Batman: Return Of The Caped Crusaders Film Review

 

I had such a good time watching and then reviewing Batman Vs Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles that it got me thinking about another campy version of Batman. That being the 1966 version and while it would have been super easy for me to pick out a couple of episodes and do a review of them I thought that i'd talk about the animated reunion movie that not alot of people seem to be talking about anymore and so then join me as I review the film that sees the dynamic duo take on really there biggest threat ever yet with the film in question being called simply just "Batman: Return Of The Caped Crusaders" enjoy.

The plot of this film is when The Catwoman , The Penguin , The Joker and the Riddler reunite and start a scheme to duplicate the entire world it's up to Batman and Robin to stop them before it's far to late. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really fun and goofy as all heck with this films plot really being the type of plot that you'd expect to find in an episode of the classic Batman TV show in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is Adam West as Bruce Wayne / Batman , Burt Ward as Dick Grayson / Robin and Julie Newmar as Catwoman. Also starring in this film is Jeff Bergman as The Joker and The Announcer , William Salyers as Oswald Copplepot / The Penguin , Wally Wingert as Edward Nygma / The Riddler , Jim Ward as Commissioner James Gordon , Steven Weber as Alfred Pennyworth , Thomas Lennon as Chief Miles O'Hara and Warden Crichton , Lynne Marie Stewart as Aunt Harriet Cooper and Sirena Irwin as Miranda Moore.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good with this films acting being alot better then what it really had right to be. As nobody really expected good acting from a 1960's Batman reunion my only gripe is alot of the actors that they got to replace certain actors don't sound enough like the original character which is something that was very distracting.

Doing the animation for this film was the legends and the greats that are currently over at Digital Emation, INC. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty alot better then what it really had any right to be but that just goes to show that for all those making this film that this wasn't just a cash grab of a film as alot of people working on this film would have been fans of the show and so they put in their best work as they would be working on something that meant alot to them growing up as children.

While this film does borrow a little bit from the 1966 Batman movie it does enough to make alot of changes that you can forgive it. As just like with the 1966 Batman film the villains of this film are The Riddler , The Penguin , The Joker and The Catwoman however tho instead of having be allies all throughout the film like they did the 1966 film this film actually shows them betraying one of there own which is something that a villain would do and it's that little change that makes all the difference as it shows that the makers of this film have a good understanding of who these villains are as they are people who have huge ego's and would thus not be able to work on the same team as each other for very long.

This film does make one change that really did bug me ans that's the fact that instead of having the entrance and exit to the Batcave be an actual cave the entrance and exit tot eh batcave in this film is instead ramp. Which for some unknown reason really did bug the heck out of me yes it makes all the more cool but if your doing something that set in a world that's already be established then changes to already established things shouldn't be made as the fan will pick up on something like that and while there are some changes made to the inside of the batcave itself it mostly looks like it did in the classic Batman TV show.

The makers of this film must have been really huge fans of the show because they really nailed the tone of the show down perfectly. With this film having those really over the top campy moments that made the show so much fun to watch along with having all of the things that we loved from the show from the over the top death traps to Robin learning a life lesson for no reason it's all in here and it's those things that make this film feel alot more like a passion project as only fans of the original show would include those things and know what it is that made them work and what still makes them work to this very day instead of having them just thrown in their for no apparent rhyme or reason.

Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour and eighteen minuets and seventeen seconds. Which was a tad bit on the long side for this film as this film does repeat itself alot of the time which is a shame because this film is hugely entertaining and I wouldn't have minded of this film was at the very least one hour and thirty minuets but I would always take a shorter film that has a story that fits it's running time perfectly then have a longer film that just ends up repeating alot of scenes because it has to pad out it's running time but with that said however this film does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is an action film that means that I have tom actually talk about the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good and was alot better then what I remember it being. As this films action was just as fun if not more fun , crazy and over the top then the action that we got in the show and it's during this film action scenes that the animation really does come to life in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this was a really fun filled that all Batman bat-fans really should check out and heck i'd even recommend showing this film to young kids to try and get them into Batman as this film is just that good in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that means that this very film really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly an 8.5 out of 10 from me.

Doctor Who: 42 Review

 

The third series of modern Doctor Who is one that for one reason or another gets overlooked by alot of Doctor Who fans myself included. Well I thought that i'd take another look from an episode of this show just to see if this series is worth overlooking or if there are more hidden gems then just Blink to be found in this series of the show and so then join me as I review the episode that has a really very on the nose environmental message in the episode itself with the episode in question being called simply just "42" enjoy.

The plot of this episode is The Doctor and Martha finds themselves stranded on a spaceship and have a little over forty two minuets to stop the spaceship from crashing into the sun and saving the lives of all of the crew on board it. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad with this episodes plot being rather simple but at the same time it lacks the emotional punch that an episode like this one really should have in order to make it fully work out for the best in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. 

Starring in this episode is David Tennant as The Doctor , Freema Agyeman as Martha Jones and Adjoa Andoh as Francine Jones. Also starring in this episode is Eastenders star Michelle Collins as Kath McDonnell , Where the Heart Is star William Ash as Riley Vashtee , Anthony Flanagan as Orin Scannell , Matthew Chambers as Hal Korwin , Vinette Robinson as Abi Lerner , Gary Powell as Dev Ashton , Rebecca Oldfield as Erina Lessak and Elize Du Toit as The Sinister Woman.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured /presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty really good. With both David and Freema turning in some good performances which is to be expected but what was';t expected was the fact that the episodes guest cast more then hold their own acting wise when acting against either David or Freema which only raises the quality of thew acting in this very episode.

Doing the CGI for this episode is the legends and the greats that are currently over at The Mill and Any Effects. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty a very mixed bag of affairs as we did get one or two good looking CGI effects shots in this episode but those were very quickly and very often followed u by two or three bad looking CGI effects which really haven't aged all that well.

From little information that I can gather about this episode this episode did go through some very minor changes from script to screen with the original name of the ship being SS Icarus. This was however changed when producers learned that the film Sunshine which has a very similar premise to this episode was going to have it's main ship called Icarus this is something that would have been a cool thing and I can see why writer Chris Chibnall included it in his script as just like the Greek god Icarus the human characters flew to close to the sun but at the same time it would have been a bit on the nose with it's theme if they did stick with that name.

Speaking of being a bit to on the nose this episode just like Sunshine also has a very heavy handed environmental message. This is something that could have been removed from the episodes script sand you wouldn't have to change a single line of dialog but for some reason Chris Chibnall really wanted to hammer it home what kind of message he wanted in this episode instead of doing something subtle and clever like they would have done in the classic series here tho they went the opposite and it is something that I really hated abut the episode as it really does come out of nowhere and it comes across as being really forced as well.

What I really loved about this episode is that we got to see The Doctor himself get effected by the same virus that has already killed one of the crew on the ship. As it's something that now says to us the audience that if this character can get effected then maybe other main characters can as well and so now we have alot more tension that wasn't there previously and having The Doctor openly act scared only hit home just how dangerous this threat really is which in turn makes the episodes villain all the more scary as there now making the one person who shouldn't be afraid of them in the slightest be terrified of them.

Now then while I cannot for the absolutely live of me remember whatever this episodes running time even was I do know that this episode has / had an exact grand total running time of roughly forty five minuets. Which is a great running time for this episode to have as the episode doesn't have alot there interms of either plot or story to cover a longer running and plus when you add in the fact that the episode has a ticking bomb element to it it means that every single scene has to be about advancing the episodes plot and still tell a really good story and I will admit that this episode does have some really good pacing to it as well.

So now then since this is a drama that means that I have to actually talk about the actual drama that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual drama that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad. As this episodes drama was really well handled as it was all drama that was really built up all through out the episode and it's this episodes drama that leads to Martha's best scene in the whole entire episode where she calls his mum as she things that she's going to die just to tell her that she loves her and while that scene clashes with the tone of the rest of the episode it was still a really good scene that's really well written and acted in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this was a pretty bad episode in alot of respects but it was also a good episode in other respects as well and is a good example of just how mixed this third series well and truly was in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very episode in this very review and as such that means that this episode earns itself a grand old score of exactly a 6 out of 10 from me.

Last Of The Summer Wine: Getting Sam Home Review

 

There are some shows out their that go on for so long that they get fans across many generations across many decades. With the show that i'm talking about today being one such show as this show lasted a whopping thirty one series with the show itself lasting around thirty to forty years well what not alot of people is that show spawned a feature length special and that's what i'm going to be talking about today and so then join me as I review the episode that sees three friends try to bring someone home with the episode in question being called simply just "Getting Sam Home" enjoy.

The plot of this episode is when someone called Sam gets into trouble at his girlfriends house it's up three friends to get him home again before his wife finds out. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad as it was a rather simple which is common place for this show with the plot also being really enjoyable as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this episode is Bill Owen as Compo , Wallace & Gromit star Peter Sallis as Clegg and Porridge star Brian Wilde as Foggy. Also starring in this episode is Lynda Baron as Lily Bless Her , Olive Pendleton as Sybil , Peter Russell as Sam , Muriel Rogers as Mamsy , Jim Marsh as Dadsy , John Comer as Sid , Jane Freeman as Ivy , Joe Gladwin as Wally Batty , Kathy Staff as Nora Batty , David Williams as Mr. Fairburn , Johnny Leeze as 'Our kid' Colin , Max Beesley Snr as Colin's Mate , Christine Cox as Cousin Olive , Ken Kitson as PC Cooper , Bill Croasdale as Police Sergeant and Tony Melody as The Voice Of Sid.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad. Which for this show isn't all that new as this shows cast members is usually made up of a bunch of really talented and funny actors and actresses and it really does help that the script for this this episode is so good that all the cast have to do is just say the words as they are written and a good performance will come out of them naturally.

This episode started the trend of having ninety minuet or longer TV specials of British comedies as before this episode the longest any special episode of comedy would be is sixty minuets long. This is something that for alot of cases does work as it allows them all to tell much more epic stories then what they could usually do but at the same time tho it also means that alot of the episodes just end up with a ton of filler that add nothing to any of the episodes but as someone who is a die hard fan of Only Fools And Horses it was nice to see where this tradition started as it is something that Only Fools did for alot of their Christmas specials.

Believe it or not this episode or film or whatever it is that you want to call it is based of the novel of the exact same name. With both the book and every single episode of Last Of The Summer Wine being written by Roy Clarke while the book is very sadly hard to find a copy of nowadays thanks to a review on the books Amazon UK page the book does expand upon certain scenes from the episode with somethings being made alot more clearer in the book then they are in the TV version some of which adds to certain jokes whilst others make characters and their story in this episode seem alot more tragic then what they already are.

From what little information I can gather this episode was always meant to be a made for television production. With star Bill Owen taking a copy of the book to series director and producer Alan J. W. Bell and suggested that the novel would make for a great TV special and he's not wrong as the story is more fitting for an episode of the show then what it would be for a theatrically released film as it's a storyline that's more in line and in keeping with the shows more relaxing nature both of which make it a perfect special to be broadcast over the Christmas holidays with special not really having anything in it that will upset or even really offend anybody whatsoever.

To me it's oddly entertaining that alot of people in the village no of this affair including Sam's wife as well. This is something that would be a long running joke within the show itself as the show did have characters that were having affairs but everybody knew about it despite both of the people having the affair trying to keep it a secret heck the show would introduce three characters not long after this special where that was one of their only jokes and it's a joke that still works as the joke isn't them having an affair it's how the husband is going to get caught that makes the joke work with this episode showing what happens when the husband is on death's door and still having the affair that led him to his current and final predicament.

Now then this episode has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour and twenty seven minuets and forty seconds. Which is almost three times the length of an average episode of the show with the show having an average running time of around twenty seven minuets and to this episodes credit it does make the most of that running time but at the same time it doesn't really have alot their interms of plot to cover that large amount of running time with the episode basically repeating itself around the halfway mark all of which just makes me wish that this episode was a tad bit shorter but I will admit tho that this episode does have some pretty good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is a comedy that means that I have to actually talk about the actual comedy that means that I gave to actually talk about the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in his very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad. With this episode and the shows humor in general being very gentle and very family friendly with alot of the episodes jokes still managing to get a smile out of me but at the same time tho there are some jokes that really haven't all that well but those are very few and far between in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this wasn't a bad episode of this truly iconic sitcom and it's one that I think alot of British will love and that alot of Americans will feel very in different towards in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very episode in this very review and as such that means that this very episode earns itself a grand old score of exactly a 9 out of 10 from me.

Batman Vs Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Film Review

Both Batman and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have been in so many movies that it would be understandable if you forgot about some of them. Well there was a movie released just a few short years ago that proved that the two franchises can make a pretty decent crossover movie and that it's that very movie that i'm about to review fro you all today and so then join me as I review the movie that sees the Batman family team up with the turtles with the film in question being called simply just "Batman Vs Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" enjoy.

The plot of this film is when the turtles find themselves in Gotham City they have to team up with Batman , Robin and Batgirl to stop The Shredder and Ra's al Ghul from destroying Gotham City for good. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good with this plot being nothing more then just pure dumb fun but in all of the right ways in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. With all of this films cast members turning in some really good performances which isn't a surprise for the more experienced cast members but given that they cast relative unknowns for the all of the turtles characters the fact that they did turn in a good performance and hold their own with their more experienced cast members is a shocking thing indeed.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty alot better then  what it really had any right to be as this very easily could have been a cheap and easy to make cash grab and nothing more then that but the fact that the animation in this film is so good just says that the team making this movie wanted to make a genuinely good film.

There is something that really bugged me about this film and that's the fact that they never once explained how the turtles and Shredder got to this dimension. This is something that they really should have done as the whole idea behind this film is these two heroes meeting for the first time and so explaining how the turtles , The Shredder and Baxter Stockman came to New York is something that would have helped the film out quite alot even more so when you take into account The Shredder's plan for this film has him trying to wipe out Gotham City with tech that isn't from Batman's dimension in the first place.

The turtles in this film were really entertaining with them really getting alot of the films more bigger laughs. While alot of what they said and did that got laughs out me personally were references to other turtles media it felt very in keeping with their characters and the fact that we got to see alot of really fun and in most often cases funny interactions as well with characters that we don't normally get to see talking to one another made them all the more funnier and while I would have liked it if the turtles were a bit more serious in this film given the situation the fact that they were over the top and campy in some places felt very fitting given just how popular the 1987 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles animated series was and still is.

I really loved that we got to see what alot of Batman's villains would look like if they got mutated with alot of them having mutations that fitted their characters. While there are some that have mutations that don't make sense for their character like Bane for example is mutated into a I think a cheetah which would make sense for Cheetah but it's not a mutation that makes sense for Bane with a better mutation for him being something like a lion or a bear for example but that is a very minor nitpick with alot of the mutations being very fun wit all giving us a really unique look on alot of the more classic Batman villains.

Now then this film has / had a exact grand total running time of exactly one hour and twenty seven minuets and eight seconds. Which I will admit is a bit of a long running time for his film to have as the storyline doesn't really demand a longer running time in order to do it justice and as such we do get alot of scenes that go nowhere and add nothing to the overall plot of the film as well as two finale's which really isn't needed but given just how fun this film is this film having a longer running time is something that I can very easily look past as this is a fun film and I will admit that this film does have some really good pacing to it.

So now then as this is an action film that means that I have to actually talk about the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. With thus films action being one of the moments of when this film is at it's most fun to watch and it will always be cool seeing Batman taking on The Shredder or seeing Batman and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles team up to do a really cool looking move in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall if your looking for a really fun crossover movie then you really can't go wrong with this film as this film is one that's sure to please fans of both respective franchises in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. My SPOILER FILLED First Impressions of The One Piece Live Action TV Series

 

Nine times out of ten when an anime is given a live action TV series adaptation it usually ends up being pretty bad. However every once in a while there is a property that gives us all hope that this will be the one that bucks the trend and is an actually good adaptation well one such adaptation has just been released and I thought that i'd check it out and so then join me as I give my SPOILER FILLED first impressions of the shows that promises to be an actually good live action anime adaptation with the show in question being called simply just "One Piece" enjoy.

The plot of these first two episodes is young pirate gathers a crew to look for an ancient map that will lead to a mythical treasure all the while trying to escape a pirate with a grudge to bear. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in these first two episodes well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in these first two episodes was in all honesty not that bad with both of the episodes plots being really enjoyable altho I will admit that episode one did have the stronger plot in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in these first two episodes is Iñaki Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy , Mackenyu as Roronoa Zoro and Emily Rudd as Nami. Also starring in these first two episodes is Vincent Regan as Vice Admiral Garp , Morgan Davies as Koby , Peter Gadiot as "Red-Haired" Shanks , Ilia Isorelýs Paulino as Alvida , Aidan Scott as Helmeppo , Langley Kirkwood as "Axe-Hand" Morgan and Jeff Ward as Buggy The Clown.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in these first two episodes well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in these first two episodes was in all honesty not that bad. While was kind of what I was expecting from this show as the acting in any anime live action adaptation is usually not that good and while the acting in these first two episodes is miles better then the acting that we got in say Dragonball Evolution for example it's also not as good as it should or even could have been

For once I have no idea who is providing the CGI for this show as there's no effects company listed anywhere online. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in these very episodes well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in these very episodes was in all honesty alot better then what it really had any right to be with this shows CGI honestly being movie quality in alot of places as it was that good but with that said when you do get a bad looking CGI effect you really do notice it.

The producers of this show are the exact same producers who produced that good awful Cowboy Bebop adaptation. However they openly admitted that for this adaptation that there giving the fans of the manga and anime the characters as they expect them to be and not changing them in the slightest and guess what it actually works and judging by the reviews alot of the people actually like that they did this as it shows that they respected the source material which is something that they quite clearly didn't do when they were adapting Cowboy Bebop and it also helps that One Piece's creator Eiichiro Oda was heavily involved with the production where as the creator of Cowboy Bebop was kept as far away from that production as they possibly could do and that is something that really did show in everything that came from that show from the marketing to the interviews to final show itself.

I can't be the only one that's noticed this but for me the character of Buggy The Clown is pretty much One Piece's version of The Joker. This is something that came across quite strongly in both of his episodes of this show with his first episode portraying him as a sinister villain who is o be feared with his second and so far final episode showing just how insane he is with him burning down an entire town just because he could do which is something that you could see The Joker himself doing and on top of that just like The Joker he has a connection to our main heroes past in someway shape or form which does link them to our man hero possibly forever.

What I really loved about the first two episodes is the fact that they showed that this group isn't willing to work together for the most part. Even going as far to showing Nami portraying the group at the end of episode two which shows that the group is going to have some trust issues going into the shows midway point and beyond which is something that I really liked as it means that the characters have to grow with each other and aren't instantly best friends like alot of bad live action anime adaptations would do with their respective characters and that's the kind of love and attention that you'd only get if you had the original creator helping you out and you actually taking his notes onboard and making your script and show much more better in the process as it actually respect the source material that you show is based of off.

Now then episode one of this show has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour and four minuets and twenty four seconds whilst episode two has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly fifty five minuets and twenty seven seconds. With episode one having the better running time just because those extra ten minuets really did allow for the episodes story to breathe alot more which is something that just isn't the case for episode two where you don;t have the time to fully take in what your seeing because the episode if busy rushing of to do the next plot relevant thing but I will admit that out of the two episodes episode two had the better pacing tho.

So now then as this is an action show that means that I have to actually talk about the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in these very episodes well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in these first two episodes was in all honesty really good. With the action in these first two episodes feeling like that they were ripped right out of the anime and this is coming from someone who has never seen and episode of the anime nor read a chapter of the manga with this episodes action just being fun with it giving us a really good chance to see what each of the characters in this show bring to the crew in any given situation in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this show is perhaps the first good live action American TV anime adaptation with these first two episodes just being fun to watch with the characters that your meant to like being likable as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in these very episodes in this very post and since this is only my first impressions I won't be giving this show a rating however if I ever feel the need to check out the rest of this shows first season which considering each episode is an hour long and there eight episodes doesn't seem all the likely to happen anytime soon.

Red Dwarf "Trojan" Review

 

There are some shows that have a huge cut following no matter what genre they are apart of by they a comedy or a science fiction show there's just something about them that people love. With the same thing also being true for the show that i'm going to be talking about today which is also a show that I haven't really talked about in a while and i'm not going to lie that's not going to change anytime soon and so then join me as I review the episode that saw the boys from the dwarf return to a weekly TV series with the episode in question being called simply just "Trojan" enjoy.

The plot of the episode is when Red Dwarf picks up a distress call from Rimmer's seemingly more successful brother Rimmer , Kryten , Lister and Cat have to save him and his simulant companion. Now then inter,s of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad with this episodes plot being rather enjoyable and easy to follow along with in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this episode is Robot Wars and Takeshi's Castle host Craig Charles as Dave Lister and The Brittas Empire star Chris Barrie as Arnold Rimmer. Also starring in this episode is Danny John-Jules as Cat , Robert Llewellyn as Kryten , Mark Dexter as Howard Rimmer , Susan Earl as Sim Crawford , Lucy Newman-Williams as All Droid Jayne and the Phone Droid Voice , Bryan Bounds as All Droid Bob and the Phone Droid Voice , Laurence Bouvard as the Phone Droid Voice and Rupert Degas as the Phone Droid Voice.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty really good. Which isn't all that shocking as the four main leads have been playing their respective characters for decades at this point and so they would know what performance would best suit there characters at any given time what was shocking however was the fact that the guest cast for this episode also turned in some really solid performances as well with the guest cast more then holding their own when acting opposite the returning cast members which couldn't have been an easy thing to do and yet they do it wonderfully in this episode.

I will admit that I loved seeing Rimmer interact with his brother as it gave us a chance to see just how smug this character can be. Which was something that I really liked as that's very true to Rimmer's character at least this version of Rimmer and to see him and the crew just pulling of this entire charade just impress someone who is ultimately the exact same level as Rimmer just makes there whole interactions even more hysterical as it then becomes a case of one trying to outdo the other without letting on to the other person that that's what it is that there trying to do which is just genius screenwriting.  

With this episode we also saw the return of the show being filmed infront of a live studio audience which is something that really does make all the difference. As this is the kind of show that is made to be performed infront of a live studio audience and while it does limit what kind of camera moves that you can do it also lets you know what jokes are working and which ones aren't which luckily for this show series alot of it's jokes do work and you can tell that the cast love performing infront of an audience as well and I really do hope that for any future series or special that they keep the live audience just to make it feel alot more like Red Dwarf and alot less like any other science fiction comedy show out there.

This episode saw the team take a more back to basics approach with making the show whilst also including something that they didn't include in any of the previous series. With this new series only retaining the four main lead characters and no other recurring character from the previous series and also introducing subplots to the series with this episodes subplot really being really enjoyable but I would have liked if the Lister subplot tied into the main plot in someway just to make things a little bit more coherent but as it is the shows first subplot wasn't that bad and as was really entertaining as it led to one of the biggest laughs of the episode for me. 

I will admit that I didn't like this episodes surprise villain as it's something that wasn't really built up all that well at all. While we are given a reason as to why this episodes villain is the way that they are this episodes villain is taken out far to easily and really isn't all that creepy of a villain which is a shame because the idea behind this villain and what there end goal is is a really good idea it's just that the character doesn't have alot of dialog before there big reveal and so we don't really get the chance to know if something is up with this character and s when the big reveal does happen it comes out of nowhere.

Now then while I cannot for the absolutely life of me remember whatever this episodes running time even was I do know that for a fact this episode has / had an exact grand total running time of roughly twenty nine minuets. Which from what I remember is pretty much the bogstanderd running time for this show and to this episodes credit it does have more then enough there interms of either plot or story to cover that large amount of running time I do wish that the episode was a tad bit longer as I was having such a good time with this episode but on the flip side of that if this episode was longer then it would be stretching a thin story even thinner but I will admit tho that this episode really does have some good pacing to it.

So now then as this is a comedy that means that I have to actually talked about the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty really good. With this episode having alot of painfully funny laugh out loud moments with this episode having far to many funny moments to even count and it really does help that alot of this episodes jokes are really well written and comes across as being very character driven as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this episode was a great return to the boys from the dwarf as it is an episode that is just filled to the brim with painfully moments which will make alot of people laugh out loud and laugh hard as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very episode in this very review and as such that means that this very episode really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly an 8 out of 10 from me.

The New Scooby-Doo Movies: Wednesday Is Missing Review

 

Scooby-Doo as a franchise has been going on since the nineteen sixties with the franchise rarely crossing over with properties. Well just in the franchises second incarnation there was a series that did just that every single and as it's been a good few years since I last looked at an episode from Scooby-Doo I thought that it was about to time to tackle another episode and so then join me as I review the episode that see's Scooby and the gang meet up with some creepy , spooky and all together ookey bunch of characters with the episode in question being called simply just "Wednesday Is Missing" enjoy.

The plot of the episode is Scooby and the gang are hired by The Addams Family to be house keepers while Gomez and Morticia go on a second honeymoon and have to find Wednesday who mysteriously goes missing. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad with this episodes plot being very entertaining and very engaging in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this episode is Don Messick as Scooby-Doo , Casey Casem as Shaggy Rogers and Frank Welker as Fred Jones. Also starring in this episode is Nicole Jaffe as Velma Dinkley , Heather North as Daphne Blake , John Astin as Gomez Addams , Carolyn Jones as Morticia Addams , Jodie Foster as Pugsley Addams , Cindy Henderson as Wednesday Addams , voice acting legend Janet Waldo as Granny Frump / Grandmama , Jackie Coogan as Uncle Fester , Ted Cassidy as Lurch and Felix Silla as Cousin Itt.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad. Which isn't all that surprising as all of this episodes cast members have been playing their respective characters for some years with the same thing not necessary being true for the kids actors who while not bad can't hold a candle to their adult cast mates and instead just come across as being rather flat and boring. 

Doing the animation for this episode is of course the legends and the greats that are currently over at Hanna-Barbera Productions. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad altho there were some really very noticeable animation errors like Gomez's eyebrows disappearing and reappearing again among many others which really does bring down the overall quality of the animation in this very episode.

While this episode does feature The Addams Family it also serves more of a continuation of the live action The Addams Family series then it does being it's own unique take on the family. This is most evident in the fact that several of that shows stars reprise there roles for this episode with the most noticeable absences being Lisa Loring and Ken Weatherwax who were replaced for being two old to play Wednesday and Pugsley respectively which is a casting choice that I don't agree with as they were key actors from the original show and as they would have been voicing the characters it really doesn't matter if their older or not as they still might have sounded younger then what they actually were in real life.

In a rather odd move this is the only episode that hasn't been included on any official DVD release of this show thank to the Charles Addams estate blocking all uses of the episode on home media. The episode did see a very few and rare releases on VHS back in the nineties but that's really it and because of that this show can never have a full series release and while I don't know why his estate are blocking the use of this episode on home media I find it odd that they wouldn't want to see Charles Addams most famous creations on an official release of what surely most be the worlds longest on going franchise as that is a great way to get kids today interested in the The Addams Family in a more family friendly way that also really respects the family as a whole.

The mystery aspect of this episode was perhaps this episodes weakest aspect as it's painfully obvious who the main villains of this episode are as there only other characters that we meet outside of the main characters. Which makes me wonder why they just didn't include more main characters just to make it more of an actual mystery not really helping things is the fact that this episode doesn't really give us any clues as to who this episodes main villain even is which means that we the audience can't even work out for ourselfs who the main villain ll of which make me wonder why they bothered to include a mystery as just the mystery of where Wednesday is is more then enough to sustain this episode and they don't really need another more weaker mystery on top of all of that.

Now then this episode has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly forty one minuets and nineteen seconds. Which if my memory serves me correctly is pretty much the bogstanderd running time for this show however with that being said this episode really doesn't have alot their interms of either plot or story to cover that large amount of running time with this episode really only having enough plot to cover a standard twenty two minuet episode of Scooby-Doo Where Are You which means that we get alot of scenes that don't add anything to the plot of this episode with alot of those scenes just being Scooby and the gang exploring The Addams Family mansion and that's it but I will admit that this episode does have some decent pacing to it tho. 

So now then since this is a comedy that means that I have to actually talk about the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad. With this episode having alot of genuinely really funny moments in it with alot of this episodes best jokes coming from Velma who was given alot of the episodes funnier lines and it was just pure fun seeing the Scooby gang interacting with The Addams Family which allowed us to get some really good jokes just out of that idea alone in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this was a really solid crossover episode and it's one that should be made available on home media just so younger kids could see The Addams Family teaming up with Scooby-Doo as it's that good of a crossover in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very episode in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very episode really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 7 out of 10 from me.
