Stripperella Review

Guys this was a review that i was going to do over the weekend but I feel that i've seen enough episodes to really do it now. The great Stan Lee recently passed away and why he did bring us many , many , many memorable characters every creator can always make something bad and this is that something bad so here is my review of *sigh* Stripperella.

The premise of this show is stripper *sigh* Erotica Jones is an undercover secret agent and has to defend the world from various criminals. There really isn't a plot each episode is self contained so it really doesn't matter which episode you star with and i'll admit the setup does allow for some fun scenarios and the show does take advantage of that but the issue is the stories are so badly done it's laughable.

The show starred Pamela Anderson as Erotica Jones ,  Tom Kenny as Kevin Calhoun , Maurice LaMarche as Chief Stroganoff , Jill Talley as Giselle ,  Sirena Irwin as Persephone ,  Mark Hamill as various characters and I cannot believe i;m going to say this but WWE chairman Vince McMahon as Dirk McMahon. Wow what can I say about the acting in this show it's pretty freaking bad it's laughable at how bad the acting gets in this show even Pamela Anderson who's a pretty bad actress is bad in this show.

Now the worst animated show that Marvel made was in my opinion the 90's Hulk series that show ran of a respectful two seasons and for many people that was the introduction to the character. This show however ran for thirteen episodes yup it's that bad that Spike the network that was airing the show canned it after just one season how can a show be that bad that it lasts only thirteen episodes that really is just beyond me.

From what i can gather the show was animated by Spike Animation and after a quick google search I can tell you that I found nothing on this company so i have no idea what they worked on or even if there still going but if there work on this show is anything to go by then chances are they closed down. Incase it wasn't made clear by what I just said the animation in this show is pretty freaking bad it's not even so bad it's good like the acting is it's just bad in every way you can think of it's bad.

Pam not only starred in the show but also served as it's creative consultant meaning she had a lot of say in what went on in the show and trust me do you really know it because the character Erotica Jones is pretty much Pam herself in animated form. Everything that you'd think of when you think of Pam Anderson is in the character of Erotica Jones both love animals , both do work for charity they pretty much are the exact same person there's even an episode where Erotica freaks out over the chance to meet Pam.

This show started airing in June 2003 and it was done airing by April of the following year yeah i don't know why it took a thirteen episode series several months to air it's first and only season but for some reason that's what Spike chose to do with this show my guess is even they knew the show was going to suck but even so that doesn't seem like the best of moves since back in 2003 Pam was a fairly big name so the show could have done well.

What I was really shocked by is the fact that the late Stan Lee himself has a pretty small role in the show as this crackpot type inventor he only shows up every now and then but still Stan Lee said yes to this show just give that a minuet to sink in. Like the previous anime that I reviewed which is so bad I refuse to even name it this show is really sexual pretty much all of the male character are perverts which makes sense for the scenes in the stripclub but not when there out on the street it doesn't.

Do you like James Bond? because if you do then this show has you covered i'm not even kidding there's a lot of references to the franchise in this show there's a character names Pushy Galore who then changes her her name to Octopushy and episode six is titled You Only Lick Twice. Guys I love the James Bond franchise but these references where bad and the fact that this show came out when there was no James Bond film being made to me says the makers of this show were hoping that kids still liked the franchise they were three years to early to make those kind of guesses.

This show seems to really like showing of Pam I swear to god there's an a*s shot at least once in every episode and i'm sat here going yeah she was pretty sexy back then but come on guys get over it. That's just the tip of perveberg tho because there's two gadget guys who only want to perv on our main character and those scenes are played for laughs that is just so much nope that a number hasn't been invented for me to describe what percentage of a nope that really is.

If you thought that this show wouldn't do any fat shaming then you'd be wrong because that's the point of the first two episodes because apparently being overweight is bad and you should feel bad for having those extra pounds and I have to ask why did people allow that to be in there show it's not a good thing even taking into account that this show is made for adults it's not something that should be present in the show.

I'l be honest some of the jokes in this show are pretty funny but alot of the jokes are stupid fourth wall breaking jokes where a character will tell a bad joke and then try to justify why it's a bad joke those jokes just aren't funny because at the end of the day it's still a bad joke. There's a lot of sex jokes in this show like way more then should ever be allowed and i'll admit one or two of them did get a smile out of me but there just bad jokes.

You know how you know that Pam is the star of this show because every female stripper goes naked in this show and while she does strip they do that Austin Powers joke where they have people walk infront of the character and whatever there holding is preventing them from being nude but the difference was it was funny when Austin Powers did that joke here it's not.

Overall this is a show that's so bad it's good like you guys should honestly check this show out just so you can see how bad it really is it gets a 4.5 out of 10 from me.

Eiken Review

Boy oh boy anime fans do I have some thoughts about this series for years now i've seen clips of it on Youtube usually with people saying it's a bad anime and i've seen pictures of it online and it has been on my list of things to watch for a while well now the time has finally come for me to sit down and talk about Eiken so here we go.

Now here is where I would usually list of whatever the plot of the series or movie might be but this series has decided to do me a favor and not have a plot. Yeah that's right there's no plot at all to this series heck I even considered calling it panty shots the anime because there's more panty shots in this anime then there is actual plot thank god this anime was only two episodes long imagine if this thing was thirteen or god forbid twenty five episodes long.

As is usual with these anime reviews i'm only reviewing the dubbed version of the show and so starring in this terrible show is Bryce Papenbrook as Densuke , Stephanie Sheh as Chiharu , Cindy Robinson as Kirika , Rebecca Forstadt as Komoe and Kyoko , Mona Marshall as Grace Lin , Jessica Gee as Yuriko and Kathy Keller as Advisory Teacher / The Teacher.

How do I put this the acting in the show is the best thing in it and that's saying something because there are times where the acting is pretty freaking bad I can't really blame the actors here because alot of them are really good voice actors but the issue is there not given alot to work with both in terms of plot and in terms of character everything is virtually nonexistent and that comes down to the show makers since the actors can only do so much.

When the acting is bad it's really bad and that kills me to say because alot of these actors are famous dub actors but there are times where a line delivery is of and it's very noticeable like very noticeable and i'm sat here wondering why didn't they use a better take or was the dubbing staff to busy laughing at how bad this show is to give a damn.

Here is where I would normally say like how animated the show and give my thoughts on the animation and trust me I will be talking about the animation there's just something else I want to talk about more. Now I can handle a show that doesn't have any plot heck I can even handle a show that has alot of fan service but what I cannot handle is the fact that not only do they give an ELEVEN year old very big boobs but alot of those pant shots I mentioned they to her that is just one hundred degrees of wrong no person in there right mind would want to watch a show where an eleven year old has bigger boobs then the older girls on show nor would would they want to watch a show where that same character gets a tone of panty shots.

The animation for the show was done by J.C. Staff  who have worked on Prison School and i'll admit that the animation isn't as bad as I thought it would be don't get me wrong it's clearly not there best work but considering that it could have been alot worse i'm happy with animation that is just ok yes the backgrounds aren't as detailed as other shows and the animation isn't as fluid but in my mind it could have been ten times worse.

This show / OVA is borderline hentai i'm not even kidding when I say that it's so close to hentai that it might as well be one heck if you had two of the characters kissing it would have been considered one because of the fact that this show is so adult but it's not adult in it's themes or it's plot but instead it's adult because of boobs and that's it.

Now i've watched alot of Hanna-Barbara over the past year or so and if you've seen any of there shows then you'll know that they repeat alot of animation this series repeats more animation then even they did and it's not like it's suitable like it's just the backgrounds that are repeating like in shows like The Flintstones for example no when they repeat animation my god do you notice it and that's not a good thing at all.

This show trys to have romance init but the issue is the romance is so badly done that it takes you a good while to even notice that there's meant to be a romance going on I will grant people this the romance is better then in any movie where the two people involved spend less then five minuets together so that's a plus but tho the two people involved barely spend anytime together so we don't get a sense on if they'll work well as a couple or not.

I wish I could comment on the jokes in this series I really do but the show has no jokes to speak of heck I don't think I laughed once during both the episodes if anything I groaned more times then I laughed. It should have been really easy to have funny jokes in this show you have girls with really large boobs in your main cast that's something you can make fun of yes I know that's only one joke but it's one more then what this show had.

Overall this show is perhaps the worst anime i've ever watched and i'm so glad that it was only two episodes if this thing was a whole series I would have freaking lost my mind I don't think it needs saying but i'm going to say it anyway this show gets a big fat 0 out of 10 from me.

Puffs Filmed Live Off-Broadway Review Some Spoilers Might Be Ahead

Harry Potter fans i've reviewed alot of the films and even the script to the stage play but i've never reviewed or for that matter even watched a Harry Potter stage production before well now that has changed because i've just finished watching a stage production and here is my review of Puffs Filmed Live Off-Broadway.

The play basically retells the events of the books but it tells them from a different perspective that being from the point of view of several Hufflepuff students and it throws in a comedic twist. I admit when i first downloaded the play I had no idea what to expect so it wasn't very high on my list of things to watch but after watching a clip of it online it shot right up there and while there might not be a story which to me is fine because if you want the story you can just read the books or see the films it's worth watching just to see what they add to it.

Since the cast list is so small each actor is playing at least two roles so starring in the play we have Madeline Bundy as Suzy , Jessie Cannizzaro as Sally , Anna Dart as Hannah , Alex Haynes as J.Finch , Reginald Keith Jackson as Oliver , Sonia Mena as Meghan , Andy Miller as Leanne , Zac Moon as Wayne and Harry Waller as The Narrator.

I admit I wasn't expecting the cast to be any good in fact I would have just settled for OK but in truth the cast is pretty good there really good when it comes to the comedy and while they don't really get the emotional moments they do there best with them and for me that's enough but i also have a feeling that they could have done better with those moments if the script allowed for it.

Considering that this is a stage production they get alot of cinematic angles i'm not sure if that's because they were filming something so they had the crew for it or what but there are shots in here which look really good. Even tho the premise of this play basically follows all of the books they do manage to add in there own storyline there's one that starts near the end of what would be the first book and it has a really good pay off.

Now just because this focuses on a different bunch of characters doesn't mean that the more well known characters don't make an appearance and it's really fun to see how those characters get represented i'm not going to say how there presented in this production but if you ever do see this you will laugh at how the represent Ron and i personally love what they did with Cedric I thought it was really funny and yet at the same time something that i'd never thought of.

I don't think this needs saying since they do all seven of the books but incase you guys think of it as a spoiler i've thrown up the old spoiler warning. They do the Battle Of Hogwarts and while there are jokes added in there it's mainly treated as a serious issue and i'll be the first to say I didn't expect them to do the battle at all so when it started I was really surprised by it heck they even do a spin on the harry and Dumbeldoor scene from the final book which was really funny.

There's alot of jokes in this play and all of them are really funny I don't think there was ever a time where I wasn't laughing out loud they even throw in a pretty funny Fantastic Beasts reference and a Doctor Who reference in the same scene. One of the jokes that really caught me of guard but at the same time was really freaking funny was learning who did the sex ed class at Hogwarts i'm not going to spoil but the first person you think of when you think of sex ed at Hogwarts is exactly who it is.

Overall if you ever get the chance I suggest you go and order the DVD which you can get from puffs the play . com no spaces it really is worth it because it's so funny and since this is basically a fan made thing i'm not going to give this a rating.

Doctor Who "The Witchfinders" SPOILERISH!!!!!!!!!!! Review

Doctor Who fans we are in the home stretch for this series and I have to say that while this series has had it's up's and it's downs the series as whole has been really solid so let's see if that trend does continue with my review of this weeks episode The Witchfinders.

The plot of this weeks episode is The Doctor and friends find themselves in 17th century Lancashire and find that they are in the middle of a witch hunt. I'm not going into anymore detail about the plot because of the fact that I think it really does need to be seen to be believed but I can say that the story was really well told and was pretty original which for a show that's just turned fifty five is pretty huge achievement.

The guest stars for this episode are Tilly Steele as Willa Twiston , original X-Men movie star Alan Cumming as King James and former Benidorm star Siobhan Finneran as Becka Savage. I don't know if anyone else thinks this or not but the guest stars for this series have all put in great performances and the same thing is true for this episode because all of the guest stars really do deliver and it now makes me want to see who's going to be guest starring in next weeks episode.

Of course our leads are Jodie Whittaker as The Doctor , Bradley Walsh as Graham , Tosin Cole as Ryan and Mandip Gill as Yaz. I think it's come as a bit of a cliche to say that both Bradley and Jodie are fantastic in episodes but they really are great in this series and in this episode and we actually got a bit of backstory about Yaz which was nice and both she and Ryan turn in pretty decen performances there not really given much to do tho in the episode.

Guys and girls from this point onwards there will be slight spoilers to the episode so you have been warned. The only real issue I have with the episode is more personal then anything but there doing a witch hunt episode and there not setting it in Salem to me that's a huge missed opportunity since that is where the most famous witch hunt happened so it would have made sense for them to set the episode there and tech younger fans about what was going on there at that time.

I will say that this episode felt I don't wanna say it SJWish but that's the feeling that I was getting because of the fact that almost every woman in the episode comments on the fact that it's hard for them to get by in those times and they have a King act sexist towards The Doctor don't get me wrong tho he was acting like it but from his point of view that would have been seen as the norm and none of the females living in the village at the time would have known any different so having them say that it's hard for them in those times feels very out of place.

Now i'm not a history fan so I have no idea if what they said about King James was true or not but it did add a little something to his character and that to me made him interesting because without that bit of backstory he would have come of a boring character to me which would have been a shame because like I said before he's played really well by Alan Cumming.

I'm just going to come right out and say it the monsters this weeks were basically Zombies actually stop and think about it for a second they reanimate the dead that's what a zombie is but I will admit that these creatures are really creepy looking i'm not going to say nightmare inducing but they will at least make you pull a blanket over your eyes.

Incase you were wondering if this Doctor was going to be action packed then this episode kind of answers that because she straight up jumps in a lake in order to try and save someone from dying and that's something I don't think any of the other Doctors have done and no i'm not going to re-watch all the episodes just to find out because there's at least a thousand episodes but I can say that it was refreshing to see The Doctor do that.

Since i've not been giving thus guy much credit this series i'm going to mention him right now the score by Segun Akinola is for me the best score in this series i'm not going to say it's the best since the show came back in 2005 but it's easily the best in series 11 every track fits the scene perfectly and none of it over powers the scene it's in.

Overall this was a really good and fun episode it's also an episode that does have some flaws but if you like episodes about witches then this is the episode for you so I give this weeks episode a solid 7.5 out of 10 from me.

Looney Tunes Original Shorts Review

Looney Tunes fans i've reviewed alot of stuff to do with the Looney Tunes characters from TV shows to movies but the one thing that i've never done is review the original Looney Tunes shorts and so in order to bring you this very review i've watched thirty of the original shorts back to back and i've done it all within the space of a few hours so here is my review of Looney Tunes.

Now since these shorts were made for cinema's and are only less then ten minuets long and they of course have no plot I won't be able to talk about things like the story because the set up changes every cartoon but I can say that some of the set ups do allow for a lot of jokes and what I noticed while watching the Road Runners cartoons is that those cartoons are like the Tom & Jerry shorts in that you only get a few minuets devoted to the set up and the rest is pure slapstick and it's not just in the Road Runner cartoons either it's in alot of the cartoons.

Since there are alot of cartoons and there's alot of actors i'm only going to mention actors who I know for a fact were in the cartoons I saw so we have Mel Blanc , June Foray and Arthur Q. Bryan. What more is there to say about these guys there legends and they created the voices for the characters that we all love so I can't really say anything about there performances because of course there all great and without those voice the characters we all know and love might be totally different.

Now I mentioned that I watched thirty of the original just to give you all an idea of how many episodes i'd usually watch for something that's eleven minuets long i'd normally watch around eleven episodes or so so compare that to the thirty i've just watched it's nearly triple the amount of episodes i'd watch and you know what I honestly didn't mind it because of how much I love Looney Tunes so for once this really didn't feel like that much of a chore for me.

I don't really think that it needs saying that Warner Bros. did the animation for all of these shorts but I do think it will be unfair of pretty much anyone to compare the animation in these shorts to that of a TV series since these shorts had the budget of a film and with that in mind I can say that the animation was really good there's a lot of inventive angles that would have been hard to do even with today's technology so imagine how hard it was in 50's and 60's and not only did they pull them of but they also look really good.

Here is something that I found out while watching whenever there's a Friz Freleng cartoon the backgrounds / layouts would always be done by Hawley Pratt who would go on to direct The Lorax special so really if you knew the names to look out for you could guess the name of the director before that credit even showed up.

Speaking of the directors the Looney Tunes these shorts had some of the best directors in animation history working on them with the likes of Chuck Jones , Tex Avery , Robert Mckimpson and Friz Freleng all directing Looney Tunes shorts so just by those names alone which I know won't mean a thing to modern animation fans but those are names to be respected for what they did in the field of animation.

While the Road Runner cartoons were like Tom & Jerry cartoons and they do have some really funny moments they were never my favorite cartoons to watch both growing up as a kid and now as an adult to me they were just long and boring and i'll admit while I know longer think there long and boring it's now because I found both characters to be boring there was just nothing interesting to me about them I have respect for those characters for making us laugh without any dialog but that doesn't mean I have to love them.

Here's one thing that you might not have realized but at least one of the cartoons has a dark ending the cartoon Ballot Box Bunny is really freaking dark it ends with Bugs and Sam playing Russian Roulette but it ends when bugs pulls the trigger and a gun shot sound is heard. Granted they do then reveal that Bugs missed himself and he shot Sam but even so that's a dark joke to end a cartoon on if that cartoon was made today that joke wouldn't even be in the script.

This was honestly one of the hardest things to do because there's so many cartoons to choose from and so many characters and I wanted to have a wide range so my review could be as good as it could be so i'll admit straight up that alot of the cartoons I picked were some of my personal favorites but alot of the cartoons i've honestly not seen before so that was really interesting for me because it was like I was a kid again watching these shorts for the first time.

For me some of the best cartoons are the ones that will always make me laugh no matter how many times i've seen them and my all time personal favorite cartoon is "Duck Amuck" because of that very fact and it helps that that short has a unique set up that until that point hadn't been done before and the cartoon was so successful that they tried the same concept again years later with Bugs Bunny to less successful results and what you might not know is Duck Amuck was voted the second best cartoon of all time loosing out to "What's Opera Doc?".

These characters are so iconic that you all you have to do is just have a t-shirt with Bugs's ears on it and people will know instantly who it is and while I do know these characters as pop culture icons I have to wonder when did the team at Warner bros realize that these characters were going to be hge because there was a while in the 60's where the characters were everywhere on TV so one has to wonder if that's when they started to realize it or if it was later on.

These characters are so popular that they appeared in many TV shows with perhaps the most famous being The Bugs Bunny Show which ran for around forty years but under many different names and the most recent show being the dreadful Wabbit / New Looney Tunes but tho for me it goes to show that these characters have lasting appeal now because there appealing to young kids and the grown ups who grew up watching the original shorts can now sit down and enjoy them with any kids they might have.

Getting back to these shorts I found the backgrounds to be really great looking of course that goes back to what I said about the animation but it's still something that I feel needs to be said because when people talk about Looney Tunes they never mention the backgrounds they always mention the animation , the acting and the humor and not always in that order and while all of those are worth talking about it we should also take some time to mention the backgrounds.

Not only is there a tone of Looney Tunes TV shows there's also a lot of movies with the first five just being compilation films so you really have no excuse not to watch some Looney Tunes because there's plenty of ways to watch them but the fact they got that many films just from the shorts alone is beyond me these days producers wouldn't even make one film which is basically a clip show and yet Warners made five of them granted alot of them are bad but still it's something to be admired.

It wouldn't be a review of Looney Tunes if I didn't mention the humor yeah there still really freaking funny and what helps make these characters timeless for me is the fact that you get the jokes on two levels one as a kid and the second as an adult and that to me is truly astounding so basically you can watch them as a kid and laugh at a joke but when you see them as an adult you'll get the joke plus something you didn't notice as a kid.

What for me helps set Looney Tunes apart from something like Mickey Mouse and Tom & Jerry is the fact that alot of the Looney Tunes jokes aren't done via slapstick it's done from wordplay and when you think about it there's not that much slapstick in Looney Tunes but there is some great wordplay granted alot of it is from the master of wordplay Bugs Bunny but it's always funny and it makes the slapstick seem even funnier because of the fact that you've been laughing at just the set up to the punchline.

Overall there's nothing really new I could add to the franchise and there's no point in me giving you a rating because you'll know by now if you like this franchise or not but if you havn't done yet I urge you to check out these shorts anyway you can because they are still the best cartoons out there.

Battle Angel Dub Review

Anime fans I thought that with Alita: Battle Angel coming out in a few months time that now would be the right time to go and revisit the 1993 original OVA just to see if the movie even has a chance of being good and well here are my thoughts on Battle Angel.

Now here I would normally tell you what the plot is but since this is a two part OVA and both parts have different plots i'm going to do my best to tell the plot for both parts so the plot for episode one Rusty Angel is a professor finds the remains of a robot girl and rebuilds her in the process building a strong bond with her but that bond is threatened when someone called Chiren rebuilds her own person and gets him to try and kill our main hero.

The plot for the second episode called Tears Sign is the robots friend finds himself in a life or death situation and our main hero must try and get him out of it while at the same time trying to keep him alive. If i';m being honest I prefer the plot for the first episode just because that episode has a plot to begin with but at the same time this episode has a really emotional and dare I say it bleak ending so in this case I can't say which story I prefer because both of them work on different levels.

Now I know you've seen the title of this review so I don't need to say that i'm reviewing the dubbed version of this OVA but to let you all know i'm reviewing the American ADV version of the film so starring in this series is Amanda Winn Lee as Gally / Alita , Guil Lunde as Dr. Egon Spengler (yes I know that's not his name but i'll get more into that later) , Spike Spencer as Yugo , Brian Granveldt as Grewcica and Laura Chapman as Chiren. I have to admit that the acting in this series is alot better then what I thought it would be in my head I thought that the acting was going terrible because this is a nineties dub those weren't always the best so I was really shocked to see some actually good acting my personal favorite actor in this series was Amanda Winn Lee as Gally / Alita I honestly thought that her voice suited the character perfectly.

This OVA actually has two dubs one of them features the above cast and has alot of the names of certain characters changed but there is another dub which was released in the UK by Manga Entertainment sadly tho it was only released on VHS and there hasn't been a DVD release yet but I have a feeling that with the movie coming out next year then that might be a about to change but I still have to wonder why they would produce two different dubs or better yet why ADV would change the names of characters.

The animation for the OVA was done by Animate Film and I have to say that while the animation isn't anything mind blowing it is still pretty good you can tell that there is a lot of care and effort gone into the animation and I think that's because the animation team saw this as a chance for them to really make there name in my opinion it didn't work because no one knows who they are but it was a solid effort none the less.

Now I believe I promised you a reason as to why I called the professor Egon well that's because he looks so much like Egon from The Real Ghostbusters like i'm pretty sure that the creative team behind this OVA were fans of that show so they included Egon's character model in here but to me it was very distracting because everytime he showed up I would just start singing the ghostbusters theme song.

I said this at the start of the review but my main reason for watching the OVA is because of the upcoming movie and because of that I was mentally seeing how things would play if they do appear in that film and I have to say that for me the best ending for the film would have to be the one from the end of episode one since it's so action packed that it gives you the best ending you could hope for in anime adaptation.

I'll admit I wasn't expecting there to be any amount of gore in this OVA but there was a lot of it and honestly i'm not to sure how I feel about it on the one hand it doesn't really distract from the story of any of the episodes but at the same it feels like it's out of place in this show it's almost as if the makers of the OVA felt that in the wake of Akira that they felt like they had to add in gore to make it seem more adult without realizing that it can be adult just by it's plot and themes and not by how much gore is on screen.

I said that the second and final episode has a pretty sad ending and it's that ending that makes me say that this is an anime really made for adults because in the ending Gally / Alita's best friend / love interest dies and while that is a rather sad ending to me it could also be seen as a bleak ending because now Gally / Alita is trapped in this city that she's been trying to get out of and there's no way out for her this might be something that i'm looking far to much into but if I don't then some other a**hole will.

This OVA does have a lot of action scenes and honestly for me they were some of the best scenes in the whole OVA not that everything else was bad it's just that in those scenes that's where we got alot of the really cool stuff and it made me wish that the whole thing was like that I love a good thinking man's anime as much as the next guy but when your main character is a robot you want to see her beat alot of people up in really cool and awesome ways.

Overall i'm glad that I have seen this anime because now when I see the movie in February i'll at least have a base knowledge of the franchise and it's characters but I don't think it's a must watch for any anime fan it gets a 6.5 out of 10 from me.

Doctor Who "Kerblam" SPOILERISH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Review

Doctor Who fans it's that time of the week and would you believe it we are less then a month away before the end of series 11 and since it's Monday you know what that means so here is my review of the latest Doctor Who episode Kerblam.

The plot of this weeks episode is the Doctor and friends get a message sent from someone from Kerblam an Amazon type company and must work who and why they sent it. Story wise I thought that the episode was pretty decent it's nothing great but it's the kind of plot that one would expect from a Doctor Who episode set at an online store and it helps that the pacing for the episode is pretty good as well.

Guest starring in this episode is Julie Hesmondhalgh as Judy Maddox Lee Mack as Dan Cooper , Callum Dixon as Jarva Slade , Claudia Jessie as Kira Arlo , Leo Flanagan as Charlie Duffy and Matthew Gravelle as the Voice of Kerblam. As a fan of this person it was really cool to see Lee Mack in a Doctor Who episode and I urge everyone to go and check out his show Not Going Out it's really funny and pretty much all f the guest stars are good in this episode.

Our regular cast of course in this so that means we have Jodie Whittaker as The Doctor , Bradley Walsh as Graham , Tosin Cole as Ryan and Mandip Gill as Yaz. For once I think that they gave Yaz the right amount of things to do in this episode she gets stuck in when it comes to the action and has some nice character moments and the acting from all four leads really does help sell this episode for me.

I just had to put up a picture of the Fez and I have to say that the BBC really did mess up when it comes to promoting this episode because they released the clip of Jodie getting the Fez at least a day or two before the episode aired so it really wasn't a surprise when she opened the box and pulled it out I have a feeling that that scene would have got more of a cheer or a laugh if they didn't release the scene and instead released another scene from the episode.

This episode has so many red herrings that i'm surprised red herring from A Pup Named Scooby-Doo didn't show up honestly for me the most logical choice for the main bad guy would have been the robots themselves and having it be one of the cleaners to me isn't the best choice while it does make sense in terms of the story up to that point we've had no reason to suspect him as being the one behind all of these people going missing and he has no motivation for doing it.

I'll admit that the whole sequence with Ryan , Yaz and Charlie going down to dispatch was perhaps the most fun sequence in the whole episode and it had me wondering why the whole episode wasn't more fun they had the chance to do some really fun stuff in this episode and they would have had the guest stars to help pull it of but they don't really take advantage of it.

Overall there was some aspects to this episode that I really liked but none that I loved so I can't really say that this is the worst episode of the series and it's clearly not the best but it is still a really good episode so it gets a 7 out of 10 from me.

She-Ra and the Princesses of Power Review

I did it thirteen episodes in less then a day that's how dedicated I was to bringing you guys this review and I wasn't doing this on a weekend like I normally would have i'm doing this thing mid freaking week and so if you havn't seen the title already here is my review of the new Netflix series She-Ra and the Princesses of Power.

The premise of this reboot is the series follows Adora an orphan raised by Hordak the tyrant who rules the planet Etheria through his evil Horde. One day after getting lost in the woods Adora finds a magic sword that transforms her into the Princess of Power She-Ra. Realizing the suffering that the Horde has inflicted on the planet and its people Adora joins a resistance group of other magical girls the Princess Alliance in order to liberate Etheria from Hordak's grasp. This show doesn't really have a plot for alot of the episodes in that regard it's like any show that just has a something of the week or episode but there are elements that might seem small that happen in earlier episodes but go on to have a big impact later on in the series.

Starring in the show is Aimee Carrero as Princess Adora / She-Ra , Karen Fukuhara as Glimmer , AJ Michalka as Catra , Marcus Scribner as Bow , Reshma Shetty as Angella , Lorraine Toussaint as Shadow Weaver , Keston John as Hordak , Lauren Ash as Scorpia and Christine Woods as Entrapta. I'll be the first to admit that i wasn't expecting the acting in this show to be that good and at times I was right because sometimes the acting can be fairly bad with the actors delivering a line badly but those moments are few and far between and the acting is really good alot of the time.

This show boats about being diverse and yet it's entire writing room and for the most part it's episode directors are all women heck even alot of the cast is made up of women that to me is not diversity or equality if they wanted to be truly diverse and have equality then make the writers fifty percent men and fifty percent women and spread that out to the directors and the cast but by the fact that they didn't to me says there not diverse.

Now if you've followed everything released from this show you'll know that there was some controversy surrounding the redesign of She-Ra and when I say controversy it was just people complaining on Twitter. In my eyes this new design does work in context of the show which is how people should have thought of it instead of just complaining about a still image and given that this new version of the character is meant to be around fourteen years old it makes sense that they wouldn't make her as sexy as she was in the original.

The show was animated by Dreamworks Animation and I like the rest of you noticed the fact that the show uses what has come to be known as the "cal arts" style and while that style doesn't really suit the show it is a rather interesting look for the show as for the animation I thought that the show was really well animation for the most part it uses traditional 2D hand drawn animation apart from some certain things which are done in 3D CGI and the two do blend rather well together.

One of things that I noticed while watching the show is that Adora never changes clothes there'll be one or two times where she has to change her outfit but for the vast majority of the time what you see in the above picture is what she wears for the whole first season does she have any other outfit at all or does she just have rows and rows of the same outfit in her wardrobe and why didn't the other characters or even Adora herself mention this fact.

Let's briefly talk about the transformation sequence unlike other female heroes who transform Adora's transformation is short and sweet and the bad guys don't wait around for her to transform in fact alot of the time there running full speed towards her and that to me is really refreshing to see since it means that the villains could attack her mid transformation and get the upper hand they don't do that but still they could and I don't really think that's a spoiler since it's kind of a given.

Now that i've had some time to let this really sink in the show handles it's male characters pretty bad there really just there to be the comic relief apart from the main villain Hordak and that to me is pretty bad because we're meant to care for these characters and we can't do that if all your having them do is try and tell bad jokes or make funny faces if this show wants to promote equality then why not make some of the female characters comic relief characters mix it up a little bit.

Netflix did something that I don't think they have done because the show was originally meant to come out on Friday but about a month or so ago they put out another trailer revealing that the premier date had changed to three days earlier that to me says that they have alot of faith in this show because there willing to move the release date up with little to no notice and if you think about it they didn't do it for The Dragon Prince or Disenchantment both of which are better shows but they did it for this little show which at the time had a little bit going against it.

I admit when I heard that they were only for now rebooting She-ra I was nervous about how they would handle her origin since it's so tightly connected to He-Man but I honestly think they did the best job that they could have done they don't say she has a brother or anything but the way they explain it leaves it open incase they want to introduce He-Man in a possible second season or even his own show.

Now since this an action show I have to talk about the action sequences for me they can at times be pretty dull which is a shame because this is a fantasy show and alot of the characters have magical powers but when they are good my god do you know it there's a lot of action scenes in this show where I was going "That was so freaking cool" and that's the best things I can say about any action scene.

Overall this isn't a bad reboot it does a good job of updating all of the characters and the story but at the same time it's a show that does have it's fair share of the problems and I don't think this needs saying but it is a show made for little kids but that doesn't mean that adults won't be able to find some enjoyment out of it so it gets a 7 out of 10 from me.
