Thomas & Friends TV Series "The Refreshment Lady's Tea Shop" Review

To say that it's been more then a good while since anything from Thomas & Friends was last covered on this blog would be a huge understatement. Well as look would have it I think that i've found a nice solid episode to review for you all and so then join me as I review the episode that shows us that even the simplest of stories can be done and done well with the episode in question being called simply just "The Refreshment Lady's Tea Shop" enjoy.

The plot of this episode is when the refreshment lady is looking for a new place to put her tea shop it's up to Peter Sam to find her a new place to put it. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty no that bad as it was just the right kind of story that works best not only for the character of Peter Sam but also for the era of this show at this point in time and that is the fact that this episodes plot is simple and that's it and that's all it really needed to be just a simple story about a train trying to find a new place for the refreshment lady to put her tea shop and that's really it and that is something that works best for this show as this show is at it's heart a simple show and because of that it doesn't need to have deep , dark and complex stories to make it's episodes great as all it needs are enjoyable characters and simple stories and that's really it and that's something that this episodes has on both accounts as the characters are really likable as well and the story is also really simple and easy to follow along with as well with the plot of this episode also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this episode is Michael Angelis who did the UK dub for not only this episode but this series and alot of other Thomas series and media as well. With him perhaps being the most well known out of all of the storytellers that worked on this show and is most certainly one of if not the most liked as well and it's not that hard to see why as he does have a soothing and calming voice that is perfect for this show and it is something that does come into great effect for not only this episode but this series as well which too a more calming and soothing approach to it's stories and while yes the stories in this series can be a bit hit or miss alot of the time when they get it right they really do get it right and one of the people who nearly always got it right was Michael Angelis himself as he is just that good and that pleasing to listen to that it wouldn't be all that surprising if people just stopped what they were doing just to listen to him in this show and while yes this is the kind of story that would have been helped by having another person alongside Angelis provide voices for certain characters it's not really something that was really needed as Angelis does alot of really distinctive voices that nearly all stand out from one another and while yes some of his voices do start to blend together in this episode those are in the minority and are not in majority with alot of his voices fro this episode being instantly recognisable as that's just how good that they are.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad. With Michael Angelis of course being the only actor in this episode as he is in all of the episodes and there for he is by default the best actor in the episode but at the same time tho he doesn't do enough to make alot of his voices standout as while the voices for both The Fat Controller and The Refreshment Lady do have very distinctive voices for the rest of the episodes cast of characters they really don't alot of the time even Skarloey who does usually have a slightly distinctive voice to him here just sounds generic with the same thing also being said for th rest of the narrow gage engines as well as there's nothing about them vocally to make them standout from each other and while that's not really needed as there aren't as many of them as there are the main cast of characters there still should have been some effort into giving them voices that do standout from one another even if it's something that's just as simple as giving them all unique English accents with the acting that's in this episode also being helped by the fact that this episodes script is just so good that all this episode actors really have to do is just say the lines as they are written and a good performance really will come out of them which is something that really does help to raise the overall quality of the acting that's in this very episode.

As is common place with alot of the model seasons of Thomas & Friends but this episode does have some really nice looking scenery to it. With this episode really being no exception to that as this episode from a visual standpoint does look really nice and relaxing which is perfect for a show about trains as it means that you get to see parts of this world that we don't normally get to see given that we don't normally spend alot of the time with the smaller engines and yet at the same time tho alot this episodes visuals do feel flat alot of the time like you can just tell where the edge of the set is alot of the time and that's something that does take you out of the episode and remind you that your just watching a TV show and while the models look as good as they've done the makers of this show should have put just as much effort into alot of the backgrounds to make have there own unique look to them then what they did th shows model engines and while it does make alot of sense that the modes get alot of the attention as they are afterall the stars of the show without the backgrounds looking as good as they both can and have done in the last then it doesn't really matter how good the models are looking because we the audience will always be distracted by episodes lack of a good background and while some of this episodes backgrounds do look nice they also start ti merge into one as they don't have there own unique look to them and while that's not something that a kid would notice it is something that people who watch this show as an adult would notice.

The one word that can be best used to describe this episode is simple as that's exactly what this episode is it's simple and while that could be read as being a very bad thing. In this case and in the case of pretty much everything to do with this show it's a good as everything about this episode is just simple and there's nothing wrong with that at all  as sometimes just having a simple episode that's just there to take up a few minuets of running time is just what you need to get you through the day and that's exactly the case with this episode and to this episodes credit that's all it needs to be as even just having a refreshment lady is a very old fashioned and simple thing to have and it's so old fashioned that not alot of trains here in England have them anymore and yet here in this little show they do and that is something that does remind you of a much more simpler time be it when your an adult thinking about to being a kid or when your kid and the only thing that you had to worry you was what your going to have for tea tonight this episode is just filled to the brim with this kind of simple nature that reminds you of those much more simpler and in alot of cases happier times as well and that is something that not alot of shows take the time to do as there all busy having a deep and complex story and yet here's a show that's telling you to stop and smell the roses and just enjoy yourself every once in a while and that is something that is very sadly missing from alot of childrens media today.

What is something that does let this episode down quite a bit is the fact that it doesn't really have a moral as all Peter Sam wants to do be useful and that's it. While this is fine for the episode and it does go with the episodes more relaxed nature this episode could have done with Peter Sam learning that he doesn't have to do this one task to feel useful as just by doing the job in the first place he already is being useful as that would be a good message to sent out to this shows target kid audience and yet by not having a moral at the end of the episode it's saying that no matter what you do you'll be useful as long as things go your way anyway and that's simply not the case in the first place and nor is it a good thing to be teaching kids anyways as it saying that the kid should be lazy and as long as things go there way then it doesn't really matter how it turns out and that is just bad writing and is the worst example of this episodes writing being bad and while this episode doesn't use the three strikes and your out rule where a character does something bad three times in an episode before setting things right here it is something that could have been used to get across the episodes moral of you can be useful just by doing the job that your meant to be doing and that is something that is a good lesson for kids to learn in the first place as kids will encounter situations where just doing what there told to do is the best thing for them to do.

One of the things that this episode does get wrong is that even for a simple episode not much actually happens in the episode. With alot of the episode just being Peter Sam showing the tea lady some possible locations for her new team room and that's really it and while that;s fine for a scene or two it's not something that's fine here as this is meant to be a key plot point in the episode and yet it's something that doesn't work in it's current form as something like this would have worked better if there was some form of built up with tea lady visiting each of the locations that she sees in the episode only for her to brush them off and then you have it revealed that she likes all three locations as then you could have Peter Sam struggle to come up with a new idea for a location to show her which would then feed into his character arc for the episode of learning that just doing the job that you've been asked to do would make you useful anyway and it would make the episode as whole seem alot more interesting and entertaining then what it already is and heck you could even have thrown in some jokes in there as well just to keep the kids entertained and that is something that could have been in character for Peter Sam as well and yet because of the fact that the makers of this episode chose not to go that route we are stuck with an episode where once you really boil it down not alot actually happens in the actual episode itself.

Now then this episode has / had an exact grant total running time of exactly five minuets and thirty four seconds. Which is pretty much the bogstandard running time for this show at this point in time with this episode really having just the right amount there interms of pot to really cover that amount of running time but at the same time tho due to how short this episodes running time really was it can't really take as full advantage of it's running time as it could have dine if this episode was produced when the show extended an episodes running time to ten or more minuets and that is something that really does harm this episode as it means that we the audience just aren't allowed to become as sucked into the episode as we perhaps really could have done as the episode has to give us so much plot details all in one go and while this episodes plot is really easy to follow along with if this episode did have a longer running time even if it was just five or ten minuets it would mean that we could get see Peter Sam truly struggle to find the tea lady her new location and it would mean that we could get some built up to the storm instead of having it appear out of nowhere despite it being another key plot point in the episode as both things are needed to make the episode work as is the fact that we barely get to see Peter Sam and the tea lady have any sort of interactions with each other which does make it hard to gage just what it is that there friendship is meant to be like but I really will admit that this episode really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is comedy that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual comedy that's actually feature / presented to us inn this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad. As the episode does have some really cute jokes in it like the fact that Peter Sam thinks that something being as easy as cake means that there actually made from cake which is a decent enough joke and it is something that does work for his character but at the same time tho the episode really could have done with having some more jokes like that as the rest of this episodes jokes just aren't that funny and even The Fat Controller who was known for having some fat jokes made about him during this time on the show doesn't really get anything which is a shame as then we could have gotten another cute if somewhat dated joke out of it but to be fair tho this episode really doesn't have or even need that many jokes to begin with as all it needs is it it;s characters just being there wonderfully charming selves and that's exactly what this episode has got in droves and it is something that does work to this episodes advantage as it makes the episode feel very character driven but at the same time tho it would have been really good if this episode really did have some really funny jokes in it tho as that would have helped to make the episode more entertaining then what it already is in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this episode really was a good episode of the show as it had the charm and simpleness that the show is known for and yet it's also an episode that really could have been more entertaining then what it was as what we have is an episode that on paper should have worked but in reality doesn't work as well as it really could have done in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of he bad things that are in this very episode in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very episode really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 6.5 out of 10 from me.

Ultimate Spider-Man "Halloween Night At The Museum" Review

Crossovers are things that happen all of the time in TV shows and even more in comic books but there usually restricted to things that are in the same medium or make sense for both properties. The episode that i'm going to be reviewing for you all today does neither of those things as it's a crossover between an animated show and a live action and it doesn't even make sense for both properties to cross over in the first place and so then join me as I review the episode that asks more questions then it answers the more you think about it with the episode in question being called simply just "Halloween Night At The Museum" enjoy.

The plot of this episode is when Spidey decides to take the night of for Halloween he goes to visit a museum where he bumps into a bunch of kids and there nanny and when an evil sorceress is let loose it's up to both groups to team up and save the world. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured d/ presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual lot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad as it was a decent enough plot that did a good job of blending both shows together in a way that felt natural and organic but at the same time the very very idea of crossing over a live action comedy with an animated superhero show is always going to bring out a rather bizarre plot and that's exactly what we got here as while this kind of plot if perfect for Ultimate Spider-Man and there characters it's not something that works well for Jessie characters and as a result of that is that while this plot is indeed really good enough plot for a random episode of this show and that its purely meant to be advertisement for both shows it's also really quite clearly not either shows strongest plot line either with the plot of this episode really just being so really bizarre and weird that you really can't help but like and get caught up init with the plot of this episode also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this episode is Drake Bell as Peter Parker / Spider-Man and A Security Guard. Also starring in this episode is Descendants star Cameron Boyce as Luke Ross , Karan Brar as Ravi Ross , voice acting legend Grey DeLisle as Morgan Le Fey , Skai Jackson as Zuri Ross , Cobra Kai and School Spirits star Peyton List as Emma Ross and The Suite Life On Deck and Insatiable star Debby Ryan as Jessie Prescott.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in his very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad. With all of this episodes turning in some really good performances in this very episode which is something that really does make alot of sense as all of this episodes actors had been playing there respective characters for some time at this point in time and so all of them really would know what kind of performance really would suite there respective characters and while of course the more trained voice actors like Grey and Drake do a better job then there live action actors that's not a knock on the live action actors as both Grey and Drake have had more experience at voicing characters at this point in time where as the same thing cannot be said for the cast of Jessie who are more used to live action acting and so while they do turn in a good performance in this episode there not able to get across the emotion in there vocals like both Grey and Drake can with the acting that's in this very episode really being helped by the fact that this episodes script is just so goo that all this episodes really have to do is just say the lines as they are written and a good performance really will come out of them naturally which is something that really does help to raise the overall quality of the acting that's in this very episode.

Doing the animation for this episode is the legends and the greats that are currently over at Moi Animation Studio. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad with this episodes animation being a lot better then what it really had any right to be as nobody could have blamed this shows animation teams if they chose not to give this episode some good quality animation as let's be honest here this kind of episode really doesn't demand high quality animation in it and yet that's exactly what we got with this episodes animation looking really good and while granted it doesn't look as good as the animation from lets say Guardians Of The Galaxy for example considering this episode is a crossover episode with a live action show the animation is alot better then what it really could have been with it being clear as day that the animators where having alot of fun with the kids costumes especially when they get turned into magic costumes which is where the animation in this episode does get really fun to watch as you can just see all of the animators having a blast working on this episode as it is something that really does shine through in the final cut of the episode. 

As was mentioned near the start of this episode this episode is a crossover episode with the Disney Channel show Jessie. However after thinking about it for longer then anybody really should have it's actually crossover with more shows as Jessie had over crossovers as well with both Austin & Alley and Good Luck Charlie which in of itself had a crossover with Shake It Up with Jessie also having a sequel series with Bunk'd with had a crossover episode with Raven's Home ab sequel series to That's So Raven and Cory In The House with That's So Raven also being apart of multiple crossover episodes and even this show had a cross over with Phineas And Ferb which has a sequel show of it's own Milo Murphy's Law and several other Marvel Animated shows which means that technically everything from That's So Raven onwards barring Dog With A Blog and Girl Meets World including yes Wizards Beyond Waverly Place could all take place in this Marvel Animated Universe and while it is hopefully possible that this episode is considered non canon to the rest of both shows it i weird to think that technically all of the Marvel animated show that Disney was making at the time take place within the same universe as not only alot of there live action shows but also two of there animated shows as well and all of that came just from this one episode alone and really nothing more then that as just the idea of thinking about how these Marvel shows fit in with the rest of the Disney Channel shows is enough to give any one a Rita Repulsa sized headache.

To this episodes credit it does do a decent enough job of making sure that all of the characters get a time to shine. However it is still weird seeing a show that's mainly aimed at little girls crossover with a show where the target audience is mainly little boys and while both sets of characters do remain true to who they are on there respective shows the heroic elements of Spider-Man's character do feel toned down for this one where as the more comedic elements of Jessie also oddly feel toned down as well this is despite the fact that the crossover is taking place on this show and so it would there for make sense for Spider-Man to be acting his more heroic self but at the same time the audience coming over from Jessie will be expecting there characters to making jokes all the time and that's something that very sadly doesn't happen in this episode with Spider-Man getting alot of the jokes and the cast of Jessie especially Jessie herself getting more of the heroic moments heck it's even Jessie and not Spider-Man that ends up saving the day which is something that really doesn't make a whole lot of sense as Spider-Man out of him and Jessie is the one who's the hero and so it would there for make sense for him to be the one that saves the day while Jessie is doing her job and looking after the kids and heck this is something that could have been fixed with the makers of this show actually watched an episode or two of Jessie as then that way they could have Jessie save Spider-Man earlier on in the episode and then Spider-Man pays her back by saving her at the end of the episode instead going the route that they went down in the finished cut of this episode.

Again to be fair to this episode is does give a legitimate reason as to why Peter Parker is in his Spider-Man outfit. With that being that since it's Halloween and everyone else is dressed up already he doesn't a reason to change out of his outfit as everybody would think that his Spider-Man costume is lame anyways which is a fair enough to keep him in his Spider-Man costume for the whole episode but at the same time tho would have made it funny was if one of the Ross kids actually said that during the course of the episode just because it would have been in keeping with any of the characters to say something like that to him even if it's when they don't realise that he's actually a superhero it still would have been a funny joke but at the same time tho it does seem like a cheap way to keep in his costume as then they don't have to animate him taking it off and putting it on again with it also feeling that it was there just so that they could show this episode on the Disney Channel and not have the target audience of that channel be confused which really does make some sense in some respects but at the same time tho when Peter does reveal himself to be a hero it also would have made sense for him to reveal his real name yes it would have been cheesy as all heck but this is a cheesy episode and so it really would have made sense for him to do that especially since the cast of Jessie is also helping him defeat Morgan Le Fey as well.

Now then this episode has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly twenty two minuets and three seconds. Which is pretty much the bogstandard running time for both of these shows to begin with with this episode really having just the right amount there interms of plot ti really cover that amount of running time but at the same time tho this is an episode that could have been at the very least forty five minuets which is something that really would have helped to make the episode feel alot more like a special event episode which is how all crossovers really should be treated and with that extra running time it would allow the episode to get across just who both sets of characters are and how they act when there around there own minor characters which is something that would mean nothing to the fans of either shows but it would mean something to the people who aren't fans of either shows and just a fan of one show or the other and heck with that extra running time it would mean that we could get more characters from either show crossing over in this episode like for funny would it be to see an animated version of Bertram talking to someone from SHIELD just the amount of actually funny combinations that you could then have with both shows characters goes through the roof and yet because of the fact that this episode is only the bogstandard twenty two minuets it means that we just have to see the core characters and nothing more then that and while that does make sense as it means that every single scene has to be about the plot and pushing the plot forward it also stops the episode from being as fun and as funny as it really could have been but I really will admit that this episode really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is an action show that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad. As this episode action was where the episode got to be the most the must fun as we got to see Spider-Man teaming up with the cast of Jessie in some really creative and fun ways all of which help to make this episodes action feel fun and unique with it also being helped by the fact that the entire episode is set at a museum which does open itself up fr having some really unique as not alot of superhero shows animated or not have action sequences at a museum and while the action does boil down to either Spider-Man or Jessie rescuing the Ross kids neither of it feels out of character with the episode having so many action scenes in this episode that it's hard to pick a favorite one as there all just so good and fun to watch but that might also be problem as the episode does have far to many action sequences in it that there's not enough time to care for either sets of characters unless you happen to be a fan of both shows and this is something that really could have been fixed if this episode was a little bit longer then what it was as then you the episode could have alot of action sequences and the us the audience would the time to care about both sets of characters as well but that might also mean that the setting for this episode could get old really fast and that could make the episodes action sequences go from fun and exciting to dull and boring quite quickly in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall whilst this episode might not be the worst crossover episode out just due to the fact that it's an animated superhero show crossing over with a live action comedy and that idea alone does make it one of the more weirdest crossovers that both Marvel and Spider-Man have ever done in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very episode in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very episode really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 6.5 out of 10 from me.

Beetlejuice "Stage Fright" And "Spooky Tree" Review

While Beetlejuice is undoubtedly back in the public eye and bigger then what it ever was before thanks to the release and success of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice. It has been a good while since anything from the animated series has been talked about and well I thought that now was a solid enough time to talk more about this show as it's one that doesn't really get alot of attention and so then join me as I review the episodes that let the juice loose with the episodes in question being called simply just ""Stage Fright" and "Spooky Tree enjoy.

The plot of "Stage Fright" us when her school puts on a production of Romeo & Juliet and her audition is ruined Lydia sets out to get revenge on the culprit during opening night and in "Spooky Tree" when her favorite tree is due to be demolished Lydia starts a protest while Beetlejuice gets something from his home world that lets the tree walk away. Now then interms of what I( personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in these very episodes well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in these very episodes was in all honesty really good with the best plot going to "Stage Fright" just because it was a really inventive plot that made the most of it' set up whilst "Spooky Tree" whilst it wasn't a bad plot in it's own right it's one that just felt generic like it could have been pulled from any spooky kids animated TV show and it would have worked out just the same with plots being some really fun filled plots that do a good job of telling there respective stories and being fun and a little bit spooky but in a kid friendly kind of way with both of these episodes in all honesty being a really good way to get into horror as both plots are scary but not so scary that it'll cause them to have nightmares with both of these plots also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in these episodes is Stephen Ouimette as Beetlejuice , Alyson Court as Lydia Deetz and voice acting legend and My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic star Tara Strong as Bertha and Claire Brewster. Also starring in these episodes is My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic star Tabitha St. Germain as Prudence , Roger Dunn as Charles Deetz , Len Carlson as The Foreman and Messy Jesse and Elizabeth Hanna as Delia Deetz and Miss Shannon.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in these very episodes well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in these very episodes was in all honesty really good. Which is not something that's all that new given that "Stage Fright" does have two really good voice actors in it's already staked cast both of whom are really good in these episodes as well with the same thing also being true for all of the actors that are in both of these episodes as they all turn in some really solid performances and while the actors that are playing the characters from the films will of course never be able to top what the actors in the films did with those characters they did a good job of holding the candle for them between the two movies that they could be considered THE voices for those characters as that's just how good that they are not only in these two episodes but in the show as a whole as well and while they won't be who people think when they think of those characters chances are that they will be the voices that people hear when there seeing lines from those characters with the acting that's in these very episodes also being helped by the fact that the scripts for these episodes is just so good that all these actors really have to do is just say the lines as they are written and a good performance really will come out of them naturally which is something that really does raise the overall quality of the acting that's in these very episodes.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in these very episodes well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in these very episodes was in all honesty not that bad for a nineties kids TV show as both of the episodes do have some really trippy looking animation to them in certain which does help with the light horror aspect of the show and yet when the episodes need to get comedic then that do have some really zany and fast paced animation which is something that comes into play whenever Beetlejuice is up to something and it is something that does help make the jokes all that more funnier as it allows for some really creative character designs that feel true to the spirit of Tim Burton and while the animation in not only both of these episodes might look dated in certain areas like the lack of a detailed background as seen in alot of the scenes in both of these episodes considering that this a show that's based off of a movie and those kinds of shows don't typically have good animation to them the fact that we managed to get very quality animation not only in these two episodes but in the show as a whole is well and truly a good thing to behold.

All throughout the first movie we are told never to say Beetlejuice's name three times in a row otherwise he can then cause havoc in our world and yet in the show up until this point nobody had really said his name three times in a row. Which is something that changed in "Stage Fright" and it was something that made sense as the character that said it Clair is bit of an airhead as she even miss pronounced Juliet's name several times in the episode with her also being the school bully and as such when she does say his name three times in a row us the audience just want to see Beetlejuice just let loose on her and that's exactly what he does and it's glorious to see as it's something that felt earned and the fact that the show held off on this aspect of the character for a good while does say that the makers of this show were either waiting for the right story to come along before doing it or they were waiting for a truly hateful character to come along as then they could still have Beetlejuice come across as being the good guy when in the movie he was firmly the bad guy and heck they even got right the fact that if Lydia says his name three times when he's in our world then he does get sent back to his world and can't really enter our world until someone says his name three times in a row again which is something that could have over looked as it's such a small detail but the fact that they included that aspect of the films lore as well does say that the makers of this show were huge fans of the film which does make sense given that the films director Tim Burton and it's original producer David Geffen also served as executive producers on this show as well.

While "Stage Fright" is easily the better of the two episodes "Spooky Tree" is also a really solid in it's own right as well. As that episode does try to make Lydia more of a normal girl by having her care about something in the real world and when that thing is threatened she does try to defend it and get's visibly upset when she notices that her efforts are failing but at the same time tho that doesn't make for an interesting episode as the character up until that point had been presented as being anything but a normal girl with her frequently taking visits to Beetlejuice's home world and taking part in other spooky activities and so to have suddenly be presented as being this normal kid does feel out of place for her character and heck even in the first movie she presented to as being new kid in town who is a bit of an odd ball and while this episode does indeed lean into that aspect of her character the fact that she is an odd ball isn't played up as much while both "Spooky Tree" and Stage Fright" could have been perfect ways to show of just much of an odd ball that she is as while yes granted she does bring in her own spider's for a show and tell type event in "Stage Fright" that's really all she does and in "Spooky Tree" she doesn't really do anything that odd at all as starting a protest to help to save something that you love isn't an odd thing to do and if both of these episodes did make Lydia more of an odd ball then it would have made both episodes more interesting to watch and it would have made the fall of both bad guys in both stories all the more worth while and really fun to watch as well.

One of the things that "Spooky Tree" does that was actually kind of interesting was show us just how far Beetlejuice is willing to go to make Lydia happy. As in this show they are meant to be best friends and yet in alot of the episodes up until this episode it's always been Beetlejuice causing trouble and Lydia and has to find a way to bail him out of it and yet here we see that he really does care for Lydia with him even using something from Neitherworld to try and help her out and while yes it does end up causing trouble for Lydia as the tree grows legs and goes on a rampage around town not wanting to be replanted it is also something that does show us that he really care for for her as even in "Stage Fright" it could very well be argued that he only did what he did because of the fact that his name was said three times in a row and not because Lydia was angry or sad about it where as here it quite clearly because she was upset the possibility of loosing her favorite tree and Beetlejuice was trying to help her out in his own way and while the movie version of the character would only look out for himself unless it meant that Lydia would indeed marry him here it's because the two of them really are the best of the friends and that fact that this episode did explore that aspect of the duo was what made what was an otherwise generic episode at least seem to be somewhat interesting as it was something that show really hadn't explored up until now.

Now then the first segment has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly twelve minuets and five seconds and the second segment has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly twelve minuets and four seconds. With "Stage Fright" having the better of the two running times as even tho it's only a second longer then "Spooky Tree" it does have more then enough there interms of pot to really cover that amount of running time where as "Spooky Tree" really doesn't have alot there interms of plot to really cover it's amount of running time with that segment having just enough plot for about six minuets at best which means that the episode has just over six minuets worth of filler as not alot that's in that segment has much of an impact on the actual plot of the segment where as it's the opposite that's true for "Stage Fright" as that episode really does make some good use of it's running time by actually giving us characters that we either love or hate and even the one off characters like the schools drama teacher do all have there moments to shine as well but tho "Spooky Tree" did take the time to fully develop as much of it's premise that it really could have done it just needed a much more stronger premise and that's really it while the first segment didn't have any filler scenes in it whatsoever and as a result of that of that is the fact that all of the scenes in that segment was all about advancing the plot of the segment where as the second segment didn't get much of that at all but I really will admit that both segments really do have some really good pacing to them both tho.

So now then as this is a comedy that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in these very episodes well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in these very episodes was in all honesty really good. With both of these episodes having some really painfully funny moments in them with alot of the best jokes from both of the episodes being jokes that you don't really see coming as while the joke about Clair always mispronouncing Juliet's name is a good joke the best joke in that episode is actually the fact that Clair does say Beetlejuice's name three times in a row as we the audience the know that he's about to cause some chaos and surely enough he wastes no time in causing chaos for that school play and in "Spooky Tree" it's just the fact that this one tree doesn't want to replanted again even after he's seen Lydia which was the one thing that e really wanted to do just because of the fact that that idea is such a weird idea that you can't help but smile at it ad just go along with for the ride but with that being said tho both of the segments don't have alot of funny jokes in them which it makes all the more rarer when you do see or hear one that is painfully funny which even then it's only funny because the rest of the segments jokes just aren't that funny to begin with in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.  

Overall these were a pair of really solid episodes but "Spooky Tree" could have been alot more better given it's fun premise and "Stage Fright" despite it clearly being the better of the episodes wasn't as fun as it really could have been but at the same time tho both of these episodes were also alot more better then what they really could have been as on paper both episodes could have been really bad in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in these very episodes in this very review and as such that really does mean that "Stage Fright" really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 6.5 out of 10 from me and "Spooky Tree" really does itself a grand old score of exactly a 5.5 out of 10 from me and both of the episodes as a whole really do earn themselves a combined score of exactly a 6 out of 10 from me.

My SPOILER FILLED First Impressions of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man

Spider-Man as a character is one that's been a touchstone of Marvel since the sixties with the character appearing in dozens of TV shows and movies. Well now then it seems that we can add another show to that list as the first two episodes of his newest animated TV show have just dropped on Disney+ and well then you all just knew that I had to check them out and so then join me as I give you my SPOILER FILLED first impressions of the show that ruins a classic theme song with the show in question being called simply just "Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man" enjoy.

The plot of these first two episodes is in the first first episode Peter has to come to terms with the girl that he likes having a boyfriend whilst also trying to deal with his new life as Spider-Man whilst in episode two Peter has to deal with being a new intern at Oscorp. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in these first two episodes well then in all honesty I inn all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in these first two episodes was in all honesty not that bad as they both do manage to capture the every day aspect of the Peter Parker down perfectly but at the same time tho there's really nothing to these episodes interms of actual plot with the plot of both of these episodes being thin at best and whole this something that could change over the course of this first season it's also something that doesn't set the show of on the best of grounds either as it makes it look like that the plot is coming in second to the shows visuals when it really should be the other way around but what little plot that there is is solid enough to make this show worth watching to see how they take the mythos of this truly legendary character with the plot of these first twp episodes also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Also starring in these first two episodes is Grace Song as Nico Minoru , Eugene Byrd as Lonnie Lincoln , Zeno Robinson as Harry Osborn and Campbell , Colman Domingo as Norman Osborn , Kellen Goff as Symbiotic Alien , Robin Atkin Downes as Stephen Strange / Doctor Strange , Cathy Ang as Pearl Pangan , Erica Luttrell as Emma , Mrs. Lincoln and Asha , voice acting legend Phil LaMarr as Mr. Taylor and Mr. Lincoln , Ogie Banks as Pizza Shop Owner , Roger Craig Smith as Coach Grayfield and J. Gallo , Anjali Kunapaneni as Jeanne Foucault , Aleks Le as Amadeus Cho , Paul F. Tompkins as Doctor Bentley Wittman , Zehra Fazal as Doctor Carla Connors and Jake Green as Butane.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in these first two episodes well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very first two episodes was in all honesty not that bad. Which was alot better then what it really could have been as alot of this shows actors aren't voice actors there live action actors and there is a huge difference between acting on camera and acting into a microphone but this shows actors do manage to turn in some really good performances in these first episodes and while of curse there acting will indeed get better and better as the show goes on just based off of these first two episodes alone the acting does seem to be off to a really good start as it's clear as day that all of this shows actors are cast pitch perfectly for there respective characters with them all being really well cast which is something that Marvel Studios is really good at doing and that is something that thankfully does indeed continue with the casting of these actors in this very show with the acting that's in these first episodes also really being helped by the fact that the scripts for these first two episodes is also really good and so all this shows actors really have to do is just say the lines as they are written and a good performances really will come out of them naturally which s something that really does help to raise the overall quality of the acting that's in these first episodes.

Doing the animation for these episodes is the legends and the greats that are currently over at Polygon Pictures and CGCG, Inc.. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in these very episodes well then in all honesty I inn all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in these very episodes was in all honesty really good with the show using an art style that makes the show look like comic book panels which is something that does really work for this show as it makes it look like the comic book panels have come to life but at the same time tho it does also limit the amount of detail that can be added to the characters and that is something that could potentially hold the show back especially when it comes to characters like Doc Ock for example but for these two episodes the animation really did look really good and was to be frank one of the best aspects about both of these first two episodes as it was something that not only catches you of guard with how good that it looks but the more simplistic designs also go along way in capturing that old school Marvel Comic look with even Peter himself kind of looking like a more up to date of his original design from the sixties and while the characters aren't really given alot of fluid movements in these two episodes the show does give them what could best be described as being more realistic movements which work fine for these first episodes but it is something that could become annoying to watch in later episodes tho.

SPOILERS START HERE!!!!!!!!!!

In a really rather bizarre move this show both does and doesn't take place in the MCU as it's meant to take place mere months before the events of Captain America: Civil War and yet none of the characters apart from Aunt May look like there film counterparts. To make things even more confusing is the fact that in episode one of this show we have the same portal design from the MCU with even a possibly different universe version of Doctor Strange showing up to fight an alien symbiote something which hasn't happened in the mainline MCU as of yet all of these are things that do make it confusing as to if it's canon to the Marvel Cinematic Universe or not as alot of the shows that have been produced for Disney+ including the animated ones have in some ways been canon and yet here it really is hard to tell if that's the case or not and this is something that the makers of this show should come out and clarify as even the show itself started out life as being canon to the MCU with it even being due to star Tom Holland as Spider-Man and yet from these first two episodes alone it is something that really does make it hard to tell if this show is canon to the MCU or not and while this won't put people off watching the show either way it is something that should be clarified just because of the fact that the first episode of this show does have things that were made possible due to the MCU and it will also stop people from being confused as well.

As with alot of Disney+ shows Disney have decided to drop the first two episodes of the show however unlike alot of the other Disney+ shows they'll also be doing the exact same thing for alot of the shows first season. Which just seems pointless as you could have gotten alot more viewing hours if the show was released weekly as that would then equal people talking about the episodes for longer over social media as well and yet by releasing all of the episodes two at a time apart from next week and the week afters where there releasing three episodes of the show which just makes it even more pointless and it makes it look like that Marvel and Disney are ashamed of this show when they really shouldn't be as they do have a really solid show on there hands and this is something that they clearly already knew about as they've renewed the show for a further two seasons PRIOR to the show even debuting so they knew that they had a hit show on there hands and yet they still went with a faster release schedule when releasing one episode a week would not only drive up numbers for Disney+ but would also mean that us the audience can theorize over what's going to happen next week as both episodes end on pretty big cliffhangers with episode two even revealing that Norman Osborn now knows that Peter Parker IS Spider-Man something wouldn't have much of an impact if they released three episodes this week but the fact that they didn't do that now means that us the audience can now theorize about what could happen to Peter now that his secret is out of the bag.

There is one thing that both of these episodes managed to get right about Peter Parker's personality and that's the fact that he's just a normal kid. He's a kid that doesn't know how to get the girl or would even struggle to do his homework let alone hand it in on time he's your next door neighbor's kid because that's how normal and average that he is and that's something that does come across rather beautifully in these two episodes as we not only see him struggling to talk to the girl of his dreams but when he does get the courage to ask her out it turns out that he's two late as she's dating somebody else and we do see him struggle to even get up on time to catch the train to school and it's those things that might seem little in the grand scheme of things but they also help to make Peter Parker feel more real and that is something Stan Lee wanted for the character as it made him more human alot of us struggle to get up in the morning be it for school or work or whatever and alot of us struggle to talk to the one person that we love but haven't had the courage to ask out yet and to see Peter go through those issues in both of these episodes does say that the makers of this show really did understand that core concept of the characters as without that you basically just have another superhero and that's really it and that's something that works for Spider-Man or for Peter Parker as well as it is something that does help to make him more human and because of that he also comes across as being a more relatable character on top of that.

Now then episode one of this show has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly twenty seven minuets and twenty seconds and episode two of this show has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly twenty five minuets and fifty seconds. With episode two having the much more better running time but at the same time tho it is understandable as to why episode one was as long as it was as while both episodes don't really have alot there interms of plot episode one did have alot of backstory and character setup to do where as episode two didn't have any of that and even tho the show is pretty much skipping over the entire origin story for Peter Parker apart from showing him getting bitten by a spider from another dimension it still would have been if episode one justified it's slightly longer running time by giving us more of Peter's backstory or even giving us some backstory for Norman as he only appears right at the very end of episode one before taking on a similar role in episode two which for a character that's this iconic doesn't really do him justice and as such the makers of this show could have put in some of his backstory into episode just to help to make his character more of a parallel to Peter and heck both of the episodes really could have spent same time in making the shows recurring characters more fully developed as well as we are going to be spending quite alot of time with those characters as well but I really will admit that both of these episodes really do have some really good pacing to them tho. 

So now then as this is an action show that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in these very episodes well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action this actually featured / presented to us in these first two episodes was in all honesty not that bad. However that is also the problem as alot of the action that's in these first two episodes wasn't all that good either which is something that does make sense as Peter is only just starting out as Spider-Man as such he wouldn't be able to do all of the cool things that Spider-Man can do in a fight just yet because he's not learnt it yet but at the same time tho the action in both of these episodes does come across as being really flat and boring to watch as there just so repetitive to watch with even both of the episodes having three action scenes across both episodes which is fine as you can't expect a thirty minuet show to have lots of action scenes in it but you still at least have to show us something us something that's interesting during any of those action scenes with the only good action scene in both of these episodes being the one with Doctor Strange at the start of episode one as we get to see Strange struggle to defeat an Alien Symbiote as that's something that we really haven't seen yet in the MCU and we also get some plot during that scene as well as that's when we get to see the spider that's presumably from Doctor Strange's world bite Peter with the action in that scene alone being really good and really fun to watch as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall just based off of these first two episodes alone the show does seem to be worth watching and the fact that's already been picked up for both a season 2 and a season 3 does mean that we might be in for a good show but only time will tell if this show is indeed a show that not only good but also worth watching as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Muppet Classic Theater Film Review

The Muppets have been apart of great many a different pieces of media out there ranging from movies to TV shows and many more. Yet there's always one piece of media that great many people seem to either always forget about or just straight up don't know about and it's that very piece of media that i'm going to be reviewing for you all today and so then join me as I review the film that sees The Muppets retell six classic stories in classic Muppet fashion with the film in question being  called simply just "Muppet Classic Theater" enjoy.

This is the only piece of Muppet media where there isn't a plot to the film to speak with the idea of the film being The Muppets putting on six stories and that's really it. With that idea being strong enough to carry a film like this one as this is a film that doesn't really require a plot to speak but at the same time tho it would have been nice if the film did have a plot as there's really no reason as to why The Muppets are putting on in this show in the first with it just happening for no reason whatever and that is not usually how The Muppets do things as even in the movies and the TV shows they usually explain what the set ups are and why there doing what there doing and as such it comes across as being weird and out of place that they wouldn't do that in this film when it was something that while it wasn't needed it would have helped to make the idea stronger as any reason given would feel in character for The Muppets and heck you could even say that there doing a special episode of The Muppet Show or that these stories are unused ideas from the various Muppet movies just something would have worked but at the same time tho this is film that really doesn't require a plot as the idea of these characters telling six classic stories is more then enough to sell people on this film with the plot of this film also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. With all of the actors playing the Muppet characters turning in some really good performances in this film which is something that does make sense as alot of them have been playing there characters for decades and nearly all of them would go on to play there respective characters for years to come and so it does make sense that they would turn in some really good performances in this film as they really would know how best to perform there respective characters and what kind of performances would best suit there respective characters as well and while the acting in this film won't ever compare to the acting in the main Muppet movies it is still interesting to hear these classic Muppet voices in a little known piece of Muppet media as it really does show you that these actors really are a bunch of good actors in there own right as well with the acting that's in this film really being helped by the fact that this films script is just so good that all this films actors really have to do is just say the lines as they are written and a good performance really will come out f them naturally which is something that really does help to raise the overall quality of the acting that's in this very film.

As was mentioned at the very start of this review this film has The Muppets tell six different classic stories. With those stories being The Three Little Pigs , King Midas , The Boy Who Cried Wolf , Rumpelstiltskin , The Emperor's New Clothes and The Elves And The Shoemaker with all three stories having some of the classic chaos that you usually think of when you think of The Muppets with all six stories also making some changes to the stories to make them more kid friendly which is something that does make alot of sense as alot of the stories that are featured in this film don't exactly have endings that kids would like and so making those kinds of changes does somewhat make sense but at the same time tho given just how closely The Muppets stuck to A Christmas Carol it really does make you wonder why they didn't stick closely to the original stories in this film as well as kids will understand the moral of each story as they have done for hundreds of years and by making the stories more kid friendly then all your doing is just talking down to your audience and that is something that Jim Henson himself wouldn't never do as he only made things for the whole family to enjoy and this film is one that really could have been made for thee whole family and not just little kids as then you really can have the more mature themes and writings of the original stories but you can also do it in a way that better suits The Muppets brand as well and yet by doing the exact opposite of that all your doing is harming the story that your really trying to replicate and not not doing any kind of justice to the original story itself either.

If you thought that The Muppets At Walt Disney World looked really cheap then you have seen nothing yet. As this film does look cheaper then that special as at least in that special that at least made the effort to hide the rods controlling the characters hands alot of the time where as here you see them alot of the time and while that special had the excuse of the fact that it was being filmed on location actually at Walt Disney World itself and so they of course couldn't get things to look just exactly right for the characters here the whole hing is set on a stage in a theater and yet it still looks cheap just because your doing something that basically direct o video doesn't mean that you have to make it look like a direct video special if anything The Muppets have proven that they can make something that's cheap look expensive just look at The Muppet Show as a key example of that and yet here everything just looked cheap and while that does indeed make some sort of sense given the premise of the film there still should have been some small amount of effort to make this film really look a bit more expensive then what it actually was even if it's just by doing something simple like making sure that we can't see the rods controlling the characters hands as don't forget in this world these characters really are meant to be real people and yet by showing us the rods controlling the hands all it does is remind us that there puppets and that's really it and while it is a small thing it is also something that would make the film look a bit more dearer to make as it would show that some thought and effort actually went into making this film.

For some strange reason this film really likes having Kermit The Frog as the main character in alot of the stories. As the character does appear in quite alot of them and nine times out of ten he's the main character which I guess makes sense from marketing stand point as Kermit was there most popular character in the nineties but the same time tho there are other Muppet characters that could have used some attention as well like the fact that even tho they have Animal appear once in one story they don't have the rest of The Electric Mayhem which does make sense as they really didn't feature them a whole lot after the death of Jim Henson with them mostly appearing in silent cameo roles and that's really it but it still would have been nice to see them pop up as the Elves in the final story since Rizzo thinks the Elves are Elvis anyway it would have made perfect sense for them to show up there even Rowlf The Dog could have played the part of the Big Bad Wolf just because you can use Kermit doesn't mean that you should always use him and heck even for the first story in which Kermit is the main character would have been even funnier if the main character was played by the vain Link Hogthrob as King Midas is meant to be this selfless character it would have been quite funny to see someone vain play him with the only story that's right for Kermit as a character being The Elves And The Shoemaker as that's the kind of story where Kermit always has done and always will do work best.

If your gong into this film expecting to see alot of the classic Muppet characters then be prepared to be disappointed. Due to the fact that not alot of the classic Muppets characters were used all that much in the nineties with this film even featuring two characters who would play a bigger role in Muppets Tonight with Randy and Andy playing the main roles in The Three Little Pigs story and while the classic Muppet character do indeed show up alot of the time the only ones that have any real impact on the film are Gonzo , Rizzo , Kermit , Miss Piggy , Robin The Frog and Fozzie and even then Fozzie only appears in the The Emperor's New Clothes and that's rally it with alot of the characters featured in this film being either new characters all together or very little known characters which both does and doesn't make sense it does make sense in the way that the Jim Henson Company can introduce more new characters and thus keep the brand going a little bit longer but it doesn't make sense because nobody knows who these characters and the characters are just coming of the hugely successful The Muppets Christmas Carol so wouldn't it make more sense to use the characters that played roles in that film which was alot of the classic characters as those are the characters that this new kid audience would be more familiar with instead of introducing new characters that the audience doesn't really know or even care about for that matter.

Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour and eight minuets and forty nine seconds. Which is a perfectly solid running time for this film to have as this film really doesn't have a plot to speak of whatsoever and as such there really no need for this film to be all that long as all it needs to do is just tell six short stories ad that's really it and that's something that this film can and does do beautifully with it's current running time and while it would have been nice if this film was just a little bit longer just so that the film could then get across as to why The Muppets are putting on a stage show and maybe include more of the classic characters as well let's be real here the film target kid audience isn't going to care about any of that as all there going to care about is seeing Kermit and the gang doing what they do best only now it's on a direct to video film budget ad not a big screen film budget and to that extent this film really does gave the perfect running as this current running time will be long enough to keep little kids entertained but isn't so long as they'll get bored however when you attach The Muppets name to something your always going to get some adults watching it as well and as such explaining why The Muppets are doing what there doing and having things for the adults really would have helped this film out in the longer run as well but I really will admit that this film really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is comedy that means that I have to actually talk about the actual comedy that's actually feature / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad. As it was the kind of the comedy that does work well with The Muppets but at the same time tho alot of this films comedy just felt like it was to dumbed down and is clearly an example of The Muppets not at there best as while yes there are one or two decent jokes in this film like the fact that Rizzo keeps mistaking the Elves for Elvis in the final story and then proceeding to dress them up like him when he sees that they act exactly like him is a good idea and good joke but at the same time tho the film is filled to the brim with far to many fourth wall breaks so much so that it becomes more distracting then it is funny as there's only so long that a fourth wall breaking joke can be funny and this film found that limit and then pushed past it quite early on and because of that the fourth wall breaking jokes that should have been funny stopped being funny because we the audience get so used to seeing them in this film but when this film film does tell a really good joke it is a rally funny joke but you just have to sit through alot of bad ones to get to the one or good jokes in this film in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall it's quite easy to see not alot of people talk about this film is it really is just that bad and while it's not as bad as say The Muppets At Walt Disney World is or even Muppets Tonight for that matter for example this film is one that doesn't feel like The Muppets as while yes it has all of the iconic characters there but it's lacking that special charm that they usually bring to all of the The Muppets media even the bad ones as well for that matter in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this film in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very film really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 5 out of 10 from me.
