Doctor Who: The Woman Who Fell To Earth Review

Doctor Who fans we are but a few short days away from Jodie Whittaker's final ever episode of Doctor Who. As such I thought that it would be only fitting to take a look back at her very episode of Doctor Who since it's an episode that I myself haven't seen since it first came out and it was the only fitting tie in review that I could think of and so then join me as I review the episode that introduced the world to a brand new doctor with the episode in question being called simply just "The Woman Who Fell To Earth" enjoy.

The plot of this episode is something has landed in Sheffield and it's up to  Yaz , Ryan , Graham , Grace and freshly regenerated Doctor to work out what it is , what it wants and stop it for good. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad with this episode doing a very good job of introducing a new Doctor all the while still telling a fairly entertaining and engaging story in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this episode is Jodie Whittaker as The Doctor , Bradley Walsh as Graham O'Brien and Mandip Gill as Yasmin Khan. Also starring in this episode is Tosin Cole as Ryan Sinclair , Sharon D. Clarke as Grace , Samuel Oatley as Tim Shaw , Johnny Dixon as Karl , Amit Shah as Rahul , Asha Kingsley as Sonia , Janine Mellor as Janey , Asif Khan as Ramesh Sunder , James Thackeray as Andy , Philip Abiodun as Dean , Stephen MacKenna as Dennis and Everal A Walsh as Gabriel.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad. With all of this episodes cast doing their best to make this episodes script work well enough for them and turn in a good solid performance at the exact same time.

Doing the CGI for not only this episode but I think also for the rest of this series is the legends and the greats that are currently over at DNegTV and Double Negative. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty really good with this episodes CGI being alot better then the CGI that we got in Rose in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

What I really thought was an enjoyable aspect of this episode was that we got to see how this Doctor acts post regeneration. Which to me made this version of The Doctor feel more like a strange mixture of Colin Baker's Doctor and Jon Pertwee's Doctor since she has the alieness that was present in Colin Baker's Doctor and yet she would also get involved in alot of the action scenes in this episode which is something that Jon Pertwee's Doctor would do and it's something that would have worked really well for this version of The Doctor in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

One of the things that I really didn't like about this episode and this is an issue that runs through all of the thirteenth doctors run as well but I really didn't like the fact that not alot of the companions got alot development. Heck Yaz herself gets no personality other then what the plot of the episode requires her to be like but we don't get to find out anything about her and the same thing goes for Graham as well and this is why having a lot of companions simply just doesn't work in Doctor Who in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Another thing that I really didn't like about this episode is the fact that this episodes villain really isn't given much motivation. Yes we do find out why he's here on earth but outside of that one scene we don't really get any information about why he's here which for a new villain is kind of big deal since it would allow us the audience the chance to connect with this character in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Now then this episode has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour and two minuets and fifty six seconds. Which for a standard episode of Doctor Who is a bit of a long time which is made even longer when you take into account that your not only introducing a new doctor but also new companions and none or very little of that running time is spent establishing who these characters are and what there personalities are in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

So now then since there is some action in this episode that means that I have to actually talk about the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad. Since alot of this episodes action did remind of the kind of action that we'd see from Jon Pertwee's doctor only more modern which was a very nice surprise indeed in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this episode wasn't a bad debut episode for Jodie Whittaker's thirteenth doctor since it does a good job of setting up this doctor but at the same time it doesn't  set up her companions at all in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very episode in this very review and as such that means that this very episode erns itself a grand freaking old score of exactly a 7 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from IMP Awards . Com , the official Doctor Who fandom wiki page and Google Images. With my personally preferred website that I personally preferred to use to get the images that I personally used in this very review being Google Images since all of the images that are currently up and and featured / presented to us on freaking Google Images are all fairly freaking high in freaking quality and as well as being very fairly freaking high in definition.

Doctor Who "The Woman Who Fell To Earth" Review

Doctor Who fans series 11 has just started airing and that means these weekly reviews are back but unlike The Doctor i'm now not a woman so after all the hype and all the build up was it worth it well find it in my review of episode one of series eleven "The Woman Who Fell To Earth".

The plot to this weeks episode is there is something terrifying the people of Sheffield and it's up to a newly regenerated Doctor and some friends to find out what's going on and put a stop to it. Story wise the plot is most likely the weakest aspect of the episode for me personally it's not a bad story at all but at the same time I feel like this is a story that would have been better suited in the Steven Moffat era.

Of course this is the debut episode for all of the main cast and so I won't pass judgement on any of them until at least episode 4 but if this episode is anything to go by then we have some truly great performances to look forward to. The guest cast for this episode is made up of Sharon D. Clarke as Grace , Samuel Oatley as Tim Shaw and Johnny Dixon as Karl and I have to say that I really did enjoy Sharon I thought she was really funny and she had me laughing out loud a few times the rest of the guest cast were solid as well.

Not only is this the debut episode for new show runner Chris Chibnall as well as stars Bradley Walsh , Tosin Cole , Mandip Gill and of course the full series debut for Jodie Whittaker but it's also the first time in the shows revived era that the show will now air on Sundays and since there is a time change that will also effect when these reviews can go out so don't expect to see them the day of the actual episode but I will do my best to get them out by no later then Monday or Tuesday.

Much has been made about the doctor now being a female and with that there has also been alot of hate aimed not only at the show but also the people supporting the decision to cast a female doctor well I hope that all of those haters are now eating some sweet sweet humble pie because a female doctor is just the breath of fresh air that the show needed heck they even make a joke about it very early on in the episode.

Speaking of The Doctor being a woman i'm glad that the show didn't take to much time talking about it like I said they only brought it up once or twice in the whole episode which even then it's used as a joke and that's about the only way the show really could have talked about that subject since if they went to far either way then they would have risked loosing there audience.

When they first released the images of Jodie in the costume I wasn't the biggest fan but after seeing it in the show itself I have to admit that the costume does suit her and I really like the long overcoat she has on but tho with that said I wish that they had given her something that screamed Doctor Who to wear since to me this costume screams Woodstock to me.

I was going to post a picture of what the monster looked like but I thought that might be two much of a spoiler but I will say that this monster looks like nothing we have seen before in the shows recent history and that to me adds to the creep factor not to mention what he does to his victims which for some reason reminded me alot of Leatherface from the Texas Chainsaw Massacre so if your a horror fan then you'll be be golden.

I have no idea who's doing the CGI so I have no clue if The Mill was brought back or if they looked else where but either way the CGI used in this episode I thought was really good and there are times where you can't tell if they did it for real or if it was done in a computer and that's how the best effects should always be.

For the first time since 2005 we don't have a score by Murray Gold this time doing the music is Segun Akinola and while we don't get to hear his take on the classic theme his music I thought was pretty decent but it's no where near the quality that we were used to listening to but hopefully as the series does progress we'll hear better music.

Overall this was a really solid start not only to the new series but to the new era and for the new doctor it made the series fun again and that's what Doctor Who should always have a degree of and if you like the Thirteenth Doctor then starting in November there's a Thirteenth Doctor comic book coming out and if you guys want me to review the first story arc of that book then let me know and this episode scores an 8.5 out of 10 from me.
