Daredevil: Born Again Series One SPOILER FILLED Review

While the MCU used to be a place that was filled to the brim with good movies it has lately become a place where finding even an OK movie was very hard to do. Yet there seems to be one show that alot of people seem to forget all about with the show not only just concluding it's first season but also being the best thing about this current phase of MCU related projects and so then join me as I give you my SPOILER FILLED review of the show that proves that Marvel Studios can do mature content with the show in question being called simply just "Daredevil: Born Again" enjoy.

The plot of this show is after a personal tragedy Matt Murdock stops being Daredevil and Wilson Fisk unleashes his most diabolical scheme to date when he becomes mayor of New York City. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very show well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very show was in all honesty not that bad as it did a good job of keeping the original tone of the Netflix show whilst also doing it's own thing and being it's very own thing as well and while there some plots in this show that are better then others with Vanessa's main plot perhaps being the weakest one of the whole show it's the dueling plot with Matt and Wilson that is the best plot of the whole show as both characters spend the first half of the show trying not to be there former selfs whilst deeply hating it and they spend the second half of the show just going on this collision course that is obviously going to end up with them fighting each other at some point down the road and it's that plot line that is the beating the heart of the show as it's just so well done and while it doesn't take any twists or turns it really doesn't need to as all it needs tto do is build up tension for the show and that's really it and in that respect it does that really well with the plot of this show being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. 

Starring in this show is Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock/  Daredevil , Margarita Levieva as Heather Glenn and Tony Dalton as Jack Duquesne. Also starring in this show is Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page , Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson , Wilson Bethel as Benjamin Poindexter / Bullseye , Zabryna Guevara as Sheila Rivera , Nikki M. James as Kirsten McDuffie , Genneya Walton as BB Urich , Arty Froushan as Buck Cashman , Clark Johnson as Cherry , Michael Gandolfini as Daniel Blake , Kamar De Los Reyes as Hector Ayala / White Tiger , Mohan Kapur as Yusuf Khan , Ayelet Zurer as Vanessa Fisk , Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle / Punisher , Patrick Murney as Luca , Cillian O'Sullivan as Devlin , Ruibo Qian as Angie Kim , Susan Varon as Josie , Hamish Allan-Headley as Connor Powell , Hunter Doohan as Bastian Cooper / Muse , Michael Gaston as Phil Gallo , Ashley Marie Ortiz as Soledad Ayala , Camila Rodriguez as Angela Del Toro , Lou Taylor Pucci as Adam , Jeremy Isaiah Earl as Cole North , Katherine Lanasa as Artemis Sledge and Vincent D'Onofrio as Wilson Fisk / Kingpin.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very show well hen in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very show was in all honesty really good. With this shows acting being one of the true highlights of the show itself as everyone of this shows actors just hit it out of the book in every single episode and while some of this shows actors only make an appearance in one episode they make it count with it being helped by the fact that alot of this shows actors are reprising their roles from the Netflix Daredevil TV show and so they of course would know how best to perform there respective characters because they already did perform them for years and those actors really do just slip right back into character so much so that you stop seeing Vincent D'Onofrio and you start seeing Wilson Fisk as that's just how good the acting in this show with the same thing also being true for the shows newer actors as well which couldn't have been an easy thing to do as they have to act against the more established and beloved stars from the Netflix show and still somehow turn in a good performance something which they do with considerable ease with the acting that's in this very show really being helped by the fact that the scripts for the show are just so good that all this shows actors have to do is just say the lines as they are written and a good performance will come out of them naturally and a good performance will come out of them naturally which is something that really does help to raise the overall quality of the acting that's in this very show. 

Doing the CGI for this show is the legends and the greats that are currently over at RISE Visual Effects Studios and Anibrain Digital Technologies. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very show well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very show was in all honesty not that bad for the most part as while yes granted there are a few dodgy looking effects shots in the final episode the overall quality of the shows CGI is pretty good but at the same time i'd be lying if I didn't say that there some bad looking CGI shots as well as the fight scene in episode one is filled to the brim with CGI smoke which not only wasn't needed as you could have done that for that real but it also distracts from what it is that we the audience actually want to see and that's the cool fight scene currently taking place but we can't see it because of the fact that the screen is filled with obviously CGI smoke and while the show does make use of mostly practical effects alot of the time which is not only a great thing to see but it's also true to how they did things on the Netflix show as well when this show does go full on CGI there are times where it works like by extending a building or a set but then there are times where it doesn't like for the fact that in the final episode of this season they have a shot which is obviously a CGI shot because it looks like that it was done on a TV show budget and not something that you'd expect from a Marvel Studios production.

As is to be expected at this point in time this show does include a mid-credits scene during the end credits of it's final episode. Where after we see Frank Castle be captured by Wilson Fisk and his goons during the episode and we see that he's been left in a cage during the mid credits scene we see Frank talk to a random guard feigning friendship and offer the guard a handshake only for him to then brake his hand before cutting to black this is something that could be payed off in of two projects as it could be payed off in the upcoming The Punisher TV special which actor Jon Bernthal is noy only starring in but is also co-writing the script or the more likely place for it to be continued is in Daredevil: Born Again season 2 as that is going to be the final season of the show as a whole and so it would make sense for it happen there as it would tie into the main story of the show as a whole as well but it would also make sense for it to be in The Punisher TV special as it could very easily be a smaller scale story of Frank not only trying to escape from his cage but also trying to survive in a New York that is now overcome with not only crime but corruption as whole with him not being able to do anything because of the fact that Fisk's men are after only all vigilantes but also himself as well either way it is an interesting way to see where this storyline with this character could pick as realistically either one of them makes sense and either one of them would be a great place to put it as it's not something that would need explaining at all.

While there are some really good things in this first season there are just as much bad things about this first season of the show as well. Like the fact that none of the shows new characters are fully developed which might be because of the fact that this was original meant to be one single eighteen episode season before being split up into two separate season with them both being around nine episodes along which if that is the case then it might be to little to late for those characters to get any kind of development as the show would be ending by that point in time and us the audience would have decided if we like those characters are not with the other thing being the fact that the show ends good plotlines early in favor of the predictable reveal of Wilson Fisk still being a bad guy like for example for about three or four episodes they set up this mysterious villain who is going around killing people in New York and using there draining them of there blood to use for his paints that's a cool idea and a cool plot thread but the show ends it at episode seven when it would have been more then strong enough to carry the whole first season as we didn't need to know who fired Bullseye to kill Foggy during this season as that could have been saved for the shows second season and yet for some reason the makes of this show thought it was a good thing to have it be all but resolved in this first season of the show when there are other plots that could have filled that whole whilst still having the mystery of who it was that it had Foggy Nelson killed be an going mystery as that would be a great hook and a great reason to continue to watch this great show show.

Another kind of bad thing that this episode does is it does reveal who it was that hired Bullseye far to quickly as it does it at the end of episode eight. When this is something that could have been saved for the ending of this episode as that would have made for a great hook for season two and yet for some strange reason the makers of thought that it was a good choice to put a reveal that's this big and that's this important to matt's plot of the show in episode eight and while that episode was a good episode and from a narrative standpoint it does somewhat make sense to place it there as that's the only scene in which Matt and Vanessa actually spend some time together and it was fun seeing Matt basically turn into Sherlock Holmes and work out that it was Vanessa who ordered the hit out of Foggy as that is something that her character would do but at the same time it would have created more of mystery if it wasn't reveled who ordered Foggy's hit as it could even Wilson or Vanessa and either one of them would have made sense it would have been fun to see if there were any clues hidden all throughout the show as a whole to see if we the audience had missed anything the first time and while the show still doesn't given us any clues as to who it was in the first place thus meaning that this first season has to rewatch value to it it would have made the big reveal not only all the more shocking but also feel like a full circle moment if we got that reveal at the end of episode nine as the season started with Foggy in he first place it would there only seem right to end the season talking about him.

Now then this episode has / had an exact gran total running time of exactly fifty seven minuets and twenty three seconds. With each episode in average being around forty minuets with some being around the fifty minuet mark which in all fairness us also what the running time was for the average episode of the Netflix Daredevil show was as well with this episode having more then enough plot there to cover that running time but at the same time tho this episode in particular really doesn't use it's running time all that wisely as none of the side characters are given a chance to show us the audience why we should care about them outside of the fact that either working for the bad guy or are working with the good guy and that's not really enough to justify them being this active in the shows main plot and where as the Netflix Daredevil really didn't have that many if any superheroes living in New York this one has plenty of them and yet none of them show up in this episode as realistically if something like this was going on then Spider-Man would show up to help as would Sam Wilson or Bucky Barnes or even Ant-Man for example all of whom have called New York there home and yet not one of them showed up when New York needed them to yes there might be some in story reason coming from the movies to explain that away if you live in the city where you know for a fact that there are superheroes around wouldn't you all want them to help to defend it that is something that could have been done in this episode but for one reason or another it just doesn't happen but I really will admit that this episode really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is an action show then that really does mean that I gave to actually talk about the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very show and well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually feature / presented to us in this very show was in all honesty. Not that bad as while yes the action in episode one was obscured alot of the time bad CGI smoke when we could see it it looked really good and that's the same thing for alot of the action that's in this show with it all being as brutal and as bloody as you'd want to be and while it's not as well done as the Netflix show in the respect that's not as up close and personal like alot of there fights were you can still tell that it has alot of that same DNA with the best action in this show being either the fight between Muse and Daredevil in episode sense which was just such a well done fight scene that was done in just one tiny office or the fight in episode nine with Daredevil and The Punisher teaming up to take on a bunch of Fisk's goons which is a just as awsome and as cool as you really want it to be with the only issue being with that fight is the fact that's alot shorter then what it really should have been with the fight itself barely lasting a couple of minuets when a fight that's could could have lasted at the very least five minuets easily and given just how long this final episode was you really wouldn't have to loose nothing that's actually important to the plot of the episode as that's just how good that fight scene really was in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this show is so much more better then Captain America: Brave New World and is one that should be watched by all that love the MCU as it proves that when they really want that Marvel Studios and Disney can make something good that's related to the MCU it's just a shame that nine times out of ten they chose not to do so in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very show in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very show really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly 8.5 out of 10 from me.

Tom And Jerry: Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory Film Review

For some strange reason even tho Tom And Jerry have made very successful shorts back in the thirties and forties . When it comes to modern day Warner Bros just has no idea what to do with them with releasing one theatrically animated movie , one live action movie and a slew of direct to DVD movies alot of which have the dup paired up with classic characters well then in 2017 the worst of the team up movies was released and then quickly forgotten about and since it's almost ten years later I thought i'd take another look at this movie and so then join me as I review the film that destroys a classic film with the film in question being called simply just "Tom And Jerry: Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory" enjoy.

The plot of this film is when Tom and Jerry become friends Charlie Bucket the trio have to try and stop Slugworth from taking over Willy Wonka's chocolate factory for good. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad as all it is is the plot of Charlie And The Chocolate Factory only with Tom and Jerry squeezed into it which is the films biggest flaw as these two properties don't really lend themselves all that well to a crossover as both of them have very different tones to each other with the world of Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory being more fantastical and whimsical and the world of Tom And Jerry being more grounded in some form of reality with these two tones clashing all the time with the plot of this film when all this films plot needed to be was fantastical and whimsical and yet because of the fact that the film has to squeeze in Tom and Jerry and there antics the film has to stop the plot of the Willy Wonka side of things to continue the Tom and Jerry side of things and it goes the over way as well when this is a plot that should have just been focused on the Willy Wonka plot and that's really it but because Warner Bros got greedy we are now left with a plot that whilst it is predictable it's also not as bad as it really could have been with the plot of this film not really being really rather entertaining and as well as not really being really rather engaging either in my freaking opinions anyways / at least

Also starring in this film is Jess Harnell as Grandpa Joe , Bill The Candy Shop Owner and Sam Beauregarde , Lincoln Melcher as Charlie Bucket , Mick Wingert as Arthur Slugworth / Mr. Wilkinson , Lori Alan as Mrs. Teavee , Jeff Bergman as Droopy and The American Reporter ,Rachel Butera as Augustus Gloop and Winkelmann , Kate Higgins as Mrs. Bucket , Dallas Lovato as Violet Beauregarde , Emily O'Brien as Veruca Salt , Sean Schemmel as Henry Salt and Mr. Turkentine , Kath Soucie as Tuffy , Jim Ward as The Anchorman and The German Reporter , Audrey Wasilewski as Mrs. Gloop and Lauren Weisman as Mike Teavee.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad. As alot of this films actors are a bunch of really good actors in there own right but here it just feels like that there phoning in all of their performances as there performances in this film aren't as good as alot of the other projects that there in with it being made clear as day that not alot of the people that were involved with the making of this film cared enough to make sure that this films actors were turning in good performances as if they did then we would have a film where the acting is the highlight and yet because they didn't it means that even good actors like Kath Souci and Sean Schemmel just phone in there performances and yet at the same time there the best actors in this films with the same thing also being true for both Jess Harnell and JP Karliak as those actors are at the very least trying to turn in a good performance where as with the rest of this films actors none of that is coming across in the film with this films acting not even being helped by the fact that this films script is just so bad as it gives none of this films actors anything to work with interms of what it is that there respective characters personalities are even meant to be in the first place which is something that really does help to lower the overall quality of the acting that's in this very film.

Now then interns of what I personally thought / felt about the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad but at the same time tho it's not that good either as while the characters do have some really nice and fluid movements to them they also have these really creepy expressions alot of the time that make them look soulless but to give credit where it's due the film does have some really nice looking 3D CGI animation as well with the film even having some really nice looking backgrounds and yet thanks to those creepy looking expressions the films animation isn't as good as it really could have been either as we know from there other works that Digital eMation can produce some really high quality animation and yet for some strange reason for this film much like with the films acting it just felt like that they were phoning it in and just giving them some OK animation when all they had to do was fix the characters expressions and make them alot less creepy as this is a film that's meant for little kids and yet you wouldn't know it just going the expressions alone and while the film does have some really zany animation alot of the time which is something that does work for this film the films animation really doesn't sell the films more emotional moments either.

While the opening credits of this film do quite proudly state that this film is based on the book Charlie & The Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl. This is infact a lie as it's actually based off of the 1971 film adaptation Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl and David Seltzer which makes you wonder why the makers of this film chose to adapt a film that even Roald Dahl himself left over creative differences when you have the original book sitting right there and while yes the 1971 film version is the most well known version of the story heck it could even be argued that it's more well known then the book is if your going to give credit for Roald Dahl for writing the original book then you should also give credit to the original film as that's what your borrowing more elements from even down to the fact that this film just straight up recreates the opening titles of the original film which while it could be seen as being nothing more then cute homage to the original film it's not something that the people who love Tom and Jerry will like and having this beloved story be interrupted by Tom and Jerry isn't something that the people that like the Willa Wonka & The Chocolate Factory film story will like as they just don't clash together and heck even the original Chocolate Factory movie wasn't made by Warner Bros it was made by Paramount Pictures with Warner only getting the rights when they made the more faithful 2005 film Charlie And The Chocolate Factory the bottom line is that these are two sets of characters that shouldn't have been crossed over as they don't work together and when your basically just remaking Willy Wonka & The Chocolate but not showing key parts of that films story because you want to justify why Tom and Jerry are suddenly in it then all your going to do is make alot of people really angry and that's something that happened when this film was first released about eight years ago.

For some rather off reason this film adds a huge third act sequence where Tom , Jerry , Tuffy Charlie and Grandpa Joe all try to stop Slugworth and Spike from stealing the Everlasting Gobstopper. Which really isn't needed as the big reveal of not only who Slugworth is but the fact that he's actually an employee of Wonka's does make that whole subplot pointless in the first place and while yes that could also be considered an issue with the book and film as well there tho they don't have a big third finale to wrap it up they just mention it once at the end and that's it where as here because of the fact that we do have this big third act finale it now makes the following scene pointless as all we do is just get confirmation of who Slugworth is something that he himself very easily could have said at quite literally any point during this film to either Tom or Jerry but he doesn't because of quite literally no reason whatsoever if your going to add a subplot for Tom and Jerry then you have to at least still make it make sense when you then connect it back up to the main plot like they do with this film at several points in the film because if not then that whole section of the movie and indeed the whole Tom and Jerry portion of this crossover movie just falls flat on it's face and heck if you wanted to have the characters take on someone in this film then why not make it Spike since he was acting as the sidekick to Slugworth anyway so you all you do is keep Slugworth away from Tom and Jerry and have Spike be this evil sweet maker who actually is trying to steal some of Wonka's inventions as that way you still can have that big epic third act and still have the more quieter scene with Charlie , Grandpa Joe , Willy Wonka and Slugworth still happen and nothing about the main plot of the film would need to be changed either.

This film has pretty much nothing original in it as not only does this film copy the plot and alot of the character designs from Willy Wonka * The Chocolate Factory. It also straight up just reuses alot of the films songs as well except for "Cheer Up, Charlie" which out of all the songs that this film could have cut that's the one that they go with grated it's a useless song but you have "I Want It Now" played twice just get rid of the first version of that song and your good and while the singing in this film isn't that bad as all of this episodes do sing there songs as well as could be expected as was just mentioned they have "I Want It Now" sung twice in the movie with it being sung by Slugworth near the middle of the film and then done as a duet between Slugworth and Veruca Salt which is just pointless as all the song does is just hit on the same point twice and that's the fact that Slugworth we are lead to believe is greedy where as we no for a fact that Veruca is spoilt child and so just keeping the duet version of the song would not only be just as faithful to the original film as it's one of that films most well known songs but it would also go to prove that both Slugworth and Veruca are we are lead to believe the same type of greedy person and yet by doing it twice means that we are stuck with hearing the same song sang the exact same twice with it putting it across the exact same message twice and heck it even has the exact same outcome twice with either Veruca or Slugworth getting put down something and while alot of the films other songs aren't done that badly like for example "Pure Imagination" is done really well the film does cut part from the "(I've Got a) Golden Ticket" number as we now don't get to see Grandpa Joe move even tho they keep in the original lyric with him asking Charlie to see his speed.

Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour and nineteen minuets and sixteen seconds. Which for this film is far to short of a running time to have as this film has more then enough plot there to not only cover that amount of running time but more and with the film cutting out whole sections of the original film it means that this film can't use it's running time all that wisely as the characters that are fully developed in the original film now don't get that character development because of the fat that the film now has to squeeze in two new characters in Tom and Jerry and Tom and Jerry themselves can't get any characters development because of the fact that they have to fight for screen time with the original films characters and yet if the film was even just fifteen minuets to ten minuets longer then it could have had some character development for all of it's character but for one reason or another the makers of this film chose not go that route and instead give us characters that can't be fully developed because of the fact that this film isn't willing to spend the time to make them memorable yes this film is based off of two very popular IP's but you still have to put in the work to make the characters good and memorable characters in the first place and when you can't that because of the fact that both sides of this crossover movie are fighting for screen time then there's something that's deeply wrong with your film but I really will admit that this film really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is a comedy that really does mean that have to actually talk about the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad. As while it's not as good as the comedy in other Tom And Jerry shorts it's also alot more better then the comedy that we got in both Tom And Jerry: The Movie and Tom & Jerry as here the slapstick comedy is very well animated with Tom and Jerry being a bit more toned down interms of violence which does oddly enough make the comedy feel a little less funny as everybody knows just how far those two characters would be willing to go to hurt in each in a factory setting like the one that this film ha as it's main setting but for one reason or another Warner Bros has decided to tone down the amount of violence that the two can do to each other and while we do get the same other top violence that we are used to from the other Tom and Jerry shorts alot of there stuff which is some of the best stuff in the movie is cut out as it has to make room for the stuff from the original Willy Wonka film and while the comedy from those characters isn't that bad you don't come to a Tom and Jerry movie to see Grandpa Joe struggle to find The Golden Ticket in his pocket as you instead come to it to watch Tom and Jerry and funny slapstick and that's really it and that is something that this film can't fully devote it's time as it has to squeeze in the plot from other of the crossover thus turning what could have been very funny jokes into jokes that just aren't as funny as they really could have been in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall out of all their animated outings this is by far one of the worst movies that Tom And Jerry have ever been in and yes that includes Tom And Jerry: The Movie but at the same time tho when the makers of this film gets it right they really do get it right as the Tom and Jerry stuff is the best aspect of the movie it's just the human character stuff that doesn't work with neither one of these properties working all that well together in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very film really does earn itself a gran old score of exactly a 4 out of 10 from me.

Doctor Who: The Robot Revolution SPOILER FULLED Review

The time that alot of us have been waiting for is now here as the new episode of the latest series of Doctor Who has finally dropped. With this series actually giving a much more better start time to it's home UK audience then what the previous series did and well then you all just knew that I had to check out this episode the very chance that I got and so then join me as I give you SPOILER FILLED review of the episode that has an old face play a new companion with the episode in question being called simply just "The Robot Revolution" enjoy.

The plot of this episode is when us she is kidnapped by Alien robots Belinda Chandra it's up to The Doctor to rescue her before it's far to late. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was i all honesty not that bad but at the same time it's also not as good nor is it as bonkers as the title would have you believe that it's going to be as just by going by the title alone you'd expect a plot that's very similar in tone to say Space Babies for example and yet what we got was a plot that was alot more darker in tone which is great for an episode as that's something that you'd want from the first episode of the main series but at the same time tho given the episodes tile you'd think that the episode would have a plot that's alot more out there which is something that it really could have done with given the fact that this is meant to not only introduce a new companion but to also set up the plot for this series and yet by playing everything straight it oddly makes the episode alot less fun to watch where as with Space Babies while yes it did have a plot that was more suited to a Christmas special rather then the plot of the main show that episodes plot at least new to be light enough to be a fun filled watch where as with this episode the plot is played super straight with the plot of this episode also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Also starring in this episode is Max Parker as Manny , Thalia Dudek as Kirby Blake, Stefan Haines as Jeffin Kunjumon , Belinda Owusu as A Receptionist , Tom Storey as Tombo , Stephen Love as Robot 1 , Robert Strange as Robot 2 , Nicholas Briggs as The Voice Of The Robots , Evelyn Miller as Sasha 55 , Charles Sandford as Robot 3 , Lucas Edwards as Robot 4 , Caleb Hughes as Scoley , Nadine Higgin as Shago and William Ellis as The Alien Prime Minister.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad. With Ncuti Gatwa turning as good of a performance as the doctor as he did in series one with it being very clear that he's alot more comfortable and confident in the role now then what he was back in his first series of the show and while Varada Sethu was great in Boom as the main companion tho as with any new companion it will take some getting used to as even tho she is perfectly serviceable in this episode the episode itself doesn't really give her a chance to shine where as with Ruby Sunday she had the scene where she jumps onto  ladder to save a baby here tho there's no scene like that and while she is good in this episode her acting in this episode does come across as the kind of acting that you'd find in alot of first episodes in new shows and while the episodes guest actors do indeed turn in some really good performances in this episode as well not one of them have any truly standout moments either with the best actors in this whole episode being Ncuti Gatwa who at this point is just acting circles around everyone he's on screen with him being to have chemistry with a piece of paper as he can and does have chemistry with anyone that he's on screen with with the acting that's in this very episode not really being helped by the fact that this episodes is just so bad as it gives none of this episodes actors absolutely nothin to work with interms of what it is that there respective characters personalities are even meant to he in the first place which is something that really does hurt the overall quality of the acting that's in this very episode.

For once it is actually hard to say just who it was that did the CGIA for this episode as there's no effects company listed anywhere online. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual actual CGU that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad for the most part a there are some scenes that do look a little bit to fake like the opening effect with the TRDIS at the start of the episode for example the episode on the whole does have some really decent CGI in it however tho it was hard to tell just where all of that Disney money was going as with not only the sixtieth anniversary specials but also in the first series and to a lesser extent Joy To The World as well you could see in the effects where that Disney money was going where as here you can't really see it as while yes there are one or two decent looking effects to be found in this episode it is quite literally just one or two with the rest of the episodes effects looking OK at best which would have been fine if this was made back in 2005 and had no Disney money coming into the show but it's not and while it's not uncommon for TV shows to have just OK CGI due to the fact that they have to spread that budget out over several episodes here since this was the first episode this is the one that should got a huge chunk of that effects budget as you only get one chance to make a good first impression and that is something that this episode didn't really do from an effects point of view.

There was one name that was purposefully left of the cast list when it came to crediting the actors that are in this episode and that is Anita Dobson as Mrs. Flood. As she shows up very early on in this episode with it being reveled that she lives right next door to Belinda however what is noticeable is that she leaves right before The Doctor gets a chance to see her which is enough to make you wonder if the version of the character that we're seeing in this episode is the same one that lives next door to Ruby Sunday or is it a different version of her as we know due to how the last series ended that she has special and violent plans in place for earth and it's destruction and so it would make sense for there to be multiple versions of her all around the world as that way she can scout the earth for any weaknesses and attack when ready with one theory about the character that was also present during the first series but has kind of come back in the lead to this series being the fact that she is actually The Rani with this theory only coming back because the trailers for the show had a red light coming out at the end similar to how there was yellow light coming out at the end of the last series trailers which is something that would explain why she knows all about the TARDIS and why she hates The Doctor and even The Rani herself is a good enough actress that she could pull off playing her full time but weather or not the show decides to bring back what is quite possibly a really obscure classic Doctor Who villain does remain to be seen.

There was no way that I could do a review about this episode and not talk about the new companion Belinda Chandra. As while she does seem like she would be a really fun edition to the team we the audience don't really get the chance to find all that much about her character which does make it hard to form a connection with her which granted was always going to be really hard to do in the first place given that this is the first episode of a new series but from a writing standpoint this episodes writer Russell T. Davies really should have given us a reason to want to see her get home as we don't really get that in this episode with it instead coming across as her being quite bossy and just telling The Doctor what to do and while the character can at times be seen as being quite spunky and quite opinionated she comes across as a character that would have felt right at home in 2020 but feels out of place in 2025 due to alot of the language that she uses just to eb clear she's not that bad of a character as she does have moments where she can be quite fun and funny to watch as well but we the audience aren't really given a reason to care for her which would be find if she was a one off companion but for a full time companion there does need to be a reason given in there debut episode as to why we the audience should want to see more of her as we're being asked to spend several episodes with her as a character and while yes granted she might improve as a character in later episodes this first episode does leave alot to be desired or her character.

As was pretty much expected when they announced that Varada Sethu was returning to play the companion in this series. They do connect her to her previous Doctor Who character Mundy Flynn by saying that Mundy is one of her many descendants which was a nice little easter egg for the fans but then again it just wasn't something that needed in the episode as while yes they did the same thing back in series 3 with Freema Agyeman who played a different character in "Army Of Ghosts" back in series two of modern Doctor Who but then was cast to play the new companion at the start of the very next series with it being explained that her character in Army Of Ghosts was in fact the cousin of her Marth Jones character but just like that reveal this reveal doesn't add anything to the plot of this episode and is there just incase a few fans spotted that it was the same actress playing a different character and while the connection to Boom was a nice touch as that was by far one of the more better episodes of the previous series it's not something that was needed in this episode as this is an episode that should have been all about setting up Belinda as a character and fully fleshing out her character and yet connecting her to a much more better written character just felt like something that Russell T. Davies chose to do as he and Steven Moffat are good friends and not because of the fact that it adds anything to quite literally either character as that connection could be removed from either character and nothing would be changed and while it could also be argued that the same thing is also true for Freema Agyeman as well in her case they were cousins where as here they quite literally share the same DNA something which The Doctor rather gleefully points out.

Now then this episode has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly forty six minuets and two seconds. Which is pretty much the exact grand total running time for the show at this point and to this episodes credit it really does have just the right amount of plot there to cover that amount of running time even if this episode is just giving of very strong Smith And Jones vibes alot of the time however tho this episode really doesn't use it's running time all that wisely as the plot of the episode isn't as fully developed as it really could have been with the plot of the episode coming across as being a bit on the weak side as it just comes across as things happening for little to no reason and while the episode does have some good ideas to it like the fact that the robots can't hear every ninth word is a really good idea it's one that's not really all that fully developed and so it just comes across as an excuse to get the rebels into the throne room with out the robots even realizing what's going on in the first place and none of this episodes side characters are fully developed either with the best of example of this being both the muscle bound vest guy who does have a name but is so forgettable that it's not even worth looking up what it is and Sasha 55 who despite her death being the main emotional force for The Doctor in this episode we the audience don't get to spend alot of time with her as a character and so what was meant to be seen as this bein emotional moment instead just comes of as being hollow as we the audience were never given a reason to care for her character in the first place but I really will admit that this episode really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is an action show that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad. With this episode having a really well done action scene near the middle of the episode where The Doctor and some rebels basically storm the throne room and try to take out a bunch of robots just to save Belinda which was a really well done sequence with it being clear as day that all of the actors that were involved with that sequence where just having a blast filming it as it's something that you see all over there faces but in saying that it would have been alot more better if we got to knew some of the rebels characters that don't make it out of that sequence as that would have made there deaths all the more impactful and given that this Doctor carries on his own tradition of carrying at the end of it it would have made him carrying make alot more sense if we did get to see him and Sasha 55 spend alot more time together like we did in the Christmas special with him and Anita Benn from Joy To The World where we got to see them together for alot of the episode and so it hurt all the more when we saw them go there separate ways it should have been the same thing here with him and Sasha 55 but credit where it's due tho the action scene that her death takes place in was not only a really good action scene in it's own right but was also the best action scene in the whole entire episode as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall while it is great to see this show back on the air again who knows when or even if the show will return for a third batch of episodes and so regardless of the quality of the episode we all owe it to this show to watch this episode on either BBC IPlayer or on Disney+ as early as we can do and those that don't have BBC IPlayer go and watch it on BBC One and then call up all your friends and family and get them to watch it where ever they can because right now the show really needs us more then ever with this episode being a pretty solid start to the new series as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then  i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very episode in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very episode really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 7.5 out of 0 from me.

The Powerpuff Girls 1998 TV Series "Bubblevicious" And "The Bare Facts" Review

Hollywood Studios these days seem to think that we haven't had a female superhero movie or show ever and yet they seem to forget about one little show that not only had well written characters but was also funny and action packed and where the best characters in the show were female. With that show of course being The Powerpuff Girls a show that was so good that they of course tried and failed to ruin it's legacy with a live action version and a 2016 reboot and so then join me as I review the episodes that sees the cutest member of the group go hardcore and that sees the girls trying to tell a story with the episodes in question being called simply just "Bubblevicious" and "The Bare Facts" enjoy.

The plot of "Bubblevicious" is when she's sick and tired of being underestimated by her sisters Bubbles takes thing to far by proving that she's hardcore and in "The Bare Facts" when The Mayor is rescued by the girls by Mojo Jojo he tries to get them to tell him why they were all laughing. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plots that are actually featured / presented to us in these very episodes well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plots that are actually featured / in thee very episodes was in all honesty not that bad with "Bubblevicious" quite clearly having the better plot of the two segments as it was a plot that not only does a character dive into Bubbles as a character but it's also a plot that was really well handled and while the plot of "The Bare Facts" is clearly meant to be the more lighthearted of the two which is something that does make alot of sense it's paired with a plot that's quite serious and does play alot it's plot straight it's still not that good of a plot with it being rather light on plot where as with the first segment it was very plot heavy almost to the point where it could have been considered a special episode of the show but even so having an episode that's not as plot heavy be paired with one that is is something that does work well enough for this show as it's one that does allow for the setup of the episode to really be what carries it and makes it stand out from alot of the other animated shows out there due to the fact that it was told entirely in the first person with the plot of both episodes being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions.

Also starring in these episodes is voice acting legend and My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic star Tom Kane as Professor Utonium and Talking Dog , Scream icon Roger L. Jackson as Mojo Jojo Spongebob Squarepants star Tom Kenny as The Narrator and The Mayor and Jennifer Martin as Ms. Bellum.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about he actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in thee very episodes well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in thee very episodes was in all honesty really good. With all of this episodes actors turning in some really good performances in these very episodes which is something that's not really all that new as these are a bunch of really good actors in there own right and with alot of them being not only really good voice actors but just in general really good actors as ell it does make sense that alot of the would turn in some really good performances even this early on in the shows run with actually being hard to tell who was the best overall performer in both of these two episodes is as in Bubblevicious it's quite easily Tara Strong but in The Bare Facts it's Tom Kenny both for literally different reasons as Tara manages to bring out an entirely different side to Bubbles whilst still doing her typical Bubbles voice whilst Tom Kenny manages to get across just how frustrated his Mayor character really is whilst still getting some really big laughs in The Bare Facts both of which do combine to make it hard to tell just who the best actor is in both of these episode altho it is being made crystal clear that is no bad performance in either of these two episodes tho with the acting that's in thee two episodes really being helped by the fact that the scripts for both of these episodes is just so good that all this episodes actors really have to do is just say the lines as they are written and a good performance rally come out of them more naturally as that's just how good the acting is in both of these episodes.

Doing the animation for both of thee episodes is the legends and the greats that are currently over at Rough Draft Korea. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in these very episodes well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in these very episodes was in all honesty not that bad as the shows animation which was already really high is more then met with the animation in these two episodes with the animation in The Bare Facts oddly enough being alot more better then the animation in Bubblevicious just because of the fact that in The Bare Facts they do get to play around a bit with the animation style with the style changing depending on which of the three girl is telling the story at that moment in time like for example with Buttercup they alot of harsh shadows thus making it look alot like a crime noir film and with Blossom everything is framed to make her look like the centre of attention and with Bubbles it's done in the style of a kids drawing which was a really cool and was a great way to see all of these different art styles come together beautifully as none of them feel out of the character for the girl that's telling the story and while Bubblevicious does indeed have some really good looking animation in it it's nothing that compares to just how good the animation was in The Bare Facts but in saying that tho the animation in Bubblevicious does come more alive and more extreme during that episodes action scenes something that doesn't happen in The Bare Facts.

Whilst thus is a comedy show and both of this shows two segments do have there moments of levity in them. It's quite easily the second segment of this episode The Bare Facts that has the more funnier moments in it as that is the more lighthearted episode with a premise that does allow it self to have some more humor in it not that there isn't any on the first segment because there it's just that that segment is more action focused where as the second segment is more comedy focused which is something that does work for that segment with that while segment from the second that The Mayor is brought back to his office by the girls being one drawn out joke as both Blossom and Bubbles try not to laugh whilst all three of the girls are telling the story of how they've just rescued The Mayor whilst all he wants to hear is what it is that's made them all laugh so hard only for it the girls to keep on stalling to the point where they just straight up get tired of being in his office and leave to go home with it then being revealed that the reason that they were laughing is because of the fact that Mojo Jojo along with taking The Mayor also took The Mayor clothes of him which to be frank is good set up and punch line as while OK granted the punchline could be seen as being a bit childish given the fact that the girls are children it is something that does work in the episodes favor as that is something that a child might possibly find funny and while the previous segment does have some good jokes in it as well like with Bubbles just straight up annoying Buttercup by talking to her about all of the things that she's just seen Buttercup do in the training room to even the fact that she stops being hardcore when her sisters say that they like her and are sorry for underestimating her.

The very idea of Bubbles going out of her way to prove that she's just as tough with her sisters really is such a good idea. That it could have been the plot for a special episode of the show as that's just how much of a good idea that it is and yet by cramming it all into the first segment of a two segment show oddly feels like a disservice to the idea as a whole as it then means that it can't be fully developed as the episode has to rush along to the next plot point like how cool would have been to have actually seen Bubbles try to save Townsville on her own only to some of time because of the fact that her sisters aren't there to help her and it would have made her downfall in the episode going from someone who the people of Townsville like for she is instead get turned into a Tyrant who gets very easily mad at people because of the fact that they see her as her cute and adorable elf and if that segment was a special episode it would then make the entire plot of that segment feel all the more epic as now you have the girls having to face quite literally there toughest challenge yet that being Bubbles and while having the episode the episode be the first segment of a two segment show doesn't really hurt the segment in any meaningful way it would have made the segment alot more better if it was it's own episode but given that Cartoon Network weren't doing special episodes of there TV shows back when this show was being released having it air as a regular episode is somethin that was the best way for an idea that's this good to be released in the first place.

In what must surely be a coincidence the main villain of both of these segments just so happens to be Mojo Jojo. Which is fine as he is a serviceable and funny villain but at the same time having a bit of verity in there wouldn't have gone a miss as there was no need to have him by the main villain of The Bare Facts as that honor very easily could have gone to someone like Fuzzy Lumpkins with nothing really needing to be changed about the plot of that particualr segment as both he and Mojo are funny villains that the girls are known for fighting and both villains would be able to get to The Mayor very easily and it would still make the joke at the end of that segment work perfectly fine but for one reason of another the makers of these episodes thought that it was a good idea to have Mojo Jojo be the main villain for both segments which works fine as even tho he doesn't really have an evil scheme in the first segment as all he wants to do is just get rid of the girls and that's really it he does have an evil scheme in the second segment where he wants to take of control of Townsville which does make sense for his character as by doing that he can then make it law so that the girls can't attack him and stop his evil schemes but with that mind it in the first segment where he used more effectively as even tho it's the second segment where he has an evil plan here he plays more of crucial role in the plot of the second as he unknowingly taunts a still angry Bubbles by kidnapping her and torturing her by putting his laser machine on to it's highest setting all to get Bubbles to cry out for her sisters which is a good plan as he can then capture all three of them and do whatever he wants to do where as in The Bare Facts he doesn't really get that much of a chance to showoff just how smart he actually is something that he does wonderfully in Bubblevicious.

Now then this episode has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly twenty two minuets exactly. With each segment being around eleven minuets in length with is the perfect time for both of these segments to last as both segments have just the right amount of plot there to cover that eleven minuet running time but with that being said tho Bubblevicious really doesn't use it's running time all that wisely as we don't get to see the girls come to the realization that they were in the wrong in a way that felt natural as all we've seen is Bubbles acting out thus it would have made more sense for her to be the one in the wrong as she openly beats up two innocent people and hurts Blossom when the two of them were just playing game where as all Blossom did was look out for Bubbles and that's really it yet if we actually saw both her and Buttercup underestimate Bubbles say during a fight with monsters or even doing something that normal people would do and we see that escalate throughout the segment then it would make there apology not only feel warranted but earned as well and with the second segment even tho that one doesn't use in it's running time all that wisely either as it doesn't fully develop it's plot all that well it really doesn't need to give the fact that we see everything from the point of view of The Mayor and so when he doesn't see something we don't see it and given just how lighthearted the plot of that segment is in the first place it's not really something that really needed to be that fully developed in the first place as it's just meant to be a fun and silly segment of the show but I really will admit that both of these segments really do have some really good pacing to them tho.

So now then as this is an action show that really does mean that I have to actually talk about all of the action that's actually featured / presented to us in these vert episodes well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in these very episodes was in all honesty really good. With it being quite obvious that Bubble vicious has the best action out of the two segments mostly because of the fact that we actually get to see the action in it where as with The Bare Facts since The Mayor himself can't see it we the audience don't get the chance to see it with the action in Bubblevicious standing out because of the fact that we do get to see just how tough Bubbles can be when she really pushes herself to do so with her taking on several training monsters all on her own and even not only taking on but beating Mojo Jojo on her own twice which was a really good thing to see but what would have made the action in that segment alot more better was if we got to see the girls fight at the start of the episode as that could then contrast with Bubbles fighting random people when she's angry in the middle of the episode with there being alot of good action scenes just in that one segment alone that it would be hard to say which was the best one but if push comes to shove it would have to be the second fight that Bubbles and Mojo have just because of the fact that it is a pretty funny fight with Bubbles just straight up yelling at him for attacking them when they're making it up which really is a funny idea and it's one that makes sense in the context of the scene that it's in as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall out of the two segments Bubblevicious is quite easily the better one as it has not only the better plot to it but is also has the better action to it as well but in saying that The Bare Facts is better then Bubble vicious in that it has the more laugh out loud moments in and a great mixture of art styles as well with both segments offering something that the over just doesn't have in my freaking opinions anyways / at least Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in these very segments in this very review and a such that really does mean that Bubblevicious earns itself a grand old score of exactly a 7 out of 10 from me and The Bare Facts earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 6 out of 10 from with both segments earning themselves a grand total score of exactly a 6.5 out of 10 from me.
