Spawn: The Animated Series: Burning Visions Review

Comic book superheroes getting an animated series in fact it's rather rare these days to find a comic book superhero that doesn't have an animated series. However what is still odd to this very day is to find an animated series that's just as adult and just as mature as the comic book that it spawned from and well that's just the case with the episode that i'm about to review for you all today and so then join me as I review the episode that has a shocking amount of narration in it with the episode in question being called simply just "Burning Visions" enjoy.

The plot of this episode is when he is reincarnated and tasked to fight in the devils army Lieutenant Colonel Al Simmons must decide between doing what is right or doing the devils bidding. Now then interms of what I personally 5tyhought / felt about thew actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well the in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad but that's also the problem tho as the plot of this episode wasn't all that good either as the plot really was so wafer thin at best that at times it was really hard to tell what the actual plot of the episode even was in the first place but when the plot did show up it really was a decent plot but it's just one that could have been done alot better and has been done better in other shows and movies with the plot of this episode also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Also starring in this episode is Dominique Jennings as Wanda Blake , John Rafter Lee as Jason Wynn , Michael Nicolosi as Clown , Kath Soucie as Cyan Fitzgerald , James Keane as Detective Sam Burke and Antonio "Tony Twist" Twistelli , Michael McShane as Detective Maximilian "Twitch" Williams and Gareb , Victor Love as Bobby , Ronny Cox as Senator Scott McMillan and Spawn creator and the creator and executive producer of this show Todd McFarlane as Himself.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty really good. With the acting in this episode being alot better then what it really had any right to be as nobody would blame the actors in this episode if they chose not give that good of a performance due to the fact that the Spawn character and the Spawn comic books aren't that well known and yet there's just as much love , care an attention from not only a show making point of view but also an acting point of view in this show that you'd expect in something like Batman: The Animated Series and because of that is the fact that all of this episodes cast members really do turn in some really good performances in this episode with the acting in this episode really being helped by the fact that the script for this episode is just so good that all this episodes cast have to do is just say the lines as they are written and a good performance will come out of them naturally which is something that really does raise the overall quality of the acting that's in this very episode.

Doing the animation for this episode is the legends and the greats that are currently over at Koko Enterprises Company and Sheen Production. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode weas in all honesty really good with the animation in this episode being alot better then what it really had right to be which does make sense that given that one of the animation studios that are doing the animation for this episode also did animation for several episodes and films based off of Batman: The Animated Series and as a result of that is the fact that it really does make sense that they would turn in some really good animation in this episode as they always do turn in some really good animation with the characters having some really good and fluid movements and the backgrounds looking very visually striking all of which really do mesh well with the episodes more gothic tone and it's much more darker and horrific lore as well.

This episode and the show as a whole is a really violent show with there being lots of blood and gore in pretty much every single episode. Which is something that does make sense given that the Spawn character works for the devil and he would there for have access to all pf these gruesome ways to kill and hurt people which he does make great use in this episode and heck this episode is alot more violent then what the movie was and is alot more mature then other animated shows that were on at the time and much like Game Of Thrones and House Of The Dragon it does take full advantage of it's more mature rating by having alot of things that just wouldn't fly in other animated shows and because of that is the fact that the show really does standout from all of the other superhero animated shows that were out there at the time as alot of them do start to blend into one where as here because of mature and how violent this episode and this show is it stands out from all of the other superhero animated shows that were being released at the time.

One of the things that do let this episode down is the fact that they have a narrator who just doesn't shut up. With the narrator having more lines of dialog then any of the main characters and coming in on parts of the episode where he's not really needed and while yes having a narrator for your show does indeed help the show out as it makes the show feel a bit more different the episode also needed to let the characters talk as this is the first time that alot of the mainstream public are really getting to see these characters and having a narrator constantly talk and get in the way of the plot it is something that really can put alot of people of as it also gets in the way with giving us the audience a good chance to see just who these characters are as people and while yes the show has three seasons worth of episodes to get all of that across it is something that should have started with this episode as with a first episode you really need to put your best foot forward and that's really not something that happens with this episode in any way whatsoever and it is something that really does get in the way of the episode from reaching it's true potential.

This show is listed as being a horror show and yet outside of there being demons in this episode there was nothing to really justify being classed as a horror show. While maybe the gory deaths might help it be classed of a horror those aren't scary and horror needs to be scary but the idea of there being a horror comic book superhero animated show is a good idea as both horror and animation have blended together perfectly at several points in the past and and doing an animated horror show about a comic book would have the potential to be a really cool and while yes the demons in this episode do look really cool with Clown / Violator looking really cool he doesn't get to do all that much in the episode as the episode is all about telling us Spawn's origin story which does make sense but at the same time tho the episode should have set up some of his side villains as well and yet they really don't do that with Clown being the only recognisable villain to appear in this episode but all he does is just say a few lines of dialog here and there and that's really it and that's not enough for us the audience to geta decent idea of who that character is as a character.

Now then then this episode has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly twenty seven minuets and thirty nine seconds. Which is a tad bit o the long side for this episode to have as the episode really doesn't have alot of plot to really cover that large amount of running time and because of that is the fact that this episode really could have been better if it was just a few minuets just to make the episode flow alot more better then what it already does because as things stand with the episode having a thin plot and long running time thing just don't flow all that well with Spawn's back story which is the main plot of the episode being told in flashback form with the main story revolving around a series of killings which isn't that interesting and bogs the episode down and as a result of that is the fact that the episode really would have been better if the episode was alot more focused on telling Spawn's origin and had the present day plot be saved for the second episode of the show as there's alot of story material that you could use from Spawn's origin which would make great use of the episodes running time but I will admit that this episode really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is an action show that means that I have to actually talk about the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad. However at the exact same time the action that's in this episode wasn't all that good either as it wasn't as thrilling nor as cool or exciting as it really could have been and while yes we do get to see some really cool moments in this episode action wise there not as good as they really should have been nor as good as a character like this who has all of these dark powers really should have been either but to really give this episode some credit the episodes animation really does come alive during the episodes action and while we really don't get to see alot of cool moments from this episode action what we do get to see really is alot better then what it really had any right to be and is alot better then the action that we get in alot of other action shows which really does make sense as this episode and this show does have Batman: The Animated Series co-creator Eric Radomski working on it and it's quite clear that he knows how to stage some really good looking action scenes in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall while this episode is indeed a decent start to the series it also doesn't give you a reason to want to watch the rest of the series either as there's no hook to this episode that makes you want to watch the next episode but the episode does have the potential to be a really good episode tho in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very episode in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very episode really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 7.5 out of 10 from me.

Noddy's Toyland Adventures "Noddy Loses Sixpence" Review

There are quite alot of childrens shows out there that are forgotten about for one reason or another be it because of the fact that the series itself didn't last long or the series itself just wasn't that good in the first place. Well the episode that i'm going to be talking about today is an example of a show being forgotten about because of the fact that those who grew up watching it just don't talk about it or don't let there kids see something from the same franchise and so then join me as I review the episode that introduces us to the world of toyland with the episode in question being called simply just "Noddy Loses Sixpence" enjoy.

The plot of this episode is when he finds out that Mr. Milko the milkman has lost his watch Noddy sets out on a quest to find the watch and several other things that have been lost as well Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty simple at best and in this case that is a very good as that's all the plot to a kids show should be simple and with the plot of this episode being as simple as it is it does allow for a certain charm to shine on through something which wouldn't be possible if the episode had a much more complicated plot to it which would do alot more harm to the episode then it would do good for the episode with the plot of this episode also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this episode is Susan Sheridan as Noddy , Dinah Doll , Martha Monkey , Clockwork Mouse and Miss Pink Cat and Jimmy Hibbert as Big Ears , Mr Train Driver and Mr Milko. What makes this show standout is the fact that instead of having one voice actors play every role in the show it instead has two voice actors playing all of the roles in any given episode of the show which does allow for more variety in not only voices being heard at any given time but also in performances as it could be very easy to assume that since the acting is good in one episode that it's going to be good in all of the shows episodes as well and it also really does allow for the both of the actors to really bounce of each others personalities something which does come through in the final cut of the episode and while alot of other shows do now have multiple people voicing multiple roles in any given episode this was one of the shows that did it and did it well and it's something that really does work well enough in this episodes advantage.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty really good. With both of this episodes cast members turning in some really good performances so much that at times it was hard to tell who was playing who as the voices that each actors uses for there respective characters really does fit each character perfectly and perfectly captures the whimsical and playful tone of not only the world that this show takes place in but also the world that this show takes place in as well with the acting in this episode really being helped by the fact that the script for this episode is just so good that all this episodes cast have to do is just say the lines as they are written and a good performance will come out of them naturally which is something that really does help to raise the overall quality of the acting that's in this very episode.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty really good and is something that does hold up all of these years later and while yes some of the animation in alot of these shows and this episode can come across as looking rather dated that does add to the charm to them as they then can also look timeless where as alot of CGI animation is going to look dated in a few months time here because there using stop motion animation it adds a slight timeless factor that is present throughout alot of the episode and while yes some of the animation in this episode does come across as looking rather bad and dated the overall quality of the animation that's in this episode was really good.

The best word that I can quite possibly use to describe this show and this episode is simple and that's because everything about this show is just that it's simple. With that being a really good thing as kids don't like having super dark and super complicated plots and characters in there young kids shows and instead having a show where the plots are simple and very easy to follow and the characters that whilst lacking much in the way of a personality are also simple can often make for a really enjoyable episode as is the case with this episode as due to the fact that the plot and the characters are simple heck even the backgrounds are simple looking backgrounds the whole episode has a certain charm to it that can't be beaten by modern day kids TV shows as those shows are trying to please everyone but end up pleasing no one where as a show like this knows that it's a simple show and and it really isn't afraid to be just that a simple and laid back show for little kids to watch , enjoy and hopefully learn a lesson from.

One of the biggest issue that there is to find with this show is that things are wrapped up a little bit two quickly. As it would have made for a rather exciting finish to the story if we saw Noddy returning all of the things that he found that day and collecting the money that was owed to him from everyone instead all of that happens off screen which in away does make sense as the episodes target audience most likely didn't have enough interest in seeing Noddy return everything that he found but at the same time given that returning those objects was a key part pf the episodes plot it would have made alot more sense to see him returning those objects and seeing if not hearing those people apologize to him after they thought that he lost there objects on purpose and yet because of the fact that all of that happens of screen what we end up with a something that not only feels unearned but also feels rushed as all heck as well when it worked out much more better in the episodes favor if we saw all of that stuff instead of having it happen off screen.

In what was a rather shocking move this episode does actually try to make us the audience cry and feel something for Noddy. Which both does and doesn't work it does work in the sense that the episode has made the Noddy character out to be this really sympathetic character who really will do the best that he can do to help out all of his friends but at the same time tho it doesn't work in the episodes favor as it doesn't really feel earned and comes out of nowhere this is due to the fact that this is only the episodes first series and while a moment like this could have worked if it was much more further down in the series order as by that point in time we the audience would have had alot more time to get to know not only Noddy but all of the other characters as well and as a result of that is the fact that the more emotional moment would worked better but having it here just lessens it's impact a little bit as we don't know the Noddy character all that well yet and neither do we know all of the other characters in toyland all that well yet either,

Now then this episode has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly ten minuets and twenty eight seconds. Which is about the bogstandard running time for a show like this one to have and to the episodes credit it does have more then enough there interms of plot to really cover that amount of running time and it does take as full advantage of that running time as it really could have done and while yes the episode would have worked better if it did have a slightly longer running time as that would allow the characters to become alot more fleshed out then what they already but really at the same time tho that would mean that this episode already thin plot as wonderfully written as it is really would be stretched out even thinner then what it already is and that would be a huge issue for the episode as a whole and that would also mean that the episodes target audience might start to loose interest in the show as a whole but I really will admit that this episode really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is a comedy that means that I have to actually talk about the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad. However that's also the problem as alot of this episodes isn't all that good either apart from Miss Pink Cat being a really over the top drama queen none of the characters in this episode are that funny nor are they given that many funny things to say or do and as a result of that is the fact that we're left watching these characters that we don't really know all that well just go about there day to day lives and while that is fine for a thirty minuet show that's aimed at an older audience for a ten minuet little kids show however the jokes really do need to be at least passable or something that they'd find to be funny in someway shape or form in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall while this show was a really good show that kids could really enjoy thanks to the animation and the simple character the episode feels like it should have been alot more further down in the series running order instead of being the first episode of the series as whole in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good ans as well as all of the bad things that are in this very episode in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very episode really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 7 out of 10 from me.

Doctor Who: Empire Of Death SPOILER FILLED Review

It's finally here the day that alot of us have been waiting for as the Doctor Who series finale has just finished airing. With regardless of what you all think of the series as a whole this one finale is one of the better episodes of this series and so then join me as I give you my SPOILER FILLED review of the episode that sees series fourteen of Doctor Who come to a close with the episode in question being called simply just "Empire Of Death" enjoy.

The plot of this episode is with Sutekh back and about to unleash his latest plan to destroy the earth it's up to The Doctor , Ruby and Mel to find a way to defeat the god of death once and for all. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty person ally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad with the plot of this episode proving way both this and the previous episode were two part episodes as there's no way in heck that the plot of both episodes could be told in one episode with the plot of this episode being a wonderful plot to end this series on as it's a plot that really does feel like that it belongs in a series finale as that's just how epic the plot of this episode really with the plot of this episode being really rather entertaining and and well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Now then interms of what I personally thought ; felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty really good. With all of this episodes cast members turning in some really good performances which is something that really shouldn't be all that surprising as the acting in alot of this series episodes have been really good with the true standouts in not only this series but also this episode being Ncuti Gatwa as The Doctor and Millie Gibson as Ruby Sunday who just turn in some truly fantastic performances in this episode with alot of the actors in this episode turning in some really good performances as well but none of them can really hold a candle to just how good both Ncuti and Millie are in not only this episode but also this first as a whole as well with the acting in this episode really being helped by the fact that the script for this episode is just so good that all this episodes cast have to do is just say the lines as they are written and a good performances will come out of them naturally which is something that really does raise the overall quality of the acting that's in this very episode.

Doing the CGI for this episode is Automatik VFX and the legends and the greats that are currently over at Real SFX. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty very good with the CGI in this episode both obvious and hidden being movie quality CGI heck they didn't even film in London and yet because of the fact that the CGI in this episode is that good the London skyline is added into shots where it would be visible and your not going to notice it and while yes there some dodgy looking effects to be found in this episode weas somethings looking a bit to fake those are in the minority and don't represent the majority of the effects that are in this very episode with alot of the episodes effects being really good with Sutekh himself looking really good and looking alot better then what he had any right to be which really isn't all that surprising as thanks to all of the Disney money Doctor Who can now afford some actually good looking CGI effects something which they really couldn't afford even five years ago.

What wasn't really expected was the fact that this episode basically does what Avengers: Infinity War also did. That being the fact that alot of the cast of characters do end up being killed of in this episode however what made the scene in Avengers: Infinity War worked was the fact that alot of who got killed of were main characters where as here there all side character or guest characters and as a result of that is the fact that a scene that should be an emotional gut punch for us the viewers doesn't really work all that well as as there not characters that are important to the show imagine if say Ruby Sunday was one of the characters that got killed of then it would be shocking and it would make you wonder if she's going to brought back and yet because it's either side characters or guest characters that get killed of the scene lacks the emotional gut punch that a scene lack this really should have and while this wouldn't be an issue if it wasn't a key plot point but as it is a key plot point it's a scene that really should have been worked on and tweaked alot more then what it was.

One of the best mysteries that this series had going for it was who was Ruby's mother and while yes this episode does indeed answer that question. The reveal of who her mother was is rather underwhelming as while it is shocking that her mother wasn't anybody important or any body that we already knew it's a reveal that could have been handled better as we only get the reveal in the last ten minuets of the episode when something like this should have been built up alot better and played a bigger part in the plot of the episode instead of just having it appear in the last ten minuets of the episode which only cheapens the reveal as this is something that's been a really big mystery throughout this whole series and it should have been treated as a big deal as that's exactly what it's been built up to be and yet because of the fact that they threw that all away just for the sake of having the big reveal happen in the last few minuets of the episode when something that's been treated as a big deal really should have played a bigger plot of the episode. 

One of the things that the episode gets very wrong is he fact that The Doctor breaks his own promise by killing Sutekh. This is just one example of the bad writing that does plague alot of this episode as The Doctor would never kill an enemy of his heck even in Genesis Of The Daleks he has a great speech where he questions if he has the right to wipe out an entire race and chooses not to do it because it would make him no better then The Daleks themselves and it's the same thing here as by killing Sutekh The Doctor becomes no better then him with his death being just one example of alot of the bad writing that is all over this episode as The Doctor just knows that Mel has turned evil and plans with Ruby to get the TARDIS back all of which is done of screen and while yes they do show Mel touching The Doctor which clues him in to Mel being dead it's the part after it where he says Ruby and they start making there plan that comes out of nowhere as while yes it does make for a solid surprise it's also something that not only should have been handled better but also something that should have been shown on screen as well.

Now then this episode has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly fifty four minuets and five seconds. Which is a solid running time for this episode to have as the episode really does have more then enough there interms of plot to really cover that large amount of plot and while the episode could have done with cutting down on the episodes many endings as alot of them do make the episode drag a little bit as they don't really add anything and are there just for the sake of being there which makes them feel alot like filler scenes this episode is also a really good example of being a two part episode as there's absolutely no way that this whole story could be told in one episode as there's just so much story for one episode but at the same time this episode also would have benefitted from being a three part episode with the scene where all of the side characters and guest characters get killed of being the cliffhanger for the second part as this would allow for alot of the characters to have some development as characters like Rose Noble once again gets the short end of the stick as she only has one line of dialog near the end of the episode and if this episode was a three part episode then she and others could have gotten some character development but I will admit that this episode really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is an action show that means that I have to actually talk about the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty really good. With the action in this episode being some of if not the best action that we got all series just because of the fact that this was a two part episode and as a result of that is the fact that the episode had some really high stakes which made the action in this episode not only more exciting but also more shocking as the characters could have failed at any point and if they did then they would have died which did make the action all of the more shocking to see and while yes the action could have been alot better considering that Doctor Who has never really had great action anyway the fact that we got some really good action alone does really show you what this show can do from an action standpoint when they have to money behind them to do whatever it is that they want to do from an action point of view in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this episode was a really solid end to a really solid debut season that despite having it's ups and downs has been alot better then alot of the Jodie Whittaker seasons as the writing on this series has bee alot better then both series eleven and series twelve have been combined in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as ell as all of the bad things that are in this very episode in this very review ad as such that really does mean that this very episode really does earn itself a grand l score of exactly a 7 out of 10 from me.

Doctor Who: Tales Of The TARDIS: Pyramids Of Mars SPOILER FILLED Review

Tales of The TARDIS a show that many Doctor Who fans can't see because of the fact that it wasn't payed for by Disney has now finally come back with a new episode. With this episode only being released because of the fact that the villain in this episode is also the villain in the series finale of Doctor Who series 14 and so then join me as I review the episode that came out just a few short days after a review of Pyramids Of Mars was very recently reviewed by me with the episode in question being called simply just "Pyramids Of Mars" enjoy.

The plot of this up is when The Doctor and Ruby meet up in the remembered TARDIS The Doctor starts to tell her about the time that he previously faced of against Sutekh. Now then interms if what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad with the episodes plot being very well done with the same thing not really being true for The Doctor and Ruby scenes which does make sense as those scenes are only bookends for the main story but at the same time given that this episode is featuring the same villain that's going to be featured in the series finale alot more effort should have gone into crafting a decent plot for The Doctor and Ruby scenes with the plot of the main episode being a really good plot which does make sense given that this episodes co-writer was Robert Holmes with the plot of the episode also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this episode is Ncuti Gatwa as The Doctor , Millie Gibson as Ruby Sunday and Tom Baker as The Doctor. Also starring in this episode is Bernard Archard as Marcus Scarman , Michael Sheard as Laurence Scarman , Peter Copley as Dr. Warlock , Michael Bilton as Collins , George Tovey as Ernie Clements , Peter Mayock as Namin , Raiders Of The Lost Ark star Vic Tablian as Ahmed and Gabriel Woolf as Sutekh.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about thew actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty really good. Which really isn't all that surprising as both Millie and Ncuti have both turned in some really good performances in both of there debut years on the show with there acting more often that not being the true highlight of alot of the shows bad episodes and it's also the same thing alot of the cast for the main story as well with the true standout in that part of the episode being Tom Baker who is just simply phenomenal in this episode and while the rest of the cast in the episode as aa whole do turn in some good performances there not going to top just how good Tom , Ncuti and Millie are in this episode as all three of them really do bring there A game for this episode with the acting for this episode really being helped by the fact that the script for this episode is just so good that all this episodes cast have to do is simply just say the lines as they are written and a good performance will come out of them naturally which is something that really does raise the overall quality of the acting that's really in this episode.

What wasn't to be expected from this episode was the fact that use some updated effects and remove alot of the episode original very cheesy looking effects. With the newer effects looking alot better then the cheesy looking effects from the original episode but at the same time tho there's a charm to those classic effects as well that is very sadly missing from the newer effects as the new effects look a little bit to polished and a a little bit to good when the effects in classic Doctor Who were never all that good to begin with and because of that they do have a certain charm to them when there done really well and while yes the effects in the new era of Doctor Who does look and Doctor Who should always have some good effects when your replacing effects in an episode of film and updating then you should at least make an attempt to make the newer effects look like they were made back when the original production was being made as that would help those new effects blend in more where as the effects in this episode despite them looking good and being a vast improvement over the effects in the original episode don't blend in they stand out.

This show is pretty much Doctor Who's answer to Mystery Science Theater 3000 in that both shows feature segments with there own casts where as Mystery Science Theater 3000 will feature the main cast making jokes of a full movie this show just features a full length episode of the show. With this show and this episode in particular doing something else that Mystery Science Theater 3000 does less often and that's feature edits to whatever it is that's being spotlighted in that weeks particular episode and while the edits don't effect the overall plot of the episode they are noticeable and more often just come across as feeling weird as unlike Mystery Science Theater 3000 which replaces those scenes with there own host segments with this show they don't do that and as a result of that is the fact that there's no need to remove those scenes in the first place as this show doesn't really replace them with anything thus making the edits made to this episode comes across as being rather pointless and are there just for the sake of being there and that's really it.

One of the major issues in this episode is the fact that even tho the episode does feature the fifteenth doctor and Ruby Sunday together again. It doesn't take the time to explain how there together again as in the last episode of Doctor Who they were quite clearly miles apart from each other and not only that the episode doesn't take the time to set up something that could be payed of in the next episode of Doctor Who which granted they didn't have to do but when your rebroadcasting the debut episode of a villain that you've just reintroduced into the show and your featuring newly filmed scenes with The Doctor and Ruby Sunday then it's implied that your going to be setting up something in this episode that could then be payed of in the next episode of Doctor Who and yet this episode doesn't do that as all it does is establish that Sutekh is now a bigger threat then what he was in this episode which really isn't needed as we could have gotten all of that just from the ending of The Legend Of Ruby Sunday and the start of the next episode it's not something that needs to established in this episode but what is needed in this episode is to establish how The Doctor and Ruby are now suddenly in the memory TARDIS and aren't miles away like they were at the end of the previous episode of Doctor Who.

As a villain Sutekh himself isn't really that threatening of a villain as while yes he does have a rather creepy look about him. He doesn't really have that much of a plan as while yes we do find out that he wants to destroy the world we don't find out why and we don't don't find out what he gets out of it with this not really being helped by the fact that the character spends alot of time just sitting down and not really doing nothing with alot of his plans being done by hos servant Laurence Scarman who is arguably a better villain as the makers of the episode at least went to the effort to make him alot more interesting and just as creepy looking as Sutekh was and yet for some reason despite him being the better of the two characters it's Sutekh who is the main villain of the episode and while yes it is easy to see why people would be scared of this villain as he does look like a creepy just because the villain looks creepy doesn't make him an interesting villain and because of that is that it's not that hard to see why this villain was largely forgotten about for the overall vast majority of the Doctor Who fandom as he just isn't all that memorable of a villain.

Now then this episode has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour and sixteen minuets and twenty seconds. Which is a bit on the short side for this show as an episode of this show is typically around the one hour and thirty minuets mark and yet for some strange reason this episode was fifteen whole minuets shorter when the episode really does have more then enough there interms of plot to really cover that large amount of running time as without the scenes on Ncuti and Millie the original episode ran for around one hour and thirty minuets and yet because of the fact that they made pointless edits for no reason we now have an episode that's oddly shorter then the original episode that's being spotlighted and because of that is the fact that the episode really does feel incomplete where as the original episode despite still being short in it's own right still feels really alot more complete then what this episode does but I really will admit that this episode really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this an action show that means that I have to actually talk about the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad. Which for classic Doctor Who isn't that bad as they typically didn't do that much action scenes when it came to the classic era of Doctor Who and as a result of that is that when they do have some action in any given episode they usually went as all out as there small budget would allow and that is the case here with the episode making use of model filming for alot of the episodes action with the action in the episode being alot better then what it really had any right to be with this being because of the fact that the action in this episode felt earned and served a purpose of some kind in the overall plot of the episode and wasn't just there just so they could have an action scene in this very in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall as a lead in to the series finale this episode really doesn't do all that much and kind of feels unimportant because of it but at the same time it;s not that hard to see why this episode could serve as a great double bill with The Legend Of Sunday as it really very easily could have set up things to be payed of in the series finale and yet it just doesn't which is something that really does let down the episode as a whole in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very episode in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very episode really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 6.5 out of 10 from me.

WCW Thunder November 15th 2000 Review

It's been a long time since a wrestling was last reviewed on here but it's been even longer since a WCW show was last reviewed on here. With the last WCW show that was covered on here was almost three years ago and well then I thought that it was about time to put that to an end as after years of trying to find I finally found the episode of WCW Thunder that I personally attended the taping of and so then join me as I review the episode of the show that marks the only time that WCW came over to England with the show in question being called simply just "WCW Thunder" enjoy.

There really isn't a plot running through this show which is the first thing that's wrong with the show as all it does is make this show feel alot less special and not really worth watching. As while the show does have some small stories running through it none of them are important and none of them add anything to any of the storylines that were going on in WCW at this point in time which is a huge issue as this show should have been WCW's answer to Smackdown and it should have been treated as such and yet it's being treated as a show that's lesser then the already bad Nitro which at this point in time was going down the drain anyways and it's because of shows like this that have no stories to the episodes as it doesn't give your audience to continue to watch the show and as a result of that is the fact that all this episode does is feel alot more like a filler episode of the show when it should be continuing the build to Mayhem in a more meaningful way instead of just mentioning some of the matches that are happening on that show which would have the add on effect of making that show not really worth watching either in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

The set for this show is really just one giant screen and that's really it and as a result of that is the fact that it makes the show looks cheap. Which does make sense as the company that owned WCW really didn't like professional wrestling and so would keep on slashing at there budget and give it to other parts of there company and this is something that really does shine through in the shows set as it's not really all that impressive with it also being the exact same set that was being used for Nitro at this point in time as well this is made even worse when you take into account that both of those shows just a few shorts years ago had some very unique sets that set each of the shows apart from each other and by giving the shows the exact same visually boring and dull set all it does is make both of the shows feel the same as well with the only thing different about them is what name of the show appears on the titantron and that's really it and it's not really enough either heck if they wanted to make each set feel different then they really could have done by making this one the default Thunder set and then having a more bigger set for there main show.

Set wise there's not really all that much to this set with the set having alot of dead space on both of it's sides. Which very easily could have been filled up with anything just to make it feel alot more complete as as things stand the set just looks rather incomplete and unfinished like they wanted to do more to the set but for some strange reason they just didn't do it and as a result of that is the fact that the set for this show really does suffer because of it as it looks visually dull and boring and it looks like the kind of set that you'd expect to see at a live show and not at a TV taping for what is basically your second biggest show compare with WWE who with Smackdown gave us a unique looking set that looked just as good if not better then the set that they were using for Raw at the time where as with set due to the fact that WCW was basically being made on a hope and prayer at this point in time and different have as big of a budget it makes the set for this show just look rather cheap looking and unfinished at best.

For a show that's being taped in England you certainly wouldn't know it as apart from having English flags on the show graphics and the country being named twice there's nothing on this show that tells you that it's coming from England. Which does make this show feel alot less special as usually when a big wrestling does a show in the UK they go all out with letting you know that it's in England be it by including things that are in England on the set and having the union jack flag be apart of the set in some way shape or form and they usually go all out by making it a top notch show and that's just something that this show really doesn't do with them just using the same set with nothing added to it whatsoever which oddly makes the show feel alot less special then what it really should have been but at the same time this is also something that does work well enough in the shows favor as it's treated as just another episode of the show and not a special episode of the show either with the episode coming across as just another bad WCW show with them not even trying to fix all of the companies issues that are in the company at this point in time.

One thing that was really annoying during this episode was the fact that alot if not all of the matches either ended with or had run ins in them. Having a run in happen during is match is fine for like one or two matches but when it happens all of the time in alot of the matches during the same episode it start to gets boring and predictable real fast as you can see how each match will end before it even happens and this sadly a running thing during the Vince Russo era of WCW and it's something that should have been stopped as it does more harm to his product then it does good and while yes alot of the run ins in this episode do make some sort of sense from a storyline point of view alot of them are just there just for the sake having a run in when having a clean finish either way would help the show out in the long run and would also help the company out as well but this is what happens when you give someone unlimited power and not have someone there to tell him no with that sadly being a very common thing with alot of things during the Vince Russo era of WCW.

To give this episode it was a really well put together show with alot of the surprises being genuinely quite surprising. However tho a few decent things don't make up for all of the bad things that are in this very episode as there really just so much wrong not only with WCW during this time period but this episode as a whole as the episode really does feel like that it was thrown together at the last minuet with alot of the things that are in this episode not adding to anything and are there just for the sake of being there where as if this show was well put together alot of the things that are in this episode would either be setting up things for Nitro , setting up things for Mayhem or paying of things from Nitro and not just do it's own thing which has the add on effect of making this show feel like a house show that just so happend to be produced for TV and not something that you could only see on TV with Kronik showing up up during a match for no reason other then to cost The Filthy Animals the match and that's really all there was to it.

Again to try and say something positive about this episode it doesn't really have that many pointless backstage segments. With all of the segments in this episode serving some kind of purpose be it setting up matches for the episode or be it hyping up matches for the episode they do at least have some kind of purpose and aren't just there for the sake of being which they very easily could have been and it would have been very easy for them to do so as all they'd have to do is just feature wrestlers that aren't going to be on the episode and that's really it but nope they don't do that as alot of the backstage segments do have some kind of point to them which while it doesn't make them worth watching and it doesn't improve the episode in anyway shape or form what it does do is show that whoever the producers where for those segments at least knew what they were doing and at least knew that they had to get some of the audience to watch the other shows and they do that by trying to create some good segments that could have the possibility to lead to future storylines should they choose to go down that route with them that is.

Now then this episode has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour and thirty two minuets and seventeen seconds. Which is a tad bit on the long side for this episode as this episode really isn't telling any kind of stories and it isn't really advancing any kind of stories and as result of that id the fact that this episode really could have come in at around an hour maybe even less then that and you really wouldn't have to loose all that much as not that many of the matches are important matches and none of the backstage segments are furthering storylines and as a result of that is the fact that there's no reason for this episode to be as long as it was and as a result of that is the fact that it just feels like that this episode was only that long because of the fact that all of the other episodes of Thunder are around that same running time as well and not because of the fact that the episode really needed to be that long as it really didn't need to be that long as there really was no reason for this episode to be as long as it was but I will admit that this episode really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is a wrestling show that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual wrestling that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual wrestling that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad. As there are some decent matches in this episode but at the same time tho given who is appearing in this episode the wrestling in this episode isn't as good as it really good have with the best match being Sting Vs Scott Steiner and even then it's not due to the quality of the match it self as it's more due to the fact that both Sting and Scott Steiner have had some decent matches in the past and seeing them wrestle each other does seem like idea but then we get to matches like the six way match for a cruiserweight championship match which should be good but because they don;t explain the rules of the match just comes across as being confusing in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this is an episode that despite being so close to my heart because of the fact that it was first TV taping that I went to really hasn't aged all that well and is a really good example of just how bad of a shape that WCW really was in at the time thanks to various groups of people in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very episode in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very episode really does ern itself a grand old score of exactly a 6 out of 10 from me.
