two part pilot he gave the actors nothing to work with.

I found most of the Royal Family to be unlikable which was a bad thing since there meant to be the main heroes and one of the characters even strangles Maximus which is something you cannot have a main hero doing in your opening episode.

Now i saw the comments on the effects when the trailer first came out and i have to say that i personally thought the effects were ok they weren't bad but at the same time they weren't that good either i thought the effects on Medusa's hair looked good and in some scenes Lockjaw looked pretty good but in others he looks fake if this pilot was just being shown on TV i could have forgiven the bad effects but this was being shown no Imax screens so in my eyes there was no excuse for bad CGI and i didn't really like the teleportation effect either.

This show does something which actually weakens a character i can't say what it is but if you know who it is you'll know who i mean and if you havn't seen it it happens around the thirty eight / thirty nine minuet mark by doing what they did they made the character appear weaker it just doesn't add up to me why they would do that it makes no sense from a story point of view or a character point of view.

Overall i'd say if you've read the Inhumans comic books then you might want to check out this episode but if your not a fan of the Inhumans books then you can skip this but i personally might check out the rest of the episodes since it does sound interesting especially seeing where this could go and like my other pilot reviews there will not a rating.

The Orville Review

Hello there people who love movies and television a few weeks before Star Trek: Discovery debuted Seth MacFarlane debuted his Star Trek inspired show The Orville and now we're four episodes in i'm going to review it.

The plot of the show is The crew of U.S.S. Orville goes around the universe exploring new worlds. Yes what i've described to you is the very plot of the show and yes it is episodic and i like that now every show needs to have an overarching story sometimes having an episodic show is good for you.

The show is not only created by Seth Macfarlane but he also plays one of the lead roles with the other characters being played by Adrianne Palicki , Penny Johnson Jerald , Scott Grimes , Peter Macon , Halston Sage , J. Lee and Mark Jackson. I have to say that the cast in this show are funny as hell each of the cast members get there moment to say or do something funny and i love it i cannot count how many times i've laughed at something that any member of the cast has said.

Now this show is a science fiction drama comedy and it's really heavy on both the science fiction and the comedy i'll admit that not all of the jokes work but the alot of them not only land but they had me laughing out loud especially in episode 4 where they work in not only a mom joke but a reference to Friends. The issue i have is as i've said before it gets a little to heavy on the science fiction for my liking since it gets confusing with the character races.

I think that this show has a really small budget because there are at times then CGI looks fake as hell but tho at the same time the inside of the ship looks really good i want to spend time on that ship it looks that good plus Adrianne Palickie is a babe whatever budget this show has i hope that for a potential second series it gets an increase because this show is worth it.

The guest list for this show reads like a who's who of Seth's friends i can't post there names because as of this writing only three of them have turned up but so far every guest star has killed it in the show and the one in episode 4 i didn't see coming and wondered how did they get this person.

Overall i think you should watch this show just because it gives out a message of hope and if Star Trek: Discovery isn't your think then this will be right up your alley i won't give this ranking since it's still on going but it's worth watching.

Villa Antropoff Review

Animation fans you have seen me tackle a bunch of films before so now it's time you see me tackle something a bit different a short film so here is my review of Villa Antropoff.

Now you guys have to understand that this film is thirteen minuets long so when i say it's a short film i mean it. The film doesn't really have a plot but it does involve a man rowing in a homemade boat to a villa where a wedding has just ended badly and the wedding it self between a gangster and his girlfriend. That's all you get in terms of plot the rest of it you have to make up yourself altho i have to give the film some credit for not out right saying what the plot is it instead relays more on the visuals but at the same time it hard to make out what the story is.

Now normally i would mention who's in the short film however the film has no actors listed so instead i'm going to mention the animation which is really good for an independent film however the film has some weird looking characters all you have to do is look at the above picture to see how weird the characters can look.

Don't show young ones this film not only will they not understand what's going on it also has a lot of adult scenes in fact there's so much adult content that i can only use a few pictures for this review i have to really look hard to see what pictures i can and cannot use there's that much adult content in this film.

Overall this short film is strange and bizarre and i can see why i got booted of Youtube in fact the only way you can watch this film is by going onto Vimeo for me this film gets a 7 out of 10.

Victoria "Entente Cordiale" Review

I know that this review is a late but if you saw my last review of Victoria then you'll know why i wasn't able to get a review out but i'm here this week with a late review so here we go with my review of Victoria series 2 episode 5 Entente Cordiale.

The plot of this episode finds the Queen and her husband in France in order to persuade the king to not let his son marry the young Spanish Queen. I really loved this episode i thought that the story was light hearted enough to enjoy and yet serious enough that you could feel the weight of what they were trying to do.

Of course we have Jenna and Tom in this episode and they both do a really great job and i think that Jenna should have her hair down all the time. For me Diana Rigg once again stole the show even tho her scenes don't have an impact on the plot she's just great in all her scenes and it's in those scenes that we get most of the comedy for this episode.

I want to know if the production went to France to film this episode because everything just looked so beautiful but given the high quality production values that this show has it wouldn't surprise me if they stayed in London.

It's not all sunshine and flowers tho as for most of the episode the Prince is dealing with something that happened last week (thanks to the recap at the start of the episode for that little nugget) and to be honest i'm glad that they didn't just forget about it they had that plot point come into play in this episode and i have to give them credit for doing that.

Overall this was a fun episode and one that i would say so far is the best of the series for me this episode gets an 8.5 out of 10.
