Family Guy "Peter, Peter, Pumpkin Cheater" Review

It really does seem like every single animated project out there is getting an animated halloween TV special this year with there being so many that it's really hard to keep up with them all. Well now we can add Family Guy to that list of shows and animated movies that have been getting a Halloween special this year as just a few short days ago there halloween special debuted not on there usual home of Fox and yes this review will contain spoilers as this special came out a few days ago and really we've all had more then enough chances to go and see the special and so then join me as I review the special that sees a punch of fat guys reveal the secret to winning a pumpkin contest with the special in question being called simply "Peter, Peter, Pumpkin Cheater" enjoy.

The plot of this special is when Stewie accidentally brings Rupert to life he most stop his beloved bear from killing of Brian before it's fare to late. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very special well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very special was in all honesty not that bad but at the same time the plot of this special wasn't all that good with there not really being all that much that's actually spooky about this specials plot outside of Rupert trying and failing to kill Brian and heck even then that might not be the episodes main plot as Peter and guys have a plot about entering a giant Pumpkin competition with neither plot really feeling like it captures the true spirit of Halloween and while the plots in this special are indeed decent enough plot that's do a serviceable job in this episode nether of them are worthy to be in a special were you expect plots to bigger then that then the average episode of the sow heck just look at any of the South Park as a good example of that with both plots feeling like that they'd be more at home in an average episode of the show and not something that's a special episode of the show with the plot of this episode also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. 

Starring in this special is the shows creator and executive producer Seth MacFarlane as Peter Griffin , Stewie Griffin , Brain Griffin , Tom Tucker and Glenn Quagmire. Also starring in this special is Glen Powell as Patrick McCloskey , Seth Green as Chris Griffin and Sanfo , Alex Borstein as Lois Griffin , Mila Kunis as Meg Griffin , Patrick Warburton as Joe Swanson , Mike Henry as John Herbert , Arif Zahir as Cleveland Brown , Bride Of Chucky star Jennifer Tilly as Bonnie Swanson , Sam Elliott as Mayor Wild West and Sir Derek Jacobi as Rupert.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very special well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very special was in all honesty not that bad. Which is something that's to be expected as alot of this specials actors have been playing their respective roles for years at this time and would thus know how best to perform there respective characters and what kind of performance would best suit there respective characters as well with the true standout performer being of Seth MacFarlane mostly because of the fact that he voices more then half of the make characters in this special and is involved in both the main and sub plots of the special with him turning in a really solid performance as all of his characters and while some characters aren't spotlighted as much with Meg only getting two scenes where she speaks and the same thing with both Lois and Chris as well all of those actors make those scenes count with the acting that's in this very special also being helped by the fact that the script for this special is just so good that all this specials actors really have to do is just say the lines as they are written and a good performance really will come out of them naturally which is something that really does help to raise the overall quality of the acting that's in this very special.

Doing the animation for this special is the legends and the greats that are currently over at Digital eMation Inc,. Now then  interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very special well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt about the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very special was in all honesty not that bad which is something that could also be said for the animation for the show as a whole as well as the shows animation has been getting a huge upgrade over the recent years something which does continue in this episode as well with the specials animation looking really good and while it doesn't look as good as it really should have done in a special it does look good enough to be an average episode of the show but at the same time tho this episodes animation really could have been alot better then what it really was as the animation in this special should have looked alot better and done something different with it's animation akin to the South Park Pandemic Special where they did a long shot zooming into Cartman's bedroom which is something that they really couldn't do in an episode of the show but they do it in that special thus making it stand out more here tho they really don't do that and as a result of that is the fact that the animation really doesn't stand out as much as really could have done either.

This episode does kind of a Frankenstein element to it with Stewie acting like Dr. Frankenstein and Rupert acting like Frankenstein's monster. Which was a good idea and was a good way to go with that idea and it does lead to really funny Frankenstein reference and even the idea of having Rupert come alive to try and kill Brain is a good idea and is a good thing to include in a Halloween special but at the same time it does seem weird that Rupert would only pick up on the fact that Stewie says in a fit of rage that he wants to see Brian dead and yet Rupert just straight up ignores the fact that both Stewie and Brian have had a alot of good times together and have had fallings out before now alot of which he was there for and openly saw them make up at the end of each episode and yet at the same time tho given that this version of Rupert is pretty much a bear of very little brain it does make sense that he would only pick up on certain things and it does make sense that he would he want to see Brian dead as he sees himself as being Stewie's other best friend when he wants to be the first person that Stewie wants to hang out with and not be his second choice the only thing is tho is that the special really doesn't give Rupert enough time to fully get across his personalities and what his motivations are even really meant to be in the first place.

The idea of doing a Family Guy halloween special does have the potential to be a really good idea as Family Guy is a more adult orientated show and there for it had the potential to be more adult then any of the The Simpsons Treehouse Of Horror episodes. Yet those episodes oddly feel more mature then what this episode does even tho this episode has someone almost die in it and does feature blood and yet it's The Simpsons that feel like it does the more mature horror themed episodes when on paper it should have been the other way around as Family Guy can go to places that The Simpsons just can't go to as Family Guy is aimed more towards teens and adults like a lot of horror movies are and there for this episode could have been a spin of horror movies but done in the family Guy and heck they even could have taken the Blue Harvest approach and retold a classic horror film but done with the Family Guy characters as that would have been a fun and creative way to do a horror special and yet for some reason tho the makers of this episode instead chose to do something that has very little to do with Halloween out side of the fact that you see Stewie trying to go trick or treating once in one scene and you see Peter and his friends trying to win a Pumpkin contest and that's really it and that's not a creative way to do a Halloween special even more when you take into account that other recently released specials like Velma and even the Spongebob Squarepants halloween special at least tried to go all the way that they could have done with the halloween aesthetic where as with this episode they don't even do the bare minimum. 

While this episode does get a few things wrong one of the things that it does get right is the idea of Joe trying to win Pumpkin contest. As it does feel like something that's true to his character as out of the group he does seem like the groups everyman who is just happy just to get to the end of the working week with a paycheck in his hand and as a result of that is the fact that ti does feel like it's very true to his character t want to win one of these contests and it makes it seem like that he has a live outside of whatever it is that Peter wants him to do that week and while the episode doesn't really develop his plot line as much as it really could have done and heck it doesn't even have that much fun with it's guest star either the episode does the most that it could have done with his plot line but at the same time tho the episode doesn't do any of it's characters any kind of justice as none of the characters are given much in the way of motivation as to what there actions are with the only exception being Stewie and that's really it and as a result of that is the fact that there's no reason for Peter , Cleveland and Quagmire to want to help Joe as none of them apart from Cleveland have shown a willingness to want to help a friend out as they'd all most likely laugh at him and that would be the end of it and yet Peter openly willing to help his friend is a key plot point and yet there's no reason for this change of heart which does make it seem out of character for him to act like that.

Now then this episode has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly twenty one minuets and fifty seconds. Which does seem like a really short running time for a special which typically run at around the forty to forty five minuet mark but the running time that this special does indeed have is pretty much the bogstandard running time for this show with this special having more then enough plot there to really cover that amount of running time but at the same time this special very easily could have reached the forty to forty five minuets running time just by expanding on Stewie's plotline which is not only the stronger of the two plotlines it's also the one that feels the most like a Family Guy halloween special plot line as well as that's where the makers of the episode got to have the most fun with the episode and given that the relationship between both Brian and Stewie is pretty much the heart of the show having there relationship get alot of focus on on what is basically the shows first ever special would make alot of sense as well and the special can't really develop there relationship as much as it really could have done with the specials current running time because as things stand the special has to rush to finish not but two plot lines and so the special has to rush from plot point to plot point and so of course things cant be as developed as they really should have been because of how short this specials running time is in the first place but i really admit that this special really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is a comedy that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very special well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very special was in all honesty not that bad. As the special does have some decent jokes in it alot of which do indeed work and land really well but at the same time tho this special does also have alot more bad jokes in it then it does have good jokes in it with alot more of this specials jokes just falling flat like the running joke of Bonnie obviously having something going on with Patrick McCloskey something that everyone but Joe seems to know about even when it's quite literally right there in his face which is funny at first but it gets more unfunny the more that the special keeps on brining it back and it gets to the point where the joke is more groan inducing then it is an actually really funny joke but when the episode does tell a decent joke it can be really funny like the fact that when Chris is at the halloween store at the start of the episode the first thing that he wants really to do is swing nunchucks around for no reason which was a really funny joke but sadly the special has alot more painfully unfunny jokes in it then it does have some really painfully funny jokes in it in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this special had all of the potential to be a really good special and yet for one reason or another this episode really can't live up to all of that potential and because of that it crumbles under it's own right when it should have been soring higher then ever before with it being unable to live up to all of that potential as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very episode in this review and as such that really does mean that this special really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 6.5 out of 10 from me.

The Beverly Hillbillies "The Clampetts Strike Oil" Review

There are an awful lot of TV sitcoms out there some of them are good and some of them not so much however Americans have only recently decided not to do that many traditional TV sitcoms. While yes there are still some being being made they really are very few and far between with the episode that i'm going to be talking about today being a good example of a traditional sitcom episode thar could in the right hands still work today and so then join me as I review the episode that sees a bunch of hillbillies that move California with the episode in question being called simply just "The Clampetts Strike Oil" enjoy.

The plot of this episode is when family head Jed Clampett is told that a piece of his land is full of oil that would make him rich he has to choose between leaving the life that he loves so much behind or uprooting his entire family to California. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad as it was a very simple that was very easy to follow along with which is something that does work in a sitcom format as for a sitcom episode you don't really want episodes that are very deep and very thought provoking you just want a simple set up that allows itself for a lot of jokes to be told and having a very deep and meaningful plot would get in the wat of doing that and while yes having a deep and meaningful plot is something that could and has worked for various other TV shows in the past those shows are nine times out of ten drama's and comedies and to this episodes credit the plot of the episode is fairly decent plot as it does do a very good job of setting up the main characters in a way that feels organic with the plot of this episode also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Also starring in this episode is Max Baer, Jr. as Jethro Bodine , Petticoat Junction and The Flintstones star Bea Benaderet as Pearl Bodine , Raymond Bailey as Milburn Drysdale , Nancy Kulp as Jane Hathaway , Frank Wilcox as Mr. Brewster , Ron Hagerthy as The Geologist and Bob Osborne as Jeff Taylor.

Now then interms of what I personally thought /felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad. As alot of this episodes actors are quite clearly trying there absolutely best to turn in a really good performance at the same time this episodes acting really isn't as good as it really could have been either with alot of the acting coming across as being really wooden and over the top when it would have made more sense to go the opposite direction with this episodes which is a shame as when we do get some really good acting in this episode it is something that really does stand out like the scene with Jed trying to work out what if he should move his family to California or not this scene works because of the fact that the acting is really subtle and it really wouldn't work at all if the exact same scene was acted in a very over the type and campy sort of way with the acting that's in this very episode not really being helped by the fact that this script is just so bad as it gives none of this episodes actors absolutely nothing to work with interms of what it is that there respective characters personalities are even meant to be in the first place which is something that really does help to lower the overall quality of the acting that's in this very episode.

One of the very few things that this episode does infact get right is the fact that it has a ton of really likable main characters in it. With all of this episodes main characters being extremely likable characters in there own right this is something that you don't usually see in sitcoms anymore as alot of them put alot of focus on telling the jokes then they do in creating good and likable characters and while the characters that are in this very episode aren't good characters by any stretch of the imagination that doesn't mean that they aren't likable character as they are as we the audience get to see moments in this episode that make them likable with Jed taking the time to fully consider weather moving his whole entire family across the country would be the for the best ultimately deciding to so after hearing that his daughter could get the chance of a decent education which is something that makes him a really likable character in his own right where as with Ellie May we get to see her helping her family out all through out the episode with the same thing also being true for the rest of the family members and while Milburn Drysdale is also the series main villain as he's after Jed's money even then it could be argued that he's only acting that way because of the fact that he works for a bank and is therefor his job and might not represent who he is as a character.

Even tho this show lasted for nine seasons and was a very popular show back when it first started airing back in 1962. It only got cancelled because of the fact that CBS listened to there advertisers who didn't want rural shows and wanted more shows set in a city and so in response to that CBS cancelled all of their rural shows regardless of how popular that they were this sadly also included Lassie which at the time it was cancelled had been on the air for around twenty years if anything while yes this show should have been cancelled as it only had a very limited shelf life something which is seen in this episode as well as show like Lassie could still e on the air today as it was a show that was that well written and that the whole family could sit down and watch and enjoy and yet the fact that they cancelled it without a second thought does show that CBS cared more about what there advertisers thought then what there audience was watching as while yes not alot of people where watching this show by the time it was cancelled people where still tuning into Lassie and heck people today still do no all about Lassie as it's really a story that's that well known and well liked as well and out of all of the rural shows that did get cancelled in what was dubbed "The Rural Purge" Lassie really is the only one that could still work today where as this show while it could still work today it's also a show is so rooted in the time that it was made that it would need an awful lot of updating in order to do it and to do it some form justice as well.

Getting back to this episode the episode does do something that was rather unexpected and that's the fact that we barely get to spend any time if Beverly Hills at all. With a whole lot of the episode being spent in Jed's swamp which we don;t even get to find out where the swamp is but at the same time the fact that the episode does sent quite alot of time there does give us the audience the chance to see what the family is like in there rural setting and get to see just what a typical day in the life is like for these characters and it's during these scenes that the episode does feel the most interesting as it's a setting that we don't really get to see in sitcoms at all with most sitcoms starting there first episode with the characters in the location that we the audience are going to spending alot of the series in and that's really it where as here the episode dares to do something that is something that really does work well enough for this episode as it gives us a chance to form a connection with these characters both before and during the main plot of the episode which only makes it all the more entertaining when we do get to see the whole family move out of California as we the the audience then get to have a pretty good idea of how those characters would react to anything in the big city and while yes the show as a whole does do the whole hillbillies are really dumb stereotype it is something that does somewhat work for this episode as it is the shows the first episode overall.

If there are some negatives to be found in this episode one of them would have to be the fact that when the show does indeed shift locations to California it stops becoming interesting with the episode being more interesting when the family are at there home in there swamp. This is something that couldn't really be fixed easily given the whole set up of the show but at the same time tho both locations should have been given equal time to be fully stablished and not have one get more more attention then then other the other issue with this episode is the fact that they do do the whole hillbillies are dumb stereotype which is fine for a couple of minuets as it does lead to some really cute moments with the characters but when that becomes the vast majority of the things that the characters say and do then it does become a huge issue as it shows that the makers of this show really didn't know how to write these type of characters which is understandable given the time that this show was being made but at the same tho it is something that does hold the characters back from being as good as they really could be as they just boil down to that one stereotype and because of that the characters can't be that interesting that is despite the fact that they all have the potential to be some really good characters and heck even the characters that live in California aren't that well set up either due to the fact that the episode only spends around five minuets in total in California.

Now then this episode has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly twenty five minuets and forty four seconds. Which is pretty much the bogstandard running time for this show and to this episodes credit it really does have more then enough there in terms of plot to really cover that right amount of running time but at the same time tho the episode could have worked just as well if the makers of the show did get the family out of the swamp and into California alot sooner then what it does as that would then allow not only for alot of fish out of water comedy which is what the whole based around but it would also allow for the makers of the episode to also fully set up the California side characters alot better then what it really does as well because as things stand those are the characters that really do suffer as we get to find out nothing about them in this episode which is something that does make sense as this only the first episode and rather rightfully the episode does focus on it's main characters but at the same time tho given that the episode does take the time to at least somewhat develop it's side characters when the family are at the swamp it only makes you wonder why they didn't take the time to do the same thing when the characters are in California something that they very easily could have done if they did cut down on alot of the early pointless scenes with the family at the swamp as alot of those scenes do feel quite alot like filler scenes but I really will admit that this episode really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is a comedy that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad. However at the same time tho alot of this episodes jokes aren't that good either as pretty much all of this episodes jokes stem from the fact that the family aren't the smartest tools in the shed which is fine for one or two jokes when there in California as at least there those types of jokes would make some what sense but they do those kinds of jokes even when the family are in there home swamp when you'd you expect them to be the smartest person in the room and that is something that does make the joke wear thin very quickly as there's only so many times that you tell that joke before it gets old and here in this episode it does get old really fast and if these are types of the jokes in this episode then it makes you wonder what kind of jokes are in the rest of the series as well as you usually get alot of the shows best jokes in the first episode as way to get people hooked into the show and while yes there are some funny jokes in the episode like the fact that when they arrive at there new home the clampetts do think that the gardeners are escaped prisoners and that there new is the prison that there escaping from is a good joke and to be fair the episode does go all the way with that joke but alot of the rest of this episodes jokes just aren't that good and are rather repetitive as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall whilst this wasn't a bad first episode it wasn't necessarily a good first episode either as the episode as whole does have alot of potential but it also has alot of faults that do stop it from reaching that potential and be as good as it really could have been and while yes the rest of the series might get really better this first episode is nothing more then an average episode when it could have been a really good first episode in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very episode in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very episode really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 5 out of 10 from me.

My SPOILER FILLED First Impressions Of The Dragon Ball Daima TV Series

It's quite fair to say that the Dragon Ball franchise is the biggest anime franchise in the whole entire world with it also being one of the most well known anime franchises as well. As such it really wasn't really that surprising when they announced that a brand new Dragon Ball anime would be airing and well then the first episode of this shown aired just a few short days and you all just knew that I had to watch it the very first chance that I got and so then join me as I give you SPOILER FILLED my first impressions of the show that is the last piece of Dragon Ball media that creator Akira Toriyama worked on with the show in question being called simply just "Dragon Ball Daima" enjoy.

The plot of this episode is the first thing that's wrong with the episode as the episode itself has no plot to speak. While yes there is loose plot thread of the new Demon King King Gomah coming to earth to gather earth's Dragon Balls that's not really enough to sustain an entire episode of the show heck it's barely enough to sustain a small short film and as a result of that is the fact that we do end up with scenes that are just for the sake of being there as they add nothing to the overall story that's being told to us on screen with the opening of the episode feeling more like a badly done clip show episode with none of that they're showing us really playing into affect in this episode with this episodes plot being so thin as well that at times it really was hard to tell what the actual plot of the episode even was as it's something that not only doesn't get focused on all that much when they do focus on it's not developed enough to the point where it could make a good first episode of a TV show and this is something that Akira Toriyama himself worked on and I really doubt that he didn't give them any notes on hoe to make the episode better and if they he did then they most likely ignored them and instead chose to rehash plot of something that didn't work back in the nineties with the plot of this episode not even being really rather entertaining and nor is it really rather engaging either in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Yumiko Kobayashi as Supreme Mini Kai , Junya Enoki as Degesu and Naoki Tatsuta as The Narrator.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad. As it's quite clear as day that all of this episodes actors really are trying there absolutely best to try and make this episodes script work for them which is something that really does make alot of sense when you take into account that alot of if not all of this episodes actors are reprising their roles from other Dragon Ball media and have been playing there respective characters for years at this point and as result of that is the fact that they really would know what kind of performance would best suit there character in any given situation but at the same time tho this script just isn't that good and as a result of that is the fact that the episodes actors can't do there best work and do kind of feel lost in the shuffle because of it and elevate the script with the acting in this episode not really being helped by the fact that the script for this episode is just so bad as it gives none of this episodes actors absolutely nothing to work with interms of what it is that there respective characters personalities are even meant to be in the very first place and that is something that really does help to lower down the overall quality of the acting that's in this very episode.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well the in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty really good with this episodes animation being the best part of the episode as a whole which is something that does also make alot of sense as Toei Animation have nearly always produced some really good animation in alot of if not all of there shows and movies with the same thing also being true for this episode as well with this episodes characters having some really nice and fluid movements to them as well with the episodes good looking animation even stretching out to the fact that the backgrounds in this episode do look really good with them all being filled to the brim with the kind of detail that Japanese anime is really known with the episode only using CGI a very small handful of times mostly when it comes to when you can quite clearly see the ground that the characters are walking on and even the CGI whilst it does stand out a little bit does also look really well and blends in really well with the episodes 2D hand drawn animation as well.

To be blunt this show is just a more modern remake of Dragon Ball GT even down to the fact that Goku gets turned into a kid. Except here it happens at the end of the episode and doesn't happen earlier on in the episode and in this episode it's Goku and all of the his friends and family that get turned into kids and not just Goku himself but with this show pretty much being nothing more then a remake of a show that nobody liked let alone watched in the first place it makes you wonder why the makers of this shoe chose to go this route with the show when you could have done something alot more creative with the characters like maybe somebody steals the Dragon Balls and and makes a wish that causes Goku to loose and friends to loose all of there strength thus lower there respective power numbers with the characters deciding to get the Dragon Balls back since their strength was stolen from them by magic then maybe magic is the only way that it could restored to them this is a creative thing to do with the characters and it makes the villain of the show all the more powerful and it means that any fight that the main characters could now get into could also be their final one as they have no strength and have no power level and as a result of that is the fact that now the audience have a reason to watch episode two and to care for the main characters and to hate the main villains as well all because of what the main villains have stolen from our heroes and this is something that's really missing just from this very first episode.

For some strange reason the makers of this show thought it was a smart decision to make the opening ten or so minuets of this episode be nothing more then a recap of the end of Dragon Ball Z. This is something that didn't work if Dragon Ball Super Broly and it's not something that works here as while yes it is a good thing to remind people of what happend at the end of Dragon Ball Z all it does is remind people that they could have been watching a much more better show and yet that's exactly what it does here in this episode and it doesn't work as you want to get to the main heroes right away as those are the characters that people really won't to see and not some characters that we haven't seen before now and that we have no connection to whatsoever where as if that entire opening ten minuets were cut out from the episode and we just just got right to Goku and friends right away we could have a calm before the storm moment where everything is nice and good and the characters are laughing and joking with each other and just behaving like we all know them to and yet because of the fact the fact that the episode spends alot of time on just the recap not only do we miss out on the calm before the storm moment but also the episode can't set up it's new main villains and as a result of that is the fact that we audience have no reason to care for these villains and we have no reason to want to see Goku and friends beat them as the episode doesn't give us a reason to hate them.

Speaking of this episodes villains they like the rest of the episode are just so boring as there's nothing about there personality that sticks out. With all of them not really being given alot of stuff to do that actually gives us a chance to see what these characters are like with the closest things we get to getting a good insight into our new villains being Dr. Arinsu who is a smart person who is always one step ahead ahead of people and that's really it with the episode not giving us a reason to hate any of these new characters out side of the fact that there the villains and that's really and while yes granted this is only the first episode and so then to expect them to be fully fleshed out after the first episode would be foolish but at the same time if the foundations for the characters aren't solid then it really doesn't matter how good they get later on because the foundations will always be faulty and could always crumble inwards at anytime and on top of that it also makes the characters seem less interesting as there's nothing about these characters that really stand out and a hero can only be as good as the villains that there facing even if you take a look at Goku's best villains they all forced him to be better and to be a more interesting character because of that fact here tho because of the fact that all of these characters aren't that interesting it's going to have the add on effect of making Goku himself seem like a bad and less interesting character and all of this sis something that could have been fixed by giving us the audience a reason to care for these characters in the first place.

Now then this episode has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly thirty two minuets and five seconds. With this episode being a full ten minuets longer then what the rest of the episodes will be and by god do you really feel those extra ten minuets with this episode not having enough there interms of plot to really cover that amount of running time with those extra minuets coming from the episodes pointless recap scene at the start of the episode all of which really does serve to confirm the belief that that flashback scene is nothing more then padding for an episode that really didn't need padding out whatsoever as you very easily could have reach then that exact same running tie by not only fleshing out the plot so that it flows in a more organic way but by also taking the tie to actually getting us the audience to actually care about the new characters this is something that should have taken top priority as these characters haven't been before now and as a result of that is the fact that us the audience really have no reason to care for them going into the episode and that is something that really could have been fixed by spending those extra ten minuets by fleshing them out and giving them a personality which is something that really would have gone a long way to make these characters at least appear to be somewhat memorable but I really will admit that this episode really does have some really bad pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is an action show that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual action that's actually featured / resented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad. AS we did have only one action scene in the whole entire episode as the rest of the action that we got was action from the end of Dragon Ball Z with the only newly done action scene in this episode is  very brief fight between Goku and Vegeta and that's really it and to be fair that's all you really need as your always going to get god when you have those to characters fighting and while we don't get to see much of them as them fighting as the episode for some strange reason cuts away from it pretty much as soon as it starts what very little that we do actually get to see from there fight is really good which is something that really does make a whole lot of sense as this franchise has always had some really good fight scenes in it something that was even true for something like Dragonball Evolution which had alot of really good looking fight scenes in it and while the action in this episode was still really good we the audience still like to actually watch the action and cutting away from it as soon as it starts just doesn't make a whole lot of sense in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall to say that this episode was boring would be like saying Dragonball Evolution is a bad movie as this episode really is just that boring and if this is only the first episode then it really does make you where the rest of the episodes will go and if the rest of the episodes will be just as bad and just as boring as this episode really was as this episode really was a really boring episode in the first pace in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very episode in this very post and since this is only my first impressions I won't be giving this show a rating however if this post does decently well and if you guys want me to check out another episode then I will do it and that post would then be a review of that episode and that episode only and not a review of the show as a whole.

Phineas And Ferb The Movie: Across The 2nd Dimension Film Review

Back in the early to mid late twenty tens there was one animated franchise that you really couldn't escape from and that was Phineas And Ferb. With the franchise spawning a hugely successful TV show and a talk show at the time it only made sense for the duo to star in there own movie and as a result of that is the fact that it wasn't all that surprising when Disney Channel announced that they would be making the very first Phineas And Ferb movie and so then join me I review the film that is a great way to do a series to movie movie with the film in question being called simply just "Phineas And Ferb The Movie: Across The 2nd Dimension" enjoy.

The plot of this movie is after Phineas and Ferb accidentally help Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz build a device that allows them to travel to another dimension all three of them plus Perry find an alternate universe that is ruled by a more evil Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz and is hell bent on taking over the boys universe. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good as it's the kind of plot that you could only do in a movie and not one that feels like an extended episode of the show which is something that alot of TV show to movie adaptations fall into and as a result of that is the fact that this film is worth watching due to the plot alone as it's a plot that you could only find in a movie and that could only work in a movie and while yes the plot could have had some elements better explained that's not really a fault of the plot as that's more due to the movies short running time with the plot of this film really being helped by the fact that it does feel like a true extension of the show with it also representing all of the best elements from the show as well with the plot also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about that actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. With all of this films actors really turning in some really good performances which is something that really does make alot of sense as all of this films actors have been playing there respective characters for years at this points and would there for really know how best to perform there respective characters and what kind of performances that there characters would give in any given situation with it really being helped by the fact that alot of this films actors are also a bunch of really good actors in their own right as well and while yes there are a few performances that aren't as good as others like for example Mitchel Musso who despite him being a very good actor in his own right in this film doesn't deliver as good of a performance as the rest of the films actors do with the same thing also being true for Kelly Hu as Stacy Hirano who is decent in this film but isn't as good as she really could have been with the acting that's in this film really being helped by the fact that this films script is just so good that all this films actors really have to do is just say the lines as they are written and a good performance will come out of them naturally which is something that really does help to raise the overall quality of the acting that's in this very film.

Doing the animation for this film is Hosem Animation Studio , Suzhou Hong Ying Animation , Synergy Animation and Wang Film Productions Company. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good with the animation that's in this very film more then holding up over ten years later with the fact that this films animation being as good as it is something that's not all that surprising as the shows animation was already really good in the first place and yet the films animation is not only on par with the animation from the show but at times is actually better then the shows animation with the one big issue with the films animation is the fact that they give Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz alot of really exaggerated which feels very cartoonish even for for this film and can at times also be very distracting as well even more so when you take into account that they don't do ti with any other character in the film which makes you wonder why they only did it with his character when it would have stood out alot less if they gave more of this films characters those more exaggerated movements as well with the films backgrounds looking really good and the characters do also have some really nice fluid movements to them as well.

Unlike other TV show that got move adaptations this one isn't a prequel to the main show with it taking part during the shows third season. While the events of the movie don't effect the the show as they make sure to explain in the movie why very little from the movie will be brought up in the show it is great to see a movie adaptation of a TV takes part during the show as it shows that the makers of the show are using the movie to tell a bigger story that an episode of the show really couldn't tell as for example The Powerpuff Girls Movie plot could have had it's story told in a single twenty two minuet special episode of the show where as because this movie doesn't tell the story of how the boys first met each other as it instead focuses on just another day in their lives it allows the film to have more dramatic moments in it something that wouldn't be possible if the film was a prequel to the show as we'd already know how things already end for all of the shows characters and while yes there is a prequel aspect to the show it's one that actually serves the plot of the movie and adds to the characters own personal character arcs as well and aren't just there for the sake of being there which does allow for that flashback moment really to have some emotional impact something that really wouldn't be all that possible if this film was a prequel film.

As a musical this film does have songs that are written by Aliki Theofilopoulos , Antoine Guilbaub , Dan Povenmire , Danny Jacob , Jeff "Swampy" Marsh , Martin Olson , Michael Gerard Culross Jr. , Jaret Reddick and Slash. With this film having alot of really good songs in it and while yes alot of those films aren't that good the ones that are really do stand out and really do get you excited whilst watching the film with the best example of this being "Robot Riot" which is something that does make for a really good action song with one of the worst songs in this film just due to how boring and forgettable that it is is quite easily "Brand New Reality" as while "Brand New Best Friend" isn't that good of a song it is still a fun song that is sung decently well where as the same thing cannot be said for "Brand New Reality" which isn't that fun of a song as all it is is a song that's basically just describing what's happening on screen and not really adding anything funny to it something that alot of Phineas And Ferb songs are known to do and while yes the song is decently well sung it's also a song that really does add nothing to the overall plot of the film and would have been much more better off if it wasn't including in the final cut of the film and while the sing does have alot more good songs then it does bad ones when the film does have a bad song you really do know about it and the songs in question really do stand out because of how bad that they are.

Comedy wise the film does have all of the types of jokes that you'd come to expect from an episode of the show. However tho those are the only types of jokes that the film has an while those type of weird jokes might work for an average episode of the show for the movie that three times the length of the show they really did need more of a verity of jokes to he included in this film and while alot of the films jokes are indeed funny the film does also have alot of jokes that just don't land as well as they really could have done or just straight up haven't aged all that well in the thirteen years since this film first premiered as having the same kind of weird jokes might work for an episode of the show as the show doesn't that long of a running time to tell it's story and as as result of that is the fact that they can get away with characters singing about doing mundane things and while that is something that does also work in the film as well when the film does some really weird things like having a universe be made up of a giant balloon babies head or by having a universe made up of a man sitting down and that's really it they don't really hit as well as they could have done because there not something that's built up whereas in the show they would at the very least have some sort of build up to there weird jokes something that the movie doesn't take the time to do even tho the movie has a longer running time then the average episode of the show does.

Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour and sixteen minuets and forty eight seconds. Which is a really solid running tie for this film to have as this film really does have more then enough there interms of plot to really cover that large amount of running time which sis something that really does help this movie not feel like an extended episode of the show which is something that it really could have dine but yet because of the fact that the makers of this film took full advantage of the fact that this is the movie then they really did go all out even more so with the movies extended running time as well as now we get to find out how Perry and first met and we get to find out how Phineas reacts when he finds out that Perry is actually a secret agent something that wouldn't be able to be done in the show and this is something that does make this movie feel all the more special because of it and while the film really could have used a little bit longer of a running time as that would then allow the makers of the film to fully expand on the alternate universe alot more then what they already do and it also allow for the makers of this film to fully develop the alternate universe versions of all of the films characters as well something which the film really doesn't take the time to do and it would also allow for alot of the films dialog very early on the film to be alot more slower then what it really actually is as well but I really will admit that this film really does gave some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is ana action film that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this veery film was in all honesty really good. With all of this films action scenes being some really good action and having some really creative and good looking action in them as well and while yes we do get alot of CGI animation during this films action scenes it is something that adds to the action as we get to see the scale of the treat that our heroes have to overcome and while that would have been easy to do in 2D it also would have been alot of hard work to animate and it helps that its during this films epic third act fight scene that we get "Robot Riot" which is just such a good song in it's own right and it's one that really does help make that action scene all the more better then what it already is as not only do we have all the inventions that have been featured in the series up until that point coming back into play we also get a really good song playing over it which really does help to make the scene all the more exciting then what it already is with all of this films action scenes being really good in there won right as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this movie is not only that holds up really well almost fifteen years later but it is also a really good representation of the show as well as it gives you everything that you love about the show only now it's in a movie format and while that doesn't always work in this movie when it does work it really does work out really well in this movie in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very film really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 7.5 out of 10 from me.

Tomb Raider: The Legend Of Lara Croft TV Series SPILER FREE TV Series Review

Video game adaptation did have a reputation of being really bad but over recent years we've been seeing quite alot of actually good video game adaptations. While the rend has started to die down with the release of the terrible Borderlands movie that doesn't mean that good video game adaptations are dying down with Netflix being the next one in line to release a video game adaptation and so then join me as I give you my SPOILER FREE review the show that is actually the second ever Tomb Raider animated series with the series in question being called simply just "Tomb Raider: The Legend Of Lara Croft" enjoy.

The plot of this show is when a box is stolen like object is stolen from her it's up to Lara Croft to get it back and save the world from the dangers that are within the object before it's far to late. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very show well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very show was in all honesty not that bad as it was a plot line that was a lot better then what it really had any right to be but at the same time this is a plot that really isn't as focused as it rally should have been either with the show feeling alot more episodic in nature instead of telling one story all the way through out and while this is understandable as they do have to give us the audience clues as to what's actually going on but at the same time tho the plot of this show really should have been alot more interesting then what it actually is with the plot of this show really trying to hard to be a really dark and edgy plot instead of just being one and that is something that does hold back the plot from being really as good as it really could have been with the plot of this show also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that'd actually featured / presented to us in this very show well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very show was in all honesty not that bad. With the actors that you expect a good performance giving us the kind of performance that you'd really expect to them give but that's also the problem as it's the exact same kind of performance kind of performance that you expect from these actors and when they give you exactly that it makes it feel like that there phoning in their performance and only going half way with everything as the acting in a show like this one really should have been alot better then what it was and while yes alot of this shows actors do indeed give us some really good performances alot more of this shows actors just give us some flat bad , boring and to be frank some really rather uninspired performances as well all of which lower the quality oof the acting even further then what it already was and makes this shows acting appear to be far more worse then what it already is with the best performer in this show being Hayley Atwell as Lara Croft who sounds just right for this shows version of Lara Croft with the acting that's in this very show not really being helped bu the fact that this shows scripts are just so bad as it gives none of this shows actors absolutely nothing to work with interms of what it is that there respective characters personalities are even meant to be in the first place which is something that really does affect the overall quality of the acting that's in this very show.

Doing the animation for this show is the legends and the greats that are currently over at Powerhouse Animation Studios. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very show well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very show was in all honesty not that bad for the most part as while the characters do indeed have some really nice looking and some really fluid movements to them the animation that's in this very show can also look cheap looking as well as the show frequently tries to hide characters mouths when there talking and will do other such tricks to make it appear as if there's more going on with the animation then what there's actually happening all of which makes the show appear more cheap looking then what it actually is which is something that really shouldn't be the case as this is a show that isn't being independently made as it's being made by Legendary Pictures for Netflix and as a result of that is the fact that they really shouldn't be cutting as much corners as they cut in this show and while it would be understandable if they were cutting corners because they had some big animated set piece to get to in a later episode that simply isn't even close to being the case when it comes to this show but to be tho this show does have some really nice looking CGI and some really nice looking backgrounds to it tho but that's really all this show has going for it animation wise.

As with alot of things it seems these days this show did also spawn some very minor controversy with the deign of it's main character. As for some strange reason the makers of this show chose not to use the classic design for Lara Croft as that's the design that has constantly proven to not only sell well as has been proven not only by the release of the classic trilogy remasters but also but also due to all of the figures featuring this design for the character selling more better then the more recent design for her and yet for some strange reason the makers of this show chose to use a design that's a mixture of the original classic design and the more recent 2013 design which just makes the character look ugly as it doesn't really fit the character at all and it makes her look more like a man then it does a woman and because of that is the fact that her design is very unappealing to look at this is despite the fact that the character does have a good voice to her and while the voice does match up with the design the actual look for the character is one that won't please alot of die hard fans of the games nor will it please alot of people that like animation for that matter but it is a design that could very easily please people who perhaps don't play the games all that much and perhaps only have a passing interest in the world of animation but that's really it.

This show really does continue a shocking trend of producing bad to OK video game adaptations something which we all thought was dead and buried. As this show doesn't really feel like a Tomb Raider show as instead it feels like a show that was made for the modern audience in mind and not the people that actually play the games and that actually know the characters inside and out ad while that can be good as it does allow for a fresh perspective here because of iconic the Lara Croft character is it really does show you that this show should have been made not only by the die hard fans of the games but for those people as those are the ones that are going to be playing the games when they come out on day one and yet because they don't we get alot of badly written characters with all of the characters having alot of really unnecessary drama and in the case of Lara Croft herself acting so far out of character even for her 2013 self that she really does feel like a new character and while her character isn't as bad as what they did with Velma in that show as at least Lara Croft is somewhat likeable it still doesn't excuse the fact that she doesn't act in character as Lara Croft is someone who rebels against what her father wants her to do and what society wants her to do and because of that she because an adrenaline junkie and is willing to do these dangerous things not because she has to but because she wants to and that also means that she raids tombs for the fun of it and very little of that is present in the character in this show.

To give this show at least some form of credit it is better then the terrible Borderlands movie as at least this show does try to get some aspects of the games down perfectly. Where as it was the opposite that was true for the Borderlands movie that was just a lame tame terrible movie , here with this show there's an effort to bring the games to the small screen sadly the games that there trying to bring to the small screen isn't the original games it's the games from the 2013 series onwards and as a result of that is the fact that thee is a lot of focus on Lara's relationship with her father and not enough development on the side characters with the side characters being even worse written then what Lara herself is as none of this shows side characters have anything that's all that memorable about there character and really serve no purpose to the plot of these batch of episodes and really are just there so that Lara can have someone to talk to and not because of the fact that they serve any meaningful purpose and if the the trade off is if it means that she doesn't get to talk t alot of characters but the plot is more focused then i'd rather have that then have a character that talks to others alot but because of that the plot feels alot less focused because of the fact that the show has to deal with one of the side characters subplots and not the main plot as the subplot could have been held off where as the show is only eight episodes long and there for the main plot of show should have gotten more of focus.

Now then while I cannot for the absolutely life of me remember whatever this shows grand total running tome even was I do know that this show has / had an exact grand total running tome of roughly two hours and thirty minuets. With this show being eight episodes long which it really didn't need to be that long at all as the show really doesn't have enough there interms of plot to really cover that large amount of episodes as at best the show has the right amount of plot for six or seven episodes at the maximum and that's really it and as a result of that is the fact that the eighth and final episode not only feels like a pointless prologue scene but it also feels like a setup for the next batch of episodes of nothing that they discuss in that episode came into play in the earlier episodes and has no bearing on either the main plot or the subplot either which makes that episode feel pointless and while it doesn't drag down the season as a whole it is something that really should have been thought off as those first fifteen minuets from episode 8 could have been tacked onto the end of episode 7 and given that episode 1 has a longer running time then the rest of the show it wouldn't seem out of place as such it really would have made for episode 7 to be that little bit longer then the rest of this shows first batch of episodes really was but I really will admit that this show really does ave some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is an action show that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very show well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very show was in all honesty not that bad. As there are some really good looking action scenes in this whole show and while the animation really isn't shown off all that well during the episodes action like you'd expect to be the case it doesn't stop the fact that the shows action does at times get to be really exciting and really fun to watch which at the end of the day is something that you'd want to be the case in a Tomb Raider but none of that means anything f you don't care for the characters and sadly the show doesn't make you care for the characters and as a result of that is the fact that even tho we do get some really good action that is more then satisfactory it doesn't change the fact that when something dangerous does indeed happen to our hero character it doesn't mean anything because we the audience haven't been given a reason to really care for these characters outside of the fact that there the heroes and that's really it and that's not something that works despite the fact that the shows action is really exciting and really fun to fun to watch with all of this shows eight episodes having at least one action scene which is really good to watch in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall these first batch of episodes aren't that bad but they do also have their faults as well and as a result of that is the fact that we get a show that really will only please the more casual fans of this franchise but won't please the die hard fans of this franchise when it's the die hard fans that should be pleased with this show in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very show in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very show really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 5.5 out of 10 from me.
