Some Of My Favourite Adult Cartoon Shows

Cartoon fans we always talk about alot of child friendly or at least kid friendly shows but very rarely are adult shows talked about. So I thought that I would do something that's a little bit different and talk about some of my favourite adult cartoons shows and i'm going to fall on warn you guys right now that chances are there's going to be some adult pictures but i'll try and keep it clean if I can and chances are one of your favourites won't be on here so here we go.

Love, Death & Robots

There's really nothing else I can say about this show that hasn't already been said the show is that good. There's such a wide verity of genre's on show with this show so if you don't like one episode then chances are your going to like the next one. What makes this show adult in my opinion is not just the fact that there's swearing but also in themes of it's episodes and it's those theme's which make it standout above any other adult cartoon.

Mr. Pickles

I know that alot of people don't like this show and I can see why since the show isn't that pretty to look at. At the same time tho it is a very entertaining show and it does have alot of funny dark jokes it's just a shame that it's not the most good looking show to look at and it doesn't really have adult theme's it just has a lot of swearing and nudity but i'm still excited for this show when it comes back on in December.

The Simpsons

Not alot of people know that this is an adult show but yeah it is and it's one of the best adult shows at least in my opinion. What makes it so is not only the fact that in it's heyday it was one of the funniest shows out there , it's characters are also so ingrained in popular culture everyone knows every member of the main family but what makes this adult in my opinion is oddly enough it's plot lines they can be at times the most mature plot lines i've seen in any show and it's refreshing honestly.

South Park

Who doesn't love this show it has great jokes and it has great social commentary and the fact that each episode is made within a week is truly impressive. The fact that each episode is made in six days means that the show is always going to remain relevant because they'll always be commentating on things that have happened within that week however I will admit that im not that big a fan of them having season long plots tho.

The Flintstones

This is the granddaddy of all adult animated shows and yes this is a show made for adults so it does count. For me what makes this show adult is the fact that the writing for the show at least for the first three or four seasons is really good and it treats the audience with respect but it all went downhill after Bamm-Bamm met Pebbles the show instead of being made for adults became more kid friendly but i'll always remember those early years.

Fat S***s

I've had to edit the name of this show just because of the fact that the word in question is a British slang word which i'm not going to explain what it means you can just look it up. This is just a fun show to watch but it's not one that i'd recommend watching with parents or grandparents around that's how adult this show gets in literally every single episode that's really all i've got to say about this show.

My First SPOILER Filled Impressions On The Pilot Episode Of Pennyworth

There have been so , so , so many TV shows about Batman but there hasn't been any that have featured Batman's best friend who has an R in his name Alfred. I'll give you extra credit if you got what I was trying to reference there but it's true there have been a ton of shows featuring Batman and there'll likely be a ton more but now DC / Epix have debuted a new prequel all about Alfred and here are my first impressions of "Pennyworth"

The basic plot of this pilot episode is that someone is trying to to kill Thomas Wayne who turns to young Alfred to help keep him safe. To put it simply the plot of this pilot is basically the plot of any super hero show pilot and I will get into some of the issues that this story has when we get into the spoilers but I will say that this pilot does a fairly solid job of setting up alot of the characters and where the show could be going.

Starring in this episode is Jack Bannon as Alfred Pennyworth , Ben Aldridge as Thomas Wayne , Ryan Fletcher as Dave Boy , Hainsley Lloyd Bennett as Bazza , Paloma Faith as Bet Sykes , Jason Flemyng as Lord Harwood , Emma Corrin as Esme, Dorothy Atkinson as Mrs. Pennyworth ,  Ian Puleston-Davies as Mr. Pennyworth ,  Richard Clothier as The Prime Minister , Jessica Ellerby as The Queen and Salóme Gunnarsdóttir and Patricia Wayne.

In all honesty the acting in this episode is the kind of acting you'd expect from any pilot since all of the actors are still trying to find their character while at the same time developing chemistry with the other actors. That said tho there is some good acting to be found in this episode with the I think the best actor oddly enough being Paloma Faith who is just a joy to watch she's is just so creepy and yet so entertaining at the same time.

SPOILERS START HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AS you'll no doubt know by now this is a prequel series and as such this show does episode does fall into the same pitfalls as any other prequel. I say that because they but Thomas Wayne in situations where he could die which is absolutely pointless because we know he's going to make it out alive because of the small fact that he's the father of Batman. I honestly feel that they could have done an Alfred prequel and not have it feature a Wayne in any way and if they did that then they'd have more freedom to put characters in those life and death situations.

Speaking of Batman this show doesn't really lean that much into the mythology which does make sense at least for a pilot episode. I would however like to see them establish more things from the lore just because I think it'd be cool to see how we got certain things like was Wayne Manor bought or was in Thomas's childhood home and where did they get the idea for Wayne Industries just some things like that really.

This episode i'll admit is boring as hell and alot of that boredom comes from the fact that the pilot episode is nearly an hour and fifteen minuets long and only has enough story for at least forty five minuets to an hour. Alot of the episode and I mean alot of the episode is spent setting up the relationship between Alfred and Esme with very little screen time spent developing the relationship between Alfred and Thomas.

I honestly feel that the pilot would have been better if instead of focusing on the Alfred and Esme relationship they instead focused on the Thomas and Alfred relationship. By doing that the show makers would be giving us something that we really haven't seen before but for some reason the makers of the show have chosen not to do that and so we're left with a lot of dull and boring scenes at least I think they are.

SPOILERS END HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Overall out of the two pilots that i've seen today this is the worst one if the series does get better then maybe i'll check it out but there's no rush for anyone to see this show and so this episode gets a 6 out of 10 from me.

My Thoughts On Infinity Train And Yes There WILL Be Spoilers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ladies and gents if you'll recall I once gave a really solid review to the Infinity Train pilot but what you don't know is I also signed every petition in the small hope that it would get Cartoon Network to green light a full series. Well now the time has come I have to admit tho I wasn't expecting this to land as early as it did like the rest of the world I was expecting this to land a few weeks before it's broadcast but CN uploaded the full episode to their app and so here are my thoughts on the first episode of Infinity Train.

The plot of the episode is thirteen year old Tulip finds out from her divorced parents that she can't go to a coding camp and so out of anger runs away where she then comes across a train. Yeah the plot of this episode is basically that of any super hero origin story and it honestly really does work for this show since the original pilot episode explained nothing so it was nice to finally get some things explained.

Starring in this episode is Ashley Johnson as Tulip Olsen , Jeremy Crutchley as Glad-One , creator Owen Dennis as Sad-One , Reagan Gomez-Preston as Mikayla and Audrey Wasilewski as Tulip's mother Megan Olsen. I have to say that I like the fact that there expanding the world of Infinity Train since it would have been super easy to just have it be the characters we saw in the pilot episode but since they are expanding the world it means that we get to see more of Tulip's life prior to the train and as this pilots shows us her reason for first jumping on the train.

In terms of what i thought about the acting for this first episode it was fine it wasn't as great as the acting in other debut episodes but it worked here. I'm glad that they stuck with the cast from the pilot since just based of the trailer it looks like there going to be including the original pilot so it would have been weird if they replaced every actor and then when it came to that episode and they kept the original voices even tho the chances of them keeping the original voices for that episode would have been slim anyway but it still would have been weird.

The animation for this episode and this show is I believe being done by Cartoon Network Studios but there's a huge chance that i'm wrong about that their just the only company I can find on the shows IMDB page. The quality of the animation tho is alot better then what the trailers led us to believe just by going of the trailers it looked like the animation was just going to be a bog standerd TV affair and nothing more.

The animation seen in this episode alone looked liked it belonged in a movie it was that stunning to see. Adding to that is the incredible backgrounds I have no idea what the budget is for this show but it must have been huge to be able to afford this good quality animation and backgrounds and I hope to god that it continues with the rest of the series and if so then we are truly in for a treat at least when it comes to the animation.

SPOILERS START HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One of the things that I really didn't like and that's the fact that they made Tulip a little bit of brat in this episode. Her parents made a legit honest mistake and they have legit reasons for not being able to take her to camp and she overreacts and i'm sat here thinking "girl you need to chill out you can always go to camp next year" and instead of being a reasonable person her first idea is to run away and I hope that they tone down her brattiness over the course of the show.

There's a bit of a mystery starting in the show since you straight up see another passenger get killed well they don't outright say the passenger was killed but given what they show us it's pretty clear the passenger was killed. So we now have to wonder why was that person killed and more importantly who was the passenger so i'm now expecting alot of people to make theories just about that one passenger.

I honestly like the fact that the show is featuring parents who are divorced since it's not really something that is seen in the realm of animation not only Cartoon Network but other networks. It's a great way to create drama and it adds to the arc of Tulip since she has to find a way to get of the train anyway but now she has to come to terms with her parents divorce and that's something that alot of kids have to come to terms with as well.

Rather oddly we don't get to see The Steward there's a chance that the character appears when Tulip first steps onto the train but I couldn't get that good of a luck to say for sure. If it's not The Steward tho i'm surprised that they didn't have the character appear since they were a key plot point in the original pilot so I thought that maybe they'd start to explain some things about that character but nope they haven't done yet.

For those wondering why Tulip doesn't just jump of the train they straight up answer why that's a bad idea in this episode. I'm glad that they took the time to answer that question because it would have been super easy for them just to not answer that question in this episode but at the same time it would have been against Tulip's character and I was honestly shocked when they did it because I thought that they wouldn't answer that question at all and i'm not going to spoil it because I want to you guys to find out why that's a bad idea by watching the episode.

SPOILERS END HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Overall this was a fantastic pilot episode even with all the faults that I personally had with the episode it's still a solid pilot and so it gets an 8.5 out of 10 from me and you can bet i'm not only going to watch this show but also review it at some point.

Captain Caveman and the Teen Angels Review

Animation fans we have spent the past few days getting news from some event in San Diego it must have been a small little known event no one has ever heard of. So I thought that i'd cover a show that very little people know about just because why not and let's just say that I didn't have to watch that many episodes of this show to understand the formular behind this show and so here is my review of Captain Caveman and the Teen Angels.

The basic set up behind this show is Captain Caveman is the world's first super hero and was frozen in ice many years ago and now he's been freed and travels with the Teen Angels and helps them solve mysteries. If your wondering why this set up sounds familiar it's because it's almost the exact same set up as Scooby-Doo and that is a huge issue for me because there's nothing that sets this show apart from Scooby-Doo at all.

Starring in the show was Mel Blanc as Captain Caveman , Laurel Page as Taffy Dare , Marilyn Schreffler as Brenda Chance and Vernee Watson-Johnson as Dee Dee Skyes. This has a very small cast list and given one of the voices that's a good thing. In terms of what i thought about the acting tho it's not as bad as I thought it would be and it's alot better then it really had any right to be but there is an issue that i'm going to talk about later on.

It's later and that issue is one of the voices more specifically the voice of Taffy it's super annoying and almost off putting. I don't know why but they gave Taffy a New York / Southern accent and it just comes across as super annoying i'm not kidding I considered turning this show of several times because of the voice and I have to wonder that since she's a main character why the heck didn't they give her a more pleasing voice.

The animation was done by giants Hanna-Barbera and it's pretty much there usual standerd in terms of TV animation. By that I mean it looks cheap and there's a lot of repeating backgrounds but there's a certain charm to the cheap animation and that's not just in this show but in all of their shows both good and bad. I also didn't notice any animation errors which is always a good sign because it means that the show was well made and that the creators put in actual effort.

This show is one of the many Scooby-Doo clones that came out during the seventies and out of all of them this is perhaps the most subtle. Just because all of the others have the exact same amount of main human characters plus a wacky comical character and they all travel in a vehicle of some sort and I think it's the most subtle because this show was made by the same guys behind Scooby-Doo Joe Ruby and Ken Spears.

When this show first debuted it was apart of a block called Scooby's All-Star Laff-a-Lympics which was a show that lasted around two or so hours and also included Blue Falcon and Dynomutt. When the show was cancelled tho Captain Caveman and The Teen Angels became it's own show starting with it's second season so it did technically last three seasons even tho that first season aired as part of another show.

Like I said the show aired for three seasons starting on September 10th 1977 and ending on June 21st 1980. The show aired when HB were i'd say on the way down in terms of shows since they were all either Flintstones spin-offs , Scooby-Doo spin off's or Scooby-Doo Rip offs but it nice to see that they were still at least trying to turn out original shows even if those shows were very strongly tied to the formular of Scooby-Doo.

I hated the character of Brenda she's not badly acted nor is she badly animated she is however badly written. She's the typical cowardly character who's just there to get a few laughs and nothing more and while that character trope works for characters like Scooby and Shaggy it doesn't work here because they over do it. They really could have tones it down or if not at least pair her with someone else who is a coward so it would kind of balance it out a little bit.

Each episode is roughly around eleven minuets each which when edited together means each episode is the standerd twenty two minuets long. I have no idea why they made the show with eleven minuet segments since it leaves no time to tell a good mystery because by the time you've set up the location and introduced some of the key players there's very little time left to tell a decent mystery and that's the most important thing in a mystery show.

There is comedy in this show and all of it comes from Captain Caveman himself and I have to say not all of the comedy is bad there are jokes that just aren't funny. Alot of the humour comes from the fact that Captain Caveman is trying to adjust to life in the present day and so mixes things up which it can be funny at times but then there are times where they use that joke multiple times in an episode and that's when it becomes unfunny.

Overall I can't honestly say the show is that bad but it's not that good either and i'm glad that the characters are due to make an appearance in next years Scoob but as a show this gets a 5 out of 10 from me.

Batman: Hush Film Review Which WILL Contain SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ladies and gents this weekend is San Diego Comic-con and at the event DC held the world premier of their latest film Batman: Hush. Now i'm not in America and I tickets to the event would cost to much so I got the digital copy of the film and as is tradition i'm writing my review of the film the day of it's digital release that doesn't mean it'll be posted everywhere on the same day tho and so here is my review of the film version of Batman: Hush.

The plot of the movie is a mysterious criminal known as Hush is determined to destroy both the crime fighting career and personal life of Batman which has already been complicated by a relationship with Catwoman. In terms of what I thought of the story it was very well told and well written but the makers of the movie make a key mistake which i'll get into later on this review since it's a spoiler.

Sadly this film is set in the DC Animated Movie Universe or DCAMU which sadly means we don't get Kevin Conroy as Batman or Mark Hamill as the joker. Instead starring in the film is Jason O'Mara as Bruce Wayne / Batman , Jennifer Morrison as Selina Kyle / Catwoman , Jerry O'Connell as Kal-El / Clark Kent / Superman , Rebecca Romijn as Lois Lane , Maury Sterling as Thomas Elliot , Rainn Wilson as Lex Luthor , both Peyton Lists as Barbara Gordon / Batgirl and Pamela Isley / Poison Ivy and Geoffrey Arend as Edward Nigma / The Riddler.

I can't help but wonder how much more awesome this movie would have been if they had Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill reprising their roles as Batman and Joker. Don't get me wrong Jason is fine as Batman as is Jason Spisak as The Joker but they don't hold a candle to Kevin and Mark. The rest of the cast do a solid job voicing their respective characters but for this story solid is nowhere near good enough.

Now I cannot find who did the animation for this film which is rather odd because I usually can find it on the day of the digital release. I have to say that the animation in the film is in my opinion pretty freaking solid but given that DC always has good animation in their films that's really nothing new but I do feel that some scenes could have been animated better but that might be due to the lack to time they have to make these films.

I can very easily see alot of people being confused by the cast list so allow me to clear things up their are two actress with the exact same name Peyton List. The older list has played Ivy before on the show Gotham and has also done Mad Men and the younger List is mostly known for her work on the Disney Channel and I believe that this is her first time doing voice acting for a feature film since she has voice acted before in a crossover episode with Ultimate Spider-Man and her show Jessie.

SPOILERS START HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now unlike alot of comic adaptations that I review I have actually read the original book however i've not read it in years. So I had to do a quick read through of the Wikipedia page for the comic book and from what I read the film does stick to the plot of the book quite closely except in this film there's no Huntress of Killer Croc with Croc's role here filled by Bane for some unknown reason and there's no Ra's al Ghul either.

Now in the cast list I did actually make a small edit and that's because I didn't want to give away who Hush is. However since we are are in the spoiler section I can reveal that Hush is The Riddler in this film which to me is weird because just based of what I read The Riddler wasn't Hush but was the mastermind behind the whole thing with Hush being Thomas Elliot and I have no idea why they made that change at all for the film.

The mistake that I mentioned earlier on in the review is that for a large portion of the film's running time we're ahead of Batman in terms of what he knows. Which isn't how you create a good mystery which is what a good Batman film should do we should be learning things as Batman does and not be several steps ahead of him yet tho for some reason this film thinks we need to be ahead of the character which only makes the character in my opinion pretty dumb.

It was great to see Batman take on pretty much all of his famous foes since it's something that's very rarely done in film. I do wish tho that even tho it was cool to see it happen that they had cut down on some of the fights or removed the ones that weren't relevant to the plot of the movie we didn't need to see Batman almost kill the joker you could have cut that scene of early and it would have served the same purpose in my opinion.

Now if you know what happens in the current Batman comics and have seen this film then you'll know why I put this image here. Since for some reason instead of focusing on the actual mystery of who Hush is and giving us clues the film makers instead choose to put more focus on the relationship between Batman and Catwoman where like in the comic book they become a couple and while that's not a bad idea in theory I feel that it could have been handled much better like for example why not have them share the odd look or to because it really does come out nowhere at least in this film it does.

Now I was going to end the spoilers part of the review with the Batman and Catwoman relationship but I realised that the above picture might be considered a spoiler. So that means we have to talk about some of the fan service we get in this film because we get a scene that will send fourteen year old minds ablaze with Catwoman and Poison Ivy kissing and it's pretty awesome I mean it adds nothing to the story and is forgotten about but still it's awesome to see it.

SPOILERS END HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There is some action in this movie as you'd expect from a Batman movie and as you'd expect alot of it is just seeing who can hit who the hardest. Which by now is something that i've come to expect from these movies but I do like the fact that we do get to see Batman use more of his gadgets during those scenes since it does keep them from being boring and repetitive and boring but like I said when talking about some certain scenes they go on for a little to long in my opinion.

Overall this was a decent watch and it was a good adaptation of the original story but missed casting opportunity's aside it does feel rather long which is a shame because the film is only just over an hour and twenty minuets long and so the film gets a 7.5 out of 10 from me and if you've been following Comic-Con news then you'll know why i've put the cover for Superman: Red Son as a picture let's just say 2020 is going to be a hell of a year for DC animated movies.

Lego DC Batman: Family Matters Review

Lego fans the company has produced alot of films based on DC Comics characters and well there latest film has leaked out now out. I'll be the first to admit that i totally forgot that this film was even coming out since i'm more focused on Batman:Hush which i'm going to say now i'm not one hundred percent sure if i'm going to be able to review it when it first comes out but we'll see anyways here is my review of Lego DC Batman: Family Matters.

The plot of the movie is a new villain called Red Hood has started to terrorise Gotham and it's up to the whole Batfamily to stop him and work out who he is. I'm just going to come out say it if you've read the comics or seen Under The Red Hood then you'll know right away who Red Hood is but this film isn't made with you in mind it's made with little kids in mind and so you can't be to harsh on them.

In terms of what I thought of the story it was perfectly simple enough for a kids film but at the same time the core theme of Batman trying to open up was something that was already explored in The Lego Batman Movie so there was no need to have it in here since it's already the main focus of a much better Lego Batman movie and in all honesty it just feels lazy on the film makers part since there just copying others work.

Starring in the film is Troy Baker as Batman , Alyson Stoner as Batgirl , Scott Menville as Damian / Robin , Jason Spisak as Red Hood , Steve Blum as Scarecrow , Zach Callison as Billy Batson / Captain Marvel , Cam Clarke as Brother Eye & Bat Computer , Will Friedle as Nightwing , Ralph Garman as Wizard , Jake Green as Fred , Josh Keaton as Board Member , Tom Kenny as Gordon & Penguin , Christian Lanz as Harvey Dent / Two-Face , Nolan North as Alfred & Killer Croc , Andre Sogliuzzo as Riddler , Tara Strong as Batwoman and Fred Tatasciore as Solomon Grundy.

The acting in the film is honestly alot better then what it has any right to be if anything I think people would have forgiven these actors if they chose to foam it in in these movies. What does annoy in some ways but it makes since in others is the fact that Scott Menville is using the same voice he uses for Dick Greyson and all it does is make me want to watch Teen Titans or Teen Titans Go! To the Movies but it also makes sense since that's the voice that little kids will be used to hearing.

As per usual I couldn't find who did the animation for this film the closest I could find is The Lego Group but that's a long shot. The animation in the film is pretty good at least for a kids straight to DVD movie  but I honestly prefer the stop motion look of the big screen Lego movies as opposed to the fully CGI look of these straight to DVD movies but like I said the animation in the film isn't that bad it's just my personal taste.

There is one story thread which i'm shocked that they did because it's something that I never thought that any film would do. I can't really mention what it is because it's a spoiler and i'm trying to respect the film makers by not giving away plot lines but i'll say that when you see this movie hopefully you'll be as shocked as I was when it came up in the film and it's something that I now want more Batman films to deal with.

This film is stuffed to the prim with main villains there are at least three in this movie and that in my opinion is two to many. I've already mentioned Red Hood but there's also Two-Face and Brother I and there not really needed the film would have been much better if there was just one villain having three of them just makes the film feel bloated and you have to spend alot time explaining who each of them are and that takes time away from expanding on the plot.

As well as having to many villains there also to many plots going on at once every character apart from Batwoman has a subplot. You don't need alot of plots for a kids Batman movie especially when the main plot is strong enough and could easily support the whole film. So when you have all of these plots going on at the same time it means that none of them have time to fully develop and be as good as they could be because there fighting for time with several other storylines.

Now if i'm right this is the first Lego film to feature Batwoman and I have to say they did a pretty solid job with her. They don't go into the fact that she's a lesbian which in this case is really understandable but they show us enough so that we get the message that she's a woman not to be messed with and that is honestly all we need to really know about her at this point since she's getting a TV series that's due out on The CW in October.

Since this is a Lego movie there's alot of jokes in this but shockingly there's not as many as I was expecting. Given the jokes that we did get however tho that's a good thing because alot of the jokes in this film just aren't that funny there's one or two jokes that might get a smirk out of people but that's really it the rest are the kind of jokes that you would expect them to make and there just as unfunny as you'd think they are.

This is a superhero film and so that means that there are action scenes and in my opinion the action scenes in the movie aren't that bad there also not that good either. What makes me say that is the fact that you can tell that the team is trying to be creative by putting the heroes in unique and fun situations but it feels like either Lego or Warner Bros or maybe even DC was holding them back by forcing them to do certain things be it making a joke or or by cutting the scene of to early.

Overall there is fun to be had with this film like there is with all of the Lego films but I can't honestly find myself recommending this film since it does use the same theme as The Lego Batman Movie and that's just pure lazy to me maybe little kids will like it but for this batfan it gets a 5.5 out of 10 from me.

Scooby-Doo! Mask of the Blue Falcon Review

Scooby fans Comic-Con starts next week and Scooby-Doo is going to have some sort of presence that weekend. So I thought i'd take a look at the only film that features a set up similar to Comic-Con except it doesn't feature comic book heroes but features a group of teenage crime solvers and there talking do. This is one of the many Scooby-Doo films i've not even seen so I was going into this film pretty blind so here is my review of Scooby-Doo! Mask of the Blue Falcon.

The plot of the movie is Shaggy and Scooby convince the gang to go to a Comic-Con type convention where they meet the original Blue Falcon actor Owen Garrison but all is not what it seems as there's someone attacking the convention and so it's up to our gang of heroes to solve the mystery. As a comic book fan I found the story in this film to be really good i've never seen the franchise essentially tell a superhero story before so I was shocked at how refreshing it really was and how well told the story was as well.

In this film the scooby regulars are voiced by Matthew Lillard as Shaggy Rogers , Frank Welker as Scooby-Doo, Fred Jones and Dynomutt , Mindy Cohn as Velma Dinkley and Grey Griffin as Daphne Blake. They are joined by Diedrich Bader as Brad Adams/Blue Falcon II , Dee Bradley Baker as Hideous Hyde Hound , Jeff Bennett as Owen Garrison/Blue Falcon , Gregg Berger as Hank Prince , John DiMaggio as Mr. Hyde , Nika Futterman as Jennifer Severin , Kevin Michael Richardson as Mayor Ron Starlin , Tara Strong as Austin , Fred Tatasciore as Jack Rabble and Dynomutt II and Billy West as James Becker.

The acting in the film wasn't that bad but I think that's more due to the quality of the actors involved with the film rather then the quality of the film's script. That's not to say that the script is bad far from it but when you see actors such as Tara Strong and Frank Welker then you know that they are going to deliver great performances and here the same is true for the whole cast both regular and guest and that's not something I get to say often.

The animation for the film is done by Digital Emation who also do the animation for OK KO and I have to say that the animation is honestly pretty good. It's not as good as I thought it would be but it's also not as bad as it perhaps could have been but the characters have these really thick lines which at times do get rather frustrating but the overall quality of the animation is that of a high quality and that for me is always a good thing.

As a movie which is technically a crossover movie I thought that how they did the crossover was really fresh and clever. It would have been so easy to have Blue Falcon and Dynomutt be actual people but to have them be characters to me was a smart and clever idea and it's one that I wish that more Scooby-Doo crossover movies would do but for some reason none of them ever do it and I have no idea why that's the case.

When I said that this version of Comic-con doesn't feature comic book heroes that's because there are cameos from other Hanna-Barbera productions. They don't just stick to popular HB shows either Frankenstein Jr. from Frankenstein Jr. and The Impossibles makes a few appearances it honestly makes watching the scenes set at the convention alot more fun to watch because you never know who's going to appear and a word of advice keep an eye out on the posters because there's a lot more references there as well.

I was honestly shocked at how many references there actually is in this movie even in the above picture I just spotted a Wacky Races references and that was something that I never noticed in the original movie. I don't want to keep on banging on about this because there are other things to talk about but just the fact that they made so many references to other and some times little known HB productions is such a cool thing.

What I wasn't expecting was a nod to a classic Spider-Man story called Spider_Man No More in which Peter Parker gives up being Spider-Man. To be honest I really wasn't expecting any kind of super hero reference at all but the fact that the makers of the film went to the length of referencing what is perhaps one of the most famous Spider-Man scenes is something that is both truly shocking and awesome at the same time.

In terms of what I thought about the actual mystery and in my opinion the mystery in the film is actually pretty good. It's not great by any means since we don't see the gang collect any clues and there is a time in the third act where we the audience get ahead of the gang which should never be the case but for the most part it is a fun mystery and the reveal is someone that you might not see coming which for a mystery is always a good thing.

Overall the best word I can use to describe the movie is fun it's a fun movie in every sense of the word be it from seeing Shaggy , Scooby and Daphne geek out over things from the over the top third act it's just to watch but it's not a perfect movie and so it gets a 7 out of 10 from me.

Teen Titans: Raven Review

DC fans the company has for some reason started this trend of turning it's characters into teenagers for a new I guess line of graphic novels. Well the latest one in that line has come a few days ago and just due to my busy schedule i've only just got around to reading it and since my review of the new Mera graphic novel went down so well I thought i'd try and review every graphic novel in this line and so here is my review of Teen Titans: Raven.

The plot of the book is Rachel Roth and her mother get into a car accident in which the mother dies and Rachel looses her memory so now armed with new friends Rachel has to deal with the darkness growing inside of her all the while working her way through high school. I'll be the first to admit that the plot to this book is basically that of a bad YA novel even down to having a bland male love interest and having him fall in love with the main girl after first setting eyes on them.

I'll admit to not really being the biggest fan of Raven it's not got anything to do with her character but it's to do with the fact that I can't find any books with her as main character or any book that she's in infact the last Raven book I read was the 2016 miniseries. That said however I still felt that how she used here felt more in line with the typical YA heroine in that she's the only one who can stop this thing from happening and she spends alot of time pining over a guy she just met.

The whole amnesia angle I did think was pretty interesting and the book does stick with this angel all the way through which I really wasn't expecting. If anything I was expecting them to drop this aspect of the story once the main love interest came into the story but no they stick with it and not only that it plays a huge part in the story which was honestly really refreshing since it would have been super easy for them just to drop it and pretend it never existed.

The writer of this book is Kami Garcia who in terms of comic books has only written this book but is perhaps most well known as the writer of the YA series of books The Caster Series which has five books in total the first of which Beautiful Creatures was also turned into a film. Yeah no wonder this whole book feels like a YA novel they had a freaking YA writer writing it that being said tho the writing isn't that bad but it's also not that good either.

To me the most real scene in this book is also the one that I feel is the best written it's the scene where Raven starts hearing students thoughts for the first time and she hears what there really thinking. To me that's a great scene because of the fact that we get to get inside the head of teenagers and get to see what there really thinking with the best example being a girl who's being bullied and just wants her bully not to turn up who hasn't thought of that when they were being bullied that's a great insight into the mind of a teenager.

The art for the book was done by Gabriel Picolo and I cannot find anything this guy has worked on according to the official DC comics website he's done work for Boom Studios and Blizzard but there's nothing saying what specifically he's worked on. His art on this book I thought was very minimalistic there's very little detail both in the backgrounds and in the character design and that was quite shocking at first but it was something that I got used to very quickly.

Just so you all know when I was saving these photos on my Laptop i've been giving them all names just so their easier to find for the above picture the file name simply read TTR (Teen Titans: Raven) Bland Love Interest. That's because we find out nothing about him we get a few lines near the end of the book but that's really it and yet somehow we're expected to buy this character as a love interest for Raven they don't even bother to give him a personality.

I was going to use two pictures to help illustrate a point here but one of them has a watermark on it so I can't really use it. This book both oddly and rather refreshingly has a lesbian couple I say it's both because it comes out of know where and plays no part in the story and so it feels like the writer forcing equality on us but on the other hand it's refreshing because it's not the sole reason why the characters used for it were created there friends with Raven and her new friend Max and they just so happen to be gay there characters first and homosexual second.

Speaking of Raven's new friends the only one we really get to know is the character of Max who Raven is staying with. I honestly like Max she's sassy and yet sensitive at the same time and I honestly feel that if DC wanted to bring the character into the main comic books she'd work really well because it's all there her character is solid as she is and so she'd only need to be written well in a few good books and she'd have a small fanbase.

I'm not going to name who the main villain of the book is but given that this book focuses on Raven you can take a pretty good guess on who it is. However I have no issue with telling you that Slade Wilson is in this book and like the lesbian couple he really adds nothing to the story he doesn't act as a red herring he just shows up every once in a while does something and then leaves and he leaves no impact what so ever.

However you could make the very real case that his impact is that someone close to Raven isn't who they say they are. I however would make the case that that's the impact of that character and not the impact that Slade himself makes. Which is both a good and bad it's good because it allows you to let those new characters grow but bad because Slade is a classic DC villain and so he should be used in a way that's more fitting.

Now since this is a superhero book that does mean I have to talk about the action that's seen in the book itself. Which very oddly enough there isn't that much action in the book itself the only real action scene comes near the end of the big where Raven and Max have to take down the big bad with help from Max's mother which I thought was super odd because this is a super hero book and so one expects there to be at least a few action scenes sprinkled throughout the book but nope we get one and that's it.

What I did find super annoying is that after the big bad has been defeated the book carries on going for quite a few more pages and i'm sat here going please just end already. I get the feeling that the writer was trying to set up the other books but couldn't fit it in anyway and so just stuck it all in at the end because the ending feels like one big set up for another book which luckily we are getting next year.

Overall while this wasn't a great book by any means it also wasn't a bad one either for everything that I liked about the book I found something that I didn't like or was just predictable and so Teen Titans: Raven gets a 5 out of 10 from me and yes the next book in this line is Teen Titans: Beast Boy it looks like there giving all of the titans there own books which honestly makes me wonder how there going to do Robin but we'll have to wait until next summer for the Beast Boy book to come out.
