Supergirl TV Series "Pilot" Review

When people talk about the Arrowverse they mainly talk about both either Arrow or The Flash and rightfully so as those were some really good shows. However very little if anybody talk about the show that i'm going to be talking about today as it is a show that should be talked as it made a mostly unknown character become alot more well known interms of the mainstream audience and so then join me as I review the episode that introduces a new hero to the world of the Arrowverse with the episode in question being called simply just "Pilot" enjoy.

The plot of this episode is when she saves the life of her sister Kara Danvers has to choose between living the life that she's been told to live or become the hero that she was always meant to be and save her city from an escaped alien convict in the process. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad as it was the stereotypical pilot plot for a superhero show but at the same time this episodes plot doesn't really do a good enough job of setting up the world that this show takes place in and while yes that does indeed make some sense as this is only the first episode you also have to lay the groundwork for the world building as well and while the plot of this episode does indeed set up the plotline for this season really well it is still a fairly weak storyline with the plot of this episode also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this episode is Melissa Benoist as Kara Danvers / Kara Zor-El / Supergirl and Mehcad Brooks as James Olsen. Also starring in this episode is Chyler Leigh as Dr. Alex Danvers , Jeremy Jordan as Winn Schott , David Harewood as Director Hank Henshaw , Calista Flockhart as Cat Grant Owain Yeoman as Vartox , Faran Tahir as The Commander , Ben Begley as Tobey , Robert Gant as Zor-El , Derek Mio as Hayashi , Dean Cain as Dr. Jeremiah Danvers , Laura Benanti as Alura Zor-El and General Astra , Malina Weissman as Young Kara Zor-El , Jordan Mazarati as Young Alex Danvers and Helen Slater as Dr. Eliza Danvers.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was n all honesty not that bad. As the acting that we got in this episode was alot better then what it really had any right to be given that acting in any pilot episode is very rarely if ever that good when compared to the rest of the series as the series cast are still trying to find there characters the very fact that we got acting is as a good as it is in this episode can only be a good sign with this being helped by the fact that this episodes cast a genuinely good bunch of actors with the actin this episode really being helped by the fact that this episodes script is just so good that all this episodes cast have to do is just say the lines as they are written and a good performance will come out of them naturally.

Doing the CGI for this episode is Encore VFX and the legends and the greats that are currently over at CounterPunch Studios. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad as these Arrowverse shows aren't really known for having fantastic CGI in the with this episode being no exception but at the same time given the small budget that this episode would have had this episode has alot more better CGI then it really should have had as by all accounts this episode should have had some really bad looking CGI in it and yet the effects in this episode look so much better then the CGI in say The Flash TV series for example and while the episode does have alot of painfully bad CGI effects in it the episode also has some really good looking CGI effects in it as well.

To this episodes credit it is alot better then the Supergirl as it does treat Supergirl herself alot better then what she was treated in the movie. As in the movie she was very boy crazy and was a bit of a clutz even setting the films plot into motion by putting her entire civilization into danger where as here she's treated with alot more respect as she's someone who is very caring and is someone one who does care for her family as evidenced by the fact that she openly exposes herself by trying to save her adoptive sisters life something which could put not only her life but also the life of her friends and family in danger as well and when she gets the call to be a hero she says yes right away as it's the right thing to do and not because t's quite literally in her DNA to help people and it's that kind of attention to detail that proves that the makers of this show have alot more respect and love for the character then what the makers of the movie did as the makers of the movie her fighting an invisible enemy which even for the Superman movies was just such a dumb idea.

While this episode does indeed make several references to Superman which does make sense. At the same time tho it's not really something works all that well for not only this episode but the episode as a whole as it doesn't really give Kara the chance to stand out as a character as we the audience are being reminded of this other character that we are all the more familiar with and while yes having him in this episode does make sense as both her back story and Superman's backstory are tied together he really wasn't needed to seen nor referenced after she got dropped of at the Danvers house hold.

This episodes main villain Vartox really isn't that interesting of a villain. As while he is just a first episode villain and therefor he shouldn't really push are main hero to her limits as that really wouldn't make sense as we the audience aren't really attached to her yet as a character he still needs to be an interesting villain and while to his credit he does have a good plan of trying to get revenge on presumably his villain friends by blowing up a plane that contains government agents it's that very plan that causes Kara to reveal herself to the public as well.

Now then this episode has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly forty five minutes and fifty nine seconds. Which is pretty much the bogstanderd running time for alot of these Arrowverse shows and to this episodes credit it does make the most of that running time but at the same time tho the episode could have been alot longer as at this point in time the show really wasn't set in the main Arrowverse and as a result of that is that it doesn't have that knowledge of how that world works to fall back on but I will admit that this episode really does have some really good pacing it tho.

So now then as this an action show that means that I have to actually talk about the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episodes well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episodes was in all honesty really good. Which is something that's not all that new as the Arrowverse shows had some really good action in it as well with this episode having some really good action in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall while this episodes wasn't as good as I remember it being it's still quite clear that alot of love and passion for the character into making this episode in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very episode in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very episode really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 7 out of 10 from me.

Doctor Who: The Power Of The Doctor Review

Doctor Who is now well and truly in the Disney era of the show with there being more eyes on the show then ever before. However there was a time just a few short years ago where really nobody even at the BBC was talking about Jodie Whittakers final episode of the show in the lead up to it's release and well almost exactly two years later I thought that now really was the right time to look back at an episode that really didn't get alot of promotion from the BBC in any way whatsoever and so then join me as I review the episode that technically sees The Doctor use up three regenerations in the same episode with the episode in question in question being called simply just "The Power Of The Doctor" enjoy.

The plot of this episode is with the Cybermen attacking London in 2022 , the Daleks doing something in a volcano in 20222 and The Master somehow being involved it's up to The Doctor to work out what's going on and stop it before it's far to later even if it's costs her her very own life. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well the  in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad but that's also the problem as the plot of this episode wasn't all that good either as the plot wasn't really something that's fitting for a special episode as there's nothing about this episodes plot that screams special episode whereas if you compare that to The Day Of The Doctor that plot could really only really be told in a special episode where as the plot of this episode could have been told in a regular two part episode of the show with this episodes plot also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured  presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty Ii in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad. As all of the classic returning actors slip back into their roles like they've only just finished playing them and the series regular cast have really nailed there characters perfectly with this being more evident in the cases of Jodie Whittaker and Mandip Gil both of whom have been playing there characters since 2017 however with all of that being said tho there are some bad performances in this episode tho as alot of this episodes cast members just don't turn in that good performance and while the returning cast members do turn in some good performances in this episode it's not as good as it really could have been with the acting in this episode not really being helped by the episodes script which is just so bad as it gives none of the episodes cast really nothing to work with interms of what it is that there respective characters personalities are even meant to be n the first place which is something that does bring down the overall quality of the acting in this episode.

Doing the CGI for this episode is DNEG ad the legends and the greats that are currently over at Real SFX. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad as this episode does have some really decent looking CGI in it for the most part as there are also some really bad looking CGI effects to be found in this episode as well with the worst offender being the obvious CGI ladder that they really didn't need to do as it could have bee done practically and alot of the painfully bad projection scenes which just make this show look really cheap as they really very easily could have put in alot more money to create some better looking projection shots and better looking CGI effects shots and for some strange reason the makers of this show just chose not to do that at all.

As of right now this is the last episode to feature a more traditional regeneration as the very next regeneration episode what we got was the introduction of Bi-Generation. With the regeneration in this episode being very underwhelming as there was nothing that really made it stand out and given that regeneration is meant to be very traumatic for The Doctor the fact that this version of the character just brushes it off by saying "tag your it" just goes to show that Chris Chibnall really doesn't understand Doctor Who as that is something that The Doctor would never say in that situation as a good regeneration scene should have a moment where the actor says goodbye to the character and where the character has to face up to the facts that there dying and while The Doctor will continue on it won't be them and that is something that is very sorely missing in this episodes regeneration and as a result of this is despite all of the pretty visuals and the shocking twist reveal it is something that lacks the emotional gut punch that all good regeneration should have.

While The Day Of The Doctor was more of a love letter to everything that was then New Doctor Who this episode felt more like a love letter to Classic Doctor. With alot of the classic companions getting alot of screen time which in some ways does indeed work but it doesn't work in others as lets be real alot of the people that are watching this episode wouldn't really know who these characters and while yes it is great that we get to see some classic companions come back and play a big role in the plot it shouldn't come at the expense of the current cast which it does feel like here as the episode has to find away that does somewhat make sense to get rid of Dan and they have to make sure that Yaz really doesn't get any more personalty as she has to fight for screen time with more interesting characters that are already fully developed and as a result of that is the fact that alot of the moments with Yaz that should work don't work as she been given no personalty all throughout her time on the show and this was the final chance to fix that problem and they just didn't as all they did was her fight screen time and have her be a big simp for The Doctor.

As a villain The Master is really well used in this episode and while his plan to take over The Doctor's body is something that the classic version of the character would do. It's not something that works well with the more modern take on the character as this new version of the character already has a regeneration cycle and so would have no need to steal The Doctor's body and while the episode does give him a good reason for wanting it in this episode as he wants to use her name to ruin all of the good that she's done which is something that does work well enough for this episode it's also something that's not really an evil enough scheme for The Master as this version of the character has destroyed The Doctor mentally as seen in The Timeless Children and has already proven more then capable of archiving his scheme in this episode as we've already seen him use his smarts in just the previous series he for some reason goes with a less evil scheme and while the characters is wonderfully portrayed by Sacha Dhawan he still needs a good evil plan to help to make more interesting of a character and that's something that is very sorely lacking in this episode.

Now then this episode has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour and twenty seven minuets and thirty eight seconds. Which is a solid running time for this episode t have as the episode really does have more then enough there interms of plot to really cover that large amount of running but the issue is tho is that even the episode does have this expanded running time the episode really doesn't take the time to develop any of it's characters nor does it take the time to let it sink it that this is the last time that both The Doctor and Yaz will ever be seeing each other as the episode just rushes past it and as a result of it when Yaz really does leave the TARDIS for the last time it doesn't have the same impact that something like that really should have had as the episode is instead alot more focused on cramming in alot of references to Classic Doctor Who when it really should have been more focused on tieing up this era of the show in a way that feels really satisfactory but I will admit that this episode really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is an action show that means that I have to actually talk the actual action that's actually featured / resented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty really good. Which is really nothing new as the action in the modern era of the show has always been really good and this is more evident by the fact that this episode had a big budget behind and because of that it meant that they could do camera move that they wouldn't have been able to do in the show and this is something that not only looks visually impressive but it's also something that makes the action in this episode feel like that it belongs in a movie as it really just all that exciting to see and is something that really is fitting to be a special episode of the show like this one n my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall while this episode is a really solid way to end what could be seen as the shows worst era in it's modern run but at the same time it's also one of if not the worst regeneration episode in all of the shows history as it lacks anything that makes a regeneration episode good in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very episode in this very review and as such that means that this very episode really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 6.5 out of 10 from me.

Mutant Turtles: Choujin Densetsu-Hen AKA Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Legend Of The Supermutants TV Series Review

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are a brand that while they were super popular back in the eighties and nineties thanks to various movies and TV shows. Are still popular to this very day with the rarest thing about the turtles brand being all of the odd little things that they've been associated with from live action PSA's to telling people about an LA travel system to even going on a music tour the turtles just seem to attached to things that are just really weird well there is one more thing that they were apart of and it's the very thing that i'm about to the review for you all today and so then join me as I review the OVA series that is to date the only piece of anime turtles media with the really two episode anime in question being called simply just "Mutant Turtles: Choujin Densetsu-Hen" AKA "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Legend Of The Supermutants" enjoy.

The plot so this OVA is the turtles have to defeat The Shredder before he and Krang unleash an evil devil to troy the world and the turtles have to stop The Shredder from finding a magical stone that will help him and Krang take over the world. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plots that are actually featured  presented to us in this very OVA well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plots that are actually featured / presented to us in this very OVA was in all honesty not that bad but that's also the issue the plots weren't all that good as not only were they very kid like but at the same time they also weren't the plots that people were demanding from the turtles at this time either as the first live action movie had been out for a while and had been a massive and as a result people wanted alot more darker stories told with these characters and yet for some reason we still got very light hearted stories not only from this show but from the American shows as well with the plots of this OVA not being really rather entertaining nor were they all really rather engaging either in y freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this TV series are Daiki Nakamura as Leonardo , Kappei Yamaguchi as Michelangelo and Hidenari Ugaki as Donatello. Also starring in this TV series are Hiroyuki Shibamoto as Raphael , Hideyuki Umezu as Splinter and Krang , Emi Shinohara as April O'Neil , Kiyoyuki Yanada as Oroku Saki / The Shredder , Kyousei Tsukui as Bebop , Hidetoshi Nakamura as Rocksteady , Rei Sakuma as Crys-Mu and Dark Mu , Tomohiro Nishimura as Hattori Kinzô and Kōichi Nagano as A News Technician.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very TV series well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought /felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very TV series was in all honesty not that bad. Which really isn't all that surprising as alot of this series cast are actually reprising their roles from the Japanese dub of the 1987 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles animated series and as a result of that id the fact that they would know how best to perform there character and what kind of performance would best suit there respective character in any given situation with the only let down from an acting standpoint is the fact that Krang's voice just doesn't suit his character in the slightest way possible with the acting in this TV series not really being helped by the fact that the script for both of these episodes are just so bad as it gives the actors absolutely nothing to work with interms of what it is that there respective characters personalities are even meant to be.

Doing the animation for this series is Bee Media and the legends and the greats that are currently over at Tsuburaya Productions. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very TV series well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very TV series was in all honesty but at the same time tho this TV series animation wasn't all that good either as it looked really cheap looking  with the animation in this very series looking like it would have been better if this series was released in the eighties but it wasn't it was released in the nineties when animation on TV shows in both Japan and America was getting to be alot better then most animation that we got in movies at the time and as a result of this is the fact that it's now all the more shocking that this series animation is as cheap looking as it is as it's something that really should have been fixed during production of the show and not being left as it is as that only make the show look really very cheap looking to both produce and to make.

To put it frankly this two episode show is just plain weird with the turtles now able to access another mutation due to the help of a magic stone. With the second and final episode of this two episode series granting the turtles the ability to add metal to there skin why all of this is indeed explained away in the show in a way that makes sense it's also something that's a stretch to far when it comes to suspending your disbelief as for all intense and purposes this show is a direct continuation of the 1987 series and yet even that show for as weird and as campy as it got it never really gave the turtles additional powers with this being made all the more worse due to the fact that this two episode OVA series was really only made to promote to two really different sets of turtles toys the first one being made to promote the SuperMutants toy line and episode only being made to promote the Metal Mutants toy line and while yes the original show was also made to promote a toy line the original show was really a bit more subtle then what this show really was.

As was just stated there are only two episodes in this OVA series which is a shame as it is interesting to see what they could do with the turtles in anime form. However at the same time with this series really only being made to promote two different toy lines there's only so much that you can do with that before you start to run of toys to include and as a result we are left with this what can only be described as a really odd series with this series bring something that really could have been better explored upon if it was given a full series akin to the Transformers anime series and heck given the amount of Ninja Turtles toys out there they very easily could have adapted any of the old toys and created a new series set in there world different from the 1987 series which would have allowed them to do something different with the turtles instead of just having them be like lesser and in some cases more dumber versions of there 1987 TV series counterparts.

All of the characters in this series are written so badly as for example April is written as someone who while still an alley of the turtles would never get involved with there battles with The Shredder. This is despite the fact that April would frequently get into fights with many of the turtles foes and helping them out in anyway that she can how the worse offenders are easily both The Shredder and Krang as while yes in the original 1987 series there were quite dumb and goofy villains they could at least get the job done when it mattered the most however in this series there both written as being really dumb characters which is something that doesn't match with what it is that were seeing on screen and have seen in the original series and as a result of this is the fact that it makes the makers of this show seem like they never watched the original show this is despite the fact that original series producer Fred Wolf is involved in this show as a producer and yet he somehow gave the OK to have The Shredder be almost as dumb and as idiotic as both Bebop and Rocksteady.

Now then the first episode of this show has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly twenty seven minuets and fifty seven seconds whilst episode two of this show has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly thirty one minuets and twenty seconds. With the series as a whole lasting no longer then fifty eight minuets with both of this shows episodes having some really solid running time even if the final five minuets or so of episode two is quite literally just adverts for either Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles including the toys that were featured in this two episode OVA which really isn't needed as while the second episode really doesn't have that much plot to cover even twenty five minuets worth of running time as it really is just thin on plot with the first episode fairing a little bit better in this regard as episode one does have alot of plot to really cover that amount of running time with both episodes having some really good pacing to them both.

So now then as this is an action show that means that I have to actually talk about the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very show well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very show was in all honesty not that bad. However at the same time tho this shows action wasn't as good nor was it as fun as the action even in the 1990 live action movie was as the action in both of these episodes doesn't really have any scene where we see the turtles working together with them instead mostly taking of different foes at the exact same time which really isn't half of fun as it is seeing the turtles all working together to take down all of there foes at the exact same time but when this show does have some cool action you really do know about it it's just shame that the action in this show is mostly really dull to watch in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this show is just as weird as you really want it to be and is a sign that the turtles really will attach there name to anything as long as it will all of the companies some money with this show really rather rightfully being forgotten about it and heck there's not even dub version of this series as this series is just that rare to find anywhere and is just that weird and strange in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very show in this very review and as such that means that this very show really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 5 out of 10 from me.

Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! "A Clue For Scooby-Doo" Review

Scooby-Doo is just one of those franchises that will never ever stop going with it being rebooted and retooled every few years or so. However none of the other Scooby-Doo shows or movies that alot of us grew up with and love so much would really even be a thing were it not for the original series as it's that original show that really gave us all the things that we still really love about the show and a,bout the franchise to this very day and so then join me as I review the episode that introduces another classic Scooby-Doo villain with the episode in question being called simply just "A Clue For Scooby-Doo" enjoy.

The plot of this episode is when the Mystery Inc gang see a ghost walking out of the sea during some time at the beach they take upon themselves to work out who this ghost really is and to solve the mystery of missing boats. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / resented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad as the plot of the episode was really interesting as even tho it just gives us the bare bones of a plot that's all you really need for a classic Scooby-Doo episode and that's something that this episode gives us in spades and while yes it would have been nice if you episode had a more stronger plot that's not really something that we crave from a classic episode of Scooby-Doo as all we want from this show is the characters acting how we know them to act and solving a good mystery with the plot of this episode also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in al honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad. With all of this episodes cast turning in some really good performances which was both really shocking and yet not all that shocking at the exact same time it's shocking in that this was only the second episode to air and about the third episode to be produced and as a result it would have been understandable if the cast didn't turn in that good of a performance as there still trying to find there characters but at the same time it's not all that surprising as this episodes cast is made up of bunch of really good voice actors with the acting in this episode really being helped by the fact that the script for this episode is just so good that all the cast have to do is just say the lines as they are written and good performance will come out of them naturally.

Doing the animation for this episode is the legends and the greats that are currently over at Hanna-Barbera Productions. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty really good for the most part as this is still Hanna-Barbera Productions and there are still quite alot of animation errors to be found in this episode with the most striking one being that for one full scene Shaggy's hair goes from being brown to being blonde as this is was early on in the shows production this is forgivable however tho it's really something that really could have been fixed be it for DVD releases or Blu-Ray releases or even when the series was added to HBO Max but it wasn't it was just kept in and it's really that kind of animation error that really does bring down the overall quality of the animation in this episode.

What was truly shocking in this episode is that they actually made Scooby-Doo to be quite a bit braver then what he normally is. As in this episode he takes on the The Ghost Of Captain Cutler head on which is something that he would never do later on in the shows run and yet he does it here for no reason with this being something that does kind of make sense due to how early on in the shows run that this episode was being produced but at the same time it makes it all the more weird that they would suddenly change it with no rhyme or reason and yet at the exact same time tho it's also something that does make Scooby-Doo work as a hero as he's willing to take down the villain head on because the villain in this case is cashing down him and Shaggy all of which makes you wonder why this aspect was toned down at best or just straight up removed at worst as you very easily could have gotten some really cool moments out of it just look at the ending to the third act of Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed for proof of that.

While this does make sense from one point of view the makers of this episode chose not to give both Fred and Daphne alot of screen time in this episode. Which again does make alt of sense as the makers of the show have gone on record as saying that they found those characters to be the most boring of the whole gang as there just very one note characters but at the same time tho it also doesn't work as they very easily could have used the extra screen time to fully develop there characters and make them more interesting and yet because of the fact that they were stuck in this mindset of having to very dull and boring characters that they didn't like that's all they ended up being when they really could have been so much more then that and heck even giving them more screen time in this episode could have added to the episodes plot as it could have given us more suspects which in turn would have made the mystery really all that more interesting and complex.

As an actual mystery this episode does fair a little bit better as the mystery aspect of the episode was really well handled. With there being more then enough clues for kids to work out who the culprit is the issue is tho is that they don't really give a good enough for the culprit to be doing what there doing as stealing boats as a form of revenge really doesn't make sense for who they have doing the crimes in the first place and it would have made alot of more sense for one of the other suspects to be the one doing the crimes if that was the motif that they were going to e sticking with but if not then they really should have given that character a better motif that makes alot more sense like maybe there's some money aboard one of the ships and they were hijacking the boats in order to keep the money for themselves that is something that would have worked for that character and doing something to keep the money is a classic Scooby-Doo motif that you can't really do wrong.

Now then this episode has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly twenty one minuets and four seconds. Which is a solid running time for this episode to have as the episode really does have more then enough there interms of plot to cover that amount of running time but at the exact same time tho if the episode was even just five or even ten minuets longer then it would have allowed for some character development between the Mystery Inc gang which would have helped not only the episode but the show as a whole in the long run as it would gave given us more of an insight as to who these characters are as people and not who they are as two dimensional cardboard cutouts and it would have given us the chance to fully work out the mystery for ourselves as more clues could be shown including Captain Cutler himself but I really will admit that this episode really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is a comedy that meas that I have to actually talk about the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad. As there are alot of funny moments that are in this very episode that whilst aren't laugh out loud funny but are at the very least cute funny with alot of those moments coming from Scooby-Doo himself like the scene where Shaggy and Scooby pretend to be a ships mast to get away from The Ghost Of Captain Cutler which whilst that isn't laugh loud funny it's a cute moment that does manages to get a laugh out people and that's the best way to describe the comedy in this episode as the jokes in this episode aren't always really going to be laugh loud funny but that they will always be cute moments that will get a laugh out of people in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. 

Overall this was a really rather solid episode of the show that whilst not the show at it's best as you can quite clearly see the shows growing pains that is something that's to be expected this early into the shows run and you can quite clearly see all of the potential that this show and this franchise does have in it in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very episode in this review and as such that means that this very episode really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 6.5 out of 10 from me.

Worzel Gummidge Down Under "Stage Struck" Review

Some shows have alot of very important episodes be they important because they add something to the shows lore or important because they take away from the shows lore or important because the shows key creative left the show. There are a ton of reasons why a show could have important episodes and while Worzel Gummidge never really had that many important episodes during it's four series run it's it's continuation series Worzel Gummidge Down Under that has a very important episode and so the join me as I review that sees the old writers be replaced by a rotation of New Zealand based writers with the episode in question being called simply just "Stage Struck" enjoy.

The plot of this episode is when the Ballet comes to town Aunt Sally finds herself being invited to watch them rehearse the show and Worzel has to try and get something to help Aunt Sally's flowers grow in her garden. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty really bad as the episodes plot was really thin at best with it being really hard to tell what the actual plot of the episode was even meant to be in the first place outside of the really brief synopsis as that's just how thin this episodes plot really was with the plot of the episode not really rather being all that entertaining and nor was it really rather engaging either in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Also starring in this episode is Stuart Devenie as Jeremy Carp , Maria James as Eloise , Ross Jolly as P.C. Peacock , Brian Sergent as Terence , Aaron Taylor as Robert Mahoney , Glenis Levestam as Lady 1 ,  Anne Chamberlain as Guest 2 , Kevin Wilson as Guest 1 and Sue Wilson as Lady 2.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad. As this episodes cast are a bunch of really good actors and alot of the have been playing there characters for years at this point in time and so they would of course no how best to play there character and what kind of performance would best suit there respective characters in any given scene with the show always having some really good acting in it even in some of there bad episodes however the acting in this episode really isn't helped by the fact that this episodes script is just so bad as it gives none of this films episodes cast nothing to work with interms of what it is that there respective characters personalities are even meant to be in the first place.

This episode is a really important episode in the shows history as it's first episode not to be written by series creators and writers Keith Waterhouse and Willis Hall. With the episode instead being written by oddly enough the co-writer of The Lord Of The Rings films Fran Walsh and you can really tell that they lost the main writers with this second series of the show as the dip in script quality is evident from the first scene onward as there are alot of things that either aren't explained or just don't make sense alot of which also oddly enough revolve around Aunt Sally as she is seen living in a caravan in this episode something that she wouldn't be cought dead doing and if somebody was to catch her living there she would make up a lie and say that it's not her place and for some reason she's she's given a human love interest which is something that also doesn't make sense either as she wouldn't settle for someone who directs the ballet as she would always want someone who is of royal blood and nothing less then that would do for her.

In a rather refreshing move this episode lets Una Stubbs dance as she was actually a trained dancer before she turned to acting. With her dancing in this episode being something that perfectly fitted the character of Aunt Sally as she would actually dance like how she does in this episode because she doesn't know any better and of course she would always stay at the centre of the stage because she wants to be the centre of attention but at the same time tho it would have been more better if the makers of this episode had her dance really well as that would be something that would take us the audience of guard and yet for some reason they don't do that they instead just go the stereotypical route which while it is something that works well enough for a kids TV show it is also something that is dull and boring as you know exactly what that character is going to do and as a result of that it would have been better if the makers of this episode had Aunt Sally be a genuinely good dancer.

For a show called Worzel Gummidge Worzel himself really has next to nothing to do in this episode with Aunt Sally being more of a main character. Which really shouldn't be the case as the show isn't named after her it's named after Worzel and while Aunt Sally works well enough as a minor recurring character she doesn't work all that well as a main character as due to the previous series we know that she really is horrible to Worzel something which now has be toned down because she's the episodes main character which means that she alot of the time has to act out of character if the makers of this show wanted to make her more kind then fine do that but do it in a way that doesn't go against what we the audience know the character to act like and don't do it by taking screen time away from the title character as that's the character that the audience keeps on coming back to see and are not coming to see Aunt Sally constantly flirt with Worzel just to break his heart and get what she wants by the end of the episode.

For some reason they chose to introduce a new character in this episode with them not including Manu for no reason whatsoever. This wouldn't be an issue if it weren't for the fact that they bring Manu back in the very next episode and if they gave this new kid character a personality as the only personality that they give her is that she's a girl and that's it which doesn't make her a fun character as all it does is make her a rather dull and boring character with Mickey being left to try and make the scenes that the two characters share together watchable and as much as the Mickey character can be a fun character he just can't help to make this character seem fully formed and that is of course of no fault of her actress as it's rather a fault of the episodes writer and it's something that should have been fixed especially as she's meant to be a new recurring character who may or may not be in future episodes of the show and yet the makers of this episode go out of their to make her a dull and boring character.

Now then whilst I cannot for the absolutely life of me remember whatever this episodes running tie even was I do know that for a fact that this episode has / had an exact grand total running time of roughly twenty four minuets. Which is pretty much the bogstanderd running time for this sequel series to have but this episode really doesn't have alot there interms of plot to cover that large amount of running time as the plot of episode is so weak that it just comes and goes whenever it wants which is something that wouldn't be that much of an issue if not only the episode was better written but the episode also had a much more shorter running time as the plot of this episode would have been fine if the episode was ten minuets long but as the episode in almost twenty five minuets long the plot really should have been alot more stronger then what it actually was but I will admit that this episode really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

Son now then as this is a comedy that means that I have to actually talk about the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty. Really bad as there really was nothing that was all that funny in this episode as while the show always has more cute funny moments in it then straight up laugh loud funny moments in it in this episode they don't have jokes that are really alot more cutely funny they just have the type of jokes where you know what the punchline of the joke will be before there even done with the set up for the joke and as a result of that all your really doing is watching characters that you love get butchered by a terrible script that really is lacking in jokes in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this episode is quite easily up there with A Little Learning as one of the episodes in this franchises history but while that episode had the excuse of them still trying the tone of the show this one really doesn't have that as an excuse as they got rid of two people who really did know what the tone of the show was and those are the two that really should have stayed on to make more episodes of this show in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very episode in this very review and as such that means that this very episode really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 5.5 out of 10 from me.

Iron Man 1994 Animated Series "Rejoice! I Am Ultimo, Thy Deliverer" Review

There are quite alot of animated shows that are based of off comic book heroes some series are fairly well known like Batman: The Animated Series or even perhaps X-Men: The Animated Series or even Spider-Man: the Animated Series. There are however some that aren't quite as well known like the show that i'm going to be taking a look at today as while the character that this series is based of off is now very popular thanks to the Marvel Cinematic Universe he wasn't always as popular as he was today and so then join me as I review that has Iron Man fighting against a giant robot with the episode in question being called simply just "Rejoice! I Am Ultimo, Thy Deliverer" enjoy.

The plot of this episode is when The Mandarin unleashes and looses control of the giant robot Ultimo it's up to Iron Man and his team to stop the robot before it's far two late. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad but that's also the issue tho as this episodes plot wasn't all that good either as it just gave the stereotypical superhero kids animated series plot and nothing more then that with the plot of this episode feeling rather like that it really belonged in the plot of an eighties animated show and not one that was made in the nineties as the plot of this episode wasn't all that strong either with the plot of the episode not really being really rather entertaining and nor is it really rather engaging either in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Also starring in this episode is Ed Gilbert as The Mandarin and Ultimo , Jim Cummings as Modok and Luciano Pavarotti , Tony Steedman as Justin Hammer , James Warwick as Century and Sam Jaggers , John Reilly as Clint / Hawkeye and Vacationing Man , Casey DeFranco as Julia Carpenter / Spider-Woman , Shepherd Girl and Vacationing Woman and Katherine Moffat as Wanda Frank / Scarlet Witch.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad. As the cast that you expect a good performance from like Jim Cummings and James Avery really do deliver a really rather solid performance in this episode as there respective episodes how it's the rest of the cast that just don't turn in that good of a performance with alot of them being really wooden at best and just downright bad bad at there worst which is something that really god bring down the overall quality of the acting in this episode with the acting in this episode not really being helped by the fact that the script for this episode is just so bad as it doesn't really give any of the actors anything to work with interms of what it is that there respective characters personalities are even meant to be in the first place.

Doing the animation for this episode is Encore Communications and the legends and the greats that are currently over at Rainbow Animation. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad as there was quite clearly alot of love and effort put into the animation for this episode but with that being said it's also quite clearly not that good either as there are some animation errors in this episode which could have been fixed very easily and yet for some reason wasn't and while the animation in this episode was better then the animation in say Fantastic Four for example it's still not as good as the animation was in Spider-Man: The Animated Series.

This is the episode that introduces the friendly rivalry between Wanda and Julia Carpenter as they each try to become Tony's love interest. This was a pretty bad down point in this episode as it's something that really doesn't play a part in the episode this is despite it being a fun aspect of both characters as it gives them something to do for the rest of this first season of the show despite being backup for Tony Stark but with that said they could have handled this part of both of there characters that little bit better as it's something that really does come out of nowhere and heck if they wanted to connect it to the plot of this episode then they really could have done by having each woman trying to outdo the other leading to Julia Carpenter confronting Ultimo by herself thus setting up the third act of the episode and yet the episode doesn't do that with this aspect of the characters feeling like something that wasn't all that well thought out with there storyline really alot more like an after thought and not like something that's an important aspect of both characters.

Out of both this episode and the debut episode for the Fantastic Four animated series this one does come across as being the worst one of the two. As at the very least the one for the Fantastic Four animated series was at the very least entertainingly bad where as this one isn't even that it's just straight up bad with the episode being very cutty cutter in that everything that you think is going to happen does happen in the episode with the episode doing nothing new or all that interesting compare this with Spider-Man: The Animated Series which aired not long after this show they at the very least took risks with more long form story arcs having six or seven part episodes or even X-Men: The Animated Series which would tell one story over the course of one single season despite having multiple single episodes stories as well this show however just plays things to safe which would have worked back in the eighties but it doesn't work in the nineties.

Ultimo in this episode really isn't that good of a villain which in this case is understandable as he is just a mindless robot. However at the same time we don't really get to find out why he's disobeying The Mandarin and MODOK as he just does it when we first meet him in the episode and yet they never explain it away when they really should have done as it's a key plot point as it gets the whole plot of the episode moving and is the whole reason why Iron Man is needed in the first place and yet the episode never goes into detail about it with Ultimo himself being nothing more then a mindless machine which again does make sense but we also don't really get to find out why he's doing what he's doing as he's just walking around the desert for no reason and yet for some reason he's treated as a big threat when he really isn't all that big of a threat especially when compared to either to MODOK or even The Mandarin for that matter.

Now then this episode has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly twenty one minuets and fifty six seconds. Which is a really rather solid running time for this episode to have and is pretty much the bogstanderd running time for this show to have but at the same time tho this episode could have done with being just a little big longer as that would then allow the makers of this episode to fully develop some of it's characters including the series main characters and to fully develop the episodes plot as well but this would also have had the issue of stretching the episodes plot even thinner then what it already is and when push does indeed come to shove the story has to always come first no matter how much time you add onto the episode if it effects the plot then it should remain as it is no matter what improvements could have been made if the episode was even a little bit longer but I will admit that this episode really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is was an action show that means that I have to actually talk about the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad. With the episode doing a decent job of showing why each member of the team belongs on the team but for some reason Wanda despite being the strongest member of any team that she's on really does nothing to help the team out action wise and even the show is named Iron Man and Iron Man is the main character of the show it's not Iron Man that takes Ultimo down it's Hawkeye which is in a way really refreshing as it does make sense as Hawkeye is there best archer but at the same time with the show being called Iron Man you'd expects Iron Man to be the one that really delivers the show that takes down Ultimo in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall while this show is better then the Fantastic Four animated series in some regards this episode is far more worse then the debut episode of the Fantastic Four animated series in alot more regards with the worst thing about this episode being the fact that it's both boring and forgettable in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then iv;e talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very episode in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very episode really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 6 out of 10 from me,
