Doctor Who: The Robot Revolution SPOILER FULLED Review

The time that alot of us have been waiting for is now here as the new episode of the latest series of Doctor Who has finally dropped. With this series actually giving a much more better start time to it's home UK audience then what the previous series did and well then you all just knew that I had to check out this episode the very chance that I got and so then join me as I give you SPOILER FILLED review of the episode that has an old face play a new companion with the episode in question being called simply just "The Robot Revolution" enjoy.

The plot of this episode is when us she is kidnapped by Alien robots Belinda Chandra it's up to The Doctor to rescue her before it's far to late. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was i all honesty not that bad but at the same time it's also not as good nor is it as bonkers as the title would have you believe that it's going to be as just by going by the title alone you'd expect a plot that's very similar in tone to say Space Babies for example and yet what we got was a plot that was alot more darker in tone which is great for an episode as that's something that you'd want from the first episode of the main series but at the same time tho given the episodes tile you'd think that the episode would have a plot that's alot more out there which is something that it really could have done with given the fact that this is meant to not only introduce a new companion but to also set up the plot for this series and yet by playing everything straight it oddly makes the episode alot less fun to watch where as with Space Babies while yes it did have a plot that was more suited to a Christmas special rather then the plot of the main show that episodes plot at least new to be light enough to be a fun filled watch where as with this episode the plot is played super straight with the plot of this episode also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this episode is Ncuti Gatwa as The Doctor , Varada Sethu as Belinda Chandra and Jonny Green as Alan Budd. Also starring in this episode is Max Parker as Manny , Thalia Dudek as Kirby Blake, Stefan Haines as Jeffin Kunjumon , Belinda Owusu as A Receptionist , Tom Storey as Tombo , Stephen Love as Robot 1 , Robert Strange as Robot 2 , Nicholas Briggs as The Voice Of The Robots , Evelyn Miller as Sasha 55 , Charles Sandford as Robot 3 , Lucas Edwards as Robot 4 , Caleb Hughes as Scoley , Nadine Higgin as Shago and William Ellis as The Alien Prime Minister.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad. With Ncuti Gatwa turning as good of a performance as the doctor as he did in series one with it being very clear that he's alot more comfortable and confident in the role now then what he was back in his first series of the show and while Varada Sethu was great in Boom as the main companion tho as with any new companion it will take some getting used to as even tho she is perfectly serviceable in this episode the episode itself doesn't really give her a chance to shine where as with Ruby Sunday she had the scene where she jumps onto  ladder to save a baby here tho there's no scene like that and while she is good in this episode her acting in this episode does come across as the kind of acting that you'd find in alot of first episodes in new shows and while the episodes guest actors do indeed turn in some really good performances in this episode as well not one of them have any truly standout moments either with the best actors in this whole episode being Ncuti Gatwa who at this point is just acting circles around everyone he's on screen with him being to have chemistry with a piece of paper as he can and does have chemistry with anyone that he's on screen with with the acting that's in this very episode not really being helped by the fact that this episodes is just so bad as it gives none of this episodes actors absolutely nothin to work with interms of what it is that there respective characters personalities are even meant to he in the first place which is something that really does hurt the overall quality of the acting that's in this very episode.

For once it is actually hard to say just who it was that did the CGIA for this episode as there's no effects company listed anywhere online. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual actual CGU that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad for the most part a there are some scenes that do look a little bit to fake like the opening effect with the TRDIS at the start of the episode for example the episode on the whole does have some really decent CGI in it however tho it was hard to tell just where all of that Disney money was going as with not only the sixtieth anniversary specials but also in the first series and to a lesser extent Joy To The World as well you could see in the effects where that Disney money was going where as here you can't really see it as while yes there are one or two decent looking effects to be found in this episode it is quite literally just one or two with the rest of the episodes effects looking OK at best which would have been fine if this was made back in 2005 and had no Disney money coming into the show but it's not and while it's not uncommon for TV shows to have just OK CGI due to the fact that they have to spread that budget out over several episodes here since this was the first episode this is the one that should got a huge chunk of that effects budget as you only get one chance to make a good first impression and that is something that this episode didn't really do from an effects point of view.

There was one name that was purposefully left of the cast list when it came to crediting the actors that are in this episode and that is Anita Dobson as Mrs. Flood. As she shows up very early on in this episode with it being reveled that she lives right next door to Belinda however what is noticeable is that she leaves right before The Doctor gets a chance to see her which is enough to make you wonder if the version of the character that we're seeing in this episode is the same one that lives next door to Ruby Sunday or is it a different version of her as we know due to how the last series ended that she has special and violent plans in place for earth and it's destruction and so it would make sense for there to be multiple versions of her all around the world as that way she can scout the earth for any weaknesses and attack when ready with one theory about the character that was also present during the first series but has kind of come back in the lead to this series being the fact that she is actually The Rani with this theory only coming back because the trailers for the show had a red light coming out at the end similar to how there was yellow light coming out at the end of the last series trailers which is something that would explain why she knows all about the TARDIS and why she hates The Doctor and even The Rani herself is a good enough actress that she could pull off playing her full time but weather or not the show decides to bring back what is quite possibly a really obscure classic Doctor Who villain does remain to be seen.

There was no way that I could do a review about this episode and not talk about the new companion Belinda Chandra. As while she does seem like she would be a really fun edition to the team we the audience don't really get the chance to find all that much about her character which does make it hard to form a connection with her which granted was always going to be really hard to do in the first place given that this is the first episode of a new series but from a writing standpoint this episodes writer Russell T. Davies really should have given us a reason to want to see her get home as we don't really get that in this episode with it instead coming across as her being quite bossy and just telling The Doctor what to do and while the character can at times be seen as being quite spunky and quite opinionated she comes across as a character that would have felt right at home in 2020 but feels out of place in 2025 due to alot of the language that she uses just to eb clear she's not that bad of a character as she does have moments where she can be quite fun and funny to watch as well but we the audience aren't really given a reason to care for her which would be find if she was a one off companion but for a full time companion there does need to be a reason given in there debut episode as to why we the audience should want to see more of her as we're being asked to spend several episodes with her as a character and while yes granted she might improve as a character in later episodes this first episode does leave alot to be desired or her character.

As was pretty much expected when they announced that Varada Sethu was returning to play the companion in this series. They do connect her to her previous Doctor Who character Mundy Flynn by saying that Mundy is one of her many descendants which was a nice little easter egg for the fans but then again it just wasn't something that needed in the episode as while yes they did the same thing back in series 3 with Freema Agyeman who played a different character in "Army Of Ghosts" back in series two of modern Doctor Who but then was cast to play the new companion at the start of the very next series with it being explained that her character in Army Of Ghosts was in fact the cousin of her Marth Jones character but just like that reveal this reveal doesn't add anything to the plot of this episode and is there just incase a few fans spotted that it was the same actress playing a different character and while the connection to Boom was a nice touch as that was by far one of the more better episodes of the previous series it's not something that was needed in this episode as this is an episode that should have been all about setting up Belinda as a character and fully fleshing out her character and yet connecting her to a much more better written character just felt like something that Russell T. Davies chose to do as he and Steven Moffat are good friends and not because of the fact that it adds anything to quite literally either character as that connection could be removed from either character and nothing would be changed and while it could also be argued that the same thing is also true for Freema Agyeman as well in her case they were cousins where as here they quite literally share the same DNA something which The Doctor rather gleefully points out.

Now then this episode has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly forty six minuets and two seconds. Which is pretty much the exact grand total running time for the show at this point and to this episodes credit it really does have just the right amount of plot there to cover that amount of running time even if this episode is just giving of very strong Smith And Jones vibes alot of the time however tho this episode really doesn't use it's running time all that wisely as the plot of the episode isn't as fully developed as it really could have been with the plot of the episode coming across as being a bit on the weak side as it just comes across as things happening for little to no reason and while the episode does have some good ideas to it like the fact that the robots can't hear every ninth word is a really good idea it's one that's not really all that fully developed and so it just comes across as an excuse to get the rebels into the throne room with out the robots even realizing what's going on in the first place and none of this episodes side characters are fully developed either with the best of example of this being both the muscle bound vest guy who does have a name but is so forgettable that it's not even worth looking up what it is and Sasha 55 who despite her death being the main emotional force for The Doctor in this episode we the audience don't get to spend alot of time with her as a character and so what was meant to be seen as this bein emotional moment instead just comes of as being hollow as we the audience were never given a reason to care for her character in the first place but I really will admit that this episode really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is an action show that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad. With this episode having a really well done action scene near the middle of the episode where The Doctor and some rebels basically storm the throne room and try to take out a bunch of robots just to save Belinda which was a really well done sequence with it being clear as day that all of the actors that were involved with that sequence where just having a blast filming it as it's something that you see all over there faces but in saying that it would have been alot more better if we got to knew some of the rebels characters that don't make it out of that sequence as that would have made there deaths all the more impactful and given that this Doctor carries on his own tradition of carrying at the end of it it would have made him carrying make alot more sense if we did get to see him and Sasha 55 spend alot more time together like we did in the Christmas special with him and Anita Benn from Joy To The World where we got to see them together for alot of the episode and so it hurt all the more when we saw them go there separate ways it should have been the same thing here with him and Sasha 55 but credit where it's due tho the action scene that her death takes place in was not only a really good action scene in it's own right but was also the best action scene in the whole entire episode as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall while it is great to see this show back on the air again who knows when or even if the show will return for a third batch of episodes and so regardless of the quality of the episode we all owe it to this show to watch this episode on either BBC IPlayer or on Disney+ as early as we can do and those that don't have BBC IPlayer go and watch it on BBC One and then call up all your friends and family and get them to watch it where ever they can because right now the show really needs us more then ever with this episode being a pretty solid start to the new series as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then  i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very episode in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very episode really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 7.5 out of 0 from me.

The Powerpuff Girls 1998 TV Series "Bubblevicious" And "The Bare Facts" Review

Hollywood Studios these days seem to think that we haven't had a female superhero movie or show ever and yet they seem to forget about one little show that not only had well written characters but was also funny and action packed and where the best characters in the show were female. With that show of course being The Powerpuff Girls a show that was so good that they of course tried and failed to ruin it's legacy with a live action version and a 2016 reboot and so then join me as I review the episodes that sees the cutest member of the group go hardcore and that sees the girls trying to tell a story with the episodes in question being called simply just "Bubblevicious" and "The Bare Facts" enjoy.

The plot of "Bubblevicious" is when she's sick and tired of being underestimated by her sisters Bubbles takes thing to far by proving that she's hardcore and in "The Bare Facts" when The Mayor is rescued by the girls by Mojo Jojo he tries to get them to tell him why they were all laughing. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plots that are actually featured / presented to us in these very episodes well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plots that are actually featured / in thee very episodes was in all honesty not that bad with "Bubblevicious" quite clearly having the better plot of the two segments as it was a plot that not only does a character dive into Bubbles as a character but it's also a plot that was really well handled and while the plot of "The Bare Facts" is clearly meant to be the more lighthearted of the two which is something that does make alot of sense it's paired with a plot that's quite serious and does play alot it's plot straight it's still not that good of a plot with it being rather light on plot where as with the first segment it was very plot heavy almost to the point where it could have been considered a special episode of the show but even so having an episode that's not as plot heavy be paired with one that is is something that does work well enough for this show as it's one that does allow for the setup of the episode to really be what carries it and makes it stand out from alot of the other animated shows out there due to the fact that it was told entirely in the first person with the plot of both episodes being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions.

Starring in these episodes is E.G. Daily as Buttercup , Catherine Cavadini as Blossom and Tara Strong as Bubbles. Also starring in these episodes is voice acting legend and My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic star Tom Kane as Professor Utonium and Talking Dog , Scream icon Roger L. Jackson as Mojo Jojo Spongebob Squarepants star Tom Kenny as The Narrator and The Mayor and Jennifer Martin as Ms. Bellum.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about he actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in thee very episodes well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in thee very episodes was in all honesty really good. With all of this episodes actors turning in some really good performances in these very episodes which is something that's not really all that new as these are a bunch of really good actors in there own right and with alot of them being not only really good voice actors but just in general really good actors as ell it does make sense that alot of the would turn in some really good performances even this early on in the shows run with actually being hard to tell who was the best overall performer in both of these two episodes is as in Bubblevicious it's quite easily Tara Strong but in The Bare Facts it's Tom Kenny both for literally different reasons as Tara manages to bring out an entirely different side to Bubbles whilst still doing her typical Bubbles voice whilst Tom Kenny manages to get across just how frustrated his Mayor character really is whilst still getting some really big laughs in The Bare Facts both of which do combine to make it hard to tell just who the best actor is in both of these episode altho it is being made crystal clear that is no bad performance in either of these two episodes tho with the acting that's in thee two episodes really being helped by the fact that the scripts for both of these episodes is just so good that all this episodes actors really have to do is just say the lines as they are written and a good performance rally come out of them more naturally as that's just how good the acting is in both of these episodes.

Doing the animation for both of thee episodes is the legends and the greats that are currently over at Rough Draft Korea. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in these very episodes well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in these very episodes was in all honesty not that bad as the shows animation which was already really high is more then met with the animation in these two episodes with the animation in The Bare Facts oddly enough being alot more better then the animation in Bubblevicious just because of the fact that in The Bare Facts they do get to play around a bit with the animation style with the style changing depending on which of the three girl is telling the story at that moment in time like for example with Buttercup they alot of harsh shadows thus making it look alot like a crime noir film and with Blossom everything is framed to make her look like the centre of attention and with Bubbles it's done in the style of a kids drawing which was a really cool and was a great way to see all of these different art styles come together beautifully as none of them feel out of the character for the girl that's telling the story and while Bubblevicious does indeed have some really good looking animation in it it's nothing that compares to just how good the animation was in The Bare Facts but in saying that tho the animation in Bubblevicious does come more alive and more extreme during that episodes action scenes something that doesn't happen in The Bare Facts.

Whilst thus is a comedy show and both of this shows two segments do have there moments of levity in them. It's quite easily the second segment of this episode The Bare Facts that has the more funnier moments in it as that is the more lighthearted episode with a premise that does allow it self to have some more humor in it not that there isn't any on the first segment because there it's just that that segment is more action focused where as the second segment is more comedy focused which is something that does work for that segment with that while segment from the second that The Mayor is brought back to his office by the girls being one drawn out joke as both Blossom and Bubbles try not to laugh whilst all three of the girls are telling the story of how they've just rescued The Mayor whilst all he wants to hear is what it is that's made them all laugh so hard only for it the girls to keep on stalling to the point where they just straight up get tired of being in his office and leave to go home with it then being revealed that the reason that they were laughing is because of the fact that Mojo Jojo along with taking The Mayor also took The Mayor clothes of him which to be frank is good set up and punch line as while OK granted the punchline could be seen as being a bit childish given the fact that the girls are children it is something that does work in the episodes favor as that is something that a child might possibly find funny and while the previous segment does have some good jokes in it as well like with Bubbles just straight up annoying Buttercup by talking to her about all of the things that she's just seen Buttercup do in the training room to even the fact that she stops being hardcore when her sisters say that they like her and are sorry for underestimating her.

The very idea of Bubbles going out of her way to prove that she's just as tough with her sisters really is such a good idea. That it could have been the plot for a special episode of the show as that's just how much of a good idea that it is and yet by cramming it all into the first segment of a two segment show oddly feels like a disservice to the idea as a whole as it then means that it can't be fully developed as the episode has to rush along to the next plot point like how cool would have been to have actually seen Bubbles try to save Townsville on her own only to some of time because of the fact that her sisters aren't there to help her and it would have made her downfall in the episode going from someone who the people of Townsville like for she is instead get turned into a Tyrant who gets very easily mad at people because of the fact that they see her as her cute and adorable elf and if that segment was a special episode it would then make the entire plot of that segment feel all the more epic as now you have the girls having to face quite literally there toughest challenge yet that being Bubbles and while having the episode the episode be the first segment of a two segment show doesn't really hurt the segment in any meaningful way it would have made the segment alot more better if it was it's own episode but given that Cartoon Network weren't doing special episodes of there TV shows back when this show was being released having it air as a regular episode is somethin that was the best way for an idea that's this good to be released in the first place.

In what must surely be a coincidence the main villain of both of these segments just so happens to be Mojo Jojo. Which is fine as he is a serviceable and funny villain but at the same time having a bit of verity in there wouldn't have gone a miss as there was no need to have him by the main villain of The Bare Facts as that honor very easily could have gone to someone like Fuzzy Lumpkins with nothing really needing to be changed about the plot of that particualr segment as both he and Mojo are funny villains that the girls are known for fighting and both villains would be able to get to The Mayor very easily and it would still make the joke at the end of that segment work perfectly fine but for one reason of another the makers of these episodes thought that it was a good idea to have Mojo Jojo be the main villain for both segments which works fine as even tho he doesn't really have an evil scheme in the first segment as all he wants to do is just get rid of the girls and that's really it he does have an evil scheme in the second segment where he wants to take of control of Townsville which does make sense for his character as by doing that he can then make it law so that the girls can't attack him and stop his evil schemes but with that mind it in the first segment where he used more effectively as even tho it's the second segment where he has an evil plan here he plays more of crucial role in the plot of the second as he unknowingly taunts a still angry Bubbles by kidnapping her and torturing her by putting his laser machine on to it's highest setting all to get Bubbles to cry out for her sisters which is a good plan as he can then capture all three of them and do whatever he wants to do where as in The Bare Facts he doesn't really get that much of a chance to showoff just how smart he actually is something that he does wonderfully in Bubblevicious.

Now then this episode has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly twenty two minuets exactly. With each segment being around eleven minuets in length with is the perfect time for both of these segments to last as both segments have just the right amount of plot there to cover that eleven minuet running time but with that being said tho Bubblevicious really doesn't use it's running time all that wisely as we don't get to see the girls come to the realization that they were in the wrong in a way that felt natural as all we've seen is Bubbles acting out thus it would have made more sense for her to be the one in the wrong as she openly beats up two innocent people and hurts Blossom when the two of them were just playing game where as all Blossom did was look out for Bubbles and that's really it yet if we actually saw both her and Buttercup underestimate Bubbles say during a fight with monsters or even doing something that normal people would do and we see that escalate throughout the segment then it would make there apology not only feel warranted but earned as well and with the second segment even tho that one doesn't use in it's running time all that wisely either as it doesn't fully develop it's plot all that well it really doesn't need to give the fact that we see everything from the point of view of The Mayor and so when he doesn't see something we don't see it and given just how lighthearted the plot of that segment is in the first place it's not really something that really needed to be that fully developed in the first place as it's just meant to be a fun and silly segment of the show but I really will admit that both of these segments really do have some really good pacing to them tho.

So now then as this is an action show that really does mean that I have to actually talk about all of the action that's actually featured / presented to us in these vert episodes well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in these very episodes was in all honesty really good. With it being quite obvious that Bubble vicious has the best action out of the two segments mostly because of the fact that we actually get to see the action in it where as with The Bare Facts since The Mayor himself can't see it we the audience don't get the chance to see it with the action in Bubblevicious standing out because of the fact that we do get to see just how tough Bubbles can be when she really pushes herself to do so with her taking on several training monsters all on her own and even not only taking on but beating Mojo Jojo on her own twice which was a really good thing to see but what would have made the action in that segment alot more better was if we got to see the girls fight at the start of the episode as that could then contrast with Bubbles fighting random people when she's angry in the middle of the episode with there being alot of good action scenes just in that one segment alone that it would be hard to say which was the best one but if push comes to shove it would have to be the second fight that Bubbles and Mojo have just because of the fact that it is a pretty funny fight with Bubbles just straight up yelling at him for attacking them when they're making it up which really is a funny idea and it's one that makes sense in the context of the scene that it's in as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall out of the two segments Bubblevicious is quite easily the better one as it has not only the better plot to it but is also has the better action to it as well but in saying that The Bare Facts is better then Bubble vicious in that it has the more laugh out loud moments in and a great mixture of art styles as well with both segments offering something that the over just doesn't have in my freaking opinions anyways / at least Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in these very segments in this very review and a such that really does mean that Bubblevicious earns itself a grand old score of exactly a 7 out of 10 from me and The Bare Facts earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 6 out of 10 from with both segments earning themselves a grand total score of exactly a 6.5 out of 10 from me.

Doctor Who: Boom Review

We are now just a few shorts days away from what could be the final series of Doctor Who as there really hasn't been any news on a third series and won't be any until after this current series has finished airing. However with the new series debuting in a few short days I thought that it was about time that I take a look at the episode that features the actor playing the new companion and so then join me as i review the episode that actually joins the list of a lot of episodes that feature future Doctor and companions this time playing different roles with the episode in question being called simply just "Boom" enjoy.

The plot of this episode is when The Doctor accidentally steps on a land mine and is unable to get off he has to try and prevent a war from continuing. Now then interms if what I personally thought / felt that the actual plots that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad as it was the kind of plot that this episodes writer Steven Moffat would have done when he was show runner for the how with this episodes plot really being the best plot of the first Ncuti Gatwa series of Doctor Who as it's plot that not only has The Doctor actually acting like that The Doctor but it's also one that manages to be very tense and yet at the same time also quite heartwarming and emotional as well and that's something that you really don't get to see in alot of modern Doctor Who plots as alot of them are alot more focused on scale then they are character where this episodes plot is more focused on the characters and what it is that makes them tick then it is in having a huge scale story as the plot of this episodes only takes place in one main location and even then it has The Doctor unable to do anything and because of that this episodes plot does seem fresh as well as there really hasn't been a plot quite like this one in the shows history with the plot of this episode also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this episode is Ncuti Gatwa as The Doctor , Millie Gibson as Ruby Sunday and Andor and Jurassic World Dominion star Varada Sethu as Mundy Flynn. Also starring in this episode is Joe Anderson as John Francis Vater , Majid Mehdizadeh-Valoujerdy as Carson , In the Lost Lands star Caoilinn Springall as Splice Alison Vater , Bhav Joshi as Canterbury James Olliphant and Susan Twist as The Ambulance.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad. With all of this episodes actors turning in some really good performances which is something that is really shocking as alot of this episodes actors are either very little known or completely unknown actors and yet here they are turning in some really good performances for this one little episode of the show with nearly all of them knocking it out of the park performance wise which is something that does go to show that episodes director and producer Julie Anne Robinson not only knows hoe to get a good performance out of her actors but also because of the fact that she shot the episode in long takes thus meaning that the episodes actors could better get to grips with what otherwise might have been seen as being a really bonkers episode of the show  with her frequently doing seven minuet takes which might not seem like much but it basically means that they were filming several pages of the episode a day and they were doing it all in order alot of the time as well which is something that does help the actors to give a much better performance then what they might have dine as well with the acting that's in this very episode really being helped by the fact that this episodes script is just so good that all this episodes actors have to do is just say the lines as they are written and a good performance will come out of them naturally which is something that really does help to raise the overall quality of the acting that's in this very episode.

Doing the CGI for this episode is the legends and the greats that are currently over at Goodbye Kansas and Real SFX. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad as even tho this series or this era of the show is using basically the same method of doing CGI that The Mandalorian is using only on a much more smaller screen the episodes effects do still look really good and while you can't really see where that sweet Disney money went in this episode it is clear the the people who were doing the effects put in alot of care and attention into making sure that the effects where as good as they could possibly and heck this is even the first episode where we get to see the outside and the inside of the TARDIS done practically thanks to fact that they are usually virtual production for this era of the show and while yes granted some of this episodes don't look that good this episode does have alot more good effects in it that it does bad effects as thanks to there being alot of stuff done practically you really can't tell what was done for real and what was done in a computer alot of the time and that is something that just isn't the case with alot of effects heavy movies and shows like Doctor Who as alot of them do have really bad looking effects but here in this episodes thanks to the mixture of live action and CGI it is something that does make the episode have alot more better looking effects that it does have bad looking effects.

This episode does continue the Steven Moffat trend of trying to make everyday things seem alot more scary then what they actually are. With this episode he tries to make Ambulances scary which to be fair given the only real reason anybody would actually ride in one is a pretty good idea as you only really need to ride in one when your in a scary medical situation but at the same time tho he really doesn't go all the way with it as he then has the main villain of this episode be this evil faceless corporation who make and see weapons which is a great idea and would have been a really great idea if we got to see someone who worked for them in this episode but we don't as all we see is this one Ambulance unit and so the main villain for this episode should have been this one unit as you could have gone all that by making it the main villain of the episode just by having the fact that it truly does believe that it's doing the right thing but just boiling it down to the fact that it's just doing what it's programmed to do does somehow make it less scary when not knowing who made it and what it was originally programmed to do would have made it seem all the more scarier as for all we the audience could do all Ambulance's could have been evil or it could have been just this one or it could have been none of them as that would then mean that every single Ambulance unit that we see in this episode would then force us the audience to be tense as we wouldn't know what to expect from it next which is something that would have made the whole idea of having an evil ambulance seem all the more scary and frightening then what it actually is in the episode.

While there are alot of things that this episode does indeed get right there some things that it does get wrong. Like the fact that they true to shoehorn in a love story between Mundy and Canterbury James Olliphant which while it is something that is set up early enough in the episode for it to become a plot point later on in the episode Steven Moffat does nothing with it as we don't get to see the two of them hang out as alot of there scenes together are them either working or discussing the war that there helping to take part in and that's really it and while yes granted this does lead to great emotional pay off near the end of the episode it still leaves the romance the episode feel unneeded as they very easily could have just had Mundy and Canterbury be just good friends and quite literally nothing about there plot or parts in the episode would need to be changed but for whatever reason the makers of this episode chose to make Canterbury be head over heels in love with Mundy even to the point where they make a running joke out of it they still chose to do nothing with it when if you have something that you know that your going to pay off later on in the episode then you better have a good reason for including it in your episode because if not it's just going to feel pointless which is the very case with the romance part of this episode as there was no need for them to be in love with each other in this episode and while the two actors do indeed have some great chemistry with each other that still doesn't mean that it had to be in the episode but because it is we are now stuck with a pointless subplot that goes nowhere and adds nothing to the overall plot of the episode.

Speaking of Mundy Flynn she was the other thing that really didn't work in this episode it's not that she's badly acted or badly written because she's not. Instead it's more due to the fact that she's not that developed as a character which is something that does make alot of sense as we only get to see her for a very short amount of time in this episode but the episode is asking us to invest some time into this character and for her big emotion pay off to work that is something that we need to and sadly we can only do that if we get to find out alot more about her what ae her likes or her dislikes and hobbies we know that she like to give tattoo's to people and is motherly in nature but that's really it and even then we don't get to see any of those traits come into play all that much in the episode which is a shame because her scene with Splice when they thing that there going to die is a really sweet scene and it is something that does show just how good of an actor Varada Sethu could be but even then just because you have one or two good scenes with a character doesn't mean that we get to know her whole character as we don't know what her motivations are for joining this war we just know that she signed up for it and that's really it which if the character was only appearing in a few scenes would have been more then enough but she's basically a main character in this story and we don't know enough about her to either like or dislike her as character and yet if you compare that to John Francis Vater who through his daughter and even the opening scene of the episode we get to find enough about him to get to like him as a character and yet we get to know next to nothing about Mundy Flynn despite her being in more of the episode then what John Francis Vater was.

Now then this episode has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly forty four minuets and forty four seconds. Which is pretty much the exact grand total running time for the show at this point in time with this episode really having more then enough there interms of plot to really cover that amount of running time but at the same time this episode really doesn't use it's running time all that wisely as we get to find out next to nothing about any of the new characters and nothing about the series main story with Ruby and the Snow gets advanced in anyway whatsoever with The Doctor just taking it as something that she can do and something that means that she must still be alive and while the episodes reveal of the evil Villengard corporation being the ones that started the war on this uninhabited planet just to boost up the death rate and keep people buying there products was a really good idea it's also one that's predictable as well and one that's not really that well developed as the episode does nothing with it and heck they don't even bring it up all that much in the episode with the company only being mentioned a small handful of times and the fact that they started the war with themselves only being mentioned the once and isn't something that's that well built up when somethin that's this big and is meant to be the big reveal of the episode should have been something that's really alot more built up then what it actually ends up being but I really will admit that this episode really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is ana action show that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action thats actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad. As even tho the episode only has one small scene in it that you could really call an action scene as it does involve Ruby firing a space laser to get the Ambulance's attention off of The Doctor it is something that does lead to really great moment where she gets hit by Canterbury who believed that she going to injury Mundy and because of that she takes a rather impressive fall back into the crater where The Doctor is and actually starts to die which is a great moment and is the one of the only times in this whole series where having The Doctor cry actually does make sense as he's just watched a friend get shot at all the while there's nothing that he can do to help her because if he takes one foot of that mine then not only does he blow up but so does the whole planet but at the same time it is a bit of stretch to call it an action scene as while the episode on the whole is very action packed there's not really a fight scene in this episode with this episode being more of a war drama then it is a science fiction action show which is the great thing about Doctor Who as every episode is new genre with this episodes one action being really well done as it adds to the tension of the episode in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this was a decent and easily one of the best episode of this series of the show as it has The Doctor actually acting like The Doctor with him even getting a typical Doctor Who speech which works well enough not only for his character but for this episode as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very episode in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very episode really does earn itself a gran old score of exactly a 7.5 out of 10 from me.

Looney Tunes "The Ducksters" Review

It's shockingly been quite a while since one of the classic Looney Tunes shorts was last covered by me and well I thought that with not only The Day The Earth Blew Up A Looney Tunes Movie being released but also Coyote Vs Acme being saved as well. That now was the right time to take a look back at one of these classic cartoons and well this cartoon is oddly really relevant given the two characters that are starring in this cartoon and so then join me as I review the cartoon that given what film has just been released is oddly relevant with the cartoon in question being called simply just "The Ducksters" enjoy.

The plot of this cartoon is when Daffy Duck is hosting a radio game show it's up to an unwilling Porky Pig to survive his antics. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very cartoon well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very cartoon was in all honesty simple at best. Which while that would be seen as being a bad thing in other pieces of media here given the fact that all cartoons around the time that this one was produced ran for no longer then seven minuets having a simple plot does oddly work well enough in this cartoons favor as you don't need to have a deep and complicated plot to make the cartoon work as here all you need is the basic set up and that's really it and to this cartoons credit it's set up no matter how dated that it might seem to young people today does work really well as it allows for the characters to be there true selves and not be bogged by having to get things like the plot of the cartoon sorted out as lets be honest here nobody comes to a Looney Tunes short for the plot as they instead come for the jokes and characters and both of those things won't be as good if they had to stop every few seconds to explain something that's plot related and yet with the plot being as simple as it is it also allows for the jokes to come alot more quicker and faster something that just wouldn't be possible with a more deep and complex plot with the plot of this cartoon also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this cartoon is Mel Blanc as Daffy Duck , Porky Pig and An Audience Member and that's really it. As there's no other actors starring in this short which to be fair was kind of common place for the Looney Tunes to only have one maybe even two or three actors in any of there shorts and when you have a talent as great Mel Blanc was doing all of your voices you really don't need to hire anybody else and nobody else is going to top what he's doing with the characters in this cartoon and while it would have been nice to have another actor voice some of the characters just because of the fact that Mel was at his best when he had another actor in the room with him to bounce off of it's not always something that's needed with this cartoon being the perfect example of that as Mel was the primary voice for both Porky and Daffy at this point and so the only other role another actor could play was that of the lone audience member and that point you have to ask yourself is it worth it bring it another voice actor for a few lines of dialog when you already have a voice actor right there with you who could not only do the role perfectly fine but you also wouldn't have to pay him an extra money to do the role as he was already getting credited for playing all of the Looney Tunes characters anyway plus you could also argue that it's more funnier that in the world of the cartoon there's just this one audience member watching all of this go down and is just not doing anything at all to stop it but at the same time having just the one voice actor in this cartoon really does make the whole cartoon feel quite small in scale as it would have been very easy just to give the boss of the radio station some lines and have another voice actor play that roles instead.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very cartoon well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very cartoon was in all honesty really good. Which given who is starring in this cartoon is something that's not all that surprising as Mel Blanc was not only the best voice actors ever but is also a really good actor in his right and you need to be able to act when your doing voice acting and that is something that he not only understood perfectly but did really well as he gave all of his characters in this cartoon really distinctive voices and made them all sound very unique from each other and that is something that alot of modern voices actors just don't do alot of the time and yet here because he's playing all three roles himself he's having to very quickly switch between doing Porky's more stuttering voice and Daffy's more looney voice and the more stern voice of the audience member very quickly and at the drop of  a hat and that is something that he does with skill and ease so much so that you forget that it's all being done by one man as nowadays it would have been done by two or three people and yet here it's just one man playing all three roles and doing really well in all three parts as well with the acting that's in this cartoon really being helped by the fact that the script for this cartoon is just so good that all this cartoons have to do is just say the lines as they are written and a good performance really will come out of them naturally which is something that really does help to raise the overall quality of the acting that's in this very cartoon.

Doing the animation for this cartoon is Lloyd Vaughan , Ken Harris , Phil Monroe , Ben Washam and Emery Hawkins. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very cartoon well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very cartoon was in all honesty really good and was more then up to the already high quality standerd of the the Looney Tunes shorts as even tho this cartoon only has the one the main set and the two characters the animators make the most of each and every frame by giving us some truly great expressions from both Porky and Daffy and by also giving us a background that is as highly detailed as it's ever going to be given the cartoons subject matter but at the same time tho this cartoon animation does oddly feel limited by the fact that it only has two main characters and the one main setting as there's only so many things that you can do with both of the characters in that one setting and they do go through all of them in this one cartoon with this cartoon animation not really being allowed to be as good as it really could have been given the fact that's only got not even a handful of main characters and the one setting when if the cartoon was to have the more characters then you could not only get more fun pair ups out of it but you can also get more fun and funny facial expressions out of as well both of which would make not only this cartoon but this cartoon animation alot more better then what it already is.

If your a fan of Porky and Daffy as a duo then your really going to love this cartoon as you do get to see them just be there typical looney selves. However tho at the same time it would have been nice to have Porky act more how he would normally act when he's paired up with Daffy Duck as when the two of them are usually paired together it's Porky who is more of the straight man of the duo and who is constantly getting annoyed by Daffy and his antics and yet in this cartoon Porky is more of the funny man with Daffy at times being the straight man and other times being the funny man and that's not something that works well enough for either character and while Daffy does retain the fact that he's the smartest of the two of them in this cartoon Porky who is the smartest of the two of them instead in this cartoon being presented as being Daffy's equal when that's not the way that things are when it comes to these two characters as Porky is the kind of character who usually does think things through more logically where as Daffy is the kind of character who would dive head first into any given situation and then ask questions later and yet while it's understandable why that side of Daffy's personality doesn't come through in this cartoon as it would have no reason to shine through it's odd that given the quiz show setting that the character who is willing to think things through and use logic doesn't get the chance to dis play that part of his personality and while it could be argued that that's because Daffy isn't giving him the chance to do so it is something that does effect who Porky Pig is as a character as he's usually the more even tempered one and is never quick to anger where as here he is very quick to anger which is just out of character for him.

This is perhaps the darkest that we've ever seen Daffy as not only does he almost saw Porky Pig in half at the start of the cartoon but he straight up kills a member of the audience for just heckling him. Which is something that the character really hasn't done in alot of the other Looney Tunes cartoons either before or after thins one which does make it weird that the makers of this cartoon thought that it was right to  put in this cartoon as while it does match his more sarcastic side that this shorts director Chuck Jones would frequently use in his other Daffy Duck cartoons but this is meant to be the looney Daffy which is the side of t the character that only pops up when he's with Porky and with that i mind it does seem out of place that he almost kill Porky and straight up kill an innocent man for no reason what so ever now if it was Yosemite Sam playing the role that Daffy plays in this cartoon then it would oddly make sense that he would do things like that as he's more of a quick anger character and while it really would be fun to see how the pairing of Porky and Yosemite Sam would go it would also mean redoing the cartoon from scratch which does sadly mean that we are stuck with a side of Daffy that really shouldn't have shown itself during this cartoon and really it's something makes you wonder how the makers of this cartoon got it past the producers and the big wigs at Warner Bros Pictures as Daffy was and to some degree still is a big name over at Warner Bros and yet here he is openly killing someone in public.

Even tho alot of the cartoon is just Daffy abusing Pork in various ways it was still pretty fun to see him get his own payback on Daffy. With it being all of the lead up to Porky's revenge on Daffy that makes the cartoon alot of fun to watch as we the audience really do get understand where Porky is coming from in this cartoon as all he wants to do is just leave the show and o home but for literally no reason whatsoever Daffy just won't let him go and keeps on convincing him t stay on the show which might have to be the most Daffy thing that he could have done as it's his own ego that does cause his own downfall as Daffy never thinks about what would happen if Porky did get the upper hand on this show and yet the very second that he does that's when Porky strikes by putting Daffy through alot of the things that Daffy put Porky even down to almost cutting him in half with the table saw which is something that this version of Daffy did deserve as he put Porky through hell for his own enjoyment which is something that didn't even work back in the black and white days of the Looney Tunes as Porky in someway shape of form always got his revenge on Daffy and that is something that does prove that the makers of this cartoon knew what they were doing as they not only stuck to what worked in the past with the duo but also updated it enough so that it seemed modern and fresh again and this is something that alot of the more recent Looney Tunes have forgotten to do as there more bothered with keeping with how the kids know the characters to act rather then instead sticking to how things usually work out with this dynamic duo.

Now then this cartoon has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly seven minuets and twenty four seconds. Which is pretty much the exact grand total running for alot of the Looney Tunes with this short really being helped by the fact that this short really does have more then enough there interms of plot to cover that amount and while the fact that this short really doesn't use it's running time all that wisely which would be seen as being a bad thing here because of the fact that it does have such a short amount of running time it really doesn't need to it's running time all that wisely as both of the characters had been well established for about twenty years at this point in time and so alot of the audience that would have been going to see this cartoon back in the day would already be well aware of who these characters are ad what there personalities are like in the first place and given just how simple the set up of this cartoon is the first place it doesn't really need to be that fully developed as all that would do is take away time that could have been spent on telling a joke with the only thing that they could have done that would have helped with it's running time is that they could have spent some time in setting up the jokes that Daffy pulls all throughout this cartoon as instead they just appear as random jokes with there being no rhyme or reason between the jokes as they are now which is perfect for the more looney side of Daffy but it's also something that doesn't make sense in the context of the cartoon and is something that could have been fixed if instead of goin straight to the pay off of the jokes which is Porky getting hit we say the set up to the joke as well but I really will admit that this cartoon really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is a comedy that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very cartoon well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very cartoon was in all honesty really good. With this cartoon using alot of slapstick violence so much so that it could in all honesty give Tom And Jerry a run for there money but where as those cartoons are meant to be slapsticky and have alot of cartoon violence in them with the Looney Tunes cartoon the comedy more came from the word play and how quick witted characters like Bugs Bunny and yes even Daffy Duck where which dies make it odd that this cartoon would have a excessive amount of cartoon violence in it which don't get me wrong is painfully funny to see and it is something that the Looney Tunes themselves would do quite a bit in there own cartoons but it's not something that suits there brand and while Porky Pig getting hit on the head with an oversized mallet will always be funny and while it does make sense for daffy to be the one doing it it is something that does feel out of place in a Looney Tunes cartoon with one of the cartoons best jokes coming from the fact that Daffy will always interrupt whatever is going on even if it's him being threatened by Porky Pig himself just to do a radio advertisement for the shows sponsor which is a funny joke and even Porky getting hit by giant rock and that getting splashed by water as two of his prizes is a good joke but the best joke in the whole cartoon is quite daffy always doing a radio advertisement as he just stop whatever he's doing just to do one which is such a funny and clever joke and is something that the Looney Tunes characters would indeed do in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall Warner Bros might be bent on destroying everything that the Looney Tunes have done that doesn't mean that these cartoons will go away because they will live on in the hearts of those that watched them and on alot of DVD and Blu-Ray sets with this short being a good example of just how funny both Porky Pig and Daffy Duck can be when there at there best and if you haven't one already go and see The Day The Earth Blew Up A Looney Tunes Movie as it's just that good of a film in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now he i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very cartoon in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very cartoon really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 7 out of 10 from me.
