Fairy Tail the Movie: Phoenix Priestess Dub Review

Hello there anime lovers i thought since Naruto has just finished it's run in anime form i would review a movie from a franchise which is also due to end soon so here is my review of Fairy Tail the Movie: Phoenix Priestess.

To put it simply the plot of the movie is Fairy Tail has to stop two half's of a stone being put together that's really it. To the films credit this is all the story a Fairy Tail movie really needs and it does do a good job of telling that story but that being said it does have pacing issues which at points make the film feel more boring then it really needs to be i was ready to turn it off by the thirty minuet mark but i stuck with it.

All the cast from the English dub reprise there roles and those include Cherami Leigh as Lucy Heartfilia, Jessica Calvello as Éclair who is a movie only character , Todd Haberkorn as Natsu Dragneel and Colleen Clinkenbeard as Erza Scarlet those four names are only a small handful of the actors who are in this movie and i have to say the dub for this movie was really well done and i have to say that i really liked Cherami Leigh as Lucy the voice she uses for the character just matches with how i thought Lucy should sound perfectly well and i hope that she gets a chance to work on the second Fairy Tail movie.

Out of the new characters the only one that really stood out was Eclair i found her alot more interesting then the returning cast and i thought that her story was really tragic she is a character who has seen everyone she loves die and because of that she is pretty messed up in the head as anyone would be.

Now i would mention the character designs but since most of these characters appear in the TV show i won't bother but i will the new characters look really good. Also doing a good job is the animation Fairy Tail is known for it's great animation (which sadly didn't make it to the 2014 series) and that is true for this movie unlike the 2014 series there was know animation errors and the movements and facial expressions were really well done honestly in terms of animation this film is pretty much perfect.

Fairy tail is also known for it's fan service especially when it comes to it's female characters and may god is there alot of fan service moments in this movie to be fair most of the time when it happens it's when nothing really important is happening but there are also times when it happens and it totally destroys all the tension that the movie has built up and it's quite annoying.

The other thing that Fairy Tail does really well is the action and again it's on top form here i was never bored when the action scenes came on since this is a fantasy film it's not just restricted to the standerd punch and kick you see the various members of the Fairy tail guild use there powers and it makes each action feel different and fresh

The music for this film was done by Yasuharu Takanashi with the opening theme sung by Jang Keun-suk and the ending by Aya Hirano (Lucy's Japanese Voice Actress) and for the most part the music is typical Fairy Tail by that i mean it mixes rock music with folk music altho i have to say that easily the standout piece of music was the opening theme it got me really excited for the movie.

Overall this movie is made for fans of the anime series so if your not a fan Fairy Tail going into this movie then chances are you won't be a fan when the movie ends for me this movie is a 7 out of 10

Power Rangers In Space "Countdown To Destruction" Review

Hello there Rangers fans here is my final Power Rangers review before the new movie comes out in just under a weeks time and i couldn't think of a better way to end this series then with Countdown To Destruction an episode which was meant to be the finale of the Power Rangers Franchise.

The plot line for this two parter is Dark Specter launches a universe wide attack with Astronema leading the attack on Earth and thus it's up to the Power Rangers to defeat evil once and for all. Not gonna lie this was a pretty epic episode and it was a great way to end In Space and what is now known as the Zordon Era for once there was no pacing issues.

As the rangers we have Tracy Lynn Cruz. and the yellow space ranger , Patricia Ja Lee as the pink space ranger , Christopher Khayman Lee as the red space ranger , Justin Nimmo as the silver space ranger , Roger Velasco as the black space ranger and Selwyn Ward as the blue space ranger and the main villain is played by Melody Perkins. Honestly for a Power Rangers episode the acting wasn't that bad it wasn't great but it wasn't bad either all of the space rangers do a great job as does Mel Perkins but for me the best group of actors in this episode are all the returning villains since there clearly having the most fun in the episode.

Since Power Rangers was adapted from Super Sentai at times it would be obvious what footage was American and what wasn't well for this episode i honestly had a hard time for the most part telling what was American footage and what wasn't and by that i mean whenever i saw what was obviously a modal shot then i knew it was filmed in Japan but to me it looked like this episode used mostly American footage and it looks really freaking great.

For me what really made this episode was seeing Bulk & Skull not only defend the Power Rangers not once but twice but also lead the charge during the third act because it was such a character defining moment for those two characters who had been getting more brave as the original shows went on so to see them fight off a bunch of monsters was truly satisfying.

The suits for In Space come from Denji Sentai Megaranger and if i'm being honest they don't look that good since Megaranger revolved around a game the suits were made to look like a game controller and that really doesn't mesh well with the space theme i think it would have helped if Saban had changed the suits a bit.

I have to talk about Dark Specter just because to the reason that they used the exact same suit for Maligore and they thought that no one would notice it's a great suit don't get me wrong but they could have at least have come up with something different otherwise it looks like the Tirbo rangers didn't really defeat Maligore at all maybe Saban is so cheap he thought " I've got this suit might as well use it" i'm on to you Saban (please don't hurt me).

Honestly guys this was a really great episode and from now it's the final that all Power Ranger finals shall be judged by i give this episode a solid 8.5 out 10

Boruto: Naruto the Movie Dub Review

Hello there animation lovers and movie fans today i'm here to give you a review of an anime movie that has only just came out with an english dub and that movie is Boruto: Naruto The Movie so let's get it started.

The plot of this movie is Boruto Uzumaki is the son of Naruto Uzumaki the Seventh Hokage of the Hidden Leaf Village. Having heard stories of Naruto's deeds as a hero Boruto wishes to surpass his father. Following Sarada Uchiha, Boruto meets his father's friend, Sasuke Uchiha and requests to be trained by him. To me this film is more of a father and son story story because you get to see Boruto and his dad bond throughout the movie and you get to see the hardships that that relationship goes through but tho the film has some issues when it regards pacing sections of the film drag alot.

The voice cast for this film includes Amanda C. Miller , Cherami Leigh , Maile Flanagan ,  Yuri Lowenthal , Robbie Daymond and many more i won't name all of the cast in this film because there's a lot but honestly the voice actors do a great job considering some of them are voicing new characters and are new to the franchise in terms of voices the only gripe i have is that for some reason Naruto now has a raspy deep voice which is really annoying to listen to especially when it comes to the films more lighthearted moments.

This film was animated by Studio Pierrot who have worked on all the other Naruto movies and the TV shows and to be honest the animation isn't that bad in the movie there's a lot of great character expressions and fluid movement. The character designs in this movie i thought were really good each character not only looks different but also has a different feel to them which was something that i liked.

Now this wouldn't be an action film if there wasn't any action and the action in this film i thought was handled really well there not just the the typical punch and kick but there's also elements of magic thrown in and you get to see the characters use their environment and that is something that i really like as it makes each action scene look and feel different from the one that came before it and they nearly always involve these little character moments as well which is great.

The music for this film was done by Yasuharu Takanashi who does a really great job in this movie i could not praise this guy enough for me tho the best piece of music is the track that plays during the first half of the third act it has a heavy rock vibe to it which i really freaking love.

Overall i would say that if you didn't watch any of the previous Naruto movies or TV shows then this is the movie for you it acts as the perfect jumping of point for new fans if you were a fan of the franchise then you guys will like it as well for me tho this movie is a solid an 8 out of 10

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers "White Light" Review

Hello again ranger fans here we are yet again with another ground breaking episode this one is ground breaking because it adds a fan favorite ranger and features the return of a legendary Power Ranger this is my review of the two part episode "White Light" lets begin.

So then the plot of this two part story is that the gang find out that Tommy will be back in town by the end of the week and Alpha and Zordon are busy with something secret and thus shut down all of the command center's defenses and so with all of that going on Lord Zedd decides to create a monsters to help take down the rangers for good. I have to admit this was a really good episode in terms of story i really can't fault it other then the fact that if i was in charge i would have down certain things different the story is well paced and is pretty epic.

Now i want name all of the cast since most of the cast in this episode were in the very first episode so joining the cast either from the back end of season 1 or the start of season 2 are Jason David Frank as Tommy Oliver (White Ranger), Ed Neil as Lord Zedd, Robert L. Manahan as the voice of Zordon, Carla Perez as Rita Repulsa, Barbara Goodson as the voice of Rita Repulsa and Tony Oliver as the voice of Saba. In terms of acting the series regulars have gotten better and i'm glad because this episode really needed good acting to help pull it off JDF kills it again as Tommy and his entrance as the white ranger is really freaking epic overall the acting was pretty much what you'd expect from a Power Rangers episode.

I have to admit that as much as i loved the white rangers entrance there was something that happend right after that really bugged me he takes of his helmet and then a few minuets later re-morphs to me that makes no sense right didn't he just put the helmet back on and why did Zordon make him the leader of the group that again makes no sense in terms of fighting he's got more skills then the rest of the team but in terms of being a ranger shouldn't that job go to one of the others maybe i'm thinking to much about this.

Now admittedly i forgot to mention the suits in my last review but the white ranger suit look freaking epic as hell i really love the golden parts on his helmet the original suits were great to look at but this one took what i liked about the originals and upped it to about 11 whoever came up with this suit well done and i hope you got a promotion.

This episode did something that i thought was really great and it's something that looked really creepy they turned of all the lights of the command center it's a small and simple thing and yet for this show i think it worked it looked like a set from a horror movie and i have to thank the makers for doing that.

I've been gushing about the episode so far but that doesn't mean there isn't stuff in there that i wish wasn't for starters there's a whole Bulk and Skull subplot which really goes know where and really only serves as filler the other thing is the power rangers get beat so easily in the first episode and it makes them look weak and that's not what you want to do when your making a superhero show.

Now then this is where things get interesting because the original suits come from Kyōryū Sentai Zyuranger but all of the stuff featuring the white ranger comes from Gosei Sentai Dairanger which means that from now on when ever we see the team fighting it's all american footage and i have to be honest in this episode it was kinda hard to tell what was American and what was stock footage since Zedd was made for Power Rangers we know all of his scenes are American but does that also go for the fight scenes in this episode as well since he does send out his putties to attack the Rangers when there morphed.Speaking of the action scenes they were really done i thought we got to see alot of great moves done by the teens when there not morphed which serves to show how much stronger they have gotten over time.

Overall this was a really good two part episode it reintroduces Tommy as well as introducing the white ranger i give this episode a solid 7 out of 10

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers " Day Of The Dumpster" Review

Hey there guys you might not know this about me but i was and still am a Power Rangers fan and i thought with the new movie due out by the end of the month i thought i would look back at some of the key episodes now i want to make it clear i will not be doing this for every season only until we reach In Space nor will i be looking at the green with evil arc if it's multiple episodes then it has be three episodes since it would take to long to get through them all ok let us begin with the very first Power Rangers episode "Day Of The Dumpster".

Ok the plot of this episode is that an evil alien witch named Rita escapes her space dumpster prison which is located on the moon and vows to destroy the first planet she sees (earth) now it's up to Zordon who is a floating head in a tube and his robot assistant Alpha 5 to recruit a team of heroes to defend the world. This episode is really freaking fast paced no sooner are we introduced to Rita are we then seeing the teens teleported to the command center i was hoping that this episode would have been made as a two parter since it would make things more epic but since it wasn't i have to say that this episode is way to fast.

The main cast for the show and the episode are Austin St. John as Jason Lee Scott, (Red Ranger), The late Thuy Trang as Trini Kwan, (Yellow Ranger) Walter Emanuel Jones as Zack Taylor, (Black Ranger), Amy Jo Johnson as Kimberly Hart, (Pink Ranger), David Yost as Billy Cranston, (Blue Ranger) , David Fielding as Zordon , Machiko Soga as Rita Repulsa and Barbara Goodson as the voice of Rita Repulsa the actors i've listed are only a small handful who appears in the episode and for there first time out there not that bad yes at times the acting from the teens can be pretty bad but since this was episode 1 for me at least the acting was ok.

The writing in this episode i thought was very mixed because when you had something good like Zordon's speech explaining the powers you would have something bad for example most of the scenes on the moon palace but then again the writing on this show has never been that great the writing in the new series so far has been terrible but that didn't stop me from having fun with the episode.

Let's be honest there was only two why most of male audience watched the show 1) the action scenes 2) to see the hot pink ranger i belong to both of those and yes the action scenes in this episode are pretty good to be honest but like the story there also really rushed it's like there not only trying to do these really cool moves but there also rushing to get to the next part of the story it really bugged me.

Now this episode and the first and second series of Mighty Morphin got there footage from a show called Kyōryū Sentai Zyuranger and while it won't be that obvious in later seasons of Mighty Morphin here it's painfully obvious what's stock footage shot in Japan and what's shot in America for instance when the teens first Morph they find them selves in the city with only a brief explanation as to why they are there and it's obviously not American footage it was almost laughable at how obvious it was.

I can't talk about this episode and not talk about the awesome intro and the even more awesome intro music Ron Wasserman really killed it with the opening music so much so that whenever someone thinks of Power Rangers they think of that awesome guitar and it's so great that they even used a remixed version of the song for the 2011 and 2013 series but you know what theme's even better the Bulk And Skull theme i'm kidding of course.

Overall for a first episode it wasn't that bad it did all the things a first episode should do it introduced the main heroes and villains and set up the story for the show but like i've mentioned it does have problems and sadly those problems keep it from being a perfect 10 so for me this episode is a 7 out of 10
