My Top 5 Worst Animated Films of 2017

Oh how fast the the time has come it feels like only yesterday we were getting ready to enter 2017 and what hopes we had the animated films that lay ahead and now it's time to celebrate the worst of the worst and i'm not going to exclude any straight to DVD feature in my eyes if it got a 2017 release and i saw it then it can and will be counted the best of list while it might get written tonight it might not be posted for a few days.

 5) Tom and Jerry: Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory

Let's face it we all knew that this one was going to be featured on this list at some point but i bet you never thought it would be this low down and that's because while it is still pretty bad it's not as bad as we all thought it would be.

4) The Lego Ninjago Movie

Now when this film was first announced i like the rest of the world thought it would be really funny however after seeing the film it quickly got mixed reviews and rightfully so the main father son focus is something that we've seen in every Lego movie from The Lego Movie onward and it lacks imagination and creativity both of which are crucial to make a great Lego movie.

  3) The Star

One of the worst things that any film can commit for me is making me bored and that's what this film does i honestly felt bored watching this movie which is a shame because the cast do try there best but there let down by everything else.

2) Despicable Me 3

I know alot of you right now are preparing to kill me but i don't like this franchise the minions are stuffed down your throat and everywhere so if you hate the franchise you have no choice but to look at the characters and what's even worse is these films keep on making money.

1) Mariah Carey's All I Want For Christmas Is You / The Emoji Movie

Honestly i couldn't choose one over the other here since they are both really bad both are unfunny and have terrible animation put towards them and both have a some what talented cast being given unfunny things to say and do and with All I Want For Christmas it's nothing more then a vanity project and trust me there's two many things wrong with The Emoji Movie for me to even name them all would take years.

Bugs Bunny's Looney Christmas Tales Review

Well then Looney Tunes fans the big day is nearly here and well i thought i'd bring out another review of a festive special this time featuring our favorite Looney Tunes here is my review of Bugs Bunny's Looney Christmas Tales.

Since this special doesn't have a plot to speak of it instead has three separate cartoons with the first being an adaptation of A Christmas Carol in which they cast Sam as Scrooge but due to the time frame they cut out alot of the story and for me that hurts the cartoon as a whole and i'm thankful that they redid that story with 2006's Bah Humduck.

The second cartoon is a Road Runner cartoon and yeah that's really all you need to know it's your standard Road Runner cartoon except this time it's set at christmas but we do find out some stuff about the Road Runner like for example Road Runner love desserts but hate the snow.

The third and final cartoon is called The Fright Before Christmas and it sees Taz become Santa and it follows him as he lands at Bugs's house and Bugs just basically screws around with him. For some reason i found the story for this cartoon hard to describe it's not a bad story it's easy to follow but trying to describe it to people was really hard for some reason.

There are only two actors in this special and they are the late Mel Blanc and the late June Foray and just by those two names you can guess what i'm going to say next and your right these two are great in this special and i can safely say that Bugs still sounds like Bugs in this special and honestly June does a great little kids voice.

Now this film was directed by the great Friz Freleng and the great Chuck Jones with Friz directing the Bugs Bunny cartoons and scenes and Chuck doing the Road Runner cartoon and i have to say having these two at the wheel was a great move because this special does have some great animation i will say it's not on par with the original shorts but for a TV special your not going to see better animation.

I'm sadden to say that not all of the cartoons are funny the first one does have a great and funny idea but due to the lack of time it can't be fully explored. The second cartoon does have some funny slapstick but for some reason it didn't feel right to me but tho for me honestly the funniest one was the final cartoon just the idea of having Taz pretending to be Santa is funny enough but then when you add in the fact that he has to deal with Bugs it becomes even more funny.

Overall this special is harmless altho it does commit another sin by not having the world's greatest duck Daffy in it i'm not joking they don't give him a cameo but it still gets a 6 out of 10.

My Brief Thoughts On the Leak Of Some MLP Season 8

Now i before i start i want to make it clear that if you've already watched the leaked episodes that's fine heck even i was pondering with the idea of watching them and i still am but i want to say that whatever caused these episodes to end up online shouldn't have happened.

Incase you didn't know on Sunday a whole bunch of season 8 episodes found themselves online and what shocked me was that no one was talking about this and i was shocked even more when i logged on this morning and found another episode has found it self online and i have to ask why is this happening? I've not seen the episodes so i can't say if they aired the episodes somewhere else first but with them coming online this fast it makes it look like the episodes are being leaked and that's not good for the show as a whole.

I live in the UK so being able to watch the show the legal way for me is hard because i have no idea where and what time it airs in my country so i have to watch the episodes the illegal way just to catch up i'm not saying it's right but that's the sad truth but with all the episodes that got released even i was going "this is to much" so far 6 episodes have been leaked as of this writing.

It's at this point i'd like to bring up shows like Steven Universe and Adventure Time because like MLP season 8 they have episodes leaked all the time and it's usually around the same amount of episodes which is four or five episodes and it hurts the shows ratings which in turn increases it's chances of getting cancelled.

We all remember when the recent movie leaked early but for me that's a different issue because of the fact that the movie leaked days before it was due to come out so it wouldn't have effected it's box office performance that much to begin with but hear were talking of leaking episodes months in advance that will have an impact on the ratings overall and i;m sorry about going on and on about ratings but it's the truth.

So there you go guys that's how i feel about the leaks sorry if it's seems like a bit of a rant post but to me that's how you know that someone truly cares about something and again i won't hold it against you if you choose to watch the episodes early and again that's something i might even do.

The Flintstones: Little Big League Review

I've reviewed alot of stuff featuring The Flintstones from there live action movies to some of there animated films and the odd special but this special i'm about to review i can honestly say i'm not to sure what rating to give it so here are my thoughts of The Flintstones: Little Big League.

What little story there is involves Fred and Barney coaching rival baseball teams and that's really it yeah when i said little story i wasn't freaking kidding that's all the story you get from this special and while i can see it working since the whole thing with The Flintstones was there meant to be the modern American family in the stone age here tho it just doesn't work.

Returning are Henry Corden , Mel Blanc , Jean Vander Pyl and *sigh* Gay Autterson Hartwig. The returning actors give solid performances altho i will say that Mel's voice for Barney is sounding more and more worn out but all of them out done by one name Pamela Anderson as Pebbles now my quack team of researchers spent a whole five minuets on IMDB and found out this wasn't the same Pamela Anderson from Baywatch but she still is actually pretty solid as now the pre teen pebbles.

Now getting a bit of an-upgrade is the animation don't get me wrong it still looks cheap but now it's more in line with how cheap the animation for the show was which is vast improvement from the quality of the animation in the previous special.

Now since Pebbles is a pre teen in this special they give her more mature problems gone are the days when her biggest fear was being cast in terrible live action version of her own family. In this special her main focus is to simply spend more time with Fred since Bamm-Bamm and Barney are spending alot of time together and honestly that story was the most interesting part of this special and it's just a shame they resolve it not that long into the special since that alone could have carried the whole thing.

There are a few good gags mostly with how the dinosaurs are used in Baseball and the fact that Fred gives everyone's son a spot on the team to get out of doing things but apart from that there's very little funny but there's quite alot of sexism in this special and all of it is coming from Fred like the only reason he won't let Pebbles join his team is because she's a girl and the reason why he won't help Wilma clean up is because she's a girl that's not me making up a reason that's the reason they give in the special.

Overall i think if your a fan of The Flintstones you'll enjoy this more then non fans will since it has the characters acting in character but with that being said there are alot of problems with this special so i honestly have no clue what rating to give this special but i can say if your fan of the Flintstones then go and see  this special.

A Flintstone Christmas Review

Hey there Flintstones fans a little over a week left before the 25th and well i started thinking how did they celebrate Christmas in the past and so to both begin and end my journey i traveled back in time to a place called Bedrock to bring you a review of this special.

The plot of this stone age special is When Santa has an accident and twists his ankle and that catch a cold it's up to Fred and Barney to help save Christmas and Fred's job. I have to admit this was a pretty fun little story i ad no clue where it was going it was a cute little story it's not going to change how you think of The Flintstones but it's still pretty solid.

This special has the voices of Henry Corden , Mel Blanc , Jean Vander Pyl and Gay Hartwig. Oh boy where to begin with the acting well first of Henry Corden is great as Fred i believe this is the first thing he recorded as Fred altho it's hard to say since this came out the same year as The Flintstone Funnies which was when he took over the part Mel is perfect as Barney as is Jean who now plays a pre-teen version of Pebbles but for me the let down was easily Gay Hartwig as Betty how she sounds as Betty is not how Betty should ever sound ever at all.

One of the few things i look forward in hanna-barbera  productions is the animation but tho here for some reason the animation looked cheaper then it already was the animation was a lot more stilted and i have no idea why The Flintstones was a huge franchise back in it's day you'd think they'd have spent at least a little bit of money on the christmas special but no instead they chose to produce something that's even more on the cheap.

Here is one of the only the pictures i can find of Pebbles as a pre-teen but she's not the only one that gets aged up so does Bamm-Bamm and honestly i like the idea of them aging up the child characters since it makes them more like real people and the designs aren't that bad either granted there pretty much the same designs they have when there babies but it's better then nothing and unlike 1994 Pebbles this one doesn't do nothing except get captured in the third act.

I wish i could talk that much about the jokes but the jokes in this on the same level as the later seasons of The Big Bang Theory maybe you'll get one or two decent jokes but chances are you won't you have Fred Flintstone going out as Santa the jokes write them selfs and the only joke they make about it is a fat joke and that's the easiest kind of joke you can make. With that said tho there are one or two semi-decent jokes i can't for the life of me remember them but they are there but you have to get through alot of terrible ones to get to them.

For some reason the makers on this special chose to make it a musical which is really freaking strange The Flintstones have done musicals before with the feature animated film and the christmas episode Christmas Flintstone but in those the songs never felt forced here tho it feels like there stopping the plot just to sing a song.

Overall this is a fine Christmas special if you have little kids or even if your a fan of The Flintstones for me tho the special gets a 6.5 out of 10.

A Review Of All Three Roger Rabbit Short Films

Now i assume that by this point in your lives you've all heard of the movie Who Framed Roger Rabbit it's a classic movie that blends live action action with animation however what you might not know is that after the film's release there were three short films made featuring the characters and i'm going to take a look at them now.

In the plot for the first short Tummy Trouble Roger is looking after Baby Herman who then swallows a rattle and Roger has to take him to the hospital to get it removed and hi-jinks ensue.I have to say i really liked the basic set up for this short it did a great job of reintroducing the main characters as well telling a fun little story.

In the second short called Roller Coaster Rabbit Roger , Baby Herman and Herman's mom are all at a fair ground and again the highest of jinks ensue. I can't say why but i didn't really find the story for this one to be that interesting it felt really dull for some reason plus the mother leaves the short for a dumb freaking reason.

Finally the plot for the final short called Trail Mix Up Roger , Baby Herman and his mom are going for a day out in a park but hi-jinks ensue when Herman wonders of and Roger has to try and save him. Story wise this short film fairs better then Roller Coaster Rabbit but it's still not as good as Tummy Trouble for some reason and i can't really nail why that is maybe it has something to do with the fact that the mother once again leaves Herman a dumb reason.

Returning to voice there characters from the movie are Charles Fleischer, Kathleen Turner, Lou Hirsch, and April Winchell. I have to say that the actors were pretty spot on in these shorts Charles is funny as Roger which i guess is because he also played the character when he wasn't filming his scenes for the movie , Kathleen turner IS Jessica Rabbit no one else can now play that character in my eyes and both April and Lou are great as Baby Herman. I will say however that when doing research for this review i found out that Corey Burton , Frank Welker , Charlie Adler and Jim Cummings all have roles in these shorts.

What i want to mention before i forget is all of these shorts have live action segments usually at the end of the short which were directed in the first two films by Frank Marshall and there's no listed director for the third film they add nothing to the shorts but i thought it was great that they didn't forget Rogers roots if you will.

I have to say that the animation was actually pretty good and i say that because i honestly had no idea what to expect when it came to the animation all the of the characters move like real cartoon characters (if that makes any sense). The only real issue i have with the animation is that it's two good these characters are meant to be based on 40's and 60's cartoon characters so the animation shouldn't be as good as it was.

Not all of the jokes in these shorts for me worked and i'm not really sure why that is a baby on a roller coaster should be funny but for some reason i didn't laugh one of the few times i laughed was when in Tummy Trouble Roger falls through alot of ceilings and at the end of that short i'm sure he and Jessica mentioned going to play Patti Cake together which is funny if you have a dirty mind.

I have to say i like the fact that they just Jessica show up in random moments in these shorts as it really does sell the fact that she and Roger and husband and wife and he's just asking the director to give her any role they have plus more Jessica Rabbit is only a good thing.

Overall i'd say if you were a fan of Who framed Roger Rabbit then you'll like all of these shorts but for me the first short is the best one scoring a 6.5 out of 10 with the second getting a 4.5 out of 10 and third getting a 5 out of 10

5 Bizarre Things That Got An Animated Show

Over the years there's been alot of adaptations hell i bet right now there's a few in development that we don't know about but i'm not hear to talk about the ones that were good i'm here to talk about the strange and bizarre things that got turned into an animated series so here we go.

 5) The Legend Of Zelda (The Legend Of Zelda)

Yes people you are seeing this The Legend Of Zelda did infact have an animated series it's the least strange show on this list but the fact it has a tone of animation errors and the fact they gave Link an annoying catchphrase which they ram down your throat is enough to put it on the list.

4) The Super Mario Brothers Super Show! (Super Mario Brothers)

What makes this show so freaking strange is the fact that it was a animated and live action hybrid however thought that was a good idea i hope that they got sacked and this produced by DIC aka the same people who butchered Sailor Moon and The Legend Of Zelda and for some reason they have professional wrestler Captain Lou Albano play Mario in both live action and animated form and the less said about the opening rap the better.

3) Captain N: The Game Master ( All Things Nintendo)

I know that it seems like i'm against Nintendo here i'm really not it's just that they produced some really freaking strange shows and the cream of the crop for me it Captain N: The Game Master and like the other two shows it was produced by DIC. The plot of the show followed a guy named Kevin who get's sucked into his Nintendo system and meets a bunch if there characters and has to help them save there world i'm not making that up that's the plot of the show and they even did a crossover episode with The Legend Of Zelda series.

2) Hulk Hogan's Rock 'n' Wrestling (WWE)

Now i like wrestling and i like cartoons however the two should not mix is any way shape or form (unless it's a Scooby-Doo team up movie) and this series is prime example of that i wish i could tell you the plot of the show nut i can't and i went through the cast list none of the wrestlers featured in the show voiced there respective characters which means Lou Albano said yes to Super Mario Brothers Super Show but said no to this.

1) Camp WWE (WWE)

Remeber what i just said about Hulk Hogan's Rock "N" Wrestling well the same is pretty much true for this series and what makes it sting even more is the fact that i actually liked this series and it had some good talent behind the scenes with Seth Green acting as a producer. I really cannot work out why this show only lasted five episodes it wasn't the best WWE product out there but it's not there worst.
