Love, Death & Robots Volume 4 Review

It's safe to say that one of the best modern adult animated shows out there is Love, Death & Robots as the show quite literally has something for anybody who loves adult animation. Well the show has just released it's fourth season and well since i've not only spoke about all of the previous seasons of this show thus far but also reviewed an episode from it's series as well you all just knew that I had to check out this new season the very first chance that I got and so then join me as I review the latest season of the show that proves that animation isn't just for kids with the show in question being called simply "Love, Death & Robots" enjoy.

With this being an anthology show it doesn't have one continuing plot to speak off as all of the episodes have different plots. Now the interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plots that are actually featured / presented to us in this very show well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plots that are actually featured / presented to us in this very show was in all honesty not that bad with this season of the show having a very ride range of plots with some of them being more dramatic like "Spider Rose" for example and some of them being alot more comedic in nature like for example "The Other Large Thing" both of which have very different tones from one another and yet both of there plots work really well with Spider Rose dealing with someone who is out for revenge against her husbands killer and The Other Large Thing dealing with a cat that has to team up with his owners new robot servant to help to take over the world and yet both of those plots work really well and it's like that for all of this seasons episodes as they are all some really creative plots with the only episode that does let this season down from a plot point of view being "Can't Stop" as it's literally just the Red Hot Chili Peppers performing a song and nothing more then that which is fine but when the rest of this seasons plots are so strong it does make that one stand out all the more but for all of the wrong reasons as it's an episode that doesn't have a plot with that episode being the first episode of this new season it doesn't make sense for hat episode to be the first episode as you always want to lead with your strongest foot forward with the plots in this show also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this season is Anthony Kiedis , Flea , John Frusciante , Chad Smith , Emily O'Brien and Feodor Chin. Also starring in this season is Piotr Michael , Sumalee Montano , John Boyega , Ed Skrein , Sienna King , Dwane Walcott , Rahul Kohli , Pamela Nomvete , Amar Chadha-Patel , Chris Parnell , John Oliver , Fred Tatasciore , Rachel Kimsey , Rhys Darby , Moe Daniels , Graham McTavish , Phil Morris , Michelle Lukes , Matthew Waterson , MrBeast , Bai Ling , Keston John , Braden Lynch , Roger Craig Smith , Gary Furlong , Bruce Thomas , Andrew Morgado , Scott Whyte ,  Melissa Villaseñor , Ronny Chieng , Amy Sedaris , Kevin Hart , Josh Brener , Nat Faxon , Niecy Nash-Betts , Brett Goldstein , Dan Stevens , JB Blanc , Nika Futterman , Jane Leeves , Dave B. Mitchell and Jim Broadbent.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very season well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very season was in all honesty not that bad. As all of this seasons episodes do have some really good acting in them which to be fair is something that's ot be expected from this show as this show has always had some really good acting in it which is largely due to the fact that all of this season actors are a bunch of really good actors in there own right with alot of them treating there respective episode like it's a big deal and not just an episode of a TV show which is something that they very easily could have dine and yet because they don't do any of that all of this season performances feel alot more real and more authentic then what they had previously done in previous seasons of the show and while yes this could also be because of the fact this seasons actors are some really good actors in there own right the fact that they chose to bring to their game to this show when they really didn't have to do does go to show you even in adult animation you can get some really good acting in it as that's something that's seen not only all throughout this season but all throughout this show as a whole as well with the acting that's in this season also being helped by the fact that this seasons scripts are just so good that all this seasons actors have to do is just say the lines as they are written and a good performance will come out pf them naturally which is something that really does help to raise the overall quality of the acting that's in this very season.

Doing the animation for this show is Blur Studio , Buck , Passion Animation Studios , AGBO , Luma Pictures , Titmouse , The Aaron Sims Company and Polygon Pictures. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very show well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very show was in all honesty really good with each episode having a vastly different set of animation styles to it with some of them blending in live action footage really well on top of that and while most of them do go the typical CGI route with there episodes the CGI is still so good that you forgive it for being something that you've seen before it with it really being hard to say which episode had the best animation to it as all of this episodes animation was to some degree really good which is something that does go to show that you want to see good quality animation the you have to look at shows like this as here you get animation from all over the world but if push does come to shove then the episode with the best animation would have to be "Spider Rose" as that episodes animation was truly breathtaking to look at from time to time with there being lots of little detail just in the titular characters space ship alone that does make the episode worth watching but that is something that could also be said for "The Other Large Thing" as well where the cat looks so good that he could have been done in live action and nobody would be able to tell the difference as that's just how good he looked with even "Golgotha" mixing animation and live action footage to create something that is truly special and something that really does need to be seen to be believed as it's just that good.

If there's one major issue with this seasons episodes it's that what should have been the first episode "Close Encounters of the Mini Kind" should have bee the first episode of this new season where as "Can't Stop" should been somewhere around the middle of this seasons episodes. As Close Encounters Of The Mini Kind was the much more stronger episode to start out on where as the same thing cannot be said for "Can't Stop" as that episode is quite literally just the Red Hot Chili Peppers performing the titular song and that's really it which is something would have been fine if that episode was placed say fifth in this seasons running order as the you could have a good mixture of stronger episode before getting to the one episode is the weakest episode that this show has ever done where as while Close Encounters Of The Mini Kind isn't as good as say "Sonnie's Edge" from the first series or even "Night Of The Mini Dead" from the previous series it still would have been a strong enough episode to start on as well as easing in long time fans of the show and easing them slowly back in with this new season where as with "Can't Stop" that episode felt like that it was placed there just to appease fans of the band and nothing more then that as it doesn't have any of the shows oddness that this show has become known for where as with alot of this seasons episodes they do have that oddness that makes this show standout by a mile as "Can't Stop" is just set in a random concert with the only selling point to that episode being that your seeing this world famous rock band in puppet form and that's really it where as with Close Encounters Of The Mini Kind your seeing the same team that did Night Of The Mini Dead tell an alien invasion storyline but it's done in the exact same way that Night Of The Mini Dead was done in as well.

What was shocking was the fact that this season had an episode where a character only spoke Chinese all throughout the episode. With that episode being of course "The Screaming Of The Tyrannosaur" which was weird as while that episode did have an English speaking person in it in MrBeast he is the only one that speaks English in it as the episode only has two actors with the other one of course being Bai Ling while this was a choice that does make this episode stand out from the rest of the show it's also one that does make it hard to connect to her character as the only way that you'd be able to connect to her character was if you spoke Chinese as then you'd be able to understand what her character but on the flip of that is the fact that it means that the episode has to rely on it's visuals and the characters body language to get across what there thinking and feeling at any given moment in the episode thus forcing us the audience to actually pay attention to what's going on in the episode and while that episode does have a really predictable ending to it what makes it a good episode is working what exactly it is that Bai Ling's character is actually saying as for all we know she could be spoiling the rest of the episode or she could be giving us some her characters backstory either way it does make the episode very interesting to watch as now we will always have that mystery of what it was that she was actually saying in this episode and while the episode as a whole might not be that good what it does have going for it is the fact that one of it's characters only ever speaks one language all throughout it which is something that really does make this episode stand out from all of the other episodes from this season.

As with all of the previous seasons of this show this season does have episodes that deal with alot of very heavy themes. With this seasons final episode "For He Can Creep" dealing with the devil and what it means to be a good person and "Spider Rose" dealing with grief and how you can find ways to deal with it which was something that I personally wasn't expecting from this show and yet at the same time it's something that did work really well as alot of adulty shows just say that there adult by having the characters swearing a couple of times and that's really it where as with this current season there's perhaps not one single episode where a character swears altho there is one that does contain some very brief female nudity but it doesn't last for long with the rest of this season being adult in all of the right reason by tackling these very heavy themes head on and while yes we do get the typical gore alot of the time it's however only used in one episode and even then there's a heavy theme in that episode as it's about one of the characters finding religion after going a particularly harrowing experience with the show dealing more with adult themes then going for cheap thrills that make this show seem adult but not really being adult which is what an adult cartoon should do and while some of them are handled better then others with Spider Rose handling it's main theme and message alot more better then For He Can Creep does for example that doesn't negate the message of that show as learning how to deal with the devil in ways that aren't over the top is just as important as learning how to move on after you've lost someone close to you with it being alot of those episodes that do stand out alot more as while yes the more goofier episodes are still really fun and in some cases funny to watch it's the episodes that do deal with more complex and adult themes that make those episodes and this show alot more memorable then what it really had any to be.

Now then the episodes this season really had a mixture of running times with them all lasting anywhere from six to seventeen minuets. Which to be fair is pretty par the course for a show like this one to have with it really being helped by the fact that alot of this season episodes really did have the right amount of plot there for there respective running time and while some episodes to take as full advantage as they possibly could do given there running time alot of them just don't with very few of them taking the time needed in order to flesh put there plots and characters as while the episode "Can't Stop" doesn't have a plot to it it also doesn't need to to flesh out it's characters as it's characters are real life people but an episode like "400 Boys" really did need to flesh out both of those things as the plot of the short isn't as well developed as it could have been with it seemingly like that all of these gangs just started for no reason and none of that episodes characters are that well developed either with none of them being memorable at all with the same thing also being true for "Spider Rose" as none of that episodes characters come across as being all that memorable this is despite the fact that the plot of that episode is really well done so much so that that episode could be seen as being a pilot episode for a new TV series but even so the episodes characters need a alot of work done to them as we don't find out what this alien was like prior to the death of her husband and nor do we find out why there was a bounty put on both of their heads both of which are things that we should have been told as the latter is a key plot point and the former could have bee used to make the character a little bit more likable then what she already is but I really will admit that this season really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is an anthology show that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual anthology aspect of the show well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual anthology aspect of the show was in all honesty really good. As we get a good mixture of alot of genre's from comedy to straight up horror and a little bit of drama and action thrown in there as well with the best horror themed episode being "Spider Rose" as they really do do some creative and borderline creepy stuff not only with the main female character but also with her animal sidekick and the best comedy episode is actually a three way tie between "Close Encounters Of The Mini Kind" , The Other Large Thing" and "Smart Appliances, Stupid Owners" as all three of those episodes have something that just gut bustingly funny about them be it seeing an alien invasion on a mini scale to seeing a cat have this evil monologue to his owners only for it to be revealed that from there point of view he's just meowing or from hearing what normal everyday appliances have to think of there owners there's something in all three of those episodes that will make you laugh at the very least once much like how there's something in all of this seasons episodes for every one as if you like drama then there's "400 Boys" but if you like action then there's "The Screaming Of The Tyrannosaur" and "How Zeke Got Religion" bottom line is there is something for everyone in this season with this season as alot of people will like different episodes of this season as all of them including "Can't Stop" are just good episodes in there own right in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this seasons episodes were a really good bunch of episodes with it being very easy to see some of these episodes becoming firm fan favorites much like "Sonnie's Edge" was for the first season but at the same time this season as a whole isn't as strong as even the last season of the show was with this season having lot more bad to weak episodes then what season three of this show had in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now the  i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in his very season in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very season really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 7.5 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from IMP Awards . Com and Google Images. With my personally preferred website to use to get the images from this very season that I used in this very review being the really great Google Images really simply just due to the fact that really alot of if not really all of the images that are all really from this very season with really alot of them being really better quality then what you'd really think of and really all of the images are really of course up and really on Google Images are also really all fairly high in quality and as well as them all being really fairly freaking high in definition.

Love Death And Robots Vol 3 Review

Netflix is a company that is very hit and miss when it comes to their animation output and well one of their hit shows is now back with it's third season. Since i'm huge fan of this show you all just know that I was going to check out this new season the very first chance that I got and so then join me as I review the new season of the show that is just simply amazing with the show in question being called simply just "Love Death And Robots" enjoy.

As you will all no doubt no by now this show has no plot since it's an anthology show however I can say which episode has the best plotline. Which for me at least is episode four Night Of The Mini Dead just simply due to how absurd this episode takes the basic premise of a zombie invasion and just has so much fun with it which makes that episodes plotline genuinely quite entertaining in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

As much as i'd really want I actually cannot list who is playing who in this season of the show simply because that little bit of information doesn't exist. I can however list of some of the people who are starring in this season since we have the likes of Joel McHale , Seth Green , Gabriel Luna , Steve Blum , Andrew Kishino , Troy Baker , Elodie Yung , Rosario Dawson , Joe Manganiello , Jai Courtney and Fred Tatasciore all lending their voice acting talents to this season of the show.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very season well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very season was in all honesty really good. Which given who is starring in this season that really does surprise me since alot of this season cast aren't voice actors their live action actors and so nobody would have blamed them if they couldn't turn in a good performance in this season in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Doing the animation for this season is Blow Studio , Blur Studio , Polygon Pictures , BUCK , Titmouse, Inc , Axis Studios , Sony Pictures Imageworks and Pinkman.tv. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very season well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very season was in all honesty really good with all of this seasons episodes having some very truly wonderful animation in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

This season of the show had a really funny zombie themed episode which i'm just going to come out and say it is my favourite episode of this season. Altho I will admit that the name of that episode did make me think that they'll just be doing a retelling of Night Of The Living Dead which to me just would have been funny if they did it how they did the rest of this zombie themed episode in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

I will say that this season is a huge improvement over season 2 just because the episodes in this season are alot stronger then the ones in season 2. However with all of that being said season 1 is still the best season of the show for the exact same reason that season is alot better then season 1 which is a shame because this season had alot of episodes that could rival the best of the season 1 episodes in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Every season of this show manged to find the perfect balance between comedy episodes and the more serious episodes where as this season I think didn't find that balance. Since there seemed to be quite alot of comedy episodes in this season and while the comedy episodes are indeed good episodes alot of the time there not as good as the more serious episodes in this season in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Now then this season has nine episodes in total with the longest episode being episode 2 which ran for twenty two minuets and forty two seconds. Which for any episode of this show is a bit a long running time and that becomes even more apparent when the episode in question is not only quite boring but is also very badly paced which is a shame because animation wise episode 2 has the best animation in this whole season in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

So now then since this show has quite alot of comedy episodes that means that I have to talk abut the actual comedy that's actually featured / prese ted to us in this very season and well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very season was in all honesty really good. With alot of this films more comedic episodes getting some really big laughs out of me which will always be a very good thing indeed in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this season was a really good season of the show with alot of really strong episodes and heck i'd even go as far as to ay that this season is a return to form for this show in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very season in this very review and as such that means that this very season erns itself a grand old score of exactly an 8.5 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from the official Love Death And Robots fandom wiki page , IMP Awards . Com and Google Images. With my personally preferred website that I personally preferred to use to get the images that I personally used in this very review being the wonderful the official Love Death And Robots fandom wiki page since all of the images that are currently up and and featured / presented to us on freaking the official Love Death And Robots fandom wiki page are all fairly freaking high in freaking quality and as well as being very fairly freaking high in definition.

Love , Death And Robots Series Two Review

Ladies and gentlemen the awesomeness that is Love , Death And Robots has just released it's entire second series on Netflix and well you just know that I had to check it out and well it really didn't disappoint. I won't lie and say that this series is better then the first first series simply because I don't think that that's even close to even being true but I do think that this is a good series and so join me as I review the second series of the TV series that is called simply "Love , Death And Robots" enjoy.

Just like with the first series of the show this series takes on an anthology format with each and every episode telling a different story and well I think that this format works well for this show. As it allows the makers of this show to tell these really weird and odd stories that you just wouldn't be able to do in either a feature length film or in a TV series that doesn't use an anthology format and I will say that all of the stories in this series are in my opinion at least really freaking good.

Now then I really cannot find out who is playing who in this series and believe you and me i've looked but I do know who some of the actors who are appearing in this series are tho and so starring in this series is Nolan North. Also starring in this series is Elodie Young , Joe Dempsie , Steven Pacey , Sami Amber , Fred Tatasciore , Brynley North , Michelle C. Bonilla , Briant T. Delaney and Michael B. Jordan.

In terms of what I thought about the acting that's featured / presented to us in this series in all honesty the acting that's featured / presented to us in this series is really freaking good in my opinion. Since you can quite clearly tell that all of the actors that are appearing in this particular series are giving there best shot and it really does show in the performances and it helps that all of the scripts in this particular series are in my opinion at least really good and so all the actors have to do is just say the lines as they are written and boom a good performance will come out very naturally.

Doing the animation for this particular series is Atoll Studio , Passion Animation Studios , Blur Studio , Unit Image , Axis Animation and Blink Industries. In terms of what I personally thought about the animation in this particular series in all honesty the animation that's featured in this particular series is so freaking good i'm not kidding when I say this but the animation that's featured / presented to us in these episodes is movie quality because it's that good heck the animation that's featured / presented to us in these episodes at times honestly looks like live action that's how good the animation in this particular series well and truly is in my opinion.

Now I did go into this review thinking that this series was alot tamer then the first series however the end of episode four which is called simply just "Snow In The Desert" very quickly changed my perception of this series. Since yeah this series is just as dark and just as brutal as the first series was which was honestly good to see since alot of the episodes up until that point had been playing it pretty safe by not showing us anything really adult and then episode four comes along and gives us all of the adult goodness that we love in this series.

What I found to be pretty odd is that this series has a Christmas episode which honestly makes me wonder if this series was due to be released in December of last year or was due to be released in December of this year. Since having a Christmas episode air in the middle of Spring is just weird and strange and it doesn't help that the Christmas is perhaps the worst episode of this particular series in my opinion.

As with the first series there is what appears to be a live action episode in this series altho given how good the animation in this series is it's honestly really hard to tell if the last episode of this series was live action or if the last episode of this series was fully 3D CGI animated or not. However if the last episode of this series was live action then whole heck does the CGI in that episode look fantastic because not only did they create a fully 3D CGI giant but they had they giant interact with the sand on a beach and they had possible live action actors interacting with the giant all of which would have been a huge pain to create and yet the team over at Blur Studio not only created it but they also in my opinion at least made it look really freaking good.

Now then boys girls this particular series of Love , Death And Robots is made up of eight episodes with all of the episodes lasting no longer then eighteen minuets and so you could very easily binge watch all of these episodes in well under two and a half hours. This is something that I myself have just finished doing and trust me it will be worth it since you'll get to see some truly fantastic stories being told over the course of those eight episodes.

Now then boys and girls as with any show not all of the episodes in this series are that good infact there are at least three maybe even four episodes that are pretty bad / weak. However even those episodes are still really good episodes they just come of looking bad when you compare them to the over episodes in this series and as for what episode I personally liked in this series I personally either episode four "Snow In The Desert" or episode three which is called simply just "Pop Squad" since both of those episodes tell really good stories and both of those episodes also have what I think are some truly shocking endings.

Overall this particular series was in my opinion at least a really good follow up to a really great first series and yes there are a few things wrong this series those things mostly being the bad episodes but in my opinion are least there are far more good things in this series then there are bad things with this series. Now then boys and girls since i've talked about all of the good and both of the bad things that are in this series in this very review that means that this particular series of Love , Death And Robots gets a solid 8.5 out of 10 from me.

As for where I got all of the images that I personally used in this review well then boys and girls I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from the official Love , Death And Robots fandom wiki page and nowhere else and since I only went to the official Love , Death And Robots fandom wiki page. I have no choice but to recommend that you guys use the official Love , Death And Robots fandom wiki page if you want to use any image from Love , Death And Robots and yes there is a third season of Love , Death And Robots coming at somepoint next year but weather or not i'll review that particular series remains to be seen tho.

Love, Death & Robots "Sonnie's Edge" Review

Animation fans I know that i've already talked about this show (at least I have depending on where your seeing this review)  but it was after watching it and writing the review of it that something hit me I came to the realisation that I could should I choose review any episode of the show. So that's what i've done well at least for the first episode I don't know if this will be a weekly thing or not but it gives me a chance to talk about Love, Death & Robots some more so here is my review of episode one Sonnie's Edge.

The plot of this short is a girl and her beast enter this contest where the aim is to stay alive but what happens when the contests owner offers the girl alot of money to loose. I'll admit that plot wise it's not that good since all you get is the basic set up but for something that's only seventeen minuets long that's kind of what you'd expect but given how rich the world building is here I would have loved the story to have been a bit stronger.

Now when I wrote my review of the whole series there was no cast list to be found however that has since changed so starring in this episode is Helen Sadler as Sonnie , Hayley McLaughlin , Jennifer , Time Winters as Dicko , Omid Abtahi as Wes and Christine Adams as Ivrina. Before I talk about what I thought about the acting i'm going to tell you know that just because IMDB has finally added the cast doesn't mean i'm going to re-write my review of the series it just means that whenever I review an episode i'll list the cast.

As for what I thought about the acting given that the actors don't really have that much dialog in the whole short it's honestly pretty good. I say pretty good because I did my research and alot of the actors in this short really haven't been in anything noteworthy outside of a few random TV episodes and some short films so this short in my opinion was there chance to fully show of what they can do and I hope that it leads to them getting more work down the line.

This is one of four shorts that was animated by Blur Studio with the others being episode 2 "Three Robots" episode 4 "suits" and episode 10 "Shape-Shifters". Since the show uses different styles of animation for each episode I have to say that this episodes uses CGI and it looks freaking fantastic like I saw this show on Saturday and I was blown away by how good the CGI looked and even now when I went to load the episode up I was still blown away.

Given that this is the same studio that did the fantastic opening for the 2011 remake of my favourite film The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo it really doesn't surprise me that the CGI was good. It surprises me tho in the way that they pulled it off on basically a web series budget and that's now got me hopeful that they'll one day work on an animated feature film since if this the kind of animation they can do with a small budget then picture what they could do with a few hundred million dollars.

If I ever do more reviews on this series this is something that you'll hear me say alot but I really hope that they give this short it's own series. I say that because the world building was good in this episode that it made me want to find out more not only about the world and it's rules but the characters that live within it. I know that the chances of this short getting it's own series is most likely not that good since it would cost a lot just to do the animation but we can dream.

It was also while watching this short that I came to the realisation that Sonnie is this show's version of Lisbeth Salander from The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo there both bada*s strong women who have been both physically and mentally tortured by men and our now doing something about it. I hope that i'm not the only one who's made those connections but at the same time I could just be looking way deep into something that isn't there.

Now i've thrown up the old warning sign because there's alot of nudity and alot of gore in this episode and there was no way I could do a review on it and not feature images of it mostly because there the only images Google has of the episode. Yeah this episode is gory as hell and when I say gory I really mean it like you see people's heads getting stomped on and monsters getting their arms ripped of it's awesome.

I will admit that both the nudity and the gore is just there for the sake of it like you could remove both of those aspects from the short and you'd loose nothing plot wise or character wise. One of the things that really interested me and I think many others judging from the comments i've seen of this episode online was just how good the twist ending is i'm not going to give it away but I will say that it's something you don't see coming and that's what I good twist should be.

This short has a monster fight and that means we have to talk about the fight itself and for me personally the fight in this short is freaking insane. Heck i'd have been happy if the whole episode was just this fight but at the same time im glad it's not because I honestly love sonnie but tho what I think makes this fight standout from other monster fight scenes is that it appears that this one is advancing the story being told and with that twist helps with the great world building and that's something that i've not seen before now.

Overall this isn't my favourite short of the series if you want to know what this you'll either have to wait or read my review of the show but let's just say it's not one your expecting. This short tho is a great start to the series and so it gets an 8.5 out of 10 from me.

Love , Death & Robots Review

Wow it's been along time since I did a full series review but my god what a series to return with this is a series that i've been so looking forward to seeing and it doesn't disappoint. This is a series that I can very easily see alot of animation fans talking about heck i'm shocked that alot of them haven't already started talking about this show it's that good and it's one of the few Netflix shows that I want to get a second season so here is my review of Love , Death & Robots.

Now I would normally tell you what the plot of the show is and give you my thoughts on it but like Batman: Gotham Knight this is an anthology show. Each of the shorts has a different story with nothing that connects them so you can really watch any episode and get an idea of themes of each short. I will admit that the pacing for each episode can feel off since sometimes it goes by way to fast but sometimes it goes by far to slowly.

Now this is a first for any of my reviews because I can't list any of the actors that appear in this show and the reason why is because there's not a set cast list available anywhere. Also not helping as to why I can't list any of the actors is because they change the cast list literally every single episode so it would be impossible for me to say who's in the show and who isn't so I apologise for not mentioning who's in the show.

Just because I can't name who's in the show doesn't mean that I can't talk about the acting that's in it. That for me is a very mixed bag since in one episode you'll get pretty acting but then in the very next episode the acting might suck so it's really hard for me to fully judge the acting since it's such a mixed bag and in all honesty that's fine with me because that's the same for alot of TV shows be they on Netflix or not.

The animation for this show was handled around by fifteen different companies with perhaps the most note worthy name being that of Sony Pictures Imageworks. As well as alot of different companies working on each short the animation also came in from all over the world so while you will see companies that are based in America working on this show you'll also see companies from for example the UK and Spain.

I have to say that the overall quality of the animation is shockingly good i'm not even kidding and these guys aren't working with a feature film budget either there working with a small budget and most likely a small crew. So if there able to pull of this level of animation with little to no budget and a small crew then imagine what they could do with the budget of a feature film and the fact that there using animation companies from all over the world is great because it gives them a chance to shine and that can only be a good thing for the animation industry.

Now i'm not going to lie and say all of them are animated because there not but they all include animation of some kind and that helps the show stand out even more in my opinion. Netflix to me is one of those companies which is creator driven and by that I mean they allow the people who are making stuff for them to really do what ever the hell they want and that makes them the perfect place for this kind of show because it's something that so of the wall that it's actually on another wall.

I cannot give this show enough praise yes there is the odd one or two bad episode but that's something that your going to get with any show anyway. I honestly feel that the only note that producers David Fincher and Tim Miller gave the people creating the shorts is that there short has to have something to do with either love , death or robots or possibly all three because that's the thing that really connects all of the shorts it's those themes.

I have to say that if you have little kids and you think that this might be a show that they'll enjoy don't show it to them. This is very mature show and when I say very mature I freaking mean it there's blood , gore , sex and nudity and that's just in the first episode and trust me it gets alot more strange and alot more adult from there so this will have to be one animated show that they'll have to go without seeing.

Now i've seen sites like IMDB throw around that some of the shorts could be considered horror in my opinion the whole thing should be considered horror. Not because of the fact that there's alot of blood and gore in alot of the episodes but because of it's ideas and themes which to me make the series far more scary then blood and gore ever could even tho one of the common ideas thrown around is that mankind is doomed to kill itself it's still a scary idea.

I have to say not all of the episodes in this show fall under horror in fact all of the eighteen shorts made fall under a wide range of sub-genres ranging from horror to fantasy to comedy so there's really something for everyone here. The best episodes tho for me personally are the ones that have a great twist ending that you don't see coming for example episodes one and three have a freaking great pairs twists which have to be seen to be believed.

I can't believe i've gotten this far into the review and not really gave you that much information about the episodes themselves. There are eighteen episodes in total and each episode will last no longer then twenty minuets but they really range in length with some episodes lasting seventeen minuets and others lasting around seven minuets. So you you could honestly watch the whole series and in a few hours and still have time to write a blog post about the show.

Overall go and watch this show right now like stop whatever it is your doing and go and watch it because trust me you will not regret it. It's not a perfect show as i've explained but in my opinion it's damn freaking close so it gets a 9.5 out of 10 from me.
