Phineas And Ferb The Movie: Across The 2nd Dimension Film Review

Back in the early to mid late twenty tens there was one animated franchise that you really couldn't escape from and that was Phineas And Ferb. With the franchise spawning a hugely successful TV show and a talk show at the time it only made sense for the duo to star in there own movie and as a result of that is the fact that it wasn't all that surprising when Disney Channel announced that they would be making the very first Phineas And Ferb movie and so then join me I review the film that is a great way to do a series to movie movie with the film in question being called simply just "Phineas And Ferb The Movie: Across The 2nd Dimension" enjoy.

The plot of this movie is after Phineas and Ferb accidentally help Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz build a device that allows them to travel to another dimension all three of them plus Perry find an alternate universe that is ruled by a more evil Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz and is hell bent on taking over the boys universe. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good as it's the kind of plot that you could only do in a movie and not one that feels like an extended episode of the show which is something that alot of TV show to movie adaptations fall into and as a result of that is the fact that this film is worth watching due to the plot alone as it's a plot that you could only find in a movie and that could only work in a movie and while yes the plot could have had some elements better explained that's not really a fault of the plot as that's more due to the movies short running time with the plot of this film really being helped by the fact that it does feel like a true extension of the show with it also representing all of the best elements from the show as well with the plot also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is Vincent Martella as Phineas Flynn and Phineas-2 and Thomas Brodie-Sangster as Ferb Fletcher. Also starring in this film is Dee Bradley Baker as Perry The Platypus , Perry The Platyborg , Pinky and Goozim , this films co-writer , co-producer and co-director Dan Povenmire as Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz and Doofenshmirtz-2 , Ashley Tisdale as Candace Flynn and Candace-2 , this films co-writer and co-producer Jeff "Swampy" Marsh as Major Monogram and Monogram-2 , Tyler Alexander Mann as Carl , Mitchel Musso as Jeremy Johnson and Jeremy-2 , Alyson Stoner as Isabella Garcia-Shapiro and Isabella-2 , Caroline Rhea as Linda Flynn-Fletcher and Linda-2 , Richard O'Brien as Lawrence Fletcher and Lawrence-2 , John Viener as Norm , Kelly Hu as Stacy Hirano , Maulik Pancholy as Baljeet Tijinder and Baljeet-2 , Bobby Gaylor as Buford Van Stomm and Buford-2 , Jack McBrayer as Irving Du Bois , Jaret Reddick as Danny , Ariel Winter as Gretchen-2 , Todd Stashwick as Mr. Johnson and Doris Roberts as Mrs. Thompson.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about that actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. With all of this films actors really turning in some really good performances which is something that really does make alot of sense as all of this films actors have been playing there respective characters for years at this points and would there for really know how best to perform there respective characters and what kind of performances that there characters would give in any given situation with it really being helped by the fact that alot of this films actors are also a bunch of really good actors in their own right as well and while yes there are a few performances that aren't as good as others like for example Mitchel Musso who despite him being a very good actor in his own right in this film doesn't deliver as good of a performance as the rest of the films actors do with the same thing also being true for Kelly Hu as Stacy Hirano who is decent in this film but isn't as good as she really could have been with the acting that's in this film really being helped by the fact that this films script is just so good that all this films actors really have to do is just say the lines as they are written and a good performance will come out of them naturally which is something that really does help to raise the overall quality of the acting that's in this very film.

Doing the animation for this film is Hosem Animation Studio , Suzhou Hong Ying Animation , Synergy Animation and Wang Film Productions Company. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good with the animation that's in this very film more then holding up over ten years later with the fact that this films animation being as good as it is something that's not all that surprising as the shows animation was already really good in the first place and yet the films animation is not only on par with the animation from the show but at times is actually better then the shows animation with the one big issue with the films animation is the fact that they give Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz alot of really exaggerated which feels very cartoonish even for for this film and can at times also be very distracting as well even more so when you take into account that they don't do ti with any other character in the film which makes you wonder why they only did it with his character when it would have stood out alot less if they gave more of this films characters those more exaggerated movements as well with the films backgrounds looking really good and the characters do also have some really nice fluid movements to them as well.

Unlike other TV show that got move adaptations this one isn't a prequel to the main show with it taking part during the shows third season. While the events of the movie don't effect the the show as they make sure to explain in the movie why very little from the movie will be brought up in the show it is great to see a movie adaptation of a TV takes part during the show as it shows that the makers of the show are using the movie to tell a bigger story that an episode of the show really couldn't tell as for example The Powerpuff Girls Movie plot could have had it's story told in a single twenty two minuet special episode of the show where as because this movie doesn't tell the story of how the boys first met each other as it instead focuses on just another day in their lives it allows the film to have more dramatic moments in it something that wouldn't be possible if the film was a prequel to the show as we'd already know how things already end for all of the shows characters and while yes there is a prequel aspect to the show it's one that actually serves the plot of the movie and adds to the characters own personal character arcs as well and aren't just there for the sake of being there which does allow for that flashback moment really to have some emotional impact something that really wouldn't be all that possible if this film was a prequel film.

As a musical this film does have songs that are written by Aliki Theofilopoulos , Antoine Guilbaub , Dan Povenmire , Danny Jacob , Jeff "Swampy" Marsh , Martin Olson , Michael Gerard Culross Jr. , Jaret Reddick and Slash. With this film having alot of really good songs in it and while yes alot of those films aren't that good the ones that are really do stand out and really do get you excited whilst watching the film with the best example of this being "Robot Riot" which is something that does make for a really good action song with one of the worst songs in this film just due to how boring and forgettable that it is is quite easily "Brand New Reality" as while "Brand New Best Friend" isn't that good of a song it is still a fun song that is sung decently well where as the same thing cannot be said for "Brand New Reality" which isn't that fun of a song as all it is is a song that's basically just describing what's happening on screen and not really adding anything funny to it something that alot of Phineas And Ferb songs are known to do and while yes the song is decently well sung it's also a song that really does add nothing to the overall plot of the film and would have been much more better off if it wasn't including in the final cut of the film and while the sing does have alot more good songs then it does bad ones when the film does have a bad song you really do know about it and the songs in question really do stand out because of how bad that they are.

Comedy wise the film does have all of the types of jokes that you'd come to expect from an episode of the show. However tho those are the only types of jokes that the film has an while those type of weird jokes might work for an average episode of the show for the movie that three times the length of the show they really did need more of a verity of jokes to he included in this film and while alot of the films jokes are indeed funny the film does also have alot of jokes that just don't land as well as they really could have done or just straight up haven't aged all that well in the thirteen years since this film first premiered as having the same kind of weird jokes might work for an episode of the show as the show doesn't that long of a running time to tell it's story and as as result of that is the fact that they can get away with characters singing about doing mundane things and while that is something that does also work in the film as well when the film does some really weird things like having a universe be made up of a giant balloon babies head or by having a universe made up of a man sitting down and that's really it they don't really hit as well as they could have done because there not something that's built up whereas in the show they would at the very least have some sort of build up to there weird jokes something that the movie doesn't take the time to do even tho the movie has a longer running time then the average episode of the show does.

Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour and sixteen minuets and forty eight seconds. Which is a really solid running tie for this film to have as this film really does have more then enough there interms of plot to really cover that large amount of running time which sis something that really does help this movie not feel like an extended episode of the show which is something that it really could have dine but yet because of the fact that the makers of this film took full advantage of the fact that this is the movie then they really did go all out even more so with the movies extended running time as well as now we get to find out how Perry and first met and we get to find out how Phineas reacts when he finds out that Perry is actually a secret agent something that wouldn't be able to be done in the show and this is something that does make this movie feel all the more special because of it and while the film really could have used a little bit longer of a running time as that would then allow the makers of the film to fully expand on the alternate universe alot more then what they already do and it also allow for the makers of this film to fully develop the alternate universe versions of all of the films characters as well something which the film really doesn't take the time to do and it would also allow for alot of the films dialog very early on the film to be alot more slower then what it really actually is as well but I really will admit that this film really does gave some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is ana action film that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this veery film was in all honesty really good. With all of this films action scenes being some really good action and having some really creative and good looking action in them as well and while yes we do get alot of CGI animation during this films action scenes it is something that adds to the action as we get to see the scale of the treat that our heroes have to overcome and while that would have been easy to do in 2D it also would have been alot of hard work to animate and it helps that its during this films epic third act fight scene that we get "Robot Riot" which is just such a good song in it's own right and it's one that really does help make that action scene all the more better then what it already is as not only do we have all the inventions that have been featured in the series up until that point coming back into play we also get a really good song playing over it which really does help to make the scene all the more exciting then what it already is with all of this films action scenes being really good in there won right as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this movie is not only that holds up really well almost fifteen years later but it is also a really good representation of the show as well as it gives you everything that you love about the show only now it's in a movie format and while that doesn't always work in this movie when it does work it really does work out really well in this movie in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very film really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 7.5 out of 10 from me.

Tomb Raider: The Legend Of Lara Croft TV Series SPILER FREE TV Series Review

Video game adaptation did have a reputation of being really bad but over recent years we've been seeing quite alot of actually good video game adaptations. While the rend has started to die down with the release of the terrible Borderlands movie that doesn't mean that good video game adaptations are dying down with Netflix being the next one in line to release a video game adaptation and so then join me as I give you my SPOILER FREE review the show that is actually the second ever Tomb Raider animated series with the series in question being called simply just "Tomb Raider: The Legend Of Lara Croft" enjoy.

The plot of this show is when a box is stolen like object is stolen from her it's up to Lara Croft to get it back and save the world from the dangers that are within the object before it's far to late. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very show well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very show was in all honesty not that bad as it was a plot line that was a lot better then what it really had any right to be but at the same time this is a plot that really isn't as focused as it rally should have been either with the show feeling alot more episodic in nature instead of telling one story all the way through out and while this is understandable as they do have to give us the audience clues as to what's actually going on but at the same time tho the plot of this show really should have been alot more interesting then what it actually is with the plot of this show really trying to hard to be a really dark and edgy plot instead of just being one and that is something that does hold back the plot from being really as good as it really could have been with the plot of this show also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Also starring in this show is Earl Baylon as Jonah Maiava , Richard Armitage as Charles Devereaux , Zoe Boyle as Camilla Roth , Roxana Ortega as Abby Ortiz , Suicide Squad star Karen Fukuhara as Sam Nishimura , Xanthe Huynh as Daji , Jonathan Roumie as Winston , Rachel Rosenbloom as Elvan Kaya , Ben Prendergast as Richard Croft and Mulan star Ming-Na Wen as Eva Tong.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that'd actually featured / presented to us in this very show well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very show was in all honesty not that bad. With the actors that you expect a good performance giving us the kind of performance that you'd really expect to them give but that's also the problem as it's the exact same kind of performance kind of performance that you expect from these actors and when they give you exactly that it makes it feel like that there phoning in their performance and only going half way with everything as the acting in a show like this one really should have been alot better then what it was and while yes alot of this shows actors do indeed give us some really good performances alot more of this shows actors just give us some flat bad , boring and to be frank some really rather uninspired performances as well all of which lower the quality oof the acting even further then what it already was and makes this shows acting appear to be far more worse then what it already is with the best performer in this show being Hayley Atwell as Lara Croft who sounds just right for this shows version of Lara Croft with the acting that's in this very show not really being helped bu the fact that this shows scripts are just so bad as it gives none of this shows actors absolutely nothing to work with interms of what it is that there respective characters personalities are even meant to be in the first place which is something that really does affect the overall quality of the acting that's in this very show.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very show well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very show was in all honesty not that bad for the most part as while the characters do indeed have some really nice looking and some really fluid movements to them the animation that's in this very show can also look cheap looking as well as the show frequently tries to hide characters mouths when there talking and will do other such tricks to make it appear as if there's more going on with the animation then what there's actually happening all of which makes the show appear more cheap looking then what it actually is which is something that really shouldn't be the case as this is a show that isn't being independently made as it's being made by Legendary Pictures for Netflix and as a result of that is the fact that they really shouldn't be cutting as much corners as they cut in this show and while it would be understandable if they were cutting corners because they had some big animated set piece to get to in a later episode that simply isn't even close to being the case when it comes to this show but to be tho this show does have some really nice looking CGI and some really nice looking backgrounds to it tho but that's really all this show has going for it animation wise.

As with alot of things it seems these days this show did also spawn some very minor controversy with the deign of it's main character. As for some strange reason the makers of this show chose not to use the classic design for Lara Croft as that's the design that has constantly proven to not only sell well as has been proven not only by the release of the classic trilogy remasters but also but also due to all of the figures featuring this design for the character selling more better then the more recent design for her and yet for some strange reason the makers of this show chose to use a design that's a mixture of the original classic design and the more recent 2013 design which just makes the character look ugly as it doesn't really fit the character at all and it makes her look more like a man then it does a woman and because of that is the fact that her design is very unappealing to look at this is despite the fact that the character does have a good voice to her and while the voice does match up with the design the actual look for the character is one that won't please alot of die hard fans of the games nor will it please alot of people that like animation for that matter but it is a design that could very easily please people who perhaps don't play the games all that much and perhaps only have a passing interest in the world of animation but that's really it.

This show really does continue a shocking trend of producing bad to OK video game adaptations something which we all thought was dead and buried. As this show doesn't really feel like a Tomb Raider show as instead it feels like a show that was made for the modern audience in mind and not the people that actually play the games and that actually know the characters inside and out ad while that can be good as it does allow for a fresh perspective here because of iconic the Lara Croft character is it really does show you that this show should have been made not only by the die hard fans of the games but for those people as those are the ones that are going to be playing the games when they come out on day one and yet because they don't we get alot of badly written characters with all of the characters having alot of really unnecessary drama and in the case of Lara Croft herself acting so far out of character even for her 2013 self that she really does feel like a new character and while her character isn't as bad as what they did with Velma in that show as at least Lara Croft is somewhat likeable it still doesn't excuse the fact that she doesn't act in character as Lara Croft is someone who rebels against what her father wants her to do and what society wants her to do and because of that she because an adrenaline junkie and is willing to do these dangerous things not because she has to but because she wants to and that also means that she raids tombs for the fun of it and very little of that is present in the character in this show.

To give this show at least some form of credit it is better then the terrible Borderlands movie as at least this show does try to get some aspects of the games down perfectly. Where as it was the opposite that was true for the Borderlands movie that was just a lame tame terrible movie , here with this show there's an effort to bring the games to the small screen sadly the games that there trying to bring to the small screen isn't the original games it's the games from the 2013 series onwards and as a result of that is the fact that thee is a lot of focus on Lara's relationship with her father and not enough development on the side characters with the side characters being even worse written then what Lara herself is as none of this shows side characters have anything that's all that memorable about there character and really serve no purpose to the plot of these batch of episodes and really are just there so that Lara can have someone to talk to and not because of the fact that they serve any meaningful purpose and if the the trade off is if it means that she doesn't get to talk t alot of characters but the plot is more focused then i'd rather have that then have a character that talks to others alot but because of that the plot feels alot less focused because of the fact that the show has to deal with one of the side characters subplots and not the main plot as the subplot could have been held off where as the show is only eight episodes long and there for the main plot of show should have gotten more of focus.

Now then while I cannot for the absolutely life of me remember whatever this shows grand total running tome even was I do know that this show has / had an exact grand total running tome of roughly two hours and thirty minuets. With this show being eight episodes long which it really didn't need to be that long at all as the show really doesn't have enough there interms of plot to really cover that large amount of episodes as at best the show has the right amount of plot for six or seven episodes at the maximum and that's really it and as a result of that is the fact that the eighth and final episode not only feels like a pointless prologue scene but it also feels like a setup for the next batch of episodes of nothing that they discuss in that episode came into play in the earlier episodes and has no bearing on either the main plot or the subplot either which makes that episode feel pointless and while it doesn't drag down the season as a whole it is something that really should have been thought off as those first fifteen minuets from episode 8 could have been tacked onto the end of episode 7 and given that episode 1 has a longer running time then the rest of the show it wouldn't seem out of place as such it really would have made for episode 7 to be that little bit longer then the rest of this shows first batch of episodes really was but I really will admit that this show really does ave some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is an action show that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very show well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very show was in all honesty not that bad. As there are some really good looking action scenes in this whole show and while the animation really isn't shown off all that well during the episodes action like you'd expect to be the case it doesn't stop the fact that the shows action does at times get to be really exciting and really fun to watch which at the end of the day is something that you'd want to be the case in a Tomb Raider but none of that means anything f you don't care for the characters and sadly the show doesn't make you care for the characters and as a result of that is the fact that even tho we do get some really good action that is more then satisfactory it doesn't change the fact that when something dangerous does indeed happen to our hero character it doesn't mean anything because we the audience haven't been given a reason to really care for these characters outside of the fact that there the heroes and that's really it and that's not something that works despite the fact that the shows action is really exciting and really fun to fun to watch with all of this shows eight episodes having at least one action scene which is really good to watch in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall these first batch of episodes aren't that bad but they do also have their faults as well and as a result of that is the fact that we get a show that really will only please the more casual fans of this franchise but won't please the die hard fans of this franchise when it's the die hard fans that should be pleased with this show in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very show in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very show really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 5.5 out of 10 from me.

The Sarah Jane Adventures: Death Of The Doctor Review

When talking about Doctor Who as a whole it's very easy to forget that the show is more then just it's parent show. As such I thought it was about right to take a look back at an episode from what was a really truly beloved spin off series as it's something that doesn't really doesn't get as much attention as it really should do and so then join me as I review thee episode that sees not one but two characters crossover into this show with the episode in question being called simply just "Death Of The Doctor" enjoy.

The plot of this episode is when she is told that The Doctor is dead Sarah Jane and her friends go to his funeral at a secret UNIT base only to discover something far more sinister is going on. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty really good and was alot better then what it really had to be for something that was quite literally a kids TV show as it's something that not only blends the drama of the first Russel T. Davies era of Doctor Who with the more outlandish nature of the Steven Moffat era of the show and yet it also remembers to be a fun filled plot as well and that is something that really does work well enough for this episode as well as the plot of the episode also serving as a great way to catch up with former companion Jo Grant in a way that feels true to her characters as well which was something that the makers of this show really didn't have to do but the very fact that they did proves that the creative team behind this show really were fans of Doctor Who with the plot of this episode also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this episode is Elisabeth Sladen as Sarah Jane Smith , Tommy Knight as Luke Smith and Daniel Anthony as Clyde Langer. Also starring in this very episode is Anjli Mohindra as Rani Chandra , Alexander Armstrong as the voice of Mr Smith , Katy Manning as Jo Jones , Finn Jones as Santiago Jones , Laila Rouass as Colonel Karim , Ace Bhatti as Haresh Chandra , Jimmy Vee as Groske , David Bradley as the voice of The Shansheeth , Phillip Hurd-Wood as the voice of The Groske , Jon Glover as the voice of The Shansheeth and House Of The Dragon star Matt Smith as The Doctor.

Now the interms of what I personally thought / felt about thew actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very was in all honesty. Which is something that really does make alot of sense as alot as this episodes actors are some really good actors in there own right with all of them turning in some really good performances as well all of which are things that they really didn't have to do on a kids TV show as they could have just phoned in their performances and no one would have cared all that much but the fact that they all went the extra mile to turn in a bunch of really good performances really does show you just how good alot of these actors are with the best actors in the whole episode being either Elisabeth Sladen as Sarah Jane Smith or Matt Smith as The Doctor both of whom are just a joy to watch and see them bounce off of each other just makes for some entertaining scenes with the same thing also being true for Katy Manning as Jo Jones as well who simply just slips right back into her character as if she had just finished playing her a few days ago with the acting that's in this very episode really being helped by the fact that this episodes script was just so good that all this episodes actors really have to do is just say the lines as they are written and a good performance will come out of them naturally which is something that rally help to raise the over all quality of the acting that's in this very episode.

Doing the CGI for this episode is BBC Wales VFX and the legends and the greats that are currently over at Real SFX. Now then  interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual CGU that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty i inn all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad for a kids TV show as those don't typically have that good CGI effects in them and while yes some of the CGI in this episode does look really cheap like the rocket that's in this UNIT base really doesn't look as good as it could have done that's more due to the fact that these kinds of shows don't typically have large budgets and thus the effects team would have gotten a big budget either and yet when we do get a really good looking like the outside of the UNIT base for example it is something that really does stand out as a good looking effect and it becomes clear that the effects team put alot more effort into making that effect look good then they did the rocket ship even tho both effects only get one scene and are only on screen for a matter of second with neither of them really adding to the actual plot of the episode which does make you wonder why more care and attention was put into one effect and not into the other effect when it really could have been fifty fifty.

This episode does mark the final time that Sarah Jane Smith interacts with another Doctor with her interactions with this version of The Doctor and her really bouncing off of each other really well. With this episode also marking the only time that The Doctor was written by a former Doctor Who showrunner in this case it was Russel T. Davies who actually does a really good capturing the essence of just how his version of the character really is with him still being the playful young man that he puts on as front but then somebody will utter a line and then you get a hint of just how dark and how disturbed this characters past really is and while we don't get any of Amy and Rory which is a shame as it would have been fun to see how Russel T. Davies writes there characters it is still interesting to see hi write the eleventh doctor as it gives you another fresh look at the character that was and still is very highly popular incarnation of the character and having him  meet up with Sarah Jane Smith does almost feel like a right of passage in a way as it comes across as him getting the seal of approval to truly be The Doctor even tho Matt Smith had been playing the character for least a year or two at this point in time it's just a shame that due to this show two episode per story format that he really does get a whole lot of screen time in both episodes and thus his role in the episode feels alot more like an extended cameo and not a main character in the plot like how it really should have been treated.

Also returning in this episode for the first time is Katy Manning as Jo Jones who hasn't been seen on screen since 1973's The Green Death. With her character actually brining up a very good point in the episode that being the fact that The Doctor never took the time to visit or even call her as he did go out of his way to visit Sarah Jane not just once but twice and while yes they do give an in-universe reasoning for that but at the same time tho it really does make you what all of the other companions have been going through mentally not really knowing when or even if they'll ever see The Doctor and while yes we do get to find out what happend to some of them it still doesn't change the fact that when they leave the TARDIS there changed for good by what they've been through and the one that changed them just goes and flies away and never ever sees them or calls them ever again and while The Doctor does say in this episode that he doesn't like to look back because it hurts him to much it still hurts his companions and keeps them from moving forward in there lives as they don't have the person who is basically there teacher help to talk to with The Doctor's talk with Jo being one of the most emotional scenes in the episode and it;s one tat really does work so well as it really does make you feel for those companions that hadn't until that point in time been seen again as they really do come across as being forgotten about by The Doctor.

This episodes villains The Shansheeth are some decent villains and they do have a really good design look them. However tho due to the fact that there literally just men in stilts they really can't do all that much and as a result of that is the fact that alot oof there movements come across as being really stilted this is of no fault of those playing the villains on the set as they have to work with what there given rather it's a fault of possibly the costume or creature team as while the villains do indeed look good they can't do all that much n those costumes and that is something that does limit what can actually be shown on screen but the characters themselves do come across as being really creepy with them wanting the key to the TARDIS so that they can travel across time and space causing mayhem and destruction wherever they go which is a good way to introduce The Doctor in a way that feels natural and it is something that makes the characters come across as being threatening as they are perfectly willing to kill people to get what they want something that as far as memory recalls is not something that they typically did on this show and yet in this episode it is something that works really well as The Doctor is someone who always has death and destruction around him constantly and as a result of that is the fact that it does make sense that this episodes villains would indeed try to not only kill him but also Sarah Jane Smith herself and Jo Jones as well as those are the two people that have know The Doctor the longest and serve as the perfect pressure points for them to get what they want which is something that also makes them look really smart as well.

Now then while I cannot for the absolutely life of me remember what this episode grand total running time even was I do know that this episode has / had an exact grand total running time of roughly fifty minuets. With this episode being two episodes long and each episode lasting around twenty five minuets with this structure and running time being fine for other episodes but for this episode because of the fact that this episode really does have more then enough there interms of plot to cover a much more longer episode count then the show really should have broken that structure for this episode as this episode is for all intents and purposes this episode is a special episode and there for could have been given at the very least three or maybe even four episodes long as this is something that would allow the story to be as epic as it;s trying to be as the whole thing about the story is them trying to kill of The Doctor and that's not something that should have been treated with a two episode episode count and yet by giving it those extra few episodes it would allow for characters like Santiago to be alot more developed then what they actually are and it wold allow for more scenes with the characters just sitting around and talking as that would then allow the story to breathe and to move at a more natural pace something that it really can't do with it's current episode count as every single scene has to be about moving the plot along and because of that the scenes that really should be emotional really can't land and then scenes that should be joyous don't work as neither of them are really given the time that they need really to fully breath but I really will admit that this episode really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is an action show that really does means that I have to actually talk about the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty really good. As while this episode doesn't really have that much action in it which is something that really does make alot of sense as this is after all a kids show what little action we do get at the end of the second does work really well with it being genuinely really exciting and thrilling with The Doctor and the kids and trying to work out a way to get into a room that has Jo and Sarah chained up and mere moments from the death and seeing them still being able to help each other and give each other advice on how to get out of this situation was really interesting and was really entertaining to se in the episode with how this version of the doctor tries to get his friends free and out of danger really does feel like it's true to this version of the character with him even offering the original TARDIS key just to get his friends out of danger and while the action really does indeed suffer due to the fact the The Shansheeth really can't do all that much due to there costumes when we do see them attacking The Doctor at the end of part 1 it is something that does really well and it sets up as being a big threat to all of heroes as they've brought the universes greatest hero to his knees pretty much really without even breaking a sweat but this episode really could have done with a more action just to help to really sell the fact that this episode really is just an epic story in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this was a really good episode and it's one that really does remind you that Russel T. Davies really can write something that's really good something that he might have forgotten how to do thanks to the last series of Doctor Who with this episode being an episode that's really fun as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good ans as ell as all of the bad things that are in this very episode in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very episode really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 7 out of 10 from me.

Doctor Who: Doctor Who And The Silurians Review

It's been quite along time since I last covered an episode of Doctor Who and yet it's been even longer since I last covered an episode of classic Doctor Who. Well I thought that i'd hit two birds with one stone by reviewing an episode of classic Doctor Who and since season 7 of the show is one that I for some strange reason always get put off watching due to there long episode numbers it only made sense that one of those episodes by the basis for this review and so then join me as I review the episode that has a shockingly long title with the episode in question being called simply just "Doctor Who And The Silurians" enjoy.

The plot of this episode is when race of reptilians that once ruled the Earth before humans suddenly start to awaken it's up to The Doctor to try and broker a piece treaty between them and the humans before they start invading the Earth.Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty really good as it gives us the audience to see what this new Doctor is like when he's fully recovered from his regeneration as well as giving as a good idea of just what kinds of stories this new era of Doctor Who is willing to tell and it does so with a plot that is at times utterly thrilling and yet when it needs to be utterly thought provoking as well something that is currently missing from this new era of the show and all of this is done in what can only be described as a very smartly written plot that has plenty of twists and turns along the way all of which make this episodes plot a really good story as it's one where you don't quite know what direction that it's going to be taking with the plot of this episode also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Also starring in this episode is Fulton Mackay as Dr. Quinn , Peter Miles as Dr. Lawrence , Ian Cunningham as Dr. Meredith , Norman Jones as Major Baker , Thomasine Heiner as Miss Dawson , Ian Talbot as Travis , Geoffrey Palmer as Masters , John Newman as Spencer , Bill Matthews as Davis , Roy Branigan as Roberts , Gordon Richardson as Squire , Nancie Jackson as Doris Squire , Brendan Barry as A Hospital Doctor , Paul Darrow as Captain Hawkins , Richard Steele as Sergeant Hart , Alan Mason as Corporal Nutting , Harry Swift as Private Robins , Derek Pollitt as Private Wright , Dave Carter as Old Silurian , Nigel Johns as Morka and Peter Halliday as the voices of the Silurians.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this vey episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty really good. Which is something that's to be expected not only from classic Doctor Who but from Doctor Who as a whole as the acting that's in this very show has always been really good with this episodes acting really being helped by the fact that not only is are this episodes characters really well cast but there all played by a bunch of really good actors in there right and as a result of that s the fact it of course makes sense that all of the acting that's in this very episode was really good and while yes there some dodgy performances that are to be found in this episode the overall quality of this episodes acting is really good with all of this episodes actors turning in some really good performances in there own right with the acting that's in this very episode really being helped by the fact that this episodes script is just so good that all this episodes actors really have to do is say the lines as thy are written and a good performance will come out of them naturally which is something that really does help to raise the quality of the acting that's in this very episode.

This is episode that does see The Doctor give Bessie it's name as while she was indeed featured in the previous episode she wasn't The Doctor's car. While this is a small something it is also something that's vastly important for this early part of the Jon Pertwee era of the show as The Doctor couldn't use his TARDIS and as such would need a mode of transportation and as a result of that is the fact that giving him a car that does look a little bit alien is something that's perfectly in character for him as it's a practical way of him getting from location to location without explaining how he suddenly knows how to use his TARDIS and while the name that he gives the car still doesn't make sense the very fact that he has one at all let alone one with his personalized number plate does infact go to show that makers of this show really did know what kind of show they were making as they thought of every single possible question that us fans would most likely have had when this episode was first being broadcast and as a result of that is the fact that it makes the show out to be far more smarter then what it really was in the first place but at the same time tho the car itself doesn't look to be all that good as while it is a car that's in character for The Doctor it's not something that works well enough for this more action heavy version of The Doctor though as it's something that can very easily be seen being driven by the eleventh doctor due to how alien the car looks.

This episode is also the very first episode to introduce the Silurians into the world of Doctor Who with them here being presented as creatures who from afar could be seen as being like dinosaurs. With there designs looking really good for the time that this episode was being made but at the same time tho you can quite clearly see where the face mask ends and the body begins as you can see the lap which does make the entire costume look cheap which granted is no fault for the Doctor Who production team as the show has never had a huge budget and as a result of that is the fact that some things in classic Doctor Who do come across as looking cheap but at the same time tho given that this is new Doctor Who monster there really should have been more money spent on there costumes to make them look as impressive as they could have done for there debut outing with the cheap look also coming into effect when you take account that at times there mouths can barely move which does make it weird when you can hear fully formed sentences coming out of their mouths and yet the fact that there barely able to open their mouths does make you really wonder how they managed to get those sentences out and it also makes the costumes look really cheap looking as well but from afar the costumes do look really good tho.

For some strange reason the makers of this episode chose not to give Liz Shaw that much to actually do as she spends alot of her time just stuck in one office talking to the same group of people over and over again. With her only occasionally going into the caves and going out onto location but those scenes never last all that long with her spending more time in an office talking to the same two people and occasionally talking to another persona and that's really it and it makes you wonder if the writer of this episode Malcolm Hulke really knew what do with her character and only included because he had to and not because she played any role in the plot of the episode which is something that shouldn't be the case as he is a really good writer and has written lots of good Doctor Who episodes many of whom have had female characters that actually play a role in the episode that there in and yet here he just doesn't put that same amount of attention into giving the Doctors new companion anything meaningful to do in the plot and heck you really could have cut her character out of the story all together and nothing that's actually important to the plot would be lost as that's how little she adds to the actual plot of the episode with this being made worse when you also take into account that we don;t even get to find out all that much about her character which was fine for the previous episode as that episode was all about establishing the new status quo and about establishing Jon Pertwee as The Doctor but here in this episode they really could have taken the time to give Liz Shaw something meaningful to do and to let us the audience know anything about her character.

What made this episode all the more interesting is that while it does have a stereotypical bad guy in Morka both the Silurians and the humans aren't the bad guys. As deep down there both just scared of each other and yet when they both do indeed try to get along with each other they they actually do get along with each other it's only when Morka starts to become more egotistical and more fascist that things start to go sideways as he believes that since the Silurians where on Earth first that the planet is there's and there's alone and isn't willing to except the fact that other people live there now and because he does actively try and start a war with us and it's because of his action that the humans become more scared then what they already where and start to see all of the Silurians as the bad guys and because of that they start to commit acts of violence against the Silurians something that The Doctor is firmly against something that we see in the very last scene of the episode where he openly says that what the Brigadier did was commit murder against an entire race of people many of whom did nothing against them with only Morka being the one that actively did things against the human and that is something that does beg the question of who was really in the right as the Silurians was just trying to take back what they believed to be there home and the humans where just trying to defend there home with both races being both right and wrong at the exact same time.

Now then while I cannot for the absolutely life of remember whatever this episodes grand total running time even was I do know that the episode has / had an exact grand total running of roughly two hours and thirty minuets. With the episode being seven episodes long and each episode being around twenty five minuets long with seven episodes being a little it on the long side of things for this story as this story really doesn't have alot there to really cover that amount of episodes as you really could have told this entire story in about six or five episodes long and yet because of the fact that they had that extra episodes that does also mean that that we get scenes in this story that do feel like padding almost as if they had a certain amount of episodes to fulfill which meant giving this episode an extra episode when it really doesn't need and yet because of that extra episode the makers of this episode really don't take the time that episode like The Daleks which had a very similar episode count did and that's take the the time to delve into there characters which given that this story is seven episodes is something that really could have done and they could have done so and not have it effect the main plot of the episode and yet they don't do any of that and because of that that extra episode feels like it was wasted as the makers of the episode don't do anything new or interesting with that extra episode at all but I really will admit that this very episode really have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is an action show that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then  in all honesty I in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought /felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad. Taking into account that Doctor Who around this time had a really small budget and as a result of that is the fact that they really couldn't do all that much action wise and yet little action action we did get in this episode did look good apart from the fact that it's in this episodes action that highlights another problem with the Silurians suits as it becomes clear as day that they can't do all that much with the Silurians from an action point of view and yet it's also during this episodes action that The Doctor realises that when the humans are scared then they will be willing kill of an entire race just because of the fact that there's a small chance that more of them might be evil and that is something that does highlight the fact that The Doctor loves all of life not just human life but alien life as well and while yes he does get involved with the action near the end it doesn't change the fact that he still cares about protecting innocent people and both the humans and the Silurians were innocent people and all of that does come to the forefront in a really beautiful action packed scene in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this was a really decent episode but it's one that could have been alot better if it was just an episode or two shorter as this episode really isn't epic enough or really big enough to really warrant being seven episodes but what we got from this episode was really good and helped to make this a really solid episode in the ever changing history of this really truly classic and iconic show in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very episode in this very review and such that really does mean that this very episode really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 7.5 out of 10 from me.

My First Impressions Of The The Franchise TV Series

Superhero movies are a vey big thing in Hollywood right now with there being several of them being released every single year. As such it really was only about time before a TV got made detailing how one of them does infact get made well HBO have just released the first episode of a TV show that really does just that and so then join as I give you my first impressions of the show that takes behind the scenes of a fictional superhero movie with the show in question being called simply just "The Franchise" enjoy.

The plot of this TV is that a bunch of filmmakers have to make a superhero all the while trying to please the studio heads and the films director both of whom want different things from the movie. Now then  interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty really good with the plot of the episode giving us the audience a partially good luck of just what life is like day to day whilst making the stereotypical superhero movie be it from dealing with actors or with people who work for the studio with it being helped that while the plot of this episode does indeed revolve around trying to keep one member of the studio from trying to see just how badly there messing up this movie in one form or another the plot of the episode does go into great detail into showing us just what it's like when your making a movie and while the plot of this episode doesn't go into that much detail about making a movie the little hints of it that we do get an interesting to see to say the least with the plot of this episode also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this episode is Himesh Patel as Daniel , Aya Cash as Anita and The Royle Family and Spaced co-writer , co-creator and star Jessica Hynes as Steph. Also starring in this episode is  Billy Magnussen as Adam , Ghosts UK and Saltburn star Lolly Adefope as Dag , Darren Goldstein as Pat , Isaac Powell as Bryson , Richard E. Grant as Peter , Daniel Brühl as Eric and Alex Gaumond as Justin Barrett.

Now then interms of what I personally thought  felt about the actual acting thats actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then  in al, honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in his very episode was in all honesty really good. Which is something that does make alot sense given that this episode is being directed by Sam Mendes as he really does know how to get a really good performance out of his actors but it's also due to the fact that alot if not not all of this episodes actors really do know how to act and really can turn in some really good performances in anything that there in with the same thing that's also true for this episode as well and that is something that should continue in the rest of the series as well with it being clear as day that alot of not all of this episodes actors do indeed have some really good chemistry with each other which is something that really can't teach with the acing that;'s in this episode also being helped by the fact that the script for this episode is just so good thar all this episodes actors really have to do is just the say lines as they are they are written and a really good performance will come out of them naturally which is something that really does effect the overall quality of the of the acting that's in this very episode.

Something that this episode really didn't have to have very early on it's one is the fact that nearly all of it's characters are in someway shape or form really likable characters. With all of these characters having moments where they display just how likable that they are even tho the reasons for them being pretty unlikable are also pretty understandable as well and that is something that the makers of this show really didn't have to do as they very easily could have set up the basic personalities for the characters in this episode and that's really it but no they make them all likable and that is something that is going to help out this show in the long run as plenty of shows go out of there where to make the characters that are meant to be the heroes of the show come across as being unlikable with the best example of that being The Acolyte where all of those characters both hero and villain are really unlikable where as here even tho you can fully understand where the characters are coming from when they act unlikable those characters also coming across as being really likable because of the fact that there reasons for acting unlikable is really understandable with the characters in this show also being really well written as well with all of them being close to being fully formed three dimensional characters something which really isn't needed this early on in the shows run and yet here it really is present in the shows first ever episode.

While his episode understandably doesn't go into that much detail about a superhero movie is made as this is only the first episode. It does go into detail about studios interfering with the directors vision of a movie something that we have seen tank movies in the past and forced the creators of the movie to change what they originally had planned which is something that does more often then not result in a bunch of a really bad movies like for example Madame Web that while we don't know for sure how bad the studio interference was on that movie it is painfully obvious that Sony did interfere with the movie and while it would be impossible to say if the movie would have been better if the studio didn't interfere with the movie what we know for a fact is that the finished movie is a really bad movie not only because of the studio inference but other reasons as well and this is something that this episode does very lightly touch upon and that was interesting to see play out in this episode and it's something that could make for an interesting plot line over the course of this shows first season as well as there are so many ways that you can take that plot line and yet still keep it relevant to what's currently going on in Hollywood and heck even the studio inferring in movies isn't something that's just relevant to comic book movies as it relevant to alot of other movies as well.

As alot of movies are filmed on location it would have been nice if this episode at least showed us some location filming and what goes on when a film is filming out on location as well. As instead all we get is the same kind of basic set u that we get whenever a TV show does show us the filming of a movie in that it's all done in a studio which granted alot of superhero movies these days are indeed filmed in a studio they also do a fair amount of on location filming as well and ti would have been interesting to see how the crew deal with filming on location compared to that of filming in a studio as that is something that you can see very easily just by loading up any behind the scenes feature but to this episodes credit it does keep the in studio interesting by showing us things that wouldn't normally get seen like showing us the fact that alot of superhero movies are very sadly today film on a blue or even green screen or even just by having someone from the studio come on down to check in on the production which that idea in of it's self is a very good idea as studios do more often then not send down people to check on there productions and to make sure that the movie that there making is the kind of movie that the studio would even want to associated with in the first place with the studio rep in question being presented as someone who is smarter then what he looks and is always thinking of not only the bottom line but is also thinking one or more steps ahead of everybody else that's really involved with the actual production itself.

One of the things that does let this episode down quite a bit is the fact that we don't a good sense of who these characters are as people. Which is understandable as this is only the first episode but it also doesn't give us that much of a reason to want to see them succeed either out side of the fact that the ones making the film are the good guys and the studio rep is quite easily the bad guy and that's really it and while it is understandable as this is only the first episode there still should have been more effort into creating these characters and into giving us the audience a good sense of who these characters were before they started working on this film and while we do get a hint of who one of the characters in a scene that does pay off by the end of the episode it's only one character in an episode with dozens of characters and as a result of that is the fact that all of the characters really should have had a little bit more effort put into who they are as people even if it's just a single line of dialog it still would have been better then what we get in this episode but at the same time tho there is always a chance that we get a stronger sense of who these characters are as people in the shows other episodes as well which is something that would make sense as it's not something that needed to be in this episode but it's also something that would have been nice if they did do it in this very episode tho.

Now then this episode has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly twenty eight minuets and sixteen seconds. Which is a pretty solid running time for this episode to have as the episode really does have the right amount of plot there to really cover that amount of running tie but at the same time tho this episode could have been all the more better if it was an hour long as that would then allow for the episode to go deeper into characters and it would also allow for the episode to really show off alot more that really does go into a making a film let alone a superhero film and yet by having a smaller running time whilst yes it does allow for the plot of the episode to be alot more focused then what it would have been if the episode was longer it also means that the episode can't be as good as it really could have been but at the same time tho is if the episode did have a longer running time then alot of the scenes that do give the characters more depth and that does indeed show off more of a how superhero movie is made it would then seem like filler as they really wouldn't add anything to the overall plot of the episode which in turn would make those scenes feel alot more like padding which is something that quite clearly isn't the case with the episodes current running time but I really admit that this episode really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is a comedy show that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty really good. With the episode having alot of really funny jokes in it al of which feel like there very character as they come across as the types of jokes that these characters would indeed say and that is something that really does make them all the more funnier like the the fact that the ex-wife of Daniel just wants to talk about there divorce and doesn't really care that he's working on a superhero movie that she says for a lack of a better word and to keep this blog family friendly are for a very niche audience which is a funny joke as alot of us no people or knew people that also felt that exact same way as does the fact that the director of the film does alot of swearing before coming face to face with someone who is basically his boss something that alot of us would have most likely have done as well and while yes alot of the jokes don't really land as hard as they could have the ones that do land not only land but also land hard as well and it is something that makes you wonder if the jokes in the rest of the series re going to be as good as the jokes that are in this very episode in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall while this show so far at least isn't as good as say The Penguin is it is still a really good show that really does have all of the potential there to be a really funny show and last for a good few years as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now the i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in his very episode in this very post and since this is only my first impressions I won't be giving this show a rating however if this post does decently well and if you guys want me to check out another episode then I will do it and that post would then be a review of that episode and that episode only and not a review of the show as a whole.

Com and Google Images. With my personally preferred website to use to get the images from this very episode that I used in this very review being the really great Google Images really simply just due to the fact that really alot of if not really all of the images that are all really from this very episode with alot of them being better quality then what'd think of and all of the images are really of course up and really on Google Images are also really all fairly high in quality and as well as them all being really fairly freaking high in definition.
