Toy Story Of Terror Special Review

The spooky season is now here and alot of animation studios are putting out Halloween specials this year. With at least one of those specials being based off of the hugely popular and successful Family Guy however they weren't the first ones to do a Halloween special based off of a really hugely popular and still very successful franchise and heck even the one that i'm going to review for you all today might not even be the first either but it was the one that proved that the Toy Story characters really can work in a TV special format and so then join me as I review the special that sees the Toy Story gang appear in their first ever special with the special in question being called simply just "Toy Story Of Terror" enjoy.

The plot of this special is when Bonnie and her mom are forced to stay at a roadside motel for the night alot of Bonnie's toys end up disappearing and it's up to Jessie to find them all before it's far to late. Now then a for what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that;s actually featured / presented to us in this very special well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very special was in all honesty not that bad as the plot of this special did a good job of capturing the horror vibe in it's storytelling and yet doing so in a way that's very kid friendly as well and yet at the exact same time whilst this plot isn't as grand as it really could have been given the fact that it is a TV special and those do typically have really grand plots given that it's a halloween special told through the eyes of the characters from Toy Story this is really the kind of plot that you'd expect from this franchise and to this episodes credit it does do the most that it could have possibly done with with it's plot as it does enough to make it feel like a worthy plot line for a TV special and not something that you'd expect to see from an episode of a Toy Story TV show with the plot of this special also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this special is Joan Cusack as Jessie , Tom Hanks as Woody and Tim Allen as Buzz Lightyear. Also starring in this special is Timothy Dalton as Pricklepants , Wallace Shawn as Rex , Kristen Schaal as Trixie , Don Rickles as Potato Head , Emily Hahn as Bonnie , Lori Alan as Bonnie's ,  Mom , Carl Weathers as Combat Carl and Combat Carl Jr. , Stephen Tobolowsky as Ronald , Kate McKinnon as PEZ Cat , Peter Sohn as Transitron , Dawnn Lewis as The Delivery Lady , Jason Topolski as The Vampire and The Tow Truck Guy , Ken Marino as Pocketeer , Christian Roman as Old Timer , Laraine Newman as Betsy ,  this specials writer and director Angus MacLane as Officer Wilson , Josh Cooley as Officer Phillips , voice acting legend Dee Bradley Baker as Mr. Jones and voice acting legend Tara Strong as Ron's Computer.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very special well then in all honesty I in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to 8us in his very special was in all honesty really good. Which is something that for the most part really isn't all that surprising as alot of this specials actors are reprising their roles from the previous movies and would therefor know how best to portray there characters but on the flip side of that is the fact that we do get some really bad acting as well with people like Emily Hahn as Bonnie , Stephen Tobolowsky as Ronald and Kate McKinnon as PEZ Cat turning some really middle of the road performances and while Emily does have the excuse that she's just a kid and so to expect a good performance from her would be completely unreasonable the same thing cannot be said for Stephen Tobolowsky and Kate McKinnon with alot of this specials bad acting coming from the fact that this specials writer and director Angus Maclane really doesn't know how to direct his actors and get a good performance out of them something which he also proved when he directed the Toy Story spin off film Lightyear with the acting that's in this special really being helped being helped by the fact that the script for this special is just so good that all this specials actors really have to do is just the lines as they are written and a good performance will come out of them naturally which is something that really does help to raise the overall quality of the acting that's in this very special.

Doing the animation for this special is the legenda and the greats that are currently over at Pixar Animation Studios.  Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very special well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / gelt that the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very special was in all honesty really good which is something that's to be expected as this is still a PIXAR production with the animation in this special in all honesty being alot better then what it really had any right to be as this specials animation is close to being feature film worthy as it's just that good with all of the characters having some really nice and some really fluid movements to them and the backgrounds being really detailed with there being alot of details in the backgrounds that really didn't need to be there and yet the fact that it was there in the first place does go to show you that the makers of this special really did care about this special as they wouldn't put this amount of effort into something that was just a cash grab and even the specials animation perfectly really captures the gothic atmosphere of horror films like Dracula and Frankenstein which is something that really does add to the overall horror vibe and tone of this special.

This special does do something that I really wasn't expecting it to do and that's not only have Jessie be the main character of the special but also focus on her fear of being left alone in a box. This is such a good because out of all the characters Jessie is the one that has a genuine fear and to see that fear not only be explored in this special but also play apart in the plot of the special as well was indeed a really good  idea but at the same time it is something that is painfully obvious as once they have the toys rescue Jessie at the start of the special it's obvious that that's something that she's going to have to overcome at the end of the special and while her fear was something that was set up thanks to the events of Toy Story 2 it's not really something that we saw in all of the other Toy Story media inbetween that film and Toy Story 3 and as a result of that is the fact that us the audience would have mist likely have forgotten that she's afraid of being left alone in a box for any period of time but at the same time the fact that she's getting any focus whatsoever is a good idea and it's a good way to use these holiday themed specials as when it comes to the movies she's very rarely if ever the main character and more often then not really gets lost in the shuffle where as here she can take centre stage and because of that the special does do a really good of handling not only her character but also her fear on being left alone in a box as well.

As a halloween special this special is as kid friendly as it gets which is something that really does make alot of sense given not only what companies are making this special but also which franchise this special is from. With the special pretty much being a parody of Psycho of all things as this special has alot of the things that was done in that film even down to the creepy motel and the motel owner as well yet out of all of films to do a very loose parody of Psycho isn't really one of them as even that film doesn't really lend it self to being parodied in a kid friendly way and was most likely only chosen because of how well it is but at the same time tho it would have nice if the makers of this special chose to parody the horror genre as a whole as then they could have gotten away with doing alot more with other different horror films as by limiting yourself to just one film then your limiting the amount of things that you can make fun of as well which is something that does effect the specials horror aspect as well as if we wanted to see a bad version of the classic film Psycho then we'd just watch the remake of Psycho and yet with these characters the makers of the film could have done alot more with more different aspects of the horror as while the film does have this kind of gothic nature to it that's similar to Frankenstein the special doesn't really play with alot of the tropes that we've come to expect and some in cases even love from the horror genre. 

This special is also the one that gives Combat Carl not only a voice but also a minor role in the special as well. With him basically serving as a bad trainer for Jessie which is a funny idea and it does lead to painfully funny joke in the special as well but at the same time given this specials running time they really don't take the time that they really would have needed to fully set up his character either him basically coming across as being a G.I. Joes action figured crossed with Dutch from the first Predator movie which is something that does indeed work as he spends alot of the specials running running and hiding from the lizard that actually captures the toys for the motel manager but at the same time it would have been fun to see what he was like before he met Jessie as that is something could have led to not only some really emotional moments in the special but it also could have led to some really funny moments as well with the emotional moments working all the more because of the fact that we the audience know that at best his owner would have replaced him with another Combat Carl toy or at worst his owner would have forgotten all about him and those are things that would have worked for his character as we can tell from the really brief times that he does indeed talk about Billy his owner that he really does care about him and while those really are things that could have been including to the special having a running time they are thing that would have been if they really did include them in the special.

Now then this special has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly twenty one minuets and thirty one seconds. Which is a solid running time for this special as the special really does have the right amount of plot there to really cover that amount of running time but at the same time tho the special has alot more there interms of pot to cover a longer running time and if the special did have a slightly longer running time then it could have gone into Jessie's claustrophobia and explain how that makes her feel when she is alone in a box and this is something that would make her choosing to go into a box all alone near the end of special to save Woody all the more heroic as we the audience would have had a much more better understanding of what it is that she's going through and feeling on the inside and while the makers of special couldn't obviously go into that much detail about it because of the fact that it is a kid friendly special it would have been nice if the film did indeed play up it's horror aspect just a little bit more then what it does and while it's understandable why they didn't play up there horror aspect that much given that this is a halloween there really should have been more effort put into creating something that truly scary in the first place and films like Corpse Bride , The Nightmare Before Christmas and Coraline have proven that you can do a kid friendly horror project and still have some really good scares in them but I really will admit that this special really does have some really good pacing in it tho.

So now then as this is a comedy special that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very special and well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very special was in all honesty not that bad. With the special doing a decent enough of job of parodying Psycho with there even being a shower scene but alot of the films actual jokes are not only very few and far between but when they do tell a joke it's very hit and miss with there only being a very few good jokes in this special with the only really funny joke in this special coming when Combat Carl says Jessie remember your training but because he hasn't actually given her any kind of training all she says back to him is what training which is a funny joke and Mr. Potato Head does get a few funny lines in the very limited time that he's on screen but alot of the unfunny moments come from when there having Buzz and Woody act really dumb when thanks to the movies we know for a fact that there actually pretty smart thus alot of there stuff just isn't all that funny as it feels out of character and is there just to make Jessie look good which just really does a disservice to those two characters but when the special does tell a really good joke in this special then it is a really funny joke in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this is a decent special that does indeed shine alight on a character that really doesn't get alot of focus in the films and it is a special that alot of kids can watch and enjoy and not find anything that's to scary but give them just enough bumps in the night to get them somewhat scared as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good ans as s well as all of the bad things that are in this very special in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very special really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 6.5 out of 10 from me.

Velma: This Halloween Needs To Be More Special! SPOILER FILLED Special Review

For some strange reason Warner Bros really does think that we all like this Velma show this is despite all of the negative reviews for the show out there. Well now we have yet another new installment from the show that nobody asked for and that very few people actually like this time in the form of a Halloween special and s then join me as I give you my SPOILER FILLED review of the special that actually is pretty watchable for the most part with the special in question being called simply just "Velma: This Halloween Needs To Be More Special!" enjoy.

The plot of this special is just a few weeks after she died at the end of the second season Velma's friends have finally found the right spell to bring her back to life but on Halloween a new mystery arises when someone starts killing off people dressed in sexy costumes. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that;s actually featured / presented to us in this very special well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very special was in all honesty not that ad but at the same time the plot of this special isn't all that good either as there's nothing about this plot that really requires it to the plot of a special episode of the show as the plot follows the typical formular set up of the show with nothing new about it to make it feel unique and make it stand out from all of the other episodes but with that being said the plot of this special is also a lot better then the typical season of the show and all of that is due to the fact that it does go back the typical Scooby-Doo formular of just having teens solving a mystery and that's that and while yes the plot of this really could have been alot better then what it was it's also the kind of plot that we really should expect from this show as well with the plot of this special also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Also starring in this special is Sam Richardson as Norville Rogers , Constance Wu as Daphne Blake , Sarayu Blue as Diya Dinkley , Nicholas Braun as Geoff Wickles / The Black Knight , Nicole Byer as Blythe Rogers , Gary Cole as Lamont Rogers , Fortune Feimster as Olive , Jennifer Hale as Thorn , Richard Kind as Himself , Jane Lynch as Donna Blake , voice acting and Scooby-Doo legend Frank Welker as William Jones , Russell Peters as Aman Dinkley , Sara Ramirez as Amber , Saweetie as Herself , Debby Ryan as Krista and Wanda Sykes as Linda Blake.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very special well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very special was in all honesty not that bad. Which is something that does make sense as this special actors have been playing there respective characters for time at this point in time and would there for no how best to portray there respective characters but at the same time given who is starring in tis special this specials really acting really could have been alot better as we know from other projects that this special actors really can deliver some truly really great performances and yet when it comes to this special for one reason or another they really can't with the same thing also being true for voice acting legend Frank Welker who really is at best just OK and nothing more then that when it comes to this special with the acting that's in this very special not really being helped by the fact that the script for this special is just so bad as it gives none of this specials actors absolutely nothing to work with interms of what it is that there respective characters personalities are even meant to be in the first place which is something that really does help to lower the overall quality of the acting that's in this very special.

Doing the animation for this special is the legends and the really greats that are currently over at Studio IAM. Now then interms of what I personally thought /felt about the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very special well the in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very special was in all honesty not that bad but at the same time this specials animation wasn't all that good either as while it's on par with the animation from the show the animation in the show isn't all that good and as a result of that is the fact that being compared to the show well never be in this specials favor as the shows animation is really bad and that is something that is still true with this special as everything just looks bland from the backgrounds to the unappealing character designs and even the face that they give Saweetie a really distractingly shiny dress which just takes you out of the special as it's there when it technically wouldn't be given what time of day this special takes place in with the characters themselves not even having fluid movements with the characters movements being really stiff and stilted which all of which combine to make the animation look cheap this is despite the fact that the animation does at times look really good.

SPOILERS START HERE!!!!!!!!!!

As a mystery special this special isn't all that good as the mystery itself isn't all that good as the special doesn't give any clues as to who the killer really is. Since while the special does have a red herring in The Black Knight they reveal that the killer is actually an old lady who appeared in one scene at the start of the episode and that's it which granted is something that older Scooby-Doo shows also did but those shows also gave us the audience enough clues so that we can work it out for ourselfs and yet this is something that this special doesn't do as it doesn't give us any clues whatsoever and as a result of that is the fact that when it is revealed who the actual killer is not only does it come out of nowhere it also leaves you scratching your head trying to remember who this character is as when we first meet the character they barely have any lines of dialog outside of sobbing for the fact that the5re lover has just been killed and that's really it and heck even there motivation for wanting to kill people just so people can be scared of this one book that's never been mentioned before now really doesn't work either as a book that can apparently bring back the dead never got mentioned before now and yet that to also doesn't work when you take the previous two seasons worth of episodes into account either which is a good example of just how bad this shows writing really is.

To give this episode some credit the idea of having the friends having to face there fears to help bring Velma back from the dead is a good idea. The issue is tho is that Velma has been a terrible to all three of them and so the friends really have no reason to want to bring her back outside of the fact tat the plot demands that they do it and that's really it and while the third act scene where they all face there greatest fears at once is a good scene but again due to hoe badly Velma  has treated all three not only during this show as whole but also during this special it really does make you wonder they would even want to bring her back as she is just that unlikable as a character even now two seasons into her own show and it's something that the makers of this special have not only refused to talk about in interviews but also refused to fix during the show itself and while that does make sense for the shows second season as that was mostly likely made when the show was first ordered here while this special still would have been made when the show got its initial order there still would have been enough time between the first seasons and this special to at least try to make a small attempt to make her more likable even if it's just re-editing scenes to make her come across as being more likable and yet they don't do that and so she still comes off as being unlikable and her friends still come across as being dumb for wanting to bring her back from the dead.

In a rather bold move this special does actually all but confirm that we're getting a third season of this show by revealing at the end of the special that Fred has now been turned into a zombie as a way to bring Velma back to life. Why the makers of this show chose to do this as it's clear as day from not only alot of the reviews both online and not that people don't like this show and don't want this show to be a thing and yet there still trying to make it be a thing and yet the very idea of them turning this version of Fred into a zombie is at least a somewhat good idea as they are at least trying to do something with this character as for the past few seasons of this show the character has pretty much been nothing more then the comic relief character and while that is still true for this special here they at east make his ignorance to how things work in the real world apart of the main plot of the special and apart of Fred facing his biggest fear of getting a real job but he gets the golden treatment when compared to Norville who's biggest fear comes to him not wanting to hurt anyone close to him and they have that payed off not in some epic way that works for this version of the character but they have it be a joke where he hurts the feeling of the killer which is a disservice to the character while Fred at least gets something to do in this special the same thing cannot be said for Norville who just straight up disappears from the special for a long period of time.

Now then this special has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly thirty seven minuets and fourteen seconds. Which is a solid running time for this special to have as the special really does have more then enough there interms of plot to really cover that large amount of running time but at the same time tho this specials running time is pretty close to that of an average episode of the show which makes this special feel alot less special as all it does is make this special feel like your watching an extended episode of the episode when they really could have done something all the more epic and make something that is worthy of being called a special and yet they don't take full advantage of that idea and heck the special doesn't even take full advantage of its running time either as it doesn't take the time to delve into it's characters both ones that are carried over from the show and the ones that are introduced in this special which makes all of this specials characters feel like one dimensional characters when they really could have taken advantage of this specials mor longer running time to really delve into their characters ad give us the audience a reason to want to seem them succeed and yet they don't do that and as a result of that is the fat that us the audience have no reason to care for these characters and want to see them succeed outside of the fact that the plot demands it and that's really it but I really will admit that this special really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is a comedy that really does means that I have to actually talk about the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very special well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very special was in all honesty really bad. Which is in line with the show as the shows comedy isn't all that good either but where as the show has the excuse of there being more episodes and so just because there are bad jokes in one episode doesn't mean that the joke in the other episodes will be bad here tho they don't have that excuse with all of this specials jokes being painfully unfunny as there's not even a slightly funny joke to be found in this episode with the worst offender in this episode being the fact that it's revealed that one of the people who works for Fred's family has been throwing out Velma's dead body thinking that's rubbish which is just so ridiculous as anyone can see that the two look nothing alike and heck even if the makers of the special wanted to make a joke like that then they should have gone the extra mile and make Velma's body start to decay just a little bit which given this shows more mature rating is something that they very easily could have done and yet they don't which just makes the joke painfully unfunny and all of the specials jokes are exactly like that in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall while this special is indeed a huge step up interms of quality from the show that's not really a high bar to reach as the show is just that bad but at the same time tho this special is still a really bad special as it still has all of the thigs that make the show bad only alot of it is really toned down but with that said tho this special is still slightly more watchable then what the actual show is tho in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad thins that are in this very special in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very special really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 5.5 out of 10 from me.

Worzel Gummidge "The Golden Hind" Review

After a good few months of no new Worzel Gummidge content and weeks after trying this review of the ground. We finally have a new Worzel Gummidge review and it's off an episode that has a little something of an connection to Doctor Who and actually does something different with another character in this episode and so then join me as I review the episode that sees a past Doctor befriend a future Doctor Who companion with the episode in question being called simply just "The Golden Hind" enjoy.

The plot of this episode is when the village gets a new Fish & Chips shop Worzel befriends the dummy outside of the shop only for that dummy to fall in love with Aunt Sally. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot thats actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad as it was the kind of plot that you'd come to expect from the show at this point which isn't a bad thing but it's also the exact problem as this episodes plot really doesn't do anything all that knew either with the only new thing that it does is have Aunt Sally be the one that gets her heartbroken at the end of the episode and that's really it and while the plot of this episode can be seen as being a rather whimsical plot as well as one that does allow itself for alot of fun the plot of this episode also does set up stuff that it never pays off like the fact that they set up stuff with seagulls now flying over Scatterbrook Farm but they never pay it off nor do they explain why there there in the first place with the plot of this episode also being really rather fun and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Also starring in this episode is Charlotte Coleman as Sue Peters , Michael Ripper as Mr. Shepherd , Patrick Newell as Mr. Fletcher , Geoffrey Bayldon as The Crowman , Bernard Cribbins as Jolly Jack , Una Stubbs as Aunt Sally , Norman Bird as Mr. Braithwaite and James Coyle as Mr. Arkinshaw.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally ought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty really good. Which is really nothing new for this show as all of the episodes of this show including the Down Under episodes as well have always had some really good acting in them with this episode really being no exception as all of this episodes actors really do deliver some really good performances in this episode which is something that does make alot of sense as alot of this episodes cast have been playing their respective characters for years at this point and het it's also true for the characters that are introduced in this show with Bernard Cribbins turning in a wonderfully wonderful performance as the Fish & Chip show dummy Jolly Jack with him and Jon Pertwee having some wonderfully funny scenes together as well with the acting that's in this episode really being helped by the fact that the script for this episode is just so good that all this episodes cast have to do really is just say the lines as they are written and a good performance really come out of them naturally which is something that really does help to raise the overall quality of the acting that's in this very episode.

Jolly Jack as a character really does seem like the perfect character for Bernard Cribbins to play as he's basically just an extension of Bernard Cribbins own personality as well. With Jolly Jack being exactly as his name would suggest as he's a very happy character who sings these funny little songs something that Bernard Cribbins himself did as he was a singer as well as an actor and it does seem like the character of Jolly Jack has was based off of Bernard Cribbins which is something that does make him the perfect fit for this character and it's the one thing that this show got right as all of the side characters and all of the guest characters were always perfectly cast so much so that it's hard to imagine anyone else playing those characters with alot of them using things from there actors own personalities with the same thing here with as well and as a result of that is the fact that it's hard to imagine anyone else playing this character as he's cast just so perfectly and while the character himself could have been written for what the character was given to do and how is written in the episode actor Bernard Cribbins does the most that he could have done with him and while the character never had the chance to be as popular as alot of the other characters in this show as this episode aired in the shows final series he is still a really fun character that really could have been brought back for future episodes as he was that entertaining of a character

To give this episode some form of credit it does do something new with the Aunt Sally and that's the fact that they have her be the one to fall in love with Jolly Jack and get her heartbroken by the end of the episode. This is a good twist ending as usually whenever Aunt Sally is in an episode of this show it's usually Worzel that gets his heartbroken and so then to see them have that role filled up Aunt Sally is a good idea and while the character doesn't learn from it as she goes back to treating Worzel the exact same by the end of the episode just the very fact that they went and did something different does prove that the makers of this show are willing to try and do something new with the character and it is something that does work really well within in the context of the episode but at the same time the fact that she doesn't learn anything from this does do the ending a bit of a disservice as while Worzel never ever really learnt anything from all of the things that he went through as he is fundamentally a good person it still would have been nice to see Aunt Sally try and grow as a person something that the makers of this show could have done in this very series as from this series onwards she pretty much becomes a co main character in the show and yet she's still as unlikable as she was when she was just making the occasional guest appearance which is fine when the character is making a guest appearance but it's not fine when she basically become the shows co main character.

Just like with the "Worzel's Wager" episode this episode has the entire village become addicted to buying Fish & Chips. Which is just something that doesn't work due to how unhealthy Fish & Chips is and yet they episodes goes out of it's way to show the characters not only buying huge amounts of food but also eating it as well which is such a bad message to show kids as those characters are going to gain lots of weight fast if they kept that up and as we don't get to find out if the Fish & Chips shop goes out of business or not it's safe to assume that it's still there in their village and it's also safe to assume that the villagers are still eating huge amounts of Chips or Fish & Chips and while the "Worzel's Wager" episode could have been turned into an anti gambling episode very quickly here it would be a challenge as the makers of the episode don't really show the down side of eating lots of Chips at all instead which is a shame as that would be a good message to show kids like yes having Chips is a good thing but having to much of them in an unhealthy thing and can lead you to gaining lots of weight and yet despite the fact that this show very popular when it was first being aired it still didn't take the chance to do anything like that instead the show doesn't even bring it up and while yes the characters are shown eating lots of cake given that alot of the characters don't have stomachs there not really gaining weight whereas here you openly see the shows kid main characters eating lots of Chips quite often in the episode and that is something that should have been brought up in the context of the episode and not just ignored.

In what was a shocking move this episode does actually show Worzel standing up for himself against Aunt Sally. Something which does work as we the audience have seen this characters get abused quite often by Aunt Sally and while the episode does go back on it by the mid way point of the episode it is still great to see him turn her down when she asks him for one of his Chips as he knows that she'll take advantage and take the whole bad and she even goes as far to offer to marry him and he till turns her down this time stating that he doesn't want to marry someone who only wants to marry him just for his chips alone which while that is a funny idea it is still a good sign as it shows that Worzel is growing of a character and while the character does go back on that by the midway point as he gets jealous of Jolly Jack it is still a good sign as it shows that he's more then aware of just how awful of a characters that she is and that even he as his limits something which Aunt Sally reaches several times in the shows run but because of the fact that he's a good person he lets her off and yet here he's had enough of her and just outright says no to her several times and it's something that is such a highlight of the episode that makes it all the more sad when he goes back on himself to try and win her back when he should have been more focused on moving on from her.

Now then this episode has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly twenty five minuets and fifty nine seconds. Which is pretty much the bogstandard running time for this show to have and to this episodes credit it does have more then enough there interms of plot to really cover that amount of running time and while it really doesn't take full advantage of that running time due to the fact that it is a short running time with a plot that really could have been served for another hour long episode which would have allowed the episode to fully develop it's newer characters alot more and it would have allowed for the relationship between Aunt Sally and Jolly Jack be alot more developed then what it already as while it really does come across as being a decently done relationship if they had more time to delve into their relationship even if it;s just one or two more scenes it could then make the ending all the more heartbreaking when Jolly Jack leaves the village to go back on the sea something that he was quite literally made to do and while the ending does indeed work with this shorter running time if the episode was a little bit longer the ending could have been a little bit better but at the same time tho that might mean having scenes that add nothing to the overall plot of the episode but I really will admit that this episode really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is a comedy that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honestly personally thought / felt that the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty really good. With there being alot of really cute and funny moments in this episode and while there there aren't that many laugh out loud funny moments in this episodes the very few laugh loud moments that this episode does indeed does work really well in this episode like the fact that alot of the stuff with Micheal Ripper does indeed get alot of laughs and while they made Mr. Peters a bit to dumb in this episode with him not even knowing how to make a cup of tea that doesn't change the fact that his first scene in the episode with the kids is still a funny scene and the whole episode is alot like this as while they do have alot of really unfunny moments in it the scenes that those moments are in are really funny scenes and that is something that really does work for this episode and while it doesn't match the comedy for this show when it was at it's height it still doesn't change the fact that this episode does have some really funny moments in it in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall while this is a really good episode it's an episode that could have been alot better by having a much more longer running time but given the running time that episode does indeed have the episode is still a really good and a really fun filled episode in it's own right as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then  i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very episode in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very episode really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 7.5 out of 10 from me.

Beetlejuice "Laugh Of The Party" Review

With Beetlejuice Beetlejuice currently being a smash hit in theaters and proving that there is still life in this franchise yet. People are now very slowly but very surely beginning to remember that before there was an official sequel to the film Beetlejuice there was an animated series that did also act as a sequel as well and since i've been having an absolute, blast with reviewing various episodes from this show I thought that now was the absolutely right time to check another episode from this classic animated series and so then join me as I review the episode that is also the franchises very first ever halloween special with the episode in question being called simply just "Laugh Of The Party" enjoy.

The plot of this is episode is when Lydia decides to throw a halloween party she has to deal with the school snob and try to put on the most frightening party possible. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actually plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad as while yes it is a very simple plot that's very easy to follow along with those are also the kind of things that you also want to have in a kids TV show with the plot of episode being just as weird and creative as the rest of this show is which is something that does work in this episodes favor as this is a show that's from the mind of Tim Burton and as a result of that is the fact that you do expect the storyline to be a little bit out there and to be a little bit weird and thankfully that's something that this episode really does give us and because of that we also get a halloween that is actually fun to watch as well as being scary in a kid friendly kind of a way as well and while yes the plot of this episode could have been better given that it is a halloween special at the same time this is the kind of episode that you'd expect from Beetlejuice The Animated series as well with the plot of this episode also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this episode is Stephen Ouimette as Beetlejuice / Bettyjuice and X-Men and X-Men'97 star Alyson Court as Lydia Deetz. Also starring in this episode is Elizabeth Hanna as Delia Deetz , Roger Dunn as Charles Deetz , voice acting legend Teen Titans , Teen Titans Go , My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic and The Fairly Odd Parents star Tara Strong as Bertha and Claire Brewster and Tabitha St. Germain as Prudence.

Now then interms of what Im personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty really good. Wit all of the actors that you expect a good performance from really delivering exactly that as all of this episodes really do deliver some really solid performances in this episode and even tho this show was made very early on in her voice acting career you can tell that Tara Strong is a good actress as she really is unrecognisable in her roles in this episode and completely just becomes both of her characters with the true standout performer in in this episode being none other then Stephen Ouimette as Beetlejuice / Bettyjuice just due to the fact that he basically has to play two very different versions of the same character and yet still make it clear that it's the same character something which is very hard to do and yet here because both of those times he's still just playing Beetlejuice it really does work even the lack of him changing his voice that much oddly works as it's something that Beetlejuice would do even if it's just to mess with the people with the acting that's ain this very episode really being helped by this episodes script which is just so good that all this episodes cast really have to do is just say the lines as they are written ad a good performance really will come out of them naturally which is something that really does help to raise the overall qulity of the acting that's in this very episode.

Doing the animation for this episode is the legends and the greats that are currently over at Nelvana and Wang Film Productions Company. Now the interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty really good with the episode having some really creative shots that really do show off this episodes animation and while yes there are times when this animation doesn't look good but at the same time tho that's more due to when this show was being made and is not due to something that's in the actual episode itself with really the only major issue with the animation is the fact that it can look dated at times and that's really it with the overall quality of the animation being really high quality with all of the characters also having some really nice and fluid movements to them but what would have made this episodes animation better was if some of the creatures that Beetlejuice lets loose on the party had some really creative and weird looking designs to them as that would have been fitting for not only this show but for the franchise as a whole but the designs that they do use for not only the creatures but also the shows human characters do look really good as does the backgrounds in not only the human world but also the neither world as well.

What was shocking was the fact that we get just how much of a really good friend that Beetlejuice is to Lydia. As once he finds out that local school snob Claire Brewster is planning on leaving Lydia's party but also being just not a nice person in general he does go about putting her in her place and while he does so in typical Beetlejuice fashion and not just outwardly calling her out for it it is something that really does show you that he really does care about Lydia and would do anything to project his friend and while yes it does end in the typical mayhem that always seems to follow Beetlejuice around it doesn't change the fact that he at least did try to help Lydia something which he had also try to do earlier on in the episode by helping to get stuff for her party from the neither world which again does end in the typical Beetlejuice fashion it doesn't change the fact that he at least made the effort to help her out something that the movie Beetlejuice would never do as that would seem out of character for him but for the animated series version of Beetlejuice it is something that really does work for his character as this version of the character is meant to be a more kid friendly version of the Beetlejuice character and with that in mind seeing him try to help Lydia out really does work and it really does go along to way to show us the audience that he really does see her as a friend and that he himself is a good friend in his own unique way.

Speaking of the Claire Brewster character here she really doesn't really get all that much to do as she only appears in a few short scenes. However what scenes she does appear in do a solid job of making her feel like the typical rich kid snob that was in alot of kids shows during the eighties and nineties which does sadly have the add on effect of making her character come across as being predictable as it becomes very obvious very early on what her comeuppance will be and it doesn't really feel earned as we don't get to see al that much of her in this episode with the same thing also being said for the characters of Bertha and Prudence and there meant to be Lydia's human world best friends and yet neither of them are given alot of screen time to fully establish themselves as characters and as a result of that is the fact that there characters really are forgettable characters so much so that it's shocking whenever they appear on screen as despite appearing in the scene when the main plot of the episode does start neither of them have any impact on the actual plot of the episode which they really could have done just by having them interact with Claire and having them defend Lydia to Claire which would set them up as Lydia's human world best friends and would make Claire more out to be her rival in a way that feels natural and organic and yet because the episode doesn't do that none of that can get be set up and established and those characters really do suffer because of that fact.

As a halloween episode this episode really doesn't lead into the halloween all that much with the holiday itself only being brought up once or twice and that's really it. However at the same time tho it is oddly fitting for this shoe to have a halloween special and the episode does what little that it could have done with the holiday in the short running time that it is has as we do get to see characters in fancy dress dressed as characters like Frankenstein's Monster and others for example and Beetlejuice does transform is head into a pumpkin and that's really it and to be that's all you really need for a kid friendly halloween special and while yes it would have been better if the episode did lean more into it's horror aspect due to the fact that the original film was a horror comedy it does make sense that they would tone that down in order to play up the comedy aspect of the episode but it would have worked really well for this episode if they did turn up the horror aspect of the episode given that this is a halloween special and given that the first film did have some really creative and really funny scares that is something that they could have done and still not have it effect the episodes comedy in anyway whatsoever and while we do get some child friendly horror imagery like seeing a bodyless hand reach out and grab a girl and of course we do get the creatures that Beetlejuice does accidentally unleash on Lydia's party and the town as a whole but that's really it and even then the creatures themselves don't do anything that's even kid friendly scary they just run around the town and they just dance at Lydia's party and that's really it.

Now then this episode has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly twenty two minuets and forty six seconds. Which is an absolutely perfect running time for this episode to have as when you when you get right down to it the episode really does have the right amount of plot there to really cover that amount of running time and while even if you take into account all of the side plot stuff with Beetlejuice finding out what Claire is really up to there's nothing that's in this episode that you can really take out and as a result of that is the fact that this episode is as perfect as it possibly could be from a running time point of view but at the same time tho this episode could have been better if it was a little bit longer as that would then allow the episode to develop more of the side characters alot more then what the episode currently does and this is something that could make the episode alot better then what it actually is as it's the side characters that kick start the plot and even with a longer running time it would allow the episode to give us some more scares as well but at the same time tho those scenes with new and more scares could also be seen as filler as there would be no way to connect those scares to the main plot of the episode and would therefor make those scenes filler scenes and feel like that there padding out the episode when the episode really doesn't need padding out at all but I really will admit that the episode really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is a comedy that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty really good. With this episode having some really good and funny moments even the very fact that Beetlejuice under the guise of Bettyjuice is interest in Delia's art  and the very fact that she has quite literally has hundreds of paintings just ready to show people is a really funny idea and t's something that's really in keeping for that character and even the fact that Claire manages to possibly get a boyfriend who is the party animal that Beetlejuice bought from the neither world party store is quite literally an animal that's always ready to party is a funny joke with the best joke in the whole entire episode being the fact that Lydia for a small portion of the episode is forced to wear a pink rabbit suit complete with a rabbit nose which is a good idea as it's something that this goth girl would absolutely hate to wear and the fact that she's forced to wear it even for a small portion of the episode is a good idea but at the same time tho what would have made the joke even funnier was if she got to wear for the whole episode instead of having her "fix" the costume by making it into a what might be a bear which is fitting for her character but at the same time tho it is something that works really well for her character as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall it is great to see people starting to talk about this show more and this is episode is a really solid episode but at the same time tho it is an episode that could have been episode and it is also an episode that makes you wonder just how a Beetlejuice: The Animated Series Christmas special would be like as well as that is something that would has all of the potential to be weird and wonderful in all of the best ways possible in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very episode in this very review and as such that really does mean that that this very episode really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly an 8 out of 10 from me.

Lego: Star Wars Rebuild The Galaxy TV Series SPOILER FILLED Review

Lego and Star Wars have had a few decent specials in the past and such it wasn't quite shocking when they announced that they were working on a TV miniseries together. With the miniseries in question having only just come out and as i've reviewed pretty much all of the the Lego Star Wars specials it really only made sense that I review this miniseries the very first chance that I get and so then join me as I give you my SPOILER FILLED review of the show sees the Star Wars universe enter the multiverse with the show in question being called simply just "Lego: Star Wars Rebuild The Galaxy" enjoy.

The plot of this show is when a piece that's binding the Star Wars galaxy as we know it is pulled out from a Jedi temple it's up to young hero Sig to travel across this new Star Wars galaxy in order to try and put his own galaxy back together again. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very show well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very show was in all honesty not that bad but at the same time the plot of this show isn't all that good either as it's not the kind of plot that works within the confides of the Star Wars franchise with the plot of this show being something that would work better in a show like Doctor Who for example where as here Star Wars has never experimented with alternative universes before now and while this is a non canon story it is something that does feel out of place in the Star Wars universe this is despite it being a really good plot for very little kids there's nothing that in this show plot wise that will please die hard Star Wars fans tho with the plot of this show also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about thew acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very show well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very show was in all honesty not that bad. As the people that you expect to deliver a good performance really do deliver a really good performance the issue is tho is that the acting from alot of the shows more younger really isn't that good with alot of them being wither wooden or miscast at best and those that do deliver a solid performance get lost in the shuffle from all of the bad acting that this show has to offer and while it is great to see some true legendary Star Wars characters back again alot of them are only there for fanservice and nothing more then that with alot of them just appearing in one or two scenes in one episode and that's really it and while the sound alikes that they do get to play them do a good job playing those characters nothing will ever beat hearing the real thing which granted in some cases they had to recast there characters but it still would have been better hearing the actual live action actors return to voice there respective characters as that's just how good the original actors are as there respective characters with the acting that's in this show not really being helped by he fact that the script for this show just aren't that good with this shows actors not really being given alot to work with interms of what it is that there actual characters personalities are even meant to be in the first place which is something that really does effect the overall quality of the acting that's in this very show.

Doing the animation for this show is the legends and the greats that are currently over at Atomic Cartoons. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very show well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very show was in all honesty not that bad as this show does take an animation style that's similar to The Lego Movie in that yes it's CGI but it's done in a way that makes it look like stop motion animation and that style is one that will never get old and it is something that does look good in this show with the shows animation being alot better then what it really had any right to be as nobody expects good animation from a Lego Star Wars Disney+ special and yet that's exactly what we get here in this show with the characters having some really smooth looking and fluid movements to them and while the show does have an animation style that's similar to The Lego Movie it doesn't copy everything that those movies did which do lessen the effect and remind you that your just watching a special instead of making you feel like that your playing with the actual Lego sets.

SPOILERS START HERE!!!!!!!!!!!

There was one character that I left of the list of characters that actor Dee Bradley Baker is playing in this show and that's the fact that he's also playing Darth Nubs. Who as the name would suggest is an evil version of his character from Young Jedi Adventures with this show being a good way to have more of those characters given the fact that those characters can pretty much never appear further along in the timeline due to the fact that Young Jedi Adventures takes place during the High Republic Era with his appearance in this show being nothing more then a fanservice moment and even then it's not really something that alot of people will get given that this show has a much more older target audience then the younger audience that Yung Jedi Adventures is aiming to get but at the same time it was still fun seeing the character show up as an evil version of himself the issue is tho is that the show does nothing with his character with him really only appearing in one scene in episode two and that's really it as he just straight up disappears from the show which makes his inclusion in the show feel pointless especially as they could have had someone else play the role that he plays in this show as his character really does nothing in this show apart from be someone that the main villain of the show can yell at and that's really it.

One of the main talking points of this show while it was being promoted was the fact that they finally had an evil version of Jar-Jar Binks. With his character like all of the evil versions of characters all having the word Darth before there name and Darth Jar-Jar Binks is a really fun as at heart he's still the clumsy version of the character that we met all the way back The Phantom Menace which does make him fun to watch and the show does try to do something fun with his character by making an evil bounty hunter who's after the thing that our heroes have in order to give to an evil Sith Lord version of Sig's brother except he nearly always messes it up in some creative way which does make him a fun character but at the same time tho the show really doesn't feature his character all that much and do all that much with his character with the show only featuring a small handful of times when it would have been better if he served as a secondary antagonist for the main heroes instead of having that role filled in by the dull and uninteresting Darth Rey who is just as bland and just as uninteresting as the hero version of her character only now she's dressed all in black and never ever smiles where as with Darth Jar-Jar they could at least get some comedy out of his character which would be something that would appease the shows target kid audience as Jar-Jar Binks himself was a character that mostly kids really did like.

As a comedy this show isn't as funny as all of the other Lego Star Wars specials or even any of the Lego special for that matter. As in this show all of the jokes seem to be just references to other Star Wars media which is something that's fine for one or two jokes but when all of the shows jokes boil down to the characters making references to other Star Wars media not only does it start to get old and old really fast in this case it also goes along way to show you that the makers of this show really didn't bother to come up with any actually funny jokes and thought that just including references to the Star Wars projects would be more the  enough to create an actually funny jokes and while yes the show does do some funny things with it characters like by having the alternative Luke Skywalker be this surfer bro type of character who inherited his fathers Podracing skills is a funny idea but like alot of things in this show the makers of this show do nothing funny with that idea instead we only see him Podracing in one technically two episodes and that's really it when they could have done some really funny jokes and had some really creative set pieces with this version of Luke Skywalker Podracing and yet they do nothing with that idea and it just makes it seem like a waste of a good idea but to the shows credit they do hint at this good guy version of Darth Vader still being Luke's father in a pretty funny way but even then that joke could also be argues is nothing more then a fanservice moment as well.

Now then this show really has / has an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour and thirty minuets. With the show really having episodes that last no longer then twenty three minuets which is a solid running time for this show as the show really does have have just the right amount of plot there to really cover that amount of running time but even with that in mind the show doesn't resolve it's main plot line which does mean that there will mostly likely be more episodes in the future which does go against everything that was said in the build up to this show coming out as the show was promoted as being a four part limited series and with that in mind you'd expect them to finish of the plot of the show which they don't do which does mean that there really pushing the limits of this show from a running time point of view as if this show stuck with it's four episode order and stuck to that very limited running time then it would have been a very passable series where no scene feels wasted as every single scene was about advancing the plot and the character and yet now by stretching out and by possibly adding more episodes they run the risk of stretching the shows plot really thin as the show really doesn't have alot of plot there to cover more episodes but I really will admit that this show really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

However on the flip side of that is the fact that this shows action really isn't all that good either not that it's bad because it's not it's just not as fun and not as creative as you'd want it to be with alot of boiling down to who can hit who the hardest and there not really being any variation in that with there being the occasional aerial battle and that's really it and while we do get some of the creativity that Lego is known for we don't get to see all that often which is a shame because when they do get be really creative that's when the action scenes are not only really fun to watch but it's also when there really engaging to watch as well as we the audience are then left wondering how the character really will get out of this situation all of which makes you wonder why the overall vast majority of this shows action is not only very boring to look at but is also very predictable as well as it because very obvious very quickly not only who is going to come out on top in the action scene but also tho the characters will end up escaping the action scene as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this wasn't a bad series but at the same tie it wasn't a good one as while yes it will indeed please some of the young audience that this show is quite clearly trying to reach those are the only ones that will get some enjoyment from this show as there's not alot that's actually enjoyable about this actual show in the first place in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very show in this very show and as such that really does mean that this very show really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 5 out of 10 from me.
