What I Think Of the Harley Quinn Teaser

Yes I know this is weird me doing a post on a teaser that was no more then fifty seconds long well it's my life and I can do what I want and since I don't people talking about the teaser I thought that I might as well do it and fair warning this post won't be as super detailed like the rest of my posts are because like I said it's a fifty second teaser.

I have to say that right of the bat I loved the tone this teaser was taking it reminded me alot of the first Deadpool movie which for me is a very good thing since that was a great movie to me the tone set in this teaser is pitch perfect not only for the show but for the character of Harley Quinn she would make jokes about the fans and she would make a joke about things being dark and gritty to me that is Harley.

For me the only bad thing about the teaser is Kaley Cuoco she's not a bad actress but to me her voice just doesn't fit the character which is a shame because we just had a movie which had a great voice actors for Harley in Kaley's Big Bang Theory co-star Melissa Rauch despite what people thought of Batman And Harley Quinn to me Harley was cast great in that film so why they didn't get her back for this series is beyond me.

It's really hard to cast Harley in my opinion because she has to be crazy but not to crazy and in most cases she also has to be in love with a mad man so finding someone who can portray all of those emotions is going to be hard no matter what the media is and maybe Kaley's voice will sound better in the actual series but in this teaser it just doesn't match up with the character.

One of the things I wasn't expecting from this teaser was for it to take shots at the Deadpool animated series which got canned when that came up I was like "dang talk about shots fired" because that is something you'd expect Deadpool to do not Harley but I guess it kinda makes sense since they are both adult cartoons with insane characters so having Harley poke fun at Deadpool for his getting canned does seem oddly fitting what will make it better tho is if Ryan Reynolds films a scene for the PG13 re-release of Deadpool 2 where he fires some shots back you all know that would be awesome.

The animation for a teaser was pretty decent I don't really think the show is going to look like the teaser in anyway since this looks like stuff that was just done to be in a teaser trailer and not the actual show itself so I can't really make a comment on if the show's animation is better then the one seen here but based of this teaser the animation looks to be decent and for DC's first animated series for there streaming service that might not be good enough.

Overall the teaser did what it set out to do and give us a tease of what's to come and what was in this teaser is anything to go by then I expect the show to have over the top violence and hopefully alot more Deadpool references because the more Deadpool the better and no Deadpool totally did not force me to write that and he totally doesn't have a gun to my head right now.

Some Of My Favorite Comic Book Movies

Guys and girls it seems like forever that we have been getting comic book movies regardless if they were good or not and now it seems like there's one released every five minuets and since others have done something like this in the past i'm going to list of some of my favorite comic book movies so let's go and just to set some ground rules i'm only listing of films that got a wide theatrical release.

Batman 1966

I'm going to warn you all right now there might be alot of Batman in this post this film is featured here because it was one of the first Batman films I saw heck I even now own the DVD it also helps the chemistry between the late Adam West and Burt Ward is really great this version of the character is one that you cannot take seriously and I like that.

The Entire Blade Trilogy

You might as well include all three films here since all of them are pretty much the same but without this film comic book films wouldn't be taken as seriously today since back when the first Blade came out they were still seen as campy films this film stood up and told people that you can make a serious comic book movie and it can be successful.

Batman Begins

This film single handily saved the Batman film franchise is it perfect heck no but it's a good start to a great trilogy of films and it proved that Batman can survive on the big screen all he needs is the right creative team to make it so and Christopher Nolan and David S. Goyer have proven themselves to be a great creative team.

Guardians Of The Galaxy

The best word I can use to describe this film is fun this film is fun from start to finish and part of that is due to the great writing from James Gunn and no i'm not going to mention the fact that he was fired by Disney for jokes that even he himself said were done in bad taste and was ashamed of. This film for me is one of if not the best film in the MCU and yes that means it's better then both Ant-Man and Ant-Man And The Wasp.

Wonder Woman

There are no words to describe how good this film is this film had such an uphill struggle it was being released after the dreadful Dawn Of Justice and it was being set in the still very shaky DCEU and so far this is the best film in that universe it is everything you want in a Wonder Woman movie and then some and i;m glad that the same people who worked on this movie are currently working on the sequel.

Logan

This film is to date one of the few superhero films that have made me cry the other one might be showing up on this list but if not just look at the title and you'll see why. Again like Wonder Woman this film had an uphill struggle because while the X-Men films have been fairly solid the Wolverine films have been pretty bad so imagine everyone's shock when this one comes out not only blows the other two out of the water but is also a fitting tribute to the character.

The Dark Knight

Going into this list I knew that there would be a few films that would have to be included and this is certainly one of them so you die hard fans can out down your touches and pitchforks. All I can say is believe the hype about this film because it really is good it's not the best representation of Batman ut there indeed my next DC entry has that title but it has a great story mixed in with great acting and action sequences.

The Avengers Franchise

Again this is one of those film that I knew would have to make an appearance on here and there really is nothing more I can say about the film that really hasn't been said it truly does earn all of the praise that it got and like the rest of you i'm not only excited for Captain Marvel but also for Avengers 4.

Batman: Mask of the Phantasm

This is to date the only Batman animated feature to get a theatrical release and it's also the film that best represents the character and honestly it's shocking that we are only now getting a blu-ray release for this film heck if I were to rank all of the films that have featured Batman this film would go right in at number 1.

Deadpool

I don't know about everyone else but I prefer this film over the second one which while not bad it didn't feel as fresh as this one was this film proved to people that an R rated comic book film could not only work but could also make a lot of money and like Mask Of The Phantasm this is the best representation of Deadpool as a character.

Superman 1978

This film right here is the best comic book movie ever made hands down not only did it get the character of Superman down perfectly it also proved to studios that comic book characters can indeed work on the big screen and while yes by today's standards the film might seem slower that doesn't make it a bad film because it takes it's time to develop it's characters and to develop it's story both of which are important when your making a film and yes this means it's better then The Dark Knight in my eyes.

Deadpool vs Thanos Review

Comic book fans for awhile now both Deadpool and Thanos have been getting pretty popular both thanks to successful movies with deadpool starring in the hugely popular Deadpool films and Thanos from both the Guardians films and Infinity War and so in 2015 the heads at Marvel decided to put them together in a four issue series so here is my review of Deadpool Vs Thanos.

The plot of this series is people suddenly stop dieing and it's up to Deadpool and his new BFF Thanos to find there ex Death and restore balance to the world. Yes you read that right folks the merc with a mouth has to team up with the mad titan and honestly there scenes together are where this series shines best and the story pretty much plays out like a buddy cop movie and that to me makes it more fun.

Now then of course there are more characters in this book besides from Deadpool , Thanos and Death so we also have Black Talon and , Ajax aka Francis and mephisto and all of those in there own way contribute to the plot of the story in there own unique way and that's good because otherwise they'd come of as nothing more then cameos and just looking at how Black Talon is dressed i'm sat here wondering why he hasn't been used in and then mocked in a Deadpool movie his costume is rif for mocking.

The art for the book was done by Elmo Bondoc who has only worked on this book and I think I know why because the art in this book isn't that good i'm not in any position to pass judgement but I feel like he could have done one or two drawings of some scenes better just to help improve the quality of the book it self.

The writer is Tim Seeley who's worked on two many comic books to mention and I will say that the above image is perhaps the best Deadpool scene that i've seen in a long time it's Deadpool at his most idiotic and the scene it self is just so well written while your laughing at Deadpools antics you also no that something is really messed up.

As you can no doubt tell this book is pretty mature I don't really think that needs saying since it's a Deadpool book but since I saw young kids being taken to see his movie I thought i'd put that out there but yeah this book does contain alot of blood which you can see in the above picture and there are one or two swear words thrown in there so just a heads up incase there's nothing in here for little kids this is a series meant for teens or older.

As I mentioned before this series was four issues long and it ran from November to December 2015 and what helps it standout a little bit is it's actually set before Marvel Now! I know this because Deadpool himself comes right out and says it and I think it's cool that Marvel released something set in an old continuity.

I think I brought this up in my Cosmic Avengers review but I got this book for a really low price of just £5 and i'm choosing to review it now because i'm thinking of doing a spoiler filled review of the Deadpool extended cut so this post has come at just the right time for Deadpool fans.

For me the best part of this series is seeing Deadpool and Thanos together because they seem like characters that shouldn't work when you put them together and yet in this series that pairing does indeed work but tho this also leads to my major issues with the book it's called Deadpool Vs Thanos and yet for 99% of the time there not fighting each other that would be fine if the series was say six issues long and then you just have them team up for the first three and have them fighting for the back three but here in a four issue series it doesn't work I payed to see Deadpool beat up Thanos not to see them team up.

There are alot of funny jokes in this series and rather surprisingly for a Deadpool series there's very few fourth wall breaks I guess that's because Ryan Reynolds knocked them all done with that epic sixteen wall break in the first movie but tho all of the jokes in this book had me laughing and they were also in Deadpools character like he straight up kills a guy before he reveals Doctor Doom is in the series and he then makes a crack about new comic book day which I found to be funny as hell.

Overall this was a very good book to read it's one that I had alot of fun reading but it also has some issues which i've covered in this review but even still it scores a 7.5 out of 10 from me.

Some Comic Books That I Would Love To See Get An Animated Series

Comic Book fans it's very common for someone to turn a comic book character into an animated series just look at Disney as prime examples but for every one that does get made there are a dozen or so that don't even get looked at and so i'm going to list of the comic books that I want to see turned into an animated series.

Grimm Fairy Tales

This series presents a take on classic fairy tales that is more inline with there original source material so this could make for a really exiting adult animated show heck one of the characters was so popular that she got her own Syfy show Van Helsing but just imagine if the whole Grimm universe was adapted for this series we could see Cinderella interact with Snow White and Alice and we could see Robyn Hood (that's how they spell it in this series) interact with Dorothy Gale you could do pretty much anything and it would work.

Suicide Squad

Yes I know that Harley Quinn is getting her own animated series but this one could also work as a series again the only way this could work for me is if you make it an adult series since the team is mostly made up of villains that would make the most sense and heck the recent animated movie Suicide Squad: Hell To Pay proved that the team can look good in animated form and if you wanted to tie this into the new Harley Quinn series then make this one a spin off.

Any 2000 AD Character

2000 Ad has such a great selection of characters some have already been seen in movies but none have been turned into an animated series and to me that's just wrong Judge Dredd has proven himself popular twice at the box office and you wouldn't have to stick to one genre of show Dredd could be a cop show , Slaine could a violent fantasy epic and Survival Geeks could be a Sci-Fi comedy there are so many genres you could do if these characters were adapted into an animated series.

Hellboy

Like Suicide Squad Hellboy has not only appeared in live action but also in animation and also like Suicide Squad he has never gotten an animated series despite how popular he became after the 2004 movie perhaps the reason why he's not been given his own animated series is the fact that the series does focus alot on supernatural elements but the way I see it is if Supernatural can get an anime then why can't Hellboy get his own animated series.

Vampirella

She's pretty much a vampire freaking superhero how in the hell is this not been turned into an animated series already the series pretty much writes itself and since this is a horror character you can really go all out in terms of the story and the things you can get away with all you need to do is get somebody like Adult Swim to air the show and the shows golden.

Deadpool

This was honestly one of the few things I was really excited for when it first announced and then they announced that the glover brothers were going to be behind it and I got even more excited and then they cancelled it which is a shame because Deadpool IS a cartoon character so all they had to do was put that character on the small screen that was it and yes I still believe that one day this character will get his own animated series.

Red Sonja

This character kinda got an animated film but it's really more of a motion comic but the character has never been given an animated series which is a shame because if you make the show in the vain of Xena mixed in with Game Of Thrones it could really work I really cannot be the only one who sees the potential in an animated Red Sonja series even today she's still popular this is a series that's just begging to happen.
