The Muppet Show 2026 Special SPOILER FILLED Review

When people of a certain age think of The Muppets they nine times out of ten think about The Muppet Show. Which does make sense as that show is there most popular show and was what helped to make them a big name in the first place well now Disney have done the unthinkable and released a revival special for the show and well you all just knew that I had to check out the special the very first chance that I got and so then join me as I give you my SPOILER FILLED review of the special that dares to light the lights one more time with the special in question being called simply just "The Muppet Show" enjoy.

The plot of this special is Miss Piggy finds out that she's being cut from the show due to Kermit accidentally booking to many performers and so will do anything to get on the show. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very special well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very special was in all honesty really good with the specials plot doing a very good job of capturing the pure insanity that is The Muppets whilst also making it feel like the next episode of the show with the only real issue when it comes to the plot being the fact that the episode doesn't really have alot of scenes in it that focus on the plot which is something that does make sense as the original show was also kind of like that as well but here in this special they do actively have Miss Piggy invading one of the episodes performances which is something that does make you wonder why the episode didn't devote more time to this plot as this is something that could have led to some really funny scenes in and yet the makers of this special just felt lime that they were playing it kind of safe with the episodes plot this isn't to say that the plot was bad as it's really not as the plot does allow for all of the typical Muppet mayhem to come into play but it is something that would have been all the more funnier if they devoted more backstage scenes to it as well with the plot of this special being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this special is Bill Barretta as Rowlf The Dog , Dr. Teeth , Swedish Chef and Pepe The King Prawn , Dave Goelz as Gonzo , Zoot , Waldorf , Dr. Bunsen Honeydew and Beauregard and one of this special executive producers Eric Jacobson as Miss Piggy , Fozzie Bear , Animal , Sam Eagle and The Newsman. Also starring in this special is Peter Linz as Lips , Statler , Link Hogthrob , Robin The Frog and A Brown Creature, David Rudman as Scooter , Janice , Beaker and  Miss Poogy , one of this special executive producers Matt Vogel as Kermit The Frog and Sgt. Floyd Pepper , Stephanie D'Abruzzo as Hilda , Bradley Freeman Jr. as Rizzo The Rat , one of this specials executive producers Seth Rogan as Himself , Maya Rudolph as Herself and one of this specials executive producers Sabrina Carpenter as Herself.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very special well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very special was in all honesty really good. With all of the specials actors turning in some really good performances in this special even Matt Vogel who was getting an awful lot of hate online when the trailer dropped for this special does make for a really good Kermit and while yes his Kermit voice isn't perfect he is the new official actor for Kermit and has been doing the role for some years now with him getting better and better each performance with this special being of no exception to that rule with all of the actors that are playing The Muppets doing a really job of playing there truly iconic characters some of whom were even on the original show like for example Dave Goelz who has played Gonzo from the very beginning and is still knocking it out of the park as the character with the specials best actor being Bill Barretta as even tho he doesn't get a whole lot to do in this special he does still turn in a good performance with it being quite obvious that he and the rest of the Muppet actors are having the time of their lives being able to raise the curtain on The Muppet Show tonight one more time with the acting that's n this very special really being helped by the fat that the script for this special is just so good that all this specials actors have to do is just say the lines as they are written and a good performance will come out of them naturally which is something that really does help to raise the overall quality of the acting that's in this very special.

The Muppet character are just so iconic in there own right that it really is hard to get them wrong and thankfully this special doesn't get them all wrong as all of the Muppet characters feel like there old selfs. With Miss Piggy being a really over the top diva and Kermit being about one piece of bad news away from having a complete and total melt down this is how these characters were in the original show and it's why the characters became so popular to begin with as they were fun but flawed characters and while it's only really Miss Piggy and Kermit that get the most screen time devoted to them as this episode does feel like an actual episode of the original show alot of the other Muppet characters do also appear in the special as well just in limited roles as we don't get hear Fozzie tell any bad jokes and nor do we get to see Swedish Chef fail to make something that's edible and that's OK as this special was meant to be all about reminding us why we liked these characters in the first and part of that does entail being like an episode of the show and while yes it would have been more fun to see Sabrina Carpenter interacting with more of the Muppet cast outside of Scooter , Kermit and Miss Piggy there would have been no way to do that without repeating yourself alot of the time but at the same time the people that are most likely to watch this special are the fans of The Muppets and sadly we don't get enough of the main Muppet cast in this episode with alot of them being reduced to backstage segments with a few of them coming on stage for the big finale number with them not really getting a chance to show us just what it was that made them so likable in the first place.

SPOILERS START HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Believe it or not this is actually the first time that The Muppets have actually down a verity show since 1996's Muppets Tonight. With all of the other shows that they've done since then being either a straight sitcom like 2015's The Muppets a solo show like Muppets Mayhem or an oddly forgotten crossover with various Disney Channel stars in Studio DC: Almost Live and it's kind of odd that that would be the case as the verity show setting is where these characters work best as all of The Muppets characters are meant to be agents of chaos something which we do see in this special as when Rizzo perhaps his musical number we keep on cutting backstage to see Beauregard messing things up or when Sabrina Carpenter is doing her opening number "Manchild" we cut to Crazy Harry going overboard with the wind machine thus causing all of the chickens in the scene to loose all of their feathers which is something that you could see that character doing and yet it is something that does work really well in this special as it's something that does show case just how chaotic that putting on one episode of The Muppet Show could be and that is something that does get lost when you take The Muppets out of the verity show format as while Muppets Mayhem was a really good show that should have gotten a second season it also didn't put the characters into a setting where they were allowed just be chaotic the 2015 Muppets whilst it did give us an update to the verity show format was more focused on all the stuff happening backstage when showing things going wrong on the main show would have been way more finnier to see.

If there's one thing that The Muppets are k own for it's there heart this is something that you see even in The Muppet Movie. With it being something that does come back in this special as right at the end of special when Kermit has to choose just one of his friends to go out and be the big final act he can't do it and so he gets up on stage and starts singing the song "Don't Stop Me Now" by Queen as a way to get all of his friends on stage with them all joining him for one big rocking musical number with Dr. Teeth And The Electric Mayhem of course providing the backing for the song which to be fair is a good number to go out on but it's also something that makes you wonder how they managed to get Disney to agree to putting that song in this special as when you look up what the song is about you start to realise that it might be a bit to adult even for The Muppets and yet it's also a rather fitting way to end this special as it does come across as The Muppets being rebellious and outright telling people that no matter what your going to do to them you'll never be able to stop them as they'll always come back in some way shape or form and given that one of there more famous songs is a cover of the song "Bohemian Rhapsody" also by Queen and has alot of adult themes in that song as well it does make sense that they would end this special with another Queen song while it is of course impossible to say if Jim Henson would have ended on that song for this special it does seem right as The Muppets are characters that will never go away as they'll always be someone somewhere willing to talk about them and the fact that they managed to bring back alot of characters including ones that haven't been seen for decades and one who hasn't spoken a single line of dialog since the first season of the original show does show you that the makers of this special really are Muppet fans.

There was one joke that was bit to adult for me even for The Muppets which is after the end credits for the special have finished playing but before the company logos play they straight up hint at Statler having a heart attack. Which was a bit off putting to see as while The Muppets have never really shied away from doing adult themed jokes in the past they always left it up for interpretation which was something that always made it feel like that the kids would get the joke on one level and then the adults would get the same joke on another level whereas here it felt like they were straying a bit to far into the adult world which was something that Jim Henson would never do and heck it's even something that the Disney Muppets would never do as well which makes that joke about and old man dying feel even more out of place with that one bit of the special being the only time where I questioned what was actually going on in he special this would have been something that wouldn't be an issue if they revealed that his arm was numb and he was having these chest pains because of the fact that he did genuinely like the special and play it off more as being a heart warming moment but they don't do that and given the fact that they straight up killed of and then brought back to life Maya Rudolph in the special as well it is something that makes you wonder if they were planning on killing of Statler in this special as that is something that wouldn't go down well at all with the fanbase and is something that i'm glad that they didn't do if that was the original plan as it would have caused this special to end on a rather sour note as only hinting at him having a heart attack yes is still a weird way to end things it also allows the character to show up in other Muppet projects as they can just say that he better.

Now then this special has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly thirty minuets and ten seconds. Which to be fair is slightly longer then what the average running time of the original show was which is something that does make this special feel more special as it gives us time to really soak in the fact that we are seeing these characters back home where they belong and while the episode really doesn't have alot of plot there to really cover tat amount of running time in the first place this is something that is not a huge issue as the show is all about giving us unique acts and isn't focused on giving us alot plot with the episode really using it's running time really wisely as while the special really doesn't have alot of plot there to begin with it's plot is as simple enough as you'd want it to be with alot of the fun and the joy coming from this special coming from the fact that we are seeing The Muppets back home on stage at The Muppet Theater once again and to be fair that is something that doesn't really require alot of plot or alot of plot development either with the same thing even being true for the specials character development as we already know how Kermit and co are meant to be and therefor the only character that needed character development was Sabrina Carpenter herself and that's it and to be she does come across as well developed character with her being a die hard Miss Piggy fan and that's it and to be fair that's all she needed as none of the shows other guest stars would get character development as they all just play themselves and that's it but I really will admit that this special really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is a comedy that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual comedy thats actually featured / presented to us in this very special well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very special was in all honesty really good. With the special having alot of really good jokes in it all of which feel true to who The Muppets are as characters be it from Kermit booking one to many acts to Miss Piggy getting an even bigger ego when Sabrina says how much she meant to her and even modelled her look after her which Miss Piggy says that both she and her lawyers have noticed and will be in touch with Sabrina saying her lawyers would be honored to talk to her lawyers which is a really good joke as it is something that Miss Piggy would do with the best joke in the whole entire episode funnily enough also being a Miss Piggy joke as when she finds out that she's not doing another number on the show she straight kicks down Sabrina's dressing room door as Kermit is right on the other side of the door with her not even seeing him there in the first place with the two of them then having a chat about how Miss Piggy inspired her in the first place with Sabrina forgetting all about Kermit and only getting him out of the door when Miss Piggy has left which is a really good joke made even more funnier when you take into account that the joke plays to Sabrina's strengths as a comic actor with her and Miss Piggy having some really great comedic chemistry together somethin which we do see come to play in alot of there scenes together as that's were we get to see some really good and funny jokes with the special having alot of painfully jokes in it all of which feel true to who these characters are as characters in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

SPOILERS END HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Overall go right now and watch this special on Disney+ and then tell your friends to go and watch and get them to tell there friends to go and watch it as Disney needs to see that people do still care about The Muppets and with the special being this good it does deserve to be seen by as many people as is humanly possible in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this vey special in this very review and as such that really does mean that this veery special really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly an 8.5 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from Amazon . Co . Uk , IMP  Awards . Com an Google Images. With my personally preferred website to use to get the images from this very special that I used in this very review being the really great Google Images really simply just due to the fact that really alot of if not really all of the images that are all really from this very special with alot of them being really better quality then what you'd really think of and all of the images are really of course up and really on Google Images are also really all fairly high in quality and as well as them all being really fairly freaking high in definition.

The Muppet Show "John Cleese" Review

The Muppet characters are so beloved that it's hard to picture a time where there wasn't some form of Muppet media in our lives. With The Muppet Show being that popular of a show that alot of the time they made fans out of the people the guest stars that worked on the show with the same thing being true for the episode that i'm going to be reviewing for you all today as the guest star for this episode built up a really good working relationship with the muppet crew and cast and so the join me as I review the episode that depending on where you first saw the episode had two slightly different introductions to it with the episode in question being called simply just "John Cleese" enjoy.

The plot of this show is when he is booked to be the guest star on the show John Cleese doesn't want to do the show with Kermit having to try and convince him to do the show. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty really good with it being very refreshing to see a guest star be so openly opposed to appearing on the show that he will do quite literally anything to get out of appearing in the show and while this plot line does kind of get resolved by not even the half way mark it was still a really interesting plot and one that could have carried the whole episode as there are room for lots of jokes about John not wanting to be on the show in the first place with this episode even kind of having a subplot with Gonzo as well as when one his stunts goes right Gonzo ends up with a really long arm and has to try and figure out a way to shrink it back down to size with the episodes main plot being the more interesting of the two plots just due to the fact that it does give us something new as all of the guest stars on The Muppet Show are always happy to be there that it does make it refreshing to see someone that wants to be anywhere else but on The Muppet Show with the only thing that does hold the main plot back is that it does not only get resolved quite early on in the episode but it does also get forgotten about quite quickly when they could have spent the entire episode just on that one plotline alone with the plot of this episode being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this episode is this episode co-writer Jim Henson as Kermit The Frog , Link Hogthrob , Rowlf , Waldorf , The Newsman and Zeke and Frank Oz as Fozzie Bear , Miss Piggy , Whatnot Dancer and Gramps. Also starring in this episode is Jerry Nelson as Slim Wilson , Floyd Pepper , Crazy Harry , Robin , A Waiter , Eric The Parrot , Whatnot Dancer and The Announcer , Richard Hunt as Scooter , Statler , Sweetums , Bubba , A Waiter and Pig , Dave Goelz as Gonzo, Koozebanian Spooble , Marvin and Lubbock Lou , Louise Gold as Lou and Sir John Cleese as Himself.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty really good. With this being something that does make alot of sense as all of the Muppet performers are a bunch of really good actors in there own right a while yes there just playing with puppets basically they still have to turn in a performance and that is something that they always manage to do and do well with this episode being of no exception to that as they all work really bouncing there already manic and chaotic energy off of John Cleese who himself turns in a manic and chaotic performance with it being quite hard to say just who the best actor is in this episode as alot of the Muppet performers do a good job with there characters as you'd expect from them John Cleese is also really good as someone who just wants to get out of this mad house whilst he himself is trying to keep his own sanity but if push did come to shove the best actor in this episode would have be Dave Goelz really just due to the fact that Gonzo gets alot more screen time in this episode then what he usually really gets and therefor Dave gets more of chance to show us just what it is that he can do as an actor with the acting that's in this episode really being helped by the fact that this episodes script is just so good that all this episodes actors have to do is just say the lines as they are written and a good performance will come out of them naturally which is something that really does help to raise the overall quality of the acting that's in this very episode.

As was mentioned this episode does give Gonzo not only his own subplot in the episode but also more screen time so much so that you could consider him a co-leading character in the episode. With this being odd as he doesn't usually take a lead role in alot of Muppet productions with his only other leading role really being the film Muppets From Space and that's really it and yet here him being being in a co-lead role oddly works as we get to see what happens when one his stunts does work with him catching a cannonball with one hand which has the adverse effect of making the arm that he caught the ball with longer then the rest of his body and while the episode doesn't really take the time to explore what this could do to Gonzo as a character as he was always full to the brim with confidence it would have been interesting to see him become more big headed because of it only for the other characters to remind him of his longer arm but for whatever reason the makers of this episode instead go the opposite way and have the character become more despondent not because of the fact that the stunt was a success but it's rather because of the fact that both Fozzie and Floyd keep on making jokes about his long arm which does feel true to there characters but at the same time it would have added to Gonzo's character if we got to see him be this big headed person who now thinks that he can do anything like how funny would it be to see him act like a diva to someone like Miss Piggy or something like that as that would have felt like a natural extension of his character given the fact that he's meant to the groups everyman and alot of people when they do a small amount of success do nine times out of ten get a big ego because of it.

This episode does technically have two introductions to it depending on where you saw the episode as in the USA John Cleese is introduced as being someone from Monty Python which makes sense as Monty Python And The Holy Grail was a big film. However over here in the UK he is introduced as being one of the stars of Fawlty Towers which again makes sense as that was his latest show to air at the time and while nothing is lost in the two intros as all they are is a way to introduce just who John Cleese is it does feel odd that they would film two completely different introductions for the same person when it would have made more sense for them to just us the Monty Python one as Monty Python was the bigger name at the time and yet in saying this tho it does make sense for them to use different intros as alot of people outside of the UK to this very day still don't know about Fawlty Towers this is despite the fact that it's one of the UK's most well known sitcoms and heck it could be argued that John in this episode is playing himself more like he plays Basil in Fawlty Towers as he is constantly stressed out and is always trying to impress people even when it all comes crumbling down around him much like what Basil would do whereas John in real life is actually a pretty smart and well educated person who actually knows that he's talking about but with the show having two different introductions for him there is a good chance that it will make people who haven't heard of Fawlty Towers to go and look up the twelve episodes and even if they have heard of it then it might make them want to go and check out his work with Monty Python either way it will result in a good time and having him work with The Muppets was always going to be good time for us the audience.

In what was a really shocking move it turns out that Sir John Cleese actually had a hand in writing alot of his scenes for the episode more specifically he either wrote or helped to write the Pigs In Space sketch , the scene backstage with Gonzo where he refers to him as the ugly one and the episodes finale. With John bringing his own manic energy and writing style to the show and whilst that could be seen as being a negative due to the fact that The Muppets themselves are pretty much just chaos in felt form here it oddly works as John is portrayed as being someone who has enough of The Muppets and there kind of chaos and will do just about anything to get out of the show and while it's not obvious that he and the rest of the episodes cast and crew struck up a good working relationship so much so that they had him do a cameo in The Great Muppet Caper it is something that does help as it shows that he is in on the joke and doesn't have to be to be convinced to go as over the top as the other guests do as he already knows The Muppets style of humor due to the fact that it's close enough to the style of humor of both himself and the rest of the Monty Python team with Jon being a very good fit for this show because of his expirence with Monty Python and while it would have been more funnier if John was the more manic one and The Muppets were the more calm ones in this scenario that would also go against just who they are as characters as well as the guest host should compliment The Muppets style and not do something that works against it Roger Moore works as he gets to be charming and calm whilst this whirlwind of chaos is happening all around him and John works because his actively encouraging the chaos to happen.

The Muppets have always ben known for innovating and for pushing just what it is that you can with a puppet. With oddly enough the same thing being true for one single shot in this episode as in what shot during a song that's sung by Miss Piggy we see the full Muppet Theater stage with the camera then slowly moving back in on Miss Piggy with that one shot being something that makes you wonder just how it is that they did it as with the movies you could very well argue that they had the budget to try out these new things that might or might not work but with a TV show where every single is a special effects shot and the budget has to be spread out across several episodes that's just not something that you can do ad yet in this episode they do pull off a shot that is hard to work how they did it as it could have been a remote control Piggy which is something that would make sense as there's not a really a way to fit the puppeteer in the shot but on the other hand it very well could have been the traditional Miss Piggy puppet being controlled as she normally would have done which is something that does make sense as this scene was a UK spot and therefor wouldn't really need that much effort put into it but at the same time tho it does look like a really hard shot to pull off with a traditional puppet and therefor there very well might have been a remote control puppet used to make the shot either way it is something that does highlight the fact that the makers of this episode really were some creative people and it's something that the makers of the 2026 The Muppet Show special should try to be if they want to do The Muppets any kind of justice as The Muppets were always creative and where always trying to do new and exciting things.

Now then this episode has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly twenty six minuets and thirty seconds. Which is pretty much the exact running time for alot of this shows other episodes as well with this episode having just about the right of plot there to cover that amount of running time in the first place as while the main plot is more then enough to cover that amount of running time it really makes it when you add in the subplot with Gonzo as well and while this episode doesn't really use it's running time all that wisely as the episode doesn't develop either of it's plots it really doesn't need to as the main focus of this show has always been and will always be the episodes sketches and that's really it with this show being one that doesn't really require a deep and thought provoking plot in order to make it work as all it needs is good sketches and that's really it with this even being true for the episodes characters as well as The Muppet characters have several other episodes to get across just what there character is and get there development in those other episodes and therefor it's not really needed in an episode like this where they don't have that many backstage segments with the ones that do have being there to push along both the main plot and the episodes subplot which does leave very little room for character development and while it would have been nice for there to be some form of character development as characters like Gonzo very rarely is ever get the lead role and therefor he could have done with getting character development it also wasn't need as his character in this episode works just as fine without it but I really will admit that this episode really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is a comedy that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty really good. With this episode having alot of really funny jokes in it all of which play to both the strengths of The Muppets and to John Cleese and all of which work really well because of it and while yes this episode does have a few bad jokes in it those jokes are very few and far between as the episode has that many jokes in it that by the time that it's told a bad joke it's busy telling you one that will make you laugh with the best joke in the whole episode being the backstage segment where Gonzo is trying to get John to make his arm normal length again with the only thing that John does to help him is pull his other arm to make it the same length and when Gonzo then complains that he can't tie his shoes John then pulls his legs to make them the same length but in doing so he then makes Gonzo's arms smaller so he has to pull both of Gonzo's arms at the same time with the thing that makes that joke work being the psychical comedy from John as he really is great at that kind of silly slapstick comedy and while the episode really does have a lot of really funny jokes in it all of which play to the strengths of both The Muppets and there guest star the episode really plays to it's strengths when the jokes are more slapstick based as that's what John Cleese is more known for and that's when we get to see true comedy gold and that's when the episode becomes alot more funnier in this episode in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this is one of the more better episodes of the show due to the fact that we get to see just why both Sir John Cleese and The Muppets are really funny with them both really working off of each perfectly and being a match made in comedy heaven as that's just how good that they both work really together in this episode and in The great Muppet Caper as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad thigs that are in this very episode in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very episode really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 7 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from Amazon . Co . Uk , IMP Awards . Com and Google Images. With my personally preferred website to use to get the images from this very episode that I used in this very review being the really great Google Images really simply just due to the fact that really alot of if not really all of the images that are all really from this very episode with alot of them being really better quality then what you'd really think of and all of the images are really of course up and really on Google Images are also really all fairly high in quality and as well as them all being really fairly freaking high in definition.

The Muppet Show "Roger Moore" Review

It's been well over a year now since anything to do with the classic The Muppet Show has been covered and well I thought that now was the right time to delve back into the world of The Muppets. As i'm also a huge mega James Bond fan it really only made sense that the episode that I review also feature the actor who has been in the most James Bond films with this review even being one that's proven to be very difficult to get off the ground as well and so then join me as I review the episode that sees James Bond team up with Kermit The Frog with the episode in question being called simply just "Roger Moore" enjoy.

The plot of this episode is with this episodes guest star being Sir Roger Moore himself Kermit The Frog wants to make sure that this episode goes off without a hitch which includes hiring hiring real spies for the episodes final sketch. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad as this episodes plot was a simple plot which is something that really does work for this show as thew main attraction of this show is never the plots it's always either The Muppets themselves or the sketches and having a deep thought provoking plot would get in the way of the characters just being there wonderfully chaotic themselves and the sketches as well as now they would have to fit in a deep plot which is something that you really don't need for The Muppet Show as while yes it is great that some of this shows do have plots in them there usually just something related to what's going on backstage and that's really it and that's all they need to be as here the plot of Kermit getting real spies for the episode is wonderfully absurd and as something that could only work in an episode of the show and while it would have been better if this episode did have more of an plot as the whole getting real spies was one of the more entertaining aspects of the episode it's not rally something that was needed as this episode was also pretty entertaining in it's own right with the plot of this episode also being really rather entertaining and a swell as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring I'm this episode is Jim Henson as Kermit The Frog , Rowlf , Villager , Waldorf , Link Hogthrob , The Newsman and The Swedish Chef and Frank Oz as Miss Piggy , Fozzie Bear and Boo Mortmorkinson. Also starring in this episode is Jerry Nelson as Pops , Lew Zealand , Louis Kazagger , Purple Spy , Viking Pigs,  Quongo and Gnu , Richard Hunt as Scooter , Janice , Statler , Bruno , Otter, and Viking Pig , Dave Goelz as Beauregard , Pink Spy , Mackerel , Baskerville , Viking Pig , Handcuff Salesman and Figurehead , Steve Whitmire as Viking Pig , Rizzo The Rat , Green Spy , Deer and Rabbit , Louise Gold as Annie Sue Pig and Villager , Kathy Mullen as Gaffer and Villager , Betsy Baytos as Singing Fish and Cow and Sir Roger Moore as Himself.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty really good. As while of course Sir Roger Moore is really good in this episode with him playing a more debonair version of himself it's the shows regular actors that really god turn in the best performances in this episode as all of them have alot of moments that make you remember why these characters are so well beloved in the first place be it either Miss Piggy trying to flirt with Sir Roger or Scooter and Beauregard confusing Kermit's request for spies with pies there are alot of great acting to be seen in this episode which makes it all the more shocking that people just don't straight up recognize the actors in this episode as actors as they have to go through all the things that regular actors go through only these actors not only have to to invent the character but they also have to all the emotions for the character through either their voices or their own hand movements all of which comes into great effect in this episode with it being painfully hard to tell just who the best actor is in this episode as they could all make that claim but if push does indeed come to shove then it would have be either Jim Henson , Frank Oz or Sir Roger Moore as while playing a character is easy work playing a version of yourself is always going to be harder work to do and in the case of both Jim and Frank they are both just so good in this episode with the acting that's in this episode really being helped by the fact that this episodes script is just so good that all this episodes actors have to do is just say the lines as they are written that all this episodes have to do is just say the lines as they are written and a good performance will come out of the naturally which is something that really does help to raise the overall quality of the acting that's in this very episode.

Speaking of Sir Roger Moore he really was a joy to watch in this episode as while it does come across as him playing up to The Muppets. He is still quite clearly enjoying himself in this episode with even this more fictional version of him just as much char and charisma as Sir Roger himself is known to have with the only thing that let down this take on the man himself being the fact that they don't play up to the fact that he's also kind of a goofball as he was known on various James Bond film sets for pulling harmless practical jokes something which would have fit in right at home with the more chaotic nature of The Muppets and while he does make for a very natural guest star for this show to have as he is quite possibly the biggest if not one of the biggest names to ever appear on this show in the first place he's not really used all that well in the episode as while he does rather rightfully get alot of screen time alot of it is just spent mugging for the camera which is something that does feel out of place with even Sir Roger himself looking very awkward in those moments and while Brain Henson did describe him as being very debonair something which was true for him even in his real life as well he was also someone who wasn't afraid to standup to what he believed in which was why he got involved in charity work in his later career something which the makers of this episode might have been able to use for material depending on when he first started to do his charity work with really the only aspect of the real Sir Roger Moore that was translated over to this more fictional version of him being the fact that he was kind of a ladies man something which we see in his opening sketch.

Given that his episode has perhaps one of the most well known classic James Bond actors in it and the fact that they mention spies quite alot during the episode you'd think that they'd do a James Bond spoof at least once during the episode. However they oddly don't which might be because of the fact that the creature of The Muppet Jim Henson hated violence but given just how well known the character of James Bond was back then it would have made sense for them to give the character a Muppets twist and while it could be argued that films like Ocotopussy and A View To A Kill help to make the Sir Roger Moore version of the character a parody anyway it would have made sense for The Muppets to do there own take on James Bond lest we forget they also spoofed Star Wars when that film was out even down to using some of that films original actors and yet here here they don't do it now granted there's not really much of a way that you could spoof it outside of doing a very badly done sketch with someone like Link Hogthrob playing a version of Blofeld and Miss Piggy playing a Bond Girl but that's really it and even then there's no way that you could have a Bond Girl in the sketch due to the fact that they usually have very innuendo laden names but even so it still would have been nice to see what the world of James Bond would like through the world of The Muppets as that's a take on the character that really hasn't been seen before and given the franchise already did have a parody film released in the sixties it wouldn't have been out of the realm of possibility either as it would have been quite fun to see Sir Roger Moore spoof the role that arguably made him even more well known then what he already was at the time.

At the start of the episode it's stated by Brian Henson himself that the "In The Navy" sketch is one of the best things that The Muppets have ever done with this coming down to the fact that it took a day to film. Which might not seem like much but when you take into account that the average episode of the show usually took three days to film it now seems like quite alot of time to spend on a sketch that whilst it is yes ambitious it's also not that funny or crazy it's just sort of there and heck even the opening skit with Pops being revealed as a spy is more funny as that's something that you don't really see coming where as with this episodes opening sketch it's just not that funny to watch with what could have made that sketch even funnier was if they had The Swedish Chef come im to try and convince the audience that The Vikings weren't all that bad which is something that they do set up as a possibility when he outright attacks Kermit at the Sketch when he says all of these horrid things about them and therefor having him come in to interrupt the sketch just to try and defend there actions during the sketch would add an extra layer of chaos to the sketch and while the idea of them using the Pigs for that sketch was a good idea it would have been funny if they had a rather disinterested Miss Piggy be one of the characters in that sketch like there all just singing the song and she's doing anything that they she can do to either move the sketch along and make it alot more faster then what it already is or just to get out of the sketch itself as she deems to be beneath her just anything would have made it funnier then what it already is as right now whilst it is a good idea for a sketch it's also one that does feel like it's rather undercooked as well.

To give this episode some credit it really does know how to use it's more established characters as even tho characters like Gonzo and Fozzie don't really make an appearance outside of appearing in the shows opening. All of the other more established Muppets characters do work really well and while they could have done with them being in more of the backstage skits as these are usually where The Muppets shine there brightest the fact that we do still get all of the things that made us love these characters in the first place and that still makes kids today love these character in the first place does show that the makers of this episode really did know how to use there characters as it would have been very easy for them to appear just with Sir Roger Moore and that's really it and it would have sense for them to do that as well as the very idea of seeing James Bond appearing in a scene with Kermit The Frog would be more then enough to get people to want to watch this episode but what gets them to watch the next episode is seeing how these characters interact with each other and seeing Kermit get a little bit frustrated with both Scooter and Beauregard over a simple case of mixing up his orders for the final sketch is something that does work as it then leads to a scene that carries on the traditional Muppet chaos something that would have been lost if we didn't have the traditional Muppet characters being there lovable selfs but at the same time there is quite a clear love for Miss Piggy in this episode as she's the one that appears in the most sketches which is fine as she's a funny character but at the same time it would have been funny to see Sir Roger trading bad jokes with Fozzie or even talking about stunt work with Gonzo.

Now then this episode has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly twenty six minuets and twenty nine seconds. Which is a perfectly solid running tie for this episode to have as it's pretty much the bogstandard running time for this as while this episode really doesn't have the right amount of plot there to cover that running time in this case that isn't really a bad thing as you don't really come to the Muppet Show for it's plot you come for it's sketches and therefor not having a plot that justifies being in an episode that's this long in the first place isn't really an issue as is the fact that the episode doesn't really use it's running time all that wisely in the first place as it doesn't matter if the plot is that well developed due to the fact that it doesn't need to be that good in the first place it just needs to be passable enough to get to the next sketch and that's really it and the episodes characters don't really need to be that well developed as all of the more established characters have the several dozen episodes and movies to get there character development and therefor they don't need it in every single episode of the show and it could even be argued the fact that there characters don't really get any character in the show let alone this episode is something that adds to there charm as they are meant to be these characters who are just trying their best to put on the best show possible with the thing that makes the show as a whole work being the chaos that goes on around them and that is something that doesn't really require character development as all it does is require the character to be fun and charming and that's what they are both in the show as a whole and in this episode as well but I really will admit that this episode really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is a comedy that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well the in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty really good. With this show having some really moments in it all of which feel true to who The Muppets are as characters with even alot of this episodes jokes doing a good job of showing of just how fun and goofy that Sir Roger Moore was as even he's blantly playing up to The Muppets it is something that does make his scenes all the more fun to watch as it would have been very easy to have his scenes be flat and boring and have no jokes but the fact that the makers of this episode when the extra mile by having be this kind of goofball type of character does show that the makers of this episode really did know how to make him a funny person with the best joke in this episode being the fact that when Kermit is introducing the first sketch of the episode he says that the vikings where these horrible people which causes The Swedish Chef to come out and argue with Kermit which ends with hi hitting Kermit across the back of the head with his pans which causes Kermit to suddenly say that the vikings where nice and forgiving people which is just a really good joke with the episode being filled to the brim with really good jokes as well like the fact that Miss Piggy not only can't speak French but also gets stood up by Sir Roger Moore but also the fact that the person he's standing her up for also looks exactly like her which is just a really good joke in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall whilst this episode might not be the best episode it is one that is still pretty funny as it shows us just how funny not only The Muppets can be but also how funny that Sir Roger Moore was as well and while the episode could have been alot more better it also could have been alot more worse as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very episode in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very episode really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 6.5 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from the official The Muppets fandom wiki page , IMP Awards . Com and Google Images. With my personally preferred website to use to get the images from this very episode that I used in this very review being the really great the official The Muppets fandom wiki page really simply just due to the fact that really alot of if not really all of the images that are all really from this very episode with alot of them being better quality then what you'd really think of and all of the images are really of course up and really on the official The Muppets fandom wiki page are also really all fairly high in quality and as well as them all being really fairly freaking high in definition.

The Muppet Show "Shirley Bassey" Review

Rather shockingly it's been a little over a year since I last reviewed an episode of The Muppet Show and well I suddenly got an erge to review another of the show. However with there being really so many episodes with so many great guest stars in them it was hard to pick an episode to review however what helped to narrow things down quite alot is the fact that Goldfinger is also my personal favorite James Bond film and so then so then join me as I review that sees a future Dame appear with the muppets with the episode in question being called simply just "Shirley Bassey" enjoy.

The plot of the episode is Scooter has to try and get some gold paint for there guest star Shirley Bassey's performance. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual, plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty on the thin side but that's kind of what you expect and want from The Muppet Show as this show really isn't known for it's deep plots with those mainly being saved for the movies with the show you want something that's rather simple and easy to follow as after all this is kids family friendly show and that's what the plot of this episode deliverers to us in spades with this episodes plot being really entertaining ad as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this episode is Jim Henson as Kermit The Frog , Rowlf , Dr. Teeth , The Newsman and Waldorf and Frank Oz as Fozzie Bear and Animal , Jerry Nelson as Bruno , Floyd Pepper , Violinist , Pops and Duck , Richard Hunt as Scooter , Beaker , Janice, Statler and Cow , Dave Goelz as Gonzo , Zoot , Dr. Bunsen Honeydew , Sheep and Doctor , Steve Whitmire as Lips and Dancing Sack , Kathryn Mullen as Gaffer , Louise Gold as Dancing Sack , Betsy Baytos as Timmy Monster and Pig and Dame Shirley Bassey as Herself.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty really good. With all of this episodes cast members turning in some really good performances which really isn't all that surprising as this show has always had some really good acting in it with this episode being no exception to that rule as the cast at this point have been playing these characters for years at this point which means that this episodes cast would know what performance would best suit there characters in any given situation with the acting in this episode not really being helped by the episodes script as the script really just isn't up to the really high standerd seen in other episodes of The Muppet Show.

For some reason for this particualr season of the show they changed the way that they introduced each guest as instead of having them show up and having Scooter knocking on there dressing room we now have the guest in question walking up to The Muppet Theater before having a talk with Pops. This is a change that just wasn't work as while it does make sense to show the guests turning up to the theater the old set up worked better as they would have been there for hours rehearsing for the show where as with this new set up it makes it appear as if they just turn up having no clue what there going to do on the show and just go on stage and make it up as they go along which just wouldn't be the case at all as any one of this shows guests would rehears for whatever there going to do as there act on the show with that feeling being lost with this guest introduction.

If your a James Bond then you'll be glad to know that this is the shows second James Bond guest with the first one appearing just a few episodes earlier in this very season of the show with that guest being none other then Sir Roger Moore himself. However were as Sir Roger Moore would have most likely have been on the show in order to promote "For Your Eyes Only" Dame Shirley Bassey is here just because she wants to be there and that is something that really does show through in the episode as it really does look like that she's having a blast working on this show with her getting fully stuck in on The Muppets type of madness and insanity and unlike the Sir Roger Moore appearance they don't make the fact that she's worked on a still hugely popular spy franchise the only joke about her infact they don't really make any jokes about her which they really should have done as Dame Shirley Bassey is known as a bit of diva but in a good way and they really could have played up that aspect of her and made that a running joke all throughout the episode but they don't do that for some reason which is weird as it could have a potentially funny running joke in the episode.

This episode really isn't the best of the show as while it does contain all of the typical madness that you expect from The Muppets. It doesn't contain any of the heart and soul that made and still make The Muppets stand out with this episode just feel anarchic just for the sake of feeling anarchic which is something that just doesn't work for The Muppets and while a more better episode could have pulled that of by having acts that are actually entertaining and could distract you from the rest of the episodes faults this episode doesn't have that going for it and as a result of that the episodes faults become bigger as we the audience are now forced to focus on them alot more with this episode lacking those emotional moments that help to make this show work with the show also lacking alot of that rebellious nature that the show is also really known for as well.

For some reason the makers of this show has Dame Shirley Bassey sing "Goldfinger" which is still a really good song. However when compared to "Diamonds Are Forever" which is a better song it's odd that they would only go for the song that's more popular thanks to the film instead of the song that's more better it's not even a case of the song that's more popular in it's own right as people that don't like the film "Diamonds Are Forever" still like the song and people that like the film "Goldfinger" alot of them don't like the song and yet they had her singing "Goldfinger" for no reason whatsoever which just doesn't make sense as the makers of this show are usually pretty good in choosing the better song for an artist to sing and almost never go with the song that's more popular which makes it all the more weirder that they would do so here heck given the year that this episode was made in they could have had her sing "Moonraker" and have her sing it with the cast from Pigs In Space.

Now then this episode has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly twenty five minuets and thirty two seconds. Which is pretty much the bogstanderd running time for this show but on the flip side of that is the fact that this episode really doesn't have a strong enough plot to really justify that long of a running time with the episodes main plot being really thin at best but enjoyably so but thin none the less with this being made worse by the fact that the acts that are featured on this episode just aren't that fun or creative to watch with none of them really justifying there length either with alot of them just being there really just for the sake of being there and not because there really creative to look or because there entertaining to look at all of which make them feel like a chore to sit through in this episode all of this does make the episode a slight chore to sit through but I will admit that this episode really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is a comedy that means that I have to actually talk about the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty not that bad. However that's also the issue as the comedy in this episode wasn't all that good either with there being alot more bad jokes in this episode then there are good ones but when we do get a good joke in this episode you really do know about it's just a shame that we have to sit through alot more bad jokes just to get to one or two decent jokes which only become good when you compare to the rest of the bad jokes that are in this episode in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this episode quite clearly isn't The Muppets at there best but at the same time it's also quite clearly a sign that the makers of this had done all that they could have done with the characters in a TV show format in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very episode that are in this very review and as such that really means that this very episode really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 6 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from the official The Muppets fandom wiki page , the official James Bond fandom wiki page and Google Images. With my personally preferred website to use to get the images from these very episode that I used in this very review being the official The Muppets fandom wiki page really simply just due to the fact that alot of the images that are on the official The Muppets fandom wiki page are really all really fairly high in quality and as well as them all being really fairly freaking high in definition.

The Muppet Show "Rita Moreno" Review

The Muppet Show is perhaps one of the most well known puppet shows out their with The Muppets themselves able to secure some very well known names. Since I've made it a habit to continue to talk about the show it was only about right that I talk about another episode of this truly iconic TV show and so then join me as I review the episode that introduced the world to a famous sketch from The Muppets that is with the episode in question being called simply just "Rita Moreno" enjoy.

The plot of this episode is the first thing that's right about this episode since it has no plot to begin with. As such The Muppets are now allowed to be as chaotic as they want to be and same thing can also be said for this episodes guest star both of which just wouldn't be able to happen if this episode had a plot since the characters would have to be really alot more focused on getting from point A to point B in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this episode is the great Jim Henson as Kermit The Frog , Waldorf , Rowlf, The Swedish Chef , The Newsman , The Jim Henson Muppet, and some of the Muppaphones and Frank Oz as Fozzie Bear , Anima l, Marvin Suggs , Sam The Eagle , The Frank Oz Muppet , George The Janitor , Mildred , Animal's Dancing Partner and Miss Piggy. Also starring in this episode is Jerry Nelson as The Jerry Nelson Muppet , Pig Bartender , The Announcer , Whatnot and some of the Muppaphones , Richard Hunt as Miss Piggy , Miss Piggy's Dancing Partner , Statler , Sweetums and Wayne , Dave Goelz as Rita's Dancing Partner , Zoot and The Guru , Eren Ozker as Janice and John Lovelady as Rita's Dancing Partner.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty really good. Also for some reason alot pf The Muppets have totally different voices which was really distracting.

As you can no dount work out by the title of this review this episodes special guest star was actress Rita Moreno. I have to admit that of all of the episodes that i've seen of this show she was perhaps the worst guest star simply because of the fact she wasn't that funny say what you want about all of the over guest starts but they were at least actually funny whereas Rita was trying to hard to actually be funny and that inturn made her rather unfunny.

Thr greatest thing about watching thus show is the fact that every now and again your going to see a character or in this case characters that you haven't seen before now. Since I had to no idea that Jim Henson , Frank Oz and Jerry Belson all had Muppet counterparts let alone that they actually voiced them as far as I can tell they only appeared in this one episode in a song that aired exclusivey in the UK but either way it's great to see that even all of these later you can still find characters that you never knew even existed in the first place.

Rather shockingly there aren't that many backstage segments in this episode with the only ones that we get involving a running gag featuring a phone and Fozzie Bear. This is why there really isn't a plot in this episode however at the same time half of the fun of this episode is seeing The Muppets causing chaos backstage and so in the end removing the backstage segments ultimately causes alot more harm then it does good since it makes the episode slightly less fun to watch.

I said at the very start of this review that this episode introduced us to a famous Muppets sketch and I was right since this is the first episode to include a Veterinarian's Hospital sketch. Which I actually liked since the idea of Rowlf being such a useless Doctor that he can only use terrible puns is such a funny idea to me altho like with alot of this episode what took me out of the sketch was the odd voices for both Janet and Miss Piggy which is a shame because it was a really funny sketch.

Now then this episode has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly twenty six minuets and nine seconds. Which was a tad bit on the long side for this episode simply because of the fact that this episode really doesn't have a plot to speak of and so there's only so long that you can watch a show with no plot until you get bored which is sadly what was close to happening with me and this episode.

So now then since this is a comedy that means that I have to actually talk about the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty really good. With nearly all of this shows jokes not only landing but landing hard yes there are some bad jokes told in this episode but that's not limited to this episode since you very well could say that about any episode of a comedy TV show in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this wasn't that bad of an episode since it did show us what The Muppets could be like when there just being chaotic and that really did make the episode alot of fun to watch in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very episode in this very review and as such that means that this very episode erns itself a grand old score of exactly an 8.5 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from the official The Muppets fandom wiki page and Google Images. With the website that I personally recommend using to get the actual images frim this special being the official The Muppets fandom wiki page this is simply because nearly all of the images that are featured and are thus up and on the official The Muppets fandom wiki page are all fairly high in quality and as well as being fairly high in definition.
