X-Men Anime Review

For once guys I have no idea how to start an intro to this review it's something I did plan on doing last week but Aquaman and a bunch of other movies all came online and the exact same day so that meant I had to postpone this review by a week. Now tho i've seen all twelve episodes of the show and here to give you my thoughts on the show so here is my review of the anime version of X-Men.

The plot to this show is not long after the death of Jean Grey (who was being controlled by the Dark Phoenix at the time) the X-Men here consisting of Cyclops, Wolverine, Storm and Beast are tasked with finding out why there's serge in mutant activity in Northern Japan That's honestly the best way i can describe the plot since the plot of the show changes after episode which is a shame because if they didn't change the story they would have had a rather solid plot but since they changed it we have a plot that's that good.

Incase your wondering yes i'm reviewing the dubbed version of the show and incase your seeing this in Marvel only pages Marvel themselves had a hand in creating this show. Starring in the show was Scott Porter as Cyclops/Scott Summers , Steven Blum as Logan / Wolverine , the original voice for Leonardo of the TMNT as Professor X/Charles Xavier , The Flash star Danielle Nicolet as Storm/Ororo Munroe , Jennifer Hale as Jean Grey , Ali Hillis as Emma Frost and Stephanie Sheh as Armor/Hisako Ichiki.

Please note that those with Japanese names are listed as such because that's what there called in the show. As for the actual acting in the show itself it's actually pretty decent if I sound surprised that's because I am and because when I first took on the challenge of reviewing a Marvel Anime I had heard that they were pretty bad shows so i really wasn't expecting the quality of the acting to be as good as it was.

What was shocking is that given the X-Men characters that I mentioned there's a lot more who make cameo's in the final episode. I won't spoil them all but some of the characters who appear are Colossus , Rogue , Nightcrawler and most shockingly of all Deadpool. I'm not going to spoil the possibly big cameo tho since it really does depend on how you feel about that character but I can't get over the fact that Deadpool makes a cameo in this series it's just a shame it's a non speaking cameo.

The animation for this show was done by Madhouse who have worked on a tone of great anime films and TV shows so you know that the animation is going to be at a high standard and it is in this show. There's a lot of great fluid movements and backgrounds but what really bugged me and it's such a minor thing but a lot of the male characters have what looks like really shiny hair it's really distracting at times as well.

Most of us who saw X-Men: The Last Stand hated it because of the fact that it ruined a great storyline well clearly someone at madhouse loved it because of the fact that they made there version of Storm look alot like the Halle Berry. Of all the designs they could have gone with for the character they go with the one that's based of the actress that alot of people hated in those movies. I'll grant them this the design it self is pretty cool but why Halle Berry that to me makes no sense at all why not base her design of the 90's animated series version since that's still the most well known look for the character.

Incase your wondering why I chose to review this series the short answer is I didn't I held a poll for a few hours on Comics Amino asking them which of the four Marvel Anime (which consists of X-Men , Wolverine , Iron man and Blade) they wanted me to review since I was in the mood to watch one of them and they chose this one. So yeah a poll is why your seeing this review right now and after seeing the series in it's entirety I have to say I might hold more polls like that in the near future since this was an interesting series.

Marvel produced four anime under the Marvel Anime title yes they would go on to produce more shows but they exist in a different "world" to these ones. All of those shows debuted between October 2010 and September 2011 in Japan and in American between July 2011 and April 2012 with each series lasting exactly twelve episodes. What I don't get tho is why each of the shows has to take place in Japan it's not a bad idea for them to do that if it makes sense in terms of the story which it does here but still after a while that would get old fast.

What adds to the pedigree for us comic fans is that each of the series was helped by writer Warren Ellis who is also the writer for the excellent Netflix series Castlevania. Honestly there are a lot of interesting things thrown into the story like the fact we see Scott for alot of the series trying to cope with the death of Jean that to me is interesting and it's something that I don't think has been seen before and the fact that because of that he doesn't trust Emma that much despite her not even being there when Jean died.

I'm going to do something that if you've seen my anime reviews you know I never do and that's talk about the opening sequence because my god is that sequence boring. That opening doesn't do what any good opening should do and that's get you excited for the show it honestly felt like it was thrown together at the last minuet. There were times when watching this series that I considered just skipping the intro altogether and given that X-Men intros not just in Japan but in general have been really good it's disappointing that this one wasn't.

In terms of the action seen in the series I honestly really liked in heck I might even say that it was my favorite part of the whole show. They don't do your typical action scenes either since this is a group of super powered beings fighting that means that you get to see each of the main characters powers in action and that makes the action scenes look really awesome on screen.

Overall while this show is indeed good it has a lot of issues that keep it from being great and it was a great choice from the folks over at Comics Amino but if it's all the same to them i'll stick with the classic X-Men: The Animated Series this show gets a 6.5 out of 10 from me.

Some Anime Shows I Want To Review

Hello there anime fans as you might have noticed I like to review alot of things and that's because the things I want to talk about are things that havn't been talked about. Yes there is the odd new movie but it's mostly classic stuff and well I mention that because today i'm going to tell you some of the shows that I want to review at some point in the future.

My Hero Academia

When I first started thinking of shows to go on this list this show was nowhere to be found but as I started writing the intro I started to think it would be a really good show to watch. The only thing that's stopping me from doing it is the fact that there's alot of episodes per season to get through and that's very time consuming so i'll do it if they release some recap movies.

Love Live! School Idol Project

Now I do have a Love Live! review in the offing at some point in the new year but i'm also really thinking about reviewing this show. Which would make sense since I did review the movie and I plan of reviewing the Sunshine movie when that's out in the new year.

Love Live! Sunshine!!

As of right now this is the only Love Live! show that I can actually plan on reviewing since i'm getting the first season in a few weeks. I plan on reviewing it because nobody talks about the love live franchise be it good or bad so i'm going to do it just because no one else is and that is really surprising to me since it's a popular franchise.

Attack On Titan

Now that we've had a brief look in the idol genre let's dive back into the action genre because not only do I plan on reviewing Attack On Titan. I actually have a way to do it and it's so freaking simple my plan is simply this just watch the recap movies they cover all of the key episodes anyway so not only would that cut out alot of filler it would also save me a lot of freaking time.

High School DXD

I think every anime reviewer at some point has to take on this mammoth of a show the only thing that I would need to work out as how many episodes to watch. Since there's four seasons of the show and each season has twelve episodes it would be a huge task for any soul to take on. I promise you tho once I work out how many i'd need to watch and if I have the time i'll get right to it but that's a very big if.

 Blood-C

Now this is a show that I do actually plan on reviewing in the next few weeks and since I have the DVD it would be very easy to do. As with anything tho plans could change in a heartbeat so i'll say that if you see the review by next Monday then you'll know that my plans hadn't changed but if you don't see it then something came up that forced me to alter my plans.

Sword Art Online

Now this one would kind of be easy to do since there is a recap film of the first season out there. it's when we get to seasons two and three that things would get difficult to do it's not impossible by any means but i'd have to work out again how many episodes to watch in order to do the review justice but it's one that I look forward to working out and then reviewing.

Dragon Ball Z

As with a shocking amount of shows on this post the only thing that's stopping me from reviewing this show is the amount of episodes. Even if I chose to just watch the Kai series there's still a huge amount of episodes to get through and unlike a few of the shows i've already mentioned there's no recap films here to help me out. So i'd have to watch a huge amount of episodes in order to do this review any kinds of justice.

Witchblade Anime Review

Anime fans you might not know this about me but i'm a big comic book fan and if your a comic book fans you might not know this but i'm a huge anime fans. Anyway this weekend I have a few reviews planned that will combine my love of both so to start us of here is my review of Witchblade.

The plot of the series is a young woman and her daughter are cought in the cross hairs of an evil organization and have to take it down. I'll admit i've not seen this kind of plot in any anime before but at the same time it's also a very typical comic book plot. So I can't work out if the anime if paying homage to the comics by having this kind of plot or if the plot to this show very comic book like in it's nature.

Starring in the dubbed version of this show is Jamie Marchi as Masane Amaha , Carrie Savage as Rihoko Amaha , Robert McCollum as Yusuke Tozawa , Mark Stoddard as Reiji Takayama , Colleen Clinkenbeard and Reina Soho. I thought that the dubbing for this show was really well done which isn't really a surprise since it's done by Funimation and because of how well the dubbing is the action itself is also really good with each of the actors turning in a solid performance.

I would say that i'm shocked that not alot of comic book fans are talking about this but Witchblade is such a little known property anyway that it actually doesn't surprise me that not alot of people know about this show. What does set this show apart from other comic book adaptations is that it doesn't feature any of the characters or locations from the comic book it's based on instead choosing to feature new characters and shift the location from New York to Japan.

The animation for the series was done by Gonzo and I have to say that in my humble opinion the animation is one of the worst things about the series. When I say that I mean it's not good but it's also not as bad as the animation in Eiken but it's still pretty freaking bad with very limited lip movements and alot of really of drawings. To me this whole series could have been made better if the animators redrew some of there drawings.

I noticed that the main theme for this series is parenthood and how far would you go to project your kid. It's a theme that's really present in a lot of the shows episodes heck in the first two episodes it plays a part in the plot. It really is interesting seeing the character of Masane go from someone who at first can't really look after her daughter transform into someone who can look after her.

As I mentioned before this series is adapted from the comic book of the same name created by Marc Silvestri , David Wohl , Brian Haberlin , Christina Z and Michael Turner. The book was first published by Top Cow Productions from 1995 until 2015. After a two year break the series came back with a new creative team but even tho the series has never been that well known it has spawned a live action TV show , this anime , a manga , a Japanese novel and at one point there was even going to be a film based on the comic book made.  So then you could say that this is the comic book series that could because despite not being that well known it's spawned alot of fans.

As you'd expect with any comic book adaptation the original company is involved with the show altho there not that involved. Basically Top Cow's role on this show is that of a creative consultant in that they have very little to know say in what goes in the actual series they just say yes or no to certain things and that's really it.

I can't be the only one that has thought this about this show but the main character's armour is both incredibly impractical and it makes the other characters look dumb as hell. It's impractical because it projects nothing in fact she'd be safer in her normal clothes because there's no skin showing and it makes the characters look dumb because you can tell that it's Masane and it takes the minor characters a full twenty three freaking episodes for them to be told who it is.

Yeah that's right they don't work it out they get told who it is because that armour really hides everything. Since they were pretty much only taking the lore of the comic books couldn't they have made the costume have a mask or something anything would have done since then the characters face would have been covered.

As for what i thought about the action scenes in my opinion they were the best thing about the whole series. No joke I loved every action scene that came on because they were wildly inventive and cool to look at true they weren't as good as other action anime but I thought that these scenes kicked alot of ass.

Overall this was a decent show and if that's all you want just something that's decent then this is the show for you but if your looking for something that has a little more meat to it then avoid this show. it's not as bad as Eiken in my opinion because nothing is as bad as that show but it's not a good one either so it gets a 5 out of 10 from me.

Elseworlds Review

DC fans the Arrowverse has really taken of on The CW with countless shows both live action and animated and very year alot of these shows like to get together for one big crossover think Justice League if it was done on a TV budget. Well now the latest crossover event have finally finished and i'm here to bring you my review of it so here here is my review of "Elseworlds".

The basic plot of this crossover is Barry and Oliver wake up one morning and find that everyone thinks there each other and so they have to team up with Kara to not only work out what's going on but to also put a stop to it. I'll be the first to admit that the story for this years crossover wasn't as good as last years just due to the fact that last years crossover not only had a self contained story but also advanced many of the stories seen on the individual shows and this time that's not the case at all. It also doesn't help that The Flash portion of the episode really does feel like a prolog.

I'm not going to name every single actor who's in this years crossover just because there's so many so instead i'm just going to name the actors who appear in more then one episode and they are Grant Gustin , Danielle Panabaker , Carlos Valdes , Stephen Amell , David Ramsey , Tyler Hoechlin , Melissa Benoist , LaMonica Garrett , Elizabeth Tulloch and Jeremy Davies. I know that i've missed a certain name of this list but that's because I want to talk about her separately

In terms of the actors that i've listed it would be considered a cliche to say that there really good in this episode but since i've just reviewed Birds Of Prey and that had dreadful acting i'm going to say it anyway. The acting in this three part crossover was really good and while alot of that is due to the fact that these actors have been playing this characters for over five years now it's still impressive how these good actors continue to turn in solid performances every week.

Now alot has been made about the casting of Ruby Rose as Kate Kane aka Batwoman alot of what was said prior to the episode was mainly focused on the fact that even tho both the character and the actor being gay. People thought that Ruby was two gay whatever the hell that means and that just makes me think that the people making those kind of complaints are just willing to complain about anything. As for her acting I thought for the few scenes she was in she was alright nothing to special but also not that bad I would like to see a full series with her just to see what they would do with the character tho and this show commits the same sin that Birds Of Prey did by giving us a weak and out of character reason as to why Batman isn't there and again I have to ask why the heck couldn't he just be of screen like they did with Superman is the first season of Supergirl.

I've given this alot of thought but I have to wonder why the heck didn't they bring in the Legends for this crossover. Black Lightening I get because that films down in Atlanta so it would have been a huge ask to get any of the actors from that show up to Vancouver for two weeks but why not the Legends cast not only do they film in Vancouver but they also film in the exact same studio. I wouldn't have minded so much if they gave a story reason as to why the legends aren't there but nope they don't even get a mention.

If you've seen not only the crossover but also the above image then you know what I have to talk about. When Barry and Oliver first travel to Smallville they straight up play "Somebody Save Me" which was the theme song to Smallville and I laughed out loud when that song started playing because I knew that alot of Smallville fans would either be really happy that that song got played or they'd be really angry.

Humor seemed to the order of the day for this crossover since there was a lot of jokes in not only The Flash's episode but in the Arrow episode as well and I don't really think it was really needed. Don't get me wrong it's great that these crossovers have a lot of humor in them but in last years episode it made sense since they were meeting up for a wedding but here there meeting up to save the world so the jokes weren't always needed thankfully tho they got rid of most of the jokes in the Supergirl episode.

I can't be the only one that wants this but I really want to see to see a full series with Tyler Hoechlin as Superman the guy is just so freaking likable he is the Superman we need but tho the makers of this crossover clearly like destroying dreams because at the end of the Supergirl episode they had Clark announce he and Lois are leaving Earth to raise a baby. So thanks for destroying my dream of seeing him as Superman for a full twenty two episodes but it also means we don't get to see Elizabeth Tulloch as Lois and while she doesn't turn in a bad performance I just don't like her version of the character.

Overall this wasn't as good as last years crossover which I personally think is the best Arrowverse crossover so far but it's still worth watch plus they did something really freaking cool they told us straight up what the next crossover will be. The episode while fun in places is also one that's flawed in alot of places so it gets a 7 out of 10 from me

Birds Of Prey TV Series Review

DC fans we don't really get to talk much , we should really talk more and as you can guess by the very title of this review i'm going to take us back to a show that barely anyone even remembers and given that this team is going to be getting a movie in a few years now seems as good a time as any so here is my review of the 2002 TV Series "Birds Of Prey" let's dig in shall we.

I'm going to let you all know i'm doing something a little bit different with this review instead of watching the whole show i'm only watching three episodes and they are the unaired pilot and the shows first two episodes. The premise for the show is in the future long after Batman has driven himself into exile his legacy lives on in the form of the Birds of Prey. I'll admit the idea of having a Gotham without batman does seem interesting but my issue is that's not in his character at all so couldn't they have found a way to not have him in the show but have him still be in Gotham.

Starring in the show was Ashley Scott as Helena Kyle/Huntress , Dina Meyer as Barbara Gordon/Oracle , Rachel Skarsten as Dinah Lance , Shemar Moore as Detective Jesse Reese , Ian Abercrombie as Alfred and Mia Sara as Harleen Quinzel/Harley Quinn. Wow the acting in this show is pretty bad. I expected this show to have some bad acting just because the acting in most comic book adaptations in the early 2000's was bad but wow the acting in this show takes the cake.

At the end of the unaired pilot there's a great scene with Harley where she's interrogating the villain of that episode and during that scene it would have been perfect for Harley to go full on nuts but no they don't do that. If there was any scene where Harley should have gone freaking insane it's scenes like that because that's her character she would go insane at you if you so much as looked at her wrong altho that was the only scene that they improved in the shows first episode.

Here is something interesting Mia Sara wasn't the only person to play Harley in the show because in the shows unaired pilot episode she was played by the great Sherilyn Fenn. As far as I can tell they had no reason to replace her since there's nothing about it anywhere online and it's a shame because she could have made a decent Harley if given the time but they replaced and reshot her scenes from the pilot with Mia.

What really annoyed me was the fact that the show has really annoying CGI filled transitions and it's not just something that's every once in a while either. Those transitions are several times per episode and they are really freaking annoying and horribly dated because the CGI freaking sucks and you know it sucks because it's early 2000's CGI so not only is bad it also look really dated.

This show is cheesey as heck and when I say cheesey I mean it's really freaking cheesey and i'm not quite sure how I feel about that. On the one hand it does add alot of unintended humor to the show but on the other hand it does take me out of the show. Just to give you an example of how cheesey this show gets they add a lion's roar whenever Helena does a huge jump or whenever she does something cat like which while they do explain it still doesn't explain why there's a lions roar there.

When this show first aired in 2002 it was very popular with the 18–34 demographic and just based of the three episodes i've seen i;m willing to bet that most of the people watching this were male. If that is the case then I can see why it was popular and hint hint it has nothing to do with the show itself it's to do with the fact that all three leads are really beautiful and one of them wears a skin tight leather outfit. They pretty much got the male demo after pilot it's just a shame they couldn't keep them tuned in.

This show doesn't hide it's stunt team well at all because you can straight up tell when there using a stunt actor in the fight scenes. If you want to know what I mean it's whenever they cut to another shot and you can't see the actors face now any good film or show will try to hide the fact that's clearly not the actor doing that fight scene but nope not this show. In this show it's right there for us all to see in all of it's bad glory.

Like I said before when the show first premiered it was really popular however the ratings for the show dipped every week during it's thirteen episode run so much so that the network The WB cancelled the show after just thirteen episodes. I can really see why this show didn't stay on the air for long because yeah it's bad and i'm saying that after only watching a few episodes so imagine how bad it would have been if I watched all of the episodes.

As for the fight scenes themselves they are extremely basic and there's very little to no creativity in them what so ever. That's not really a bad thing since this is still a TV show but even so if your making an action show it's expected that you put alot of effort into creating some great action scenes. What does make the action scenes alot more entertaining tho is that there's a lot of whooshing sound effects in this I don't even think Power Rangers: The Movie had this many whooshing in it.

There is something that I did like tho and that's the shows opening theme it's called "Revolution" and is sung by singer / songwriter Aimee Allen. The song in my opinion really does fit the group really well and the fact that this technically the first appearance in live action for characters like Dinah Lance and Harley Quinn is only fitting in my humble opinion.

Overall this show is bad but it's bad in an enjoyable way like you'll laugh at how bad it is so that does prevent it from getting anything below a 5 out of 10 but it's still a show that has a lot faults and it was made at a time when comic book adaptations weren't being taken seriously so it gets a 5.5 out of 10 from me.

Aeon Flux TV Series Review

Animation fans there has been one show that i've always wanted to review but i've never done it for one reason or another well now I can safely cross this show of my list because i've just finished all three seasons and i'm here to bring you my review so here is what I thought of Aeon Flux.

Now I would normally write what the plot to the show is here but the show is so strange that I can't work out what the plot to the show is. It's because of the fact that the show has no plot that to me helps the show stand out quite a bit and yes I know that there are shows out there that don't have a plot but those shows also have a premise which means you can very easily pick up on if the show is going to be good but that's not the case with this show.

What also makes the show standout out from all the others is that for the first two seasons there was no dialog at all so the actors i'm listing are only in the shows third and final season and they are Denise Poirier as Aeon Flux and John Rafter Lee as Trevor Goodchild. There are alot more voice actors in this show but since the supporting cast changes with each episode I thought it made more sense just to list the two characters who are in every episode.

As for what I thought of there acting for a show that started in the early nineties the acting is pretty decent don't get me wrong when it's bad it's really freaking bad but when it's good it's great. I can't help but wonder if the either the actors or the crew involved didn't know what they were doing because there are times where you get this really odd line delivery and that's something that could have been fixed very easily.

After some research (less then five minuets on Wikipedia and IMDB) i've narrowed down who did the animation to two companies one is MTV Animation and the second is Colossal Pictures. Either way the animation is clearly the best thing in this show and that's saying something because there's quite alot of things in this show which are great and worth talking about. I will say tho that the character designs for this show are really weird and i'm not sure if that's a good thing or not.

This show aired from November 30th 1991 until October 10th 1995 spanning three seasons but I know what your wondering how can a show be on for three seasons but be running for four years. Well the answer to that is the first two seasons of the show aired on a show called Liquid Television and each episode was around two to five minuets in length. However it's when we reach the third season which started in 1995 that the show's length expanded to a full twenty two minuets as for why there was a three gap between seasons your guess is as good as mine on that one.

You might have noticed that i've not posted an image of what the character of Aeon Flux looks like well that's because if I did I could get banned in some places where this review will go. Now that i've said that I might get banned that should give you an idea as to how mature that this show gets at times so I wouldn't recommend any little kid watch this especially the first two seasons i'll explain why later on in the review.

One of the reasons why I wouldn't recommend this show to any little kids is because in the first two seasons of the show there's a lot of blood and alot of gore and when i say a lot I really mean a lot. It was common place for animated shows in the eighties and nineties to make guns sound like lasers and the villains henchmen robots but here our hero uses guns and not on robots on real life people.

The other thing that makes this show really freaking adult is the fact that in the second season Aeon Flux dies at the end of every episode so you can only imagine how disturbing a little kid would find a show like this and more importantly if this was made for kids all of the parents groups would loose there collective minds. I do have to say tho that I liked the fact that the main character dies at the end of the every episode since it makes the show standout but you can see what's going to kill her a mile away.

I don't know if anyone else will agree with me when i say this but in my personal opinion the show lost some of it's edge when it moved to a twenty two minuet show and that has me wondering where this show is at it's best. In the original format it worked but it didn't allow much time for character and story but we got a lot more mature content but in it's new form we got alot more character and world building but it lost some of that mature content.

When I was watching the show I couldn't help but compare it to the anime film Ghost In The Shell because they both came out in the exact same year and they both pushed the boundaries of what was acceptable in animation. So without those two things saying that both anime and animation can be for adults and we wouldn't have these more mature shows today that we all love yes there were others that helped with that but for me it was these two that really got people thinking.

Due to the fact that this show has no real plot or story to tell there's no continuity at all and while that does work for the first two seasons. It doesn't work for the third season since your in a longer format and that means there's only so long you can go without having continuity but tho on the flip side of that it also means you can get episodes where both the hero and villain switch roles and this show does that really well in my opinion.

Overall this series is strange and weird and yet at the same time it works yes the show does have a lot of faults but we cannot ignore the fact that it was a mainstay on MTV for a long time and it has inspired to check something else out (hint check the above picture) the show gets an 8.5 out of 10 from me.

Some Anime Films That I Love

Ladies and gents we anime fans talk alot about our favorite shows but for some reason when it comes to movies we never mention them well now I thought i'd do something a tad bit different and tell you some of my personal favorite anime films.

Maquia: When the Promised Flower Blooms

Out of all the films featured here this is the most recent film to come out and I have to say that it is simply stunning and it's a film where I can see my self going to get the DVD. That's how I know that a film is good so believe all the hype behind this film because it truly is worth it in my eyes.

In This Corner Of The World

Like a lot of the films featured in this post this is a film that has made me cry but to me this film is so much more then that. It's a film about heartbreak and finding the strength to survive at a time where that was impossible heck this film is so good i've not only seen the subbed version of the film but i've also seen the dubbed version of the film and I own it on DVD.

The Garden Of Words

Guys i'm going to let you know right now your going to be seeing alot of Makoto Shinkai's films on this list because the guy is mad talented. For now tho let's talk about what I think is his worst film which is saying something because the film is still really good there's really no more praise I can give this film but if your a fan of the director then you should check this out.

Mary And The Witch's Flower

The first film for any studio is always a hard thing because your film is not guaranteed to make any money. I think tho that Studio Ponoc's first film is truly something to behold I think that Hiromasa Yonebayashi and his team are truly talented and I believe that at some point ponoc could be on the same level as Studio Ghibli or Madhouse.

Your Name

Yup this film again lets face it guys the second you saw the name of this post you knew that at some point this film was going to making an appearance. Now I don't praise it to the high heavens like everyone else does and that's because by the time I got round to watching it the film had been hyped to hell. So no matter how good the film was it was always going to fail because the film was so hyped up in my mind it was this perfect film and yet when I saw it and found out it wasn't that it was shocking to me but it is still a great film.

5 Centimeters per Second

This for me is the best film that Makoto Shinkai has made it has everything that made Your Name the great film that it is and then some. I first saw this film a few years ago and it made me cry like crazy and I still choke up everytime I watch it that's how good it is there really is nothing more I can say about the film because it;s that good.

A Silent Voice

This film came out around the same time as Your Name and sadly it got really overshadowed by that film and that to me is a damn shame because this film is so worth watching. This is the only film in this post where i've read some of the manga before hand and the manga had me in tears I had no idea that manga could do that to a person. The film also had the exact same effect on me and it was in the exact same spot.

Ghost In The Shell

I cannot go on enough about how good this film is it truly is one of the best anime ever made in my opinion. Heck this film is so good that hollywood made a terrible live action version and that's how you know that a film is good. This film is so freaking iconic that to me you cannot call your self a die hard anime fan unless you've seen this film you don't have to have liked it you just have to have seen it.
