Star Trek: Deep Space Nine "Emissary" Review

Star Trek has spawned many a TV show in both the realms of animation and live action and while it's prime was no doubt really in the sixties. The franchise started to become really popular again around the nineties with there being three live action shows airing during the decade with only two of them ever airing at the exact same time at different points in the nineties and so then join me I review the episode that saw Deep Space Nine launch with the episode in question being called simply just "Emissary" enjoy.

The plot of this episode is Commander Benjamin Sisko is told that he is destined to discover an ancient home world by going through a wormhole and must discover it before a race of aliens called The Cardassian's find it and use it's power for evil. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty really good as the plot of the episode is a good example of just how good this franchise was and still could be when it's at it's best with the plot of the episode doing a very good of setting up all of the characters in a way that feels organic and giving at least one of them a really interesting character arc for the episode with the plot of the episode also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this episode is Avery Brooks as Commander Sisko , Rene Auberjonois as Odo and Siddig El Fadil as Doctor Bashir. Also starring in this episode is Terry Farrell as Lieutenant Dax , Cirroc Lofton as Jake Sisko , Colm Meaney as Chief O'Brien , Armin Shimerman as Quark , Nana Visitor as Major Kira , Camille Saviola as Kai Opaka , Felecia M. Bell as Jennifer Sisko / Jennifer Alien , Marc Alaimo as Gul Dukat , Joel Swetow as Gul Jasad , Aron Eisenberg as Nog , Stephen Davies as A Tactical Officer , Frank Owen Smith as Curzon , Lynnda Ferguson as Doran and Sir Patrick Stewart as Captain Jean-Luc Picard / Locutus Of Borg.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad. With alot of the episodes cast turning in some really solid performances but on the flip of side is the fact that we do get alot of really bad performances in this episodes which is understandable as this is the only the first episode of the show but with that being said you always want to start of with your best foot forward and that is something that this episode is very severely lacking acting wise as while we do get good performances from the likes of Avery Brooks , Colm Meaney and Nana Visitor for example however we also get some really bad performances from the likes of Cirroc Lofton who comes across as being more really annoying then cute and Marc Alaimo for example who really is just over the top but not in a charming way with the acting in this episode really being helped by the fact that the script for this episode is just so good  that all the episodes cast have to do is just say the lines as they are written and a good performance will come out of them naturally which is something that really does help the overall quality of the acting that's in this episode.

Doing the CGI for this episode is the legends and the greats that are currently over at Rhythm & Hues Studios and VisionArt. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented t us in this very episode well the in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us  in this very episode was in all honesty really good with the episodes CGI having aged really well as alot of the time it really is hard to tell what was done in a computer and what was done as miniature which does go to show you just how good the CGI in this episode really was with the episodes CGI being alot better then what it really had any right to be alot of the time as while we do get some dodgy looking CGI effects those are very few and far between with the episode having alot more good looking CGI effects in it then it does have some really bad looking CGI effects in it as well.

For those of you that don't know both this show and Star Trek: Voyager are set in the exact same continuity as both Star Trek: The Original Series and Star Trek: The Next Generation. With this episode having a few characters from the The Next Generation either be a guest character or join the show as apart of it's main cast with Sir Patrick Stewart guest starring in this episode and Colm Meaney joining the main cast and while having this connection does indeed make sense as The Next Generation was a big success when this show was being made it also doesn't work in this episodes favor as all it does is remind you that you could be watching a much more better show and while this episode does set up it's new characters really well it does nothing to introduce the guest characters which does make sense but again at the same time there will be alot of mainstream audiences that don't know these characters and won't want to watch several seasons of a TV show and a few movies just to get a decent understanding of who these characters when the episode could tell us who these characters and explain to us why these characters are actually really important characters.

To this episodes credit it does delve into some rather adult themes with the episode dealing with the themes of death and how hard it is to move on when you've lost someone that you love. This was a rather mature theme to take on as not alot of TV's would take on this theme and even fewer would tackle it in the way that this episode does by having what can only be described as not really time travel as Commander Sisko interacts with a being that doesn't understand linear time and as a result of that is the fact that he has to come to terms with the death of his wife and in doing so tech the being that humans and aliens deserve to live and deserve a second chance of life which is something that does work really well as it ties into his character arc of learning to come to terms with the death of his wife and learning to forgive the person the person that he deems responsible for her death that being none other than Captain Jean-Luc Picard which also gives him a really interesting character arc for this episode and while that arc would have worked better if it was stretched out over the course of the series the way that it was handled in this episode works really well as well.

While the episode does go into some details on the characters backstory not alot of the characters get alot of character development. With the character that gets the most character development being quite easily Commander Sisko who goes from wanting to leave Starfleet and hating pretty much everything that they do to someone who is willing to forgive Captain Jean-Luc Picard for something that he had no control over and couldn't help doing and while it is understandable that he would get alot of the character development in this episode it also would have helped the episode out quite alot if some of the other characters not only got some character development but also became alot more fleshed out then what Commander Sisko is as this is an ensemble franchise it always has been and when only one of the ensemble gets character development and gets to become more of a fully fleshed out character then the whole show start to suffer because of it as the us the audience now have no other reason to watch the rest of the rest of the show as none of the characters get the chance to come across as being interesting characters.

Now then this episode has / has an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour and thirty minuets and forty nine seconds. With this episode originally airing as a two hour premier episode before being split up into a two part episode when in syndication with the episode really having alot there interms of plot to really cover that large amount of running and the episode itself having enough story to justify being a two part story as it does have alot of things to set up like the location of the show the shows characters and what there relationships to each other will be in the series moving and it has to do all of that and still tell a good story and t wouldn't be able to do all of that and as a result of that is the fact that by giving in an extra forty five minuets it gives the episode that needs to do all of that and then some and while yes yes the episode could have used that extra running tie to fully flesh out alot of it's characters the episode does make the best of it's longer running time but I will admit that the episode really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So ow then as this is an action show that really does mean that I ave to actually talk about the actual action thats actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad by Star Trek TV standards. As Star Trek TV shows have never really had the best action in them at least in the early nineties as alot of them just had ships firing at each other and the characters reacting to it and that's also the case here but at the same time tho we also get to how thew action in this episode deeply effects one of the characters which does make it oddly engaging but at the same time tho we the audience do expect there to be alot more fun and creative action scenes in them and that's something that Star Trek was very sadly lacking at this point in time as alot of the action in this episode just felt very samey and not really all that new and creative at all in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall while this wasn't a good episode it wasn't necessarily a bad one either as it does good job of setting up all of the things that need to bet set up like the characters and the location of the series for example but at the same time this episode isn't the strongest episode to start out on either as the acting is really weak and the plot really take a while for it to really get going as well which does harm the episode as a whole in my freaking opinions anyways / least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very episode in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very episode really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 7.5 out of 10 from me.

My SPOILER FREE Review of The Knuckles TV Series

The Sonic The Hedgehog franchise has already conquered the world of video games and the world of animation and is starting to conquer the world of live action. With the movies helping to prove that video game movies can be great f given the right hands and well we now the franchises first ever live action TV Series and well you just knew that I had to check the show out the very first chance that I got and so then join me as I give you SPOILER FREE review of the show that is alot better then it really had any right to be with the show in question being called simply just "Knuckles" enjoy.

The plot of this show Knuckles finds himself the target for a group of government scientists who want to use his power and so must out run with the help of the hapless Wade Whipple. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very show well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very show was in all honesty not that bad with the plot of the show doing a very good of expanding the world of the movies in a way that feels natural whilst at the exact same time doing it's own thing and being's own unique thing and while the plot of the show does pretty much have the exact same plot as that of the first movie even down to having some very similar characters it is still a very plot that works well enough in the context of the show with the plot also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Also starring in this show is Edi Patterson as Wanda Whipple , Stockard Channing as Wendy Whipple , Julian Barratt as Jack Sinclair , Rory McCann as The Buyer , Scott Mescudi as Agent Mason , Ellie Taylor as Agent Willoughby , Cary Elwes as "Pistol" Pete Whipple , Tika Sumpter as Maddie Wachowski , Ben Schwartz as Sonic The Hedgehog , Christopher Lloyd as Pachacamac and Colleen O'Shaughnessey as Miles "Tails" Prower.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very show well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very show was in all honesty really good. With alot of this shows cast turning in some really good performances which really shouldn't be all that surprising given who is starring in this show and the fact that some of these actors have been playing there respective characters for decades at this point and would there for thus now how there character would react in any given situation with the franchises newer cast members more then holding there own when it comes to acting against the returning actors as well with the acting in this show really being helped by the fact that the scripts for this show are just so good that all the cast have to do is just say the lines as they are written and a good performance will come out of them naturally as that's just how good the acting in this show really is.

Doing the CGI for this show is the legends and the greats that are currently over at Outpost VFX and Rising Sun Pictures. Bow then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this show well the in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very show was in all honesty not that bad which is something that does make alot of sense when you take into account who is doing the the CGI for this show and the fact that the CGI for this show was done at the same time as the CGI for the third movie was done as well with the effects in this show really looking alot better then what they really had any right to be as the effects in this show really could have looked really bad and yet what we got instead was movie quality effects as that's just how good the CGI was in this show really where with the effects in this show being really alot better then the effects in any Marvel Cinematic Universe TV show or movie for that matter.

Without going to much into spoilers this show does copy the first film in alot ways due to the similar plots and the similar parings of characters. However it does something different from the first film by showing us that Knuckles is actually struggling to adapt to life on earth with him still training hard for a fight that will never come and by doing something with the Wachowski kitchen this is such a good idea as it's something that we haven't really seen in this franchise before and it gives us the audience the chance to see a different side to a character who might be seen as being very one dimensional as alot of people do struggle to adapt to new surroundings and seeing a popular video game character go through that as well does give them someone else to look up to as they'd get the chance to see how he copes with it and while the show doesn't go into alot of detail about this aspect of the show it is something that really does make the show standout from all of the other video game adaptations that are out there right now and its something that really does work well enough in this shows favor as well.

One of the few things that this show gets wrong is the fact that it doesn't really set up Wade's family all that well. With alot of them just being there for the sake of rounding out the cast and not because they serve a purpose to the plot of the show with the only one against that rule apart from Wade himself is Wade's father who actually does play a part in the plot of the show but his mother and sister don't play a part in the show and there meant to be key side characters and as a result alot more effort should have gone into not only fully developing these characters to make them alot more fleshed out as characters but they also should played a bit more of a part in the plot of the show instead of just having them do what they do in the show as that would make the shows message about family and home hit home all the more as both Wade and Knuckles are two sides of the same coin as there each trying to find a home and find a family and they find that with each other and with Wade's family and that message doesn't hit home when you take into account that Wade's sister and mother have next to nothing to do interms of the shows actual plot.

Unlike alot of shows that are being released on streaming services this show is only six episodes which is something that really does help the show out in the long run. As the show works best as a six episode mini-series as there's no way that you could get a full twenty two episode series out of this show not without really butchering it's plot and spreading it thin beyond relief where as here the show can just do it's thing and we the audience can have alot of fun with it and while yes longer shows do exist on streaming and alot of those shows do work out really well but that doesn't mean that this show really needed to be a long show with six episodes being the solid amount of episodes and while the show could have benefited from having longer in some aspects like fleshing out the villains for example who just come across as being fairly one dimensional characters and by fleshing out the family members we have to remember that this is a spin off of a still on going film series and as such alot of the characters from the show could appear in the still upcoming Sonic The Hedgehog 3 but with that being said the show would have been  a little bit better if the villains plan was at least somewhat original and not just a copy of a Dr. Robotnik plan.

Now then each episode of this show has / had an exact grand total running time of no longer then thirty five minuets with each episode typically coming around the thirty minuet mark. Which is a solid running episode of this show to have as the show as a whole doesn't a whole lot there interms of plot to begin and as a result of that is the fact that there's no need to stretch out the running time of each episode as by doing that the show would then run the risk of stretching what is already a fairly thinly drawn out plot even thinner and by keeping the running time of each episode as small as it is it then it allows the show to keep every single episode of the show by about pushing then plot of the show forward with there being very little to no room for filler and while yes we might get one or two filler moment in certain episodes even those moments can't be considered filler as they play a part in the overall plot and in Wade's character arc as well but I will admit that this show really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is an action show that means that I have to actually talk about the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very show well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very show was in all honesty really good. With the action in the show being just as fun as the action is in the films and while the action in the films will always be better as the films have the budget to do better action the action that we got in the show was better for the smaller budget that they would have had to work but at the same time tho the action in this show was alot more emotional as we only have to follow two characters where as in the films we have to follow several characters which can cause it to loose it's emotional impact where as here that's not really the case as we only have to follow to characters and that's really it and while yes the action in the films will always be better and have some really cool moments in them the action in this show was just as good and had just as many cool moments in this show in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this show is ten times better then both season of Velma was as this show respects not only it's characters and there legacy and history but it also respects it's audience as well by giving them something that's actually good and something that they actually want to see even if they didn't know at the time all which combine to make this show one that's really worth watching in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very show in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very show really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 7.5 out of 10 from me.

Velma TV Series "The Mystery Of Teen Romance" , "The Real Villain" AND "Til Death" SPOILER FILLED Review

Last year there was a show that was bad that people actually watched it just to see how bad it was ad well now the entire second season has been released. It doesn't really need saying just what that show as it's right there in the title of this post but yeah for some strange reason despite the show getting tons of negative review from both fans and critics alike HBO Max still decided to release the entire second season only now instead of releasing two a week like they did with season one they now instead chose to drop all ten episodes of the shows second season and so then join me as I give you my SPOILER FILLED review of the episodes that hopefully see this dreadful incarnation come to and end with the episodes in question being called simply just "The Mystery Of Teen Romance" , "The Real Villain" and "Til Death" enjoy.

The plot of The Mystery Of Teen Romance is just three weeks after finding out that Fred's mother was the one committing all of the crimes in the first season Velma finds out that now all of the boys are being killed of and sets of to solve yet another mystery where as the plot of The Real Villain is Velma finds some help from a new alley in solving this new mystery and the plot of the Til Death is Velma and the gang go to extreme circumstances to solve this mystery once and for all. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very show well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very show really was alot better then the plot of the first season but was still a really weak plot with the plot of this show season being dropped in episodes in favor of more lighthearted plots when they should be focusing on the main plot which really is understandable for episode one but they still do it in episodes nine and ten of the show as well which just doesn't work at all with the plot of this season being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that;s actually featured / presented to us in these episodes well then in all honesty i in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in these very episodes was in all honesty not that bad. As while yes the acting in these episodes is mostly pretty bad it's the acting from the cast members that we all know can deliver a good performance that really does save this season of the show acting wise as they really do deliver some really good performances in these episodes at least in the three episodes that this review is being based of off but with that said the acting in this show really is still painfully bad with the acting in this show not really being helped by the fact that the scripts for these episodes are just so bad that they give none of the cast alot to work with inters of what it is that there respective characters personalities are even meant to be in the first place which really does bring down the overall quality of the acting in these episodes.

Doing the animation for these episodes is the legends and the greats that are currently over at Studio IAM. Now the interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in these very episodes well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in these very episodes was in all honesty not that bad but at the same time it wasn't all that good as the animation is still just as ugly looking as it was in the first season only now the characters have slightly smoother and more fluid movements to them but that's really it and it's not enough as the designs are very off putting as they look nothing like the original characters with the backgrounds just looking very flat and boring and while the movements are a huge improvement from the last batch of episodes that doesn't stop the overall quality of animation looking really bad.

For some strange reason this show decided to introduce The Hex Girls who in the world of this show were an all girl rock band. With Thorn now deciding to open an occult book store with there being no mention of the other girls in the first episode nor in the ninth or tenth episodes of the show and as a result of that is the fact that it's hard to say what happened to the other girls but given that Thorn looks to be in forties it's safe to say that the band broke up for some strange reason which begs the reason why the show decided to introduce one of the three band members when they very easily could have included all three members and not have them change the fact that Thorn is opening an occult book shop heck they even could have kept Thorn's daughter Amber but given how badly they made Thorn look in the first episode of this show maybe it;s for the best that the other two girls weren't included in this show.

As for the actual mystery element of this show just based of off the three episodes that this review is being based of off. The mystery wasn't all that well handled as there are alot of things that are explained in a way that makes us the audience feel dumb for not picking up on them like the fact that they have Daphne and Velma get into an argument in episode nine only to reveal that was part of there plan to capture one of the main villains which doesn't make sense given what they showed us in the episode and alot of the mystery is done in a very similar manner with there being alot of leaps in logic instead of being things that happen naturally which is something that the original series did masterfully and yet for some strange it;s something that this show fails to do when given that it's apart f the Scooby-Doo franchise it's something that should be done as even in alot of the bad Scooby-Doo shows how they got to got to those big reveals at least somewhat made sense.

Even tho the makers of this show said back in season one that they couldn't include Scooby-Doo because why would you want to do a Scooby-Doo show without Scooby-Doo. There was one classic dog that they apparently got the OK to use and that's Scrappy-Doo who does make his debut in this season and just like the 2002 live action movie he's one of the villains with the other main villain being Sophie which again makes no sense given what we know about her character and while it's great that Scrappy is getting at least some love all you have to do is just like as his design in his debut appearance in the shows ninth episode and you know that he's the bad guy because he just looks like a bad guy and even how he acts which could be seen as a parody of the original shows version of the character with even his backstory being a parody of how the character was created it's still not enough to fool us the audience into thinking that he's not the bad guy as alot of the time he acts like a villain and not like someone that's trying to fool our main characters into thinking that he's not the main villain of this season.

Now the all pf these episode has / had an exact grand total running time of no longer then twenty six minuets. With episode one having a grand total running time of exactly twenty five minuets and forty seconds and episode nine has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly twenty four minuets and six seconds and episode has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly twenty five minuets and thirty seven seconds with it being episode one that has the better running time out of all three episodes as that's the episode that really does have more then enough there interms of plot to really cover that large amount of running time as both episodes nine and ten shove the main plotline to the side for alot of the episodes in favor of doing a more lighthearted plotline and yet episode one dedicates almost it's entire running time to the mystery and when episodes nine and ten do that they work and flow together really well as well but I will admit that these episodes really do have some really good pacing to all of them tho.

So now then as this is a comedy show that means that I have to actually talk about the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in these very episodes well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in these very episodes was in all honesty really bad. As the show doesn't have any funny moments in these three episodes barring one moment in episode one where Velma is texting Shaggy this long message only to delete it and re-write it with the message then saying just to ring her now which really was the only joke that was decently funny with the rest of the jokes in these three episodes really falling flat which seems to be a very common trend with this show as really everything about this show from it's plot to it's acting to it's animation to it's comedy ad yes even it's mystery just falls really flat with very little of the comedy in these three episodes working and even fewer really managing to get a smile out of anyone who watches this show as the comedy in these episode really just that bad and really isn't all that funny at all in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall while these three episodes are better then alot of the episodes in the first season it's not enough to save this show which just every degree is bad and needs to be cancelled so that it can be replaced with something from Scooby-Doo that's actually good but only time well tell if this show will be cancelled which really does need to be the case in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in these very episodes in this very review and as such all three of these very episodes earn themselves a grand old combined score of a 2.5 out of 10 from me.

Justice League: Crisis On Infinite Earths Part Two Film SPOILER FILLED Film Review

It's not uncommon for films to do a two part infact it's very quickly becoming a more common thing to witness. However this film is is doing something that really hasn't been done before now and that's tell one story over the course of three films all set to be released within the exact same year and well part two of this truly epic has just been released and since we have a tradition of reviewing these direct to DVD animated DC movies on the first day that they come out you all just knew that I had to review this film the very first chance that I got and so then join me as I give you my SPOILER FILLED review of the film that was released only a few months after the release of part one with the film in question being called simply just "Justice League: Crisis On Infinite Earths Part Two" enjoy.

The plot of this film is the Justice League continue to fight back against the destruction of every single universe while a new threat lurks in the shadows. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad but at the same time the plot of this film wasn't all that good either as it was a rather thinly drawn out plot with it at times being hard to work out what the plot of the film even but this is something that does make sense as this story is being told over multiple films and yet at the same time you still need a strong plot in all three films to fully justify this story being told over the course of three films with the plot of this film being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad. With the actors that you expect a god performance from really delivering exactly that with the likes of Jensen Ackles for example making for a surprisingly good Batman and while he might never become THE voice of Batman he still does deliver some really wonderful performances in all of the films that he voices the character with the same thing also being true for this film as well and while alot of the cast aren't that good with the likes of Meg Donnelly just being there not that's not really her fault as she doesn't get the chance to do alot as Supergirl with the acting in this film not really being helped by the fact that the script for this film is really bad as it gives the actors nothing to work with interms of what it is that there respective characters personalities are even meant to be in the first place and that is something that really does bring down the overall quality of the acting in this film.

Doing the animation for this film is the legends and the greats that are currently over at Maven Image Platform , Studio IAM. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad however this film suffers from what all of the animation in the Tomorrowverse films suffer from and that's the fact that the lines are so distracting and while that might be this worlds art style that doesn't mean that it couldn't have been tweaked as it very easily could have done but when the film does have some really good animation you really do notice it as the animation in this film isn't up to the high standards of the other direct to DVD DC Comics animated films but it still has alot of really good animation in this film.

There are technically two names that I left of the cast list that is the fact that Will Friedle is technically playing two roles as he's also reprising his role as Batman Beyond and we also have Matt Ryan as John Constantine. With both characters having pretty big roles in this film which does make sense given how popular there characters are and while we are revisiting the Batman Beyond world in part three it would be nice to revisit the world of John Constantine from the previous animated universe as that universe just came to an end with none of the characters apart from John having a satisfying ending and a revisit to that world would allow that to happen but at the same time that would then run the risk of this film becoming overstuffed with cameos from other versions of characters from other media and as a result of that is the fact that the makers of this film do have to pick ad choose which characters they have appear in this film as they have to service the story and not just be there for fan service.

For some reason these direct to DVD DC Comics animated movies seem to thing that they can only do one story with Batman and thats the fact that he thinks that he has to act alone only to learn that isn't the case. Which is a story that we've seen played out so many times that you know where it's going the second they start this plot line of and it goes exactly where you think that it's going to go but he got treated better then Supergirl who had so little to do in this film as for the vast majority of the films second and third act she just straight up disappears from the film this is despite the fact that they actually start of what could be an interesting plot line with her with her trying to find a new Earth to live on after the events of the first film but the film very rarely comes back to the character and when it does it drops that story all together in favor of having her trying and failing to help up Monitor which just isn't all that interesting of a plot line.

The idea of turning this truly iconic comic book storyline into a three part film is a good idea but at the same time the film needs to justify being a three part film. Which it really doesn't do as alot of the stuff that's in this film just felt like filler as they add nothing to the overall plot of the trilogy of films with this film film just being a feature length trailer for the third film when it really should have been the next chapter in the story with this film having the heroes loose instead of ending the film like they might loose which is a solid cliffhanger but at the same time given how dramatic this storyline is the heroes needed to loose in this film so that when they do win in the next film it's all the more satisfying because it's something that feels earned where as the ending for the third film where they do win now doesn't feel earned as the heroes haven't suffered all that much as a group whereas if you compare it to the Arrowverse version of the story they put there heroes through alot and as a result of that is that when it came to the final part of there take of the story it was all the more satisfying because of the fact that we the audience have seen these characters go through alot to pick up the win for once and for all and that's not we get in this film as in this film the heroes do kind of win by the end of the film when they really should have lost in this film just like they did in the previous film as well.

Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour and thirty four minuets and forty four seconds. Which is a solid running time for this film to have as this film really does have more then enough plot there to really cover that large amount of running time but yet at the exact same time tho alot of this film really does feel alot like filler as alot of it doesn't add anything to the plot of the film when this is something that shouldn't be the case as the film has alot of plot to begin with as it has all of the plot from the previous film and as a result of that is the fact all the makers of this film really had to do is just add to what they already set up in the previous film and not take away anything nor just not advance anything that was all ready set up in the previous films plot as all that does is make the makers of this film look lazy but I will admit that this film really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is a action film that means that I have to actually talk about the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad. Which really is nothing new for these Tomorrowverse films as pretty much all of them have had some really good action in them and while we don't really get a big final battle with all of the characters what we do get for a final fight does work out really well as we get alot of really cool moments in them with even getting to see Robin fighting the Tomorrowverse version of Batman which is a cool thing to see as that's something that hasn't been seen in these animated films until now and rather rightfully it is a wonderfully epic thing to see as is seeing alot of the characters team up to take on a big monster that is trying to blow up the earth that they are on which adds some drama leading into the final part of this trilogy of films as well as just looking really cool in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this film feels like it was only made just to extend the story to three films as this film really didn't need to exist and as a result that does make it hard to recommend as on the one hand there's no reason to watch this film but on the other hand if you don't watch this film then it makes watching the third film hard as there's really a chance that people might be lost if they didn't watch this film as well as the first film as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very film really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 6 out of 10 from me.

The Smurfs 1981 TV Series "The Astrosmurf" Review

The Smurfs really don't need introducing as there really just that well known of a group characters however what alot of people might not know is that there comic book characters. With the characters first appearing in books since 1958 with the story called "The Flute with Six Holes" from the comic book Johan And Peewit with the characters becoming more and more popular thanks to there nineteen eighty one TV series of the exact same name and it's an episode from that show that i'm going to e talking about today ad so then join me as I review what is technically the first episode of the show with the episode in question being called simply just "The Astrosmurf" enjoy.

The plot of this episode is when Dreamy Smurf announces his plans to fly of a another planet all of The Smurfs try to help him achieve his goal. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad as it was a rather simple plot which is something that is oddly fitting for The Smurfs as characters as they don't really demand a deep  dark and completed plot just give them something simple and let the character show through in the episodes plot something which wouldn't be able to happen if the plot of the episode was a deep , dark and completed plot ad because it's not any of those things the plot of this episode is also charming as well as being really rather entertaining and as well as being also really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. 

Starring in this episode is Danny Goldman as Brainy Smurf . William Callaway as Clumsy Smurf and  Lucille Bliss as Smurfette. Also starring in this episode is Hamilton Camp as Greedy Smurf , the great June Foray as Jokey Smurf , the great Paul Winchell as Gargamel , Michael Bell as Handy Smurf , Lazy Smurf and Grouchy Smurf , Ronnie Schell as Dreamy Smurf and the great Don Messick as Azrael and Papa Smurf.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad. With alot of this episodes actors turning in some really solid performances which given that this shows voice cast is made up of a bunch of really good voice actors that really isn't all that surprising as alot of them really do know how to turn in a good performance which is something that all do in this very episode even if it is hard to tell which smurf is which alot of the time with the acting in this episode really being helped by the fact that the script for this episode is just so good that all the episodes cast have to do is just the lines as they are written and a good performance will come out of them naturally.

Doing the animation for this episode is Dong Seo Animation , Luk Film , Sam Young Animation and Take One. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual animation thats actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad as it was the kind of quality animation that you'd expect to find in an early nineteen eighties animated show but at the same time the animation in this episode is alot better then the animation that you'd expect to see in alot of other Hanna-Barbera properties with that being because there not actually doing the animation for this series there just producing the show but it is still something thats worth mentioning as we see in other things that they've done they can do quality animation when they have the budget to really do so.

This episode is technically the first episode of the show as while it was indeed the first episode to air it wasn't the first episode to be produced with that honor going to The Smurfette. Which does make it hard to tell what the first episode of the show is actually meant to be as Smurfette not only appears in this episode but also plays a pretty big role in the episodes plot where as The Smurfette episode of the show is her introductory episode while it is hard to tell why the choice was made to make this one the first episode as it could be anything down from this episode being the first one finished out of the two episodes to this one having the much more stronger storyline it does seem odd that they have a character that technically hasn't been introduced yet and have her introductory episode appear much more later on in the first seasons run and while this doesn't really effect anything it does seem weird that this is something that would be done when it makes more sense for the The Smurfette episode to still be the leading episode in this shows first ever season.

The episode does go to great lengths to show you just how kind The Smurfs themselves are as characters. As they go out of their way to making Dreamy's dream come true which is something that they really didn't have to do and yet by doing that it shows that there all really good friends with each other but on the flip side of that is the fact that by having all of The Smurfs act pretty much the same it makes it hard to tell which smurf is which as all of the good speak the same with this being something that could have been fixed by having some of The Smurfs actively not take part in the plan to make Dreamy's dram come true but that would again have the knock of effect of making them not appear to be very good people and as a result of that all of them are pretty much forced into it just to make them all appear as a good people which is what The Smurfs are at there core as there the kind of people that we all wish to be instead of being the people that we actually are.

Despite being the franchises main villain Gargamel himself really doesn't have a whole lot to do in the episode. With the character really only appearing in a very small handful of scenes none of which are connected to the main plot of the film are there just to give The Smurfs an antagonist all of which feels like a really cheap way to use him as the start of the episode feels like that it's setting him up to be a main threat in the episode and then he does nothing but following The Smurfs around and that's really it which really isn't all that threatening of a thing for him to be doing as he acts more threatening to The Smurfs in not only later episodes but also in alot of the movies as well all while still being his lovable comedic self whereas in this episode he doesn't come across as being a credible threat to The Smurfs as he messes up alot of the time which wouldn't be an issue if this episode was a few episodes into the series run but it's not it's the first episode and as a result of that is the fact that the makers really had to make him seem like a more credible threat to The Smurfs very existence.

Now then this episode has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly twenty two minuets and forty seven seconds. Which is pretty much the bogstandard for cartoons that were airing in the eighties and while this episode really doesn't have alot there interms of plot to really cover that large amount of running time the episode really doesn't feel like that it was being padded out alot of the time as while yes the scenes with Gargamel could be seen as padding given that this was the shows first episode they also had to introduce him somehow and at least in this episode it does leave room for quite alot of improvement given how his character should have been handled and while yes it would have been great if the episode had a much more stronger plot line that fit this episodes running time by doing that they would take away that cozy feeling that just oozes out of this show but I will admit that this show really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is comedy that means that I have to actually talk about the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad. As the show does make use of slapstick comedy alot of which is partially funny but at the same time tho alot of the slapstick really isn't that funny as none of it looks painful as it just looks really tame which does make sense given that this show is aimed at little kids but at the same time tho it still needs to be really all that funny and yet the slapstick that's in this episode really isn't being animated to be all that funny for the most part as when we do get a really funny slapstick moment it really is a funny moment out of it in this episode in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this episode was a really solid debut episode to start of this show as it gives you a good example of what alot of the characters are like and what the status quo for the show will be like moving forward but at the same time tho it would have been nice if this episode had a really much more stronger plot line tho in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very episode in this very review and a such that really does mean that this very episode really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 7 out of 10 from me.

Batwoman TV Series "Pilot" Review

For some strange reason in the late 2010's and early 2020's Warner Bros thought that it was a good idea to produce live action shows that are in the world of Batman but not feature Batman in them at all. With the first one to come out being the show that i;m going to be talking about today as this show does also have the honor of being the only non Batman Batman show to also be set within the world of the Arrowverse and so then join me as I review the episode gives us a lame reason for not having Batman in it with the episode in question being called simply just "Pilot" enjoy.

The plot of this episode is when her ex-girlfriend goes missing Kate Kane returns to Gotham City to try ad find her and to try and find her missing long lost sister. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in al honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad but that's also the issue as the plot for this episode wasn't all that good ether with the plot of the episode being what can only be described as thin at best as while the plot does indeed get going right away it's also not a strong enough plot for the first episode of a new TV show as the plot of the episode just comes and goes whenever it wants and the characters spending alot of time not even advancing the plot of the episode with the plot of the episode also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

However the acting in this episode was all that good either which is kind of the thing for a show on The CW it is something that is still worth pointing out as bad acting will always be bad acting and alot of that does come down to the episodes director who quote clearly doesn't know how to get a good performance this is despite the actors in this episode turning in some good performances in other projects with the acting in this episode not really being helped by the fact that this episodes script just isn't all that good as it gives none of the episodes cast nothing to work with interms of what it is that there characters personalities are even meant to be in the first place which is something that really does effect the overall quality of the acting that's in this episode.

Doing the CGI for this episode is Encore VFX and the legends and the greats that are currently over at Splice. Now the interms of what I personally thought / felt abut the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty laughably bad. Even for a show on The CW this shows CGI in this episode really was really bad with them using an obviously CGI grappling hook for one scene when they could have done it practically and the shows projection was bad even for the small budget that all of the The CW shows have this episode had some laughably bad CGI in it and granted when you think of Batman you don't usually think of CGI which does make it all the odd that they decided to us CGI in this episode let alone CGI that looks really bad.

For some strange reason both this episode and Gotham Knights seem to think that what we want in a live action Batman TV show is for Batman to not only not appear in the show at the all but in the case of this episode have him act out of character when he does appear in the episode. As Batman would never ever leave Gotham let alone leave it undefended he would ask someone like Nightwing or Batgirl for example to defend Gotham while he's gone but nope in this episode he just disappears for no reason and while Gotham Knights does give a more understandable reason for the character not appearing in the show it still doesn't excuse the fact there trying to do a Batman TV show without Batman and in the case of this episode they have him act out of character as well as Batman would never work in the day he would only operate in the night so then that way people can't work out that he's Bruce Wayne and yet here in his appearance in this episode they have him trying to save Young Kate , Young Alice and there mother in broad daylight.

To this episodes credit it does try to do someone thing new with the episodes main villain by having be reveled to be the long lost sister of our main heroine. The issue is tho is that the show makes this reveal in the first episode when it would have been better of as something that was reveled in the first season finale of the show as by then we the audience would have had more of a chance to form a connection with these characters and want to see the hero succeed in bringing the villain down and it would therefor thus make it all the more shocking when it's reveled that the villain is also the same person that the hero has been trying to find for decades at this point in time and yet by doing it in the first episode we the audience are now ahead of what the characters know when we should be on a level playing field with them finding out these pieces of information at the same time as the characters are and not finding all of this stuff out before the characters are this just goes to show you that writer Caroline Dries has no idea how to write for these characters.

The episode and series villain Alice was a really interesting villain altho her constantly quoting Alice's Adventures In Wonderland did get very grating. As while it's fun at first and it makes her more of a quirky villain it's also something that gets old really fast and while she is rightfully insane and his an interesting backstory she doesn't have a plan in this episode which could be argued is the point as the character is meant to be a the very least partially insane think of her as like the female version of The Joker but at the same time tho even The Joker does have plans at times that match up with his goals and here since she's such a strong villain that could very easily push our main hero to her limits it makes all of the episodes other villains seem weak when infact it should be the other way with her instead being the final villain of this shows first season with her appearing only in select episodes in order to build up just how much of a threat that she really is instead of just having her appear in the shows first ever episode.

Now then this episode has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly forty two minuets and twenty three seconds. Which is pretty much the bogstanderd running time for these Arrowverse shows to have and to this episodes credit it really does make the most of this running time as given that this show does indeed take place in the Arrowverse it really doesn't need to spend alot of time setting up the world of the show but alot more time should have been spent on developing the shows main characters instead of just having them appear as being very note characters and the episode really should have spent alot more time in developing it's plot alot more as the episode really does have more then enough plot there to really cover that amount of running time and yet due to the fact that the episodes plot really does keep on coming and going it feels like it's a really underdeveloped plot as the shows plot does feel like it was really underdeveloped but I really will admit that this episode really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now the as this is an action show that means that I have to actually talk about the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in al honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad. As we do get to see Kate in some really cool action scenes all of which give us the chance to see just how good of a fighter that she is and it gives us a chance to see all of the fighting that she's learned while she was a away from Gotham but at the same time tho alot of this episodes action just felt exactly the same with there being nothing new added to them to make them standout and feel unique and different which granted there's only so much that you can do when it's just two people punching each other but there still needs to be something new added in to make them feel unique , new and different in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this shows pilot episode was so much worse then the pilot for Supergirl as at the very least the pilot episode for Supergirl was a fun episode that respected not only Superman but also Supergirl as well where it's the opposite that's true for this episode as this episode wasn't all that fun to watch and it doesn't respect Batman nor does it respect the character of Batwoman as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked abut all of the good and as well as all of the bad thing that are in this very episode in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very episode really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 4.5 out of 10 from me.
