Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Mystery Of The Cliffs PSA Review

To say that the nineties was the heyday for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles would be a huge understatement. As not only did they have a very popular animated TV series , three live action movies and a live action TV series which also crossed over with Power Ranger In Space however people really seem to forget or just straight up don't know about all of the more stranger pieces of Turtle media to come out in that decade and well I thought i'd take a look at one of the two live action PSA's that they did and so then join me as I review the PSA that merges THREE piece of turtles media together with the PSA in question being called simply just "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Mystery Of The Cliffs" enjoy.

The plot of this PSA is when Splinter sends the Turtles out into the dessert for some training they discover members of the Foot Clan stealing somethings within the cliffs and have to stop them before it's far to late. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very PSA well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt hat the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very SA was in all honesty not that bad but at the same time it wasn't all that good either as it did a good job of doing whatever it was that it was trying to do but at the same time tho it makes zero sense for the turtles to be out in the dessert in the first place as Splinter doesn't fully explain why he wants them out there in the first place with the dialog explaining it feeling forced as even tho it's meant for us the audience the characters would already know why there out there and so they wouldn't need to repeat it in the first place look fair enough you need to have a reason for these characters to be in this location and this PSA quite clearly didn't have a budget but at the same time tho there should have been a lot more effort into giving this PSA a plot that not only makes sense for the story that there trying to tell but also for the characters as well as the turtles especially the 1980 animated series turtles would never be caught dead in a dessert because there's no way for them to get any Pizza with this PSA's plot feeling like it was written by someone who was only given a brief outline of who the turtles are but quite clearly isn't a fan of them in the first place with the plot of this PSA not really being really rather entertaining and nor is it really rather engaging either in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this PSA is Cam Clarke as The Voice Of Leonardo and Townsend Coleman as The Voice Of Michelangelo. Also starring in this PSA is Barry Gordon as The Voice Of Donatello , Rob Paulsen as The Voice Of Raphael , Peter Renaday as The Voice Of Splinter and Splinter's Ancestor , David Anthony as Splinter and Splinter's Ancestor , Mark Barrett as Michelangelo , Michael Carpio as A Foot Ninja , Laura Kotecki as Leonardo , Danyol Leon as Donatello , Scott Quintard as A Foot Ninja , James Saba as A Foot Ninja and Danielle Silveira as A Raphael.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very PSA well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very PSA was in all honesty not that bad. Which in this case is something that does make sense as it's actors are quite literally just the same voice actors from the original show all of whom are reprising their roles in this PSA and there for thy would have of course know how best to perform there roles with the in suit actors doing a passable job given not only the suits that they had to work with but also the fact that this PSA had no budget to it but at the same time tho this is quite clearly not the best work from the actors that are reprising their roles as even tho there not sleepwalking through this entire PSA at all it's quite clear just feel lost and unsure of themselves like there not being given the right direction needed and this is something that this PSA's director Jacques Guerin really should have helped them with as that is something that would have made this special all the more watchable then what it already is with the acting that's in this very PSA not really being helped buy the fact that this PSA's scrips is just so bad as it gives none of this PSA's actors absolutely nothing to work with interms of what it is that there actual characters personalities are even meant to be in the first place which is something that really does harm the overall quality of the acting that's in this very PSA.

For one reason or another the makers of this PSA chose to make Mikey's entire character be about Pizza as that's all he talks about in this PSA. While yes both he and the other turtles love Pizza this is something that we all know but they don't all keep on talking about it all the time as no joke around ninety percent of Mikey's dialog in this PSA is just made up of him talking about Pizza with the other ten percent being made up of nineties catchphrases and it got to the point where I was dreading him having to talk about of the fact that I knew right away what his dialog was going to be about and this is a good example of the makers of this PSA not really being fans of the characters and just being given a very brief outline of who the turtles are as no self respecting turtles fan would just have the characters talking about Pizza and having the one turtle that alot of nineties kids loved become so annoying in this one PSA that you actively dread having to hear him talk because you know where his dialog is going to go and while yes it would have been hard to get people who are adults and who are fans of the original animated series turtles to write this PSA as they more then likely didn't exist but at the same time you could have gotten advice from the makers of that show on how to write for the characters or even perhaps watched one of the shows episodes just something would have done as then you would know that Mikey doesn't talk about Pizza in every other sentence but that would mean that the makers of this special would actually have to do the work to understand these characters which is something that they just didn't do and that is something that you can tell just by the way that they handled not only Mikey but the rest of the characters as well.

Believe it or not not only is the not the first live action turtles PSA but also this PSA actually combines THREE elements from other turtles media as we have the voice actors from the original show all of whom are reprising their roles for this PSA but we also have the music from the firs two live action films and we have the suits from the The Coming Out Of Their Shells Tour as well. Which is just weird and yet at the same time oddly awsome to see as well as one of the things that people love about the first two live action films was the music and the suits from the tour is one of the best things about the tour and the fact that they got the original actors back does lend the project some legitimacy to the project but all it does is remind you of those other projects and it makes you wonder the makers of this PSA went this route as they could have put together some cheaply made turtle suits or gone the Operation Blue Line route and have the suit mascots be the suits used in this special and they could have come up with an original score instead of sourcing it from somewhere else but in saying that the disco type version of the nineties movie theme song that they play over the end credits was pretty good and the makers of this PSA did know when to use a creepy piece of music from either film but again tho hearing these tracks play over a scene with the tours suits just feels weird somehow as at the very least with the Operation Blue Line PSA they used there own score and had there own suits whilst also oddly enough using the original series actors.

Perhaps the smartest thing that the makers of this PSA did was have Donatello be the one that spouts out all of the information by why us the audience should want to preserve these old buildings in the mountains. As that is something that is perfect for his character as he is meant to be the smart one of the group and so of course he would be the one to listen the hardest when Splinter is telling it to them in the first place which makes it all the more weird when both Mikey and Raph pick on Leo for not remining them about it when all they have to do is ack Donatello who is standing quite literally a few feet away from them in the first place and while this is understandable given that it is a PSA alot of his dialog is all about trying to save the things that are to be found in these maintains which does make sense given that this is a PSA but at the same time you don't need to keep on going on about it as mentioning it once or twice would have hit the mark all the same but given that this PSA was made for little kids it does also make sense that Donatello would keep on going on about it as that's who he's trying to get through to at the end of the day and having him be the one to tell all of the turtles these facts about the maintains that there in does oddly enough make alot of sense and is actually the only thing that's in this PSA that actually does make sense as alot of it is just weird at best and at it's worst just feels like the people that are making this PSA are trying to hard to make a good turtles product instead of actually making a good piece of turtles media in the first place.

In what is both an understandable and yet at the exact same time baffling reason this PSA dedicated about four to five minuets at the end very end just to telling us why we the audience should want to see these old mountain buildings be kept as they are. This is baffling in the sense that they just dedicated the first twelve minuets of the PSA to exactly that and now after the end credits have finished there now doing a more shortened version of it which is something that really doesn't make any kind of sense whatsoever as no kid is going to willingly watch an additional five minuets of this PSA tape as it's telling them things that just don't interest them but to play devils advocate here it does also make sense to do exactly that as it does give you information about what you should do should you see someone trying to take something from them and it tells you where they either are or now where as well why alot of that really couldn't have been covered in the main PSA tho remains a mystery in it's own right as those are things that Splinter surely would have told the turtles before they left to go into the dessert and heck given that we also see members of The Foot Clan stealing things from one of these buildings it also would have been oddly relevant to the main plot as well with it being tacked on at the very end it only makes it feel like that it was something that the makers of this PSA forgot to do whilst filming it and so they just stuck it on at the end and had Barry Gordon do voice over over a couple of still images and called it a day which if that is the case is just a lazy to it as it is something that could have been worked into the main plot of the actual PSA itself.

Now then this PSA has/ had an exact grand total running time of exactly nineteen minuets and forty four seconds. Which is a fairly solid running time for this PSA to have but in saying that this PSA really doesn't have alot of plot there to really cover that amount of running time as by all rights this PSA's plot only about should have been ten minuets long and no more then that with both the end credits and the after credits speech from Donatello eating up alot of the PSA's running time with this not really being helped by the fact that it doesn't even use it's running time all that wisely either as nothing be it from the plot to the characters is particularly fleshed out which is to be expected as these were never meant to be seen by alot of people apart from kids in schools and that's really it but at the same time tho even PSA's should have fully fleshed out out plots look at another Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles PSA called "Cartoon All Stars To The rescue" as a prime example of that as while yes it was still trying to get across a very important message it still took the time to fully develop it's plot and characters to the point where you want to care about them and where you want to see them succeed here tho because neither is fully fleshed out us the audience can't care for either the plot or it's characters as the SA doesn't really give us a reason to care form them outside of the fact that there characters from a hugely successful TV show and that's really it but I really will admit that this PSA really does does have some really pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is a comedy that means that I have to actually talk about the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in tis very PSA well then in all honesty I in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very SA was in all honesty not that good. With nothing that the turtles say being particularly funny or clever either with them instead just feeling like that the writers of this PSA  were trying to hard to be funny and clever where as the turtles from the original eighties TV series just were and while yes they were goofy and silly it was that exact goofiness and silliness that not only made them enduring but also both funny and likable where as here because of the fact that the characters aren't being goofy and silly there not that enduring and there not the funny with the only funny thing in this whole PSA not even being something that the turtles said or did as just before they are about to fight the members of The Foot Clan the PSA does a random scene transition to after the fight which is only funny as it makes you realise just how cheaply made this PSA was and heck even the The Coming Out Of Their Shells Tour which was still done pretty cheap still managed to have a fight scene with the turtles , shredder and the foot clan and yet this special couldn't afford to have the four or five Foot Clan actors be involved in a fight scene with the turtles and that is the best joke and it's not even something that the turtles as all it does is put emphasis on just how cheaply made and how quickly thrown together that this PSA was of that is the best joke in this whole entire PSA as the thing as a whole just isn't that funny in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall while this PSA does get credit for having turtle suits that has mouths that actually open and partly close the better live action PSA has to be Operation Blue Line just because of the fact that we get to the turtles out of New York and in LA for literally no good reason whatsoever where as here there's nothing that's all that redeemable about this PSA as it's just that bad and is better left forgotten about in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very PSA in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very PSA really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 3 out of 10 from me.

Mystery Science Theater 3000 "Doctor Mordrid" Review

For every big summer hit film out there there's always a cheaply done knock off by The Asylum however they weren't the only ones that would do those types of movies. As the episode that i'm going to be reviewing for you all today spotlights a film that was made by Full Moon Features and that is a knock off of the Doctor Strange character and so then join me as I review the episode that sees the crew of the satellite of love tackle a bad knock off movie with the episode in question being called simply just "Doctor Mordrid" enjoy.

The plot of this episode is Kinga and Max have to get a host from the past while Emily and the bots have to try and survive the latest bad movie. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot thats actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad as even tho the plots of this show are usually pretty thin at best the plot of this episode did a good enough job of advancing the overall plot of the season despite it not really being focused on all that much which is pretty in keeping with this show but at the same time given that this is an important episode for this season it would have made more sense if they did focus a bit more on the plot of this season instead of only bringing it up once or twice which is also an issue with alot of the episodes from this season and it's not something that's just an issue with this episode but at the same time tho if this episode did put more focus on the plot of the season then it would mean that it would get in the way of them making jokes about this bad movie which is what alot of people myself included came to this show to see and while it would have been nice to have more of a stronger focus on the plot in this episode when push comes to shove having a weaker plot would mean getting more jokes which is something that this show is all about having with the plot of this episode being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Elvis Weinstein as Dr. Erhardt.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that' actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad. Which is something that's true for alot of this shows acting as well as this show has always had some pretty decent acting in it which while granted this episodes actors won't ever be as good as say Scrubs for example but for what is meant to be low rent comedy show where not alot of the actors are professional actors the very face that we get good acting in it at all is a miracle in it's own right made even more so when you take into account that alot of this episodes actors only started playing their respective roles in this very season of the show and yet all of this episodes performances are just as fun and just as goofy as you'd want from a show like this one in the first place as this is a show that really doesn't demand good acting in it as having just passable acting would be more then enough for this show and it's one that works well enough for this episode as well with the acting that's in this very episode really being helped by the fact that this episodes script is just so good that all this episodes actors really have to do is just say the lines as they are written and a a good performance really will come out of them naturally which is something that really does help to raise the overall quality of the acting that's in this very episode.

While this show is none for making fun of bad movies what it's not really that well known for is for making a ton of references. As just in the first few minuets of the actual movie alone there's more then a handful of references which is a bit beneath this show as while yes they do make references to other things in the past it was usually done in a smart and clever way and yet in this episode they just straight up yell what the reference is and while making references to something can be seen as being funny what made this show work so well was it's wordplay and the fact that they were saying things at the movie that us the audience would never say with the one bright spot during this films many references is the fact that Emily Marsh herself is pretty funny and if she did choose a career in comedy she very easily could be a big thing in comedy as se just has a wicked and quick sense of humor and while she herself does make alot of the references in this episode she does at least balance them out and space them out a bit so that it's not happening all the time where as with the actors playing Crow and Tom it's something that they do alot of the time and that is something that there characters would never do as they both are meant to have a really sarcastic sense of humor and making a reference to say Blackadder and The Flintstones does go against that even if it really does remind people that The Flintstones and Blackadder was once a thing it still would have been nice if they did tone down on the pop culture references or space them out alot more better then what they do because as things are it makes it look like that the only jokes in this episode are just pop culture references and really nothing more then that.

As you can all no doubt work out just from the title of the movie and the films poster Doctor Mordrid is actually a knock off of the Doctor Strange character. With the film even starting out life as a Doctor Strange movie before Full Moon Features lost the rights to the character when this film was in the pre-production stage but instead of cancelling the film all together they instead chose to carry on with the film and only make very small very minor changes to the films script to avoid any legal troubles hence why this film comes off as being a Doctor Strange knock off movie which makes you wonder if the film is this bad and weird as itis then imagine just how bad and weird it would have been if they had managed to keep the rights to the character for a little bit longer as this film is still so similar to the character of Doctor Strange that Marvel and Disney could if they so wanted sue Full Moon Pictures over this film as both of characters are Doctors , both of them deal with the mystic arts and both of them have to deal with end of the world threats and while granted that last one would be stretching it a bit but when you put it with the other two it does add up to something as there really aren't that many superheroes that have a PHD and that deal with the mystic arts as well but at the same time tho if Marvel did sue them then it would mean that this rather odd film would disappear from alot of places and a film that's this weird really should be seen by people and it doesn't really effect the Marvel name in any meaningful way whatsoever.

What would have made this episode a little bit better was if we got some build up as to who it is that's actually going to travel back in time to get the next host. As as things stand in the final cut pf the episode it's something that's brought up at the start of the episode and we see nothing from it until the end of the episode whereas if it was something that was built up a little bit more during the episodes host segments then they could have made it into a running gag all throughout the episode with various guest stars popping in which gets Max and Kinga excited only for the guest star in question to turn down the offer to go back un time for whatever reason which granted would start to get old pretty quickly but at the same time tho if you did spread them out a bit it could be a cute little joke that would then build up to the big reveal at the end where we do a have a returning guest star come in and willingly go backwards in time to find the third and final host for this season which does feel a bit anticlimactic as it did start out as being something that was going to be a big part of the episode only for it to instead be something that was barely touched upon or even mentioned for the rest of the episode when you very easily could have built alot of the episodes plot around that one idea and still have the plot with the rest of the crew watching the movie play out the exact same way as the two plots don't really ever connect in the first place and so nothing plot wise would be affected as at this point in the season there not meant to connect to each other which does make you wonder why the makers of this episode chose to dedicate so little time to the seasons main plot when it's never going to connect to the actual plot of the episode.

While this was a pretty average episode at best what made this episode was it's host segments as alot of them where really good. With getting a chance to see how Emily and her bots act around each other compared to Jonah and his bots who have had more time with each other and while both Emily and Jonah are basically the same character something that the episode itself does rightfully call out at the end of the episode what makes them so different from each other is the fact that Emily really is willing to go all in with whatever her bots ask her to do for them and while the same thing could also be said for Jonah as well he is the type of character who would try to talk to them out of it first before then going along with it where as with Emily she's all in from the second that they ask her to do something which is something that I don't think we've seen in a host before now as Mike was kind of the lovable goofball type of character and Joel was their father figure as he made them and this is something that we see all throughout this episodes host segments and it's something that does make those segments be alot more entertaining then what they what they really had any right to be as on paper Tom doing the exact same speech from the movie that he just saw only to then go into a bad comedy routine could be seen as being unfunny and drawn out but because everyone just goes all in on it it makes that segment one that's really fun to watch as by all rights that segment along with alot of the other host segments in this episode could have been seen as being dull to watch but they instead end up being the highlight of the episode because of the fact that all of the episodes characters really do commit to each and every single host segment of this episode.

Now then this episode has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour and thirty six minuets and sixteen seconds. Which is pretty much the bogstanderd running time for this show with it really being helped by the fact that this episode really does gave more then plot there to cover that amount of running time but the issue is tho is that this episode really doesn't use it's running time all that wisely as the episode doesn't focus on the plot of them them trying to find a third host which is something that is more then strong enough to carry an entire episode and is something that could have been done without harming the plot with Emily and the bots being forced to watch a really bad movie as the plot about Kinga and Max trying to find a third host could have been the side plot of the episode and all you'd have to do is dedicate one or two host segments to it in order to fully flesh out that part of the episode and that's really it and while it's understandable that the characters aren't all that fleshed out either as the that characters are essentially meant to be us the audience it still would have been nice if the makers of this episode did take the time needed to help to flesh out Emily and her bots as characters but at the same time tho given that they have to squeeze in an entire movie and the fact that the show doesn't really flesh out it's host character there's no reason for them to start now this late in the same as it would seem jarring and unneeded as it's something that they didn't really do in the past episodes of the show nor in the movie either but I really will admit that this episode really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So ow then is a comedy that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad. With this episode having alot of really funny moments in it and while it would be easy to point to any of the jokes that the make about the movie and say that that was the best joke of the episode that just wouldn't be true as while the movie does indeed make some really funny jokes about the movie in question alot of this episodes best jokes oddly come from the host segments which is weird as it's usually the other way around the scenes in the theater being more funnier then the host segments are with the best joke in this whole entire episode coming when Emily and her bots are showing off there latest invention a phone that has fully Gilbert & Sullivan songs on it and while Tom is singing about what the phone can do which is already a pretty funny idea in the first place Emily is there in the background taking pictures or everything and everyone that she sees with it being her over the top facial expressions and action that make that joke so much more funnier then what it really had any right to be and while the jokes in the theater are funny in there own there's just far to many pop culture references and not enough jokes that can stand on there own without us the audience knowing what the characters are referencing in the first place which is something that does make alot of those jokes seem unfunny where as lot of the host segments are just funny in their own right in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall where t not for the painfully funny host segments then this would be just an average episode of the show but because of the fact that the episodes hist segments are really funny with alot of the jokes in the theater still being really funny just to a much more lesser degree and the fact that Emily Marsh herself is really funny not only on this show but in this episode as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very episode in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very episode really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 6.5 out of 10 from me.

Batman: Gotham Knight Film Review

When you think of The Dark Knight trilogy you usually think of it as just being Batman Begins, The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises. Yet the one film that not alot of people know about is the very film that i'm going to be reviewing for you all today as there is a fourth film in The Dark Knight trilogy with this film being set inbetween the events of Batman Begins and The Dark Knight and so then join me as I review the film that is Batman's first ever anime film with the film in question being called simply just "Batman: Gotham Knight" enjoy.

The plots of this film is in "Have I Got A Story For You" four kids each tell a story of how they met Batman whilst in "Crossfire" Crispus Allen must overcome his prejudices towards Batman when his partners life is threatened in "Field Test" Bruce Wayne tests out a powerful new gadget that works a little two well while in "In Darkness Dwells" Batman searches for the missing Cardinal O'Fallon when he is taken in the middle of a public speech he was giving in "Working Through Pain" Bruce Wayne flashes back to an earlier point in time where he learns to control any form of psychical pain and in "Deadshot" when The Mayor is assassinated it's up to Batman to find out who killed before it's far two late. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plots that are actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plots that are actually actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad with some plots being alot more better then others which is something that was always going to be case given the fact that this is an anthology film with there only being a few plot strands that carry over from each short film with the best plot going to "Deadshot" just because of the fact that it was something that saw Bruce try to deal with the pain of loosing his parents which was interesting to say the least with the plots in this film also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is Kevin Conroy as Bruce Wayne / Batman and Jason Marsden as A Cop , A Doctor , Youth 2 and Thomas Wayne. Which given just who is starring in this film and the fact that alot of this films actors are not only voice acting legends in there own but in the case of Kevin Conroy is well known for playing Batman that he could play the character in his sleep if he really wanted to with alot of this films other actors also having major roles in other Dc Animated projects and while this might sound like a cliche thing to say at this point in time but the actor in this whole film is quite easily Kevin Conroy as Bruce Wayne / Batman as the man just simply is Batman so much so that he is who many people hear when they read the Batman comic books and it's who they think of when they think of Batman as he's just that good and while his young Bruce Wayne voice does sound a little bit weird just because of the fact that it doesn't sound as youthful as the character design makes him look the performance on the whole is really good with the same thing also being true for alot of this films actors as well as they all turn in some really good performance in this film with the acting that's in this very film really being helped by the fact that the scripts for this film are just so good that all this films actors have to do is just say the lines as they are written and a good performance will come out of them naturally which is something that really does help to raise the overall quality of the acting that's in this very film.

Doing the animation for this film is Studio 4°C , the legends and the greats that are currently over at Production I.G , Bee Train and Madhouse. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad with this films animation really being a whole lot more better then what it really had any right to be as by all rights the animation to standalone Batman anthology film that is basically a tie in for The Dark Knight really should have that good animation to it and yet for the most part this film has a exactly that with all of the films shorts having some really well done animation with the only real issue when it comes to the animation being the fact that during the two Madhouse produced segments all of the characters have alot of shadows on them which is very distracting and seems to be there style as they did the exact same thing in one of the Marvel anime films that they worked on and it didn't work then and it doesn't work now and while the Production I.G segment "Crossfire" does look really good it's not there best work not that it's bad because it's not it's just that they've done better animation in other films but when they get it right in this film they really do get it right as the action scene in that segment really does come alive thanks to the animation with the animation in this film as a whole having alot of detail in the backgrounds that anime is known for so much so that it feels like that you can read any of the signs that are in the backgrounds of this film as that's just how detailed this films backgrounds are alot of the time.

As was mentioned at the very start of this review this film is set inbetween the events of Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. With this film openly referencing the events of Batman Begins in the segments "Crossfire" and "In Darkness Dwells" the latter of which was actually written by the co-writer of the entire Dark Knight trilogy David S. Goyer but even so this film doesn't really tie into The Dark Knight as nothing that this film does or that happens in this film is mentioned at all in The Dark Knight it would there for be truly understandable if alot of people just straight up didn't know that this film is meant to be in the same world as the Christopher Nolan films and heck none of the designs for Batman match up with how the character looks in those films with the closest one being in "Field Test" which even then isn't exactly how the Batsuit looked in either Batman Begins or The Dark Knight for that matter but this film does carry the same realistic approach to the characters and to the world of Batman and the same tone of those films only now it's done in animation and that's really it and yet given the fact that one of the shorts was written by the co-writer of the Christopher Nolan Batman movies you'd think that he at the very least would make sure that the film connects to The Dark Knight and have more then just a reference to the finale in Batman Begins but nope and heck even having a character from those films come in would have been more then enough to tie the films together but we don't even get that which then makes this film feel like the black sheep of the family when compared to the rest of the Christopher Nolan Batman films.

Out of all six segments here in this film the best one overall is quite easily the last one "Deadshot" as it not only gives you a good villain in Deadshot but it also sees Bruce Wayne trying to come to terms with the death of his parents. Which is always going to make for a good segment as it does allow to do a deep character study on the character the issue is tho is that this film doesn't do that at all not only during that short film but in any of the others either which would be fine if they did that in the main live action films but they don't do it there either which is odd as that is something that does lead to some really good scenes when it's done well if you want proof of that watch Batman: Mask Of The Phantasm as that film has a scene where Bruce breaks down at his parents grave telling them that he might be able to continue to do his promise for them because he's happy and that is something that this film could have done as well as that Batman in these Christopher Nolan films really hasn't had the time to take stock and look at what it is that's making him happy and that is something that this film could have die either in "Deadshot" or "Working Through Pain" either on of those shorts would worked really well as they both feature flashbacks to a younger Bruce Wayne and seeing Bruce reflect on those moments could have caused him to wonder if he can continue on being Batman because he's found someone or something that does make him truly happy in the first place and yet by not doing that it makes the character of Bruce Wayne feel like a two dimensional character as he doesn't have those moments where he can reflect even if it's private on the death of his parents when that is something that a character like this one should have done in this film as this film does have two segments that would allow him to do so.

This film is made of six segments with not all of them being that good and even the film the first segment "Have I Got A Story For You" basically uses the exact same idea from an episode of Batman: the Animated Series. AS in that show there was an episode titled "Almost Got 'Im" which has a very similar set up to this films first segment where as instead of four kids each telling how they met Batman that day it's four of the dark knights foes each saying how they almost caught him and where is in the kids stories Batman's design changes depending on which kid is telling the story in "Almost Got 'Im" the design stays the exact same and that's really it which makes that whole first segment feel pointless as it's story that we've seen been played out before in a much more better piece of media and while the ending itself is also changed as instead of it being Batman tracking down this one recurring villain in "Almost Got 'Im" it's about Batman trying to find and rescue Catwoman an while the rest of the film isn't made up of stories that have been told more better in Batman: The Animated Series it is odd that the film does contain a story that was done alot more better in that show and part of that might be cause of the fact that the shows version of the story had a longer running time then what this segment had and because of that this type of story could have was told in much more better way then what it was done in this film with the rest of this film being made up of wholly original stories with one of the more unique ones being "Crossfire" as it's very rare that we get to see a Batman story told from the point of view of the police and having one of the police be distrusting of the caped crusader does make sense given that Batman has only just arrived on the scene.

Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour and fifteen minuets and fifty nine seconds. Which is pretty much the exact grand total running time for alot of these direct to DVD Batman films with the film really having the right amount of stories there needed to cover that running time but at the same time this is a film that really could have been a bit more longer n certain segments as alot of the films segments just end when they feel like that there just getting going with a prime example of this being both "Crossfire" and "Working Through Pain" as both the stories just end right when there picking up steam thus making there ending feel unnatural and out of place and while the rest of the film does have the same problem for alot of it's stories it's those two segments where you really do notice it as the plot of each segment does suffer because of it were as with say "In Darkness Dwells" you can kind of forgive it for just ending because the very next segment is a direct continuation of it and yet that one just ends with none of the films plots really getting the time that they really did need to be fully developed plots and as a result of that is the fact that while alot of this films plots could have been some really interesting Batman stories in their own right none of them are given the time to do so because of the fact that they have to rush along to get to the next plot beat when lasting alot more longer would have helped this film out in the long run but I really will admit that this film really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is a action film that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad. As alot of of this films segments do have some really good action in them with it being hard to say which one has the best action scene in it as that all depends on the segment because if your looking for a more realistic type of action scene then "Have I Got A Story To Tell You" has that but if your looking for something that's more inline with Batman Begins then "Crossfire" has that with it being that segment that does have the best action scene in the whole movie as it's just Batman fighting Deadshot on top of a moving train with what makes it good being the fact that we have to see Batman try to use his wits to outwit Deadshot as if he takes his eyes of him for a second then he could get knocked of the train or worse when is something that does add to the tension of the scene and seeing Batman just beat up Deadshot almost to the point of the death but the struggle not to deliver the killing blow does remind us of the very narrow line that the character tows as if he goes that one step to far in any action scene then he's no better then the villains that he fights with it being helped by the fact that its in that action scene where the animation for that segment looks it's best and where the characters having alot of distracting shadows on them does make sense given that there fighting in a tunnel which is something that does help to sell you on just how good the action in not only that segment but the film as a whole really is in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this wasn't a bad anthology film as it was great to see this classic character be seen through the airs of various anime studios for the first time but at the same time tho whole main selling point of this film was to see how it connects to The Dark Knight and that is some where where this film fails as to be put bluntly it doesn't connect to the The Dark Knight at all which makes this film feel pointless in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad ting that are in this very film in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very film really does ern itself a grand old score of exactly a 6.5 out 10 from me.

Scooby-Doo! Curse Of The Lake Monster Film Review

For even tho there have been a great many animated Scooby-Doo movies both theatrical and not there really have only been a handful of live action Scooby-Doo films and even then only four of them feature Scooby-Doo himself. With the film that i'm about to review for you all today actually being the last live action Scooby-Doo that had Scooby-Doo himself in it and so then join me as I review the film that was filmed by the same guy that shot both the original Halloween and the Back To The Future trilogy with the film in question being called simply just "Scooby-Doo! Curse Of The Lake Monster" enjoy.

The plot of this film is when Daphne and the gang get jobs working for Uncle at his country club they discover that the club is being haunted by a mysterious monster and set out to solve the mystery once and for all. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad but at the same time tho this films plot isn't all that goof as it's a really weak plot at best with the film instead spending more time on the two romantic subplots in the film instead of the main plot which makes this films plot feel more like an afterthought when it should be the other way around but when this film does focus on it's main plot it can be really interesting with the country club location being a really good setting for this film tot have as it's one that really hasn't been done in live action Scooby-Doo media before now and while the films plot doesn't really make the most of that location instead only bringing it up once or twice and that's really it with it not really being helped by the fact that the romance subplots that the film does have don't play that much of a role in the films main plot with it coming across as them only being added to help to fill out the films running time and that's really it with the plot of this film not really being really rather entertaining and nor is it really rather engaging either in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Also starring in this film is Nick Palatas as Norville "Shaggy" Rogers , Ted McGinley as Thornton "Thorny" Blake V , Richard Moll as Elmer Uggins , Nichelle Nichols as The Senator , Marion Ross as Hilda Trowburg , Beverly Sanders as Wanda Grubwort and Frank Welker as The Voice Of Scooby-Doo.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad. With alot of this films actors turning in some really good performances which is something that really does make sense as all pf this films main actors are not only returning from the previous film but also turned in some really good performances in that film as well with it being clear as day that this films actors were born to play this version of these truly iconic characters and while it would have been very easy to say that Frank Welker turned in the best performance as he has been playing Scooby-Doo for a little under ten years at this point in time that honor goes to Nick Palatas as Norville "Shaggy" Rogers who does manage to capture the tone and spirit of not only the original character but also oddly enough Matthew Lillard's take on the character as well with even this films newer actors not only turning in some really passable performances in their own right but also managing to hold there own when it comes to acting with the actors who are returning from the previous film as well with the acting that's in this film not really being helped by the fact that this films script is just so bad as it gives none of this films actors absolutely nothing to work with interms of what it is that there respective characters personalities are even meant to be in the first place which is something that really does harm the overall quality of the acting that's in this very film.

Doing the CGI for this film is Animation Picture Company , Custom Film Effects , KNB EFX Group and Special Effects Services. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad but in saying that it was alot more better then what the effects where in the previous movie as Scooby-Doo in this film whilst he still does look pretty he doesn't look have as bad as he did do in that previous film with it being made very crystal clear that there was more of an effort to make it look like that he was actually there on set and while having him look like his original character will always look weird in live action some credit does have go the effects teams for at least trying to make that design look good in this film with it also being made clear that this film had a much more higher effects budget then what the last film but in saying that they do still miss the mark on getting somethings right like the fact that during the opening and third act where Scooby is running across the wooden floor he doesn't cast much of a shadow something that would be the case and the toads don't look all that creepy with them just looking like toads when given the fact that the makers of these films are pretty much adapting things from the original show they could have gone all out with there designs as well.

As was mentioned at the very start of this review this films cinematographer was Dean Cundey who films lovers will also know did the same role for a bunch of other movies including the original Halloween movie , the Back To The Future trilogy and The Flintstones movie. With this film seeing him reteam up with The Flintstones director Brian Levant with it being odd that they got him to film this movie as you wouldn't expect the guy who was the cinematographer for all of these great movies to do this little made for TV movie and while he doesn't turn in a bad job by any means as the film does look very visually stunning but at the same time tho it's also a film that does look cheap which given that these made for TV movies where very cheap to produce does make alot of sense but at the same time tho you don't want the film to look cheap and while Dean Cundey does sneak in some really impressive shots in this film he oddly feels held back by what he can do which is odd because when these two did last team up for The Flintstones they both showed just what they could do and layed it all on the film for us all to see where as here because of the fact that the film did have a small budget they can't really do anything impressive with the camera outside of one or two tracking shots and that's really it and that's not something that works really well for this film with it being obvious that this film is a waste of Dean's talents as even tho Halloween proved that he can make a great film on a tiny budget here none of that is allowed to happen be it because of the fact that the budget or because of the fact that this films director Brain Levant just had no clue what he was doing either way something was holding him back from being as good of a cinematographer that we all know that he could be.

In what is a unique twist of fate this film is to date the final live action Scooby-Doo film to feature Scooby , Fred and Shaggy. As all three of them wouldn't make an appearance or ere even referenced in the 2018 direct to DVD live action Scooby-Doo film Daphne & Velma and after that there has been no other live action Scooby-Doo movies produced which does in a way make sense as you'd have to fully do Scooby in CGI which even for a direct to DVD movie was always going to hard to do but with them not producing quite literally any direct to DVD animated movie for two years now maybe now is the right time to get a live action Scooby-Doo movie made as if there done right then these can be good films as all you need to make them good is a good writer and a good director and that's really it as the rest will work itself out and while yes we are getting a live action Scooby-Doo show for Netflix that is something that could still look bad as there you'd have to spread the effects out over several episodes where as with a movie you can make Scooby-Doo look good in almost every scene that he's in if the movie's budget would allow for it and given that the Mystery Inc team work best when it's all of them and not just certain members of the group it's a wonder why Warner Bros haven't tried to get another live Scooby-Doo movie made as the sales from the direct to DVD movies alone should be more then enough to convince them that this franchise does still have legs but given that they currently hate there animated output maybe that's why we haven't seen anything from Scooby-Doo live action or not since Velma got cancelled.

The one thing that every Scooby-Doo should get right is the one thing that sadly alot of them get wrong and that's tell a genuinely good mystery. This is something that alot of Scooby-Doo films live action or not get wrong and it's something that this film also gets wrong as well as the films puts far to much thought and effort into the love lives of there characters then it does in telling a good mystery with the film not giving us one single clue so that us the audience could work out ourselfs who is really behind this crime and work out what there motive is in the first place this is something that the original show did so brilliantly as they weren't all about holding your hand through every clue they let you work it for yourself by giving you all the clues that you needed all throughout the mystery and that kind of thinking and attitude has sadly been lost with the makers of this film not even bothering to give you a clue or even any suspects for that matter which makes the reveal near the end of the film surprising but for the wrong reasons as while having Velma be revealed to be the bag guy albeit with her being possessed is a good idea and is one that iterations of the franchise have done in the past there was nothing to tell us that they could be a possibility outside of the fact that she wasn't shown at the start of the movie which then it makes really obvious that it's Velma yet if the makers of this film bothered to give us some clues then we the audience could work it out for ourselfs and thus arrive at that point at the same time as the characters themselves do and not have the answer come out of nowhere.

Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour and twenty two minuets and twelve seconds. Which to be fair is pretty much the bogstandard running time for the direct to DVD Scooby-Doo films with this film having more then enough plot to cover that amount of running time but at the same time tho this is a film that really doesn't use it's running time all that wisely in the first place as the main mystery plot isn't that fully developed due to the fact that the makers of this film spend more time in developing two pointless romance subplots both of which not only go nowhere but also add nothing to the plot of the film and the film isn't all that interesting in trying to develop it's characters either the film instead choosing just keep them as they were at the end of the first film and that's really it which would be great if you were producing an episodic TV show but for a sequel movie you need to have the character go through some kind of progression and not just keep them the same as they were in the last film and what's worse is the fact that if the makers of this film just removed or cut down upon the two pointless romance subplots and instead gave more time into developing both it's characters both returning and new and the main plot of the film then we'd have a much more better film because of it granted that won't fix all of the films problems but it would go a really long way as without having characters that your invested in and want to see more of then it doesn't matter if they have a romance or not because us the audience just won't care about them and with the added screen time more time can now be devoted into further developing the actual main plot of the film which would then result in us the audience actually getting clues that would help us to work out for ourselfs who the real culprit is in the first place but I really will admit that this film really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is a comedy that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad. As the film does have some cute moments in it that are pretty funny but at the same time tho a shockingly high amount of this films jokes just don't land which given who is directing this film does track with this directors other films with this film having alot of references not only to the franchise as a whole but also to the opening of Scooby-Doo Where Are You with Fred and Daphne using disguises that look like there original character designs and Shaggy mentioning a "friend" that he has called Scrappy which was a decent joke but for every clever reference that the film makes there are also more that feel forced like the fact that the monsters hand tries to grab Daphne from behind the fact that at the end of the film the characters in a rap just straight up break the fourth wall by admitting that they now that there characters and even hold up actual DVD's from the franchises long history which while it was forced with that whole ending song sequenced feeling forced and unneeded it was still pretty cute to see them acknowledge the fact that they know that there characters even if it's done in a badly done rap with the Fred and Daphne using disguises that look like there original character designs being the best joke in this whole entire film in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this was a pretty solid film but at the same time even this film doesn't give Scooby-Doo himself all that much to do outside of having a pointless subplot with him not being Shaggy's friend anymore because Shaggy wants to date Velma which again goes nowhere with all of the pointless subplots being jus the very tip of the ice bergs for all of the things that are wrong with this film but this film is at very least marginally better then then the terrible film that is Daphne & Velma in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very film really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 4.5 out of 10 from me.

Garfield Gets A Life TV Special Review

While alot of people know that the Peanuts characters have alot of specials very few people if any know that Garfield has a ton of TV specials as well. With the Garfield specials not really bein all that well remembered outside of a few people who grew up with them with the special that i'm going to be reviewing for you all today actually being the last one every produced and so then join me as I review the special that is more focused on Jon then it is on Garfield with the special in question brin called simply just "Garfield Gets A Life" enjoy.

The plot of this special is one day when he and Jon are bored Garfield decides to help Jon get a life with the dup doin whatever it takes to make sure that Jon gets a life. Now then then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot thats actually featured / presented to us in this very special well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very special was in all honesty not that bad but at the same time it's also not all that good either as it is a really weak plot for a special and instead feels more at home as plot for an episode of the Garfield & Friends TV show as those are only made up of small segments which is the perfect place to put a plot like this one where as here because of the fact that the specials plot whilst it can be good in places just isn't strong enough to support an entire twenty two minuet special as the special itself barely focuses on the plot with it feeling more like a series of very loosely connected scenes and while that might very well be the case for alot of the Garfield specials that doesn't always mean that it works as it's just something that doesn't work for this special and it is something that should have been fixed if the makers of this special knew that it was goin to be the last one but on the other hand this kind of storytelling could also be seen as being true to the spirit of the Garfield & Friends TV show as well with the plot of this special not really being really rather entertaining and nor is it really rather engaging either in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

As alot of this special actors are a bunch of really good actors in there own with several of them even reprising their roles from the show and other Garfield specials as well and a result of that is the fact that they really would know how best to perform there character and what kind of performance would fit there respective character in any given situation and while it doesn't need saying but the best actor in this special is quite easily Lorenzo Music as Garfield as the man just has that dry and deadpan delivery that just fits the character and matches the characters own sense of humor so well that it really is hard to picture anyone else no matter how well know that they are to play this character as he just played him so well that it was like that the character was written with him in mind and while the rest of this special characters are also perfectly well cast as well known of them match up to Lorenzo Music with the actin that's in this special not really bein helped by the fact that this specials script is just so bad as it gives none of this specials actors absolutely nothing to work with interms of what it is that there respective characters are even meant to be in the first place which is something that really does harm the overall quality of the acting that's in this very special.

Doing the animation for this special is the legends and the greats that are currently over at Wang Film Productions Company and Cuckoo's Nest Studios. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very special well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very special was in all honesty not that bad and was more then reaching the standards set by the show but that's also the problem and while it is understandable as to why this special looked like the show as that was still a very popular show at the time for a special you expect the animation to look better not movie quality good just something that would set it apart from an episode of the show where as here since it does look like an episode of then there was no need to make this special it's own thing as you very easily could have had air as an episode of the show and no one would be able to tell the difference and while that's not always a bad thing as in this case it does also fit the plot as the plot also feels like it would be more at home in the show it's animation isn't as could as it could have been but to be fair tho the characters do have some really nice fluid movements to them and the fact that it looks like a water color painting does somehow make it feel more timeless then what it really had right to be with the special animation really coming alive when there telling a joke with the animation even helping to make the joke even more funnier as well.

Oddly enough while the special is named after Garfield it's Jon that gets all of the focus which is something that makes no sense. As you don't go to watch a Garfield special for Jon you go to watch Garfield and there for having him be the focus of the special would have made alot more sense and it could even be argued that Garfield plays no major part in the special outside of him going with Jon to all of these events and makes jokes about him but that's really it and that's not enough to justify him being in the title of the special and while it would have been hard to do the plot of this special with Garfield as the main focus it wouldn't have been impossible as you could have had Jon not only get his life but that become so caught up in it that forgets all about Garfield and Odie not to the point where there in danger but to the point where us the audience start to notice it a bit more and you could even have Garfield remind Jon of him and Odie thus giving Garfield something to do in the special and since Jon only stops seeing this girl that he just met because of the fact that she's allergic to cats it would make perfect sense that Garfield would also be the one to remind Jon that he already has love in his life just not in the way that he would have thought off and heck you could even have a joke at the end of the special where the very next day both Garfield and Jon are bored again with the special as it is not really working because of the act that Jon is meant to have no personality and therefor isn't meant to be that interesting of a character which is fine for the comic strips as he's not the main character of those strips but here because he is now meant to be the main character it still doesn't work because of his lack of character something that shouldn't be changed as Garfield should always be the main character of any Garfield piece of media.

Unlike the Peanuts special which are meant to be cute and heartwarming specials that touch upon things that we do in every day life. The Garfield specials and indeed this one is meant to be absurd and crazy and to that degree that is where this special shine brightest as alot of the situations that both Jon and Garfield get into could be seen as being wacky , crazy and absurd which is something that's perfect for these characters as these characters are meant to be the kind of character that people young and old can not only relate to but also find some form of enjoyment in as well and while seeing Jon try and fail to get a life can lead to some funny situations it doesn't do enough to justify him being the main character of the special as Jon doesn't go through any character growth it's Garfield that does that with Jon just essentially being the audience type of character who is just along for the ride and that's a great role for his character to play as he's the hapless loser he's the guy that you want to see try and fail to get the girl because you know that deep down he will learn something special because of it whilst still being his crazy self and while the Peanuts gang can get away with having more heartwarming stories as they are meant to be in a heightened version of our world Garfield however doesn't have and never should have the luxury as the Garfield characters should always be telling these more wacky and out there stories that whilst they won't teach you any valuable life lessons but what they will do is put on a smile on your face and that's great as that's all they really need to do and that's something that this special oddly enough doesn't do as it tries to be like Peanuts special when it should have been more focused on being a Garfield special.

To be fair to this special Mona does seem like she's a really cool idea for a character as she's literally just the female version of Jon. Which does make her seem like the type of girl that he would fall for with them both complimenting each others personalities perfectly and even the fact that they met in a class for people who have no personality is a good way for those characters to meet up it's just a shame that the character really hasn't appeared in any other animated Garfield media since the release of this special and heck she even could have been used in the two live action Garfield movies or the most recent The Garfield Movie as then the makers of those films could take the opportunity to add to her character and even have her finally meet up with Jon again something which they do promise to do at the end of this special and while is like Jon personality which is already a pretty fun idea but what would have made her an even more fun character was if she had her own versions of Garfield and Odie just to hit home that she really is exactly like Jon or better yet have her be the exact opposite of Jon as the special was quite clearly hinting at the two of them being an item it would have done wonders for her personality as then we'd get to see what her likes and dislikes are and what are hobbies where as here since she's meant to be exactly like Jon in pretty much everyway possible it does mean that if you think of the lamest thing possible then chances are she'll like it but what doesn't add up is if she does have cat allergies then why does she allow Garfield to snuggle up to her and why does she stroke Garfield at all when all that would is just aggravate her allergies.

Now then this special has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly twenty two minuets and twenty nine seconds. Which is pretty much the bogstandard running time for an episode of the show and this special really doesn't have alot of plot there cover that amount of running as it best this special has just enough plot to cover about five maybe ten minuets at maximum which would be fine if this was an episode of Garfield & Friends as you have the U.S. Acres half of that show to cover whatever running time you have left to fill but for a solo twenty two minuet special there really should have been some effort on the behave of the makers of this special to fully flesh out this specials plot as this special doesn't even use it's running time all that wisely with none of the new characters that meet in this special apart from Mona aren't all that well fleshed out and it could even be argued that Mona herself isn't that well fleshed out either and while the special really didn't have to flesh out either Garfield or Jn as we have the countless other special and episodes of Garfield & Friends for that there still should have been some effort into fleshing out the new characters to the point where we want to see more of them in either future episodes of specials and while alot of this specials characters are just one scene characters where they appear in just the one scene for a joke and that's it there still are characters like Mona who despite only being introduced in the specials third act was meant to have seen Jon the previous day at the beach and yet there's not that much character development for her either but I really will admit that this special really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is comedy that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very special well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very special was in all honesty not that bad. As alot of what Garfield says when he's mocking Jon in his attempts to get girls and to get a life in this special are really funny with as was previous mentioned in this review the special animation really coming alive and making this specials jokes even more funnier then what they really had any right to be as that's when we get alot of really zany movements which would seem to be out of place in any ither special barring those done by Garfield with perhaps the best joke in the whole entire special being when Garfield is actively trying to stop Jon and Mona from falling in love as he had a nightmare about what there potential kid would do to him only for him to start liking Mona the second that she starts to stroke him behind his ears which is a really funny joke even if it does make you wonder why she's doing it if she got cat allergies with another good joke coming when Garfield sees that Jon has fully organized his sock draw with both him and Jon admitting that on needs a life which is a really funny joke and something that Garfield himself would say as it really is a good example of the kind of humor that Garfield does and it's something that really does work not only for both of the characters but also for the special as a whole as well in my freaking opinions anyways /at least.

Overall while this special won't ever top any of the Charlie Brown Peanuts specials that's OK as the Garfield specials , shows and movies have always been more joke focused and in this case while the story and characters really isn't all that strong in the first place it's jokes are the best aspect of the special itself and while the special isn't all that good it is still a fairly enjoyable special in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are n this very special in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very special really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 7 out of 10 from me.
