Jodie Whittaker IS The New Doctor My Thoughts

Hello there Doctor Who fans and today is the day that half of the fan base has dreaded and the other half don't care about we have a female Doctor and well here are my thoughts bare in mind i'm not judging her as The Doctor rather the choice to cast her.

I personally don't mind her but i've only seen her in comedic roles so i know she can do the comedy aspect part of the show but with that being said i havn't seen her in any drama so i don't know if she can do the more serious aspects of the show which does slightly have my worried since Doctor Who is and always has been a drama.

Now i recently made a top 5 post about who i think should play the doctor (shameless plug) but i admit if i even did a top 10 she would have came in at number 11 to me she wasn't a contender so in that regards i have to applaud the team for thinking out side the box but at the same time it means now that alot of people won't know if she's a good actress or not and that could people of watching the show.

Now if they are going to change the way things are done which judging by this casting choice they are thinking of doing but i think they should change the sex of the companion this way the makers of the show can hopefully have there cake and eat it.

The next worry i have is that i don't know if the writers can write a female character i'll be the first one to admit i havn't seen Broadchurch so i don't know how well written the female characters were in that show and Torchwood was more of an ensemble so if the female's weren't written well it didn't matter but now you have a female front and center so the writing has to be top notch.

Overall i personally am very mixed over her casting but i ask all of those that are set against having a female doctor to respect those who are all for having one this fan base is built on love and if past Doctor Who stars are happy about the change which they are i've seen the tweets then you guys can at least be respect full to each other.

My Top 5 Picks To Take Over The Role Of The Doctor

Hello there Doctor Who fans and  i thought that since Peter Capaldi has announced he is leaving the role of The Doctor that i would tell you who my top 5 choices to take over the role now i know that not all of these choices will be able to get the part for what ever reason but these are my picks.

5) Hayley Atwell

Now i know not many Doctor Who fans want to see a female doctor but i think that if we have a great person playing the part then gender shouldn't matter and for me Hayley Atwell is a great actress as she has rpoven time and time again with her roles in the MCU now pretty much reduced to cameo's and her show Conviction being cancelled it means she could very well walk out of the TARDIS on Sunday.

4) Mark Gatiss

Like Hayley this choice is pretty out there but with roles on Sherlock and Game Of Thrones as well as The League Of Gentlemen he has proven to be not only a great writer but also a great actor and since he is friends with out going show runner Stephan Moffat it means he has a fair chance.

3) Jack O'Connell

To put it simply this guy is a great up and coming actor and when needed can be pretty funny and dark just look at his time of UK show Skins.

2) Domhnall Gleeson

This guy was my first pick to take over from Matt Smith and he is one of my picks to take over from Peter Capaldi the guy is a great actor and he looks alien to me at least.

1) Ben Whishaw

If you have seen Skyfall or SPECTRE which are his most famous films then you'll know why i'm putting Ben in at number one sadly tho it's his role in those films which could also prevent him from getting the part but that doesn't me from dreaming.

Lego Scooby-Doo! Blowout Beach Bash Review

Hello there animation since i've made it a habit of reviewing the latest Scooby-Doo movie i thought i'd take a look at this latest movie featuring those meddling kids Lego Scooby-Doo! Blowout Beach Bash.

The plot of this movie is some pirates are after some treasure and it's up to Scooby and the gang to find out what's going on. The story is pretty weak and is for little kids but i think that this film does have a truly a great mystery that did keep me guessing until the very end.

We of course have Frank Welker , Matthew Lillard , Kate Micucci and Grey Griffin now sadly there isn't a complete cast list available so i can't say who the guest cast is but i can say that the guest cast did a good job with there characters as for the regular cast i really enjoyed them in this film even tho they've been playing the same characters for years i still find them a joy to listen to and that's even more true for this film.

Now i'm not going to name who animated this film since it's made by both The Lego Group and Warner Bros. Animation but whoever animated this film did a great job because there's a lot of great fluid movements in the characters and the CGI on the water and fire are really good and by that i mean they are movie quality you can tell there was a lot of effort put into this movie.

This film is listen as a comedy and to be honest i barely laughed there's jokes in here that little kids might enjoy but for me most of the jokes weren't funny the only funny moments i found were the moments where they know that there LEGO characters to me those jokes were funny but not much else was funny tho but like i mentioned little kids might find the jokes funny.

For some reason i found myself really liking Velma in this movie and i don't know why she's still the same character but in this movie i was really liking her plus i never noticed this before but Velma has dimples.

The score and songs for this movie where done by Robert J. Kral who's other animated films include Superman: Doomsday and Batman: Assault On Arkham and here his score is oretty much the kind of score you'd expect from a Scooby-Doo product but the songs he wrote for this movie are for me a very mixed bag the film opens with a song which is just awful to listen to and has bad singers singing it but the second musical number isn't that bad and i think that's also done to the fact that they had Kate Micucci who's also a singer in the band Garfunkel & Oates singing.

Overall while there are things in this movie that some adult fans might enjoy this movie is made more for little kids so for me this movie is a 6 out of 10

Doctor Who Series 10 "The Doctor Falls" Spoiler Free Review

Hello there Doctor Who fans for the final time this series it's that time of the week where i look back at the most recent episode of the show so here is my review of The Doctor Falls.

The story of this episode without giving anything away is The Doctor , Missy , The Master and Nardole take on Cybermen. In terms of story that's really all i can give you without giving away a plot point but i felt the story for this weeks episode was a step up from the past few weeks and i think that's more to do with the fact that the episode is an hour long the story was just perfect this time round.

Of course we have have Peter , Pearl and Matt but joining them from last week we have Michelle Gomez and John Simm and i have to say all of the actors that i've mentioned killed it this week all of the main actors brought there A game and it really showed. In terms of guest cast the only actor who really stood out for me was Samantha Spiro she's really good in this episode and i loved her scenes with Matt.

This episode was very action packed and i have to say i loved the action scenes in this episode there's not really much i can say about them because of spoilers but when you see the episode you'll know exactly what i'm talking about and you'll hopefully all agree with me.

I have to say i loved the interaction between Missy and The Master the two actors played those scenes so well and they were so well written and much of the episodes humor comes from those two characters but with that said Matt also gets a few good one liners and a few good jokes as well.

I liked the fact that the Cybermen were actually came across as a threat this time round and they do show some military smarts altho not much i can't really mention much about the Cybermen because everything they do is a spoiler but trust me there used well in this weeks episode.

For the first time in a long time i can say that the music in this weeks episode was truly fantastic Murray Gold is a genius the music in this episode made everything so much better then it should have done and i have to thank him for it especially during the final fifteen maybe ten minuets.

Overall this is the best episode of the series for me and this series as a whole has been really strong with one or two weak episodes and keep an eye out for a cameo or two that's all i'm saying this episode is a 9 out of 10 series 10 as a whole gets a 9 out of 10 see you guys in December.

My Little Pony: The Movie Trailer Review

Hello there Bronies and animation fans since i've not done a trailer review in a while and since the first official trailer for My Little Pony: The Movie dropped i thought i'd give you my thoughts on it and what i think of the movie thus far.

I have to admit that when i heard the trailer was dropping i was both sad and happy happy because it's been freaking months since the thirty second teaser dropped and since we got the 360 video but sad because i knew i wouldn't be able to see it until Thursday morning but when i saw it i was smiling from ear to ear like in this part of the trailer.

I have to admit i really like the animation so far granted what's in the trailer doesn't represent the whole movie but based on the trailer alone i can see that the animation and art style got a huge upgrade and for me that's a huge plus plus who didn't love Pinkie in this scene.

Now people have been saying this is a 2D animated movie i personally don't think it is since you can see alot of 3D animated shots just in the trailer alone i think there's about three or four and i have to say the 3D animated stuff looks like it mixes really well with the 2D characters.

The picture above is obviously from the opening of the movie and since you only get one chance at a first impression i have to say that including this in the trailer was a wise idea since now the fanbase can see that the artwork and the 3D got a huge upgrade from the show since the show has a tight budget and the movie has a bigger budget some improvements would have been needed.

This scene from the trailer is a great example of the shows humor it has something happen and then some random character jumps in with a great line and steals the scene and i hope the movies humor is as well written since both kids and adults should be able to laugh at MLP.

Now i never noticed when i first watched the trailer but if you look carefully in this scene you can see Luna and Celestia since it was so quick in the trailer i thought i'd point it out and it goes to show that the makers of the movie are not just using movie only characters apart from the mane 6 there's quite a few characters from the show crossing over i spotted Trixie and possibly Applebloom but i'm not 100% sure if that's her or not.

The rainboom is here to stay people i don't really have much else to say other then that altho this looks like it takes place in either the third act or late in the second act either way it doesn't give much away other then confirming that Rainbow Dash is cool and awesome something we already knew.

I only have one minor complaint tho and that's the fact that the stars from the show are not credited in the trailer while i do understand why this is the case i still would have liked to see them get the credit they deserve.

Doctor Who "World Enough And Time" Spoiler Free Review

Hello Doctor Who fans we are so near the end of series 10 and i have to say this has been a really solid series thus far but how about we get onto my thoughts of this weeks episode well since you asked nicely here is my review of World Enough And Time.

This is the first part of a two part finale and thus there really isn't much of a story to think of the only thing i can think of is The Doctor , Missy and Nardole try to save Bill from an evil hospital. Not only is that the only story i could think of it's also the only one i could use that doesn't give away any plot points. To be fair the story is pretty good and it does have alot of twists and turns that did keep me interested.

Now in this episode we of course have Peter , Matt and Pearl who do a pretty good job altho they do spend most of the episode apart so you don't get that great banter which i really like and they are joined by Michelle Gomez who is a true delight in this episode she just fires of witty lines left , right and center and at times does act like the Doctor himself. Now i would at this point mention the guest cast but since the guest cast really isn't that big and one of them is also a spoiler i'm not going to mention them by name but i will say that the guest cast do a great job and it's great to see that person back in the show.

Now the so called monsters are from the classic series and i say so called because they don't really appear until the end of the episode but i will say it's great to see them again lets just hope it's not decades since we see them take center stage in another Doctor Who episode and they do look really creepy.

What i found kind of annoying was the fact that the episode focuses a little to much on Bill altho i do like the character she works best when she's with The Doctor and Nardole so to me having her on her own for a large portion of the episode isn't that good.

For a two part episode this episode flew by the pacing was just so fast i would have preferred it if they just took the time to slow things down a bit instead of just rushing to the great twist ending and the big reveal sometimes slower is better especially when it comes to multistory episodes you need a lot of tension to carry over to the next episode and i felt like there really wasn't any apart from the things i can't talk about.

Overall this was a great start to a two part episode but it does have a few personal issues that do keep it from being a ten so for me this episode is a 7.5 out of 10

Doctor Who "The Eaters Of Light" Review

Hello there Doctor Who fans it's that time of the week once again where you read my look back on the latest episode (you know you love it) and this time i'm dealing with some nasty buggers in Scotland (no not the Scottish) here is my review of The Eaters Of Light.

The story for this episode is a hunt for the lost Ninth Roman Legion leads the Doctor, Bill and Nardole into the middle of an ancient battle that could cast humanity into the dark forever. Now Just by reading that little line right there you'd be forgiven for thinking that this episode was great sorry to say but it is not story wise at least the episode is pretty weak and really straight forward but there's one thing that old Doctor Who fans will love and that's the fact that the writer of this episode is one Rona Munro who's making her return to the series years after her last episode which was Survival.

We of course have our three main leads who at this point will earn nothing but praise from me as they are constantly doing a great job in each episode. They are joined by Rebecca Benson , Daniel Kerr , Brian Vernel , Rohan Nedd and Ben Hunter for me the guest cast did a really great even if one of them looks like Amy Pond crossed with ygritte from Game Of Thrones and honestly the only actor out of the guest cast who i could truly say was the standout performer was Benson and she's also the one who looks like Amy Pond to me she is the true heart of this particular story and i really liked that.

I'm sucker for great locations and for me Scotland is a great location i don't know if they actually filmed there or not but if they did then wow did they pick some stunning locations and if not they found a great place that looked like the country. To me the locations in this episode looked really good you cannot beat using an actual location there's only so much a studio can do and what it cannot do is recreate the beauty of a stunning location.

Now i have to say that in terms of humor this episode was hitting jokes out of the park like it's nobody's business all of the jokes from this episode like the one's in the rest of the series mostly came from Nardole i say mostly because there's a few lines from the end of the episode which came from a character i cannot mention but the ones that came from Nardole where really funny i won't give away the joke but i'll just these words Nardole and Popcorn.

The monster in this weeks episode was created fully in the computer and i thought it came out looking really good this weeks episode featured some truly great CGI monsters i can't really say much more then that since the creature is mostly covered in darkness when it's not it goes by to quick but from what i saw it looked really good.

Overall this weeks episode was kind of weak but as weak as last weeks episode altho i thought the ending to the story was kind of a let down really i give this episode i 7.5 out of 10 and next week it's the return you've all been looking forward to.
